- 0:00let's talk about the best meal that you
- 0:04could eat to help reduce plaquing in
- 0:08your arteries or even help prevent
- 0:11cardiovascular disease now I've done a
- 0:13lot of videos on what to avoid to
- 0:15prevent heart disease today I'm going to
- 0:18primarily focus on what to eat okay but
- 0:22we first have to give you a little
- 0:23background of what is going on behind
- 0:26the scenes as far as a cardiovascular
- 0:28disease and primarily we're going to
- 0:30talk about plaque now what is in plaque
- 0:33plaque is a combination of calcium
- 0:35protein and cholesterol many times the
- 0:38calcium is the result of biofilms so
- 0:42what's the biofilm it's a colony of
- 0:43microbes that these microbes have built
- 0:46these little calcium igloos or shells to
- 0:49protect themselves so they can go
- 0:50underneath the radar so when you see
- 0:52calcium plaque in the arteries
- 0:54underneath that plaquin there could be a
- 0:56microbial community and biofilms 10 to
- 1:00accumulate on roughened edges right if
- 1:04the arteries were nice and smooth and
- 1:06strong they probably would never
- 1:07accumulate on the arteries but the
- 1:09question is what causes them to get
- 1:11stuck on the inside of the artery wall
- 1:13and your coronary artery for example
- 1:14well that would be some type of um I
- 1:18call that lesion or oxidation or
- 1:20inflammation or damage from you know
- 1:23excessive sugar in the diet it could be
- 1:25your diabetic you could be a
- 1:27pre-diabetic it could come from omega-6
- 1:30fatty acids junk Foods alcohol all sorts
- 1:33of things so when you see plaquing
- 1:35you're also going to see this LDL a very
- 1:38specific kind the small dense particle
- 1:41size and that's correlated too with a
- 1:44high sugar high carb diet and some of
- 1:47this cholesterol in this little package
- 1:49and that's what the LDL is It's A
- 1:51protein that carries cholesterol
- 1:53cholesterol doesn't exist as cholesterol
- 1:55in the arteries like free-floating it's
- 1:58always in a little shuttle bus but the
- 2:01cholesterol is coming in the form of
- 2:02Band-Aid with this cement the the
- 2:05calcium and then also you're going to
- 2:07get a fibrous tissue like a protein seen
- 2:10cement that kind of mixes in with the
- 2:12calcium and the cholesterol as a
- 2:14Band-Aid and then you'll see like um a
- 2:17thrombus or a clot forming two in that
- 2:19same area so given that information what
- 2:21can we do to prevent slow down or
- 2:24reverse this situation all right there's
- 2:26several things to know about this um one
- 2:29of the controlling vitamins with calcium
- 2:31is vitamin K2 vitamin K2 drives the
- 2:34calcium into the bone without enough K2
- 2:37calcium tends to develop in the soft
- 2:41tissues of the body not just your
- 2:43arteries but also in the joints as well
- 2:46and there's one more point about
- 2:47biofilms there's some interesting things
- 2:49about biofilms especially when we're
- 2:51dealing with plaquing in your arteries
- 2:53there's several studies that I found
- 2:55that links periodontal
- 2:58bacteria the bacteria in your mouth this
- 3:03pathogenic bacteria actually ending up
- 3:06in the plaquing in your arteries I mean
- 3:09that's interesting because what are
- 3:11these uh periodontal
- 3:13bacteria they're pathogenic they're in
- 3:15your mouth doing in your heart okay now
- 3:19you have to realize like in the mouth
- 3:21you have over 700 different species okay
- 3:25not just bacteria but different types of
- 3:28bacteria in your mouth and one of the
- 3:30reasons why the bacteria can actually go
- 3:33through the pores uh through your gums
- 3:36and into your bloodstream is the same
- 3:38reason why bacteria can leak from your
- 3:42intestines into your bloodstream that's
- 3:44called bacterial translocation where
- 3:47bacteria is moving through the wall they
- 3:50might get bleeding gums so that allows
- 3:52the microbes to go right through these
- 3:54little holes into your bloodstream so
- 3:56high vitamin C foods are definitely
- 3:59necessary for this meal so foods with
- 4:02large amounts of vitamin C would also be
- 4:05a good thing then we have vitamin E okay
- 4:08vitamin E in relationship to keeping
- 4:10your cardiovascular system intact is
- 4:13very very important first of all it
- 4:16helps prevent those lesions on the
- 4:18inside of the um the wall of the artery
- 4:20called endothelial tissue when you're
- 4:23low in vitamin E which is a very
- 4:24powerful antioxidant you can get a lot
- 4:27of oxidation and inflammation so vitamin
- 4:30E is very important also it's important
- 4:33in the heart muscle itself keeping your
- 4:35oxygen high and preventing an actual
- 4:38heart attack so we have vitamin K2 very
- 4:40important vitamin C very important and
- 4:43vitamin E and the other important thing
- 4:45with the heart especially to avoid that
- 4:49lesion in the artery is to keep your
- 4:52omega-6 fatty acids very low and keep
- 4:55your omega-3 very very high so a really
- 4:58important thing in this meal should be
- 5:00omega-3 fatty acids okay all right so
- 5:03what should this Meal look like well
- 5:05let's start from the top
- 5:07omega-3 fatty acids okay what food is
- 5:10very very high in omega-3 and that would
- 5:12be wild caught salmon so if you include
- 5:16salmon in this meal okay you're going to
- 5:18have a good amount of omega-3 fatty
- 5:21acids which is going to support the
- 5:22arteries as well as the heart muscle
- 5:24itself and having enough omega-3 will
- 5:28decrease your inflammation as well in
- 5:30your arteries and doing that can
- 5:33actually lower blood pressure as well
- 5:34all right there's something else that I
- 5:37think is very very important in
- 5:39preventing and even maybe reversing some
- 5:42of this plaquing in the arteries this
- 5:43thing has like seven times the
- 5:46requirements of vitamin C it also is one
- 5:49of the most microbial dense foods that
- 5:51you can eat giving you a strong
- 5:54probiotic effect with high levels of
- 5:58lactic acid bacterium now let me just
- 6:01kind of discuss lactic acid bacteria
- 6:03it's not just one bacteria it's a group
- 6:05of many different types of bacteria that
- 6:08is usually involved in fermentation and
- 6:10so the food that I'm talking about is
- 6:13sauerkraut okay that is a fermented
- 6:15cabbage product and sauerkraut is loaded
- 6:19with this lactic acid bacteria and
- 6:21lactic acid bacteria as a standalone
- 6:24thing is very interesting because it can
- 6:25act as an Ace inhibitor to help lower
- 6:28blood pressure it can inhibit biofilms
- 6:32which is very very cool it can decrease
- 6:34the risk of cardiovascular disease by
- 6:37supporting your gut there is a huge
- 6:40relationship between a healthy gut
- 6:43with the right microbes and a healthy
- 6:46heart also this lactic acid bacteria can
- 6:49help regulate LDL cholesterol especially
- 6:52the small dense particle size LDL and
- 6:56having enough of this lactic acid
- 6:57bacteria can enhance your production of
- 7:02secondary bile salts which can help the
- 7:05absorption of more vitamin E
- 7:09vitamin D
- 7:11and vitamin K2 all three of those are
- 7:14fat soluble and can greatly support the
- 7:17cardiovascular tissue and it just so
- 7:19happens that sauerkraut is loaded with
- 7:21vitamin K2 now normally vitamin K2 is in
- 7:25like certain hard cheeses fats but
- 7:30microbes can also make k2 just to
- 7:33summarize what sauerkraut is it's a
- 7:35superfood for the heart it supports the
- 7:38gut lining to prevent this these
- 7:41microbes from traveling through a leaky
- 7:42gut up into the heart it has many
- 7:45different diverse types of microbial
- 7:47entities that can greatly help you in
- 7:51many different ways and then sauerkraut
- 7:53is loaded with vitamin K2 to keep the
- 7:55calcium out of the arteries it's loaded
- 7:56with vitamin C like I said before seven
- 7:59times the RDA so that gives you a
- 8:02tremendous amount of vitamin C that can
- 8:04directly inhibit biofilms as well as act
- 8:08as an antioxidant in your arteries
- 8:09preventing these lesions or damage to
- 8:12the wall of the arteries remember the
- 8:14biofilms can only stick to an area
- 8:16that's roughened or irritated so if your
- 8:19arteries are smooth they can't quite
- 8:21stick to the inside of your arteries to
- 8:23form the plaquing in the first place in
- 8:25the last part of this meal is a big
- 8:27arugula salad with several things in it
- 8:30which I'm going to cover but arugula as
- 8:34a vegetable is a superior salad green
- 8:36compared to regular lettuce because
- 8:38first of all it's cruciferous so it's
- 8:40really good for the liver it's bitter it
- 8:42has blood glucose lowering properties
- 8:44it's loaded with something called dim
- 8:47which can help lower biofilms directly
- 8:51it also has fiber the feed the bacteria
- 8:54and it's also loaded in potassium which
- 8:57can help keep the arteries softened so
- 9:00your blood pressure can stay normal and
- 9:03then of course on that salad I would put
- 9:05extra virgin olive oil the real stuff it
- 9:07has significant effects on blood
- 9:10pressure not to mention it has a very
- 9:12powerful anti-inflammatory effects as
- 9:14well then it would also add apple cider
- 9:16vinegar but you can also use balsamic
- 9:18vinegar red but the acetic acid in the
- 9:21vinegar has many properties to help
- 9:24lowering the risk of cardiovascular
- 9:25disease it's great for helping regulate
- 9:28your blood sugar it can help regulate
- 9:30your cholesterol it can help mobilize
- 9:33your bile salts and it has
- 9:35anti-inflammatory properties and then if
- 9:37you add sunflower seeds okay we can
- 9:41Spike more vitamin E and like I said
- 9:43before vitamin E is very very important
- 9:45now the next thing I'm going to talk
- 9:47about is a hard cheese okay hard cheeses
- 9:49are loaded with vitamin K2
- 9:51and the type of choose I would recommend
- 9:54is called parmigiano now I probably did
- 9:58not pronounce that exactly like I should
- 10:00but the American translation from
- 10:03Italian is parmesan but apparently
- 10:06there's been a lot of lawsuits involving
- 10:07this topic because apparently craft
- 10:11trademarked this English translation
- 10:15from the real parmesan cheese in Italy
- 10:18because the real parmigiano version of
- 10:21that cheese is only produced by a
- 10:24collective group of farmers in Northern
- 10:27Italy
- 10:28that keep their standards very very high
- 10:32and this has been going on since the
- 10:33Middle Ages it wasn't until only fairly
- 10:36recently that Kraft came in there and
- 10:38started to make it but unfortunately
- 10:39there's a big difference in how they
- 10:42make it in America versus how they make
- 10:43it uh in Italy in Italy they age it for
- 10:47like one to three years compared to in
- 10:51America I think they age it for 10
- 10:53months and the crafts version of this
- 10:55cheese definitely does not have to abide
- 10:58by the same policies and rules and laws
- 11:01then the authentic cheese in Italy has
- 11:03to abide by and the other thing you have
- 11:04to watch out for in this Americanized
- 11:06parmesan cheese is that sometimes they
- 11:10add this filler of cellulose okay which
- 11:14is wood pulp so what I would recommend
- 11:16is get the authentic type from Italy and
- 11:21shave it on your salad I do it every
- 11:23single day that way you have a delicious
- 11:25cheese that's loaded with vitamin K2 and
- 11:28it's great amount of protein there's
- 11:31probiotics in this product and it's an
- 11:34incredible product I actually went to
- 11:35one of the Farms where they create this
- 11:37cheese and I was blown away at what they
- 11:41feed the cows to make sure the microbes
- 11:43are just right and the soils that they
- 11:46grow the grass on for the cows they
- 11:49don't get fed grain it's all grass and
- 11:52the amount of work that goes in to make
- 11:53this cheese and keep it a really
- 11:55standard process
- 11:57is mind-blowing and the last thing I'm
- 12:00going to recommend to put on your salad
- 12:01is garlic okay you can use powder you
- 12:04can use actual garlic you can use
- 12:06fermented garlic but garlic is great for
- 12:08the heart it actually can thin the blood
- 12:11if there's a chance that you are high
- 12:14risk for clotting it can help lower your
- 12:16blood pressure it's antimicrobial
- 12:19anti-biofilm and the list goes on and on
- 12:23all right so now that you have that
- 12:24information I think the best most
- 12:27interesting next video for you to watch
- 12:29would be the one on biofilms in your
- 12:32mouth check it out I put it right here
