- 0:13I have a habit of checking the time
- 0:15before I start speaking but I have a
- 0:18special clock it has two functions one
- 0:21tells you the time and the other the
- 0:24exact
- 0:26location by the way this is the most
- 0:29advanced techn ology the time that I get
- 0:31is an atomic time that is the most
- 0:33accurate time
- 0:35possible because when I look at the time
- 0:39my clock is telling me
- 0:42now the time is now and when I took take
- 0:46a look at the GPS it tells me the place
- 0:50is here and in
- 0:53essence in
- 0:57nutshell that's what I've learned from
- 0:59my experience
- 1:00to be present at the
- 1:04moment to engage in every moment with
- 1:07intensity to live every
- 1:11day as if it was the last day of my life
- 1:15I was a kid maybe eight or nine years
- 1:17old I I I I went to the market in Tel
- 1:21Aviv with my father and on the way back
- 1:24my father was carrying all the produce
- 1:26so he had like a few baskets on one hand
- 1:29and a big watermelon under the other arm
- 1:32and we walking towards the car when a
- 1:35tourist stopped us to get some
- 1:37directions he was lost and my father was
- 1:41quite confused didn't know what to do
- 1:42finally he puts all the shopping bags on
- 1:44the floor he ended over the watermelon
- 1:46to me he looks at the tourist and said
- 1:48look I really don't
- 1:50know I got a couple of degrees my first
- 1:52degrees is in Jewish philosophy and then
- 1:54I did another degree in uh business
- 1:56administration most people tell me
- 1:59consistency
- 2:00business administration Jewish
- 2:02philosophy same
- 2:04thing I left um Israel at the age of 21
- 2:09on searching for my own adventure you
- 2:13see my strong belief is that we go and
- 2:18search for Adventures we climb
- 2:22mountains we cross valleys and seas but
- 2:25actually we searching for ourselves I
- 2:28arrived in a beautiful beautiful place
- 2:31one morning I was already a year with a
- 2:34backpack on my
- 2:35shoulders and I arrived in a very
- 2:38precious place the border of Peru and
- 2:40Bolivia in South America this border is
- 2:44a lake that separates both countries I
- 2:46was there early that
- 2:49morning because the ferry after the
- 2:51market
- 2:52day returns all the peasants back to the
- 2:55different islands in the lake so once a
- 2:58week There's an opportunity to visit
- 3:00these unique communities that live deep
- 3:02inside the lake and I was there on the
- 3:06docks and finally um I was led to the
- 3:08ferry by a child I jump into the ferry
- 3:11and I see it's full of people already uh
- 3:14five six
- 3:15Backpackers and about 15 20 um peasants
- 3:20a minute or two later The Boat Leaves
- 3:23the docks and here we making our way
- 3:25into the Mist leaving the town behind
- 3:29when sudden there's a scream from behind
- 3:31Aspera wait and we turn around and we
- 3:35see a Backpacker obviously his backpack
- 3:37puding up and down his back and he's
- 3:39running and he's screaming again Aspera
- 3:44wait and I
- 3:46feel we should go back for him this is
- 3:49one of ours and I look at the motom
- 3:52man and I see that nobody else is
- 3:56concerned like the Backpackers don't
- 3:58care and The Peasants they don't want to
- 4:02go back for some
- 4:04Gringo so I just withdraw myself and I
- 4:07said okay uh I won't interfere
- 4:11either and the guy one more time asara
- 4:15desperately because that's the last
- 4:17fairy and he missed it and I look at the
- 4:20motor man this very
- 4:22colorful and
- 4:24Indian and he's looking back and forth
- 4:27back and
- 4:27forth and that moment this Crystal
- 4:31because I can see exactly the work of
- 4:34Destiny this man was hesitating if to go
- 4:38back and forth his decision will
- 4:41completely change the course of Our
- 4:42Lives my life will be a different
- 4:46life his life the guy waiting on the
- 4:48docks will end he will
- 4:56die what I tell you
- 5:20[Music]
- 5:28yes
- 5:31we left civilization flew into the
- 5:33Amazon for 4 days we were walking deep
- 5:36into the Amazon and after 4 days um we
- 5:40arrived to a small community as SAS this
- 5:43was the last there's nothing past that
- 5:45Community for 4 days we were walking
- 5:48down a trail now there's no Trail and
- 5:50when there's no
- 5:52Trail how do you make the next pass do
- 5:55you take the machete and cut the
- 5:58vegetation there's no Trail the only
- 6:01things that we could follow were little
- 6:03tributaries Rivers creeks and because
- 6:07the water source will guide us through
- 6:09the forest but walking by the water is
- 6:12the hardest cuz the closer to the water
- 6:14the denser the vegetation so what we did
- 6:16we jumped into the rivers into the creek
- 6:18and we're trying to walk as much as we
- 6:20could in the water completely wet our
- 6:23stuff heavy starting developing blisters
- 6:26and rushes it wasn't easy at all and we
- 6:29walk like that for a day and nothing
- 6:31nothing to eat and we're starving but we
- 6:34have no food cuz Carl said it's very
- 6:36silly to take food into the Amazon we
- 6:38have rice we have beans and we have a
- 6:40shotgun so we'll we we'll
- 6:51hunt but on the river Everything Changes
- 6:54Carl is like a shaped samung the only
- 6:57one of us that doesn't know how to swim
- 6:58is Carl so on the raft Kevin is taking
- 7:02leadership but Carl is not about to give
- 7:05leadership up so both of them are
- 7:07fighting and screaming and Kevin is
- 7:09giving instruction Carl is giving the
- 7:11opposite instruction and we are split
- 7:13Marcus follows car and I stayed by
- 7:19Kevin the river became very narrow as we
- 7:22enter the canyon the sheer Cliff started
- 7:24building from both sides we started
- 7:26shooting Rapids when we hear a terrible
- 7:29noise noise and we see we see the huge
- 7:32Rock and then came the the
- 7:34he and before we know it we on the
- 7:38boulder hanging on the raft climbing
- 7:40back on the raft on the boulder the
- 7:42other side is the waterfall we stand on
- 7:44the waterfall with our raft trapped in
- 7:46the middle we are hanging on the raft
- 7:49jumping back on our feet looking down
- 7:51and both of us are shattered that's the
- 7:54waterfall I look at Kevin and I see that
- 7:57Kevin is completely pale I know we are
- 7:59in big trouble Kevin is looking down at
- 8:01this vast amount of water we were really
- 8:04desperate completely desperate in the
- 8:06middle of this white water to be stuck
- 8:08at night Kev said we we cannot do that
- 8:11so here's what we're doing you hold the
- 8:13machete he said you hold the masetta in
- 8:15your hand I'm going to jump if I'm going
- 8:18to make it to the right Bank you throw
- 8:21the machete after me I'll climb up the
- 8:23cliff cut some Vines make some rope come
- 8:26down and take you out I was crying by
- 8:29that stage cuz I knew he's going to die
- 8:31and I was crying for him but I was
- 8:32crying for me cuz I knew he's going to
- 8:35die and he's going to leave me alone
- 8:37here so I was holding the machetta
- 8:39looking at him and then he gave that
- 8:41huge jump he flies in the air he's taken
- 8:44by the water I look and then I see him
- 8:47pops he's popping straight to the right
- 8:49Bank he's jumping out he's bleeding he's
- 8:51holding his knees knee slashed he's
- 8:53screaming the machete I throw the
- 8:55machete in the air and then everything
- 8:58moves screeching the the raft lost its
- 9:01balance by jumping it pushed the raft
- 9:04off the rock I'm falling into the the
- 9:05waterfall I'm screaming Kevin don't
- 9:07leave me he's screaming all done all
- 9:10done all done to the logs I'm throwing
- 9:12myself on the logs I all on to them and
- 9:15I fall into the
- 9:18waterfall and then I'm inside the guts
- 9:21of this River tremendous pressure on my
- 9:23chest Peach black I just close my eyes
- 9:26I'm afraid to open my eyes I old and old
- 9:28and old and I feel I'm bursting there's
- 9:31no air I cannot take it anymore and then
- 9:34suddenly the rough just pops out and as
- 9:36it pops out I grasp her her it feels
- 9:39like gold it's so precious and I look
- 9:41back for a minute
- 9:43second I see Kevin Kevin is there waving
- 9:47the curve I don't see
- 9:54Kevin
