- 0:01John 2, the Gospel according to St. John
- 0:05chapter 2:es 1-1.
- 0:08St. John 2, beginning at verse 1 and
- 0:11ending at 11. And I'm reading from the
- 0:14King James version. You may have other
- 0:16versions, but let's look at it together.
- 0:18If someone is sitting next to you
- 0:20without a Bible, please share your
- 0:22Bibles. Amen. St. John 2:es 1-11. Here
- 0:26begins the reading of God's word. And
- 0:29the third day there was a marriage in
- 0:31Canaa of Galilee. And the mother of
- 0:33Jesus was there. And both Jesus was
- 0:36called and his disciples to the
- 0:38marriage. And when they wanted wine, the
- 0:41mother of Jesus said unto him, "They
- 0:43have no wine." Jesus said unto her,
- 0:45"Woman, what have I to do with thee?
- 0:48Mine hour is not yet come." His mother
- 0:52saith unto the servants, "Whatsoever he
- 0:54saith unto you, do it." And there were
- 0:58set there six water pots of stone after
- 1:01the manner of the purifying of the Jews
- 1:03containing two or three furkins a piece.
- 1:07Jesus saith unto them fill the water
- 1:09pots with the water. And they filled
- 1:11them up to the brim. And he saith unto
- 1:13them, "Draw out now and bear unto the
- 1:16governor of the feast." And they bear
- 1:18it. When the ruler of the feast had
- 1:21tasted the water that was made wine, and
- 1:24knew not whence it was, but the servants
- 1:26which drew the water new, the governor
- 1:29of the feast called the bridegroom, and
- 1:31say unto him, Every man at the beginning
- 1:33that set forth good wine, and when men
- 1:36have well drunk than that which is
- 1:38worse, but thou hast kept the good wine
- 1:41until now, this beginning of miracles,
- 1:44that Jesus in Canaa of Galilee, and
- 1:47manifested forth his glory and his
- 1:51disciples believed on him. So father the
- 1:55text thank you for reading the subject
- 1:57is whatsoever he says do it do it.
- 2:03I love the gospels because they are
- 2:05biographies and I I love biographies
- 2:08because it gives you some insight to the
- 2:10person. I watch the biography channel
- 2:14because maybe I'm nosy. I want to know
- 2:15people's business, but I like to know
- 2:18what's going on. And I love the Gospels
- 2:21because so many things are written about
- 2:24Jesus in our secular books, secular
- 2:27history books, etc. But the gospels give
- 2:30you information that we can trust. Now,
- 2:33I know there's a lot going on in terms
- 2:36of looking at the Bible and critiquing
- 2:38the Bible and minimizing the Bible and
- 2:41throwing away things out of the Bible,
- 2:43but I do believe that Matthew, Mark,
- 2:46Luke, and John give us information that
- 2:50no one else could give us. They were
- 2:52there. They gathered. John gathered it
- 2:55because he sat with Jesus, handled
- 2:58Jesus, touched Jesus, walked with Jesus.
- 3:02So we can trust when you go to a court
- 3:04of law, they usually trust the
- 3:06eyewitness rather than the hearsay
- 3:08witness. So we can trust the
- 3:10eyewitnesses of the gospel bearers. Here
- 3:13in in in John, he's a very very
- 3:16different gospel even though you can
- 3:18cross reference some things that
- 3:20happened with Matthew, Mark, and Luke,
- 3:22but they are called synoptic gospels
- 3:24because they're kind of similar. They're
- 3:26very similar in in reporting certain
- 3:29events. But John has a different theme.
- 3:32He has a different purpose for writing
- 3:35his gospel. He wanted you to see Jesus
- 3:40as being not just a man, not just a
- 3:43prophet, not just a teacher, not just a
- 3:47revolutionary, but a God man. So, so
- 3:50John wanted you to see that Jesus was
- 3:52both human and divine. And of course,
- 3:56you know, a lot of people want to keep
- 3:58Jesus human. You know, the man is some
- 4:01of our language expression of Jesus. And
- 4:03he was a man, but he was also God. And
- 4:06many people can't handle it. It takes
- 4:08faith to understand that he was
- 4:10Emmanuel, God with us. And if you cannot
- 4:14believe in the divinity and humanity of
- 4:17Jesus, you just cannot be a Christian.
- 4:20He is not just a man. If that's the
- 4:22case, then we're not saved. He's not
- 4:24just a man. And if that's the case, we
- 4:26are not redeemed. He's not just a man.
- 4:28If that's the case, we are not loose
- 4:30from the penalty and the guilt of sin.
- 4:32So there are some things we just don't
- 4:34trade off as Christians. It's
- 4:37non-negotiable.
- 4:39>> You understand that? We believe in the
- 4:41virgin birth, non-negotiable.
- 4:44We believe in the resurrection,
- 4:45non-negotiable. We believe that Jesus
- 4:48was the very God of the very God, the
- 4:50very man of the very man. two natures in
- 4:54one being yet without sin. And we don't
- 4:58negotiate that because if we do then we
- 5:00are not redeemed. We don't have a hope
- 5:04and we're not going back to heaven.
- 5:06Amen. And we might as well just call
- 5:08this the cornerstone gathering of the
- 5:10good time fellowshipping
- 5:13clapping hands jumping people. But we
- 5:17are not the called out people of God.
- 5:19Amen. So John starts out immediately
- 5:22without any apology. In the beginning
- 5:25was the word meaning Jesus and the word
- 5:28was with God and the word was God. And
- 5:31then he goes further in that text to say
- 5:34and the word was made flesh and dwelt
- 5:36among us and we beheld his glory the
- 5:39glory of the only begotten of the father
- 5:41full of grace and truth. And he doesn't
- 5:43bite his tongue. And in his whole book
- 5:46his theme was believe this. And if you
- 5:49believe it, you have life. These are
- 5:51written that you might believe that
- 5:53Jesus is the Christ, the son of God. And
- 5:56in believing, you will have life in his
- 5:59name. So if you believe this, you got
- 6:02life. If you believe this, you can walk
- 6:04through. If you believe this, you can
- 6:06overcome. If you believe this, you have
- 6:08victory. If you believe this, you are
- 6:11saved. Amen. Here we have in the second
- 6:15chapter. Before we get in the second
- 6:16chapter, we find that Jesus gathered his
- 6:19disciples and his disciples were his
- 6:22students. His disciples would be the
- 6:24ones that would take over the church or
- 6:26the world in the first century. So he
- 6:28chose them a mly crew. I mean he didn't
- 6:31go to the school of Hillel. That's a
- 6:33Jewish school that they train their
- 6:36elite students like Yale and Harvard. He
- 6:39didn't go there and choose them. He went
- 6:41he went to places and chose a mly crew,
- 6:44you know, a cussing fisherman, you know,
- 6:46his great preacher. A man with a bad
- 6:50temper named John.
- 6:52Boy, wanted to burn down a city. That's
- 6:54how bad he was. A man named Thomas who
- 6:57was borderline schizophrenic. You
- 6:59understand? Hither and thither.
- 7:02But he chose this mly crew to help him
- 7:06establish his kingdom on earth just like
- 7:10he chose us.
- 7:12>> We're a mly crew. Amen.
- 7:16>> And so he chose his disciples and in in
- 7:19choosing his disciples, he started out
- 7:21now to train them, to teach them. That's
- 7:25what they are. They're students. And he
- 7:27taught them in the Jewish way where he
- 7:29took them along with him. They didn't
- 7:31have classroom situations. They had on
- 7:34the job on-site training. He was the
- 7:38master and he walked around and they
- 7:40walked around behind him. That's what
- 7:42the G that he the Greek word means to
- 7:44walk behind him to patter around to walk
- 7:47in his footsteps and to learn everything
- 7:49that he had to offer. So here Jesus now
- 7:52would set up a learning situation in the
- 7:55most unusual place. You know Jesus blows
- 7:57my mind. He's so different from, you
- 7:59know, modern Christianity today. They
- 8:01call the 21st century postmodern,
- 8:04whatever that means, you know, Christian
- 8:05experience. But when I look at Jesus,
- 8:07he's so far ahead. He's always far
- 8:09ahead. He's so unconventional. He's He
- 8:12can be so disruptive. He can be so out
- 8:14of control. Just don't know what to do
- 8:16with him.
- 8:18He's going to have his first lesson in a
- 8:22social setting. Not a synagogue, not a
- 8:25temple, but at a wedding party. Jesus,
- 8:28ladies and gentlemen, was a social bug.
- 8:31He hung out. As the kids say, he could
- 8:34hang. You understand? He loved dinner
- 8:38parties. He loved social settings. As a
- 8:41matter of fact, Mary and Martha and
- 8:42Lazarus can testify. We only have a few
- 8:45accounts, but I'm sure he went to their
- 8:47home many, many times to have Martha's
- 8:49lamb stew and goat cheese and whatever.
- 8:52He loved to take off his sandals and had
- 8:54folk wash his feet and anoint his head
- 8:57and kiss him and sit down and lick his
- 8:59fingers. He just loved to be social.
- 9:05We're the ones who keep it tight
- 9:08or tight
- 9:10like we're constipated tight.
- 9:16But he's free. He's free.
- 9:19He he went to this wedding and in the
- 9:21first verse of the second chapter the
- 9:23Bible said and the mother of Jesus was
- 9:26there and immediately his mother is
- 9:29presented to us. Now now Jesus had a
- 9:32very if we would call normal
- 9:34relationship with his parents from the
- 9:37age from birth to 12. He was he was a
- 9:40normal child. He was he was uh um
- 9:42circumcised on the eighth day like any
- 9:44other Jewish boy. He was bar mitzvah at
- 9:47the age of 12. So he had what we would
- 9:50call a normal life with his parents. He
- 9:52he was being groomed as a carpenter
- 9:54because his stepfather was a carpenter.
- 9:57So I'm sure he made tables and chairs.
- 9:59I'm sure he played like any other boy.
- 10:01We don't see too much until the age of
- 10:0330. But when he came to the age where he
- 10:06had to walk into his purpose,
- 10:10he had to redefine his relationship in
- 10:14his primary relationships. And that's
- 10:16always very very difficult for people to
- 10:19do when they receive the call, when they
- 10:21hear the call, when they know the call,
- 10:23when they know that they've been carved
- 10:25out for something special. The primary
- 10:28relationship is always disrupted. And
- 10:31that's why many people do not walk in
- 10:33their call because they can't redefine.
- 10:36They can't make the the attack
- 10:38detachment. You see, they can't make
- 10:40statements uh because they know it would
- 10:42disrupt the family, upset the family.
- 10:44People are tied to you. Mothers are
- 10:46overprotective. Fathers are
- 10:48overprotective. People have their own
- 10:50dreams that they want to live through
- 10:52you, etc. They don't know how to let you
- 10:54go. Oh, come on. It can be a very sticky
- 10:56time. But Jesus made his declaration. My
- 10:59meat is to do the will of him that sent
- 11:03me. Lo, I come in the volume of the book
- 11:09to do the will of him that sent me. I
- 11:13didn't come to fulfill anybody ELSE'S
- 11:16AGENDA, BUT his agenda. See, that's
- 11:19that's the hard stuff. It's hard because
- 11:22Jesus's time and culture, the Jewish
- 11:24family tighten it. If you read about the
- 11:27Old Testament, even when the the the
- 11:29boys got married, they brought the wives
- 11:30home. Can you imagine 10 boys,
- 11:3410 wives and 100 children running around
- 11:38all under the same roof? That's how
- 11:40tight-knit the family structure was. So
- 11:42when Jesus came, he was so anti what
- 11:46they were used to. That's why they
- 11:47couldn't handle him because he also
- 11:49disrupted the whole notion of family.
- 11:52that whole fallacy that because we came
- 11:54out of the same womb that we're going in
- 11:56the same direction. You see, ah that
- 11:58because we eat out of the same plate
- 11:59that we have the similar anointing. No.
- 12:02Sometimes the Bible said because of your
- 12:04faith, mother shall be against father
- 12:06and father against son and and daughter
- 12:09against mother because your faith makes
- 12:12a demarcation.
- 12:14And many times WE CAN'T MAKE THOSE
- 12:16DECISIONS BECAUSE WE'RE AFRAID OF FAMILY
- 12:19DISAPPROVAL. But they may disapprove FOR
- 12:22A MOMENT. BUT when they see the glory of
- 12:25God in your life, and when they see how
- 12:27God uses you, ah, they might think
- 12:30you're a little crazy and crack, BUT
- 12:32WHEN THEY TURN AROUND AND SEE HOW GOD
- 12:34PROMOTES you and elevates you and the
- 12:36anointing that drips from you, which
- 12:39makes PEOPLE'S LIVES DIFFERENT, THEN
- 12:40THEY'LL REALIZE THAT THERE'S SOMETHING
- 12:42GREATER THAN BIOLOGICAL ATTACHMENT, THAT
- 12:45THERE'S A SPIRITUAL BOND. WHO IS MY
- 12:48MOTHER? Who is my father? He that doeth
- 12:53the will.
- 12:55I don't come from a large family.
- 12:58They're only um um three of us. And um
- 13:02my father and mother were married for 66
- 13:04years and they were preaching for about
- 13:06the same time. He just died in February.
- 13:09And um so we don't come from a large
- 13:11family. And so my father would always
- 13:14drag people in from everywhere.
- 13:19My mother and father, they had the
- 13:20missionary mind. And we all hated it
- 13:23because when they brought these people
- 13:25in for dinner, it's always dinner time
- 13:27when they came. They didn't come any
- 13:28other time but dinner time. When they
- 13:30came at dinner time, you know, we always
- 13:33ended up with the gravy and the rice cuz
- 13:35the meat just left. Just just took a
- 13:37walk and and those people always had
- 13:40healthy appetites. You understand? And
- 13:43they always asked for seconds as if they
- 13:45were seconds. The seconds meant our our
- 13:48plate, our meat, and then sometimes our
- 13:52gravy. So it was not always rice with
- 13:54gravy. It was rice trying to look for
- 13:56some butter, you understand? To soften
- 13:58it down.
- 14:00So we always had we always had people
- 14:03and my father loved people and and he
- 14:06loved for people to eat. Eat up was his
- 14:08favorite word. Eat it up. Eat it up all
- 14:10eat it up. So he always had people
- 14:12around him. And consequently, we learned
- 14:15at an early early point in our lives
- 14:18that there were other members of the
- 14:20family.
- 14:22Always cousin so and so and aunt so and
- 14:24so. Of course, it didn't didn't belong
- 14:26to the family tree. We didn't have a
- 14:27tree. We had a bush because every time
- 14:29you turn around, something was added.
- 14:31Couldn't trace. Who is this one? No
- 14:34aunt, no uncle, not connected to any
- 14:35brother or cousin. Just somebody my
- 14:37father picked up and added to the family
- 14:40tree. Well, ladies and gentlemen, he had
- 14:42the right notion because I have brothers
- 14:45and sisters in here tonight that I have
- 14:47not met. I may not know where you live.
- 14:50I may not be I've not been at your table
- 14:52to eat up your meat, but you are
- 14:54legitimately legitimately and legally
- 14:57and eternally my brother and my sister.
- 15:00Amen. We are part of a major family of a
- 15:05mega family. And that's what JESUS IS
- 15:08SAYING. IT GOES BEYOND BIOLOGICAL
- 15:10CONNECTION. Blood is thicker than water,
- 15:13but spirit is thicker than blood. And we
- 15:15are connected by the Holy Ghost. COME ON
- 15:18AND TELL YOUR BROTHER, your sister, we
- 15:20are connected.
- 15:24So here Jesus with his students,
- 15:28he's going to train them to take the
- 15:30world. He's going to train them to take
- 15:32the world. And he's sitting at a dinner
- 15:35party, at a wedding reception.
- 15:39training them to take the world. And the
- 15:42Bible said he sat there and his mother
- 15:44came. Here she comes now. She's in the
- 15:46picture. She's very busy. She's all in
- 15:48this text. And she runs to him and she
- 15:50says they're out of wine. Now, you know,
- 15:54when you think of the wedding in in the
- 15:56Jewish culture, the wedding usually goes
- 15:58on for seven days. So So they're
- 16:01drinking for seven days. I mean, that's
- 16:03a whole lot of wine. Understand? And if
- 16:05if you watch if you watch the history
- 16:08the timeline of the movement of the Jews
- 16:10especially throughout throughout Europe,
- 16:13they always seem to move. Whenever they
- 16:15had to leave a certain area, they would
- 16:17follow the vineyards because wine was so
- 16:20much a part of their ceremonial, you
- 16:23know, uh uh um celebration. Everything
- 16:25that they do centered around the wine.
- 16:28So to have to run out of wine at a
- 16:31dinner party was really an a great
- 16:34embarrassment
- 16:35to the Jewish family and to this wedding
- 16:38celebration. I don't know about you, but
- 16:39you know in in my culture in you know
- 16:42you you don't run out of chicken at
- 16:44anybody's you say
- 16:49well come on you all help me now cuz see
- 16:53you don't have a banquet and people pay
- 16:56their little $35 and put on their
- 16:58fineries and their sequins. You
- 17:01understand? and and and their glitters
- 17:04and and come and then when it comes to
- 17:06your table there is no chicken because
- 17:08it's always chicken big fat chicken
- 17:10breast you understand and there's no
- 17:12chicken breast I mean that is a very
- 17:15sticky situation in some cases people
- 17:17are asked to meet outside you understand
- 17:20over no food that's a great
- 17:23embarrassment well that's the same thing
- 17:25that's happening to Mary and she must
- 17:28have been connected to the to the family
- 17:30to the wedding party because she be
- 17:33she's too antsy. She's too overly
- 17:35concerned. If she was just another guest
- 17:37and sitting back, but we know that
- 17:39something is going on while she's
- 17:41jumping back and forth. She is loaded
- 17:44with anxiety.
- 17:46And where does she take her anxiety? To
- 17:49her son.
- 17:51And she's saying to her son, not
- 17:53perceiving him as a son, but seeing him
- 17:56as possibly a miracle worker. Why would
- 17:59you go to Jesus who is an invited guest
- 18:04and tell him about THE PROBLEM? WHY
- 18:06DON'T YOU GO TO THE MATRAEE? Why don't
- 18:08you go to the family and tell them that
- 18:10they ran out of wine? IT MUST BE THAT
- 18:13MARY now is beginning to see HER SON NOT
- 18:16JUST AS A SON, but as he claimed to be
- 18:20THE MESSIAH. AND MESSIAH MEANS HE'S A
- 18:23MIRACLE WORKER. Lord have mercy. HE'S
- 18:25ABLE TO DO WHAT NO other man can do. For
- 18:30in him, he has the POWER TO DO EXCEEDING
- 18:34AND ABUNDANT ABOVE ALL that we ask or
- 18:37think. Oh, I need somebody to say
- 18:40hallelujah.
- 18:44Your perception of Jesus will determine
- 18:48your request.
- 18:51If you think he can only pay a certain
- 18:54amount for your mortgage, that's all
- 18:55you're going to ask for.
- 18:57>> If you think he can only heal you from a
- 18:58headache, that's the only thing you're
- 18:59going to take to him. But how you
- 19:01perceive him will determine how you
- 19:03approach him. So she approached him and
- 19:06she knew he could do something about it.
- 19:08Tell your neighbor he can do something
- 19:10about your problem tonight. He can. He
- 19:12can. He can. The Bible said he she went
- 19:15to him and she wanted him. The problem
- 19:18is she wanted him to move when she
- 19:20wanted him to move.
- 19:23She wanted to be mother
- 19:27and she also wanted him to be Messiah at
- 19:30the same time. AND NOW JESUS WHO IS VERY
- 19:34VERY CLEAR about his timeline.
- 19:38That's where we have problems. We want
- 19:40him to move today. We point our finger
- 19:42at him and think we can muscle him. I
- 19:44want my house now.
- 19:48I want my car now. I want that new
- 19:52Chrysler twodoor now. And I want it in
- 19:55red.
- 19:57Now,
- 19:59the problem is God does not function
- 20:01that way because whatever he has for you
- 20:04is already prepared and set up and just
- 20:07waiting for you to walk in the right
- 20:09place at the right time because he has
- 20:11all things prepared. He does not
- 20:14respond. He does not react. He already
- 20:17prepared. He already prepared. He's a
- 20:19God who works by predestination and
- 20:23pre-ordination. Anything that you need
- 20:25is already hooked up for you right now.
- 20:27He's just waiting for certain things in
- 20:30you to be worked out. Certain things
- 20:32around you to be worked out. Certain
- 20:34things in your attitude to be worked
- 20:36out. Once you get there, IT'S OVER. COME
- 20:39ON AND PUT your hands together. I need
- 20:41somebody. Lord, I feel a praise.
- 20:47The Bible said she went to him and
- 20:49you're supposed to go him to him with
- 20:51your request. But Jesus's response can
- 20:53be very troubling, especially to the
- 20:55feminist theologian because we're always
- 20:57trying to make first century culture our
- 21:01culture. You know, we have all these
- 21:02issues. You know what I'm saying? We
- 21:04have all these rights, you know,
- 21:06liberation rights, liberation theology,
- 21:09you know, gay rights theology, you know,
- 21:11all kinds. and we're just loaded with
- 21:13theology.
- 21:14And so we try to make all those things.
- 21:17We would like to rewrite the text. But
- 21:19instead of rewriting the text, let's get
- 21:20up in the text cuz that's where the
- 21:22power is.
- 21:24>> He says to his mother, "Woman, now see
- 21:28that's that's trouble right there.
- 21:34That's trouble right there."
- 21:38Because
- 21:39if a son
- 21:42in his right mind,
- 21:48even if he's 65 years old,
- 21:51says to his mother, "Woman,"
- 21:54she'll say, like Bill Cosby said to his
- 21:56son on the sitcom, "I brought you in and
- 22:00I'll take you out,
- 22:02woman."
- 22:04But that's a term of endearment in
- 22:08Jesus's time. I'm from Jamaica and there
- 22:11are certain things that we say to each
- 22:12other that if I said it to you or you
- 22:15said it to me outside of my culture,
- 22:18outside of my soil, it could be very
- 22:20very insulting or appear to be
- 22:22insulting. When I go to Africa, we going
- 22:24to Africa November. When I go to Africa,
- 22:26when I went to Ghana and to Nigeria and
- 22:28to to Abby John and I got off the plane,
- 22:31grown men and women bowed down and
- 22:34started calling me mama. I said to
- 22:36somebody, "I'm not these people's mama."
- 22:40And they calling me mama. I ain't
- 22:41nobody's mama.
- 22:44But that's a term of high respect, high
- 22:48regard. And they had to explain it to
- 22:50me. And then I had to check my attitude
- 22:52because I realized that in this culture,
- 22:54mama is a term that's given to per to a
- 22:57person that they deem to be honorable,
- 23:01a person that they respect highly. Now
- 23:04take that out and take that to Harlem.
- 23:09See,
- 23:10don't say mama say that's a fight in
- 23:13peace cuz I'm not your mama. See, so
- 23:16take this out of context and you can't
- 23:18handle it. But keep it here. Keep it
- 23:20here. Because Jesus is not being rude.
- 23:23He's addressing her the way they
- 23:25addressed their women in those days.
- 23:27Woman,
- 23:29what have I to do with thee? And that
- 23:31sounds insulting. It literally means,
- 23:33why are you bringing me into your
- 23:36anxiety?
- 23:38BECAUSE JESUS DOES NOT RESPOND to us
- 23:40readily when we are anxious, when we are
- 23:43worried, when we are fretful. IT'S WHEN
- 23:46WE BACK UP and stand still. When we hush
- 23:49up and trust him is when we sit down and
- 23:51look to him, that's when he moves for
- 23:53us. ANXIETY, DOUBT, AND FEAR ARE SIGNS
- 23:58OF SIN. WHEN YOU WORRY, WORRY IS a sin,
- 24:00just like lying and stealing and
- 24:02fornicating and adultery. Cuz when you
- 24:05worry, it means that you're not trusting
- 24:06him for what he says. He says, "I can
- 24:09and I will." He says, "Heaven shall pass
- 24:11away and earth shall pass away, but my
- 24:13word shall stands forever, which shall
- 24:15stand forever." And he says that I AM
- 24:17NOT A MAN THAT I SHOULD LIE, NEITHER the
- 24:19son of man that I SHOULD REPENT. IF I
- 24:21SAID IT, IT IS SO. If I spoke it, I can
- 24:24make it good. So when you DON'T TRUST
- 24:26HIM, YOU'RE INSULTING his integrity. He
- 24:29said, by two immutable things, I swear.
- 24:32Ah, by my name and by my character. Oh,
- 24:35somebody is a candidate for a miracle in
- 24:38this house. Come on and let me hear you
- 24:40say hallelujah.
- 24:47woman,
- 24:49come
- 24:51check it.
- 24:53He always says that when people are
- 24:55panicking, the disciples sent them to
- 24:58the other side where they wrote into a
- 25:00storm. Master, if you don't come, you're
- 25:04going to drown. Cause
- 25:08he was asleep. Got up and said, "Peace
- 25:11be still." So, somebody's anxious in the
- 25:13house. I'm sure the Lord is not sending
- 25:15this word to people who are calm.
- 25:18Somebody's a little fretful in here.
- 25:21Somebody's worried about tomorrow,
- 25:23worried about a particular situation.
- 25:25And I hear the Lord say, "Calm.
- 25:27Hush your fears. I didn't give you a
- 25:31spirit of fear. Ah, I gave you power,
- 25:34love, and a sound mind. And even THOUGH
- 25:37IT TIGHT FOR IT, it shall not lie, BUT
- 25:42IT SHALL SURELY come to pass. Oh,
- 25:45SOMEBODY BETTER SIT BACK. GOD IS GETTING
- 25:47ready to do something unbelievable,
- 25:51ridiculous, illogical, irrational. Come
- 25:55on and shout hallelujah.
- 26:01The Bible said he now he now adds after
- 26:05he says to her what what you want me to
- 26:07do what what is the problem? He says my
- 26:11hour is not yet come.
- 26:15You know some people would say well he's
- 26:16talking about his crucifixion. No that's
- 26:18too early.
- 26:20It literally means I'm going to do
- 26:22something but not yet. Now, that little
- 26:25adverb yet is your point of contact to
- 26:29your miracle.
- 26:31Because yet means not now, but I'm going
- 26:34to do it.
- 26:36Yet means not this minute when you're
- 26:39panicking, but it's not a no. Tell
- 26:42somebody, it's not a no. It's not a just
- 26:46because it didn't happen yet, it doesn't
- 26:48mean that I'm not going to do it. IT'S
- 26:50JUST THAT THIS IS not the hour for me to
- 26:53do it. But there is an hour coming. Tell
- 26:56somebody, there's an hour coming. Ah,
- 26:58when I'm going to flex my muscle. There
- 27:00is an hour coming when I'm going to set
- 27:04this thing in order. There is an hour
- 27:06coming when I'm going to do the
- 27:08impossible. There is an hour. Oh, come
- 27:11on and praise him for that hour. Hour.
- 27:14Hour. Hour.
- 27:18Glory to God. Glory to God. Glory to
- 27:20God. Yet means it's coming. It's coming.
- 27:25It's on its way. Didn't get there yet,
- 27:27but it's coming. Tell your neighbor,
- 27:29"It's coming. It's coming. It's coming."
- 27:31So, what do you do when it's coming?
- 27:35>> You didn't get here yet, but there's a
- 27:37certain thing you have to do because
- 27:39miracles really come when you set the
- 27:43stage. Miracles are predicated not just
- 27:46on the word of God, but on your
- 27:49attitude. This is a cooperative effort.
- 27:52He is able to do some things, but he's
- 27:55demanding that you do some things. He's
- 27:57not giving out any freebie miracle. No,
- 28:01miracles demand a certain posture, a
- 28:04certain attitude, A CERTAIN RESPONSE.
- 28:07SO, WHILE IT IS COMING, YOU GOT TO GET
- 28:10YOURSELF TOGETHER. If you believe that
- 28:13the yet means not now but maybe tonight,
- 28:16not now, BUT MAYBE TOMORROW MORNING. Not
- 28:19now, BUT MAYBE WEDNESDAY NIGHT. NOT NOW,
- 28:22BUT MAYBE THURSDAY at noon. Not now, but
- 28:25maybe Sunday morning at 3:00. THEN IN
- 28:27BETWEEN NOW AND THEN, SOMETHING HAS TO
- 28:30happen to you. Something you have to do,
- 28:33something you have TO POSITION YOURSELF
- 28:36FOR. AND THAT'S MY ASSIGNMENT TONIGHT TO
- 28:39GET YOU ready for the miracle. Come on
- 28:42and put your hands together. I want to
- 28:44hear you praising.
- 28:46Come on and praise him.
- 28:50Glory.
- 28:55Not yet,
- 28:57but later.
- 29:00>> Not now, but soon.
- 29:03>> Not today, but maybe tomorrow.
- 29:06Not this week, but maybe next week.
- 29:10>> The bottom line is it's going to happen.
- 29:15>> So what do you do when it's going to
- 29:17happen? His mother caught it. Now his
- 29:19mother is sharp. The woman is sharp. She
- 29:21brought him in the world. So she's
- 29:22connected. So she she caught it and she
- 29:25turned around and shifted. Instead of
- 29:27responding and thinking that he was
- 29:30shoeing her away and insulting her, she
- 29:33aligned herself.
- 29:36She caught the words and she turned
- 29:38around immediately and said TO THE
- 29:40SERVANTS, "WHATSOEVER HE SAYS TO DO, do
- 29:44it." Now, why would he say that? BECAUSE
- 29:46THE YET meant he's getting ready to do
- 29:48something. And if he's getting ready to
- 29:50do something, I WANT YOU TO BE ready to
- 29:53DO IT. THE YET MEANT SOMETHING is
- 29:55getting ready to happen. And you cannot
- 29:58be asleep on the job. SOMETHING IS
- 30:00GETTING READY TO happen is GOING TO
- 30:02DEMAND YOUR FULL ATTENTION. Something is
- 30:05getting ready to happen and you MUST BE
- 30:07READY TO PARTICIPATE. NOW sit up in your
- 30:09chair tonight and LIFT UP YOUR HEAD and
- 30:12stop hanging down YOUR HEAD CUZ GOD IS
- 30:15GETTING ready to show up. And when he
- 30:17shows up, he's getting ready to manifest
- 30:19his glory. Come on and let me hear you
- 30:22say hallelujah.
- 30:30He said unto you whatsoever that
- 30:33whatsoever that whatsoever the kids say
- 30:36you know your your kids because you know
- 30:38your kids have the way of talking um
- 30:40it's like cling on language
- 30:43you understand nothing they saying half
- 30:44the time and their responses are just as
- 30:47strange and crazy cuz something happens
- 30:50during those teenage years particularly
- 30:52there's a disease that is contagious
- 30:55that happens to their mind you
- 30:57understand it and they they they
- 30:59function on a different devil and you
- 31:01have to be a rocket scientist to figure
- 31:02out all of that stuff that goes on in
- 31:04their minds and in their bodies. So when
- 31:06you say something say whatever.
- 31:10Don't try to figure out what that means.
- 31:12Don't even go there. Don't waste your
- 31:14time. You understand? Just keep laying
- 31:15down the rules. Whatever.
- 31:18AND THAT'S WHAT SHE'S SAYING. WHATEVER.
- 31:21Whatsoever means whatever. Not with an
- 31:25attitude but with expectancy.
- 31:28whatsoever
- 31:29chin up, whatsoever,
- 31:32eyes wide open, WHATSOEVER, ears
- 31:36unstopped, whatsoever, hands available,
- 31:41WHATSOEVER FEET PUT IN POSITION. It is
- 31:44not whatsoever sleeping all day with a
- 31:46bottle of Pepsi looking up in the
- 31:48ceiling. No, not whatsoever walking
- 31:50around crying and whining and ping it.
- 31:52No, that ain't no whatsoever. Whatsoever
- 31:55means that you're alert and ready. That
- 31:57means there's a praise on your heart and
- 31:59there words on your lip. Whatsoever
- 32:01means that you're listening and waiting.
- 32:03Whatsoever means that you're in
- 32:05position. Whatsoever means that you're
- 32:07sitting STILL WAITING FOR GOD TO
- 32:09DEMONSTRATE who he is. Come on and let
- 32:12me hear you say whatsoever.
- 32:16Glory to God. Whatsoever is not for
- 32:19those who are still trying to figure it
- 32:21out. This is not a figure it out walk.
- 32:25>> This is not an analytical walk for you
- 32:27analysts and you logical, rational,
- 32:31contemplative people. You doubters, you
- 32:34functional atheists only go through the
- 32:37motion but can't believe that God can do
- 32:40anything. Lord, did you hear what I
- 32:43said? I said anything.
- 32:46Do you understand what that means?
- 32:48Absolutely
- 32:50anything. There's nothing in the earth
- 32:53that God cannot handle. I said anything.
- 33:00Anything.
- 33:03Whatsoever he says, whatsoever he says
- 33:06to you servants,
- 33:08do it.
- 33:10>> So, we're talking about obedience. Now
- 33:13you know we're living in a time when
- 33:15they change they want to change give
- 33:17give give more user friendly language in
- 33:20church you know to attract people
- 33:21because people get insulted so easy I'm
- 33:24saying everybody's fragile's
- 33:27very fragile so we can't we can't say
- 33:30servants anymore cuz people get get sick
- 33:33and get demeaned and get upset when you
- 33:35call them servants. So we got to find
- 33:37some other names. You understand? Um,
- 33:40and also we can't use words like
- 33:42obedience or or rebellion. Then people
- 33:46get mad. So we got we got to fix it and
- 33:48say you have we can't say troubles or we
- 33:51can't say difficulties or sin. You have
- 33:54to say challenges. See
- 33:58cuz folk get their feelings hurt.
- 34:02Whatsoever he says do it. It literally
- 34:04means I can't find any other language
- 34:06I'm living that I'm stuck. obedience.
- 34:10>> It means you follow him to the letter.
- 34:13It literally means it may not make any
- 34:15sense. It it it may sound crazy. You may
- 34:19look like a complete idiot. It means
- 34:22that you're going to have to give up
- 34:23your pride and your arrogance and you're
- 34:25going to have to just go with the flow.
- 34:28It means that you can't come with two
- 34:30and two and it equals four. It means
- 34:33your mathematics is not his mathematics.
- 34:36It means you can't hardly explain it
- 34:38because your vocabulary is so limited.
- 34:40But it just means that you're crazy
- 34:42enough enamored with him. Trust him. So
- 34:46believe that he's your eternal source.
- 34:49Knows that no one can do anything for
- 34:52you but him. Ah. And when you get like
- 34:55that AND YOU'RE NOT LOOKING to the east
- 34:57or the west and some trust in horses,
- 35:00some trust in chariots, but you remember
- 35:04the name of the Lord. The name of the
- 35:06Lord is a strong tower and the righteous
- 35:10runth therein and his savior. And you're
- 35:13not a hustler or a con artist and you're
- 35:16not trying to play and get over. You
- 35:18just lean on him because you KNOW THAT
- 35:21HE IS YOUR HELP. AH, he is your present
- 35:24help. He is your way in the wilderness.
- 35:28HE IS YOUR WATER. LORD, SOMEBODY help me
- 35:31right here in trial. Come on and say
- 35:35hallelujah.
- 35:37>> Glory to God. So if he says hop on one
- 35:41leg
- 35:43>> and stick out your tongue,
- 35:48>> if he says do your fingers like this,
- 35:51now I know they're getting ready to call
- 35:52the patty wagon now, but do your fingers
- 35:54like this, do it whatsoever. That is
- 35:59without limits.
- 36:01It's this this is an unlimited
- 36:04statement right here. We can't even
- 36:07figure out what the whatsoever would
- 36:09mean to you and would mean to me. My
- 36:13whatsoever is not your whatsoever. Your
- 36:16whatsoever might be so ridiculous that I
- 36:18could never handle it. And my
- 36:20whatsoever, I know it be crazy and you
- 36:22probably could never handle it. But
- 36:24whatever he says, do it. And when you
- 36:28the statement was made, obedience
- 36:31clicked in cuz God functions in the
- 36:34realm of obedience in the hot bed of the
- 36:37Yes. See, the moment you say yes to God,
- 36:40things start lining up. Can't see it.
- 36:44Just like you can't see atoms and
- 36:46protons and neutrons and electrons in
- 36:49here, but they're very much in here. You
- 36:51can't see sound waves in here, but
- 36:53they're very much in here. Ah, SO WHEN
- 36:55YOU SAY YES in your will, when you COME
- 36:58TO THAT RESOLVE, ALL OF A SUDDEN
- 37:00supernaturally
- 37:02things start lining up. He start
- 37:04shifting people and moving circumstances
- 37:07and hooking up networks and putting
- 37:10things in order and all you're doing is
- 37:12sitting at YOUR DINING ROOM TABLE
- 37:14SAYING, "YES, LORD. YES, LORD. YES,
- 37:15LORD. YES, LORD. I hear you, Lord. Tears
- 37:18running down. I'm so sorry I doubted
- 37:20you. I know I made a mess of my life,
- 37:22but I'm saying yes to you. And whatever
- 37:24you say, I'm going to do it. And
- 37:25immediately immediately immediately
- 37:27connections are made. Uh demons are
- 37:29beaten back. Imps are moved out of your
- 37:32way. Doors begin to open. And situations
- 37:36begin to set up and ways are made out of
- 37:39no. Oh, come on. And your enemies become
- 37:42your foottool. Come on and put your
- 37:44hands together for obedience.
- 37:48Tell somebody obey. Obey. Obey. Obey at
- 37:52any cost. Obey.
- 37:55Obey.
- 37:57You know, there's an attitude of
- 37:59obedience.
- 38:01You make your mind up. Haven't done
- 38:03anything. All God wants is a made up
- 38:05mind cuz you can do things and yet not
- 38:08be obedient.
- 38:10>> But when your mind is made up, things
- 38:13start happening. How do we know that
- 38:14things line up? Listen to the next
- 38:16verse. And connected to verse five.
- 38:21When you say, "I'm going to do it." And
- 38:24they were set.
- 38:28Where did they come from?
- 38:31Who put him there?
- 38:33AND THEY WERE SET. Not conveniently, but
- 38:37strategically,
- 38:40not by happen stance, but on purpose.
- 38:45>> Not by luck, but by divine appointment.
- 38:49And there WERE SET SIX WATER POTS. Lord
- 38:52have mercy. And I'm saying to somebody,
- 38:55if you SAY YES TO GOD TONIGHT, GOD IS
- 38:57GOING TO START SETTING some things in
- 38:59place. You don't know how they got
- 39:01there, but they're going to set up for
- 39:03you. You don't know who hooked it up,
- 39:05but it's going to be hooked up for you.
- 39:06That's the thing about trusting God. You
- 39:08don't have to work that hard. Ah, the
- 39:10people in the world have to work hard.
- 39:12Trump has to work hard. All those people
- 39:14with money, they have to work hard. Work
- 39:16hard to get it. Scheme to get it. hustle
- 39:18to get it. I got to hustle and scheme to
- 39:20keep it. But the saints of God just has
- 39:23to trust God. And when you need him,
- 39:25he'll show up. And they were set. And I
- 39:28believe that God is GETTING READY TO SET
- 39:30things up for some people. He's going to
- 39:32place things in your way unbeknownst to
- 39:35you RIGHT NOW. YOU'RE CLUELESS TO the
- 39:38setup. The moment you line your will up
- 39:40with him, he's going to orchestrate.
- 39:43He's going to organize ah things that
- 39:47money can't buy. You don't even know
- 39:49where it comes from. But look around
- 39:51you. God is getting ready to set it up.
- 39:55Come on and praise him. I want to hear
- 39:57you say hallelujah.
- 40:00Come on and give him glory.
- 40:05Now this is not this is not new to the
- 40:08saints.
- 40:09How many of you done business with God?
- 40:13How many of you have walked with the
- 40:15Lord?
- 40:16>> Every time you trust him, he sets it up.
- 40:20>> Every time you follow him, he hooks it
- 40:23up.
- 40:24>> Every time you hit rock bottom, he sends
- 40:28somebody to come and reach down and get
- 40:30you without a telephone call. You're
- 40:33home sitting down and the call comes to
- 40:35you. Ah, you go to the job and you get a
- 40:39message that so and so called and when
- 40:41you call so and so it's already
- 40:42arranged. Somebody calls you out of
- 40:45nowhere and said, "I woke up this
- 40:46morning with my mind on you and thus
- 40:49sayeth the Lord or the Lord laid you in
- 40:51my heart and the check is in the mail."
- 40:53Oh, come on, somebody's check is in the
- 40:55mail. I see it coming. As I speak it, it
- 40:59is so. God has a way of setting things
- 41:02up. Come on and tell your neighbor, it's
- 41:05a setup. is set up. All he wants is
- 41:07obedience. All he wants is obedience.
- 41:10All he wants is obedience. All he wants
- 41:13is obedience. All he wants is obedience.
- 41:16Come on, church. Give him a loud praise
- 41:19for obedience.
- 41:22Glory. Hallelujah.
- 41:25Set up six water pots.
- 41:29Six water. And listen, they were already
- 41:32prepared.
- 41:34They were already sterilized and
- 41:36purified.
- 41:38Didn't even have to wash them.
- 41:41And then there were two fur kids 20 to
- 41:4530 gallons a piece. Now, here's the
- 41:49here's the real Tesla. They brought the
- 41:51vessels clean and ready. What you going
- 41:54to put in there?
- 41:56We're not asking you for water, Jesus.
- 42:00They don't drink water at these parties.
- 42:03See,
- 42:07you go to these parties and some of you
- 42:09all who are in to the liquor business,
- 42:12you know, go to these parties and you
- 42:16know, you ask for gin and you ask for
- 42:21martini. You ain't asking for no water.
- 42:24There's a difference between gin water.
- 42:28Martin martini.
- 42:30What else? I just learned about Long
- 42:31Island iced tea. I didn't even know I
- 42:34didn't even know that was liquor. I
- 42:35thought it was iced tea. See, I'd have
- 42:36been drunk.
- 42:40I'd have been stone drunk sipping iced
- 42:42tea.
- 42:49You see how backwards I am? I just found
- 42:52that out in 2004. You understand?
- 42:57There's a difference between water and
- 42:59of course wine and and and I we were
- 43:02just we're just doing a study on wine
- 43:04and the process of fermentation at our
- 43:06church and this whole process for those
- 43:08of you who are probably in the wine
- 43:10business you know it takes time for
- 43:13grape juice or grapes to be crushed and
- 43:16squeezed and then to turn into alcohol.
- 43:19There's a process called fermentation
- 43:22and I think they put yeast in it and the
- 43:24yeast eats out the sugar and when the
- 43:26sugar is eaten up it turns into alcohol
- 43:30that doesn't happen overnight. It takes
- 43:33time and they tell me the the aged wine
- 43:35is a more succulent wine. Okay, it's a
- 43:38more flavored wine. So that process
- 43:41cannot be a 24-hour process, a two-day
- 43:43process. And as I'm reading the text,
- 43:46Jesus is dealing with this at the same
- 43:48time. It's not two days event.
- 43:52>> This is an immediate event.
- 43:54>> So to ask them to pour water into the
- 43:57vessel is really ridiculous. Really
- 43:59ridiculous. Can't pour water in one
- 44:02minute and get wine the next when wine
- 44:05and IT'S NOT EVEN GRAPE JUICE. You
- 44:06understand? It's not grape juice. And
- 44:09you can't GIVE THESE WINE DRINKERS GRAPE
- 44:11juice cuz THEY KNOW WINE. THEY DRINK
- 44:13WINE. THEY know what wine tastes like.
- 44:15THEY KNOW A GOOD WINE FROM A BAD WINE.
- 44:18THEY KNOW what year. You know you how
- 44:19you watch television. Since I don't know
- 44:21that stuff, so I got to go to television
- 44:23and they come with the bottle. Oh, this
- 44:25is a good year. I never could figure
- 44:27that out. Maybe somebody can tell me
- 44:29what they mean by this is a good year. I
- 44:31guess it's a good year for the for the
- 44:33wine or how the wine was was was
- 44:35fermented, whatever. But people can tell
- 44:38good tasting wine if they are wine
- 44:41tasters.
- 44:43And so Jesus said water in the water
- 44:46pot. But listen to what they did. And
- 44:49they filled. No argument.
- 44:52No conversation. Remember what Mary
- 44:54said. Whatsoever he said to do, do it.
- 44:57And they followed through.
- 45:00And they did it to the brim.
- 45:04>> I tell you, this thing called obedience
- 45:06is no joke. You see what I'm saying?
- 45:08They did it. They didn't say, "Well, I
- 45:09don't know what he's talking about. Pour
- 45:11water in here. I'm just going to pour a
- 45:13little bit and see how it works." See,
- 45:14that's how we work. And I'm just going
- 45:16to
- 45:19I'm just going to give a little bit and
- 45:21I'm just going to give this little $10
- 45:22and see if I get $10 back. See,
- 45:29fill it to the brim. Now, if you're
- 45:30going all the way, come go all the way.
- 45:33Come on now. The miracle is yours, but
- 45:35you've got to go all the way. This is
- 45:38not the only instance in the Bible where
- 45:40you see someone who was pressed to obey
- 45:42against the odds in a ridiculous way.
- 45:45Bible said in Kings that Elisha
- 45:47encountered a woman and the woman was
- 45:49married to a member of the school of the
- 45:51prophets. Her husband was a prophet, a
- 45:54bonafide prophet who walked around with
- 45:56Elisha and ministered and did miracles
- 45:58and he died and left them in abject
- 46:00poverty. And her two sons were now
- 46:02becoming slaves. And she went to Elisha
- 46:05and said, "You got to help me, Master
- 46:07Elisha." Now he didn't have a welfare
- 46:09fund and he didn't set up any welfare or
- 46:12disability and there was no insurance to
- 46:15collect. So he had to GO WITHIN THE
- 46:17REALM OF her faith. You understand? Uh
- 46:20when you don't have those kinds of
- 46:22benefits, you got to walk by faith AND
- 46:24NOT BY SIGHT. WHAT do you have? What do
- 46:27you have? What do you have? NOT WHAT YOU
- 46:29CAN GET. AH CONTRARY TO POPULAR RELIGION
- 46:32TODAY and Christianity is what we ARE
- 46:35LOOKING FOR. WE NEVER COME SAYING WE'VE
- 46:37GOT SOMETHING. WE ALWAYS SAY WE NEED
- 46:39SOMETHING. I GUARANTEE YOU TONIGHT, YOU
- 46:42HAVE MORE in here going for you than you
- 46:44HAVE AGAINST YOU. YOU got so much inside
- 46:47of you that you should be able to give
- 46:49TO EVERY MAN IN HERE. AH, YOU GOT SO
- 46:52MUCH POWER in you that YOU CAN LAY HANDS
- 46:55ON SICK AND the sick CAN RECOVER. AH,
- 46:57YOU GOT SO MUCH ANOINTING in you that
- 47:00you CAN SPEAK A WORD AND THE WORD CAN
- 47:02COME TO PASS. I rebuke this dependent
- 47:05give me give me religion and I command
- 47:07you to walk in the authority of what God
- 47:10has given you. Come on church. I need
- 47:13somebody to help me. I feel a praise in
- 47:16here now.
- 47:18Hallelujah.
- 47:21Even on your worst days, you're a demon
- 47:23chaser.
- 47:25EVEN ON YOUR WORST DAYS, YOU CAN LAY
- 47:27HANDS ON THE SICK AND THE sick can
- 47:29recover. Even when the devil whip you
- 47:31all day long, you still have power to
- 47:34speak to the mountain. And the mountain
- 47:36will back up in the sea. I'm looking for
- 47:38a praise in church right now. Come on
- 47:40and put your hands together. I need to
- 47:42hear somebody say hallelujah.
- 47:49Listen, fill it to the brim. If you're
- 47:52going, go all the way.
- 47:55>> If you're going, ACT LIKE YOU HAVE NO
- 47:57other recourse. Stop going and backing
- 48:00up. Stop testing the waters THERE. THERE
- 48:03IS NO WATER to test. He said, "I am that
- 48:05I am. I am the way. I am the truth. I am
- 48:09the bread. I am the living water. And if
- 48:11you believe it, you'll go all the way.
- 48:12Unless you get like that crazy out of
- 48:15your mind. Grit your teeth and pull up
- 48:17your bridges. Hook up your girdle and
- 48:19PUT YOUR FACE LIKE flint and tell the
- 48:21devil, I'm running the risk of stepping
- 48:24out by faith." I'm like Peter. Lord, if
- 48:26it's you, I'm going to walk on water. I
- 48:29know nobody has done it before. And I
- 48:31know them boys in the boat sleeping and
- 48:34biting their nails rather and knocking
- 48:36their knees. AH, BUT I SEE THE KING OF
- 48:38Kings uh walking on water. And if you
- 48:41can walk on water, I can walk with you.
- 48:44Come on, church. Uh somebody getting
- 48:46ready to walk on water. I feel the
- 48:48presence of the Lord. Come on, somebody
- 48:50say come on and give him glory. I want
- 48:53to hear you say hallelujah.
- 48:58Fill it up. Fill it up. Go all the way.
- 49:04>> And the Bible said he filled it up. Now,
- 49:08now this is part Jesus hasn't moved yet.
- 49:12He hasn't touched the pot yet. He just
- 49:14gave orders.
- 49:17He He gives the orders and you do the
- 49:19work.
- 49:21We think he's going to come out of
- 49:22heaven and do it for us. He speaks. You
- 49:25obey and the thing happens. Did you hear
- 49:28that? Now he speaks, you obey, and the
- 49:32miracle happens. He speaks, you get up,
- 49:36pick it all up, and start doing it. And
- 49:40as you do it, something happens. Isn't
- 49:42that what he said to the lepers? You go
- 49:44and show yourselves to the priests. AND
- 49:47AS THEY WENT,
- 49:49>> they didn't stand there and say, "What
- 49:50you say?"
- 49:54As they went, they became healed. And
- 49:59that's why the church is not
- 50:01EXPERIENCING THE MIRACULOUS. WE HEAR IT
- 50:03AND WE SIT on it. I'm waiting for
- 50:05another witness. What witness? I'm
- 50:08waiting for somebody else to prophesy.
- 50:09What prophesy? I'm waiting for somebody
- 50:11else to confirm. What confirmation? You
- 50:14got the word, move on it. You got the
- 50:16word, move on it. This is the
- 50:18unadulterated word of God. If he said
- 50:21it, move on it. If he spoke it, get up
- 50:24and do it. Well, it doesn't make sense.
- 50:26He didn't ask you to figure it out. He
- 50:28just asked you to do it. You're too
- 50:30smart for your own plans. Get up and do
- 50:32it. And as you DO IT, THINGS WILL
- 50:34HAPPEN. AH, THE WORD HOOKS UP WITH THE
- 50:36FAITH AND THE FAITH AND THE WORD HOOKS
- 50:38UP WITH THE SPIRIT. AND God has no other
- 50:40choice. Come on, Cornelius. Boy, you
- 50:44ain't got no Holy Ghost. Have never
- 50:46spoken in tongues. You're not even
- 50:47saved. AH, BUT YOU GOT SO MUCH FAITH UH
- 50:51TO GIVE AND TO pray that it moved
- 50:53heaven. Uh, and I can't stand it
- 50:56anymore. You set up a MEMORIAL IN
- 50:58HEAVEN. UH, your act of faith uh, your
- 51:01act of worship CAUSED ME TO GET UP and
- 51:05make some adjustments for you. And I
- 51:07believe that somebody in here is on the
- 51:10brink of a miracle because of your
- 51:12obedience. Come on and put your hands
- 51:15together. I want to hear your praises.
- 51:21I'm finished.
- 51:23I just have
- 51:25two more points and I'm finished cuz
- 51:27they say I'm long in it, but you know,
- 51:31I'm finished.
- 51:33Fill it up
- 51:36and then pour it out. Jesus.
- 51:41Fill it up with H2O. clear, no odor,
- 51:46no taste,
- 51:48a different consistency than wine.
- 51:52Doesn't even look like wine. Even white
- 51:54wine has a certain flavor and
- 51:57consistency does not equal to water.
- 52:01You're going to tell me to fill it up
- 52:03with water and then pour it out to the
- 52:06governor. The governor here was the
- 52:08matraee.
- 52:09The man who knows how to please his
- 52:13guest. The man who sets up the menu and
- 52:17catered the event. The man who does not
- 52:20want to be insulted
- 52:22because how it turns out will reflect on
- 52:25his ability to cater the event. So take
- 52:30it to the matra to test it.
- 52:33Go back to the doctor and get another
- 52:35x-ray.
- 52:39Go back to the same bank that turned you
- 52:41down because of your credit and take
- 52:44them the paper again. Just go back. Just
- 52:46go back. Tell your neighbor, "Go back.
- 52:48Go back." Ah, cuz I'm getting ready to
- 52:50blow your mind. I'm getting ready to
- 52:53show you. Ah, that I've done something
- 52:56in the meantime while you were worrying
- 52:59and complaining and thought THAT I
- 53:00FORGOT ABOUT YOU because you LEFT IT IN
- 53:03MY HANDS BECAUSE YOU TURNED IT OVER TO
- 53:05ME. NOW YOU CAN GO BACK AND SEE WHAT
- 53:07I'VE DONE WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING. You
- 53:09understand? I DID SOME THINGS
- 53:11UNBEKNOWNST TO YOU. TAKE IT to the
- 53:14matraee. The man who is about to panic
- 53:17cuz there's no MORE WINE AND POUR IT
- 53:19OUT. POUR in water and pour out wine.
- 53:22You know that's bad right there. That's
- 53:23bad. That's bad. Pour in water and pour
- 53:26out wine. Pour in water and pour out
- 53:28wine. Pour in water and pour out wine.
- 53:31That's the ridiculous thing about it.
- 53:33He's going to ask YOU TO POUR IN WATER.
- 53:35BUT WHEN YOU POUR IT OUT, EXPECT WINE.
- 53:37AH, I WANT YOU to walk out of here and
- 53:40expect something different. Different
- 53:42than what you thought you had. Ah,
- 53:44something miraculous. You started out
- 53:47with little, but expect much. You
- 53:50started out with nothing, but expect
- 53:52something. You started out with THE
- 53:53IMPOSSIBLE, BUT EXPECT the possible. You
- 53:56started out with being down, BUT EXPECT
- 53:58TO COME UP. Come on and put your hands
- 54:00together. I feel a miracle.
- 54:04I said I feel a miracle.
- 54:06I said I feel a miracle.
- 54:09Hallelujah.
- 54:12Glory. Now, here is the conclusion. He
- 54:18did it in front of his ex disciples.
- 54:20Just chose these boys and they still
- 54:22trying to figure him out. And he did it
- 54:25right in front of them. But listen to
- 54:27what the matraee said.
- 54:30the the the expert
- 54:33on wine.
- 54:36Why did you after these guys and these
- 54:40ladies drank for three days?
- 54:43They usually put out the best wine so
- 54:44that by the time the fourth day comes,
- 54:46they're so drunk. They wouldn't know
- 54:48whether they drinking grape juice or
- 54:50wine.
- 54:51Why would you wait until almost the end
- 54:55of the celebration to bring out, listen
- 54:58to his words, the best
- 55:04>> that's when God shows up. You see,
- 55:09the things that we have manufactured and
- 55:11produced for ourselves cannot be
- 55:14compared to when God exercises divine
- 55:18intervention.
- 55:20And he brought some of you into certain
- 55:22situations so you could compare TO THE
- 55:25FACT THAT WHAT YOU HAD CANNOT BE
- 55:28compared to what he's getting ready to
- 55:30give you. And he saved the best for
- 55:34last. Lord have mercy. AND SOMEBODY'S
- 55:37GETTING READY TO GET A downright
- 55:39ridiculous, outrageous blessing. And it
- 55:43cannot be compared
- 55:46to what you had before. Or you thought
- 55:48you had something going on, but you
- 55:51haven't seen anything yet. I dare you to
- 55:55trust him. I DARE YOU TO OBEY HIM. I
- 55:59dare you to lean on him. Come on and
- 56:01raise your hand and praise him.
- 56:04Come on and open your mouth and praise
- 56:06him. Hallelujah.
- 56:10Oh, there's a praise now.
- 56:12Oh, there's a praise in the house. Oh,
- 56:15there's a praise in the house.
- 56:17Hallelujah.
- 56:19Glory to God.
- 56:24While you're yet standing,
- 56:27this began the miracles
- 56:32so that he would be glorified
- 56:36and his disciples
- 56:39would believe. So why does God give us
- 56:41miracles? So that he can be glorified
- 56:45and we can believe.
- 56:47>> Why do you need a miracle right now? So
- 56:50that his name, his character, his power
- 56:53can be glorified
- 56:55and you can believe.
- 56:58>> So that all around you will know there
- 57:00is a God who works like this, who acts
- 57:04like this on behalf of his believing
- 57:07people. And what will it do for you?
- 57:10It's going to strengthen your faith.
- 57:12You're going to walk away saying, "I
- 57:14know in whom I believe and I am
- 57:17persuaded that he is able."
- 57:21Come on, ladies and gentlemen. Miracles
- 57:24are hovering in cornerstone tonight.
- 57:28Come on, ladies and gentlemen.
- 57:30Miracles
- 57:32are WAITING BY YOUR DOORSTEP TONIGHT.
- 57:35Hallelujah to Jesus. I said miracles.
- 57:40I said miracles.
- 57:43Come on and praise him for miracles.
- 57:47Hallelujah.
- 57:49Hallelujah.
- 57:53All he needs,
- 57:55all he needs tonight
- 57:58are people who will fill up their water
- 58:02pots to the brim
- 58:04with water and pour out wine. Fill it
- 58:09with water and pour out wine. Fill it
- 58:13with water and pour out wine. And if you
- 58:16believe in biblical typology,
- 58:18water represents the word and wine
- 58:22represents the Holy Spirit and joy. So
- 58:26you pour in the word and you get
- 58:28something greater
- 58:31in your life,
- 58:33financially,
- 58:35emotionally,
- 58:36spiritually, in your relationship.
- 58:39There's some people here who definitely
- 58:42need God to show up in the miraculous.
- 58:48Every now and then, we need that
- 58:50outlandish experience
- 58:52that will knock us to another level of
- 58:55faith. Every now and then, we need God
- 58:58to just blast us out of here so that the
- 59:01people around us will walk with our
- 59:02mouths open and want to know how did it
- 59:05happen. And all you can do is say,
- 59:07"Glory to God. Hallelujah. name, Jesus.
- 59:09Glory to God. Hallelujah. Thank Jesus.
- 59:11Glory to God. Hallelujah. Thank Jesus.
- 59:13Glory to God. Hallelujah. Tell somebody
- 59:15that's all I'm going to say is glory to
- 59:16God. Hallelujah.
- 59:21I want you to run around this altar
- 59:23right now. If you believe there's a
- 59:25miracle hovering, not because this is a
- 59:28hype or a cliche, but right out of the
- 59:30text, whatsoever he says to do, do it.
- 59:34And as you do it, things will start
- 59:36lining up. And what is it lining up to
- 59:39do? To demonstrate the power.
- 59:43Demonstrate the miraculous. You should
- 59:45be up front already. You should be
- 59:48moving quickly
- 59:50cuz there's a miracle
- 59:54coming your way.
- 59:58I feel this miracle.
- 1:00:00Don't be afraid to come close. And when
- 1:00:03you come, don't come bound and tight.
- 1:00:06Come with your hands straight up.
- 1:00:08Hallelujah to Jesus.
- 1:00:11Come with relieving hearts,
- 1:00:14trusting minds.
- 1:00:17Come ready to be to obey him. No matter
- 1:00:21what he asks for. Now, now listen. It's
- 1:00:24going to be ridiculous. Now, I'm I'm
- 1:00:26trying to help you. He's going to ask
- 1:00:28you to do crazy stuff.
- 1:00:30Stuff that might be out of your comfort
- 1:00:32zone.
- 1:00:34stuff that might make you feel a little
- 1:00:36silly,
- 1:00:37stuff that you can't explain to your
- 1:00:39friends who are skeptics.
- 1:00:41But if you dare obey,
- 1:00:44if you only believe,
- 1:00:47you will see the glory, the
- 1:00:49manifestation
- 1:00:51of your God and your king. And I just
- 1:00:54want you to raise your hand and at the
- 1:00:56count of three, I want you to worship
- 1:00:57the Lord. Whether you say, "Hallelujah.
- 1:01:00Thank you, Jesus." I don't want it to be
- 1:01:01low and calm and contained. I want it to
- 1:01:04be completely erratic. If you have to
- 1:01:08jump, jump. But I want you to begin to
- 1:01:10leap into what God is getting ready to
- 1:01:13do for you. You can't see it as a little
- 1:01:15small thing. You got to see it as an
- 1:01:18overwhelming. It's going to overwhelm
- 1:01:20you. It's going to pursue you and
- 1:01:22overtake you. Come on and praise him.
- 1:01:24Hallelujah.
- 1:01:43Heat.
