WHO'S THE MOST STELLAR SKULLGIRL? — Transcript

1. 0:00Skull Girls. For those of you guys who
2. 0:02don't know the game, let me give you a
3. 0:03very basic TLDDR. Skull Girls is a
4. 0:04fighting game about horror themed girly
5. 0:07pops that are fighting for something
6. 0:08known as the Skull Hearts that grants
7. 0:10wishes. I actually played this game when
8. 0:12it first came out and I'm decently well
9. 0:15versed in it. I have not seen the latest
10. 0:16DLCs, but up to like Eliza I played. So,
11. 0:20I want to talk about the character
12. 0:20designs in Skull Girls, but I want to do
13. 0:22this as like a ranking. My favorite
14. 0:24designs, the ones that I consider the
15. 0:25best from bottom to top. I was
16. 0:27originally going to do a Smasher Pass,
17. 0:29but um a lot of the characters in this
18. 0:31game are just deadass children, and I
19. 0:33was like, "No, that's going to be
20. 0:34annoying." So, let's just talk about the
21. 0:36designs. Let's talk about which ones I
22. 0:37consider the best and why, and which
23. 0:39ones I don't like as much and why. So,
24. 0:42yeah, let's get into it.
25. 0:43>> Quiet on the set, ladies and gentlemen.
26. 0:45It's showtime.
27. 0:46>> Starting with my rank number 18. My
28. 0:49least favorite, you could say.
29. 0:50>> Hi. Why is your hair so weird? Do you
30. 0:52want to fight
31. 0:52>> Umbrella? Now, Umbrella was introduced
32. 0:54as a DLC, and while her design is cool,
33. 0:58I wish they would have done a little bit
34. 0:59more with it. The focal point of her
35. 1:01design is dead as her umbrella, but she
36. 1:03has some interesting lore, I wish she
37. 1:04had a little bit more than just the
38. 1:06cutesy raincoat and that's it. Although,
39. 1:08I do understand why it's not super
40. 1:11elaborate on the outfit because the
41. 1:12umbrella has to be the showstopper here.
42. 1:14Yeah, the umbrella itself is awesome. I
43. 1:16love the color scheme on it. And again,
44. 1:17I like the contrast between like the
45. 1:19light yellow and like the weird dark
46. 1:20elish umbrella. She's super cute. Not my
47. 1:23favorite design, but a cute character on
48. 1:25the list fits within the skull girl's
49. 1:26vibe. Ranking number 17 for Lily is.
50. 1:30Now, Peacock has one of the most badass
51. 1:32designs, but there are certain things
52. 1:33about her that I don't particularly
53. 1:35love. I do love the rubber hose
54. 1:37aesthetic. I think she's [ __ ]
55. 1:38awesome, but I wish we could have seen
56. 1:40maybe an older version of this character
57. 1:43and something a little bit more horror
58. 1:45[music] when it comes to like how weird
59. 1:47her arms are with the eyes. I would have
60. 1:49made the eyes bigger. I might would have
61. 1:50made them stand out a little bit more.
62. 1:51She's a very interesting character,
63. 1:52don't get me wrong. And I think that
64. 1:53she's a really funny one. But I think
65. 1:56that in terms of design, we could have
66. 1:58gone bigger. We could have done things a
67. 1:59little bit goofier. What I do love about
68. 2:01it though is that it has a really strong
69. 2:03silhouette. It's very funny. Like I can
70. 2:05I could recognize Peacock from like a
71. 2:07billion miles away just from like the
72. 2:09hunch pose and the super long arms
73. 2:12alone. She also has a really really
74. 2:14clean color scheme. Just like four
75. 2:16colors, easy peasy. The brightest color
76. 2:18being the accent on the eyes. It's very
77. 2:19eye-catching and it's also super fun. I
78. 2:21have played Peacock's campaign though.
79. 2:23She has one of the most [ __ ] up
80. 2:24backstories out of all of them while
81. 2:26having a very distinctively sunny
82. 2:27personality while also being kind of
83. 2:29psychotic. And I think that shows in the
84. 2:31design. It shows that like she's just
85. 2:33not all there mentally, but she's having
86. 2:35a good time. So that's fine. Doesn't
87. 2:36matter. My ranking for number 16 would
88. 2:38be
89. 2:41Big Ben. I'm sorry Big Ben people. I
90. 2:44think he's dope. I think that the design
91. 2:46is really striking. It has a super
92. 2:48strong silhouette. I don't know a lot
93. 2:50about him though, sadly because I didn't
94. 2:51get to play his campaign. But what I can
95. 2:53tell you of the design is the design is
96. 2:55baller. You know how I talked about it's
97. 2:57very difficult to make designs based off
98. 2:59objects. Big Ben is an example of it
99. 3:02done right through silhouette alone and
100. 3:04some very key design elements. They did
101. 3:06manage to make an instrument into a
102. 3:07person. Not to mention making him a very
103. 3:09very bulky presence as well. I also love
104. 3:12that his [ __ ] trench coat is a part
105. 3:14of it. He also has like his little
106. 3:15fedora and part of the instrument is
107. 3:17connected to his face. Everything about
108. 3:19Big Band genuinely does scream musical,
109. 3:22but it's not dainty or alluring or like
110. 3:26subtle music like someone like Eliza or
111. 3:28Squiggly who are performers. Big Band is
112. 3:30here.
113. 3:31>> Big He's not my favorite character in
114. 3:33the roster, but he does have a very
115. 3:34striking design, which is why I [music]
116. 3:36do enjoy this one quite a bit. And he's
117. 3:38also one of the guy units, of which
118. 3:40there's not many. NUMBER 15,
119. 3:42[screaming and groaning]
120. 3:43PAIN WHEEL. OKAY, Carol's design. It's a
121. 3:46horror master class. But she's so
122. 3:49offputting. She's one of the few
123. 3:50characters that actually kind of gives
124. 3:51me the [ __ ] heeie-jeebies in the
125. 3:53Skull Girls cast. And like her story is
126. 3:56so sad, too. She has such a cool concept
127. 3:59because she resembles a zombie, but
128. 4:01she's alive. But it's such a strong
129. 4:04almost ghoulish concept. They did such a
130. 4:07good job from like the wheel coming out
131. 4:09of her back and the fact that she has to
132. 4:10hunch over from from how heavy it
133. 4:12probably is because it like affects her
134. 4:13spine. The nails sticking out of like
135. 4:16her shoulders and her hips, the big
136. 4:18cuffs, the dark nail polish, the really
137. 4:20really big hands and feet. Uh the like
138. 4:23mass-like face and the nails sticking
139. 4:24out of her skull as well. Like it's
140. 4:26every bit a tortured character and
141. 4:28that's why it gives me the
142. 4:29heebie-jebies, but it's super well
143. 4:31realized. This is one of the few units
144. 4:32in Skull Girls that I don't say, "Ooh,
145. 4:34that one looks kind of sexy." Because
146. 4:35like sex appeal was definitely a big
147. 4:36part of the marketing with this game,
148. 4:38but you know what? This is where the
149. 4:40horror aspect of Skull Girls really
150. 4:42[music] shines, even though it gives me
151. 4:44the ookie spookies. Number 14. I thought
152. 4:47clowns were funny. Fukua, I mean, it's
153. 4:50just a recolor. And I found that to be
154. 4:53kind of dull, even if she does have a
155. 4:55different quote unquote uh concept. When
156. 4:58it comes to making characters for
157. 4:59fighting games, I do feel like the clone
158. 5:01characters are always kind of not my
159. 5:03favorite. I've always wanted them to
160. 5:04have unique designs. So, I wish they had
161. 5:06done something more unique with Fukua.
162. 5:08She has an April Fool's character and
163. 5:09which is why she's in here. She is in
164. 5:10the game. Like, you're still in 14.
165. 5:12You're still above a lot of other
166. 5:13characters cuz Felia's hot. All right.
167. 5:15That's the only reason you win cuz
168. 5:17Felia's [ __ ] fat thighs save lives.

172. 5:25>> Marie, this is one of the coolest
173. 5:27designs in this franchise. The only
174. 5:30reason she's lower on the ranking is cuz
175. 5:31we don't get to see a lot of her. I know
176. 5:33that she is going to be added to the
177. 5:34game if she hasn't been already, but
178. 5:36like she had such a strong concept from
179. 5:40the get- go, right? She's like the
180. 5:42current holder of the skull heart. I
181. 5:44love a battle maid. You guys know this
182. 5:45about me, but a battle maid with skulls
183. 5:49and a really strong skeleton and horror
184. 5:51motif, it just sent my heart a flutter.

186. 5:53I love Marie. I wish she had a little
187. 5:55bit of an older design, but like knowing
188. 5:57her backstory, I get why they made her
189. 5:59so young. It's also such a clean
190. 6:01concept. She doesn't have a ton of
191. 6:03embellishment and a ton of like [ __ ]
192. 6:04design stuff because her boss fight has
193. 6:07a lot of detail. So, the base like
194. 6:09[ __ ] character design had to be like
195. 6:11very simple. But the design is super
196. 6:13solid though. Half her rib cage is
197. 6:15missing. She has like the skulls on her
198. 6:17twin tails. The [ __ ] vacuum cleaner
199. 6:19as a part of her kit. It's awesome.
200. 6:21NUMBER 12, BABY. OOH, blood tingly.
201. 6:25Okay, Black Dalia. I actually really
202. 6:27like this design, but I don't know a lot
203. 6:29about the character cuz I don't actually
204. 6:30get to play with her. I think she's
205. 6:31named after a very famous murder case
206. 6:34that happened like in LA like a
207. 6:35bajillion years ago. The thing I like
208. 6:37about her is how [ __ ] classy and [ __ ]
209. 6:40sexy she looks. I would immediat she
210. 6:42would kill me but I would smash. There
211. 6:44is such an old Hollywood glamour to this
212. 6:48character and I know why. It's because
213. 6:49of the [ __ ] murder case that the
214. 6:50character is based off which was very
215. 6:52much old Hollywood inspired that it just
216. 6:56really stands out. Like the really long
217. 6:58dress, the fancy hat, the cool cape, the
218. 7:00opera length gloves. Like it's such a
219. 7:02[ __ ] good one. She's the doom guy OF
220. 7:04SKULL GIRLS. OH, she's the one that
221. 7:07murdered Squiggly. No way. A [ __ ]
222. 7:09[ __ ] Oh, then we hate her because
223. 7:11Quigley is like one of my favorite
224. 7:12characters. The design is so baller.
225. 7:14Wait, is that going to part of her arm?
226. 7:16Oh, no, it is. We lost the arm. The face
227. 7:19is also super sinister. Like, it's a
228. 7:21veil and but you can see like one eye.
229. 7:24And the hairstyle is super [ __ ] cool.
230. 7:26I don't like that she's mean, but the
231. 7:27design is so [ __ ] baller. 11.
232. 7:31>> I'll kick Uranus. Who green lit this?
233. 7:34So, Annie has a really cool design, but
234. 7:36a very simple one. Annie's one of those
235. 7:38characters that I never really
236. 7:39understood what her deal is. I know
237. 7:41she's supposed to be like a movie star,
238. 7:43but other than that, I'm not quite
239. 7:45getting what the deal with this
240. 7:47character is. I'm not seeing a lot of
241. 7:49horror here. It's still a very, very
242. 7:51solid design. I love her props and I
243. 7:53love her Bonoi and her color scheme is
244. 7:54so [ __ ] nice and she looks done with
245. 7:57the universe which is very very fun. Her
246. 7:58mother became a skull girl and her wish
247. 8:00was for Annie to be a kid forever. Oh,
248. 8:01that's horrifying. The one thing about
249. 8:03Annie that I wish I could see more of is
250. 8:05that horror element that is present with
251. 8:07most skull girls. She doesn't look that
252. 8:10scary or scary adjacent. The only thing
253. 8:11that kind of looks scary adjacent is her
254. 8:13like bonui, but that's not like on her
255. 8:15person if that makes sense. Honest to
256. 8:17God though, a pretty solid one
257. 8:18regardless. I do really like the
258. 8:20silhouette for this. I think it's very
259. 8:21clean, very crisp. Nothing super
260. 8:23complicated, but nothing super simple
261. 8:25either. It gets the point across that
262. 8:27she is some sort of magical being, but
263. 8:29it doesn't give me famous actress. We're
264. 8:32getting to the good [ __ ] We're getting
265. 8:34to the top 10, baby.
266. 8:36>> I am 287 lbs of folded steel and sex
267. 8:40appeal.
268. 8:40>> He's in here because he's hot.
269. 8:44There's two wien.
270. 8:47And he's hot. He throws chairs, chat.
271. 8:50He's sexy. He's werewolf daddy coated. I
272. 8:53like Bill Wolf. I love his [ __ ]
273. 8:55motif. You can immediately tell that
274. 8:56he's werewolf coated from the [ __ ]
275. 8:59arm hair alone. And then they gave him
276. 9:02like this giant wolf hood and like fuzzy
277. 9:04bits on his outfit. Like he's a
278. 9:06wrestler, right? They could have made
279. 9:08him really scruffy in the hair, but they
280. 9:10just decided to give him a lot of body
281. 9:11hair and that's it. It's horror coded.
282. 9:14And also we got a wien. I know that the
283. 9:16game is called Skull Girls, but they had
284. 9:17to put one in eventually. Number nine.
285. 9:20>> What am I fighting for?
286. 9:21>> So, I like Fortune a lot because Catgirl
287. 9:24and I do think that Robo Fortune is a
288. 9:26phenomenally good design cuz Fortune's
289. 9:28thing is being able to split apart,
290. 9:30right? But with like the robot one, they
291. 9:32just made it super funny. Robo Fortune
292. 9:34is way more angular than Fortune. She's
293. 9:37way more harsh. Her color scheme is
294. 9:39really cold. And she's not nearly as
295. 9:42like happy golucky. She's way more
296. 9:44robotic, if that makes sense. Every
297. 9:46fighting game has a robot character chat
298. 9:48and I think it looks baller. All right.
299. 9:51Meow. Number eight, baby.
300. 9:56>> Your world ends ever closer.
301. 9:58>> Now, a lot of you people would be like,
302. 10:00Lily, why? But like, have you seen the
303. 10:02nun form? Have you guys seen the amount
304. 10:03of [ __ ] weird [ __ ] double can do? No,
305. 10:06I'm not biased. You're biased. This is
306. 10:08one of the most creative character
307. 10:09designs, and Skull Girl is one of the
308. 10:11best. It's phenomenal in how [ __ ]
309. 10:13off-putting and ooky spooky it is.
310. 10:15Double was a big inspiration for my
311. 10:18character. So, I'm obviously going to be
312. 10:20a little bit of a huge fan of it.
313. 10:23Everything about Double is phenomenal.
314. 10:24From the religious iconography that they
315. 10:26[ __ ] destroyed to make this character
316. 10:28to the very very clear references to The
317. 10:29Thing, the overt body horror that's
318. 10:32still very much cartoony and the way
319. 10:33that it's animated. If you guys have
320. 10:35ever seen Double in Motion, you will
321. 10:36know immediately like her idols that
322. 10:39goosebumps. But it's such a good design.
323. 10:42Just has a great move set that she can
324. 10:43like imitate people and whatnot. For me,
325. 10:45double is again horror design
326. 10:48masterclass. And this is what really
327. 10:50shines about scholars to me is when they
328. 10:52manage to take something that's scary,
329. 10:53but like you know, they still gave it to
330. 10:55it. [laughter]
331. 10:58I would the double. I'm sorry. I would
332. 11:00get annihilated or we would just melt
333. 11:02together cuz we're like similar. Like
334. 11:03I'm space buddy. But still, I would
335. 11:05double. Number seven. No mercy. Voila.
336. 11:09Now, Parasol is similar to Umbrella in
337. 11:13the sense that she mainly relies on the
338. 11:16Umbrella as a weapon. However, unlike
339. 11:18Umbrella, Parasol has a very, very
340. 11:20strong [music] design on her own. It's
341. 11:23very simple. She's just wearing a very
342. 11:25tight black skirt and a very tight
343. 11:27turtleneck and like her upside down
344. 11:29cross and that's it. But she also has a
345. 11:32very distinct sex appeal and also a very
346. 11:34distinct color scheme that contrasts a
347. 11:36lot more than umbrellas. the harsh black
348. 11:38with a bright red hair, not to mention
349. 11:41the fact that she's all leggy and her
350. 11:43umbrella is also black with a very, very
351. 11:45bright accent. It just does a lot to
352. 11:46sell this character as an absolute
353. 11:48tyrant of a person, a stick in the mud,
354. 11:51very, very sexy. You can definitely tell
355. 11:53that Girly Pop is on a mission and she
356. 11:55will not stop until she [ __ ]
357. 11:57completes it. She has legs for days. And
358. 11:58you know what the best part is? She's
359. 12:00not even wearing heels. She's an
360. 12:01incredibly sexy character and she has
361. 12:03like her feet [music] flat on the
362. 12:04ground. They don't need to rely on like
363. 12:06traditionally sexy clothing item like
364. 12:07high heels for a parasol because the
365. 12:10character itself is just that sexy. And
366. 12:12it's so curvaceious while still keeping
367. 12:14like a not super Baba Boom figure. It
368. 12:17just does such a good job. She's not
369. 12:19super ooky spooky, but she has the goth
370. 12:22girl vibe which I definitely appreciate.
371. 12:24So she definitely fits into what I would
372. 12:26[music] consider to be the skull girls
373. 12:28meta in terms of character design. Also
374. 12:31K highkey would smash. absolutely would
375. 12:33smash. Parasol can destroy me any day.
376. 12:36She's amazing. She has a really cool
377. 12:38move set and she has like a very
378. 12:40interesting way to do things as a unit.
379. 12:42>> Well, excuse me, princess.
380. 12:45>> Number six, the one, the only
381. 12:48>> Cereabella. This was getting really,
382. 12:50really difficult at this point cuz
383. 12:51Sarabella has a really strong concept. I
384. 12:53adore her character design. Okay, I do
385. 12:55think it's one of like the [music] best
386. 12:57designs in the game, even if it's not my
387. 12:59favorite design in the game, cuz it's
388. 13:02just such a strong concept. Girly pop
389. 13:04with fat [ __ ] bags, but she's a
390. 13:08circus performer and her hat is actually
391. 13:11like the thing that fights for you. This
392. 13:13goes back to like the Disgaya school of
393. 13:15character designs cuz we have some
394. 13:16really big exaggerated features. Giant
395. 13:19arms and the really really big horns and
396. 13:22the fat ba, very skinny baby waist, like
397. 13:24pointed shoes, big skulls everywhere. It
398. 13:26really helps with like her circus
399. 13:27performer stick. She has orange in her
400. 13:29color scheme, which is not my favorite
401. 13:31color, but it highlights her hair so
402. 13:33well. Like at this point, since they
403. 13:35knew that the design was so busy, they
404. 13:38decided to work with color to make the
405. 13:40face the focal point and made the
406. 13:42brightest color on the design her hair.
407. 13:44So that way you will immediately go to
408. 13:46her face and you'll look up and see that
409. 13:48the thing that she's actually wearing is
410. 13:50her hat. It's amazing. I think the thing
411. 13:52that ties it together for me is that
412. 13:53despite the fact that the design is so
413. 13:55topheavy, it doesn't at all drown out
414. 13:57the bottom half of the character. It's
415. 14:00not just because of the tits chat. It's
416. 14:02also because of how well balanced her
417. 14:05body is and how baba boom it is and the
418. 14:07fact that they made her feet pretty big.
419. 14:09The shoes are pointed. She has like very
420. 14:11wide sleeves. So yeah, like she's
421. 14:13nestled in between the arms of her hat
422. 14:15pretty nicely, but she also stands on
423. 14:17her own two feet as a character. All
424. 14:19right. All right. We're getting into the
425. 14:20big kahunas of the character designs for
426. 14:22Skull Girls now. Like we're getting into
427. 14:22the ones that I personally consider to
428. 14:24be my absolute favorite, the very best.
429. 14:27So let's [ __ ] give it UP FOR NUMBER
430. 14:29FIVE. LET'S GO. LET'S DO IT.
431. 14:31>> [screaming]
432. 14:33>> NOW, FELIA IS one of the first
433. 14:34characters that you can actually meet.
434. 14:36And she's actually one of the first
435. 14:37characters that I ever saw
436. 14:38conceptualized in this game. And when I
437. 14:41first saw her concept art, I don't know
438. 14:42if I was drawing not for work at this
439. 14:44point cuz I saw her and I immediately
440. 14:46went, "God damn, she's thick." And
441. 14:49that's kind of like Felia's thing. So,
442. 14:51Felia is a very interesting cuz she's
443. 14:53one of the ones that I would like to
444. 14:54call Parasite Fighter. Filelia has an
445. 14:57entity on her hair called Samson. Fun
446. 14:59fact, she was originally blonde and
447. 15:01that's the thing that gives her the
448. 15:02ability to fight with her hair in in
449. 15:04terms of like someone of like the horror
450. 15:07girl aesthetic. The parasite on the head
451. 15:08is phenomenal. I also really love that
452. 15:12the hair has so much movement and
453. 15:13fluidity to it. Even when the character
454. 15:15is standing still. If you've ever seen
455. 15:17the idols for the game, you will see how
456. 15:20well balanced her animations are in
457. 15:22between taking care of the fact that the
458. 15:24character needs to move well and so does
459. 15:25the hair. It's an incredibly strong
460. 15:27design and they knew that the hair was
461. 15:29going to be super busy. So, in terms of
462. 15:31color, she doesn't have much. She's
463. 15:34mainly working with black and white with
464. 15:36some accents. And because they wanted uh
465. 15:39the star of the show to be Samson, to be
466. 15:41her face.
467. 15:41>> The Skull Girls team wanted to make
468. 15:43Darkstalkers 3.
469. 15:45>> Honestly, good for them because they're
470. 15:46never making a new one, they might as
471. 15:48well take care of it. And it does fit
472. 15:50with that kind of Darkstalkerish theme,
473. 15:52doesn't it? Like the horror girly pops.
474. 15:54I love it. Before Samson, her thighs
475. 15:56were less thick.
476. 15:57>> Oh, yeah. Samson makes her thickier
477. 15:59because he needs more food. Yeah. Like a
478. 16:01very like vava boom girly pop in like a
479. 16:03very bastardized school uniform. Which
480. 16:06is funny cuz when I first saw Felia, I
481. 16:08did not at all cla.
482. 16:10She seemed so much older to me when I
483. 16:12first saw the character. But the thing
484. 16:14about Skull Girls though is that for me,
485. 16:17the ages of the characters don't really
486. 16:19matter except for the really really
487. 16:20young ones cuz it's all about the vibe.
488. 16:22And the vibe of the game was very very
489. 16:24va boom. Like the point of it was to
490. 16:26make sexy fighty girl characters. And up
491. 16:29until a certain point where they started
492. 16:31making other units, they followed these.
493. 16:33I assumed she was in college. So did I.
494. 16:35Cuz look at her. But yeah, very solid
495. 16:37design. Incredible concept to have the
496. 16:39parasite be her hair and have the
497. 16:40parasite actually fight for you. [music]
498. 16:42That's why she's in my top five. Number
499. 16:44four. Let's do it.
500. 16:46>> Aren't you quite the specimen? Valentine
501. 16:49is uh
502. 16:53[bell]
503. 16:54Valentine has such a solid concept. So
504. 16:57like I think that she's like the
505. 16:59bastardization between the sexy nurse
506. 17:01Halloween costume and the nurses from
507. 17:03Silent Hill, but also she's kind of like
508. 17:05a ninja. I love the shuriken on her
509. 17:07[ __ ] calves. I like the shudikin on
510. 17:09her like little uh hat. Also, remind me
511. 17:12if I'm wrong, this was supposed to be a
512. 17:14red cross before, but the red cross got
513. 17:17mad at them. But if you ask me, the Red
514. 17:20Cross would have been too harsh with the
515. 17:22color scheme she has now. I think that
516. 17:24according to the Geneva Convention, you
517. 17:26can only use the Red Cross for medical
518. 17:28things. So, you can't really use it for
519. 17:30character design or for stuff for games
520. 17:31or entertainment. It has to be strictly
521. 17:32for hospital things. I think that the
522. 17:35pink fits her much better because it's a
523. 17:36bright pop of color without being super
524. 17:38harsh. And Valentine already has like a
525. 17:40very unique color scheme. She has like
526. 17:42very bright blue hair, but you'll notice
527. 17:44that her overall color palette is very
528. 17:46desaturated. That's because they could
529. 17:48not make her nurse uniform clean white
530. 17:50cuz it would have completely [ __ ] with
531. 17:52a horror aesthetic. [music] I love the
532. 17:53bone saw that she carries around like a
533. 17:55[ __ ] katana. But yeah, ninja sexy

536. 18:01but I fell in love with the concept.
537. 18:03It's so strong. Like the booba out, the
538. 18:06butt is barely covered.
539. 18:08super thick thighs, but she's still
540. 18:10wearing her face mask and gloves, and
541. 18:12it's like, "Oh, God, examine me, mommy."
542. 18:15This is why Valentine is one of the best
543. 18:16characters in this [ __ ] game. But
544. 18:18again, she was dethroned by some other
545. 18:20characters that like I definitely
546. 18:21resonated with me more, but she's pretty
547. 18:22up there. Valentine's one of my
548. 18:23favorites. TOP THREE CHAT. YEAH, it's my
549. 18:26chance. It's a cat. Is anyone surprised?
550. 18:29No. Nobody. Okay. Misfortune. She's
551. 18:31[ __ ] great for a variety of reasons,
552. 18:34not all of them being the underboob.
553. 18:38But Misfortune has such a fun gimmick.
554. 18:41The fact that she got cut up, but she
555. 18:43had swallowed a stone that makes you
556. 18:45immortal, so she just stitched herself
557. 18:47back together and she fights by throwing
558. 18:49her limbs at you that are just like
559. 18:50barely connected with Senue. It's both
560. 18:52genius and horror perfection. She's a
561. 18:55weird catgirl, too, because her ears and
562. 18:57her tail don't match her hair color,
563. 18:59which is weird to me. I prefer it when
564. 19:00they do, but I do like it a lot. She
565. 19:03also has grippers out, which helps with
566. 19:05like that very wild aesthetic. She's
567. 19:07barely dressed. She's one of the most
568. 19:08naked characters in this game. And
569. 19:09that's saying something cuz a lot of
570. 19:11people in Skull Girls wear like nothing
571. 19:12but mama underboob and panties and like
572. 19:16destroyed pants and like baby gloves and
573. 19:18that's it, mama. But Misfortune is
574. 19:20interesting in the sense that like she's
575. 19:21still alive. She's not like a zombie or
576. 19:24anything like that. She's like dead ass.
577. 19:27Just happened to eat something that
578. 19:28makes her immortal and she has yet to
579. 19:30hack it back up. So her story is all
580. 19:32about like why are people trying to kill
581. 19:35me? Yeah, but she's really funny. She's
582. 19:37a hooligan. She looks like a hooligan.
583. 19:39She looks really She looks really wild
584. 19:40and rough around the edges. Very, very
585. 19:43charming character. I definitely enjoy
586. 19:44Misfortune. All right, we're getting to
587. 19:46my top two, which are probably You guys
588. 19:48can tell which one that is, but I'm not
589. 19:50going to say it. So, this is my second
590. 19:51favorite character in Skull Girls, and
591. 19:52you might be able to tell why
592. 19:53immediately.
593. 19:54>> And now,
594. 19:55>> the grand finale.
595. 19:56>> Squiggly is my second favorite character
596. 19:58in Skull Girls for a variety of reasons,
597. 20:00but the main one being, first of all,
598. 20:02baby girl is owed this
599. 20:06>> [bell]
600. 20:06>> She is one of the very few zombie girly
601. 20:09pops in media that I'm actually obsessed
602. 20:11with. But the reason I love Squiggly is
603. 20:13because her concept is so [ __ ]
604. 20:17strong. This is one of those character
605. 20:19designs that is iconic that you look at
606. 20:21it and you know immediately what it is.
607. 20:23She has one of the most solid character
608. 20:25concepts I've ever [ __ ] seen,
609. 20:27especially in a fighting game. And in a
610. 20:28fighting game, your character concept is
611. 20:30everything. [music] Okay, you picked off
612. 20:31based off the character and how the
613. 20:33character looks. Squiggly is another
614. 20:34parasite fighter, by the way. She has
615. 20:36like that thing coming out of like her
616. 20:37head. I don't remember what the [ __ ]
617. 20:38name is, but that alone gives her such a
618. 20:41good dynamic action line as a character.
619. 20:43She is also a performer whose mouth was
620. 20:45sewn shut, which is so [ __ ] mean. The
621. 20:48design is baller. The tattered clothes
622. 20:50that have like a pattern, like their
623. 20:51[ __ ] disheveledness, the stripey
624. 20:53socks and stripey sleeves, the giant
625. 20:56skull on her chest, the eye cover. I
626. 20:59think she's missing that eye. [music]
627. 21:00The mouth sewn shut, which is super
628. 21:02[ __ ] zombie. the fat [ __ ] hips
629. 21:06again. Very, very vaoom, which fits with
630. 21:08like the aesthetic of Skull Girls, which
631. 21:10is like monster girl, but like make it
632. 21:12sexy. I love this design to bits. The
633. 21:14color scheme is also one of my favorites
634. 21:16cuz it's like peak zombie. It's like
635. 21:17dark gloomy purples, but we have bright
636. 21:19red accents. The dress is a phenomenal
637. 21:22silhouette because it looks like a
638. 21:24performer's dress, but with a lot of
639. 21:27wear and tear cuz she's been buried.
640. 21:28She's been like dead for a while. The
641. 21:30fact that she also has like one skeletal
642. 21:32hand, but the transition is seamless
643. 21:34because it's hidden in her sleeve. The
644. 21:36[ __ ] long as [ __ ] neck to kind of
645. 21:39like give the parasite more give. Great
646. 21:41presentation, iconic design, amazing
647. 21:44[ __ ] action line. It's so dynamic. It
648. 21:46has so much movement even when it's
649. 21:48standing still. And that's why she's one
650. 21:49of the best. And now the number one, the
651. 21:52in my opinion best designed [ __ ]
652. 21:54character in Skull Girls is
653. 21:57Yes, I am rich.
654. 22:02Eliza.
655. 22:04Now, the closest this game has come to
656. 22:07having an antagonist that isn't the
657. 22:09[ __ ] skull girl is this [ __ ] Okay.
658. 22:11And she's playable. Eliza is a
659. 22:14phenomenal character. She is like
660. 22:16Squiggly a performer. She is also, fun
661. 22:19fact, a parasite fighter, but you don't
662. 22:21see it in her human [music] form. She
663. 22:23has others that she uses in game, but
664. 22:25we're not going to show them here. Now,
665. 22:27Eliza is my favorite for a variety of
666. 22:28reasons. First of all, she perfectly
667. 22:30captures the sexuality and sensuality
668. 22:32aspect of Skull Girls that made the
669. 22:34[ __ ] franchise so strong
670. 22:35aesthetically to begin with. Second, her
671. 22:38horror aspect is flawless. Mummy undead
672. 22:42being, but also make it hot. Third, the
673. 22:45Egyptian theming on her is phenomenal.
674. 22:49She has a giant ank wrap around her body
675. 22:51that ties at her waist. Her titty is
676. 22:53out, but it also doubles as like a
677. 22:54showgirl outfit.
678. 22:55>> [ __ ] knew it. Lily's type perfectly.
679. 22:58I'M A BOTTOM. [screaming]
680. 23:01And Eliza just hits so many [ __ ]
681. 23:03things for me. She also has the feather
682. 23:05of truth on her forehead. I I'm an Egypt
683. 23:08nerd and I'm a bottom. Did you guys
684. 23:09really think it was going to be
685. 23:10different? And it's really fun because
686. 23:12her microphone doubles as a scepter. She
687. 23:15has some moves that she can actually
688. 23:16summon like giant beefy bodyguards with
689. 23:18like the heads of Horus and uh what was
690. 23:22it? Another one of the creatures from uh
691. 23:24ancient Egyptian mythology. But the cool
692. 23:26thing about her outfit is it's very
693. 23:27clearly Egyptian, but it's also so
694. 23:30showgirl and she's also so mean.
695. 23:34She's incredibly showgirl coded
696. 23:36character cuz she has like the big
697. 23:37[ __ ] coat on the back. She has the
698. 23:38giant microphone. Everything about her
699. 23:41is over the top. It's super extra. She
700. 23:43uses blood manipulation as one of the
701. 23:45main ways that she can fight, which is
702. 23:47very, very fun to see in action. And
703. 23:49that makes her very fun to see when
704. 23:51she's animated because the color is
705. 23:53actually really striking. But for the
706. 23:55most part, her color scheme is very
707. 23:56solid. It's four colors. It's gold, it's
708. 23:58black, it's white, and it's teal. She
709. 24:00has dark skin, which really, really
710. 24:02contrasts the character color scheme
711. 24:03nicely, as well as the bright red of the
712. 24:05blood that she uses to fight. She's an
713. 24:06absolutely goated unit, has such a fun
714. 24:09move set, and is such a fabulous
715. 24:11character overall. I genuinely love what
716. 24:13they did with her, and that's why she's
717. 24:15my favorite character in Skull Girls.
718. 24:17Overall though, all of the character
719. 24:19designs in Skull Girls are very, very
720. 24:20solid. Aesthetically, it's one of the
721. 24:22best fighting games out there. It's
722. 24:23animated beautifully and all the
723. 24:25characters have super strong themes.
724. 24:26It's like horror but slapstick but
725. 24:29rubber hose but so wellmade. I
726. 24:32definitely recommend checking the game
727. 24:33out if only to see these characters in
728. 24:34action cuz I have stills but they have a
729. 24:37lot more life when they're actually
730. 24:38animated. Okay, there's so much for
731. 24:40these girly pops that you can't really
732. 24:41just see from the renders alone. So, I
