2. 0:03challenger? Where are your brave men,
3. 0:06or are you afraid? No one can face me.
4. 0:10In Mecca, where strength elevated a man
5. 0:13above others. There was a name everyone
6. 0:16feared. It was Rukanah ibn Abd Yazid.
7. 0:19The strongest wrestler in Mecca, a man
8. 0:21of massive build, famous among the
9. 0:23tribes for strength people had never
10. 0:25seen the like of. Whenever he entered
11. 0:28the wrestling arena, people gathered to
12. 0:30watch his might. Men would step up to
13. 0:33him one after another, but the result
14. 0:35was always the same: another fall to
15. 0:37the sand. One day, Rukanah entered a
16. 0:40wide arena on the outskirts of Mecca.
17. 0:42With people surrounding him from every
18. 0:44side. The first challenger stepped
19. 0:46forward. The confrontation did not last
20. 0:48long. Rukanah grabbed him and threw him
21. 0:50to the ground in front of everyone.
22. 0:52Then a second man stepped up, and his
23. 0:54fate was the same as the first, then a
24. 0:56third, then a fourth. With each victory
25. 0:58, Rukanah's confidence grew more. He
26. 1:01stood in the middle of the arena,
27. 1:02looking at the men around him with
28. 1:04great pride; he could see the fear in
29. 1:06their eyes. And he knew that none of
30. 1:09them had the courage to face him. He
31. 1:11held his head high and said defiantly:

33. 1:15. The men looked at one another. But no
34. 1:18one stepped forward. He repeated his
35. 1:20challenge again: Where are the men? Who
36. 1:22dares to wrestle him? The arena
37. 1:24remained silent. One day, Rukanah met
38. 1:26the Messenger, peace be upon him.
39. 1:28Rukanah said with defiant confidence, "
40. 1:31O Muhammad, if you wrestle me to the
41. 1:33ground, I will believe in what you
42. 1:35brought." The Messenger of Allah, peace
43. 1:37be upon him, said to him, "What do you
44. 1:39think, Rukanah, if I throw you down,
45. 1:41will you believe in Allah and His
46. 1:43Messenger?" Rukanah agreed, thinking
47. 1:45that no one could defeat him. People
48. 1:48gathered to watch the confrontation,
49. 1:50and the wrestling began. But the
50. 1:52surprise happened quickly, for the
51. 1:54Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,
52. 1:56wrestled Rukanah and threw him to the
53. 1:58ground. Rukanah stood in shock at what
54. 2:00he had seen, wondering how a man not
55. 2:02known for wrestling had defeated him.
56. 2:05Some accounts mention that he asked for
57. 2:07a rematch, and the Prophet, peace be
58. 2:09upon him, threw him again. Other
59. 2:11accounts even state it was repeated
60. 2:13three times, though that remains a
61. 2:15matter of scholarly debate. The story
62. 2:18of Rukanah’s wrestling match with the
63. 2:20Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,
64. 2:22remains one of the most famous accounts
65. 2:24in the Seerah, as it showed that true
66. 2:26strength is not just physical power,
67. 2:28but the success and support granted by
68. 2:30Allah.
