- 0:00Hey there, guys. Since my last
- 0:01optimization video got taken down, I'm
- 0:03recording a new one for you. We’ve
- 0:05got a new pack here. I'll explain
- 0:07everything in more detail, perhaps show
- 0:09you how to use this pack. And I hope
- 0:12you won't have any questions left.
- 0:14Anyway, the first thing we do is
- 0:15install a clean version of Windows.
- 0:16Ideally, my Windows is already
- 0:17installed and set up, because I don't
- 0:19have the ability to install a clean one
- 0:20right now for a full guide. But I think
- 0:22you'll be able to figure it out
- 0:23yourselves. I will basically show you
- 0:24everything step by step that you need
- 0:26to do. First, we download the Windows
- 0:28image that you'll be using. In my case,
- 0:31it's Windows 11 24H2, and we download
- 0:33Rufus to flash it onto a USB drive.
- 0:36Open Rufus, select your flash drive.
- 0:38Next, just select your Windows image.
- 0:42And set all the settings just like mine
- 0:44. Once you've set the settings, press
- 0:49start. After that, Windows will be
- 0:51installed onto your flash drive. You
- 0:54can immediately go into the flash drive
- 0:55and drop my pack there so you don't
- 0:56have to download it later when you've
- 0:58already installed clean Windows. Let's
- 1:01assume you've already installed clean
- 1:02Windows. What do you need to do next?
- 1:05To start, we go to mouse settings, go
- 1:10here and uncheck this box. It will be
- 1:12enabled by default, so we uncheck it
- 1:14and click apply. Okay. Why is this
- 1:16necessary? This is to disable mouse
- 1:18acceleration so that when you make
- 1:20sudden movements, or flicks, the mouse
- 1:22doesn't adjust anything for you.
- 1:25Basically, this is done by default. I
- 1:26think you all already know about this.
- 1:29So I won't bore you, let's just move on
- 1:31. The next thing you need to do is
- 1:33simply disable your antivirus. You need
- 1:35to go to Windows Security, then click
- 1:37here. You'll have a window here with
- 1:40many different settings. You go in and
- 1:43click on the blue text. Look for
- 1:47real-time protection and turn
- 1:48everything off there. That's it. After
- 1:51that, you can safely move my pack to
- 1:53your desktop without any files being
- 1:54deleted, since your antivirus is turned
- 1:56off. Also, by the way, don't forget to
- 2:00create a backup before doing all this,
- 2:02first of all, and secondly, check
- 2:03Windows for updates. In my case, there
- 2:06are no updates. In your case, once
- 2:08you've installed clean Windows, go
- 2:09straight to check for updates. If there
- 2:11are no updates, then you can start the
- 2:13optimization. If there are updates, you
- 2:16download them, install them, and then
- 2:18proceed with the optimization. So,
- 2:20let's go in order. We have a new pack
- 2:23here. The first thing we do is go to
- 2:25the first tab of Defender Control and
- 2:28open it. Here, we click "Disable
- 2:30Windows Defender." That's it. We just
- 2:33disable the antivirus so it doesn't
- 2:35interfere and doesn't eat up resources
- 2:37in the background. Next, we go to the
- 2:40second tab. Here, we install DirectX by
- 2:43simply running this batch file. We also
- 2:47install the Visual C ++ packages. All
- 2:49the ones I could find are here. You can
- 2:52install them all or just the ones you
- 2:54need; it's completely up to you. There
- 2:56is also an "upran" in this folder, but
- 2:58we'll talk about that a little later.
- 3:00Moving on to the tweaks. Things will be
- 3:04a little more complicated with the
- 3:06tweaks. I will explain which new tweaks
- 3:07are included here. I'll explain what
- 3:09each tweak does. We'll go through each
- 3:12one together, because last time I just
- 3:14breezed through them and said, "Turn
- 3:15this on, turn that on." And that was it
- 3:18. Here we have a description for each
- 3:19tweak. Basically, in every folder,
- 3:21there is a "Readme" file you can read
- 3:23to see what the tweak does and what
- 3:25potential issues might arise. But with
- 3:28most of these tweaks, there won't be
- 3:29any issues at all. Let's do it this way
- 3:31. Spectre Meltdown. Most people won't
- 3:34need it. It disables certain Windows
- 3:36protection components. Ah, take a look.
- 3:41If you disable it on newer PCs, it
- 3:44might lead to a decrease in performance
- 3:47. You should only disable it on super
- 3:50old PCs. As you can see, I wrote here
- 3:52that it applies to Intel below the
- 3:5410,000 series and AMD below the 3,000
- 3:56series. In all other cases, just don't
- 3:59touch this folder, don't touch these
- 4:01tweaks, and skip them. Also, if you
- 4:03decide to disable them, most likely
- 4:05FaceIT anti-cheat won't work. You need
- 4:07to keep that in mind as well. Moving on
- 4:10. System Responsiveness. System
- 4:13Responsiveness handles the locking of
- 4:16CPU reserves. By default, it's set to
- 4:1920%for system tasks. We will lock it at
- 4:2110%to consume fewer resources in the
- 4:23background. Just run this batch file
- 4:26and then this one. Again, there is a
- 4:28Readme file here where everything is
- 4:30written out. Moving on. We enter this
- 4:33folder. Here we have several values for
- 4:36Win32 Priority Separation. Look, this
- 4:40value is actually individual for every
- 4:43PC. You can open this file and read in
- 4:45more detail about all these tweaks. On
- 4:48most PCs, the best values will be
- 4:50either 36 or 40. The default value is
- 4:5326. So if things get worse, just revert
- 4:55to the default values. Let's keep going
- 4:58. Going through the next tweaks. The
- 5:00first is "Delete Windows Defender."
- 5:02What does it do? It rips Windows
- 5:04Defender out of your system by the
- 5:06roots. Whether you should use it or not
- 5:09is up to your discretion. The pro is
- 5:10that you completely gut the defender.
- 5:13The con is, er, that it may interfere
- 5:15with the operation of some anti-cheats.
- 5:20Also, if you have, for instance, an HVC
- 5:23flag on your account in Lanta or you
- 5:25simply need kernel isolation, you won't
- 5:28be able to enable it because Windows
- 5:30Defender has been completely ripped out
- 5:32. Moving on. Disable is just user
- 5:37account control. You turn it off so
- 5:39annoying pop-ups don't appear when
- 5:41running programs as an admin, that's it
- 5:42. Next, SmartScreen. SmartScreen is our
- 5:46real-time protection. Again, we turn it
- 5:48off. MS is also a tweak related to
- 5:51Windows protection. We turn it off.
- 5:54Next, this tweak will disable
- 5:57auto-installation and auto-updating of
- 6:01Microsoft Store apps. We just turn it
- 6:04off. Next, we have two tweaks to remove
- 6:08UWP apps from Windows 11 and Windows 10
- 6:11. Accordingly, depending on your
- 6:13Windows version, choose the one you
- 6:15need. Also, if you wish, you can remove
- 6:19Microsoft Edge if you don't use it. And
- 6:21by the way, I remind you that all these
- 6:23tweaks need to be dragged onto PowerRun
- 6:25. There. Next up is System Tweaks. It
- 6:28simply applies several system
- 6:29parameters. If you are interested in
- 6:31what some parameters do, just go here
- 6:33and select Edit in Notepad. And right
- 6:35here you can see everything it changes.
- 6:39Next is a tweak that disables Game Bar,
- 6:40which no one really needs, and it will
- 6:42only get in the way. And eat up
- 6:47performance. So, just enable it. Next,
- 6:50disable. Look, with the full-screen
- 6:52optimization, some might see
- 6:54performance drop, others might see an
- 6:55improvement; some might get more input
- 6:57lag, some less. You need to keep in
- 7:01mind that if you turn it off, some
- 7:03overlays won't work properly. For
- 7:05example, the Nvidia Overlay might not
- 7:07work properly, and so on. Whether to
- 7:09turn it off or not, decide for yourself
- 7:11. I leave it enabled, but the tweak is
- 7:13there, so you can turn it off. There is
- 7:16also a backup here, so if you want, you
- 7:18can always revert it. And this Registry
- 7:21file, no drivers autoupdate, simply
- 7:23disables the auto-update of drivers
- 7:25that Windows does itself in the
- 7:27background. That is, if you
- 7:29theoretically delete a driver, Windows
- 7:31won't automatically reinstall it
- 7:33without your knowledge. Let's keep
- 7:37going. GPU. Right, we'll stop here for
- 7:41a moment. These tweaks are related to
- 7:43the graphics card and driver
- 7:44installation. The first thing you will
- 7:46need to do is go into DDU and open it
- 7:51as an administrator. By the way, before
- 7:53doing this, you need to type "msconfig"
- 7:55right here, click here, then here,
- 8:00apply, OK, and restart. After that,
- 8:04your system will reboot into safe mode
- 8:07to properly clear out the drivers. Also
- 8:11, you can go to Options here and set
- 8:12everything just like I have. Right here
- 8:18, you will need to select, uh, the
- 8:22device, the component from which you
- 8:25need to remove the driver. Just select
- 8:27GPU. Next, select your graphics card.
- 8:29In my case, it's Nvidia. Click "Clean
- 8:32and restart" right here and remove the
- 8:35driver. After that, your computer will
- 8:38reboot, and it might restart in safe
- 8:41mode. If that happens, just go here and
- 8:43uncheck the "Safe Boot" box. Click OK.
- 8:46That's it. After that, you will start
- 8:50up in normal mode. The driver won't
- 8:52install automatically because we
- 8:54checked the appropriate box in DDU, and
- 8:57also because we disabled automatic
- 8:59driver updates. By Windows itself. Once
- 9:03you have done that, go to NVCleanstall
- 9:06and run it. What do you need to do here
- 9:09? First, check this box, select this
- 9:12option, and choose the latest desktop
- 9:15driver version here. Once that's done,
- 9:19click Next. Select the components you
- 9:21need here. If you need NVIDIA,
- 9:23ShadowPlay, or want to record clips,
- 9:25you can choose accordingly. I don't
- 9:27need that. I recommend just installing
- 9:30the basic driver and using OBS for
- 9:32clips or recording. These are my
- 9:35settings. You can choose your own.
- 9:37Click Next. After that, your driver
- 9:42files will be downloaded. Once those
- 9:48files are downloaded, you will be taken
- 9:51to a window like this. Check the boxes
- 9:54just like mine and don't touch anything
- 9:58else. Next, click Next. Just click "
- 10:01Install" here, and the driver will
- 10:03install automatically without any
- 10:05further action or help from you. As
- 10:07soon as the driver is installed, close
- 10:09the installer and open CRU. Open CRU.
- 10:14What do you need to do here? First, you
- 10:17need to click the "None" button here
- 10:19because some resolutions will be
- 10:21highlighted. Click "Delete all" here,
- 10:25go here, then "TV resolutions," and
- 10:28click "Delete all" there as well. OK.
- 10:32OK. After we have removed all
- 10:34unnecessary resolutions, we can move on
- 10:36to setting your own resolutions. How do
- 10:39we do that? We go here, to "Detailed
- 10:41resolutions." And here, either edit the
- 10:44resolution that's there by default or
- 10:46create a new one. How is that done?
- 10:48Look, for example, let me delete this
- 10:51resolution and add a new one. What do
- 10:53we do? We click "Add." Next, in this
- 10:56window here, select either "Exact" or "
- 10:59Exact Reduced." Look, you should only
- 11:02really mess with CRU if you need to
- 11:04adjust your refresh rate. If your
- 11:08refresh rate is quite high, "Exact
- 11:10Reduced" works for most monitors,
- 11:12because with "Exact," your monitor
- 11:15might just not turn on, and you'd have
- 11:17to reinstall Windows or unplug the
- 11:20DisplayPort and use an HDMI cable
- 11:22instead. There. So, choose "Exact
- 11:25Reduced," set your resolution—in my
- 11:27case, I'll set this one. And set the
- 11:29maximum monitor refresh rate that you
- 11:31need. In my case, it's 240 Hz. That's
- 11:35it. Click "OK." I'll select "Exact."
- 11:38There. Click "OK." After we've done
- 11:42that, click "OK" here as well, and run
- 11:45"restart64" as administrator. After
- 11:47this, your driver will restart. If your
- 11:49image returns, then everything is good,
- 11:51and you've done it correctly. If you go
- 11:53into Display settings, you can see that
- 11:56you only have one refresh rate, which
- 11:58is your custom one, and there won't be
- 12:00any unnecessary resolutions. There. If
- 12:04you just have a black screen for quite
- 12:07a long time after clicking "restart64,"
- 12:10you need to press F8, boot into safe
- 12:13mode, and then, in safe mode, run this
- 12:16"reset-all" file as administrator,
- 12:18which will reset all settings to
- 12:21default. After that, just boot back
- 12:25into normal mode and don't touch CRU,
- 12:27because it's possible it’s simply
- 12:29incompatible with your monitor. What's
- 12:32next? Nvidia Profile Inspector, as well
- 12:34as my file. Nvidia Profile Inspector is
- 12:38used to configure GPU settings in the
- 12:41driver and Nvidia Control Panel in more
- 12:44detail, as well as to quickly apply
- 12:47your settings via a profile. You just
- 12:51take it, drag and drop the profile, and
- 12:54it imports automatically. That's it.
- 12:57Let's move on. Power plans. There's a
- 13:00lot here, various power plans. You can
- 13:03read this file; there's a link to a
- 13:05more detailed guide, so I won't cover
- 13:08that in this video. If you just need a
- 13:11good power plan, set it to "High
- 13:13Performance." This is the default
- 13:16Windows power plan, with which
- 13:17everything will generally be fine. You
- 13:19most likely won't need anything more;
- 13:21just select it here and forget about it
- 13:24. Also, power throttling. Select this
- 13:27file here and run it, thereby disabling
- 13:32power throttling. But only do this on a
- 13:37PC, because on laptops, it can cause
- 13:39overheating and instability. Next, we
- 13:42move on to services. To work with
- 13:44services, you will need System Informer
- 13:46or Process Hacker. Choose whichever you
- 13:48prefer. They are essentially the same
- 13:50thing. Download and run it. What do we
- 13:53have here? Here, you will find a
- 13:56shortcut to download Process Hacker or
- 13:58System Informer, as well as this text
- 14:00file with the services. What will you
- 14:03need to do? You run the executable and
- 14:05see what services are listed here. Next
- 14:07, in System Informer, you also select
- 14:10services. There. And just one by one,
- 14:13turn off the services that we have
- 14:16listed here. For example, our first
- 14:18service. So we take it, and type it
- 14:20into the search bar here. Right-click
- 14:24on it and select properties. And right
- 14:27here, set the start type to disabled.
- 14:30That's it. We do this for all these
- 14:32services. There is no point, guys, in
- 14:36turning off every single service on
- 14:38your computer, because some services
- 14:40have dependencies that will ping them.
- 14:43And because of that, if they ping and
- 14:46the service is disabled, your event
- 14:48logs will simply be flooded with
- 14:50various errors. You might experience
- 14:53stutters, lag, or screen tearing. So
- 14:56just don't turn off services if you
- 14:59don't know what they do. Turn off these
- 15:02specific ones; they most likely won't
- 15:04affect anything. The only exceptions
- 15:07are this service, this one, and also
- 15:11Spooler. The Spooler service is
- 15:13responsible for the printer. So if you
- 15:15need a printer, leave it on, as noted
- 15:17here. And if you happen to need updates
- 15:20or the Microsoft Store, you keep those
- 15:22enabled as well. But overall, if
- 15:24something stops working, you can always
- 15:27revert these services. Moving on. After
- 15:32you have disabled all these services,
- 15:34we move on to Affinity. Look, you
- 15:37should only consider this step if you
- 15:41have eight or more CPU cores. If you
- 15:45have fewer than eight cores, just skip
- 15:47this step and move on to the next. If
- 15:49you have eight cores or more, then stay
- 15:51tuned. Look, first you will need to
- 15:54disable SMT or Hyper-Threading in the
- 15:57BIOS. What is that? It's when you get
- 15:59an extra thread for every core, so
- 16:01instead of eight cores and eight
- 16:03threads, you would have, for example,
- 16:05eight cores and 16 threads. This is
- 16:08good for multi-threaded tasks, but in
- 16:10games, it can decrease performance and
- 16:12also significantly increase
- 16:13temperatures. So if you want to lower
- 16:17temperatures and get better performance
- 16:19in games, just disable SMT or
- 16:21Hyper-Threading. The first thing we
- 16:25need to do here is go into Auto GPU
- 16:27Affinity. Run it here, press Enter, and
- 16:31it will pick the best core for your
- 16:33graphics card. In my case, it was the
- 16:37fourth core. You can tell by the number
- 16:41of green numbers in the final window.
- 16:46You should mostly look at the 1%low and
- 16:510.1%low values. These are the main
- 16:54values you should pay attention to.
- 16:56Accordingly, the core with the best
- 16:58value will likely be the best for your
- 17:00graphics card. Next. Reserve CPU sets.
- 17:05We won't touch this for now, just let
- 17:06it stay right here. Here you will need
- 17:10to run these two batch files as
- 17:12administrator. Then you need to go to
- 17:15local disk C, the Windows folder, and
- 17:18drop these two files there. Just drop
- 17:20them right into the Windows folder and
- 17:22that's it. Then open this file via
- 17:27PowerShell so that these settings are
- 17:29applied automatically every time
- 17:32Windows starts. We've sorted out the
- 17:35scheduled mode. Moving on. Interrupt
- 17:38Affinity Tools. It is needed to bind
- 17:42each device to a specific core. Open it
- 17:46as administrator. Look, after you run
- 17:50the test in Auto GPU Affinity Tool and
- 17:53find out which core is best for your
- 17:56GPU, find your graphics card here. Here
- 18:00it is. Click Set Mask and select the
- 18:03best core for it. In my case, it was
- 18:04the fourth one. And click OK. After
- 18:07that, this error appears. Click OK here
- 18:09and then click. OK. That's it. Look,
- 18:14you need to do the same thing with the
- 18:17USB controller that your mouse and
- 18:19keyboard are connected to. How to find
- 18:22out which controller they are connected
- 18:24to? Right-click the Windows button and
- 18:28go to Device Manager. Here you select
- 18:32devices by connection and open this tab
- 18:38. And here you need to find which USB
- 18:41controller your mouse and keyboard are
- 18:43connected to. Just open them up
- 18:45gradually like this. If there isn't
- 18:47another arrow here, nothing is
- 18:48connected to it. But something is
- 18:50already connected to this controller.
- 18:52And accordingly, we see here's the
- 18:53mouse, here's the keyboard in my case.
- 18:55What do we need to do? The controller
- 18:57they are connected to, right-click it
- 19:00and go to properties. Here it says PCI
- 19:03bus 15 device 0 function 4. What do we
- 19:07need to do with this? We will look for
- 19:11the USB controller here with the same
- 19:14values. Just look for it. And as soon
- 19:25as we find it, click Set Mask and
- 19:27assign it a different core. Click OK.
- 19:30OK. No. Okay. That’s it, we’re done
- 19:35with Inter Affinity Policy Tools.
- 19:38However, your keyboard and mouse might
- 19:40be connected to different controllers.
- 19:44In that case, you will either need to
- 19:46find another controller and connect it
- 19:48to the same core, or you will need to
- 19:50plug them into a single controller.
- 19:54Most likely, these will be the
- 19:55motherboard slots that are located
- 19:57close to each other. Moving on. You can
- 20:03click here and exit. MSI Mode Utility.
- 20:07In the MSI Mode Utility, you will need
- 20:08to do the following. First, set a high
- 20:12priority for your network adapter here.
- 20:15Like this. So, high priority; by the
- 20:18way, we need to run this utility for
- 20:20your network adapter, for the NVMe
- 20:23Express controller, if you have one,
- 20:28also for the SATA AHCI controller, and
- 20:31for the USB controller that your
- 20:34keyboard and mouse are connected to, to
- 20:38be precise. Again, in my case, we look
- 20:41at these values here: PCI Bus 15,
- 20:43Device 0, Function 4. We take this
- 20:46controller and set its priority to "
- 20:48High". After that, click "Apply" and
- 20:51exit. Here you can look at various text
- 20:55files. For example, here is a text file
- 20:58with my settings. And now, let’s
- 21:00figure out how to bind our network
- 21:03adapter driver to specific cores. Type
- 21:07"regedit". Go here and copy this path.
- 21:13Next, paste it right here. So, erase
- 21:16this and paste it in. Then look for the
- 21:20folder that contains your network
- 21:22adapter. You can find it by its name.
- 21:26Just scroll through here and look. Not
- 21:28in this one, not in this one. In my
- 21:30case, I believe it was 0012, right?
- 21:32There it is. "DriverDesc: Realtek
- 21:35Gaming Family Controller". And here you
- 21:38need to add two values. The first value
- 21:43is a string parameter with this name.
- 21:48What does it do? It will bind your
- 21:51network adapter driver to a specific
- 21:54core. See how it works best for you. It
- 21:59needs to be tested; it varies on
- 22:00different systems. In my case, it works
- 22:03best on the sixth core. So, we create a
- 22:05string parameter. Like this: "New". And
- 22:08"String Value". And we give it this
- 22:11name. In my case, here it is: "
- 22:14RSSBaseProcessorNumber" with a value.
- 22:19Next, we create another string
- 22:21parameter, give it this name, and set
- 22:24its value to two. But only do this if
- 22:30you saw in the MSI Mode Utility that
- 22:32MSI-X is supported on your network
- 22:34adapter. If MSI-X isn't there, just
- 22:37skip this step. Anyway, I was editing
- 22:41the video and noticed I forgot to
- 22:42mention something. First of all, about
- 22:44"Auto," we can just go into it after
- 22:46we’ve already finished setting
- 22:48everything up and installing. And right
- 22:50here in services, you can turn off the
- 22:52ones you don't need. I often recommend
- 22:54disabling the services responsible for
- 22:56updates. They are usually named with "
- 22:59Update" at the end or "Elevation
- 23:01Service." Just disable all these
- 23:03services, and everything will be fine.
- 23:06Moving on. I also forgot to mention
- 23:10something about Affinity. Go in here
- 23:15and select "Reserve CPUs." After you've
- 23:20configured everything here, go to "
- 23:23Reserve CPUs" and select the cores
- 23:26you've assigned your drivers to, so
- 23:29that nothing else runs on those cores
- 23:32besides your driver. Overall, that’s
- 23:36it. I don't really have anything else
- 23:38to add. Guys. Moving on. Windows
- 23:43Updates. Here you can simply block
- 23:45updates so they don't bother you, but I
- 23:47prefer to do it in the settings. I mean
- 23:49, I go into Windows Update, select "
- 23:51Pause for 5 weeks" like this, and they
- 23:53just get blocked. If you block them
- 23:56here, the Microsoft Store might break,
- 23:58but you can fix it by simply turning
- 23:59these updates back on. Whether to do
- 24:02this or not is your decision. Overall,
- 24:04that’s probably everything I can tell
- 24:06you about optimization. I could also
- 24:08show you the Nvidia Control Panel
- 24:10settings. You can just set everything
- 24:15the way I have it, though most of the
- 24:21settings will be applied automatically
- 24:24when you use the profile in Nvidia
- 24:26Profile Inspector. In general, that's
- 24:54all. It turned out to be a fairly short
- 24:57video, but I’ve improved the pack
- 24:59compared to my previous videos, and I
- 25:01believe this pack is the most
- 25:03up-to-date and correct one, which won't
- 25:05break your system while giving you the
- 25:07best performance. To everyone who liked
- 25:10the video, thanks for watching. Like
- 25:12the video, subscribe to the channel,
- 25:14and please show some activity. If you
- 25:17have any questions, you can reach out
- 25:19to me on Telegram or VK; I usually
- 25:21reply everywhere. If you need personal
- 25:25optimization help from me, again, write
- 25:27to me on Telegram or VK, and you can
- 25:29purchase it for a fee. Overall, that's
- 25:32it. Thanks to everyone for watching.
- 25:34Bye everyone.
