- 0:15workshops I get hired for workshops I do
- 0:18acting I cast for acting someone might
- 0:21hide my mocap system so I've got
- 0:23different streams of income where I
- 0:25might not be working all the time but I
- 0:27have the different ones that might come
- 0:28in this week this one might come in this
- 0:30week but I'm always active on it the
- 0:32first half of the year working in TV
- 0:34you're working in longer days so it's
- 0:36lighter it's daylight and it frees me up
- 0:39for the winter months where I can be
- 0:41working in theater where you've got
- 0:44pantomime season you've got Christmas
- 0:45shows so it can be busy then I'd say
- 0:47there's a clear benefit in working in
- 0:50illustration and graphic design on the
- 0:51side it for one helps me afford pursuing
- 0:55animation there's also like a nice
- 0:56overlap of skills sort of like keeps me
- 0:59um well versed in softwares and design
- 1:01and sort of reminding me to work with
- 1:04people and like liaise with clients I
- 1:07think it puts me in a strong position
- 1:09where I can be considered for a wide
- 1:11range of projects you know rather than
- 1:12just someone that would be considered
- 1:14for a documentary it helps me to keep
- 1:16growing because every time I try a new
- 1:18genre I'm a novice you know so I have to
- 1:21start from scratch and I really enjoy
- 1:23that process I think it's actually super
- 1:25cool that I get asked to be a part of
- 1:28all sorts of different projects going
- 1:30from corporate to film and TV to live
- 1:34music immersive spaces there is actually
- 1:36quite a lot of demand where these skills
- 1:38tend to overlap so it actually gives me
- 1:41a lot of freedom both Financial but also
- 1:43Freedom of Choice one of the reasons for
- 1:46diversifying into the waste management
- 1:48and also the equal claims was being able
- 1:51to have more family time I didn't have
- 1:53to commit myself to you know six month
- 1:55contracts or these long jobs where I was
- 1:58working five days a week 14 15 hours a
- 2:01day as a location manager I'm never out
- 2:03of work in fact I turn down work I you
- 2:06know I love my job so I'm thrilled to be
- 2:08constantly busy but that's the main
- 2:10benefit is that when one part of it
- 2:12dries up and that's the industry it's
- 2:14ups and downs it's a roller coaster I
- 2:16can jump back into another sector you
- 2:18don't have to be one thing as a person
- 2:20you can enjoy multiple things for me
- 2:22I've just been lucky enough that they
- 2:23also happen to pay me
- 2:26[Music]
- 2:38thank you
