1. 0:00During the winter, we visited a luxury
2. 0:04hotel on the Red Sea called
3. 0:06Xanatumagadi Bay. It's a vast 500,000
4. 0:10m² property. The bay is considered
5. 0:13windless, so many people consider it a
6. 0:16great choice for a stay in winter. It's
7. 0:20not exactly budget-friendly, as it's a
8. 0:23Turkish chain offering good service, 24
9. 0:26-hour food, imported alcohol, and much
10. 0:29more. The concept is complex, so we'll
11. 0:33include it in the description for you
12. 0:36to explore. I'll share my impressions
13. 0:40and the services we managed to use.
14. 0:44It's simply impossible to use
15. 0:46everything. We were greeted very warmly
16. 0:49. There was a nice lobby, and welcome
17. 0:51drinks and snacks were provided right
18. 0:54away. A personal consultant approached
19. 0:57us at reception to assist with our
20. 1:00check-in. We were checked in early
21. 1:02because, again, the hotel's policy
22. 1:05required us to check in by 2:00 PM.
23. 1:07However, if there are available rooms,
24. 1:10of course, no one will keep you until
25. 1:122:00 PM. We were checked in right away.
26. 1:15Again, the choice of rooms is huge,
27. 1:18because there are villas, some
28. 1:20presidential suites, connecting rooms,
29. 1:23and private rooms. We naturally booked
30. 1:26the most budget-friendly option, the
31. 1:29most basic one, but even that
32. 1:31pleasantly surprised us because it was
33. 1:34a 35 m² room, spacious, nice, and each
34. 1:37room has its own balcony. We didn't
35. 1:40have a sea view. Again, I'll say it was
36. 1:42the most budget-friendly option, but it
37. 1:44still had a beautiful view of the
38. 1:45grounds. There was a side sea view, if
39. 1:48you looked closely. And the room also
40. 1:51had everything you need for a hotel of
41. 1:53this class. Of course, there will be
42. 1:55excellent Wi-Fi throughout the entire
43. 1:58property, entertainment, and food is
44. 2:00available 24/7. They even refilled our
45. 2:02minibar, because, for example, at some
46. 2:05decent Egyptian five-star hotels, the
47. 2:07minibar was empty. That wasn't the case
48. 2:10here. And it's not just refilled on the
49. 2:14first day; it's also replenished daily
50. 2:18throughout your stay. And, of course,
51. 2:20cosmetics are included. The cosmetics
52. 2:22were good quality, but again, they were
53. 2:26small jars that would be replenished
54. 2:29daily. Of course, you'll find shampoo
55. 2:32and conditioner here. We'll also have
56. 2:36body lotion and everything else. So,
57. 2:38you don't need to pack anything when
58. 2:41preparing for such a vacation.
59. 2:43Naturally, you'll have a good hairdryer
60. 2:45and a scale to keep track of your
61. 2:47weight. But that won't be easy, believe
62. 2:50me. When you have a pastry shop, 24-
63. 2:54hour food options, and a huge number of
64. 2:56à la carte restaurants. Incidentally,
65. 2:59there are à la carte options for an
66. 3:02additional fee, but there are also
67. 3:04those you can use for a one-time fee
68. 3:06for your stay on the hotel grounds. The
69. 3:09grounds are vast, so getting from the
70. 3:13main building to the beach is a fair
71. 3:16walk. Again, if you're watching your
72. 3:19figure and staying in shape, you'll
73. 3:21walk. If you're traveling with children
74. 3:24due to age or illness, a golf cart will
75. 3:28take you around the hotel grounds.
76. 3:31There are designated stops where you
77. 3:33can wait for the cart and then
78. 3:36comfortably travel to the beach. The
79. 3:39beachfront area is also very large. And
80. 3:41regarding the winter concept, there are
81. 3:45a lot of pools, all of which are
82. 3:47unheated. Three are considered heated:
83. 3:51a children's pool, a large pool near
84. 3:54the main building, one of which is
85. 3:57heated, and the pool near the main bar,
86. 4:00called Laguna, is heated. This bar is
87. 4:04open 24/7. They offer a huge variety of
88. 4:07drinks. There's always a line of people
89. 4:11waiting to have a drink. This is the
90. 4:15noisiest, most crowded pool. It's
91. 4:18probably located closer to the sea, a
92. 4:20little further from the main building,
93. 4:23but you'll notice it. You can't miss it
94. 4:25because it's so crowded. Along the way,
95. 4:28we pass a children's mini-club. There
96. 4:31are no children there because the pool
97. 4:33is unheated, but there are a lot of
98. 4:35people inside. And finally, we reached
99. 4:38Laguna. And, as I already mentioned,
100. 4:41this is a very popular place, at least
101. 4:44in the winter, because of the warm pool
102. 4:46, the huge number of children there,
103. 4:48and the always huge line at the bar.
104. 4:51Besides drinks, there are snacks, so
105. 4:54keep in mind that you can buy or not
106. 4:56buy, everything is included, just order
107. 4:59and take whatever you want. The drinks
108. 5:02are made with imported alcohol. The
109. 5:05alcohol is very good. So if this is
110. 5:07important to you, keep in mind that the
111. 5:10Xanadu hotel, well, it has an abundance
112. 5:12of everything. And about the rooms?
113. 5:15There are many different rooms. You can
114. 5:17book villas with a private pool, with a
115. 5:21sea view. There are rooms without a sea
116. 5:23view. But even in the main building,
117. 5:25there are rooms. Each room has its own
118. 5:28balcony and a quite pleasant view of
119. 5:30the grounds. The entire grounds are
120. 5:33green and varied. If you are worried
121. 5:35about the number of people at the hotel
122. 5:38(and there are a lot of them, since the
123. 5:40grounds are huge), you can find a quiet
124. 5:42area for yourself. All kinds of
125. 5:44activities are held on the grounds.
126. 5:46There's a wonderful sports club open
127. 5:49from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. I didn't
128. 5:54really like the fact that the tennis
129. 5:57tables were located in such a windy
130. 6:00area, and I couldn't use them because
131. 6:03the wind was constantly blowing. But
132. 6:06the sports club itself is very decent,
133. 6:08spacious, and bright. They offer yoga
134. 6:11and other sports activities. Again, all
135. 6:15of this is listed in the hotel's
136. 6:17concept, and there's a daily schedule.
137. 6:20Or you can inquire at reception, and
138. 6:23they'll provide the schedule. The beach
139. 6:26is pleasant, with white—or off-white,
140. 6:29of course—sand. The entrance to the
141. 6:32sea is very good, especially for
142. 6:34children. And the hotel also claims to
143. 6:37have its own reef. I didn't find one;
144. 6:39there wasn't one. But overall, it's a
145. 6:42nice, dedicated swimming area. There
146. 6:45are no obvious high or low tides here.
147. 6:48The water is always accessible,
148. 6:51pleasant for swimming. So, it's a good
149. 6:55place. As for the reef, I couldn't find
150. 6:57anything. I also liked that they make
151. 7:00iced coffee on the beach in the morning
152. 7:02. You can buy it right away, so if
153. 7:05you're early and have been swimming
154. 7:07before breakfast, you can grab a drink
155. 7:10right away. That's nice, that's nice.

170. 7:52there. There are also ATMs on site, and
171. 7:55various shops where you can buy
172. 7:58everything. And throughout the day, you
173. 8:02can find ice cream for the kids. Well,
174. 8:04cakes, I already mentioned that. By the
175. 8:07way, we would have found an ice cream
176. 8:11parlor where you pay extra for it, but
177. 8:14there are also free options. There are
178. 8:17two hotels on the same property. Both
179. 8:20are called Xanadu. One is newer, but
180. 8:23the one we stayed at was built in 2022.
181. 8:25Some kind of renovation was announced
182. 8:28in 2023, but overall, everything is
183. 8:30very new and nice. And right in the
184. 8:33middle between the two hotels is a huge
185. 8:35water park. Again, the hotel claims to
186. 8:39have 13 large slides for adults and 14
187. 8:42for children. We didn't go on these
188. 8:45slides, we just popped into the area to
189. 8:48explore. One thing I really liked,
190. 8:50since the main restaurant is noisy and
191. 8:52crowded, is that there's also a
192. 8:54restaurant for 16+. I noticed it late,
193. 8:57but to be honest, I thought the
194. 8:59breakfasts there were, well, more cozy,
195. 9:02comfortable, and relaxing. You can get
196. 9:05some food you need in the main
197. 9:07restaurant, but they've set aside an
198. 9:10area for adults for breakfast, and it's
199. 9:13quiet, calm, and nice. I'm saying the
200. 9:16service is excellent. There are already
201. 9:19plenty of free waiters. While in the
202. 9:21main restaurant you often have to look
203. 9:24for a seat, the tables are empty. There
204. 9:27are waiters, and they are friendly.
205. 9:29Overall, I couldn't find any downsides
206. 9:32to this hotel. And at the end, when
207. 9:35you've finished relaxing, they even
208. 9:37give you a checklist: "How was the room
209. 9:40service? How was the room? How was the
210. 9:43food?" And truly, I couldn't find any
211. 9:45downsides, even after such a detailed
212. 9:48review of this hotel. There's a huge
213. 9:50variety of food at breakfast, as well
214. 9:52as at lunch and dinner. And there are
215. 9:55lots of Turkish dishes, Turkish cheeses
216. 9:58, and some traditional Turkish dishes.
217. 10:01That's a big plus for me. There are
218. 10:03also Egyptian dishes, of course, so you
219. 10:05definitely won't be able to try
220. 10:07everything in one sitting. I really
221. 10:10liked the Semites, the fried bananas,
222. 10:13the freshly squeezed juices, the wide
223. 10:15variety of fruit, and the many, many
224. 10:18meat dishes for the children. Sweets,
225. 10:21porridge—well, a real variety of
226. 10:23everything. I even found some blue
227. 10:26cheese, though not on the first try,
228. 10:28because, as I say, it's simply
229. 10:30impossible to notice everything on the
230. 10:32first try. They served strawberries for
231. 10:34breakfast, sometimes even for dinner.
232. 10:37So, yes, you will be absolutely
233. 10:40satisfied with the food here. Well, I
234. 10:43think, of course, this is my personal
235. 10:45opinion, and I'm sharing it with you
236. 10:47here. I liked that there were lots of
237. 10:49vegetables, everything was decent. By
238. 10:51the way, about the fish. Many people
239. 10:54want salted fish for breakfast. This,
240. 10:56yes, salmon. Well, salmon, I'm joking,
241. 10:59of course. So, they do have salmon here
242. 11:02. They serve it in such quantity that
243. 11:04there's enough for everyone, so there's
244. 11:07no need to fight for it. As soon as one
245. 11:09plate is finished, the next plate is
246. 11:12brought. And that's basically the same
247. 11:14with any food. Let me remind you that
248. 11:16there were a lot of people, and
249. 11:18understandably there were lines and
250. 11:21crowds somewhere, but, well, there were
251. 11:23no problems with the food, there was
252. 11:26enough. There were sometimes problems
253. 11:28with finding tables, especially if you
254. 11:30want to sit somewhere cozy, not too
255. 11:32noisy, and feel at ease. The restaurant
256. 11:35is big, and there are even more people.
257. 11:36So, you have to understand that yes,
258. 11:39sometimes you had to look for a table,
259. 11:42but anything is possible. Regarding
260. 11:46taste. The food is delicious, the food
261. 11:48is clean, everyone is friendly, and
262. 11:51everyone is ready to help you if you
263. 11:53need it. As for traditional sweets, I
264. 11:56don't know, and there were various
265. 11:58vegetables. For those on a diet, you
266. 12:01can find dietary dishes. By the way,
267. 12:04there is a children's menu for very
268. 12:06small children. There are jars of food.
269. 12:09If you can't find them right away, well
270. 12:12, just ask the staff, they will help

272. 12:18there are several bars on the roof.

284. 12:49snacks, there's also a late dinner
285. 12:52until 2:00 a.m. The main dinner, I
286. 12:54think, ends at 9:30 a.m., and then a
287. 12:56late dinner starts at 11:00 a.m., which
288. 12:59lasts until 2:00 a.m. However, we
289. 13:01didn't try it; we didn't go out for
290. 13:06dinner at night. Because we were always
291. 13:09not just full, but very full. The chefs
292. 13:13'approach to their work is certainly
293. 13:15very interesting. By the way, I really
294. 13:18liked the kebab there; they made really
295. 13:20delicious flatbreads, delicious meat,
296. 13:23and fillings. There was always fish and
297. 13:26seafood. From time to time, the variety
298. 13:29on the tables changes. So keep that in
299. 13:32mind. And, as I said, I don't even have
300. 13:35anything to say about something being
301. 13:39missing or not being tasty. Everything
302. 13:41was delicious. Freshly squeezed juices
303. 13:43are always available, too. And, uh,
304. 13:47strawberry, mango, mango juice. And, of
305. 13:53course, the orange juice for breakfast
306. 13:56is also wonderful, incomparable. So, in
307. 13:58theory, everything is in order. As for
308. 14:02entertainment, yes, there is a
309. 14:04children's disco, of course, and
310. 14:07sometimes the night disco is just
311. 14:09entertaining shows, so it's not boring
312. 14:12at all. The entertainment I like is
313. 14:17strolling along the seashore. But in
314. 14:20Egypt, that's often impossible because
315. 14:22the area is fenced off, and the guards
316. 14:25won't let you in. Here at Makadeb,
317. 14:27there's no such problem. By the way, I
318. 14:30really liked that there's a promenade;
319. 14:32you can stroll past other hotels
320. 14:35because there are many nearby. For
321. 14:37example, Porbesco. We looked at it and
322. 14:40passed by. And other well-known hotels.
323. 14:43The Iberotel is right next to our hotel
324. 14:46. And sometimes you can walk for an
325. 14:49hour. And after such hearty lunches and
326. 14:52dinners, you understand, you need
327. 14:54either an active swim, or play football
328. 14:57, or a stroll along the seashore. We
329. 14:59also really liked the rooftop bar
330. 15:02because it wasn't crowded, and there
331. 15:05was a very nice young man working there
332. 15:08. He made us delicious coffee without
333. 15:11asking and brought us some snacks. By
334. 15:14the way, every bar has snacks like nuts
335. 15:17and chips. They might cut up some fruit
336. 15:20for you, so don't drink straight
337. 15:23alcohol; have a snack, guys. And so we

342. 15:36significantly more crowded, but it's a

345. 15:43exchanges are available through ATMs in
346. 15:46Egypt. And hotels often have ATMs, so
347. 15:50it's very convenient. By the way, the
348. 15:53exchange rate is the same everywhere.

350. 15:58can just go to the hotel ATM and
351. 16:01exchange money. I already mentioned
352. 16:04that there are shops on site. You can
353. 16:07even find those scissors or SPF cream

356. 16:15local shops. Naturally, such a good
357. 16:19hotel has a spa, but it's an extra
358. 16:22charge. So, even if you want to use the

361. 16:31any massages or extra treatments

364. 16:39line about this motel is that if it's
365. 16:42within your price range, it's
366. 16:44definitely worth a visit.
