0:16York City to Singapore and back in three
0:18different cabins premium

0:25business and first and then here you've

0:39in I mean literally this is like bigger
0:43than my first apartment in New York I
0:46even met some YouTube celebrities on the
0:48way and we've got some pretty awesome
0:51neighbors how's it going hey all to see
0:54if the more premium seats are really
0:56worth the bigger
0:58bucks first up we'll start with premium
1:01economy I flew this cabin from Singapore
1:03to Frankfurt on the A380 roundtrip costs
1:06about $3,500 while One Way comes in
1:09around
1:102,000 the airline tells me usually
1:12premium economy passengers trade up from
1:14regular economy which can be $800
1:17cheaper for a one
1:18way I got to Changi Airport super early
1:21to enjoy some of its famous amenities
1:23security was really fast because it's
1:25right at your gate with my ticket I also
1:28got priority boarding over regular
1:30economy economy takes up the entire
1:32lower level of this double-decker plane
1:35and premium is in the front with two
1:36seats on either side and four in the
1:38middle I luckily got bumped up to the
1:41first row so I got a bit more leg room
1:43but I had to put all my stuff in the
1:45overhead bin and well it barely fit but
1:48the seats were big an inch bigger than
1:50in regular economy and with six extra
1:53inches of pitch or the distance between
1:55the back of your seat and the seat in
1:56front of you there was a blanket and
1:59pill awaiting for me me and thank God
2:00some water because I am perpetually
2:03dehydrated eacht comes with a 13.3 in TV
2:07with a remote and control on the
2:09armrest just like in first and business
2:11class you get noise cancelling
2:12headphones that plug into your seat
2:15there are cup holders and a couple of
2:17chargers one universal and two
2:20USB about an hour into our flight we got
2:22served our first meal I chose the spicy
2:25fish with blue rice called Nasi kurabu I
2:28love that this dish came with lot of
2:30sides like cheese and crackers but to be
2:32honest I didn't like this side the fish
2:35was actually really good it felt like a
2:37really creative meal compared to
2:39anything I'd ever eaten in economy and
2:41I'm a sucker for ice cream so when they
2:43came around with this little hog ands
2:45cup I was pumped the service is
2:47something I noticed across the cabins
2:49the flight attendants were constantly
2:51checking in and eager to help even in
2:53the cheaper seats but the thing I was
2:55most worried about was being able to
2:56sleep in economy and while the headrest
2:58didn't fully hold my my head the
3:00footrest was a game changer it flipped
3:02out from the bottom of my seat and there
3:04was even a leg rest plus the seat
3:06reclined a lot I did however notice
3:09there was a pretty big gap between the
3:11window seat and the fuselage so it
3:13wouldn't have been easy to sleep against
3:14the wall either our second meal came
3:17about an hour before landing I got the
3:19omelette with some
3:20sausages I did like that the meal was
3:22more breakfasty because we landed in
3:24Germany at about 6:00 a.m. so it helped
3:26me adjust to the time zone I had a nice
3:29experience in premium economy and the 13
3:31hours flew by pretty quickly pun
3:34intended I only had one complaint while
3:36the bathrooms were big for economy I
3:38felt like there was always a long line
3:41which I do kind of understand with space
3:43constraints you can only have a certain
3:45amount of toilets 30,000 ft in the
3:47air next up business class I flew this
3:51from New York New Jersey to Singapore so
3:54we just went through security and we are
3:56about to board our flight uh to
3:58Singapore this is not nonstop the second
4:00longest flight in the world right your
4:02seat here M just your right here thank
4:05you so much you're
4:07welcome the flight's just shy of 19
4:10hours and despite the mammoth amount of
4:13time I thought this ride was awesome we
4:16flew on the a350 900 ulr or Ultra long
4:20range because it covers over 9500 mil a
4:24one-way ticket usually costs around
4:26$5,500 and roundtrip they can reach
4:29over12 $12,000 on weekends we were the
4:32first group to board because there's no
4:34first class on the
4:37a350 and even at 9:30 in the morning you
4:40got your welcome
4:42champagne the seat was huge 28in width
4:4660in pitch it felt like a Space Capsule
4:50I especially loved all the storage
4:52because I am in capable of packing light
4:55of course you had the overhead bin but
4:57there were all these nooks and crannies
4:58for the rest of your stuff
5:00and then there's some storage down here
5:02for your small
5:04carry-on this door led to a toiletries
5:06cubby with a mirror right next to it
5:09your books could go here and there are
5:12different lights scattered around the
5:14seat and this is your table just need a
5:16little
5:18power pops out like
5:20that buttons on the armrest control your
5:23seat reclin and lights and call the
5:24flight attendant while you're
5:26essentially moving in for a day feeling
5:28like I was able to unpack back a bit
5:30strangely made it feel a bit homier so
5:33we just took off about 10:00 a.m. New
5:35York time 11:00 p.m. Singapore time and
5:38we have just under 18 hours left to go
5:4145 minutes into the flight they came by
5:43to take orders for the first of two
5:45meals the flight attendants like to
5:47stick to the set meal time for everyone
5:49so the food is fresh but there is some
5:52flexibility say you want to get on the
5:53flight and go straight to sleep you can
5:55just tell the flight attendant is like
5:57okay let me hold my meal service I'll
5:59take it later and I'll let you do that
6:01here you get a whole menu booklet then
6:04they come around to set the table with
6:06Linens real silverware and a butter
6:08plate and of course
6:11wine this is when it's set in just how
6:13fancy this was it's served on actual
6:17China can I get you some Rose gar bread
6:20oh garlic bread please thank you
6:22everyone got the same first appetizer a
6:25salad with smoked trout but you can
6:26order vegetarian and Halal options
6:29online for your flight and I'm not
6:31usually a fan of smoked well anything
6:33but except barbecue and this smoked
6:36trout is actually really good um it's
6:38just tastes Super Fresh then I ordered
6:41the Chinese pork rib noodle soup with
6:42wheat noodles and veggies so when you're
6:45flying all the noise the air pressure
6:47and the altitude tend to make your taste
6:50buds not work as well so you just simply
6:53can't taste as much and surprisingly
6:55this is really flavorful I think the use
6:57of these chilies probably helps a lot in
6:59pumping up flavor without needing to add
7:00extra salt that would bloat you and then
7:03you get to choose a
7:05dessert cheese freshes salted caramel
7:10ice cream I ordered the honey salted
7:12caramel almond ice cream and I was able
7:14to snag some
7:17cheese I scored two
7:20desserts I hated blue cheese growing up
7:22cuz it was just like a punch in the face
7:24and this is this really good and I like
7:27to think ice cream is entirely its own
7:30food group I love it that much so if I
7:32say it's pretty good it's pretty good I
7:35mean I'm getting full but not stuffed so
7:38I think that they've done a really good
7:40job portioning these out and also
7:42balancing up the flavors considering you
7:44can't taste a lot when you're in a plane
7:46after my first meal I settled in to
7:48watch a movie the TV is supposed to be
7:5015.4 in wide and I'm a dork so I
7:53measured it it actually looks like it's
7:56a little longer than that so whoos to
7:58Singapore
8:00then the flight attendant came by to
8:01turn the seat into my bed for the next 8
8:03hours before 2004 business class on this
8:06Airline didn't have a LIF flat bed but
8:09now the carrier knows sleep is the
8:11number one concern for passengers so the
8:13big investment in LIF flat Tech makes
8:15sense and follows a trend across the
8:17entire industry it's not actually the
8:20seat that you're lying on it's the back
8:21of it so they flip the seat down and
8:23there's this probably 2in mattress pad
8:27on the back of the seat I measured the
8:29bed later in the flight and it came to
8:31about 75
8:33in and if you're a little taller like me
8:36about 5'9 your feet actually have to go
8:39at the
8:40diagonal off to the right here so if you
8:42want to sleep completely flat you have
8:44to put your feet in this little cubby
8:46here I definitely wished that I was
8:48shorter so I could have stretched out
8:50completely there's also a divider here
8:52so if you're traveling with someone you
8:54can keep it open but if it's time to go
8:55to bed and you want to say goodbye you
8:57can just close it
9:00the TV screen pops out so you can watch
9:02it laying down but it doesn't come out
9:04very far so these are the provided noise
9:07cancelling headphones and this off to
9:10your right is the remote so you can
9:13control everything on the TV pick your
9:16movie look at inflight menus the lights
9:19are also designed to help you get on
9:21Singapore time by the end of your 18h
9:23hour flight there are 16,000 different
9:26light settings so when you first take
9:27off right now the lights are set as
9:30daytime lights since we just left New
9:32York about 4 hours into the flight the
9:34lights changed again the lights have
9:36gone down so a couple people are
9:38watching movies I'm probably just going
9:40to take a along now see you in a bit I
9:43had a good nap and we are now in single
9:46digits 9 hours 59 minutes left I woke up
9:50super hungry and I was able to request a
9:52light snack and as those lights slowly
9:55came back on the smell of food started
9:57filling the cabin not too long after
9:59after they came by to take our order for
10:00the second meal and of course this came
10:03with some more
10:04wine first up the appetizer everyone
10:07gets this is the Citrus grilled shrim
10:09salad and it has honey glazed walnuts
10:12blackberries croutons mixed greens and a
10:16balsamic ginger dressing uh so this time
10:18I got a pretzel bun very excited for
10:20that um and honestly The Greens in the
10:24salad look a little
10:25wilted and I stood corrected it was
10:28yummy although I still think the smoke
10:30trout won
10:32out thank you so much wow it's so
10:37big for my main course I got salmon over
10:40couscous and sauteed veggies the Pearl
10:42couscous I could do without um and the
10:45salmon pretty standard it's kind of nice
10:47to have a healthy piece of fish that
10:49size on a plane but honestly you could
10:52just give me a whole plate of that
10:53vegetable goodness and I would have been
10:55happy and for dessert I got an apple
10:58cake with Berry sauce it's like pretty
11:00grainy texture and it sort of just like
11:03disappears in your mouth I definitely
11:06think the ice cream was probably double
11:09as good as this one is but oh maybe I
11:11can flag down another scoop of ice cream
11:13cuz that was my
11:14favorite I did want to show you all the
11:16bathroom because it was big and fully
11:19stocked I think this is some kind of
11:21cologne or perfume got some hand lotion
11:25and a facial Mist toothbrush and a
11:27toothpaste so in this
11:30compartment we have some air sickness
11:33bags better safe than sorry hair brush
11:36and a comb some shaving
11:39cream and a
11:42razor I headed back to my seat and
11:44watched a few more movies then before I
11:46knew it so we were about 30 minutes from
11:48Landing we waited over 18 hours honestly
11:52it really wasn't that bad in business
11:53class at all we just arrived in
11:55Singapore we're waiting for our bags and
11:57honestly all things considered I'm
11:59feeling pretty energized so I think
12:01everything from the food to the service
12:03to the bed in the seat it all made it a
12:07really enjoyable flight for how long it
12:09was and finally the big ticket item the
12:12first class Suite this can be one of the
12:15most expensive airline tickets on the
12:17planet round trip from New York City to
12:20Singapore with a layover can cost over
12:23$23,000 the airline says most passengers
12:26are CEOs or execs and special occasion
12:29Travelers for birthdays honeymoons
12:31anniversaries I flew only half the
12:33journey from Frankfurt to New York City
12:35a flight that usually costs about
12:38$6,000 this 9-hour route is what's
12:41called a fifth Freedom flight it means
12:43an airline from one nation Singapore in
12:45this case is allowed to move passengers
12:47between two other countries the US and
12:49Germany there aren't a lot of these
12:51routes because they require approval
12:53from three countries instead of two but
12:56they're a cool way to fly some of the
12:57world's best Airlines without having to
12:59go all the way to their home country and
13:01like my premium economy flight this was
13:03also on the massive two level
13:05A380 most first class passengers board
13:08on the second level with a whole
13:10separate jetway but I wanted to see the
13:12famous A380 stairs so I boarded on the
13:14first
13:16level welcome thank you so much morning
13:19Miss hello pleasure to have your
13:24perfect good very
13:26excited and I found my seat in three 3 a
13:30the suite was huge it legitimately did
13:33not feel like I was on a plane it was
13:35more like a mini hotel room like many
13:38other Asian and Middle Eastern Airlines
13:40Singapore has really ramped up its
13:41luxury offerings in the last decade with
13:44a focus on Design This Suite is 50 squ
13:47ft and can be fully
13:49enclosed on one side of the suite sits
13:51the large lounge chair 35 in wide with a
13:54whopping 81 in of pitch the chair
13:58swivels around to three
14:00positions first is for takeoff the
14:03second chair position like if I want to
14:06go towards the
14:09TV or that's really good for eating and
14:12the table pops out from the compartment
14:14on the wall and then this
14:18one is so I can utilize the workstation
14:21and look out the
14:23window and honestly I think this might
14:25be my favorite
14:26part this little shade it's so
14:32cute night night you can also put this
14:35chair in a deep recline so this is your
14:38remote control for the seat window plane
14:41TV positions and this is your remote
14:44control for the TV the 32-in TV flips
14:47out so I could watch it from my seat I
14:50controlled the TV from the remote in the
14:52armrest actually turning on the TV
14:55toggling through your movies it's for
14:57gamingz there's lots of loaded games GES
14:59on the TV and then this is the the
15:02search function all those controls are
15:05also on this
15:07tablet and this dot here there's also
15:11another one on the other side of the
15:13room in this control panel pretty
15:15similar you got your attendant call
15:18button do not disturb moving the seat
15:22and moving the TV and right next to your
15:24seat to the left you have all of your
15:27plugs and your headphones can go in here
15:31while you're
15:32sleeping or right here on the
15:36armrest while you're watching TV in the
15:38scene if I thought business class had a
15:41bunch of storage this one blew me away
15:44there was an actual
15:45closet like it's a pretty deep closet
15:49it's the craziest part don't even come
15:52at me that my first partment didn't even
15:53have a
15:54closet there are compartments inside the
15:57desk with this beautiful
15:59quilting so you can put some eyeglasses
16:02in here and they won't get scratched
16:04even if there's a little turbulence and
16:06then here you've got a little vanity

16:10mirror that pops out so this countertop
16:14here is obviously not real marble cuz
16:17that would be really heavy for a plane
16:19but it's the same coldness that real
16:22Stone would give you and they created
16:24that effect because they used resin and
16:27real Stone and then you have this extra
16:29storage down here which I've utilized
16:32for other stuff the VP of inflight
16:34Services told me she designed this space
16:36for a Birkin bag which clearly I do not
16:38have but that's what it can be for the
16:41suite came with an amenities kit as well
16:44room spray soap body lotion and lip
16:48balm a little nicer than the birs bees
16:50I'm used to there was some noise
16:52cancelling headphones just like in
16:54business and premium economy but these
16:56ones were fancier
16:59at me for my
17:00fingernails nervous habit our first meal
17:04service happened about a half hour after
17:06takeoff just like in business class I
17:08got a menu of dishes to choose from and
17:10the drinks and courses just kept coming
17:13few a little people oh yeah top me off
17:16thank
17:17you first up the signature chicken s
17:20with peanut sauce one thing I do want to
17:22note about this table is a lot of first
17:25class and business class tables they
17:27fold out in panels and this one is one
17:30giant slab of probably fake wood but
17:33nonetheless giant slab and I think
17:36that's really cool that it centers on
17:37the chair as opposed to being off to one
17:40side okay let's dig
17:43in so it's not as quite as crispy as
17:46some other chicken saes I've had but I'm
17:49going to give them some slack cuz we are
17:5140,000 ft in the air and this was
17:54probably made yesterday glass of
17:57champagne or glass of wine um maybe some
18:00wine yeah I'll leave it up to you what
18:03you
18:04suggest next up caviar I mean could we
18:07get any more
18:08fancy
18:13cheers then I got some scallops for an
18:17appetizer soing scallops with uh carrot
18:21cream Rini reddish and cars oh you're
18:24killing me I love
18:25scallops the question is what utens
18:28tools do I use for this can you tell I'm
18:31excited the scallops were divine next up
18:34the beef cheek but first some more wine
18:38which one do you recommend I would
18:39recommend to start off go for the Albert
18:41Bishop cuz it's a grape of 100% Pon
18:45One ooh it's so
18:47tender wow that is some super tender
18:50meat like melt in your mouth kind of
18:53tender that is so impressive like we're
18:57literally eating this on an airplane
18:59and because somehow there was still more
19:01food to come dessert oh and you thought
19:04I was done eating and these are the
19:07accompaniments to go with the cheeses
19:09The Grapes the pig past as well as the
19:12wuts and the water crackers you have
19:14high expectations for how much food I
19:15can eat it's reported that food for
19:18first class can be 20 times more
19:20expensive than economy so is the Hefty
19:22price tag for food amenities and
19:24building out this fancy Suite worth it
19:26to the airline Singapore says
19:28unequivocally yes and across the
19:30industry Airlines tend to see higher
19:32yields the more premium the cabin after
19:35my first meal it was time to change into
19:37my pajamas that is
19:39big I love an oversized
19:42sleeper then I checked out the bigger of
19:44the two first class bathrooms probably
19:47one of the most expensive bathrooms in
19:49the world and the largest airplane
19:51bathroom I've ever seen come on
19:55in I mean literally this is like
19:59bigger than my first apartment in New
20:01York this bathroom alone one thing I was
20:04curious about was why Singapore Airlines
20:06hadn't invested in a shower like
20:08Emirates in its first class bathroom and
20:10the answer wait all the shower water
20:13weighs a lot which would require the
20:16airplane to carry more fuel so instead
20:19this bathroom has three stations the
20:21toilet section the vanity and then the
20:24hand washing section but this room also
20:27comes with a ton of amend
20:29these it's very
20:32aggressive so you got some bathroom
20:35perfume facial
20:38mist and some body lotion and then you
20:41got another tiny little meity drawer
20:45here with the hairbrush and a comb a
20:49toothbrush and I do think that there is
20:51toothpaste already in
20:53here um shaving cream and a razor so you
20:58never have to touch the trash can you
21:00have this
21:01little flap here you can push down on to
21:03open the waistband and I've already laid
21:06out all of my nice amenities like the
21:08moisturizing kit and my pajamas so I'm
21:11going to get
21:13changed well if I didn't feel like an
21:16international assassin already now I got
21:18the fits match I stowed my stuff and
21:21grabbed some of the sleeping amenities
21:23provided in the closet like these little
21:26socks some slippers
21:30like high-end spa and I think this is an
21:33eye
21:36cover oh my God it's like velvet then it
21:40was time for the thing I was most
21:41excited about the bed but unlike in
21:44business class your bed is not your seat
21:47there's an entire separate panel that
21:49flips down from the wall into a twin
21:54mattress and if you buy two suets you
21:56can lower the divider push the two beds
21:58together and enjoy a double bed in the
22:00sky while the mattress was obviously
22:02thinner than a hotel one it somehow was
22:05still comfy and the fact that I could
22:07lie completely flat as a 5'9 human felt
22:10surreal plus after days of traveling at
22:12this point the fluffy pillows and sheets
22:14felt luxurious because I got to bed so
22:17late I only had a little over 1 hour to
22:19sleep before the flight attendant woke
22:21me up for the next meal we have to
22:23breakfast now so tired
22:30oh even luxury doesn't offer enough
22:34sleep back to the fancy bathroom I went
22:36to get changed into my first set of real
22:38pants in like 2
22:39days then I was getting a little lonely
22:42so I went to make some friends so there
22:44are six first class suets on this flight
22:47and we've got some pretty awesome
22:49neighbors how's it going hey Jimmy you
22:52have fun in the suite yeah it was great
22:54although I slept the whole time was it
22:56great or
23:00no YouTuber Mr Beast and his crew
23:03happened to be on our flight hey

23:14flight it was great I slept most of it
23:16which was my favorite part me and my
23:17friend Nolan we we just pulled out they
23:19were like clean siiz beds but then we
23:21all ended up using like half of it cuz
23:23we just puddled the whole time you
23:25puddled a the Bromance is strong
23:29um okay so I heard that you guys have
23:30been traveling in a bunch of different
23:32first class suits how does this one
23:33compare this is easily the best one this
23:36is ridiculous the food was amazing the
23:39size was awesome there's like 15 TVs
23:41right here and I just get to be for the
23:43ride I didn't even pay for this isn't
23:45that

23:59just open the barriers and you have no
24:00idea what's on the other
24:02side finally it was time for our last
24:04meal service this one wasn't quite as
24:06extensive a simple shrimp and race soup
24:09because I still was feeling really full
24:11the flight attendant put the bed back up
24:13and set my chair and takeoff position
24:14and before I knew it we were landing in
24:16JFK thank you for flying Singapore
24:19Airlines a member of Star
24:21Alliance so after 40 hours in the sky
24:25with Singapore Airlines was it worth the
24:27hype actually yeah the service and the
24:30food were the biggest standouts even in
24:32premium economy it's not easy making
24:34food taste good from Tiny reheat in
24:36kitchens at 30,000 ft but the flight
24:39attendants were truly my favorite part
24:41no matter the cabin they made the
24:43experience feel classy shout out to Ruby
24:47they were sweet attentive and Brilliant
24:49we are Bing we speak English and
24:54Malay then uh depending on where your
24:57ethnic group is do that in
25:00Chinese which leads us to the big
25:03question were the cabins worth the dough
25:06look of course first class was unmatched
25:08but to be honest my favorite of the
25:09three flights was business class I get
25:12that a huge point of first class is
25:13privacy but I'm personally way too
25:16extroverted to be in a box alone for 9
25:18hours that's why I had to make some
25:20friends so for me business class was
25:22where it was at it had the best of both
25:24worlds enough space to stretch out while
25:26I still feeling fancy All In all it felt
25:28like the most bang for your buck and I'm
25:30not alone in thinking that more and more
25:33us-based carriers like American Airlines
25:35are pulling first class cabins in favor
25:37investing in more luxurious business
25:38classes so I say if you have the means
25:41first class is a fun once in A- lifetime
25:43experience and if you're from the US and
25:45you want to try it I suggest booking it
25:48quickly in May 2023 Singapore Airlines
25:50is set to pull its a380s with these
25:52first class Suites from the US market
25:55the airline is moving these planes to
25:57the Australian Market to address the
25:59postco demand surge there but don't
26:01worry us-based Travelers can still fly
26:03the smaller Singapore Airlines first
26:05class seats on the triple SS so if you
26:08have to do a super long haul flight
26:09business class would be your best bet
26:11but even if you land in premium economy
26:13you won't be
26:17disappointed what's the best joke that
26:19you told this whole
26:21flight I said this takes layovers to the
