0:15mind office for those of you who know
0:17the deal hey you know the deal for those
0:20of you who don't just to give a quick
0:22summary Gap in favor dreams is that
0:24strange lovely headspace when it's warm
0:26enough to feel the change and want to
0:27get outside already until old man winter
0:29to pack his and leave but it's not
0:31quite ready out there to grab a shovel
0:32and start planting yeah you feel the
0:34shift and the cabin fever is real but
0:37what can you do with it all pent up it
0:40leaks over into your sleep it gets in
0:42your dreams and the result is always
0:44interesting in the morning
0:46so in that spirit I decided we're
0:49kicking off with a new creation I really
0:51adore that took a lot of dedication and
0:53I think it will take you back to a much
0:55happier time in a much happier place
0:58filled with delightful new friends but
1:01before we enter this neighborhood I've
1:03got to share that lately I've been
1:05getting more acquainted with my own and

3:10a unique form of project yeah go ahead

3:14I know and it requires a unique approach
3:17that's what we're about to go into
3:19uncharted waters a little bit here we're
3:21going to get organic and go through it
3:24without my prepared notes so for those
3:27of you who've always wanted me to give

3:34found out about welcome home and in
3:36accordance with the nature of the
3:37project I prefer that way what I will
3:39say is that there is no better
3:41introduction to the experience than its

4:13with a hop skip and a jump you were
4:15ushered into the colorful serendipitous
4:17world of Welcome Home it only takes one
4:20stroll down the neighborhood to know
4:21this is just the nicest little place
4:22you've ever seen
4:24watch Wally in his colorful array of
4:26friendly neighbors learn about the
4:27vibrant world around them and take part
4:29in nonsensical fun
4:32underneath we get a little bit more
4:33clarification welcome to the welcome

4:44so it's a puppet show and as you can see
4:46taking a look at it it seems very very
4:5070s TV inspired it's very obvious to
4:53know what the name brand uh it is most
4:57like is of course when it comes to
5:00puppets but they all seem to have
5:04distinct personality from them even if
5:06you can see the inspiration quite
5:08clearly and I really love that that's
5:11one of the immediate points that I can
5:13give you to observe of inspiration over
5:16imitation here
5:18so we know that it is a puppet show Lost
5:21to obscurity
5:23what's welcome home
5:26critically praised and financially
5:27successful welcome home dominated it's
5:30Saturday morning time slot with its
5:32colorful cast of Puppets entertaining
5:34and addictive stories and Lively sets
5:36unlike anything seen before surely a
5:39spectacle for audiences of all ages
5:41welcome home was an American children's
5:43television program created and produced
5:45by the play fellow Workshop which served
5:48as the Studio's only production
5:50okay Horror Story hints number one
5:54supposedly its first episode aired on
5:56October 11th 1969 horror hint number two
5:59started in October and was broadcast
6:02onto an unknown Channel until its last
6:04estimated air date sometime in 1974. so
6:07it did run for a few years at least
6:11you can see immediately these beautiful
6:13illustrations that are coming through
6:15welcome home primarily focus on the
6:17neighbors the show's inhabitants who
6:19were accompanied by a mixture of
6:21animated breaks and Illustrated
6:22storybook segments the setting itself
6:24was a colorful and exaggeratedly
6:26designed town named home with unique
6:29elements like a post office and a bodega
6:31as well as brightly colored creatures
6:32that lived within It episodes usually
6:35began with Wally introducing the focus
6:37or theme for the day before coming
6:38across other characters who would join
6:39him on his excutes until the end of the
6:41day which would signify the end of the
6:43show the end of the day okay that's the
6:46end of the show hmm so there might be a
6:49hint there that they never actually
6:51experienced night time all of the
6:54characters had notable recurring
6:55segments that were sprinkled throughout
6:56the entirety of the show's run such as
6:58Eddie dear creating arts and crafts
7:00Sally Starlet performing plays or Wally
7:03darling painting a picture with the help
7:05of other members of the cast The viewer
7:07was often regarded as an additional
7:09neighbor with Wally speaking to them on
7:11a regular basis and now you'll notice
7:13right away we have an anomaly
7:18why is this W so out of line with
7:20everything else
7:21you can see the original W is there but
7:25this one is fading there seems to be an
7:28inherent error on the page
7:30underneath this of course we have a
7:32slider and right away just immediately
7:35you can see the dedication to this
7:37project this strikes me so immediately
7:41this ad this retro ad that is mocked up
7:45just right that contains elements of
7:49Photography model work illustration
7:52paper cutouts and puppetry
7:57all in one all in one that is extremely
8:02impressive and the slide goes on as you
8:05can see underneath here it says restored
8:07remnants and reproduced pieces
8:10so these would be a lot of character
8:12interactions
8:14oh I'll be right back screen leading off

8:26Al one of the tie-in products a
8:28storybook and again just note the
8:32quality here the dedication that it took
8:34to produce this physical page with these
8:37illustrations get a puppet hand and then
8:41actually take the photo
8:50all these Valentine's cards like a lot
8:53of cartoons used to do
8:58oh even a Halloween special you know I
9:01gotta give some love to that
9:05okay that's actually vaguely
9:08you know what I'm feeling from that
9:10that's more leaning into our usual
9:12expectations
9:16of course this is a gift here that
9:17somebody's put together and
9:19so this character I believe Wally
9:23sleeping on a cake this just keeps going
9:25on and on
9:26which is incredible to me they did not
9:29create the Creator here they did not
9:31make just a few elements in order to try
9:34and convince you they just kept making
9:36things and put them together
9:39in this gallery
9:42just keeps going on

10:06okay so it seems to be a few different
10:08takes on it but two of these takes
10:12it seems as if the house is crying

10:29it's remarkable alone in a project like
10:32this just to see
10:34all the effort that went into creating
10:37what seem like different stages of
10:39production
10:41in the studio offices
10:45because this would be say kind of an
10:47expression sheet

10:53there's a lot of signatures here
10:55you might have noticed
10:58lower corner
11:09and it just keeps going on oh finally we
11:14hit an end
11:16but look at it all it's it's remarkable
11:18isn't it
11:20welcome home is believed to have had a
11:22four-year run upon further research
11:24before both its abrupt poll from
11:25television in 1974 and complete silence
11:28from its Entertainment Company the
11:30playfellow workshop welcome home success
11:33seemed to be set in stone and miss other
11:35television programs for a teacher
11:36Artistry captivating stories remarkable
11:39puppetry and Lively characters
11:41however all footage is presumably lost
11:44including supposed merchandise
11:46advertisements vinyl records and
11:48Illustrated books depicted in the
11:50episodes however what has been revealed
11:53has driven us to uncover its whereabouts
11:56and this is where it starts to get into
11:58our turf read more about our journey and
12:01how we are uncovering this long
12:02forgotten puppet show and our mission at
12:04the welcome home restoration project
12:05about us page we'd love to wouldn't we
12:09okay and again notice this the O is
12:12floating out of place
12:14and there is an existing o behind it
12:17so we have a w and we have an O who seem
12:19to be very purposeful when I originally
12:21found this project after somebody tossed
12:23me the lead when I took a look through
12:25it I noticed right off the bat that
12:28there are certain letters that are
12:29floating around and kind of glitched out
12:31my thought is that these are going to be
12:34needed for something
12:36maybe a password page maybe a link I've
12:40tried it a few times but maybe during
12:43this round I can uncover more
12:45the welcome home restoration project is
12:47a team of anonymous individuals
12:48dedicated to compiling restoring And
12:50archiving what few remnants of Welcome
12:52Home has been uncovered it is through
12:55these Collective efforts that we will
12:56awaken the memory of this last piece of
12:58media we strive to establish a friendly
13:00and open community of friends family and
13:02fans just like the colorful and quaint
13:04Neighbors in our beloved home love is
13:07clear in the messages of Wally darling
13:08and is as much of a Hallmark to him as
13:10his charismatic smile his cheery
13:12disposition and his eagerness to
13:14understand the world around him we too
13:16hope to spread this feeling of
13:18everlasting Joy caring understanding and
13:21acceptance to all in the hopes that you
13:22will join us in our thorough exploration
13:25Together We Will Make this House a Home
13:28visitors May wonder how we came to
13:30uncover such a show Yes actually where
13:33we obtain these works and the efforts
13:35taken to restore them to the best of our
13:36ability to that we are happy to open our
13:39front door to you neighbor

13:45at the whrp team have agreed upon

13:50and safety how did you begin your
13:53research to be honest we were drawn in
13:55unexpectedly all the information found
13:57on this website was extracted from
13:59documents that have been uncovered in
14:01brightly colored envelopes we are
14:03thankful to be the first to jump start
14:05this journey what do the illustrations
14:08writings and advertisements look like
14:09when you receive them
14:11all the paper materials tucked away
14:13inside the envelopes we have received
14:14are usually crowned together and covered
14:16in paint and ink despite these
14:18volunteers have both restored and
14:19recreated most of what was found on the
14:21documents below is an example of our
14:23work as we extract information from the
14:25original document and translate it into
14:26a digital state
14:27that is a hell of a Recovery Act isn't
14:30it but also the original piece in its
14:34destroyed States
14:35immediately you know you have alarm
14:38Bells going off of why did somebody try
14:41to destroy this

14:44our volunteers have also produced
14:46speculative pieces from the information
14:48gathered such as Frank's spinning head
14:50Eddie's removable hat and the heart
14:52marks on the bottom of Wally's shoes we
14:55hope more fan interpretations will be
14:56able to arise just like this

14:59why did you make this website
15:02um that's uh
15:04so the question seems to be doubled over
15:07but the answer is in turmoil
15:11let's see the original
15:13I hoped that this website would grab the
15:17attention of someone who has seen the
15:19show before and could tell us more about
15:22it if this wasn't possible then we
15:24wanted to be the first to Showcase this
15:26last piece of media to help spur on the
15:27research for its existence

15:32talked about seeing this show before so

16:23unfortunately no we've yet to receive
16:26footage from the show nor a full catalog
16:27of all the episodes we've estimated the
16:30last air date for the show was in 74 but
16:32only because it is the most recent date
16:34listed on a script hmm

16:42employee now and I am not affiliated
16:44with the company but we know of Ronald

17:14neighborhood even if you don't live
17:16there you're still one of its most
17:18important denizens but don't worry with
17:20the help of this colorful array of
17:22neighbors it'll feel just like home in
17:23no time at all

19:06boring day and welcome home while she's
19:08around she's Frank's best friend
19:11now obviously we could go through all of
19:14these bit for bit piece for peace
19:16but let's be honest we're looking for
19:20Secrets a lot of this would be hardcore
19:23TV show lore which is great in order to
19:26actually understand the concept and the
19:28characters but we like to get to the
19:31bottom of things sooner rather than
19:33later
19:34so there's Julie
19:37Sally starlets
19:39according to an uncovered script Sally
19:42had once been the brightest star in the
19:44sky even more than those that surrounded
19:45her however looking down at a nearby
19:48Celestial body from her spot she knew
19:50there were still places she had yet to
19:51truly shine and fell from above as a
19:53shooting star
19:54concept artwork revealed that Sally was
19:56a live hand puppet but required an
19:58additional hand to help move her head as
20:00it was much larger than other puppets
20:03notice earlier what we established about
20:05the episode seeming to end whenever the
20:07day would end

20:13her house but as a star
20:16she only seems to be in a sun shape her
20:21eye shadow does seem to indicate
20:22nighttime but so far there's not a lot
20:26of night that we are experiencing here

20:35other characters that's cute
20:37old scripts outlined poppy had lived
20:39with her family and a nest had been
20:41tucked away in a tree hollowed deep
20:42within the forest but that she would
20:43eventually outgrow to a staggering
20:45degree
20:46Eddie a male carrier who moved into home
20:49from a distant town in order to
20:51establish a post office
20:53Eddie had never stated the correct name
20:55of where he came from throughout the
20:57show's run the running joke often had
21:00him stating a place that did not exist
21:01followed by an admission to
21:03misremembering it as a place he
21:05delivered to as opposed to a place he
21:06lived I guess that could be a humor bet
21:10but it is kind of strange right
21:15howdy pillar
21:17all right that's cute a small time
21:20caterpillar who wanted to start his own
21:22business
21:23Audi's puppet was rotated between a live
21:26hand puppet and a walk-around puppet in
21:28order to keep him in frame with his
21:29fellow residents
21:36Barnaby B beagle
21:39Barnaby's puppet was rotated between a
21:41live hand puppet and a walk around
21:43typically to keep him in frame with his
21:45much shorter Neighbors
21:47Frank
21:49smartest neighbor and welcome home
21:51resident Bookworm with an expertise on
21:53butterflies
21:54puppet appeared with a fixed frown on
21:56its face but an illustrated material
21:59Frank often had more complex expressions
22:02Wally
22:04Wally darling the friendliest neighbor
22:06and welcome home perhaps even the best
22:08painter too we would smile like his it's
22:11hard to disagree always eager to make
22:13new friends and show them around the
22:14neighborhood while he's happy to lend a
22:16helping hand but you knew that already
22:19didn't you
22:21okay yeah now it's starting to get there
22:25his house is named home
22:28is regarded as the ninth neighbor but
22:32seemingly cannot speak as illustrations
22:34show home speaking only in onomatopoeias
22:36Creek squeak bang sources say however
22:40that this puppet's eyes could move
22:42through a hand crank on the other side
22:43of the prop facing away from the camera
22:45additionally it stores chimney and
22:48windows were supposedly very animated
22:49during episodes it is implied that home
22:52is the most Lively house within the
22:53neighborhood as none of the other houses
22:55seem to have eyes
22:57okay this is interesting notice now it's

24:31restoration much the package found was
24:33soaking wet so uncovering the entire set
24:36had been a dilemma we assume it must be
24:38water damage however our restorers have
24:41managed to clean up Sally Starlet and
24:42howdy Pillar To What We believe to be
24:44their original Glory hot dog
24:47we've also updated our guest book so if
24:49you remember leaving us a kind message
24:50feel free to peruse the gallery of
24:52signatures
24:54okay this is interesting

24:58oh this is very interesting the welcome
25:02home restoration project has received so
25:04much love and support in the duration of
25:06our efforts to recover this last piece
25:07of media
25:09but even better you believe me
25:12you know it is out there with that said
25:15someone has reached out to us to offer
25:17the opportunity to showcase our findings
25:18publicly for the world to see in an
25:20in-person exhibition
25:22they are regarded as the question
25:23answerer a professional exhibitor and
25:26museum curator who believes in our happy
25:28home just as much as we do
25:31together we will get it out we will get
25:34everything out you will see as we do
25:37neighbor

27:45all the characters it seems which is
27:47very cute

35:58focuses on unraveling the mystery
36:00surrounding a beloved 70s children TV
36:02show you are to accompany a colorful
36:04Cavalcade of Puppets as their beloved
36:05neighborhood begins to skew into store
36:07into a nightmarish memory that they can
36:09barely recall through Illustrated books
36:11recordings and an array of mold
36:13merchandise you will find what dwells
36:15within this colorful home beneath its
36:18beautiful carpets behind its gorgeous
36:19wallpaper and deep within its breathing
36:21crevices fortunately you have someone to
36:23keep you company and hold your hand as
36:25you walk down a path now long forgotten
36:30and there's a gallery here too

37:17there's a lot more to this than what you

37:42painting for some of the odd work so big

38:05think it will be delicious and exciting
38:07and horrifying and wonderfully twisted
38:10but as far as I can go right now is as
38:12far as you have seen I did make a new
38:15discovery with you this time
38:17uh which was the So Below element
38:21now we know how to kind of navigate a
38:22little bit better it's always easier to
38:24try and use your brain first and really
38:27scan things and hunt them out and look
38:30for Clues and visuals that kind of lead
38:33you to believe there's something there
38:34but when all of that fails
38:36Ctrl a and tab around
38:41and obviously there's more to it than
38:43what we've seen here there are just too
38:45many elements on the outside for us to
38:47view plainly that show there's more and
38:49my only issue at hand is wondering if I
38:51missed anything I scoured it as much as
38:53I could before this video during this
38:56video if it's in there and I couldn't
38:58find it I just couldn't find it welcome
39:01home reminds me a lot of the Moss flower
39:03pictures project we covered last year
39:05except that under the surface it really
39:07is covered in blood and guts now I just
39:10can't wait to see all the blood and guts

39:14gods I'll say this too and throw a rock
39:17where a rock needs throwing it's really
39:20really refreshing to see someone
39:22approach the concept of the kids
39:23friendly mascot character entertainment
39:25product and do it with love and actual
39:28skill you know the heartless garbage
39:31that lets players have to shovel through
39:32in the wake of mascot horror and kids
39:33media horror flooding the scene too much
39:36of it is a transparent attempt to get
39:37big enough that counterfeiters at the
39:39mall rip off their product welcome home
39:41gives me life Welcome Home does It For
39:44the Love of the characters the idea the
39:46story The Darkness and the light and the
39:50way it can be brought to life in front
39:51of us this is what it means to be an
39:53artist with integrity and do something
39:55right that dozens of others around you
39:57are doing so annoyingly wrong I'll
40:00respect unique approaches to expression
40:01of a concept that inspired someone as
40:03long as I can actually see in your
40:05effort that it's coming from a place of
40:08inspiration of the heart and not cartoon
40:10dollar signs in your eyes if mascot and
40:13kids media horror dies within a year let
40:15nobody except the welcome homes of the
40:17world live and Thrive clown the Creator
40:20do this for the love of the art and the
40:22love of its world and that is what sets
40:24him apart
