- 0:00crime conspiracy Cults serial killers
- 0:03and murder all the things that I love to
- 0:05consume and I know you do too I know you
- 0:07do too you little sick
- 0:09sick and today I'm going to feed you all
- 0:12right and today we're talking about
- 0:13somebody that I'm sure pretty much all
- 0:16of you know but I'm going to tell you
- 0:18some things you probably don't know or
- 0:20I'm going to go into a a lot of detail
- 0:23in a more fun way than you've seen in
- 0:25documentaries and in movies and I'm not
- 0:27going to sugarcoat anything like
- 0:29Hollywood in that movie so today we're
- 0:31talking about one of America's most
- 0:33infamous serial killers nay one of the
- 0:36world's most infamous serial killers Ted
- 0:39Bundy he was known to have killed 20
- 0:41women in the 1970s but admitted to
- 0:43killing 36 some experts in the field
- 0:46believe he could have killed up into the
- 0:48hundreds even but what makes this case
- 0:51so Infamous is that it is the first
- 0:53murder trial to be televised nationally
- 0:56and that this sick Bard had fans he had
- 0:58a fan club he had like a lot and we'll
- 1:01get into it just goes to prove that
- 1:02pretty privilege doesn't stop at that in
- 1:05high school that was too popular to talk
- 1:07to you it goes all the way up to
- 1:08psychotic murderers all right so let's
- 1:10unbuckle our seat belts go mock five
- 1:12down the highway in our Brown V du bug
- 1:15slam on the brakes and dive through this
- 1:16windshield into this sick together
- 1:26[Music]
- 1:35so like we always do we're going to
- 1:37start from the beginning to little baby
- 1:39Ted Bundy Theodore Bundy to be exact he
- 1:42was born in 1946 on November 24th that's
- 1:45my brother's birthday not the 1946 he's
- 1:47not I don't have a brother that's
- 1:48significantly older than my parents that
- 1:50would be weird anyway he was born on
- 1:52November 24th 1946 in Burlington Vermont
- 1:55USA now Ted had a pretty odd upbringing
- 1:58and not odd as in like your mom keeping
- 2:00all your teeth that have fallen out in a
- 2:01drawer and she shows you later when
- 2:03you're an adult just me all right but
- 2:05Ted's upbringing was odd because his
- 2:07entire knowledge of what his family unit
- 2:09was was essentially a giant lie he
- 2:12thought his father was somebody he
- 2:14wasn't and he thought his mother was
- 2:16somebody she wasn't because they were
- 2:17actually his grandparents and he
- 2:19wouldn't learn this until later on in
- 2:21life so he already has massive trust
- 2:23issues so Ted would grow up thinking
- 2:25that his actual mom was his sister and
- 2:28like I said his grandparents were his
- 2:30actual parents he was quoted saying to a
- 2:32co-worker later in life an rule who also
- 2:34wrote a book that we'll talk about later
- 2:36saying when I was born my mother
- 2:38couldn't say that I had I don't know
- 2:39what he talks like I don't know what he
- 2:40talks like actually you know what I'm
- 2:41going to make him sound stupid when I
- 2:42was born my mother couldn't say that I
- 2:45was her baby I was born in a home for
- 2:47unw mothers and when she took me home
- 2:49she and my grandparents decided to tell
- 2:51everyone that I was her brother and that
- 2:53they were my parents so I grew up
- 2:55believing that she was my sister that I
- 2:56was a late baby born to my grandparents
- 2:59yeah that's a good good voice that's a
- 3:00good voice because people people think
- 3:01he's like attractive and whatnot and he
- 3:03sounds attractive I don't think so okay
- 3:05I'm going to make him sound as ugly as
- 3:06he is let's continue so at 22 years old
- 3:10Elanor Lis Cowell gave birth to Theodore
- 3:14Robert cow which is Ted buddy at the
- 3:16Elizabeth lond maturity home for unwed
- 3:18mothers in Burlington Vermont and she
- 3:20would go on to do just what buddy
- 3:22claimed to his friend and Rule her
- 3:24parents would pretend to be Ted's
- 3:26parents and make him believe that Elanor
- 3:27was his sister instead of his mother and
- 3:29Bundy would start displaying pretty
- 3:31Disturbing Behavior from an early age
- 3:34which is pretty common for for most
- 3:35serial killers although he didn't have
- 3:37that like top three this is definitely a
- 3:40serial killer thing he didn't light
- 3:43on fire he didn't wet his bed and he
- 3:45also didn't hurt animals that we know of
- 3:47but he did at the age of three approach
- 3:50his auntie while she was taking a nap
- 3:52and surrounded her completely inside of
- 3:55a circle of knives dude what the if a
- 3:583-year-old did that to me he would stay
- 4:00three if you know what I mean I'm just
- 4:02kidding anyway and she would wake up to
- 4:04him staring blankly and giggling at her
- 4:07so she was just like what the oh what
- 4:10the what these knives around me and then
- 4:12you just hear in the background
- 4:14like you know what I mean anyway
- 4:17probably would have solved a lot of
- 4:18issues but I digress she would go on to
- 4:20say after Ted Bundy got caught to
- 4:21interviewers saying not like other
- 4:23children he looked and acted like them
- 4:25but he was haunted by something else how
- 4:28can a 3-year-old be haunt haunted by
- 4:30something what what they all their
- 4:31biggest issue is finding a permanent
- 4:34marker to draw on the wall with or in
- 4:35this case find knives to put a satanic
- 4:38circle around you but I I don't know or
- 4:40you know he was haunted by the fact that
- 4:41he fantasized about cutting his peers
- 4:43heads off and Performing horrific acts
- 4:45on them after the fact but that's just
- 4:47me but Ted was actually known to be
- 4:49quiet shy and a stuttering kid and
- 4:52people would say that he had uh a
- 4:54general superiority aura about him
- 4:57thinking he was going to grow up to be
- 4:59some body incredibly important classic
- 5:02classic psychotic narcissist just
- 5:04thinking that that you're better than
- 5:06everyone else everyone's uh below you
- 5:08and basically you you don't care what
- 5:10anybody else thinks that's exactly how
- 5:13Ted Bundy was he had a superiority
- 5:15complex like no other and when T became
- 5:18a teenager he said he didn't really know
- 5:20how to maintain a proper relationship
- 5:22and that he just fell out of place in
- 5:24school but the people he grew up with
- 5:25said he was a medium fish in a small
- 5:28pond so he was pretty well-liked because
- 5:31he was able to put up that mask he was
- 5:33able to be a chameleon amongst his peers
- 5:35and this is what he does throughout his
- 5:37entire life basically he was basically
- 5:39mimicking people so he would fit in or
- 5:42studying people or psychology in order
- 5:44to fit in as well and get his way but
- 5:46the biggest reason why he was liked in
- 5:48school specifically was because he was
- 5:51pretty he was you know a a good-look guy
- 5:53in some people's eyes I think he's a
- 5:56disgusting monster but if you didn't
- 5:57know that he was a serial killer I guess
- 5:58I get it but he was pretty pretty
- 5:59standard looking you know he kind of had
- 6:01a unibrow which loser I don't know I
- 6:04don't know I can't I'm not going to make
- 6:05fun of if you have a unibrow good on you
- 6:07but Ted bunny you're a piece of
- 6:08anyway in comes the pretty privilege
- 6:10though so you have this guy that is
- 6:13narcissistic superiority he's
- 6:15good-looking and he's very smart um well
- 6:18read and he's able to talk to anybody in
- 6:21a room so it's just like this politician
- 6:24basically but you could see all these
- 6:26all these factors just just thrown in
- 6:29our serial killer stew you know we're
- 6:30mixing up the pot and it's not looking
- 6:32good and this would also be around the
- 6:33time that Ted would fixate on something
- 6:35which was snow skiing and I hate I hate
- 6:38that he loved snow skiing because that's
- 6:40something I love and the fact that he
- 6:41loves it just makes me want it but it's
- 6:44okay he's dead what do we care anyway
- 6:46but pretty boy Ted was also kind of a
- 6:48bad boy in high school getting arrested
- 6:50twice for suspicion of burglar Burg
- 6:53burglar burglary burglary burglary sorry
- 6:58and auto theft which he will do a lot
- 7:01the auto theft specifically later in
- 7:03life he was really good at stealing cars
- 7:04and he used to steal ski equipment and
- 7:07also Forge ski lift tickets as well
- 7:09which is you know pretty mild the Grand
- 7:11Theft Auto is pretty bad but you know
- 7:13who hasn't Forge a ski lift ski lift
- 7:15ticket or too am I right I'm just
- 7:17kidding I've never done that before
- 7:18don't do that please and in 1967 he
- 7:20would end up going to the University of
- 7:22Washington where he met his first and
- 7:24supposedly only love Stephanie Brooks
- 7:28now her name wasn't actually Stephanie
- 7:29Brooks but she goes by that Alias to
- 7:31protect herself essentially so we're
- 7:33going to be calling her Stephanie Brooks
- 7:34so Ted was in love with her as much as
- 7:36he could be right as much as a
- 7:39narcissistic psychopath could be I think
- 7:41he was more like obsessed with the idea
- 7:43of her because she was beautiful she was
- 7:46rich and she had an extremely powerful
- 7:49family in the political space and these
- 7:51were all things that mattered a lot to
- 7:52Ted cuz he just wanted to work his way
- 7:54up the ladder he was willing to step on
- 7:55people's heads no matter what to make
- 7:58his way up the ladder and Stephanie
- 8:00Brooks was one of them and I think he
- 8:02was under the delusion that uh Obsession
- 8:06and want was love and and it wasn't Ted
- 8:09buddy is incapable of love he only loves
- 8:12one thing and that is himself but
- 8:13luckily she would dump his ass and he
- 8:16would unfortunately become even more
- 8:18obsessed with her cuz when you tell a
- 8:20narcissist no that just means yes in
- 8:23their brain or try harder and coming
- 8:25from somebody that's been with a
- 8:26narcissist before this is so true it is
- 8:29so true it's just messed up so he went
- 8:32on a six-year long game trying to get
- 8:34Stephanie Brooks back but during this
- 8:37long game Bundy would meet his better
- 8:39known other half Elizabeth Kendall if
- 8:42you've seen the movie extremely Wicked
- 8:44shockingly evil and vile terrible movie
- 8:46name I've always hated that movie name
- 8:47but anyway Elizabeth was the one played
- 8:49by Lily Collins Ted Bundy Zack Efron's
- 8:53other half so Bundy and Kendall met in
- 8:55October 1969 at a bar while they were
- 8:58both living in SE Seattle she was a
- 9:0024-year-old divorced single mom working
- 9:02at the University of Washington where
- 9:0422-year-old Ted Bundy was attending
- 9:06school they would soon hit it off and
- 9:08she would invite Ted Bundy back to her
- 9:11apartment no no uh luckily she was fine
- 9:14she felt sick that night and they would
- 9:16go to bed and apparently they would just
- 9:18sleep in bed and she would wake up in
- 9:20the morning and Ted was making his her
- 9:22her daughter Molly pancakes and
- 9:24Elizabeth would say in later interviews
- 9:26I fell in love with him from day one he
- 9:28took my breath away he probably wanted
- 9:30to take your breath away but not in the
- 9:31way that you think all right and he and
- 9:33he and and he did think about that as
- 9:35well he uh there was a few times later
- 9:37down the line when she caught him doing
- 9:38some pretty sus stuff looking at her
- 9:40with a flashlight under the blankets
- 9:42while she was sleeping and also doing
- 9:43some sus things with Molly later down
- 9:46the line as well like playing
- 9:47hideand-seek with her while he was nicod
- 9:50under a blanket um while aroused we're
- 9:52just getting into piece of
- 9:53territory he's already a piece of
- 9:55but um she would learn all of this a lot
- 9:58later and kind of put the pieces
- 9:59together in her head later but we'll get
- 10:01into that as well so her daughter Molly
- 10:03would also fall in love with Ted very
- 10:05quickly as well and immediately after
- 10:07that first morning they would begin a
- 10:09pretty serious relationship Bunny's
- 10:10relationship with Miss Kendall though
- 10:12was pretty volatile in February 1970
- 10:15they obtained a marriage license but he
- 10:17would rip it up a few days later during
- 10:19a fight so they would never actually get
- 10:21married ever they just stayed boyfriend
- 10:23and girlfriend and they were like off
- 10:24and on all the time it was a very very
- 10:26toxic relationship as you would assume
- 10:28with a psychopath AIC narcissistic
- 10:30serial killing murderer you know and
- 10:32anyway I digress and 2 years after that
- 10:34incident she would actually become
- 10:35pregnant but Ted Bundy would make her
- 10:38have an abortion because she needed to
- 10:40work to put him through law school what
- 10:43a gem what a great guy you know what a
- 10:46great
- 10:47fella ah what a piece of anyway but
- 10:50shortly before that incident he would
- 10:52get a job at a sler slide hotline Center
- 10:56in 1971 and this would not only be
- 10:59incredibly ironic job for a future
- 11:01serial killer this would be by Design
- 11:04because Bundy didn't necessarily lack
- 11:07empathy he was capable of it but he used
- 11:09it to create pleasure for himself if if
- 11:12that makes sense like he was smart
- 11:13enough to know how the other person was
- 11:15feeling so when you put him in a
- 11:18situation like this where he has
- 11:19desperate people on the other line he
- 11:21felt like he had all control it's all
- 11:23about control for Ted Bundy and all
- 11:26about pain like in the times in the
- 11:28future when he is torturing and
- 11:29mutilating the girls he was able to
- 11:32empathize with them and understand how
- 11:34they felt but he enjoyed that aspect of
- 11:36it he enjoyed the fact that they were
- 11:37suffering and was very aware of it and
- 11:40Anne rule his former co-worker at the
- 11:42slw slide hotline call center and author
- 11:44would go on to write a book about
- 11:46working with the serial killer Ted Bundy
- 11:49at the time not knowing he was a serial
- 11:50killer and she would title that book The
- 11:52Stranger Beside Me and she would go on
- 11:54to describe what it was like to work
- 11:56with Bundy in the book and here are some
- 11:58quotes from it on surface at least it
- 12:00seemed that I had more problems than Ted
- 12:02did he was one of those rare people who
- 12:04listen with full attention who invinc
- 12:06genuine caring by their very stance you
- 12:08could tell things to Ted that you might
- 12:10never tell anyone else cuz he was very
- 12:12open he was just like sitting there like
- 12:14this but he was just murdering people in
- 12:16the back of his brain while he's staring
- 12:18at you but he's hoping that you think
- 12:19that he's actually listening and this is
- 12:21exactly what he did this is exactly how
- 12:22he did it and she would also go on to
- 12:24say the only clue I had was that my dog
- 12:27who liked everyone didn't like Ted at
- 12:30all whenever he bent over my desk at the
- 12:32crisis clinic she growled and the
- 12:33hackles on her neck stood up the lesson
- 12:35is clear pay attention to your dog
- 12:37absolutely with ghosts murderers people
- 12:40that are sus just listen to your dogs
- 12:42your dogs know if somebody
- 12:46sucks yeah the book uh is very
- 12:48interesting I haven't read all of it but
- 12:50I I've read a lot of it and it is very
- 12:52good if you want to look at that book
- 12:54and want to get more in depth cuz I
- 12:55can't be sitting here for like 8 hours
- 12:57and telling you about this you get tired
- 12:58of me but anex explains that working
- 12:59with Ted was essentially an overall
- 13:01positive experience and the only reason
- 13:03Anne didn't end up becoming one of his
- 13:05victims was because Anne didn't exactly
- 13:07fit his mo mo meaning modus operandi
- 13:11which is a Latin phrase for meaning a
- 13:13person's specific way of doing things in
- 13:16this case a serial killer picking out
- 13:19his victims and how he carries that act
- 13:21out and Ted's victim type looked
- 13:23incredibly similar to a six-year long
- 13:26game X Stephanie Brooks coincident I
- 13:29think not but he also most likely never
- 13:31killed an because he knew her and Ted
- 13:33primarily killed strangers pretty much
- 13:35only killed strangers to remain
- 13:38undetected because he he was smart I
- 13:40mean most murders happen to somebody who
- 13:42you're close with like if I was to get
- 13:44murdered you know you'd look at you know
- 13:45my mom my dad Caleb not that any of them
- 13:48would murder me although they are in my
- 13:49will if I go missing please don't kid
- 13:52anyway but he always had a reasoning for
- 13:54what he was doing he always thought
- 13:56things through he was he was very much a
- 13:58process killer and that shows in the
- 14:02future murders that he committed this
- 14:04would also be the time when Ted would
- 14:05enroll in a Psychology major which he
- 14:08would use later on and utilize in his
- 14:10criminal Endeavors like I said he's
- 14:12always thinking about something he
- 14:13always wants to learn how to manipulate
- 14:15people better so he can get his way and
- 14:17it's also around this time in 1972 when
- 14:20he first gets involved in politics what
- 14:24oh my God what a psychopathic narcissist
- 14:27that wants to be a politician I've never
- 14:29heard of such a thing all of them are
- 14:31but this would be his only toe dip into
- 14:33politics though and it would
- 14:34specifically be for the long game
- 14:36becoming involved with Governor Dan
- 14:38Evans reelection campaign Ted would pose
- 14:41as a college student and Shadow the
- 14:43opponent of the governor just so he
- 14:45could get the stump speeches from him
- 14:47and he would bring them back to Davis
- 14:49telling him how to beat his opponent so
- 14:52he literally went undercover and EAS
- 14:54dropped on the competition for Dan Evans
- 14:57like he's just a giant piece of I I
- 14:59feel like that's just all politics so I
- 15:00just feel like it's all fake it's all
- 15:01fake and everybody's a piece of I
- 15:03need to take drink water one
- 15:05thing and Davis would go on to describe
- 15:07Bundy as smart aggressive and a believer
- 15:11in the system he believed in that
- 15:13system man because it it went in his
- 15:15favor we'll we'll get to that but godamn
- 15:18yeah and in 1973 the long game would pay
- 15:21off and Ted would get back with his
- 15:23first sweetheart Stephanie Brooks or he
- 15:26would finally convince her to get back
- 15:28with him basically and they would even
- 15:30get engaged soon after and for those of
- 15:32you who are like wait what happened to
- 15:34Elizabeth Kendall where is she she's
- 15:35here they're still dating and Kendall
- 15:37and Brooks know nothing about each other
- 15:39because Bundy is just a massive piece of
- 15:42I don't know how this guy doesn't
- 15:44get tired I mean he's not killing women
- 15:46just yet I guess or that we know of but
- 15:49yeah so he's with both women at this
- 15:50time but in classic narcissistic fashion
- 15:53as soon as Stephanie agreed to get
- 15:55engaged to him Bundy would soon after
- 15:57just cut off all contact with her he was
- 16:00the first one to just ghost out of the
- 16:02he just stopped talking to her
- 16:04completely which is Bonkers but makes
- 16:06sense for Ted cuz he's a piece of
- 16:08as we know but this is this is a classic
- 16:10narcissist type of behavior and
- 16:11Psychopathic type of behavior because he
- 16:13he had a goal he chased it and then as
- 16:16soon as he got it he just didn't want it
- 16:18anymore it's like a dog chasing a bone
- 16:19and then he gets the bone and then he
- 16:21figures out that there's no meat on the
- 16:23bone so he just tosses it away did you
- 16:25like that analogy I I'm pretty good at
- 16:27those so she would continuously tried to
- 16:29contact him and she would get a hold of
- 16:31him one day on the phone and she would
- 16:33be like what the happened where are
- 16:34you like what we were we just got
- 16:36engaged like what's going on and he
- 16:37would literally just say to her I have
- 16:39no idea what you mean he's such a
- 16:42gaslighter dude he's gaslighting me and
- 16:45he's dead I don't anyway but this is
- 16:46believed to be the Catalyst to the
- 16:49beginning of his murder spree which kind
- 16:51of makes sense so all of his victims
- 16:53would look significantly like Stephanie
- 16:55Brooks um and you can kind of look at
- 16:58that like we don't necessarily know why
- 17:00there's some serial killers that kill
- 17:02women that look like their mothers
- 17:03because they don't like them similar to
- 17:06Ed keer or or other serial killers that
- 17:09kill uh women that look like their wives
- 17:11and in this case uh he was killing women
- 17:13that look like Stephanie Brooks and also
- 17:15his current girlfriend Elizabeth Kendall
- 17:18looked a lot like Stephanie Brooks as
- 17:20well so he clearly had a type that's
- 17:22what I'm trying to say yeah a typ so on
- 17:24January 4th 1974 a woman named Karen
- 17:28Spark living in the University District
- 17:30neighborhood of Seattle was attacked in
- 17:32her home and left for dead the
- 17:34perpetrator would break into her home as
- 17:37Karen was sleeping in her bed he would
- 17:39take a metal pole off of her bed frame
- 17:41and begin to bash her head in and then
- 17:44he would continue to use that same pole
- 17:46to violate her and sa her very violently
- 17:50he would go so far up that it would
- 17:52puncture her bladder and after that
- 17:55event Sparks would be found by her
- 17:56roommate after 20 hours after the ordeal
- 17:59still breathing she would suffer
- 18:01permanent brain damage significant loss
- 18:03of hearing and vision and obviously the
- 18:05internal injuries from the sa but she
- 18:08would survive and she would be assumed
- 18:10to be Ted Bundy's first victim Karen
- 18:13would later relay to the police and the
- 18:15press that she saw Ted Bundy multiple
- 18:17times stalking her around campus he was
- 18:20stalking his prey if you will so
- 18:22although it's not recognized under the
- 18:24Gaze of the judicial system it is widely
- 18:26believed that Karen was obviously his
- 18:28first victim especially you're going to
- 18:30hear what happened to all the other
- 18:31victims and it's so incredibly obvious
- 18:33that it was Ted Bundy that did this and
- 18:35this would make sense as his first
- 18:37victim too because it was somewhat
- 18:38sloppy in the fact that she was still
- 18:41alive by the end of the assault and it
- 18:43would happen in the exact same spot as
- 18:45the other murders would happen and also
- 18:47in the same time frame everything just
- 18:49kind of adds up together but the first
- 18:51official murder victim of Ted Bundy
- 18:53would be soon after his first attack in
- 18:551974 only a month after Karen's attack
- 18:5821-year-old Linda Anne Healey was a
- 19:01popular student at the University of
- 19:03Washington the same school that Ted
- 19:04Bundy went to what and she was also a
- 19:07weather and ski reporter at a local
- 19:08radio station as well it's very possible
- 19:10that Ted uh ran into her because he
- 19:13loves skiing there's a good chance that
- 19:14he ran into her liked what he saw and
- 19:17then you know started stalking her as
- 19:19well so in February 1974 police would be
- 19:22called following up on a Miss inperson
- 19:23call regarding Healey they would find
- 19:25blood on Healey's bed sheets and pillow
- 19:28but not enough to indicate that she had
- 19:29bled to death necessarily and no
- 19:31indication to where she had gone her
- 19:33night gown would hang in the closet with
- 19:35a ring of dried blood around the neck
- 19:37but some of her clothes her pillowcase
- 19:39and her backpack were also missing it
- 19:41seemed that whoever bludgeoned her had
- 19:43crept into her room knocked her
- 19:45unconscious removed her pajamas and
- 19:47dressed her in fresh clothes sounding
- 19:49similar sounding similar sounding like
- 19:51something that he wanted to do but
- 19:53didn't end up getting to do with his
- 19:54first victim Karen's spk I'm understand
- 19:56clearly he was taking her to a second
- 19:58location never go to a second location
- 20:00with anybody although in this case I
- 20:02don't think she had a choice and she was
- 20:04unconscious so but 3 days after her
- 20:06abduction a male voice called 911 listen
- 20:09and listen carefully the person who
- 20:11attacked the girl on the 8th of the last
- 20:13month and the person who took Linda hey
- 20:15away are one and the same he was outside
- 20:18both houses he was seen how
- 20:20creepy is that like what the what do you
- 20:23even say to that i' be like what fing
- 20:25ridle is this what are you what but
- 20:27police would never get the callers name
- 20:28so Healey's disappearance was the first
- 20:30sign for the police that something
- 20:32sinister was occurring but it would take
- 20:34them a very long way too long time to
- 20:37suspect budy and 14 months after her
- 20:39disappearance her skull and jawbones
- 20:41were found on Taylor Mountain about an
- 20:44hour's drive from her home and we'll
- 20:46hear a lot about Taylor Mountain because
- 20:48it was one of his favorite places to
- 20:49drop bodies basically and it was one of
- 20:52his favorite places to come back to to
- 20:54violate those bodies but he's not doing
- 20:55that just yet but thiso would carry on
- 20:57through a lot of Bundy's Murders At the
- 20:59beginning he would break in usually at
- 21:01night often around exam periods so the
- 21:04girls were very stressed and distracted
- 21:06and he would often do it uh near or
- 21:09during construction work sites so if
- 21:12anybody's screaming or making too much
- 21:14noise there was construction going on so
- 21:16it would mask it so he's just he's
- 21:18thinking about all of the aspects it's
- 21:20it's very creepy and and and just for
- 21:23him to go through all that I mean it's
- 21:26all soing terrible but you can just see
- 21:29how strategic he was in everything that
- 21:31he did and in the future he would up the
- 21:33antee by faking injuries so he could
- 21:36more easily get girls to help him or
- 21:38carry stuff inside of his car where he
- 21:40would then budgeon them and he would
- 21:41always be sure to wear a turtleneck as
- 21:43well cuz he would be able to cover a
- 21:45very identifiable mole on his neck
- 21:47because besides that mole he had pretty
- 21:49generic features uh he was goodlooking
- 21:52but not easily described because like if
- 21:54you looked at Bundy I don't even know
- 21:56how like they did end up getting
- 21:58sketches of him but it's I feel like
- 21:59it's very hard to describe him cuz he's
- 22:02just a generic looking mother you know
- 22:03what I'm saying and during this time he
- 22:05would still be with Liz and Molly but
- 22:07Bundy's Behavior began to change in
- 22:10lizz's eyes he would drop out of her
- 22:12life mysteriously for several days for
- 22:14example leaving her to worry that she
- 22:16had done something wrong then he would
- 22:18return like nothing happened just a
- 22:20classic gaslighter dude and anytime she
- 22:22asked like where were you he was just
- 22:23like he would just put the blame on her
- 22:25like what you don't trust me what what
- 22:28just because I just because I went on a
- 22:29little road trip for like 7 days and I
- 22:31was just like out in the forest just
- 22:32like you know having relations with a
- 22:34dead body that's a problem for you
- 22:36you're crazy and she would fear that he
- 22:38was seeing other women but in fact it
- 22:40was then that he began his Killing Spree
- 22:42in Seattle specifically so I guess you
- 22:45could say he was seeing other women for
- 22:48temporarily anyway it's just it's
- 22:50terrible but in March of 1974 only 1
- 22:53month after Healey's murder Donna Gail
- 22:56Manson would be his next victim and all
- 22:58his victims up to this point and in the
- 23:00future would be killed 1 month apart or
- 23:02less moving forward so he was escalating
- 23:05pretty rapidly through this year
- 23:06specifically Donna Gail Manson was a
- 23:0819-year-old student at Evergreen State
- 23:11College south of Seattle and she would
- 23:13disappear on her way to a Campus concert
- 23:15her body was never technically found but
- 23:17Bundy later claimed he burned her skull
- 23:20in the fireplace of his girlfriend
- 23:22Elizabeth Kendall Bundy would later say
- 23:25in interviews of all the things I did to
- 23:27Liz this is probably the one she is
- 23:29least likely to forgive me for yeah yeah
- 23:31no dude and it was around this time
- 23:33that Bundy would have the audacity to
- 23:36start working at the Washington State
- 23:38Department emergency services
- 23:39essentially a place where missing people
- 23:41would be reported to so he could
- 23:43basically keep tabs on all things
- 23:45happening during the abductions and
- 23:47murders that he was committing himself
- 23:49which again it's just like it's very
- 23:51smart it's very smart and I'm not giving
- 23:53him any accolades I'm just saying like
- 23:55he just he really knows where to place
- 23:58himself and who to know but it was
- 23:59around this time also that he would
- 24:01start to be described and reported by
- 24:03multiple people so he would hear if
- 24:05someone was describing a man in a
- 24:07turtleneck or a man with crutches was
- 24:10last seen with this missing woman and
- 24:12just adjust accordingly and he would
- 24:14even start introducing as an officer to
- 24:16young women calling himself officer Ted
- 24:19Rosland that is soing cringe you're
- 24:22using see this is the what this is what
- 24:24I don't understand he's so smart and
- 24:25everything and then he uses his own
- 24:27first name and I think was just purely
- 24:29out of just him thinking that he was
- 24:31smarter and better than everyone like
- 24:33he's like I can use my first name and
- 24:35still not get caught like it has to be
- 24:37that because other than that like he's a
- 24:38smart guy I don't understand why he
- 24:40would use his first name like this guy
- 24:42he was playing ultimate improv I think
- 24:44he literally thinks that the the world
- 24:46is just his play place and he could do
- 24:48whatever he wanted and test out whatever
- 24:50he wanted he was so insanely creative
- 24:53and manipulative with his tactics you
- 24:55you can't remotely blame any of the
- 24:57victims for falling for his ACT not that
- 25:00would that I would ever blame any of the
- 25:01victims for this his act was so good and
- 25:04then on top of the fact that he's
- 25:05good-looking and that he's charming and
- 25:06that he's well read and that he he looks
- 25:08clean and cut and all all that stuff is
- 25:10is just very important factors and his
- 25:12next victim would fall for his injury
- 25:14act in April 1974 18-year-old Susan
- 25:18elain rainc Court would be doing laundry
- 25:21on her college campus in central
- 25:23Washington State and while doing laundry
- 25:25she would up and disappear there would
- 25:26be a massive search done and there would
- 25:28be no results only later on would there
- 25:31be evidence that mounted that rain Court
- 25:33was one of Ted Bundy's victims and other
- 25:35students that were on campus would
- 25:37recall that rain Court had been
- 25:39approached by a man named Ted who had
- 25:42his arm in a sling so like again like
- 25:44you're using your own name are you I
- 25:46mean I'm glad you're stupid I'm glad
- 25:47you're stupid but this would be when he
- 25:49started to Fain injuries so if a man in
- 25:51a sling comes up to you asking for help
- 25:53just say F you and the next month in May
- 25:56Roberta Kathleen pared would disappear
- 25:59on her campus at Oregon State University
- 26:01Bundy would sa her and murder her either
- 26:04in Oregon or in Washington we're not
- 26:06sure but investigators would later find
- 26:08her skull on the same Mountain as many
- 26:11of the others on Taylor mountain in
- 26:13Washington now after Bundy's last victim
- 26:15Roberta he would start to evolve and not
- 26:19in a good way at first he was saing them
- 26:22and then killing and disposing of them
- 26:24and then just leaving them to decompose
- 26:26on their own but he would start to dip
- 26:28his toe
- 26:30into just when you think it can't get
- 26:33any worse and in June Bundy would claim
- 26:35two more victims only 10 days apart this
- 26:38time on June 1st 1974 he would abduct
- 26:4222-year-old Brenda ball in the town of
- 26:44buan Seattle pretending to be
- 26:46handicapped and asking for help
- 26:48Witnesses would say that they saw her
- 26:50with a man that was also wearing a sling
- 26:52before she disappeared her skull would
- 26:54also be found eventually with all the
- 26:56others on Taylor mountain in Washington
- 26:58as as well and on June 11th 1974 so this
- 27:01is only 10 days later 18-year-old
- 27:03georganne Hawkins vanished outside the
- 27:06University of Washington with Witnesses
- 27:08saying they last saw her with a man that
- 27:10was fitted with crutches and struggling
- 27:13with a briefcase outside of a brown VW
- 27:16Bug Jordan would be knocked unconscious
- 27:18and then to death and this would be his
- 27:21first reported victim of so what he
- 27:24would do H with the women when he was
- 27:27committing is essentially he would essay
- 27:29them murder them and then uh drop them
- 27:31off at their burial point and usually
- 27:34just leave them in like covered up or in
- 27:36some sort of shallow grave and then he
- 27:37would just periodically keep coming back
- 27:40to that body to do vile things to it up
- 27:43until the point that their decomposition
- 27:45just made it not possible to do so
- 27:48anymore or to the point where he just
- 27:50thought they were gross and no longer
- 27:53hot enough they were I don't either way
- 27:55he just became more and more of a sick
- 27:58basically so Ted Bundy had killed six
- 28:01women that we know of before he started
- 28:04committing filia to his future victims
- 28:07but this would be something he would do
- 28:08to all the rest of them essentially at
- 28:10least that's what we assume based off of
- 28:12evidence and Bundy would begin to grow
- 28:14Bolder with his abductions in July
- 28:16abducting two victims in just one day so
- 28:19in broad daylight on July 14th 1974 at
- 28:23Lake samamish State Park in isqua sorry
- 28:25if I said that wrong about a 20-minute
- 28:27drive from SE Seattle Witnesses reported
- 28:29a man with his left arm in a sling had
- 28:32approached several women that day
- 28:34introducing himself as Ted you're I just
- 28:37I I anyway and asked for help rigging
- 28:41his sailboat to his car one woman
- 28:43initially would oblig but grew hesitant
- 28:45as she approached his brown Volkswagen
- 28:47Beetle with no sailboat in sight red
- 28:50flags red flags luckily this girl saw
- 28:53the red flags after Ted would say to her
- 28:55oh I forgot to tell you it's at my folks
- 28:58house just to jump up the hill he said
- 29:00in a British accent so now he's masking
- 29:02his accent with a British accent which
- 29:04again is just another layer to this
- 29:06because if they're looking for a British
- 29:07guy they're like oh it can't be Ted
- 29:08bunny right but she saw right through
- 29:10that and sheing booked it dude
- 29:12after he motioned to the passenger door
- 29:14to get in she did she just bolted but a
- 29:17little while later she saw another woman
- 29:19walking beside Ted towards the parking
- 29:21lot where his car and sailboat was and
- 29:23they were deep in conversation this
- 29:25woman was Janice an A and she would be
- 29:28abducted that day unfortunately and 4
- 29:31hours later Denise Marie nasland would
- 29:34endure the same fate and their bodies
- 29:37would be found months later but their
- 29:39killer was unknown at the time but years
- 29:41later Bundy told investigators that a
- 29:44was still alive when he kidnapped
- 29:46nasland he claimed that one was forced
- 29:48to watch the other get murdered before
- 29:50she was which is just soed up and
- 29:53terrible uh it would just be so
- 29:55horrifying I just feel bad for all of
- 29:57these these women and like they just
- 30:00didn't know they just didn't know just
- 30:01like always have your guard up that's
- 30:03like half the reason why I make these
- 30:04videos is just to just let people know I
- 30:06mean I know this is the 70s and stuff
- 30:08and it was a different time but my god
- 30:10dude it is still so prevalent especially
- 30:12with like the you know seual trade and
- 30:14all that kind of stuff this is how they
- 30:15they get people like it's nice to help
- 30:17people but also just have your guard up
- 30:19have your guard up please but the woman
- 30:20who escaped that day that also witness
- 30:23Bundy take the other girls had had an
- 30:25interaction with them so she had a
- 30:27pretty good description to tell the
- 30:29police and lo and behold the idiot said
- 30:31that his name was Ted and she would
- 30:33describe him as having Sandy blond hair
- 30:36being 510 and about 160 lb and he had a
- 30:40brown VW Bug so they commissioned a
- 30:43sketch of the suspect finally and like I
- 30:45think that's a pretty good sketch like I
- 30:47don't even know like I I don't even
- 30:48understand how people describe people
- 30:49like I guess you would describe them as
- 30:51like having like a sharp nose and
- 30:54like Shaggy is hair I mean it kind of
- 30:57looked like him right and people
- 30:58recognized that it looked like him too
- 31:00and they were saying like w so weird Ted
- 31:02doesn't that look like you he's like
- 31:03yeah but I mean like I mean the eyes are
- 31:05all weird I mean they got the unibrow
- 31:07but I don't uh oh so it is you no no no
- 31:09no no no no no no no I'm much better
- 31:11looking than that like I don't know he's
- 31:12a pretty looking guy it is me it's me
- 31:14but the police had no idea how close
- 31:17they were to actually catching Ted Bundy
- 31:19at this time because he worked on
- 31:20Seattle's s slide hotline and the
- 31:23Seattle Police Department even nominated
- 31:25him to be the director of the Seattle
- 31:28crime prevention advisory committee at
- 31:30the time he was just sitting right there
- 31:32but the police like couldn't put two and
- 31:33two together because that's just police
- 31:35and the 60s and 70s and 80s because they
- 31:37can't they can't do their job it's it's
- 31:40easy in hindsight to say that they suck
- 31:42anyway and his colleague at the SL slide
- 31:44hotline Center and Rule even reported
- 31:47her suspicion about Bundy to the police
- 31:49after seeing the sketch so she's the one
- 31:51that's just like Ted Ted that um that
- 31:54looks just slack you doesn't it it's um
- 31:56it's a bit uncanny actually don't you
- 31:58have a VW a brown VW Bug yeah that's um
- 32:01that's that's it's crazy that's crazy
- 32:03stop barking stop barking Nala Stop
- 32:06Parking I don't know why she does that
- 32:07it's really come get this guy he's a
- 32:10murderer and they're just like he's
- 32:11goodlooking like he can't have done it
- 32:13like that's literally why the cops
- 32:15didn't didn't do anything is because he
- 32:18was a cleancut well-educated guy they
- 32:20were just like he couldn't have done it
- 32:21you know that's crazy talk that's and
- 32:23you're a woman so nothing correct comes
- 32:25out of your mouth all right this is the'
- 32:2770s you just were able to vote like 20
- 32:29years ago yeah you need to shut the up
- 32:31all right know your place and even his
- 32:32devoted girlfriend at the time Liz
- 32:34Kendall contacted the police on three
- 32:37occasions to suggest that they might be
- 32:39looking for her boyfriend but she was
- 32:42rebuffed each time so she was made to
- 32:44feel like she was the idiot for even
- 32:46thinking that so she would eventually
- 32:47just think that she was the idiot for
- 32:49thinking that and stay with him and
- 32:51convinced that she wasn't being taken
- 32:52seriously because she was a woman
- 32:54classic she asked her father to talk to
- 32:56the police instead but he refused
- 32:59warning her that it would ruin Bundy's
- 33:01career and reputation if she was wrong
- 33:04which she wasn't but she would say about
- 33:07her father that he so liked Ted as we
- 33:09all did she says I feel in hindsight he
- 33:12chose Ted over his daughter and that is
- 33:14so sad dude it's so so sad but this guy
- 33:17was just a master of manipulation and
- 33:20six more people would even call and
- 33:22confirm that they thought it might be
- 33:24Ted Bundy based off of the description
- 33:26and the sketch but the police would say
- 33:28no there's no way that a clean cut law
- 33:31student with no record could ever be a
- 33:32serial killer are you stupid but also to
- 33:35give them a bit of the benefit of the
- 33:36doubt the police that is they were
- 33:38getting about 200 tips a day regarding
- 33:40this case so although unfortunate at
- 33:43this time it did kind of make sense that
- 33:45they didn't nail him down as a number
- 33:48one suspect at this point but to not
- 33:49even investigate him at all is Bonkers
- 33:53to me so as the net started to close on
- 33:56Bundy more and more and he started to
- 33:57feel the pressure around him he knew he
- 34:00had to get the out of Dodge so he up and
- 34:03left to Salt Lake City Utah to
- 34:06conveniently go to law school he would
- 34:08also get baptized in the Church of Jesus
- 34:10Christ of the Latter Day Saints can't
- 34:12wash those sins away sunny but he would
- 34:14mostly just do it purely for image just
- 34:16to to make it look good you know how
- 34:18could you be a serial killer if you get
- 34:20baptized I don't know but you can and
- 34:22the baptism was made in vain because he
- 34:25would just end up killing people anyway
- 34:26almost immediately after getting to Utah
- 34:29but Bundy would temporarily try to
- 34:32deescalate his murders or to not murder
- 34:36to deescalate his to deescalate his
- 34:39crimes if you will he'd tell himself
- 34:41okay buddy we're going to pick her up
- 34:43all right we're just going to go pick
- 34:44her up okay and just you know ripe her
- 34:48and then and then we're just going to
- 34:49drop her off all right buddy you got
- 34:51this you got this you're smart guy you
- 34:53you have control over your impulses
- 34:54you're not going to murderer all right
- 34:56and then he would just he would just uh
- 34:57end up end uping and killing them anyway
- 35:00so good try though and those first few
- 35:01women being Nancy Willcox who was
- 35:04abducted in October 1974 and Melissa
- 35:07Anne Smith and Laura an Amy and they'd
- 35:10all be found in the mountains in Utah
- 35:13soon after having been defiled after
- 35:15death multiple times up until the point
- 35:18of unrecognizable decomposition but
- 35:20there would be another Survivor though
- 35:22and her name was Rhonda Stapley she
- 35:25would be waiting for the bus when Bundy
- 35:27would offer her a ride in his brown VW
- 35:29Bug he would then take her to Cottonwood
- 35:31Canyon where he would sa her and strle
- 35:34her multiple times over and over but the
- 35:37reason she was able to escape was
- 35:38because Bundy looked away from her for
- 35:40only a few seconds and she would just
- 35:42absolutely bolt out of there but
- 35:44unfortunately she was afraid of being
- 35:46blamed and ridiculed for the event so
- 35:49she would keep this from her family her
- 35:51friends and obviously the media and
- 35:53police for over 40 years until she
- 35:56finally revealed it and appeared on
- 35:58multiple media interviews recounting the
- 36:00incident the last thing that I remember
- 36:02was uh coming to after being unconscious
- 36:06he had moved several feet away and it
- 36:07turned his back on me and I was able to
- 36:09run my pants were wadded up around my
- 36:12ankles and I tripped and fell into a
- 36:15fast moving mountain river that swept me
- 36:17away from my attacker and saved my life
- 36:20so while this is all happening Liz
- 36:22Kendall is just sitting at home with
- 36:24Molly fully oblivious to what's going on
- 36:26in Utah but they're still together Ted
- 36:28and Liz are technically still together
- 36:31she did have her suspicions though at
- 36:33the time because Bundy's behaviors were
- 36:35getting increasingly more and more
- 36:37strange if you will particularly noting
- 36:39his late night absences and strange
- 36:42items found that he could not explain
- 36:44such as medical supplies and women's
- 36:47clothing that did not belong to her
- 36:49pretty sus but despite these doubts she
- 36:52did not connect him to the murders until
- 36:54much later and I feel like that was
- 36:55mostly because there were people in her
- 36:57just saying that he he couldn't have
- 36:59done this because he is who he is he's
- 37:01you know he's successful uh with with
- 37:04his law school and politics and he's
- 37:06cleancut and he's well educated and he's
- 37:08good-looking and he could never be
- 37:10capable of doing that so she was just
- 37:12kind of brainwashed through this whole
- 37:13process up until the trials really but
- 37:15we'll get into that but November 8th
- 37:181974 would prove to be crucial for the
- 37:21eventual capture and conviction of Bundy
- 37:24first posing as a police officer named
- 37:26Rosland Ted Rosland Bundy approached
- 37:29Carol Donan at the Fashion Place Mall in
- 37:32Murray Utah he told the 18-year-old girl
- 37:35that her car was broken into and she
- 37:37needed to go to the police station this
- 37:39is like one that it's just kind of like
- 37:42really you you didn't question that at
- 37:44all I mean she was probably just so nice
- 37:46and just trusted everyone but he
- 37:48literally told her a stranger that hey I
- 37:51think your car was broken into I need to
- 37:53take you to the police station and she's
- 37:55just like okay like it's just like the
- 37:59red flags just like just think about it
- 38:00please for anybody watching right now
- 38:02and for some reason that happens to you
- 38:04for him to know that it was your car
- 38:06means that he was stalking you right
- 38:08anyway I digress but she trusted his
- 38:10story and Duran willingly got into his
- 38:12car but she quickly noticed that
- 38:14something was wrong they didn't drive
- 38:16towards the police station and Bundy's
- 38:18friendly demeanor quickly shifted into a
- 38:21cold absence when she asked him what he
- 38:23was doing he just didn't answer which is
- 38:25just I that would be so terrifying just
- 38:27like for him to just coldly be driving
- 38:29and you're just like slowly freaking out
- 38:31realizing what happened like I just I
- 38:33just can't imagine and although he
- 38:35managed to force her wrists into a pair
- 38:37of handcuffs and he threatened her with
- 38:39a gun deran broke out of the car and ran
- 38:42for her life thank God and she would
- 38:45find Refuge with a couple driving nearby
- 38:47who brought the distraught Donan to the
- 38:49police station but she couldn't find
- 38:51rosin's officer Ted rosin's face on any
- 38:55of the books of their mug shots because
- 38:56at this point Ted hadn't been officially
- 38:59arrested for anything like he had those
- 39:01little arrests when he was a kid but he
- 39:03never got uh charged for anything so he
- 39:05wasn't actually on the books for
- 39:06anything and only a few hours later this
- 39:08guy doesn't stop he would
- 39:10approach a 17-year-old by the name of
- 39:12Debbie Kent after a performance of a
- 39:14high school play in Bountiful Utah and
- 39:17he would succeed in abducting this young
- 39:20girl but despite killing and kidnapping
- 39:22Kent Bundy left behind a clue in the
- 39:25parking lot a key that match the
- 39:27handcuffs that Donan escaped with
- 39:30earlier that day and he would be stopped
- 39:32by the highway patrol later that day and
- 39:35they'd find essentially a ripe kit and a
- 39:39murder kit in the back of his vdub they
- 39:41would find a ski mask another mask made
- 39:44from panty hose a crowbar handcuffs
- 39:47trash bag rope ice pick and other items
- 39:50that were heavily suspicious so the
- 39:53police would take him in and although
- 39:55the police were not able to connect
- 39:57Bundy to Kent and other similar
- 39:59kidnappings deran would play a central
- 40:01role in Bundy's 1976 conviction when her
- 40:05testimony identified him as the man who
- 40:07kidnapped and yeah Duran you made up for
- 40:10being stupid in the beginning because
- 40:12you didn't I'm glad you didn't die and
- 40:14that you and that you did that good job
- 40:15and he would be sentenced to prison in
- 40:17Utah for a minimum of 1 to 15 years what
- 40:22kind of Gap is that that's that's in one
- 40:25year for kidnapping in a assaulting
- 40:27somebody I it's crazy to me and it's so
- 40:30obvious that he did more because of his
- 40:32ripen kit in the back of his car but
- 40:35anyway so now Ted is in jail for the
- 40:38first time but this is also the time
- 40:40when he would be extradited to Colorado
- 40:43where he was being charged with the
- 40:44murder of Karen Campbell and this is
- 40:46where Ted gets tricky and slippery dude
- 40:49this guy doesn't like to stay behind
- 40:52bars so before Ted had used a public
- 40:55defender in the case of Donan but once
- 40:58he got extradited to Colorado he decided
- 41:01he's too smart for everybody and that he
- 41:03would just act as his own defense
- 41:04Council which I mean he kind of was
- 41:07really smart I'm I'm going to like he
- 41:09was obviously very smart and especially
- 41:11in this case because if you represent
- 41:13yourself in court at the time even being
- 41:16a prisoner already you are allowed to
- 41:18use the library to study law books and
- 41:21you're allowed to do so without
- 41:23handcuffs and Ted was very privy to this
- 41:25so on June 7th 19 77 Bundy would escape
- 41:29from the Pitkin County Courthouse Law
- 41:31Library by jumping from the Second Story
- 41:34window while on recess during the
- 41:36preliminary hearing he would twist his
- 41:38ankle ironically because he always acted
- 41:40like he was injured and then he actually
- 41:41twisted his ankle so you Ted Bundy and
- 41:43then he would get up and just run into
- 41:46the forest of Colorado evading police
- 41:48Bundy jumped out of this second story
- 41:50window at the front of the Pitkin County
- 41:52Courthouse this morning he was scheduled
- 41:54for a court appearance and apparently
- 41:55had been locked into the lawline Library
- 41:57by sheriff's deputies Witnesses say he
- 41:59left in a hurry however nobody saw him
- 42:01open the window and he escaped clean in
- 42:03an unknown Direction and he would be out
- 42:05there for 6 days breaking into cabins
- 42:07and stealing food and water he would
- 42:09also steal a car cuz he loves stealing
- 42:11cars and he would try to make his way
- 42:12out of Colorado but he would be aing
- 42:15dumbass and be driving erratically and
- 42:18be pulled over and then recaptured again
- 42:21only 6 days later after his escape and
- 42:24what's kind of funny and awesome is the
- 42:26fact that he was most likely going to
- 42:28get off for this murder charge that he
- 42:31was currently on trial for and that he
- 42:33escaped from because all the evidence in
- 42:35that trial was completely circumstantial
- 42:38and DNA testing wasn't a thing yet so
- 42:41they had nothing on him basically so he
- 42:42was pretty much in the clear at this
- 42:45point so him escaping was essentially
- 42:47the nail in the coffin so he would be
- 42:49put in jail again but this mother
- 42:52slippery decided to break out of
- 42:54jail again or at least try to and it's
- 42:56also important to note that it was at
- 42:58this time that he already started to
- 43:00gain Traction in the media and women
- 43:02were starting to Fawn and Fang girl over
- 43:05this psychopath so while in jail Bundy
- 43:08would acquire a hacksaw from another
- 43:10inmate that had toing hurt if you know
- 43:12what I mean and he would obtain $500
- 43:15that was sent into him from fans from
- 43:18around the country mostly women and he
- 43:20would start to hacked and saw a one
- 43:22square foot hole Andy defrain style
- 43:25shout out to sha Shank Redemption one of
- 43:26my favorite movies into the corner of
- 43:28the cell ceiling every night during
- 43:31shower time when all the cellmates would
- 43:33be showering he would just be and
- 43:35hacking away at this hole in the ceiling
- 43:36I don't know what he covered it with
- 43:38though I feel like it'd be pretty
- 43:39obvious to see if you were a um guard or
- 43:41something but I guess not during this
- 43:42time he would also lose 35 lb in order
- 43:46to fit through this hole so if this guy
- 43:48was committed to actually de escalating
- 43:50as much as he was to losing weight we
- 43:52would have a much different story now
- 43:54but I digress so Ted would lose the
- 43:56weight and dig the hole and he would
- 43:58even do practice runs during this time
- 44:00to see if he could get away with it and
- 44:02if there was any other factors that he
- 44:04had to take into account during his
- 44:06escape again very smart so once he built
- 44:08up the confidence to do the deed on
- 44:11December 30th 1977 he would make another
- 44:14escape attempt he would crawl into his
- 44:16hole and he would pop out into the
- 44:19Jail's crawl space break through the
- 44:21ceiling into the apartment of the chief
- 44:23Jailer who was conveniently out with his
- 44:26girlfriend at the time and he would walk
- 44:28out the door to freedom from there he
- 44:30would steal a car and make his way to
- 44:32Chicago where he would go for a pit stop
- 44:34and then make his way to Tallahassee
- 44:37Florida a place where nobody wants to go
- 44:39except for Ted budy I'm just kidding I'm
- 44:41just kidding and this is where he would
- 44:43continue his heinous crimes in an even
- 44:46more brutal fashion and in the meantime
- 44:48Liz was just grappling with the fact
- 44:50that everyone in their dog were saying
- 44:52he's a murderer now you know cuz she was
- 44:56just giving him the benefit of the doubt
- 44:57and everybody that was saying that he
- 44:59wasn't one is saying that he is one
- 45:01besides her dad he her dad really really
- 45:03liked him so she was just in the state
- 45:05of denial but was socially being forced
- 45:07to distance herself from him so at this
- 45:09point she is she is now distancing
- 45:11herself cuz she knows that he escaped
- 45:13from jail which just makes you look
- 45:15guilty to be honest and she doesn't want
- 45:17to be a part of that at all but so Bundy
- 45:20now feeling like an Untouchable God at
- 45:22this point decided to go on an
- 45:24absolutely horrific spree starting at
- 45:27Omega house slaughterings in Florida so
- 45:30on January 15th
- 45:321978 in the early hours Ted would enter
- 45:35the Omega house at Florida State
- 45:37University in Tallahassee and within
- 45:40approximately only 15 minutes Bundy
- 45:43brutally attacked four sleeping women
- 45:46Margaret Bowman and Lisa Levy were
- 45:48murdered Bowman was strangled with a
- 45:50nylon stocking and Levy suffered severe
- 45:52beatings and a bite mark on her body
- 45:55which later played a very crucial role
- 45:57in Bundy's conviction the two other
- 45:59women Karen Chandler and Kathy Kleiner
- 46:01survived the attacks despite their
- 46:03serious injuries and Bundy's Rampage
- 46:05would continue that night after he
- 46:08brutally attacked Four Women he would go
- 46:10on to attack Cheryl Thomas as well who
- 46:13lived nearby he was an absolute animal
- 46:16he was an insatiable monster at this
- 46:19point and he wouldn't be done just yet
- 46:21after he murdered those two women and
- 46:23Cheryl Thomas Ted Bundy would have about
- 46:25a month of a cool down period to lay low
- 46:28and he would break that cooling period
- 46:30by going to a junior high school in Lake
- 46:32City Florida on February 9th 1978 a 10
- 46:36buddy would call over 12-year-old
- 46:38Kimberly leech to help him with
- 46:40directions but soon after he would
- 46:42kidnap her Bundy would then and murder
- 46:45the 12-year-old girl piece of I
- 46:47want to kill him I hope he's burning in
- 46:49hell I hate him so much and Kimberly's
- 46:51body was later discovered at Swani River
- 46:54State Park badly decomposed and this
- 46:57crime would be Bundy's last known murder
- 47:00before his final arrest in Pensacola
- 47:03later that month and he would get caught
- 47:05for the same he got caught for
- 47:07before this guy isn't as smart as we
- 47:09thought I guess thank God so on February
- 47:1115th 1978 in Pensacola Florida
- 47:1431-year-old Bundy was driving a stolen
- 47:17orange Volkswagen Beetle this guy loved
- 47:19Beatles And I don't know why he looks
- 47:21like a loser in the I feel like only
- 47:2316-year-old girls drive that kind of car
- 47:25but anyway he caught the attention of
- 47:27Pensacola police officer David Lee for
- 47:30having a stolen vehicle and for also
- 47:31driving erratically so David would pull
- 47:34Bundy over and when challenged Bundy
- 47:36initially provided a stolen
- 47:38identification but he was recognized by
- 47:40the officer during the arrest process so
- 47:43Bundy would then attempt to run but very
- 47:45quickly be subdued and arrested go David
- 47:48Lee and shortly after being arrested for
- 47:50the third and final time Bundy would be
- 47:52charged for the Mega murders due to the
- 47:55forensic evidence being found
- 47:57which was a dental impression of teds
- 48:00that matched the bite marks inflicted
- 48:02upon Lisa Levy and due to the witnesses
- 48:04placing him in that area at the time of
- 48:06the murders as well so everything's
- 48:08coming together finally everything's
- 48:09coming together the pot is full and now
- 48:11we're just dop in that over so now
- 48:13at this point Liz is pretty much
- 48:16completely cutting off Ted Bundy she's
- 48:18she's she has distanced herself from him
- 48:21and he he doesn't really care I mean he
- 48:23doesn't really care about anything but
- 48:25soon after Liz would go a woman named
- 48:28Carol Anne Boon would come into the
- 48:30picture a woman that he knew back in
- 48:321974 working with her and she was just
- 48:36obsessed with Ted so she was by his side
- 48:39through this next entire trial period
- 48:43and for years after he got convicted as
- 48:45well this is a psychopath she looks like
- 48:47a psychopath dude so in June
- 48:491979 Ted Bundy would be the first trial
- 48:53to be televised nationally Mr Bundy yes
- 48:56wants to talk to you man come up to the
- 48:58bar here this court is not going to
- 49:00follow your schedule the beginning of
- 49:02Ted Bundy's trial for the Chi Omega
- 49:04murders was a spectacle largely because
- 49:07Bundy chose to serve as his own defense
- 49:09attorney again having a legal background
- 49:12and having been a law student and bolded
- 49:14him to make the unusual decision cuz it
- 49:16was not common at all to do this
- 49:18especially in a murder trial so it was
- 49:20like a movie playing itself basically
- 49:23for people watching this
- 49:24self-representation was highly
- 49:26unorthodox and very risky for Ted
- 49:28contributing to the media circus
- 49:30surrounding the trial and his
- 49:32interactions with the judge and
- 49:33prosecution were often contentious and
- 49:37his direct involvement in the
- 49:38proceedings such as cross-examining
- 49:40Witnesses added a dramatic and
- 49:42unsettling layer to the trial attracting
- 49:44public and media interest even further
- 49:47and just watching him throughout the
- 49:48trials cuz I watched a lot leading up to
- 49:50this he's just like so overly confident
- 49:53and smiling and laughing and just
- 49:55talking down to people he's just like
- 49:57just a grade aing narcissistic
- 50:00psychopath and it just makes me mad
- 50:02watching him and he would talk about
- 50:04himself in the third person and it was
- 50:06it was just very strange but also I
- 50:08could see why people were so intrigued
- 50:11by this trial I mean I know I would have
- 50:13been like watching it I wouldn't have
- 50:14been one of his fans or anything but I
- 50:16think I think it was extremely
- 50:17interesting to watch at the time and
- 50:19during the middle stage of Ted Bundy's
- 50:21trial the prosecution's presentation of
- 50:23the forensic evidence was pivotal one of
- 50:26the most significant pieces of the
- 50:27evidence was the bite mark analysis
- 50:30experts testified that the bite marks
- 50:32found on Lisa Levy's body was
- 50:34conclusively matched Bundy's teeth and
- 50:36he has a dub teeth dude it's like it's
- 50:39like so obvious and the way he tried to
- 50:41like talk his way out of it was like
- 50:42almost embarrassing when you were
- 50:44arrested on February 15th 1978 in
- 50:47Pensacola did you have a chip in your
- 50:49right front tooth no I did not when did
- 50:51your tooth become
- 50:53chipped in the best as I can recall it
- 50:56been the middle middle part of March of
- 50:5878 this testimony became a critical
- 51:01component of the case offering direct
- 51:03physical evidence linking Bundy to the
- 51:05crime which is basically best case
- 51:06scenario Additionally the emotional
- 51:08testimonies of the survivors added a
- 51:10profound human element to the
- 51:12proceedings as well for the jury
- 51:14including Kathy Kleiner and Karen
- 51:16Chandler both who survived the brutal
- 51:18assaults in the Omega sority house
- 51:20vividly recounting the terror and
- 51:22attacks and strengthening the
- 51:24prosecution's case against Bundy so
- 51:26these elements combined made this phase
- 51:29of the trial both gripping and crucial
- 51:31in the move towards Bundy's conviction
- 51:33and Bundy would exhibit a range of
- 51:35behaviors that were often seen as
- 51:38audacious and unsettling by people
- 51:40watching taking on the role of his own
- 51:42attorney he displayed a disturbing level
- 51:44of confidence and charm that was in
- 51:47congruent with the seriousness of the
- 51:48charges against him so when I was saying
- 51:50like he's laughing and and being just so
- 51:53ostentatious and just like just a prick
- 51:56basically he was just so L fair about
- 51:58the whole thing and this included
- 52:00cross-examining Witnesses and sometimes
- 52:02directly interacting with the victim's
- 52:04families as well which many found
- 52:06disturbing and extremely disrespectful
- 52:08obviously and the public reaction to
- 52:10Bundy during the trial was mixed some
- 52:13viewers were horrified by the details of
- 52:15the crimes and his apparent lack of
- 52:17remorse While others were strangely
- 52:19fascinated by his Charisma and
- 52:21intelligence cuz he quite literally had
- 52:24super fans during this trial the these
- 52:26fans being predominantly women because
- 52:28we're crazy sometimes let's be real
- 52:30often filled the courtrooms some even
- 52:33mimicking Bundy's hairstyle and dress
- 52:35this unusual fan base would add a
- 52:38surreal aspect to the proceedings as
- 52:40they often expressed support for Bundy
- 52:43and he would almost like show off for
- 52:45them in interviews and and anytime he
- 52:47was in the public eye 78204 Florida
- 52:49statute I'll plead not guilty right now
- 52:51and your grand jurs being pres in side
- 52:53Court further gives the court to be
- 52:54informed and understand that Theodore
- 52:56Robert on the 15th day of January in Le
- 52:58County Florida did then and there
- 53:00unlawfully attempt to kill a human being
- 53:02to W C Karen Chandler by beating her
- 53:04about the head and knowingly or
- 53:05intentionally causing great bodily harm
- 53:07and said attempt was perpetrated by said
- 53:09Theodore Robert Bundy from or with a
- 53:11premeditated design or intent to affect
- 53:13the death of said Karen Chandler and
- 53:15this would complicate The public's
- 53:16perception of him as a charismatic yet
- 53:19brutal murderer the presence of these
- 53:21fans highlighted the complex and often
- 53:23conflicting responses to Buddy's person
- 53:26this Duality contributed to the media
- 53:29frenzy making this trial a landmark in
- 53:31public interest and television
- 53:33broadcasting and also influencing how
- 53:35future criminal trials would be covered
- 53:38cuz there's just obvious bias being
- 53:40being made by televising this and you
- 53:43can kind of see that also in like the
- 53:45Johnny Depp and Amber herd trials like
- 53:47there's it's just it's impossible not to
- 53:48have a bias when you're watching it
- 53:50right in front of you and and favor one
- 53:52over the other based off of other
- 53:53people's opinions and based off of what
- 53:55you're seeing not even just just the
- 53:56evidence and Bundy I mean he didn't
- 53:58really have a defense it would all
- 54:00center around questioning the
- 54:02reliability of the scientific validity
- 54:05of the forensic evidence presented
- 54:07against him particularly the bitemark
- 54:09evidence he also attempted to undermine
- 54:11The credibility of witnesses and their
- 54:14testimonies and suggested that the
- 54:16investigation itself was biased against
- 54:18him due to his prior criminal charges
- 54:20and this approach was just seen as
- 54:22audacious and was ultimately
- 54:24unsuccessful because at the end of Ted
- 54:26Bundy trial for the Omega murders the
- 54:28jury deliberated for under 7 hours which
- 54:31sounds like a long time but it's that's
- 54:33pretty that's a pretty good time that's
- 54:34pretty quick indicating the compelling
- 54:36nature of the evidence presented Bundy
- 54:38would be found guilty of the murders of
- 54:41Margaret Bowman and Lisa Levy as well as
- 54:43the assaults of three other women
- 54:45following the verdict the court would
- 54:47sentence him to death yeah dude cute
- 54:50dude you I hope you're burning in Hell a
- 54:51judge in Miami today followed the jury's
- 54:54recommendation and sentenced Theodore
- 54:55Bundy to die in the electric chair for
- 54:57the murder of two co-eds Bundy is the
- 54:59136th person under death sentence in
- 55:02Florida and judge Edward cart made
- 55:05remarks that were noted for their
- 55:07unusual tone of personal reflection he
- 55:10commented on the tragedy of Bundy's
- 55:13crimes given Bundy's intelligence and
- 55:16potential to contribute positively to
- 55:19society it was just like a is a weird
- 55:21tone it was just like oh man that's a
- 55:24shame cuz you're awesome you're you
- 55:25killed those people but you're pretty
- 55:27great you know this is exactly what he
- 55:29said it's a tragedy for this court to
- 55:32see such a total waste I think of
- 55:35humanity that I've experienced in this
- 55:37court you're a bright young
- 55:39man you made a good lawyer I'd love to
- 55:41had you practice in front of me but you
- 55:43went another way partner he's literally
- 55:45saying like you're you're pretty good
- 55:47dude and I I don't give a that you
- 55:49killed all those women them honestly you
- 55:51know I do it too behind the scenes um
- 55:53I'm just kidding that's that's false but
- 55:55uh but was just strange it just goes to
- 55:58show how how incredibly charismatic and
- 56:00manipulative and smart he actually was
- 56:03cuz he was able to manipulate a whole
- 56:05ass judge dude this guy murdered
- 56:08multiple women and got a guilty verdict
- 56:10for it and this guy's just
- 56:12saying you're all right but after his
- 56:15sentencing of the Omega murders he would
- 56:17be put on trial again for the murder of
- 56:1912 year-old Kimberly leech in 1980 Bundy
- 56:23was tried for the kidnapping and murder
- 56:25of and the trial would be particularly
- 56:28emotional due to the young age of the
- 56:30victim and to the brutal nature of the
- 56:32crime and Bundy was found guilty again
- 56:34and received another death sentence
- 56:36double homicide man it's not
- 56:39looking good for you and Ted Bundy being
- 56:41the tenacious narcissistic psychopath
- 56:43that he was continuously filed for
- 56:46appeals challenging everything from
- 56:48forensic evidence to used in Trials to
- 56:51the competency of the jury but all his
- 56:53appeals were ultimately denied and
- 56:57during Ted Bundy's trial in Florida
- 56:59after he was sentenced his romantic life
- 57:01included a significant relationship with
- 57:03whom I mentioned before Carol Anne Boon
- 57:06and Boon believed in Bundy's innocence
- 57:09and moved to Florida to be closer to him
- 57:11during his trials and in a dramatic turn
- 57:14during his 1980 trial for the murder of
- 57:17Kimberly leech the 12-year-old girl
- 57:19Bundy would propose to Boon in the
- 57:22courtroom while she was testifying on
- 57:24his behalf what a giant
- 57:26piece of smelly goddamn dude and
- 57:30the proposal was legally recognized
- 57:32under Florida law which stated that
- 57:34marriage declaration in court in front
- 57:36of a judge constituted a legal marriage
- 57:38so this guy like found a loophole and
- 57:40just devalued the whole trial of
- 57:43Kimberly it's just disgusting and Boon
- 57:45would become pregnant and gave birth to
- 57:48a daughter soon after as well I guess he
- 57:50got conjugal visits I don't know and her
- 57:52name would be Rose and this would be in
- 57:541982 and she would claim that was Bundy
- 57:57however the relationship did become
- 57:59strained especially after Bundy began
- 58:02making confessions to his crimes and
- 58:04Boon would eventually move away ending
- 58:06all contact with him in the final years
- 58:09of this piece of shit's life on death
- 58:11row Ted Bundy like I said would begin
- 58:13confessing to numerous murders some of
- 58:16which remained unresolved and these
- 58:18confessions started around 1986 and
- 58:20continued up until his execution in 1989
- 58:24Bundy detailed specific actions and
- 58:26methods he used in the crimes providing
- 58:28information that only the murderer would
- 58:30know his aim in doing this was just to
- 58:32manipulate the system potentially
- 58:33extending his life by offering these
- 58:35confessions in exchange for delays in
- 58:38his execution schedule so he'd be able
- 58:40to control the narrative around the
- 58:42crimes up to the end but alas Ted Bundy
- 58:45would be executed on January 24th 1989
- 58:50at Florida State Prison in Stark Florida
- 58:53on that day he was put to death in the
- 58:55electric chair known as ol Sparky I feel
- 58:57like every electric chair everywhere is
- 58:59named ol Sparky I've been to two prisons
- 59:01not not me I visited like prisons that
- 59:05have been out of commission anyway their
- 59:07electric chairs were named olark anyway
- 59:08he would be put to death at 7:16 a.m.
- 59:11local time Bundy's execution followed a
- 59:14decade of Trials appeals confessions and
- 59:17numerous murders and his final words
- 59:19were reportedly directed to his lawyer
- 59:21and close friends expressing his love
- 59:24and appreciation yourself his last words
- 59:26were I'd like to give my love to my
- 59:28family and friends whatever dude burn in
- 59:31hell I don't give a and Bundy's
- 59:32death would Mark the end of a long and
- 59:35tumultuous legal Saga and brought
- 59:37closure to many families and victims and
- 59:40crowds outside the prison cheered upon
- 59:42hearing the news of his execution which
- 59:45is medal as Ted Bundy even in death
- 59:48stirred
- 59:49hatred
- 59:54singing but but anyway that concludes
- 59:58the video I know this this was a long
- 1:00:00one this was a long one and I hope I
- 1:00:02gave you some information you haven't
