- 0:00what humans will look like in a thousand
- 0:02years humans are still evolving so where
- 0:05will Evolution take us in a thousand
- 0:07years chances are we'll be taller humans
- 0:10have already seen a boom in height over
- 0:12the last 130 years in 1880 the average
- 0:15American male was 5' 7 today he's
- 0:195'10 we may also merge with machines
- 0:22that can enhance our hearing eyesight
- 0:25health and much more right now there are
- 0:28hearing aids that let you record sounds
- 0:30generate white noise and even come with
- 0:32a built-in phone another example is a
- 0:36team out of the University of Oregon
- 0:38which is developing bionic eyes that
- 0:40help the blind to see but it's not
- 0:42impossible to imagine that the
- 0:44technology could become a tool for
- 0:45seeing what we currently consider
- 0:47invisible like different energies of
- 0:49light such as infrared and x-rays there
- 0:52will eventually be a day where
- 0:54Prosthetics are no longer just for the
- 0:56disabled however it's not just our
- 0:58outside appearance that will change our
- 1:01genes will also evolve on microscopic
- 1:03levels to Aid our survival for example
- 1:06an Oxford Le study discovered a group of
- 1:08HIV infected children in South Africa
- 1:11living healthy lives it turns out they
- 1:13have a built-in defense against HIV that
- 1:15prevents the virus from advancing to
- 1:17AIDS and with Gene editing tools like
- 1:20crisper we may eventually control our
- 1:22genes and DNA to the point where we make
- 1:24ourselves immune to disease and even
- 1:26reverse the effects of Aging another way
- 1:29to jump start the the human evolution on
- 1:31a different path is to move some of us
- 1:33to Mars Mars receives 66% less sunlight
- 1:37than Earth which can mean humans on Mars
- 1:39will evolve larger pupils that can
- 1:41absorb more light in order to see and
- 1:43since Mars's gravitational pool is only
- 1:4638% of Earth's people born on Mars might
- 1:49actually be taller than anyone on Earth
- 1:52in space the fluid that separates our
- 1:54vertebrae expands which led American
- 1:56aerospace engineer Robert Zubin to
- 1:58suggest that Mars's low gravity could
- 2:00allow the human spine to elongate enough
- 2:03to add a few extra inches to our height
- 2:06however not even a move to Mars could
- 2:08spark the biggest change in human
- 2:09evolution that we may have coming in the
- 2:12next Thousand Years immortality the path
- 2:15to immortality will likely require
- 2:17humans to download their Consciousness
- 2:18into a machine right now scientists in
- 2:21Italy and China are performing head
- 2:23transplants on animals to determine if
- 2:25you can transfer Consciousness from one
- 2:27body to another they claim their next
- 2:30big step is to transplant human heads
- 2:33whatever happens in the next Thousand
- 2:34Years whether we merge with machines or
- 2:36become them one thing is certain the
- 2:39human race is always changing and the
- 2:41faster we change and Branch off from
- 2:43Earth the better chance we have of
- 2:45outrunning Extinction
