- 0:00If I had 2 minutes to speak to the whole
- 0:02world, what I would say is all you need
- 0:04is a pen and a notebook to completely
- 0:07change your life.
- 0:11Because with these two things, [music]
- 0:14you can figure out exactly how to get
- 0:16from who you are now
- 0:18to the person you want to become.
- 0:23Imagine that behind this door
- 0:26is the life you actually want.
- 0:31And walking out of it
- 0:33is the future version of you who built
- 0:35that life.
- 0:39What do they look like? [music]
- 0:41Are they happier?
- 0:43More charismatic?
- 0:44More successful?
- 0:49Now imagine [music]
- 0:50they reach their hand out to you,
- 0:52inviting you into the life
- 0:54>> [music]
- 0:54>> you've been imagining.
- 0:56How do you reach back,
- 0:58take their hand,
- 0:59and actually become [music] the person
- 1:01you've always dreamed of?
- 1:04Open your notebook to a blank page
- 1:07and write down those traits you just
- 1:08imagined.
- 1:11Then, underneath each one,
- 1:13write down the small everyday behaviors
- 1:15that person actually does.
- 1:18If they're charismatic, they start
- 1:19conversations.
- 1:21If they're healthy, [music] they go for
- 1:22a run.
- 1:23If they're successful, they send out the
- 1:25email.
- 1:27Here's what most people miss. [music] We
- 1:29like to picture our future selves based
- 1:31on their accomplishments,
- 1:33what they've achieved, but
- 1:34accomplishments only describe where they
- 1:37ended up, not how they got there.
- 1:39>> [music]
- 1:39>> So, take the person you want to become
- 1:42and break them down into the daily
- 1:44actions required to achieve that future
- 1:47version of yourself.
- 1:49>> [music]
- 1:49>> That's how you close the gap between who
- 1:51you are today
- 1:53and the person
- 1:54that you actually want
- 1:56to become.
