  8. 0:19combination psychology is the scientific
  9. 0:22study of mind and behavior
  10. 0:26o'donnell and levin define educational
  11. 0:28psychology as the development and
  12. 0:31application of psychological principles
  13. 0:33to education as well as the adoption of
  14. 0:36psychological perspectives on education
  15. 0:39in simple words educational psychology
  16. 0:42is the study of how people learn
  17. 0:44the world's changing faster than ever
  18. 0:47today's educational system is highly
  19. 0:49complex there is no single learning
  20. 0:51approach that works for everyone
  21. 0:55there are many factors contributes to

  36. 1:30over the 100 years the focus of
  37. 1:32textbooks in educational psychology had
  38. 1:35undergone some significant changes today
  39. 1:38educational psychology textbooks often
  40. 1:41discuss about topics namely learning
  41. 1:44development differences among learners
  42. 1:47different teaching methods motivational
  43. 1:49theories and how to assess students

  53. 2:09understand good understanding towards
  54. 2:11knowledge of content is essential second
  55. 2:14teachers must posses pedagogical content
  56. 2:17knowledge an understanding of how to
  57. 2:19represent the topics in ways that make
  58. 2:22the content understandable to students
  59. 2:25knowledge of learners and learning is
  60. 2:27the third type of professional knowledge
  61. 2:30it is arguably the most important
  62. 2:32knowledge a teacher can have teachers
  63. 2:34need to know how children develop
  64. 2:35cognitively socially and physically in
  65. 2:38order to make decision on what are the
  66. 2:40appropriate content to teach teachers
  67. 2:43also have to aware how students learn
  68. 2:46and how their individual differences can
  69. 2:48have impact on their learning
  70. 2:50lastly teachers are also expected to
  71. 2:52have the general pedagogical knowledge
  72. 2:55which involves an understanding of
  73. 2:57instructional strategies and classroom
  74. 2:59management that apply to all subject
  75. 3:02matter areas and topics
  76. 3:05educational psychology provides insights
  77. 3:08into how we all learn and develop if you
  78. 3:10know how to apply what you learn from
  79. 3:12educational psychology in your classroom
  80. 3:15it can make important contribution to
  81. 3:18your teaching
