Which RTR RWD RC Drift Car is the BEST?? (Rlaarlo XDX vs MST RMX 4 vs HPI Stage D10) — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00This is the Ralaro XD X, MST RMX 4, and
- 0:04HPI Stage D10. These are the three
- 0:07hottest RC ready-to-run drift cars on
- 0:10the market right now. And if you're
- 0:12thinking about getting into RC drifting,
- 0:14you probably want one of these three as
- 0:17your starter. So, in this video, we're
- 0:20going to go through each one, and we're
- 0:22going to compare and contrast specs,
- 0:24features, price, performance, everything
- 0:27to figure out which one is right for
- 0:29you. If you are new to the channel,
- 0:30welcome. My name is Troy. This is
- 0:31Roadside RC. You'll tend to find me
- 0:33bashing, or crawling, or drifting, or
- 0:34racing, plus doing product review videos
- 0:36and how-tos. And as we get started,
- 0:39you'll notice there's some ready-to-run
- 0:40RC drift cars on the market that are not
- 0:43on the table, and they're not here for
- 0:46very good reason. First, and then
- 0:48probably the one that's the closest to
- 0:50earning a spot on the table, is the Team
- 0:53Associated DC10. It's pretty expensive,
- 0:57but you can get it with a battery and a
- 0:58charger out of the box. fully
- 1:00ready-to-run. If you do a lot of work to
- 1:03it, it can actually be a pretty decent
- 1:06performer. I've actually had the DC10
- 1:09kit. I've done a lot of work to it, and
- 1:12my opinion is that the Team Associated
- 1:13DC10, especially in the ready-to-run
- 1:16format, does not drive as well as any of
- 1:19these cars and is not as good of a
- 1:21value. So,
- 1:23I didn't spend the money to make sure
- 1:24that it was here on the table. Second is
- 1:26the Kyosho FAZER D2. This one is very
- 1:30enticing cuz it's a very low price
- 1:32point, but it kind of earns its price
- 1:35point. This one has become on my no-go
- 1:38list because basically, Kyosho developed
- 1:42it to a very low price. Really feels
- 1:44like they did so so that they could sell
- 1:46you as many upgrade parts as possible.
- 1:50The car drives decent out of the box,
- 1:54not as good as these, not as good as
- 1:56spec features, and a lot poorer
- 1:58electronics and suspension design and
- 2:00everything than any of these here. So,
- 2:02even though it's cheaper,
- 2:04I really can't recommend that anybody
- 2:06starts with it. Third is the Traxxas
- 2:08Ford GT Drift. They are the biggest name
- 2:10in remote control, but they designed a
- 2:14pretty poor drift car.
- 2:17Every time somebody has brought one of
- 2:19these to our local track, they have
- 2:22regretted their purchase decision. The
- 2:25thing is just miserable. And then
- 2:27lastly, the one that kind of hurts a
- 2:28little bit as well, the Yokomo Rookie
- 2:31Drift Ready to Run. Maybe one of the
- 2:34better chassis that you can get, but all
- 2:37of the electronics in it are absolute
- 2:40garbage. Maybe it has a lot of good head
- 2:43room for performance later on in life,
- 2:46but at the beginning for someone
- 2:49starting into RC drifting, it's a really
- 2:52hard pill to swallow to pay that much
- 2:54money for a drift car, and then
- 2:56immediately have to beat the like double
- 2:59the price by replacing all the
- 3:01electronics. But what we are comparing,
- 3:04HPI Stage D10, this is the Flux Edition
- 3:08now. RMX 4, as of right now they offer
- 3:11it in a brushed and brushless. This is
- 3:13the brushless spec in order to make it
- 3:15as comparable as possible. And then this
- 3:17is the brand new just released Ralaro
- 3:19XDX.
- 3:21They offer [snorts] it in both a Porsche
- 3:22and a Supra A90. Obviously, I have the
- 3:25Porsche model. So, ready to run versus
- 3:27ready to run for all of these. And
- 3:28[snorts] category number one that we're
- 3:31going to talk about is the base purchase
- 3:33price.
- 3:34And we immediately get a win here with
- 3:37the Ralaro. $349.
- 3:41The MST ends up being the most expensive
- 3:44at either 449 or 420 something,
- 3:47depending on exactly which body you get.
- 3:50And the HPI Stage D10 right in the
- 3:51middle, $399. So, cheapest, in the
- 3:55middle, the most expensive. Category two
- 3:58is then the price as tested. What that
- 4:01means is really considering the fact
- 4:04that this one actually comes with a
- 4:05battery and charger, whereas the MST and
- 4:09the HPI do not come with a battery and a
- 4:12charger. So, you're going to have to
- 4:13tack on about an extra $100 to get them
- 4:17fully up and ready to run. This one you
- 4:20do not. Provide AA batteries for the
- 4:22transmitter in all of them. This one's
- 4:25running, whereas your still lift looking
- 4:27for a charger and a battery for these.
- 4:29Being that most complete ready to run
- 4:32package, these get a little bit of a
- 4:35knock, whereas this one still takes the
- 4:36win. So, let me know down in the
- 4:38comments. I went back and forth on this
- 4:40a little bit. Is this really three
- 4:41distinct categories? Is this just kind
- 4:44of one or two categories? Ah. I want you
- 4:48to argue with me down in the comments as
- 4:50to whether or not the categories are
- 4:52appropriate. Um, and if you agree with
- 4:55my ratings on We are three categories
- 4:58in. The Ralaro has won all three of them
- 5:00so far based on completeness and price.
- 5:03But now we get into the specs of the
- 5:06equipment that's underneath the body.
- 5:08When we talk the ESCs and motors that
- 5:10are in them, all three are brushless.
- 5:12And so, wait, okay, great. They're going
- 5:14to be kind of equal. Not the case. The
- 5:17MST, which is the most expensive one, is
- 5:20brushless and it's censored, which is an
- 5:22upgrade compared to the previous
- 5:25iteration of this car, but it does not
- 5:28have the ESC does not have turbo or
- 5:30boost in it. So, you are left a little
- 5:33underwhelmed by power. Everybody who's
- 5:36driven this car has said so far, "Oof, I
- 5:38wish I just had a little bit more
- 5:40power." But it could be worse cuz the
- 5:42control of this is really well. Ralaro,
- 5:44on the other hand, went with an ESC that
- 5:47is non-sensored, but the power delivery
- 5:49here also felt very low compared to what
- 5:52we would have wanted. So, this being
- 5:54non-sensored and very weak definitely
- 5:57gets the lowest score. The HPI, on the
- 5:59other hand, brushless, sensored, and
- 6:02with a program card, you can actually
- 6:04unlock the turbo and the boost in the
- 6:07ESC. You end up never really needing to
- 6:10upgrade this motor and ESC. Once you
- 6:13what you buy it out of the box, you do a
- 6:15couple little tuning things to it, never
- 6:17touch it again. So, the HPI is the clear
- 6:20winner here. Next up is the transmitters
- 6:23that the cars come with. And this is a
- 6:25big differentiator between them. The MST
- 6:28[snorts]
- 6:29is disappointing us by still giving us
- 6:31the same controller that has literally
- 6:34been around for decades at this point.
- 6:37It basically lets you turn it on and
- 6:39off. It lets you do steering and
- 6:40throttle and some other little basic
- 6:42features, and that's practically it. One
- 6:45of the first things you will do to this
- 6:48car is replace that transmitter. The
- 6:50Ralaro is a little bit better. It has
- 6:53lamp controls. It says it has a gyro
- 6:55button, and technically, from the
- 6:58controller, you can, through a bunch
- 7:00[snorts] of gyrations of holding the
- 7:02steering this way and doing that and
- 7:03doing that and hit that button while you
- 7:05power it on, you can actually control
- 7:07the gyro gain from the controller.
- 7:09Technically, yes, but
- 7:11it's a pain in the tail. After the motor
- 7:14and ESC, probably the first thing I'm
- 7:16going to do on this car is upgrade the
- 7:18controller. Only one that provides a
- 7:20transmitter that I may legitimately
- 7:23never upgrade is the HPI. It has all of
- 7:26the controls and everything that you
- 7:28would need here on it, including the
- 7:31ability to adjust the gyro gain straight
- 7:33from this by just bumping it back and
- 7:35forth. It's [snorts] not as nice as a
- 7:37Futaba, it's not as nice as a Flysky
- 7:39Noble. Those are all going to be better,
- 7:41and maybe eventually
- 7:43you will upgrade to a better radio, but
- 7:46this one would be it's a very low on my
- 7:48list of things that need to get
- 7:50upgraded. The HPI clearly wins in the
- 7:54transmitter category. Up next is the
- 7:56servo and gyro combination. If we start
- 7:59with the Ralaro, the servo in it I've
- 8:00had no issues with it. It feels
- 8:02powerful. It feels fast enough. Servo
- 8:05seems fine. Gyro is I believe it's
- 8:08Ralaro branded, but I do believe it's
- 8:10actually a Dumbo RC at the base. And
- 8:13what's funny is if we jump over here to
- 8:15the HPI,
- 8:16I'm pretty sure that's exact same gyro.
- 8:19Little bit of different form function.
- 8:21Some HPI stickers stuck on it, but I'm
- 8:23pretty sure
- 8:25both of those came out of the Dumbo RC
- 8:27factory. So these actually have the same
- 8:29gyro in them. They're both good gyros
- 8:31actually. Compared to what used to come
- 8:33in the ready to run drift cars, both of
- 8:35these are dramatically better and offer
- 8:38a decent amount of tuning that you can
- 8:40do with them straight on the vehicle.
- 8:43But I never knew I'd actually really say
- 8:44this one day, the MST actually wins this
- 8:48category. It used to be that the MST
- 8:50ready to run gyros, the LSD, were quite
- 8:54bad. But this MGX is really good, set up
- 8:58very nice out of the factory, drifts
- 9:00well straight out of the box. MST
- 9:02clearly wins the servo and gyro
- 9:05category. As you're going to want to
- 9:07start tuning and adjusting the
- 9:09alignments and setups of the car. So how
- 9:12adjustable is the car from the factory?
- 9:16And MST again, a little bit
- 9:17disappointing here, fixed links in many
- 9:21locations on it. Has a few different
- 9:24alterations that you can do to both the
- 9:25gearbox and the motor position. Some of
- 9:28the steering has some opportunity. It
- 9:30even does have an adjustable wheelbase
- 9:33to the chassis, which is super cool. But
- 9:35when it comes to making the car drive
- 9:38differently and being able to tune the
- 9:40alignment, one of the first things
- 9:42you're going to do is drop a decent
- 9:43amount of money on upgrade turnbuckles
- 9:46and fix all of these to where they are
- 9:49adjustable. And when you compare that to
- 9:51the Relarvo that has full adjustability
- 9:54on all aspects of the alignment, same
- 9:57with the HPI has full adjustability on
- 10:00all aspects of the alignment plus crazy
- 10:03motor positions and things along that
- 10:05line.
- 10:06It's really hard to kind of support the
- 10:08MST here. Both the Relarvo and the HPI
- 10:12both get the nod here. They're both
- 10:13doing great. This next category I might
- 10:16make a few of you mad with. We'll see
- 10:18what you have to say here. It's all
- 10:21about the factory setup. And what I'm
- 10:23going to say about that is how quality
- 10:25is the car setup before it arrives at
- 10:28your doorstep so that you can be
- 10:30confident slapping a battery in it,
- 10:32going out there and driving it, and that
- 10:33it will perform well. This MST, put a
- 10:36battery in it and you can literally take
- 10:38it out and just go drive laps and get in
- 10:41people's doors immediately. The car just
- 10:44drives well straight out of the box.
- 10:46This is accredited a lot to the fact
- 10:49that MST, in theory, what they say is
- 10:51that they drive every single one of
- 10:53these around a track before it gets
- 10:55stuck in the box. So, that tells me that
- 10:58someone who knows what they're doing
- 11:00ensures that everything's working
- 11:02properly as kind of a final quality
- 11:04control check before it goes out the
- 11:06door. The HPI is just ever so barely
- 11:10barely I would rank it slightly behind
- 11:13the MST.
- 11:14This HPI, again, with all the proper
- 11:17electronics from the Flux model in it
- 11:19does great out of the box, but what we
- 11:21found is there is some tweaking to like
- 11:24the gyro setup and things like that that
- 11:26you would probably want to do before you
- 11:29really take it to to track the first
- 11:30time. In contrast with the experience
- 11:33that I had, which may not be the same
- 11:36experience from everybody,
- 11:38>> [snorts]
- 11:38>> the Ralar Lo left a little bit to be
- 11:40desired here. As an example, when I took
- 11:44mine out of the box, one of the
- 11:45fundamental things about an RC drift car
- 11:47is the front alignment, and it actually
- 11:50had a closed or negative Ackermann,
- 11:52where the front tires were actually
- 11:54crossing each other at the drift angle,
- 11:56and as you got over to lock, very
- 11:58difficult to drive straight out of the
- 11:59box. And it required me and some folks
- 12:01at the track to actually do some tweaks
- 12:04to the alignment in order to get it to
- 12:07drive well, which means if you got one
- 12:09that might not have been assembled quite
- 12:12right, just like I did, but you're very
- 12:14new to RC drifting, you might struggle
- 12:17and you might be frustrated. This next
- 12:19category is upgrades needed. And what I
- 12:21mean by this is
- 12:23a couple weeks, months, whatever into
- 12:26owning it, how much money are you
- 12:28probably spending to get this car to
- 12:31perform even better? Is it basically
- 12:34good to go? Are you going to be throwing
- 12:36additional hundreds and hundreds of
- 12:38dollars at it? Transmitter is really
- 12:40bad. Turnbuckles are going to be needed.
- 12:43>> [snorts]
- 12:43>> You're probably going to upgrade this
- 12:46ESC rather quickly because, again, it's
- 12:49censored, but it doesn't have turbo and
- 12:51boost. Now, the good news is should
- 12:53should be able to just keep the motor,
- 12:54but you're going to be upgrading that
- 12:56ESC. But you're going to also have You
- 12:58notice these yellow parts that are on
- 13:00here. Those are actually 3D printed body
- 13:03mounts that I have designed for this
- 13:04chassis. What I don't like about this is
- 13:07from the factory, it actually just comes
- 13:09with standard body posts, and even
- 13:11though it has a really cool-looking
- 13:13body, they want you to drill holes in it
- 13:15and use body clips and all that in the
- 13:17body post to mount the body. It's not
- 13:19the 1990s anymore. Every drift car
- 13:22should come with a magnet body mounts
- 13:24out of the factory. The Ralar Lo is
- 13:26going to end up being the same way. Like
- 13:28I said, I'm probably going to put a
- 13:29different transmitter on it. I'm
- 13:31probably going to end up putting a
- 13:34different motor and an ESC on it since
- 13:36it's not censored at all from the
- 13:38factory. But, I want you to also notice
- 13:40that these are not the factory tires and
- 13:43wheels that are on it. It's because
- 13:45Relarlow from the factory has an oddball
- 13:47tire wheel diameter and width on this
- 13:51car, which means you can't fit your
- 13:53track specific tires on the car from the
- 13:57factory. So, before you ever take this
- 13:59thing to the track, you're going to have
- 14:01to put different tires and wheels on it.
- 14:03So, that leaves us with the HPI. And I
- 14:06already mentioned, I'm pretty happy with
- 14:08the transmitter. I already mentioned,
- 14:10really happy with the ESC and the motor
- 14:13back here. I think the thing that I'm
- 14:14probably going to do number one for this
- 14:17car is the servo. I think
- 14:20from the experience and the testing that
- 14:22I've already done, replacing this servo
- 14:24with an upgraded unit really transforms
- 14:26how the car drives. That's basically
- 14:28[snorts]
- 14:29all it needs. Gyro's good, transmitter
- 14:32works, ESC and motor works. It has all
- 14:34the adjustability. I think this is one
- 14:36of those cars that you can dang near
- 14:38just about leave stock and drive. Clear
- 14:41winner in the upgrades needed category.
- 14:44Next category, body design. So, you
- 14:47could just say at first glance that is
- 14:50beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
- 14:51That's a subjective
- 14:53judgment. Maybe you just really hate
- 14:55Mustangs and so you think this body is
- 14:57about as ugly as it can get. But, if we
- 14:59think about it in objective terms, does
- 15:02it have things like over fenders already
- 15:04molded in? Yes. Does it [snorts] have
- 15:07lights in it as an example? No. Yes and
- 15:10some crazy light kit that does
- 15:12everything. So, there's [snorts]
- 15:13definitely a differentiation when it
- 15:15comes there. The fact that I had to make
- 15:17my own body mounts for this car, if you
- 15:20use the factory ones, you're going to
- 15:21literally have body posts sticking out
- 15:23of the hood here. Both of these cars
- 15:25come with magnet body mounts. Both of
- 15:28these cars come with a plethora of
- 15:31lights and hard plastics all around
- 15:34them, all included with the controllers,
- 15:37with everything from the factory. And
- 15:39this body ends up being super plain in
- 15:42comparison without even a plastic grill
- 15:46as an example with literally a sticker
- 15:48down here.
- 15:49Uh you end up clearly the MST from a
- 15:52body design loses. This HPI, I think, is
- 15:56absolutely awesome and I would have said
- 15:58was best in class of any ready to run
- 16:01that's ever been done
- 16:03until this one came out.
- 16:04>> [laughter]
- 16:05>> They absolutely went the next level. Not
- 16:08only does it have the lights, you can
- 16:09program the lights to do different
- 16:11things with a click of a button. It's
- 16:13got the massive wing. It even has
- 16:14backfire exhaust and everything on it.
- 16:17Uh roll cage that you can see through it
- 16:19is not technically part of the body, but
- 16:21kind of part of that whole look and
- 16:22beauty of it.
- 16:24Uh it really has set a completely new
- 16:26bar for how scale an RC drift car can be
- 16:30out of the box. Kudos to Ralaro. Clearly
- 16:33winning the how much effort went into
- 16:36your body category here. Next one that's
- 16:38a little intriguing is parts
- 16:40availability. The MST has a huge list of
- 16:45factory MST parts that you can get from
- 16:47a wide range of distributors including
- 16:50both the MST parts themselves, but also
- 16:52upgrade parts. You can do all sorts of
- 16:55stuff with this car. HPI is I think
- 16:59we're still kind of trying to see where
- 17:00it's going to land. For me personally, I
- 17:03can get all the factory parts for it
- 17:05plus the impending factory upgrades from
- 17:08a retailer like AMain Hobbies. I can get
- 17:11some of it, I think, even from my local
- 17:13hobby store. So, So, parts availability
- 17:16is good, but the aftermarket hasn't
- 17:18picked up on it quite as much as the
- 17:20MST. I think as this car matures a
- 17:23little bit more, it's going to catch up
- 17:25with the MST. It's just not there quite
- 17:27yet. The Ralar we're going to have to
- 17:30just see how it goes. This is brand new
- 17:32as I am filming this. What I have seen
- 17:35from some of the other Ralar vehicles
- 17:37that I have owned is that they end up
- 17:39producing parts for it, but that ends up
- 17:42being it. Uh a state side stock parts
- 17:46availability can be hit or miss.
- 17:49Uh they do get to sell some of them on
- 17:50Amazon, but really I've struggled to
- 17:52find replacement parts. If I do [snorts]
- 17:54order them, obviously they're coming
- 17:56from
- 17:57uh Ralar themselves with some shipping,
- 18:00with some taxes, and things like that on
- 18:01them. So, [snorts] it really has
- 18:03probably the least part support of that.
- 18:06It's not necessarily a knock on that
- 18:07Ralar is doing anything bad. It's just
- 18:09that these have been more popular and
- 18:12have more support broadly within uh the
- 18:16RC drift like retail realm. Last
- 18:19category may absolutely blow all the
- 18:23other categories out of the water
- 18:25depending on your opinion, which is how
- 18:28does it perform straight out of the box?
- 18:30So, what I did is I took all three of
- 18:33these cars in the exact form that you
- 18:36see them now, practically as stock as
- 18:38you could get. HPI, literally nothing
- 18:41done to it except for a couple tweaks to
- 18:43the gyro settings. The RM-01D 4, uh
- 18:46nothing done to it except for the body
- 18:48mounts so that I don't have body posts
- 18:49sticking out. The Ralar, different
- 18:51wheels so that I can fit the proper
- 18:53track tires to it, slight tweak to the
- 18:56shock preload to make sure that the
- 18:58front had enough responsiveness, and
- 19:00then eventually as we talked about some
- 19:03alignment changes to make it actually
- 19:05drift well. But, it wasn't just me that
- 19:07drove them.
- 19:08Shout out to the folks at Riverside
- 19:10Drift Club. Thank you, folks, for being
- 19:12awesome. Bunch of members came out and
- 19:15we all just shared the transmitters and
- 19:17everybody got a turn driving every
- 19:19single car. Shout out specifically to
- 19:21Koa. He was out there kind of leading
- 19:24the train a couple times so we would
- 19:26have kind of a repeatable person to kind
- 19:28of judge how the performance of the cars
- 19:30were versus a baseline. The results of
- 19:32this ended up being highly entertaining.
- 19:35The RMX needed a number of tweaks to
- 19:37made it make it drive smoothly around
- 19:39the track to where you can make laps.
- 19:41Once we did that, it was really fun to
- 19:44drive. What we noticed is of the three
- 19:46cars, maybe because of the big weight,
- 19:49maybe because of the underpowered
- 19:51system, not exactly sure exactly why
- 19:53yet, it was clearly the slowest. It was
- 19:57the one that had trouble keeping up with
- 20:00everybody else that was out there on
- 20:02track. The RMX 4 felt way underpowered,
- 20:05but it was the one car that you could
- 20:08just take out and it was comfortable to
- 20:10drive almost immediately and everybody
- 20:13within one lap could basically be making
- 20:15laps, hitting all the marks, doing
- 20:17everything that they wanted. A little
- 20:19slow, little less power, probably some
- 20:22other tweaks, transmitter upgrade, some
- 20:23things like that were required, but it
- 20:25was probably the easiest to drive
- 20:28straight out of the box. And the HPI
- 20:30came away as best power delivery without
- 20:34a doubt, easy to drive, a little bit not
- 20:38as smooth to drive with the gyro as the
- 20:40MST. So again, that Dumbo gyro that's in
- 20:43it, not quite as good maybe as the MST.
- 20:46A few tweaks required and it'll be
- 20:48great, but you could tell it was like
- 20:50just behind it. So to put it to the
- 20:52final test of out of the box
- 20:54performance, everybody that was there at
- 20:57the track, I asked them that after
- 20:58driving all the cars, I said, "Which one
- 21:01would you give to a brand new person as
- 21:04they walked in the door? Which is the
- 21:06one that you would recommend? And what
- 21:08was very interesting, Mr. Anthony, the
- 21:10owner of the whole place, said the
- 21:11Ralaro because he could sell them a box
- 21:13that would have a battery and a charger
- 21:16and everything in it, and the folks
- 21:17would be there to help them get the
- 21:19front end sorted out, and someone could
- 21:21have a beautiful-looking car that maybe
- 21:24didn't perform super awesome,
- 21:27but they could have it in one box,
- 21:28everything ready to run, and they didn't
- 21:30have to worry about buying another
- 21:31battery and charger or anything to go
- 21:32with it. A lot of other folks said that
- 21:35MST is the way to go. They know how to
- 21:37make it upgrade. They don't care that it
- 21:40was the most expensive car to start with
- 21:42because 6 months later you've forgotten
- 21:45the purchase price, and all you care
- 21:46about is are you in someone's door or
- 21:48not? The with the clear upgrade path,
- 21:51the known performance for this, a lot of
- 21:53people said they'd rather take this one.
- 21:56I would say the bulk of folks, though,
- 21:58leaned to the HPI. More folks said the
- 22:02power delivery is better, the driving
- 22:04dynamic is sharper, everything is just
- 22:07that little bit better on the HPI, and
- 22:10they appreciated the less upgrade path
- 22:12that it would probably need in the long
- 22:14run. So, which one of this really wins
- 22:17the out-of-the-box performance category?
- 22:20For me personally, it's the HPI, but
- 22:23there's an argument to be made about how
- 22:25the MST might be easier to drive for a
- 22:29brand new person compared to the HPI. It
- 22:32needs a little bit more of a skilled
- 22:34hand potentially to get the most out of
- 22:36it, but the clear frustrating point that
- 22:38folks had was the Ralaro's performance
- 22:40out of the box. Not only did you have to
- 22:43tweak the alignment to get it to work
- 22:45right. Overall, the car was just slower.
- 22:48If somebody new got it in the same way
- 22:51that I got it out of my box, it would be
- 22:54dramatically more frustrating than
- 22:56either one of these two. But as we've
- 22:57been doing this video, you've seen that
- 22:59I've I've color-coding and kind of
- 23:01ranking. Green is good, yellow is kind
- 23:04of in the middle, and the kind of the
- 23:05orange-ish is maybe a detractor from the
- 23:08vehicle. So, if what I do is I add up
- 23:11all the greens as a plus one and all the
- 23:13detractors, all the oranges, as a minus
- 23:16one,
- 23:17the winner here becomes very, very
- 23:20clear. When you take all the positives
- 23:22and the negatives of the Relar Lo and
- 23:24you add them all together, sum it up, it
- 23:26gets a total score of two. MST actually
- 23:30stays in the negative side, so it
- 23:32actually gets scored the lowest out of
- 23:35all of them, and the HPI ends up at a
- 23:37seven. So, the HPI clearly wins the day.
- 23:40So, with all that to say,
- 23:43which one should you buy? Do you want
- 23:45the best mix of performance, price,
- 23:49and looks?
- 23:51You get the HPI. Do you want the one
- 23:53that's just the absolute easiest to
- 23:55drive out of the box and probably half
- 23:58the people at your local track will have
- 24:00some parts for?
- 24:02You want the MST. And do you want the
- 24:04one that just looks absolutely the
- 24:06coolest and is going to require some
- 24:08tinkering and everything and really you
- 24:10want to got to dive in and turn some
- 24:11wrenches and make the most of it?
- 24:14Then you want the Relar Lo. I think at
- 24:16this time, any one of these can be a
- 24:19good choice depending on your goals,
- 24:22where you want to drive, how you want to
- 24:24drive, and do you want more scale, do
- 24:27you want more performance, do you want a
- 24:29mix of both? What do you want? That's
- 24:32It's just It's up to you, but I think
- 24:33all three of these can make a good logic
- 24:35sense depending on what your goals are.
- 24:37Now, it's your turn. Did I judge any of
- 24:41these categories wrong? Did I clearly
- 24:44miss a whole category? Did I just miss
- 24:47an aspect of it that would change how it
- 24:50scores? Let me know. That's what the
- 24:52comment section is for. Go down there,
- 24:53tell me which ones you think I missed or
- 24:57that I got wrong. And then also let me
- 24:59know if you are new yourself, which one
- 25:02of these camps do you fall in, which one
- 25:04makes the most sense for you. If you are
- 25:06experienced and you've been around, but
- 25:08you're going to recommend some drift
- 25:10cars to a friend or somebody getting new
- 25:13somebody new getting started, which one
- 25:15would you recommend? Please let me know
- 25:17down in the video comments below that as
- 25:19well. I'd be really curious to hear what
- 25:22you all think. And then lastly, if
- 25:24you've made up your mind and you know
- 25:25which one of these you want, there's a
- 25:26link down in the video description to
- 25:28each one of them, the ones that I
- 25:30recommend. If you go down there and you
- 25:32buy them, they're affiliate links. So,
- 25:34you pay the exact same amount, I get a
- 25:36small cut, which helps cover the cost of
- 25:39this channel, and I really do appreciate
- 25:41it. If you want to see anything more
- 25:42about these cars, I actually have
- 25:44dedicated playlists for the HPI, for the
- 25:46RMX, and for the Relardo. Those are all
- 25:49on my channel. You can see each one of
- 25:52them, all the modifications and all the
- 25:53tuning and all the driving and
- 25:55everything that I've done with them, so
- 25:56that you can dig in a little bit deeper
- 25:58to each one. So, I really appreciate you
- 26:00watching. Thank you for watching, and I
- 26:02hope to see you in one of those videos.
- 26:04Goodbye.
