  2. 0:02because once you've got the ballistics experts,
  3. 0:04you've got the new FBI, and it's almost, what?
  4. 0:07It's over 20 years later.
  5. 0:09They find the gun.
  6. 0:11First, they lost the gun, then accused Bryan
  7. 0:12Stevenson of stealing the gun--
  8. 0:14they find the gun, and they realize,
  9. 0:17beyond a shadow of a doubt, those bullets could
  10. 0:20not have come from the gun.
  11. 0:22And that the whole thing was a sham.

  15. 0:31I never will forget, he came down to the prison,
  16. 0:34and he said, Ray the judges in Alabama
  17. 0:37is not going to do the right thing.
  18. 0:40And he said, we'll have to take this case to the United
  19. 0:42States Supreme Court.
  20. 0:44But he said, I need to tell you something.
  21. 0:47And he said, if they rule against you,
  22. 0:52the state of Alabama will execute you within two years.
  23. 0:57And believe it or not, hearing it was somewhat of a relief.
  24. 1:02Because it could be over.
  25. 1:04I was tired of sitting. I was tired of--
  26. 1:05OPRAH WINFREY: Yeah.
  27. 1:06--being in this cage.
  28. 1:08And I said, Mr. Stevenson, file my case.
