- 0:00we're going to start off by talking
- 0:01about art and photography do you like
- 0:04art H that's interesting um depends on
- 0:09what I like Cinema for instance movies
- 0:13music but I don't know too much about um
- 0:17paintings or Modern Art I'm not too
- 0:22familiar with so it depends on what kind
- 0:23of art do you like to take photographs
- 0:27yes I wouldn't say the photographs are
- 0:29good but I do enjoy taking pictures yeah
- 0:33do you prefer to take photos of yourself
- 0:36or other things of other things it's
- 0:39kind of hard to take pictures of
- 0:41yourself unless it's a selfie and that's
- 0:44limited so pictures of other things
- 0:47mostly now let's talk about animals do
- 0:51you like animals I love animals uh land
- 0:54animals friendly so to speak animals not
- 0:58insects and not anything from the ocean
- 1:01what is your favorite animal um probably
- 1:04a dog dogs for obvious reasons you can
- 1:08keep them as pets in terms of like
- 1:10non-domesticated animals probably
- 1:13Jaguars do you have any animals in your
- 1:16home as pets yes I have two dogs they're
- 1:20both from the shelter the animal shelter
- 1:23they rescues um yeah I've always had
- 1:27pets our family really likes keeping
- 1:29animals right ground now let's talk
- 1:31about bags what type of bags do you like
- 1:35I
- 1:36prefer purses that are a little bit on
- 1:39the larger side just cuz I like to put
- 1:43every thing of my life in my purse um so
- 1:49it ends up weighing maybe 20
- 1:52kilos yeah larger bags probably
- 1:55structured larger bags how often do you
- 1:59carry a bag when you go out every day I
- 2:02think that's the case for most women I
- 2:03think they carry a bag every even if you
- 2:05go down to the grocery or the
- 2:07supermarket you take your bag with you
- 2:10usually
- 2:11right what sort of bags do women like to
- 2:15buy it
- 2:17depends um it depends on your outfit it
- 2:21depends on where you're going um for the
- 2:23day if you're going to the office you
- 2:27probably want something bigger that can
- 2:29fit your laptop your phone
- 2:32paperwork um everything that you might
- 2:34need during the day um if it's nighttime
- 2:39you'd want something smaller like a
- 2:41clutch something more Sleek
- 2:43elegant um so it depends if you're
- 2:46traveling you'd want a much bigger bag
- 2:49that's able to fit mhm not just you but
- 2:51all of your family's stuff as well so
- 2:54everything women like all kinds of bags
- 2:56that's why we have so many of them now
- 2:58let's talk about birthday mhm what did
- 3:01you usually do on your birthday when you
- 3:03were a child so when I was a kid when I
- 3:07was a child um in school we had a
- 3:11uniform everybody wore a uniform to
- 3:13school so when it was your birthday it
- 3:16was the one day of the year that you
- 3:17were allowed to wear whatever you wanted
- 3:19so it was a big deal I mean at least I
- 3:22would pick out my outfit like two months
- 3:24in advance it would be like a little
- 3:26dress like a princessy frock matching
- 3:29shoes matching accessories for your hair
- 3:33and then you would take some kind of
- 3:35chocolate or candy to school and then
- 3:37you could take like a period off and go
- 3:40and give the candy out to other teachers
- 3:43and other kids in the school and we
- 3:45looked forward to it every year it was
- 3:47the highlight to get to not have to wear
- 3:50the uniform to wear whatever you wanted
- 3:53and to basically be able to skip class
- 3:56and go out and hand out chocolates cuz
- 3:58it's your birthday how do you normally
- 4:00celebrate your birthday now H very
- 4:03differently everyone's allowed to wear
- 4:05whatever they want now so it's kind of
- 4:07not doesn't have the same charm um it
- 4:11depends I like to do a little dinner
- 4:13with um my friends something lowkey I'm
- 4:17not a very big party person so dinner is
- 4:22usually good um followed by probably
- 4:25like a games night or a movies movie
- 4:27night at home or at the cinema something
- 4:31low key do you think it's important to
- 4:33give someone a card on their birthday
- 4:36like a handwritten like a birthday
- 4:38card um I think so yes because I'm quite
- 4:44sentimental and emotional so I prefer
- 4:48more um emotional sentimental gifts so I
- 4:52think if someone takes the time to write
- 4:54something by hand for you I think that I
- 4:59mean I hold on to stuff like that so I
- 5:01think it's a very nice thoughtful
- 5:04present to give someone on their
- 5:05birthday the first time I met a new
- 5:07friend so I'm going to go way back it
- 5:09was my first day of school
- 5:12kindergarten and I met a girl named Aman
- 5:15prit k um she we were about I think we
- 5:20just turned four years old uh we met
- 5:23obviously in
- 5:24kindergarten um first year of school uh
- 5:29what I liked about her when I first saw
- 5:31her I mean we were sitting together with
- 5:33the teacher made us sit next to each
- 5:35other and um she had this long
- 5:39hair and it was like sectioned into two
- 5:42parts and it was just braided all the
- 5:44way
- 5:46down and she had the cutest face I've
- 5:48ever seen she had this little fluffy
- 5:50marshmallow like face I guess that's all
- 5:53it takes when you're a kid to want to be
- 5:56friends with somebody um and then I
- 5:59tried tried to so there's like this
- 6:01little thing that kids do where they put
- 6:03their thumb out to show other kids that
- 6:06I want to be your
- 6:07friend um and then if you don't want to
- 6:10be friends with them you do this it's
- 6:11like a silly little thing so I did this
- 6:14to her I put my thumb out to say hey do
- 6:16you want to be
- 6:17friends and she was like this and I was
- 6:21heartbroken I was like how can she know
- 6:23want to be my
- 6:25friend um and then I saw her again the
- 6:29next day
- 6:30um and the day the next day after that
- 6:32and the day after that and then
- 6:34eventually we ended up becoming best
- 6:36friends she she did it back to me
- 6:38obviously at some point she was my first
- 6:40best friend that I ever had in life she
- 6:44was from Punjab which is a part of
- 6:47India um and her mom used to make the
- 6:52most amazing it's called parata it's
- 6:54like this
- 6:56stuffed bread it's like they put a
- 6:59potato and spices into like um into a
- 7:02flatbread and my mom used to make
- 7:04something called CRA which is sweet
- 7:08semolina situation that's the end of the
- 7:12two minutes okay we've been talking
- 7:14about a friend that you met we're going
- 7:17to now talk about friends at school how
- 7:20important is it for children to have
- 7:22lots of friends at school to thank you
- 7:25for watching this video I want to give
- 7:27you a free course that has help
- 7:28thousands of students improve their I
- 7:31speaking score what it's going to do is
- 7:33take you through every single part of
- 7:36the test and give you strategies for
- 7:38part one part two and part three and
- 7:40also allow you to practice at home for
- 7:43free and get feedback to sign up for
- 7:46that for free all you have to do is just
- 7:48click the link in the description thanks
- 7:50very much and let's get back to the
- 7:51video it depends I would say I would
- 7:55perhaps think that quality is more
- 7:57important than quantity so I wouldn't
- 8:00say that the objective should be to make
- 8:02as many friends as you can or to be
- 8:06popular um as much as the objective
- 8:09should be to build meaningful
- 8:11friendships with people that could be
- 8:13one person that could be five people
- 8:15that could be 10 people situational I
- 8:18would say yeah so it's not so much how
- 8:21many friends you have as um it's it's
- 8:25not as important to have a lot of
- 8:28friends as it might be to have people
- 8:32that you can trust that you can kind of
- 8:34take with you in life for a longer term
- 8:38do you think it is wrong for parents to
- 8:40choose which friends their children have
- 8:44H again that's a tricky one now when I
- 8:47answer these questions I'm thinking back
- 8:50to real life situations and in some
- 8:54cases I have seen parents
- 8:58interfering and trying to make those
- 9:00decisions for their children where they
- 9:03were right to do so because the child
- 9:05was in bad company and they were too
- 9:08naive or too um I mean I guess they were
- 9:14just too naive to see that that
- 9:16situation was not right for them but
- 9:18their parent obviously was able to
- 9:20identify that my child's in Bad Company
- 9:22so in those cases I would say that your
- 9:24parents are able to read a dangerous
- 9:27situation better but there's also the
- 9:30flip side
- 9:31where everybody kind of does make bad
- 9:34decisions your parents made bad
- 9:36decisions you made bad decisions and the
- 9:38way that you learn from them is to have
- 9:41a negativist experience and then find
- 9:44your way out of it um so I would say
- 9:48that I can see certain situations
- 9:51whether it's bad relationships bad
- 9:53friendships um when you're younger not
- 9:56relationships when you're younger
- 9:57friendships when you're younger some
- 9:59times it's necessary to have that
- 10:02experience so that you know firsthand
- 10:04how to deal with that situation and you
- 10:07may not be able to get that experience
- 10:09if your parents always Shield you from
- 10:11every single thing that can go wrong so
- 10:14I can kind of see depends on the
- 10:17situation I would say now let's talk
- 10:19about making new friends can you think
- 10:21of any disadvantages of making new
- 10:23friends online disadvantages of making
- 10:26new friends online I think the I think
- 10:29there's more disadvantages to
- 10:31making new friends I mean there was a
- 10:34Show recently that came out on Netflix
- 10:36called tender swindler the thing is with
- 10:40most of what we see online isn't real
- 10:43whether it's social media or um even
- 10:47news for that matter uh everything is
- 10:50kind of edit edited and monitored to
- 10:53present a certain kind of
- 10:55image so if you meet somebody online and
- 11:00you know nothing about them they can
- 11:02really present any version of reality or
- 11:06a completely um
- 11:10curated sometimes dishonest form of
- 11:14their reality to you so it's a very
- 11:17dangerous uh game to play friendships or
- 11:20relationships both friendships
- 11:23friendships yeah
- 11:26it's somebody you know nothing about is
- 11:28a very
- 11:30everything can go wrong there right
- 11:33would you say it is harder for people to
- 11:35make new friends as they get older
- 11:39yes I think it becomes harder for people
- 11:42to
- 11:43make um friends as they get
- 11:46older I think adults are perhaps a
- 11:49little bit
- 11:50more
- 11:52um more structured I mean the older that
- 11:56you get the more set you get in your
- 11:58ways your routine where you work your
- 12:02family your gym children for children it
- 12:05becomes it's very easy for children to
- 12:07interact with other children like if you
- 12:09put two kids in a room and 3 seconds
- 12:11they're talking to each other without
- 12:13any restriction they're talking about
- 12:15all of their family secrets and
- 12:16everything you know they they're
- 12:18comfortable but with adults obviously
- 12:21people tend to be more filtered when
- 12:23they interact with other
- 12:25adults um also I think if you've been
- 12:29friends from the time that you were a
- 12:31child with somebody you've lived through
- 12:33so many life events together that that
- 12:36kind of bond is hard to build with
- 12:37someone that you meet in your mid 30s
- 12:40because you've just lost so much time
- 12:43that you're learning something you're
- 12:45learning about them from scratch where
- 12:47they went to school about their family
- 12:49about their relationships about their
- 12:52siblings so yeah I think it's a it's not
- 12:55impossible you can make a lot of
- 12:57incredible friendships
- 12:59later in life but it's probably harder
- 13:03to come by than if you were a kid in
- 13:06play school so what I'm going to do now
- 13:09is give you feedback on each part cuz
- 13:12each part is a little bit different give
- 13:14you some tips on on on how to perform as
- 13:17well or even better um next time and
- 13:20then there are four marking criteria uh
- 13:24fluency and coherence grammar
- 13:26pronunciation and vocabulary and and I
- 13:29will give you a band for each of those
- 13:32and tell you what band the top is band
- 13:34nine so let's see if you can get get
- 13:36right to the top to thank you for making

- 14:15answer 100% of the questions that we get
- 14:18hope that you become a VIP if not enjoy
- 14:21the rest of this free video so part one
- 14:24it's just normal everyday questions and
- 14:27you answer those very very naturally
- 14:29again it was like talking to a friend or
- 14:31a colleague and the length of your
- 14:33answers was also quite good this is not
- 14:35a criticism and it's just kind of who
- 14:38you are as a person you're a very
- 14:39friendly chatty person who wants the
- 14:41other person to interact so you're often
- 14:44like girls like buying bags right that
- 14:46is fine in normal conversation if you
- 14:48were to do the test for real The
- 14:50Examiner could be quite stone-faced cuz
- 14:53they're doing their job they're not
- 14:55being unfriendly they just have a job to
- 14:57do and they're trying to think about
- 14:59your grammar and your vocabulary and
- 15:00your pronunciation and your fluency and
- 15:02there's a lot going on there and for
- 15:04them they cannot start to interact with
- 15:07you yeah and on test day you might not
- 15:10get a very friendly examiner like me I
- 15:14don't know whether I was friendly or you
- 15:16were but they might be like you know
- 15:19don't do that or some of them could you
- 15:21know be having a bad day and they just
- 15:23like don't ask questions now I have
- 15:26experienced with with not myself but
- 15:29other students have said when they did
- 15:31that they thought the examiner was
- 15:33criticizing them or being rude they took
- 15:36that to heart and thought Oh my God I
- 15:38failed my test and they went from doing
- 15:41very very well to everything fell apart
- 15:44because if you feel nervous yeah you
- 15:46feel uncomfortable with someone then it
- 15:49really affects your fluency you can clam
- 15:51up you don't want to really show your
- 15:53language and who you are you don't want
- 15:55to because one of the Great
- 15:59uh advantages or or great strength that
- 16:02you have is you you you're very open
- 16:05about about who you are as a person and
- 16:07that's great because it allows you to
- 16:09speak in a very fluent way if you go and
- 16:12do the test for real probably don't
- 16:14interact with the examiner as much part
- 16:17two you did a great job because you just
- 16:19picked a real event a real person from
- 16:22your life and it's much easier to talk
- 16:24about that some students try to pick
- 16:27something high level or impr impressive
- 16:29to impress The Examiner there's no such
- 16:31thing uh the best thing to do is pick
- 16:33something from your real life cuz that's
- 16:35easy to talk about part three you did
- 16:38very very well because you really
- 16:40extended your answers again you use real
- 16:42situations from your own life you don't
- 16:44have to do that but it really did help
- 16:46you develop your answers terms of the
- 16:49scores pronunciation is pretty much
- 16:52Perfect The Examiner will be thinking
- 16:54about can I understand every word this
- 16:56person is saying 100% I can understand
- 16:59every syllable then the examiner will be
- 17:02thinking about highlevel pronunciation
- 17:04features such as your intonation so our
- 17:06voices go up or voices go down you speak
- 17:09like a native English speaker in that
- 17:11respect sentence stress is when we
- 17:14emphasize certain words this is my phone
- 17:17not your phone so you emphasize certain
- 17:20words at times again you do that 100%
- 17:22naturally and then you use connected
- 17:24speech the way native English speakers
- 17:26talk we wouldn't say I want to talk
- 17:30about my friend he say I want to talk
- 17:32about my friend the flow of the language
- 17:34so absolutely perfect no problems there
- 17:37coherence and fluency coherence is did
- 17:39you answer the questions did you develop
- 17:41them enough you did that 100% of the
- 17:44time and then fluency is did you speak
- 17:46without any um unnatural pausing you did
- 17:50pause at times but the reason why you
- 17:53paused is important so in the last I
- 17:56think it was the second last question
- 17:58you were talking about adults and you
- 17:59were saying their lives are
- 18:01more structured so you weren't trying to
- 18:05think of the correct vocabulary because
- 18:07your English isn't good enough you were
- 18:09trying to just formulate your thoughts
- 18:11and come up with the appropriate precise
- 18:13word which you did so that demonstrates
- 18:16to The Examiner that you have a very
- 18:17high level of vocabulary cuz if you were
- 18:21cuz you're trying to think of the what's
- 18:23the word what so when people don't
- 18:25really know the language then they would
- 18:27stop and also because you approach this
- 18:30not as a test but more as a conversation
- 18:33and you are very open and talk about
- 18:36your your life in a very open way that
- 18:39really helps with fluency so again top
- 18:41marks for for fluency and coherence
- 18:44grammar I didn't hear a single grammar
- 18:46mistake The Examiner will be thinking
- 18:48about the accuracy of your grammar did
- 18:50you make any mistakes and the range of
- 18:52your grammar so if I talk to you about a
- 18:54birthday party in the past did you use
- 18:56the appropriate past tenses and then I
- 18:58asked you about what do you do today did
- 19:01you switch tenses did you use the
- 19:03appropriate grammatical structures and
- 19:05tenses to talk about it each situation
- 19:08and again you did that perfectly
- 19:10vocabulary very natural you use a nice
- 19:13mixture of just normal everyday words
- 19:16which everybody uses and you also use
- 19:19idiomatic language very very well so as
- 19:21you can see you're using very natural
- 19:24English and overall you would get a
- 19:27perfect band line oh wow which is very
- 19:30rare oh wow very very rare so well done
- 19:35thank you
