  1. 0:00By the way, I came up with a permanent
  2. 0:01answer to the question of like what
  3. 0:03business should I start and I feel very
  4. 0:04happy about it. I've been asked asked a
  5. 0:05question a zillion times and I finally
  6. 0:07had one come out that I was like, I like
  7. 0:08that answer. So, I will tell you what it
  8. 0:09is even though no one asked it.
  9. 0:11If you are struggling to figure out what
  10. 0:13business to start,
  11. 0:14it is because you have too many options.
  12. 0:18If you want to figure out how what
  13. 0:19business to start, you need to narrow
  14. 0:21your options, which means you to put
  15. 0:22filters. So, imagine you said, "Hey,
  16. 0:23what should I buy on Amazon?" It's like,
  17. 0:25"Well, what are we what are we looking
  18. 0:26for, right?" There's tons of great
  19. 0:28products on Amazon. There's tons of
  20. 0:29great businesses out there that you
  21. 0:30could start and there's tons of great
  22. 0:31businesses that don't exist. But, of the
  23. 0:34many businesses, do I want to be remote
  24. 0:37or do I want to be in person? Uh I'd
  25. 0:39rather be in person. Okay. Do I want to
  26. 0:41be uh selling services or do I want to
  27. 0:43sell products? Or do I want to sell
  28. 0:45software?
  29. 0:46Uh okay. I I think I'd rather I'm more
  30. 0:48of a tech guy. Okay, great. I'd rather
  31. 0:49sell rather sell software. Do I want to
  32. 0:51sell a lower ticket thing that doesn't
  33. 0:53require a sales team? What kind of sales
  34. 0:55motion do I want to put in place? Do I
  35. 0:56want to sell in person? Do I want to
  36. 0:58sell over the phone or Zoom? Do I want
  37. 0:59to sell with the checkout page? I think
  38. 1:01I rather sell with the checkout page.
  39. 1:02Okay, great. Right? And so, as you
  40. 1:03narrow it down, all of a sudden you're
  41. 1:05like, "Oh, it took from this world to
  42. 1:06wow, there's much smaller uh pool of
  43. 1:10options." And then instead of picking
  44. 1:12from a thousand things, you're picking
  45. 1:13from four and you can be very well
  46. 1:16uh you can be more confident about your
  47. 1:17decision. Because the thing is is that
  48. 1:18your confidence in your decision is
  49. 1:19typically inversely correlated with the
  50. 1:21number of choices you were presented.
  51. 1:23And so, the idea is you want to limit
  52. 1:24your choices as much as possible, right?
  53. 1:26If And this is part of the issue with
  54. 1:27dating right now. If you were in a town
  55. 1:30that has one stoplight and there's five
  56. 1:32people your age that are the opposite
  57. 1:34sex or whatever you're into, whatever,
  58. 1:36that you got to pick from, then you're
  59. 1:37going to be like, "All right, well, you
  60. 1:39know, this this guy or gal doesn't have
  61. 1:41a lazy eye and he doesn't smell bad. And
  62. 1:45so, I think this one's the one for me,
  63. 1:47right?" And you feel pretty confident
  64. 1:49about the decision cuz you look at the
  65. 1:49other four and you're like, "Ah, I got
  66. 1:51the best one, right?" When every day
  67. 1:53you're bombarded with the the
  68. 1:55that you can choose from millions of
  69. 1:57supermodels and for the women the super
  70. 2:00rich, super tall, super blue-eyed, you
  71. 2:03know, whatever the hell, right? It just
  72. 2:05gives a distortion and then it makes
  73. 2:07every choice something you second-guess
  74. 2:09because you had the illusion of choice.
  75. 2:11Right? So, right now you have the
  76. 2:13illusion of choice. You probably aren't
  77. 2:14going to go raise like a load of
  78. 2:15money. That would be another one. Like
  79. 2:17of those little filters, is this
  80. 2:18something I'm going to raise money for
  81. 2:19or can I start bootstrapped? Which one
  82. 2:20do I want to start? Both of those are
  83. 2:22fine. You just got to make a choice,
  84. 2:23right?
  85. 2:25And so, yes, that is how I answer the
  86. 2:26question of what business should I
  87. 2:28start? You have to ask all the things
  88. 2:30you hate and then look at what's left
  89. 2:32and then make your decision with the
  90. 2:33smallest possible pool you can pick from
  91. 2:35and then move forward. If you like this
  92. 2:37video and you're business owner who
  93. 2:38wants to break through your current
  94. 2:39revenue ceiling, I distilled every
  95. 2:40lesson from scaling 10 businesses past
  96. 2:4210 million and three businesses past 100
  97. 2:44million into completely free scaling
  98. 2:46roadmap that I've used to go from zero
  99. 2:48to one, zero to 10, and zero to 100
  100. 2:50plus. And so, you can click here and you
  101. 2:51can check it out. Again, absolutely free
  102. 2:53and since you're business owner, I
  103. 2:54appreciate you and enjoy it.
