5. 0:10in starting Kill Team. Oh, yes. And we
6. 0:14have quite the selection behind me. Now,
7. 0:17you're either A, a beginner to the hobby
8. 0:19completely, you've seen the prices of a
9. 0:21lot of 40K, the armies, what you need,
10. 0:24how much you need, and of course the
11. 0:26continuing bits and pieces with 40K,
12. 0:28which we're not here to talk about. Or
13. 0:30B,
14. 0:31you already have, you know, a fair
15. 0:33amount of 40K. You've got lots of
16. 0:35armies, or you have an army you want to
17. 0:36start something new. But again, the
18. 0:38price tag, and of course all the updates
19. 0:41having to paint 2,000 points to get some
20. 0:43decent games in,
21. 0:44it's just a little bit too much. You
22. 0:47like some of the models of Kill Team,
23. 0:48and you think, you know what? I fancy
24. 0:50something a little different. Well,
25. 0:52today I am going to just go through all
26. 0:55the different boxes, options that are
27. 0:57available to you just starting Kill
28. 0:59Team. Just like me, I am new to Kill
29. 1:02Team. I'm on this new journey. And of
30. 1:05course, with that, I thought, you know
31. 1:07what? Let's just get as much as we can,
32. 1:09talk about it. I appreciate the irony of
33. 1:11the cost. Of course, I get that. Do not
34. 1:13worry, this is not lost on me. However,
35. 1:16I want to break down all the stuff that
36. 1:17you're getting, the value of each box,
37. 1:19where to start, what the best points
38. 1:21are, and of course go through all of
39. 1:22these boxes behind me. It's 2026. It is,
40. 1:26as far as I'm concerned, the year of
41. 1:29Kill Team. So, without further ado,
42. 1:31let's have a look at some of these
43. 1:31boxes, what they are, what they
44. 1:33represent, and of course, well, what I
45. 1:36will say before we do get involved and
46. 1:37go down this road, all of this behind
47. 1:40me, which is 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 nine
48. 1:45different factions, rule books, terrain,
49. 1:47boards, and a whole heap of other data
50. 1:50cards,
51. 1:51is less than the average 2,000 points of
52. 1:56any given army in 40K.
53. 1:58Just saying.
54. 2:00Just saying. Anyway,
55. 2:02let's get into it.
56. 2:05So, let's start off with of course the
57. 2:07launch box. Okay, so this was for the
58. 2:10latest edition of Kill Team that came
59. 2:13earlier this year I think it was earlier
60. 2:15this year or last year, I'm not too
61. 2:17sure. Please forgive me. But, for the
62. 2:18latest edition of Kill Team, of course,
63. 2:21you have got
64. 2:22uh Kill Team High Storm. In here, this
65. 2:25is the all singing all dance. This is
66. 2:27all of the big piece terrain that we put
67. 2:29together. This has got the battle mats,
68. 2:31it's got the full core rulebook. Um it's
69. 2:34also got two Kill Teams as well, two
70. 2:36brand new Kill Teams, uh the Tempestus
71. 2:38Scions and of course the Vespid
72. 2:41Stingwings. Those new and really good
73. 2:43looking updated models for the Tau
74. 2:45Auxiliary.
75. 2:47This box, I would say, is incredible
76. 2:49value for money and you can still get
77. 2:51these. Um I bought this off Element
78. 2:54Games. I think they had it at 15 I think
79. 2:56about 15 % off. It retailed at 145 from
80. 2:59Games Workshop, which still represents
81. 3:01incredible value for money and we'll
82. 3:03talk about each bit that's being sold
83. 3:05off individually um and what you'll get
84. 3:06for this. Um I think they had it on
85. 3:08there on on Element Games at £123. I
86. 3:11believe they still have some in stock.
87. 3:13So, if you do want to get some, click on
88. 3:15Element Games uh and and get yourself
89. 3:16some. But, in this box, like I say,
90. 3:18you're getting two brand new Kill Teams.
91. 3:20Um you are getting a really cool uh
92. 3:23terrain set which is all in color grade
93. 3:25in the dossiers and the rulebooks as
94. 3:27well. Really great terrain set and
95. 3:29there's also like accessory bits and
96. 3:30pieces like ladders and caches, you
97. 3:33know, other little bits and pieces that
98. 3:34just add to the cinematic view of your
99. 3:37Kill Team game.
100. 3:39Again, not everyone likes painting
101. 3:41terrain. Okay, it's not for everyone, I
102. 3:43get it. But, in a future time we're
103. 3:44going to go through, you know, as the
104. 3:45series continues for Kill Team, of how
105. 3:47to do quickly some Kill Team terrain to
106. 3:50get yourself playing. But,
107. 3:51realistically, everything you need to
108. 3:53get yourself going is going to be in
109. 3:55this, specifically the the rule book. I
110. 3:57believe the rule book is around about 30
111. 3:58quid. You've then got two kill teams,
112. 4:00but they're usually roughly between 30
113. 4:01and 40. So, we'll call that 80 there for
114. 4:04the two. The terrain set in there, I
115. 4:07believe, retails at Games Workshop at 85
116. 4:09pound. So, we're what are we? 80 80
117. 4:13uh we're going to call that 160 190. Uh
118. 4:16then you've got all of your data cards,
119. 4:17extra bits and pieces in there as well.
120. 4:19So, you're probably looking about a full
121. 4:20set of being around about 200 pounds for
122. 4:23this, and you're getting it at 123 quid.
123. 4:26So, I think that's really really good.
124. 4:27With that, that's everything you need to
125. 4:29get yourself playing a proper full game
126. 4:32of Kill Team, okay? So, 123 quid. There
127. 4:35you go. Good to go. Two kill teams that
128. 4:37you can play. And if you really wanted
129. 4:38to, with the core rule books that you
130. 4:40have in here, you also have a PvP and a
131. 4:43PvE sort of way to play, which means
132. 4:46there's an AI inbuilt system that you
133. 4:48can use to practice using your Kill Team
134. 4:50against an artificial intelligence enemy
135. 4:52that obviously you can control, and it
136. 4:53will like tell you how to use those. So,
137. 4:55that's a great way to learn on your own
138. 4:58if you want to get some like, you know,
139. 4:59all right, playing the game on your own,
140. 5:00but hey, you play on your PlayStation
141. 5:01not by yourself, so who cares? But, you
142. 5:02can set it up at home, use that PvE
143. 5:05mechanic to get to know how your team
144. 5:07works, uh and play and play a game.
145. 5:10That's something I'm really really
146. 5:11interested in, and maybe even do a few
147. 5:13little PvE battle reports, who knows?
148. 5:15But, yes, Kill Team Hive Storm, this is
149. 5:18the the the higher end um of the budget,
150. 5:21but it's going to have everything that
151. 5:23you absolutely need in this box to get
152. 5:26yourself going. All right. So, big
153. 5:28launch box, that's the first one.
154. 5:31Next up, we have, of course, the Kill
155. 5:33Team Starter Set. This is your absolute
156. 5:37entry level into Kill Team. In this box,
157. 5:41you're getting two kill teams, two I'm
158. 5:44not going to say they're new kill teams.
159. 5:46There is a lot of controversies
160. 5:47surrounding these two kill teams as they
161. 5:49were part of the Warhammer Heroes series
162. 5:51that were only available in Japan.
163. 5:53People paid a lot of money to get them
164. 5:54imported here in the UK and now they're
165. 5:56part of the starter box, but that's
166. 5:57another another conversation for another
167. 6:00day. Nevertheless, you are two you are
168. 6:02getting two really awesome kill teams.
169. 6:06Yeah, Space Marines with a great variety
170. 6:08inside and of course the Death Guard as
171. 6:10well. Both of those I'm led to believe
172. 6:13are still quite competitive um within
173. 6:15the tournament series. Um so again,
174. 6:17you're getting two very good teams.
175. 6:19What's great about this set here is
176. 6:22you're going to get your your battle mat
177. 6:23to play on and you're getting your MDF
178. 6:26push fit terrain. Something that I have
179. 6:29been saying for ages Warhammer, sorry,
180. 6:31Games Workshop need to produce for
181. 6:34people to play on. Terrain's really good
182. 6:36and as we talked about in the Hive Storm
183. 6:38set, you are going to get a really
184. 6:40really cool high quality terrain set
185. 6:42that you can paint to your own with your
186. 6:44own imagination.
187. 6:45But with this, you just want to get
188. 6:47this. These are all push fit, pop them
189. 6:49together, get them set up, and start
190. 6:52playing immediately. This set right here
191. 6:55is going to do that. The push fit MDF is
192. 6:59brilliant. Yes, all right, sure, it's
193. 7:01not going to look too fancy, it's not
194. 7:03going to look extravagant, but you know
195. 7:05what? It's some cover, it's the
196. 7:07understanding the basic mechanics of the
197. 7:08game, you can collapse it down, take it
198. 7:10anywhere with you, and you're good to
199. 7:12go. For me, the starter set probably
200. 7:14represents some of the best value, one
201. 7:17of the one of the best value for money
202. 7:19boxes that Games Workshop do. I'm going
203. 7:21to do a whole separate video on value
204. 7:23for money box sets, but the Kill Team
205. 7:24starter set, it retails
206. 7:27at 70 quid. That alone with a a rule
207. 7:30book that you can that you're getting
208. 7:31there, dice, movement markers, your
209. 7:34terrain, your battle board, and two two
210. 7:37two two factions again that are
211. 7:40available in this set. This is for me
212. 7:43fantastic. 70 quid from Games Workshop,
213. 7:46good to go. Two competitive teams,
214. 7:48playable, that's you.
215. 7:50Happy as Larry, away you go. Me,
216. 7:53obviously get some your local friendly
217. 7:54game store,
218. 7:55um Wayland Games, Gecko Gaming, wherever
219. 7:57you want you're going to go to and
220. 7:58you're going to get anything between 15
221. 7:59and 20% off, making it literally like 55
222. 8:0250-55 pounds, which is insane value for
223. 8:06money. If you were going to go and get
224. 8:07into Kill Team and you were wanting to
225. 8:09get into Kill Team, this
226. 8:12right here is the absolute way forward
227. 8:16for me.
228. 8:17This is just represents fantastic value.
229. 8:20So, if you're starting your Kill Team
230. 8:21journey,
231. 8:23the starter set is absolutely where you
232. 8:25need to go. All right? Two really cool
233. 8:27Kill Teams. The MDF push fit alone is
234. 8:29just
235. 8:30so worth it and I really hope Games
236. 8:32Workshop sort that out and bring that to
237. 8:33life. But, yes, Kill Team starter set,
238. 8:37absolutely the way forward. As you can
239. 8:39see here, everything you need to get
240. 8:41yourself playing. Some really cool
241. 8:43miniatures, the push fit terrain, um
242. 8:46an official board, yeah, good to go.
243. 8:51Next up, we have what I would call the
244. 8:53scalper boxes. Yes, the scalper boxes.
245. 8:58These ones are always a nightmare to get
246. 9:00hold of. Why? Because generally 40K
247. 9:04players want to get hold of these for
248. 9:06their armies,
249. 9:08um which means Kill Team players aren't
250. 9:10really getting much of a look in unless
251. 9:12of course they they can get their hands
252. 9:13on one, but generally and I call these
253. 9:15the scalper boxes because I believe this
254. 9:19when it came out was on eBay.
255. 9:22Trust me, I did not buy this on eBay. I
256. 9:24was very lucky Gecko Gaming managed to
257. 9:26secure me one of these.
258. 9:29These were going for double over the
259. 9:32asking price of what they were on eBay,
260. 9:36which is absolutely criminal And we've
261. 9:38spoken about scalpers um before. And we
262. 9:41again we'll probably do another future
263. 9:42video about the about FOMO with Games
264. 9:44Workshop. But yes, the scalper boxes.
265. 9:47Why? Because when these things come out,
266. 9:49generally they're sold out within 5
267. 9:51minutes because they're the latest thing
268. 9:52that people want for their armies, all
269. 9:54brand new models for their armies in
270. 9:5740K, which people love. Um
271. 9:59and scalpers know that, get them
272. 10:02quickly, and put them on eBay for double
273. 10:04almost triple the price, which is
274. 10:06absolutely criminal.
275. 10:09But anyway, inside these boxes usually
276. 10:11like the two latest and new factions
277. 10:14that the Games Workshop announced. And
278. 10:15of course, because they know you want
279. 10:17them, you can't just buy one faction,
280. 10:19can you, in a Kill Team individual box?
281. 10:21No, you have to buy them together.
282. 10:24However, again, if you're looking at new
283. 10:26ways to play or you want uh to try new
284. 10:29factions, this is also quite a a cheaper
285. 10:31way of doing it. You are going to get
286. 10:33two new factions in there.
287. 10:35Uh yeah, so two new factions or two new
288. 10:38uh Kill Teams in that box. Again, 40 35
289. 10:4140 pound each when they go out
290. 10:43individually. Getting all your data
291. 10:45cards, you're also getting the dossiers
292. 10:46as well, which has got your mission
293. 10:47packs uh and different ways that you can
294. 10:50play with these guys uh in there as
295. 10:52well. So again, you are probably saving
296. 10:53a good couple of quid in there. The
297. 10:55problem is getting hold of these can be
298. 10:56difficult because scalpers like to take
299. 10:59advantage of people, which is which is
300. 11:01not very nice. But yes, the uh the
301. 11:03scalper boxes are a really great way to
302. 11:05get some new uh new armies
303. 11:08um or new new Kill Teams in your in your
304. 11:11roster. Uh so yes, Dead Silence,
305. 11:14beautiful box. Got the Wolf Scouts, got
306. 11:16the new uh battle suits in there or the
307. 11:18new stealth suits in there, which just
308. 11:20look really really cool. And the Kill
309. 11:22Teams just seem to be getting better and
310. 11:24better. I noticed with this one,
311. 11:26sometimes they often have scenery with
312. 11:28them. Uh this one doesn't. Um I think
313. 11:30they brought the prices down for that.
314. 11:32But, again, you are getting cool new
315. 11:34miniatures. Uh, and they usually, as
316. 11:36I've been led to believe with the whole
317. 11:37power creep situation, when they bring
318. 11:39these out, these are probably the the
319. 11:40better
320. 11:42the better kill teams than everybody
321. 11:44else. So, yes, there you are. Scalper
322. 11:47boxes.
323. 11:48And, of course,
324. 11:51we have
325. 11:52our individual kill team boxes as well.
326. 11:56Like I say, uh, Games Workshop, they're
327. 11:58going to retail these for anywhere
328. 11:59between 35 and 40 pound each. But,
329. 12:02obviously, you're going to go through
330. 12:03your friendly local gaming store to get
331. 12:04your 10 to 20% discount, uh, just to
332. 12:07kind of help help help with that. But,
333. 12:09the great thing about these is is
334. 12:10twofold. One, they're really really cool
335. 12:13individualistic, um, teams. For me, the
336. 12:16Ork Kommandos are probably still one of
337. 12:18my favorite kill teams just because of
338. 12:21how much fun the designers have had with
339. 12:23these, uh, and they just look awesome.
340. 12:25You've also got like your Veteran
341. 12:26Guardsmen and your Kasrkin. You're
342. 12:28getting loads of different weapon
343. 12:29options available on different loadouts
344. 12:30that you can take. Um, but, obviously,
345. 12:32you know, you've got to be careful how
346. 12:33you're going to load it all up because
347. 12:34you're going to take certain things so
348. 12:36many times within your kill team,
349. 12:38obviously. Um, but, within there, you're
350. 12:40getting a lot of variety. The great
351. 12:41thing as well about these individual
352. 12:43kits is you can use them in your own 40K
353. 12:46army if you if you have them and you
354. 12:47like those. But, again, if you want to
355. 12:49try a new faction out and you want to
356. 12:52play competitively with a new faction
357. 12:54with a new kill team,
358. 12:56it's literally going to cost you no more
359. 12:57than 40 quid.
360. 12:59Build, play, and off you go. Okay,
361. 13:01that's the beauty of it. Again, I've
362. 13:02been led to believe, you know, again, a
363. 13:04good game of Kill Team can take up to 2
364. 13:06hours. So, again, your build time, play
365. 13:09time, all of there, it's 40 quid. You're
366. 13:11not having to spend hundreds and
367. 13:13hundreds of pounds on a whole new army.
368. 13:16The great thing about this is, if you
369. 13:18like the way these kind of play, I'm led
370. 13:21to believe that they're somewhat
371. 13:23somewhat [snorts] transferable over to
372. 13:2640K as well. And, of course, if you want
373. 13:28to build on a very thematic army, you
374. 13:30absolutely can do. But again,
375. 13:33if you're already a Kill Team player or
376. 13:35you're a 40K player and you want to just
377. 13:38kind of like dabble your hand in
378. 13:39something a little bit new,
379. 13:41something like this, you know, you maybe
380. 13:43you like a a certain Kill Team and there
381. 13:45are so many Kill Teams. I I don't
382. 13:46couldn't I think there's at least at
383. 13:47least I think I'm sure
384. 13:49there's at least 15.
385. 13:51Might be about 20. So different 20
386. 13:54different ways to play the game. All
387. 13:55right? So again, I think these are these
388. 13:57are great. They look great.
389. 14:00The Kill Teams have a real nice style to
390. 14:02them. Obviously you have different ways
391. 14:04they're going to play. But again, as
392. 14:05another option to either starting into
393. 14:07Kill Team or getting yourself involved
394. 14:10in Kill Team or of course
395. 14:12you already have Kill Teams and you want
396. 14:13to like kind of boost your 40K army,
397. 14:14fine. But again, your individual packs,
398. 14:17your individual Kill Teams,
399. 14:19they're going to cost you probably about
400. 14:2030 quid going through your local
401. 14:22friendly game store.
402. 14:25Now finally, and a great way to start
403. 14:28your journey into Kill Team before you
404. 14:30even look at buying any of this, okay,
405. 14:34is the Kill Team app. Free to download,
406. 14:37okay, the Kill Team app. Free to
407. 14:39download, sorry if the screen's not that
408. 14:40great on here. Free to download onto
409. 14:42your iPad, phone, tablet, whatever you
410. 14:44want to use. Okay, it's got light rules,
411. 14:47it's got user guides, it's got core
412. 14:48rules updates. And then of course course
413. 14:50you've got all of your factions fully
414. 14:53available as well within there. So let's
415. 14:56just say I want to go to all let's have
416. 14:58a little look here. Angels of Death of
417. 15:00course top of the list. You go to your
418. 15:02Angels of Death and of course inside
419. 15:04there you're going to get your data
420. 15:06cards, your operative selections, your
421. 15:07faction rules,
422. 15:09all
423. 15:10all free.
424. 15:11All free.
425. 15:13Fully available.
426. 15:14All free to use. So you don't have to go
427. 15:18and buy all the big Kill Team stuff if
428. 15:19you don't want to. Okay, you don't want
429. 15:21the the physical stuff in your hand. You
430. 15:24can have it all here, which gets updated
431. 15:26for free. So, before anything, I would
432. 15:29say
433. 15:30download the app first, look at the Kill
434. 15:32Teams that you might like, and then go
435. 15:34from there. If you are interested in it
436. 15:37and you want to start building upon
437. 15:38that, something like the Kill Team
438. 15:41Starter Set, which is going to give you
439. 15:42a mat, it's going to give you some
440. 15:43terrain, two new really cool armies,
441. 15:45dice, and obviously another rule book as
442. 15:47well, is probably the way to go. Then,
443. 15:49of course, start to build from there.
444. 15:51But, genuinely, the Kill Team app is
445. 15:53fantastic. Like you say, it's free, it
446. 15:55gets updated by Games Workshop when they
447. 15:57have updates, when they have the balance
448. 16:00date slate, it all gets updated on the
449. 16:02app at the same at the same time, which
450. 16:04is which is great, which is where we all
451. 16:06want 40K to kind of go, don't we? But, I
452. 16:08get it. I get it, they've only got to
453. 16:10worry about one one Kill Team, so it's
454. 16:11it's fine.
455. 16:13So, yes, Kill Team, where to start 2026.
456. 16:15My recommendation myself, get the app
457. 16:18first. If you've already got um
458. 16:20a Warhammer
459. 16:22account, you don't have to pay for it.
460. 16:24Again, you don't have to pay for it. I
461. 16:26haven't got a Warhammer Plus or anything
462. 16:27like that. I just have the app there.
463. 16:29It's all free, easy to use, easy to
464. 16:31navigate, and it all gets updated. Then,
465. 16:34of course, pick a Kill Team that you
466. 16:35might like. Most people have got dice,
467. 16:37you can buy yourself some cheap dice and
468. 16:38a marker. Um and again, really, it's
469. 16:41just going to be costing you 40 quid,
470. 16:43really. That's kind of your buy-in
471. 16:44entry, 40 quid, that's your entry in for
472. 16:462026 for Kill Team. Or, you can do
473. 16:48either and just go, you know, like we
474. 16:50all do, and just get because we've got
475. 16:52to have it all. Because, God forbid, I
476. 16:53won't paint half of this. I can tell you
477. 16:55that right now. You know it, I know it.
478. 16:57Anyway, that's Kill Team 2026 for me.

480. 17:01going to have lots of stuff going
481. 17:03forward, so I'm really looking forward
482. 17:05to this Kill Team journey with you guys.
