  1. 0:00I've been wearing barefoot shoes for
  2. 0:01well over 3 years however a couple of
  3. 0:03months ago I started to experience some
  4. 0:05pain in my feet now I think this was due
  5. 0:07to the shoes minimal tread so I decided
  6. 0:09to try a more cushion shoe and spoiler
  7. 0:11alert it didn't go too well so after
  8. 0:13months of looking online I think I may
  9. 0:15have finally found the solution to all
  10. 0:16our
  11. 0:17problems look what just arrived now a
  12. 0:20few of you commented on my last video
  13. 0:22telling me to check out Ultra shoes so I
  14. 0:24decided to check out Ultra
  15. 0:26shoes now this is the ultra loone Peak 7
  16. 0:29and this is actually trail running shoe
  17. 0:31however the woman in the shop did say
  18. 0:32that people do use this as an everyday
  19. 0:34shoe and the extra tread on the bottom
  20. 0:36should help prevent my foot pain that
  21. 0:38I've been experiencing aesthetically I
  22. 0:39don't think the shoe is too bad it's
  23. 0:41water resistant which is going to be
  24. 0:42good for the winter is also zero drop
  25. 0:45and has a wide toe box not quite sure
  26. 0:48what what that is for maybe we'll find
  27. 0:50out later I will talk about Ultra shoes
  28. 0:52in more detail later in the video how
  29. 0:54for now it's the usual protocol of
  30. 0:55trying out the shoes for the next 30
  31. 0:57days and then I'll will report back to
  32. 0:59you with my find endings so I guess that
  33. 1:01leaves us with only one thing left to do
  34. 1:03put on the shoes head out the door make
  35. 1:05an overly elaborate unnecessary Montage
  36. 1:07of me wearing the shoes so I headed out
  37. 1:09the door full of Gusto and excitement
  38. 1:11dreaming of walking and skipping
  39. 1:13painfree everything seemed to be going
  40. 1:15so well however there was one major
  41. 1:17problem that the astute of you may have
  42. 1:18already
  43. 1:20noticed so it's been about 2 weeks since
  44. 1:22I got the shoes and this time in the
  45. 1:24last video we already thrown in the
  46. 1:26towel so so far we're winning however
  47. 1:28the slight problem some of you may have
  48. 1:29noticed from the Montage is I bought the
  49. 1:31wrong size shoe they didn't have my size
  50. 1:33in store but the lady suggested I try
  51. 1:35half a size up and they felt good but
  52. 1:37the moment I got them home and tried
  53. 1:39them on they felt like canoes so I went
  54. 1:41back and switched them for my size in a
  55. 1:42different color so now I've got the
  56. 1:44green ones and I think I actually prefer
  57. 1:46them one of my favorite features about
  58. 1:47the shoes are the pool tags here so you
  59. 1:50don't have to undo your laces you can
  60. 1:51just slip them on and for those of you
  61. 1:54wondering what size you need to get your
  62. 1:55Ultra Lone Peak sevs in it's your your
  63. 1:58regular shoe size so far the shoes are
  64. 2:00going really well I haven't experienced
  65. 2:02any knee or foot pain wearing the shoes
  66. 2:04and they're really comfy so I think
  67. 2:06before we get to the final review we
  68. 2:07should talk a little bit more about what
  69. 2:09are Ultra shoes Ultra is a company
  70. 2:11started by two friends who were into
  71. 2:13running and looking for inative ways to
  72. 2:15improve their Footwear the Innovative
  73. 2:17design started with widening the laces
  74. 2:18around the toe box to give the foot more
  75. 2:20room to breathe as well as heating the
  76. 2:22shoe in the oven and cutting off the
  77. 2:24heal essentially making a makeshift zero
  78. 2:26drop shoe the shoes quickly gain
  79. 2:28popularity in their community
  80. 2:30Ultra shoes were born they now offer a
  81. 2:32wide range of running shoes that zero
  82. 2:34drop and have a wide toe box so
  83. 2:36basically a Barefoot esque style of shoe
  84. 2:38have they have extra cushion and extra
  85. 2:40tread for example if you compare my
  86. 2:42ultral Lone Peak 7 which has a stack
  87. 2:44height of 25 mm to of ha shoes which has
  88. 2:47a stack height of 10 mm that is almost 2
  89. 2:50and 1/2 times the Extra Protection
  90. 2:52underneath your foot and I think that is
  91. 2:53the main reason why I haven't
  92. 2:54experienced any foot pain also because
  93. 2:56of the zero drop they keep your body in
  94. 2:58alignment if you compare me side by side
  95. 3:00with my Knik on you can see the Knik
  96. 3:03pushed my body out of its natural
  97. 3:04alignment and I think this is the main
  98. 3:06reason why I was getting knee pain
  99. 3:07wearing the kns and I no longer get the
  100. 3:09knee pain wearing the ultra shoes right
  101. 3:11I think we're finally ready for the
  102. 3:13final review Now quickly to reiterate
  103. 3:15the reason why I wanted to stop wearing
  104. 3:16barefoot shoes is the past couple of
  105. 3:18months they've been giving me a lot of
  106. 3:19foot pain when I'm walking now some
  107. 3:21people in the comments have said that
  108. 3:22you need to become more adapted to wear
  109. 3:24barefoot shoes but I remind them I've
  110. 3:26been wearing barefoot shoes for over 3
  111. 3:28years now and also of people saying that
  112. 3:30I'm walking incorrectly however for 2
  113. 3:32and 1/2 years I didn't feel any pain in
  114. 3:34barefoot shoes it was after about 6
  115. 3:36months of living in the city and walking
  116. 3:38on concrete all day that the foot pain
  117. 3:40started to occur now on to the ultra
  118. 3:42shoes they did feel a little bit tight
  119. 3:44the first one or two days of wearing
  120. 3:46them however I believe this is probably
  121. 3:47more due to my extra wide hobbit feet
  122. 3:49from being Barefoot for so long and
  123. 3:51after a few days they broke in and they
  124. 3:53now feel like slippers so I think my
  125. 3:55main problem wearing barefoot shoes and
  126. 3:57living in a city is that the soul wears
  127. 3:59down too quickly under the ball of the
  128. 4:01feet specifically and that's where the
  129. 4:03pain in my foot is my ultra shoes are
  130. 4:05comfortable but I did put my barefoot
  131. 4:07shoes on when I was at the gym the other
  132. 4:08day and barefoot shoes are more
  133. 4:10comfortable to me and because of the
  134. 4:11extra tread as well you also lose the
  135. 4:14connection with the ground so the first
  136. 4:15couple of days it does feel a little bit
  137. 4:17awkward walking around in the shoes
  138. 4:19However the fact that I haven't felt any
  139. 4:20pain in any part of my body over the
  140. 4:22past 30 days pretty much means that I'm
  141. 4:24converted to wearing these now how will
  142. 4:26switching from barefoot shoes affect me
  143. 4:28in the future I have no idea here I
  144. 4:30guess we'll just have to wait and see
