  154. 6:04work and we'll do all the process for
  155. 6:06you it's very quick just takes a day or
  156. 6:08two but do you understand and agree that
  157. 6:10you will not work a second job until you
  158. 6:12talk to gec first
  159. 6:14yes i understand
  160. 6:16it is no problem for me
  161. 6:18so what is the name of the visa that you
  162. 6:21are applying for
  163. 6:23j1 business
  164. 6:25exactly it's a j1 visa
  165. 6:28and there are rules and regulations that
  166. 6:30you must follow while you're in the
  167. 6:32united states you can find all those
  168. 6:34rules and regulations on your gec
  169. 6:37account
  170. 6:38in your program materials especially
  171. 6:40your participant handbook now it is a
  172. 6:42requirement that you read all of your
  173. 6:44program materials
  174. 6:46your participant handbook your program
  175. 6:48information got everything before you
  176. 6:50come to the united states there's also

  178. 6:55gec account that you're required to
  179. 6:57complete before coming to the united
  180. 6:59states so do you understand and agree to
  181. 7:01complete that online orientation and
  182. 7:04read all of your program materials
  183. 7:05before coming to the us
  184. 7:07yes i understand i will read
  185. 7:11these methods i will read these
  186. 7:13materials
  187. 7:18and it's very important for you it helps
  188. 7:20you understand the program more once
  189. 7:22you're ready for a work agreement we
  190. 7:24will create your work agreement and we
  191. 7:26will send you an email telling you it's
  192. 7:27ready for you to review we'll also send
  193. 7:30you a program information guide at that
  194. 7:32same time
  195. 7:33those two documents contain everything
  196. 7:36you need to know about your personal
  197. 7:38program where you're going to work how
  198. 7:41much you're going to be paid the minimum
  199. 7:43number of hours that you can expect
  200. 7:46how much your housing is going to be is
  201. 7:48going to cost and what your housing is
  202. 7:50what the details about your housing
  203. 7:52everything that you need to know about
  204. 7:54the local area where restaurants are
  205. 7:56where cultural activities are just
  206. 7:58different things read those carefully
  207. 8:01before signing and if there's anything
  208. 8:03that you're not happy with or that you
  209. 8:05don't understand or you have a question
  210. 8:06about reach out to gec we want you to be
  211. 8:09happy once you get here you do not have
  212. 8:12to accept the first placement that we
  213. 8:14send you if there's something you don't
  214. 8:16like about it that you talked about
  215. 8:18wanting to go to boston if you think
  216. 8:19that where you're located isn't going to
  217. 8:21make it hard for you to go to boston to
  218. 8:22visit let us know that say i don't want
  219. 8:24to be you know in southern florida i'd
  220. 8:26rather be in virginia or someplace
  221. 8:28closer to boston
  222. 8:30we can do that for you just let us know
  223. 8:32okay
  224. 8:33so do you understand and agree to read
  225. 8:35those carefully before signing and
  226. 8:36uploading
  227. 8:37yes i understand i will some bring money
  228. 8:41and
  229. 8:42i will contact greatly dac
  230. 8:45if i have a problem or question
  231. 8:49beautiful
  232. 8:50um
  233. 8:51once you've arrived in the united states
  234. 8:53you will have five days to validate your
  235. 8:55program it's very easy and we'll send
  236. 8:57you emails and instructions however it's
  237. 9:00important to remember that it's five
  238. 9:02days from when you arrive
  239. 9:05not five days from when your program
  240. 9:07starts so if you come early to travel a
  241. 9:09little bit you still need to validate
  242. 9:12your program within five days of your
  243. 9:13plane landing in the united states okay
  244. 9:15so do you understand and agree to
  245. 9:17validate within five days which i
  246. 9:19understand
  247. 9:21beautiful
  248. 9:23once your program is active about every
  249. 9:25month we will send you an email telling
  250. 9:27you that something we call a monthly
  251. 9:30monetary questionnaire is ready for you
  252. 9:32to complete
  253. 9:33those questionnaires are very easy just
  254. 9:35three or four questions
  255. 9:37but they're extremely important they are
  256. 9:40a department of state requirement and if
  257. 9:42you don't complete those on time when we
  258. 9:44send you the email it is a violation of
  259. 9:46your program so do you understand the
  260. 9:48importance of completing those monthly
  261. 9:50monitoring questionnaires
  262. 9:52yes i understand i will check my email
  263. 9:55all time
  264. 9:57beautiful that was my next point is that
  265. 9:59email access is important so if
  266. 10:01something happens to the device you use
  267. 10:03to check your email like let's say you
  268. 10:05use your phone to check your email and
  269. 10:07you lose your phone in the united states
  270. 10:10you need to find a way to check your
  271. 10:11email until you get a replacement phone
  272. 10:13now most of the host employers have
  273. 10:15computers and they know that it's
  274. 10:17important for the students to check
  275. 10:18their email so you could just go to your
  276. 10:20manager or supervisor and tell them i've
  277. 10:22lost my phone and i need to check my
  278. 10:24email do you have a computer i can use
  279. 10:26or you can ask your roommate or fellow
  280. 10:28participant if you can borrow their
  281. 10:30phone to check your email if the if you
  282. 10:32just cannot check your email then just
  283. 10:34call gec to make sure that we're not
  284. 10:36trying to get a hold of you okay so do
  285. 10:38you understand and about the importance
  286. 10:41of having email access while you're in
  287. 10:42the united states
  288. 10:44yes i understand
  289. 10:46beautiful well we're almost done you've
  290. 10:48done a great job your english is fine
  291. 10:50you seem to understand the program so
  292. 10:52you've already passed the interview so
  293. 10:54you can relax
  294. 10:56last couple of questions uh what are
  295. 10:58some of the fun things you want to do
  296. 11:01once you get to the united states
  297. 11:04uh i am sorry i unders i don't
  298. 11:07understand
  299. 11:08that's okay it's a hard question
  300. 11:11what are some of the things that you
  301. 11:13want to do
  302. 11:14in the united states like go to the

  306. 11:21things that you'd like to do
  307. 11:23i would like to go to local festivals
  308. 11:27and conference and i am planning
  309. 11:31to visit
  310. 11:32new york colorado
  311. 11:34because i like big cities
  312. 11:37and i want to go
  313. 11:40boston because i want to see harvard
  314. 11:43university
  315. 11:47that's great i'm really excited about
  316. 11:49that
  317. 11:51thank you okay
  318. 11:52okay this just um
  319. 11:54we're almost done this brings me back to
  320. 11:56reminding you that it is a cultural
  321. 11:57exchange program um a lot of students
  322. 12:00don't make as enough money to pay back
  323. 12:02but it costs them to get here in the
  324. 12:04first place so do you understand that
  325. 12:06and how do you feel about that yes i
  326. 12:08understand it is a cultural exchange
  327. 12:11program
  328. 12:13i know that i know that
  329. 12:16well uh do you have any questions or
