  1. 0:00what's up YouTube Welcome to my chat all
  2. 0:03right there'll be none of that here I
  3. 0:06couldn't resist indulge me but welcome
  4. 0:09to my channel which I've had for uh
  5. 0:12about 12 years and which was made for
  6. 0:15precisely this purpose to make videos
  7. 0:17like this though I haven't for 12 years
  8. 0:20and uh the reason is because uh truth be
  9. 0:22told I'm a
  10. 0:24perfectionist and when I first made the
  11. 0:26channel even though I wanted to make
  12. 0:27videos like this I thought uh I would
  13. 0:29have to learn a lot of technical stuff I
  14. 0:31thought I'd have to have per perfect
  15. 0:33lighting perfect background all sorts of
  16. 0:37uh other technical YouTube relevant
  17. 0:39aspects monetizing etc etc none of which
  18. 0:42really I've learned but I've since
  19. 0:45learned that that doesn't really much
  20. 0:47matter that uh just putting a camera and
  21. 0:50talking to people directly as I'm doing
  22. 0:52right now seems to hit the spot
  23. 0:55According to some people so find by me
  24. 0:57because that's a lot easier and I can
  25. 0:59just do it
  26. 1:00so at long last here we are with my uh
  27. 1:03first video directed at you the Watcher
  28. 1:07I've done many videos with interviewing
  29. 1:09people who would interview me and call
  30. 1:11me etc etc but this is a little
  31. 1:13different because I'm talking to you I
  32. 1:15guess directly and feel free to comment
  33. 1:17I'll be uh definitely reading those and
  34. 1:19let me know what you want to hear on
  35. 1:21this channel what sort of topics and
  36. 1:24videos I'll definitely take that under
  37. 1:27consideration um so along with with why
  38. 1:30of course uh I made this channel like I
  39. 1:32said 12 years ago and if you look at it
  40. 1:34you're just going to see old videos that
  41. 1:36I've done with other people that were
  42. 1:37just uploaded but none of this like not
  43. 1:40these sorts of
  44. 1:41videos um but you know
  45. 1:45honestly the way gen Z is and not a few
  46. 1:48Millennials making videos obviously is
  47. 1:51the way to go um it's the preferred
  48. 1:53medium not to mention it's very easy
  49. 1:55this is a lot easier than what I
  50. 1:57normally do uh if you know me I write
  51. 1:59books and articles and that requires a
  52. 2:01little more finesse and um articulation
  53. 2:05and research etc etc and I'm still going
  54. 2:07to do that of course because that's what
  55. 2:09I enjoy personally writing uh in books
  56. 2:11are still going to keep coming forth but
  57. 2:13I see this as a sort of Outlet um to the
  58. 2:18um those who would rather watch than
  59. 2:20read let's just say and I have and
  60. 2:23that's fine by me I understand
  61. 2:25that as for the topics uh it'll be
  62. 2:28essentially we'll start off with what I
  63. 2:31know and what I'm good at what I'm known
  64. 2:32for I'm kind of the Islam guy you know
  65. 2:35going back to almost 20 years I think uh
  66. 2:38my first published piece for the LA
  67. 2:40Times about Islam was in 2005 so almost
  68. 2:4220 years now that's what I've been
  69. 2:45dealing with writing with um
  70. 2:47translating um Islamic ideology Doctrine
  71. 2:51Etc increasingly though I've gone back
  72. 2:53to my initial academic interest which
  73. 2:56was the Nexus
  74. 2:58between uh Christen and Islam or really
  75. 3:01you know whatever the historical
  76. 3:03struggle between the west and Islam from
  77. 3:06its first early initial stages in the
  78. 3:097th Century up until today as evidenced
  79. 3:13by my more recent books sordan simitar
  80. 3:15Defenders of the West which really look
  81. 3:17at the history and my current book which
  82. 3:19I'm working on which is very similar to
  83. 3:22those but in a very unique way and we'll
  84. 3:25talk about that when the time comes but
  85. 3:27aside from the Islam stuff I plan on
  86. 3:29talking about a lot more topics uh
  87. 3:32obviously we live in a day and age where
  88. 3:34there's a lot of things going on above
  89. 3:37and beyond Islam Islam is still a very
  90. 3:39important potent Force that's completely
  91. 3:41overlooked by a lot of people in fact
  92. 3:43because there is so much going on it's
  93. 3:46almost uh what we have is going on is a
  94. 3:49distraction um that needs of course be
  95. 3:51dealt in its own terms but it's a
  96. 3:53distraction because we don't the Islamic
  97. 3:56imperative continues unabated in many
  98. 3:58ways and no one's really looking at and
  99. 4:00talking about it but along with
  100. 4:02discussing Islam in the past and in the
  101. 4:05present and in the future uh I hope to
  102. 4:08eventually start talking about a lot
  103. 4:10more relevant topics timely topics uh
  104. 4:13that have nothing to do with Islam you
  105. 4:15may be surprised but probably of all the
  106. 4:17research and reading I've done over the
  107. 4:20last few decades most of it has not been
  108. 4:22about Islam even though even though
  109. 4:24that's what I do uh that's essentially
  110. 4:27my profession but there's but there's
  111. 4:29still a lot lot of uh other historical
  112. 4:32non-islamic philosophical theological
  113. 4:35secular topics that one can delve in and
  114. 4:39eventually I hope to do that if I have
  115. 4:41the time and
  116. 4:43inclination at any rate so there it
  117. 4:46is um go ahead like And subscribe and
  118. 4:49and smash that button whatever I don't
  119. 4:52know what much of that means I do know
  120. 4:54what subscribe means and you should do
  121. 4:55that subscribe now and uh otherwise uh
  122. 4:59see see you soon farewell
