0:16well i'm so glad to be in the house of

0:19it's a great joy to be here this morning
0:22and i welcome all the people watching

0:25online god bless you it's church in your
0:28very homes this morning is good because
0:31the lord is in our midst
0:33so glad to be here once again to be
0:35worshipping the lord as one big family
0:38and as i was seeking the lord
0:40the lord laid upon my heart a timely
0:42word for us and let me make an honest
0:44confession this morning
0:46one of the important message that god
0:48could ever use me to bring to us is the
0:51one that i'm about to preach
0:53and it's on his confession
0:55it's a very important word that i'm
0:56about to share and
0:58it with much burden i'm bringing this
1:00word to us so i want us all to sit with
1:03an expectant heart and receive god's
1:06word as as we hear his word
1:09but before we do that let's not just be
1:11one more sermon
1:14in all that we take notes
1:15but let it be a god moment and encounter
1:18with the truth of god
1:20now i've titled today's sermon as
1:23what matters most in life
1:26what
1:27matters most in life
1:31starting with a very interesting topic
1:33hunger
1:35talking about hunger
1:37people of god is hunger good or bad
1:39what's your response
1:42good
1:43definitely
1:44does anyone get upset if you get hungry
1:47morning i had my breakfast it's noon
1:49time why am i getting hungry
1:51i believe no one gets upset
1:54yes but what happens if you don't feel
1:57hungry
2:00what would you say
2:01what happens if you don't feel hungry
2:02for a long period of time
2:05i would say
2:06not feeling hungry for a long period of
2:08time will eventually lead to death

2:13what makes you say that you may ask me a
2:15question this morning
2:18when you don't eat for a long period of
2:19time you starve yourself and you are
2:22malnourished
2:24and you can easily fall prey to sickness
2:26and disease
2:28eventually you get weaker and ultimately
2:30you die
2:31so in conclusion no hunger equals death
2:37so talking about hunger
2:39let me give us an illustration this
2:41morning
2:42a child who's very hungry comes to his
2:46mom and says mom i'm hungry
2:49as a good mother always does son would
2:52you like to eat a sandwich the son says
2:54no
2:55okay you like to have some gravy and
2:56rice he says no some fruit no no no and
3:00he goes on
3:02then the mom says to him well you say
3:04you are hungry son but what would you
3:06like to eat
3:08the son cheapestly smiling says junk
3:11food
3:12how many mothers will agree to this you
3:14go through these experiences the child
3:16is hungry but not for healthy food but
3:18for the junk food
3:20similarly we human beings feel hungry
3:23too and i'm not just talking about
3:25physical hunger i'm talking about
3:27spiritual hunger too
3:29but we are all not hungry for god and
3:32the things of god
3:33no
3:34we humans feel hungry but the question
3:37is are we hungry for god
3:41listen to this what i'm about to say
3:44the day we begin to be hungry for god
3:46and the things of god our life will
3:48change and our changed life will be seen
3:51and demonstrated
3:53the day we begin to be hungry for god
3:56and the things of god the change will be
3:58visible people you know fire doesn't
4:01need advertisement
4:03no
4:04fire speaks for itself so hunger of god
4:07will speak for itself
4:10has god become a need in your life
4:14has got become a need in our life
4:16we need oxygen to breathe and live we
4:18need water for sustenance likewise god
4:21has to become a need for our life to
4:24change
4:25and no one that the psalmist cries out
4:27in psalms 42 verse 1 and 2.
4:30what does the psalmist say very famous
4:32psalm we sing this aram also the
4:35psalmist says as the deer pants for the
4:37water brooks so pants my soul for your
4:41god my soul thirsts for god for the
4:44living god when shall i come and appear
4:47before god
4:49have any one of you seen how does a deer
4:51pan for the water
4:53if no please find time to see how does a
4:57deer actually pan for the water
5:01yes you know the deer begins to grunt
5:04and the grunting only gets louder and
5:07louder as the deer begins to look for
5:10the water
5:12for its very life and sustenance it
5:14depends upon the water for for it to
5:17quench its thirst
5:19and that's why the
5:20the psalmist speaks about the
5:22deer my question to us and all this
5:25morning is
5:26how desperate are we for god
5:30how desperate are we yes what sacrifice
5:34have you been making to get to that
5:36place of intimacy with god
5:39because david says i will offer unto my
5:41god nothing that cost me nothing
5:46so is my christian life costing me
5:51because we are hard pressed for time
5:52today people
5:54listen listen listen we then open up
5:56this morning and let this word of god
5:57minister to us we are we are hard
5:59pressed for time today our jobs our
6:02careers our hobbies even lust for
6:04pleasures as consumed all the time and
6:07we don't have any time left for god even
6:10for ourselves and the family
6:14today one of the rarest commodities is
6:16to make time for god and even to those
6:19people who are in need
6:21that's a rarest commodity
6:27thank you
6:30because giving your time
6:32is giving a part of your life
6:35giving your time is giving a part of
6:38your life
6:40if i come to you people and i give you
6:42my time
6:44it's not that because i was free and i
6:46had nothing to do so i gave my time to
6:48you
6:49i could have spent that time with my
6:51kids and my wife and my family
6:53or i could have taken time to just relax
6:55and spend it on myself
6:57but i chose to give you time
7:00so then do you value that
7:02and respect it
7:05sorry to say we don't
7:08we have learned to take things for
7:09granted
7:11we feel is the duty of the people
7:13they do it
7:14they need to do it
7:18what are you most hungry in life for
7:22because we all know what you're supposed
7:24to want
7:25a closer relationship with christ
7:27great marriages godly children salvation
7:30to the lost
7:32and the world peace
7:34but my question to us this morning is
7:37what does our lives
7:39actually revolve around
7:44what does

7:48actually revolve around
7:52know these people if you're hungry for
7:54something
7:55if you're really hungry for something
7:57your life will show it in multiple ways
8:01if you're really hungry for something

8:07in fact jesus our lord and savior said
8:10living the way god made us all to live
8:14when the what the bible talks about
8:16righteousness is the only way our hunger
8:20will be fulfilled
8:22jesus said in one of the famous sermon
8:24on the mount which is recorded in
8:27matthew chapter 5 6
8:29these are the words of jesus christ
8:31jesus said blessed are those who hunger
8:35and thirst for righteousness for they
8:38shall be filled
8:40you know a hunger should be for
8:42following jesus and doing what he says
8:45because god promises
8:47that we shall be blessed when we know
8:50him
8:51blessed are you if you know him
8:55so then
8:57here is a brief self diagnosis to help
9:00us discover what's important to us
9:04ask yourself these four questions which
9:06i'm about to unfold if you are taking
9:09down notes which you should do take it
9:11down
9:12ask yourself these four questions as to
9:15what's truly
9:16important to you
9:19these four questions will help us know
9:22and understand what is important to us
9:25and what matters most to us
9:28some people are living in denial
9:31but i believe these four questions will
9:33help us understand this morning what's
9:35important to us and what matters most to
9:38us
9:39are you ready people
9:41the first question that you and i need
9:43to ask
9:44what do you spend your money on
9:48what do you spend your money on
9:51listen to this
9:53what you put your money towards
9:55your heart will follow
9:57i really shudder to understand who gave
10:00the wisdom to a tailor to stitch a
10:02pocket close to the heart
10:06you see
10:09what you give your money towards your
10:11heart will follow
10:13no wonder jesus said in matthew 6 21
10:16these are the words of jesus christ he
10:18says for where your treasure is
10:20there your heart will be also
10:24where your treasure is so will your
10:26heart be
10:27so our question this morning is what is
10:29treasure to you
10:31what do you consider as precious people
10:34because what you consider pressures you
10:37will value that and you will follow
10:39after it passionately
10:42what is precious to you you will value
10:45it and you will follow after it
10:47passionately
10:49so then my beloved people
10:51is god first in our life
10:54and if indeed god is first
10:56then how do you and i we prove it
11:00you know what does one of the things
11:01that i've understood is
11:03love demands loyalty
11:06love demands loyalty because the word
11:10love is used in a very casual way you
11:13love your coffee you love your snacks
11:16you love god is there any better word
11:18for you
11:21sometimes if you need some work from
11:23your spouse you say i love you a wife
11:26understands tell me what you want me to
11:27do
11:29the word love is used very casually
11:32my question is love demands loyalty
11:36how do you show that god is first in
11:38your life how do you show that god is
11:40first and you love god simple it is
11:42revealed by our choices and our
11:44priorities in life your choice is
11:47revealed you know past machine has been
11:49teaching us the dignity of choice
11:51yes a wonderful series went through we
11:54all have the dignity of choice our
11:56choices reveal whether god is first in
11:59our lives as humans we make time for
12:03what we want to make time
12:06we make time for what we want to make
12:08time so please we can't hide behind the
12:11excuse of business
12:14no one can take shelter
12:16behind business because you can make
12:18time for what you want to make time
12:21you know many christians desire a lot oh
12:24how i desire i wish to come for that
12:26meeting or come for that community
12:28service or come for that prayer meeting
12:30you know too long we have been a
12:32desiring christians it's time to be a
12:34doing christian
12:36i want to tell us people
12:38there are many lot of people who are
12:40just waiting and doing nothing just
12:42desiring for god i want to tell us these
12:45very people are run over by people who
12:48actually do the will of god
12:52who just wait and do nothing are run
12:54over by people who do the will of god
12:58i want to take us to a very important
13:00passage in the old testament
13:02i don't know many may not know this or
13:04many might have just glanced through
13:06this but as i was preparing this topic
13:08the lord brought me to this particular
13:10passage it broke my heart to read it
13:13how
13:14how it is applicable to us in today's
13:16time also
13:17bible is very much relevant people so
13:20turn with me to hagai chapter one verses
13:22three to nine
13:25chapter one verse three to nine let me
13:26read then the word of the lord came by
13:29hagai the prophet saying is it time for
13:32you yourself to dwell in your paneled
13:35houses and this temple to lie in runes
13:39now therefore thus is the lord of hosts
13:42consider your ways you have so much and
13:46bring in little you eat but you don't
13:48have enough you drink but you're not
13:51filled with drink you clothe yourself
13:54but no one is warm he who earns wages
13:58earns wages to put in a bag with holes
14:02so thus says the lord of hosts
14:05consider your ways
14:07consider your ways
14:09go up to the mountains and bring wood
14:11and build the temple that i may take
14:13pleasure in it and be glorified says the
14:16lord
14:17you looked for much but indeed it came
14:20too little
14:21listen to this when you brought it home
14:24i blew it away god says i blew it away
14:28why says the lord of hosts because of my
14:31house that is in runes while every one
14:34of you runs to his own house
14:38my house is in ruins god says and
14:41everyone runs to his own house
14:45now what is what we see here in hagai
14:48you know what we see in this passage
14:50that people were obsessed only about
14:52their life
14:53their houses materials things and
14:56comfort it was only about their jobs
14:59their materials that comfort
15:02their houses
15:04it i'm talking about time of hagai
15:07what do you say about today's time is it
15:09any different today people
15:13i want you to answer that question
15:17while the house of god was in runes
15:21and nobody ever bothered to look at it
15:23or even consider
15:25they were busy
15:27making their lives because that's what
15:29mattered to them the most
15:34here in this passage it is talking about
15:36the physical house of god
15:38but in today's time how is the scripture
15:41applicable to us the house of god is
15:43nothing but the temple of god and that
15:45by the temple of god i mean is the
15:47people of god so the people of god the
15:50living temple of the living god
15:52so are we really concerned about the
15:54people of god
15:57people who are lost in sin were on their
15:59way to destruction
16:01does it break your heart people to see
16:03them go into an endless eternity without
16:05christ does this burden you
16:10does this burden you people
16:13or it doesn't matter because everything
16:15is well with you my house is okay my job
16:17is okay finances is coming everything is
16:19fine i want to give a testimony and
16:21you're happy with your own house but my
16:23question is the house of the lord is in
16:26rooms
16:27is talking about people
16:30that's what god took ezekiel to the
16:32value of the dry bones it was people
16:35it was people
16:38so how can i marry only all the good
16:40that is happening in my life and not
16:42bother about the concern of god
16:45so let me ask us a question which the
16:47lord asked early in the book of genesis
16:50are you your brother's keeper
16:53am i my brother's keeper i want you to
16:55ask yourself this question look into the
16:58mirror and say am i my brother's keeper
17:01if you're a child of god if you say you
17:03love god then you are your brother's
17:05keeper
17:10we see in the gospel jesus cleansing the
17:13temple
17:15what made jesus do that john 2 17 says
17:20then his disciples remember it was
17:22written zeal for your house has eaten me
17:26up
17:27you know people we are all building a
17:29thing called
17:31we building it
17:33if you are financially involved in
17:35something you are emotionally and
17:38mentally involved in it too
17:41please people watch your checkbook
17:45watch your checkbook to see what have
17:47you made important enough to spend a lot
17:50of money on
17:51for a kingdom person will be obsessed
17:54about the kingdom of god
17:56you know paul writes in colossians
17:58chapter 3 verse 1 to 3. you know what is
18:00paul saying that it says if
18:03the word if is actually not speaking
18:05about doubt
18:06it is
18:07it is its meaning the sins so let me
18:10read it this way it says since then you
18:12were raised with christ seek those
18:14things which are about when christ is
18:17sitting at the right hand of god
18:19set your mind on things about and not on
18:22the things of the earth for you died and
18:24your life is hidden with christ in god
18:30i will
18:30keep on speaking untiringly and asking
18:34are we kingdom people
18:36if s then our life and our choice must
18:40reflect it
18:42the second question that you and i need
18:44to ask us to know what is important to
18:46us and what matters to us the most
18:49is
18:50how do you spend your time
18:53how do you spend your time
18:55the things we spend time doing
18:58point to what we care about
19:00the things you spend time doing reveals
19:03what you care for
19:06you know time is more valuable than
19:07money because you can never get back or
19:10earn back the time spent
19:13time is precious
19:14and if all of a time is just consumed in
19:17the pursuit of gaining a possession or a
19:19selfish goal then our time won't be used
19:23wisely as god intends
19:25no wonder the psalmist says in psalms 90
19:28verse 12
19:29this is the earnest cry of the psalmist
19:31and what does the psalmist cry out it
19:34says so teach us to number our days that
19:37we may gain a heart of wisdom
19:42teach me lord
19:43to number my days
19:45in fact paul writes in ephesians chapter
19:485 verse 15 and 16 and paul gives us a
19:51word of caution
19:53and what is he telling he says say
19:56that you walk circumspectly not as fools
19:59but as wise redeeming the time because
20:02the days are evil
20:06the truth is
20:07we show our love by giving our time and
20:11even going an extra mile
20:13uh extra mile and showing people that
20:15you love and care
20:16you know we show our love to god in
20:18giving time and making ourselves
20:21available even to those who stand in
20:23need
20:24example the good samaritan
20:28you know love is demonstrated by our
20:30actions and intentional works
20:33yes the world talks about success have
20:36you heard that
20:37the world talks about success but we the
20:39people of god don't just talk success
20:42but we talk about significance
20:44you know why because we are called to
20:46live a life of significance so what's
20:48the difference between success and
20:49significance you may ask me a question
20:51thank you for asking
20:54the difference is
20:55success is when i add value to myself
20:59success is when i add value to myself
21:01but significance is when i add value to
21:04others
21:07a lot of people believe they are
21:09successful you know what makes them
21:11think they believe they are successful
21:13because they have everything they want
21:16and they have added value to themselves
21:19but i believe
21:20significance comes when you add value to
21:23others and you can't have true success
21:27without significance
21:31we are called to live a life of
21:33significance what do i mean by that
21:35touching lives one soul at a time
21:39we are called to be contributors not
21:42consumers in the kingdom of god
21:45jesus said in matthew 25 verse 40
21:48and the king will answer and say to them
21:51assuredly i say to you in as much as you
21:54did it to one of the least of these my
21:56brethren you did it to me
22:01what i'm about to say is life changing
22:02people if no one told you you can't
22:06plead ignorance because i'm about to
22:07tell you
22:10if you really love god
22:12if you really love god then you'll do
22:14something for people who are in need
22:18if you really love god then you will do
22:21something for people who are in need and
22:23if you claim to know god then you will
22:26love people
22:27if you claim that you know god you will
22:29love people and when you love people you
22:32do something about people's condition
22:35how can a christian not reach out and
22:38help his brother in
22:40that's not the nature of christ that's
22:43not born of christ if you can't reach
22:45out people it's time to move out and do
22:48something love is in action love came
22:51down
22:54and that's how you prove you love god or
22:57else you're just a professing question
23:01the third question that you and i need
23:02to ask as to what matters to us
23:06interesting point
23:08what do you pray for
23:10and worry about
23:12it is oxymoron
23:14what do you pray for and worry about you

23:23and someone said happily married
23:27i don't agree to that because i'm
23:28teaching on family
23:32what do you pray for and worry about
23:36you know our fears listen listen our
23:38fears are a good indicator of what we
23:41are most concerned about
23:43isn't it people
23:45your fear shows your concern
23:48and the thoughts we entertain
23:50becomes the action we take
23:52it's a good place to say in amen
23:55the thoughts we entertain becomes the
23:57action we take and we cannot we cannot
24:01expect to live a fully obedient life to
24:03jesus if our thought doesn't line up
24:06with his thoughts

25:24because you do not ask you you ask and
25:27you do not receive because you are
25:28asking amazed that you may spend it on
25:30your pleasure
25:32asking is a form of prayer do you agree
25:35yes
25:36certainly prayer is a good thing people
25:38god wants us to pray
25:40but when we are only praying for our
25:43well-being and blessings rather than
25:45confessing our things and getting in
25:47line with god we are not doing right
25:50are you then praying for the church for
25:52the loss to be saved sinners to come
25:55back to god we should step back to
25:57consider if you really hunger for god
26:00and we are concerned with what is the
26:02lord concerned with
26:04you know people we need to know the
26:06right way of praying
26:08when when asked by the disciples how to
26:11pray jesus said in this manner pray luke
26:14chapter 11 2-4
26:16so he said to them when you pray say our
26:18father in heaven hallowed be thy name
26:21your kingdom come your will be done
26:23honored as it is in heaven give us today
26:26our daily bread and forgive us our sins
26:29as we forgive everyone who is indebted
26:31to us and lead us not into temptation
26:33but deliver us from evil one this is the
26:36moral prayer this is a pattern of prayer
26:38jesus taught us as a guidance to how to
26:40pray how does jesus begin this prayer it
26:43begins with prayer adoration worship and
26:46thanksgiving and praise that's how jesus
26:48taught us to begin and how do we begin
26:51our prayers physical needs financial
26:53needs and only problem to solve
26:58and we say
27:00god you don't know what i am going

27:05have you heard people saying this god
27:07you really don't know what i'm going
27:08through really
27:11it's a dangerous statement to say if god
27:13doesn't know who knows
27:15is the all-knowing god
27:18people it's time to learn to pray

27:22prayer most of our prayers are selfish
27:24and need-based
27:26when will we learn to pray the prayer
27:27that honors god
27:29jesus taught us to pray
27:32coming to the last question the fourth
27:34question that you and i need to ask
27:36as to what matters to us
27:39what do you talk
27:41about the most
27:43what do you talk about the most
27:45in our conversation if our conversations
27:47are filled with gossips and endless
27:50negativity or desiring someone or
27:53something we should reconsider where our
27:56attention lies
27:58if you're taking down notes what i'm
27:59about to say please write it down and
28:01you should never forget this it's
28:03something very important
28:05are you ready
28:06for whatever fills our hearts and
28:09thoughts will fill our speech

28:19attitude inside of us
28:21the things we say reveal the attitude in
28:24the inside of us jesus said in matthew
28:2615 18 but those things which proceed out
28:29of the mouth comes from the heart and
28:32they defile a man
28:34you know there are people who try to
28:35persuade and convince people no no no no
28:37don't feel bad you know don't mind what
28:39he says his heart is good
28:42have you heard this anytime people
28:43telling don't mind i only heart is good
28:49heart is good
28:51again write down i'm giving you more

28:54profound truth you know i love the
28:56wisdom of this thought
28:59it's my careless words that reveal my

29:44but if the same person says your heart
29:46is not good your heart is bad you cannot
29:49take it everything in you will scream

29:53because we are an extension of our heart
29:56the centrality of our lives flows from
29:59our heart
30:00jesus said in matthew chapter 12 verse
30:0233 to 37 i don't have the time to read
30:05it he said that either make the tree
30:08good and the fruit good or else make the
30:10tree bad and the fruit bad
30:12and every idle word
30:15people may speak they'll have to give an
30:16account please go home and read the
30:18scriptures
30:20by this we understand that our words
30:22reveal our heart and our character
30:25you know when our foot stumbles
30:27it's okay you can still recover
30:30when your foot stumbles it's okay you
30:31can recover but when a tongue stumbles
30:34it definitely brings disaster
30:37that is definitely disaster
30:40so what matters most to you
30:42what is life all about you know people
30:44this pandemic has revealed our
30:46vulnerability
30:48our faith has been challenged what is
30:50treasure to us is revealed what our
30:52heart mind and soul are consumed with is
30:54manifested sorry today god has today
30:57become just a means to get the things
30:59done he's just become a problem solver
31:01for us
31:03so is god the lover of your soul

31:08galatians chapter 2 verse 20 paul writes
31:11i have been crucified with christ it's
31:13no longer i will live but christ lives
31:16in me and the life which i never live in
31:18the flesh i live by faith in the son of
31:20god who loved me and gave himself for me
31:23you know what stands out for me in this
31:25christ lives in me
31:27by this we understand god is in us
31:30you agree or disagree
31:32you everybody agrees but i want you to
31:34know what do you do with the next
31:35statement about to say god is in us but
31:38is that god who's in us living in us
31:41do we allow that god to live and
31:42manifest himself

31:49no wonder john the baptist said i must
31:52decrease so that he can increase

32:07they met and fell in love while working

32:12they were young talented motivated and
32:16they shared the common goal of
32:18succeeding in business and earning much
32:21money and living their dream
32:24by a decade later they were pulling in
32:27youth salaries from a major league
32:29financial corporation
32:31they each put in 60 to 80 hours each
32:34each week
32:36but the money was great
32:38big house in a posh locality
32:41four cars in a four cars a cabin in the
32:44mountain and a boat they had it all one
32:47could say
32:48biological clock ticks for the wealthy
32:51and the talented so as they approached
32:5340
32:54they chose to have a child a beautiful
32:57son named jonathan
32:59now you could say they really had it all
33:02except jonathan you know pretty much
33:05stayed in the daycare all day and a
33:08nanny took care of him in the evenings
33:11tim and susie rarely spent time with one
33:13another
33:14and none of them had time for friends of
33:17a community affairs or church or
33:19anything
33:21is this all there is to life they found
33:24themselves asking as jonathan neared his
33:27first birthday
33:29do we really want to put in endless
33:31hours at work in order to make more
33:34money and buy more stuff
33:36eventually tim and susie realized that
33:39climbing the corporate ladder of success
33:42making boat load of money and buying
33:45lots of stuff was not a big enough life
33:48they ended up bored on the same day
33:51resigning their jobs
33:53one of them took a more normal full-time
33:55job one that required only 40 hours a
33:58week managing a small business and
34:01making only half as much before
34:05the other went into consulting work only
34:07doing two days a week and pulling in
34:10only 20 percent of what they had before
34:13they sold a huge house moved into a much
34:16more moderate place in a much more
34:18modest neighborhood
34:20gone was the boat and the two of the
34:22four cars even the getaway cabin in the
34:24mountain
34:26life was obviously far different
34:28more to the point they now had time for
34:31one another for jonathan for friends and
34:34community
34:35they even went back to church
34:38although they earned substantially less
34:41income their life was far richer
34:45tim and susie discovered something
34:47important about what matters in life
34:50you could say and what matters the most
34:52they wrestle with that question of what
34:55is the main thing
34:56the main thing for them was
34:58and for the for for their life they
35:00found out what matters most is the
35:02relationship with god and with other
35:05people
35:06people of god let me uh interrupt here
35:09as i continue the story
35:11the truth is each one of us are created
35:13for relationship
35:16when when when when jesus was asked
35:18about the greatest commandment he said
35:20love the lord your god with all your
35:22heart with all your mind and strength
35:23and soul and love your neighbor as
35:25yourself
35:26you know an old english monk known as
35:29the
35:30mr beat he said it this way
35:33he says neither of this is capable of
35:35being perfect without one another
35:38because god cannot be loved apart from
35:40your neighbor nor your neighbor apart
35:43from god
35:44the core of the commandment is
35:46relationship with god and one another
35:49and that is what jesus was actually
35:52describing
35:53now if you remember our couple tim and
35:55susie let's get get back to the story
35:57the one who left the high-powered jobs
35:59the trapping of the so-called good life
36:01after the son jonathan was born
36:04as it happens a number of years later
36:07when jonathan got up to the second grade
36:09his teacher at one point asked each
36:12student to write a brief essay and draw
36:14a picture depicting their version of a
36:17perfect life
36:19as the assignments were graded jonathan
36:21brought it home along with some other
36:23worksheets from school which he left
36:25sitting on the kitchen table
36:27later that night as soon as he sat down
36:29at the table and glanced through the
36:31papers she began to cry not out of
36:33sadness but of joy
36:36interesting listen to this this is the
36:37most important part jonathan's drawing
36:40you see had three sections
36:42a picture of his family's modest house
36:45with himself his parents and their dog
36:48labeled home
36:50a checkered boat with faces in each
36:52square labeled my friends
36:55and a building with the steeple labeled
36:57my church
36:59and the brief essay went like this
37:01listen listen this is important this is
37:03a young child writing okay
37:05a perfect life for me is the life that i
37:08am right now in
37:11look at the wisdom of this little boy
37:13the perfect life for me is the life that
37:15i'm right now in i have a lot of friends
37:17i have a good family too and a good
37:20church he says i don't need a perfect
37:22life
37:23the child says i don't need a perfect
37:26life i already have a perfect life
37:30in the conclusion as i come to a close i
37:33would like to say
37:35you can only be truly joyful and live a
37:38purposeful and meaningful life when you
37:40understand what matters the most
37:42because until you are driven by what
37:45matters the most you will never find
37:47your destiny let me say again until you
37:49are driven by what matters most you will
37:52never find your destiny in one of the
37:54most important thing that i've learned
37:56in my christian walk and journey listen
37:58to this important truth this is what i
38:00have learned
38:01until
38:03until a soul grows to the point where he
38:05desires to bring others into the house
38:07of god that soul has not been completely
38:10won

38:22so i urge us all this morning
38:24life is a gift from god
38:25live for his glory kingdom people we all
38:28need to answer this question on a daily
38:30basis
38:31what matters to you us and all let's all
38:34stand up people let's all look to the
38:36lord this is our time i want everybody
38:38we are up almost done with our time but
38:41i just want to
38:43close in prayer this morning
38:45all people who are listening via

38:53father i want to thank you
38:55we are eternally grateful to you god
38:58for teaching us this morning as to
39:00what matters to us what should matter to
39:03us
39:04we look to the book of haggai
39:06how your heart was pain because
39:08people were busy in their life and the
39:10house of god was left to ruins but today
39:13lord thank you for stirring up our heart
39:15today we make a resolute decision to
39:18come back to you we are coming back to
39:20you god in strength might and in
39:22commitment god help us to keep you first
39:24by our choice father that as for me and
39:27my house we will serve you god we will
39:29serve your purpose and this morning is
39:31the morning of dedication
39:33dedication father i pray all those who
39:35have heard this word lord stirred up our
39:37hearts to action we don't want a
39:39reaction this morning but we want a
39:41response and the response is we will
39:44lord
39:45so thank you father
39:46we give you glory
39:48we give you honor
39:50we bless you may the grace of the lord
39:52jesus christ the love of the father the
39:54sweet fellowship of the holy spirit
39:56radically impact us to be good choice
39:59makers who will have dignity in making
40:02choice for the honor of god
40:04in jesus name we pray
40:07amen
40:08come on people put your hands together
40:09give a big big god bless you
40:13god loves you
40:14he has good plans for you
40:16and i tell you it's never too late to
40:19begin to do what you know it's right and
40:21this is the day of salvation let's all
40:24live up as
40:25as a jesus generation people honoring
40:28god in all that your blessings thank you
