  1. 0:00Coming up, I'm going to share with you
  2. 0:02the number one mistake that app founders
  3. 0:04make when creating their first app and
  4. 0:07the simplest things that you need in
  5. 0:10your app to build a profitable MVP.
  6. 0:15Stay tuned.
  7. 0:21What is up app nation? It is Steve P.
  8. 0:22young founder of appmasters.com
  9. 0:24the place you go when you want
  10. 0:25actionpacked content related to helping
  11. 0:27you grow your app downloads and more
  12. 0:28importantly those revenues and that's
  13. 0:31what we're going to be talking about
  14. 0:32today I'm tired of developers coming to
  15. 0:35me with a perfect app or an amazing app
  16. 0:39one that hasn't been in the market and
  17. 0:42having so much difficulty with
  18. 0:45distribution so I'm creating this video
  19. 0:49for those who are interested in creating
  20. 0:51an app Because with AI, it's getting so
  21. 0:55much easier to create things and harder
  22. 0:58to get distribution and downloads for
  23. 1:00them. So, I'm going to break it down.
  24. 1:02Here are the simplest things that you
  25. 1:03need in your app to be profitable on day
  26. 1:06one. Let's get started. All right, here
  27. 1:10we go. Number one, build one premium
  28. 1:14feature. Too many of you guys are making
  29. 1:17too many features that nobody uses. All
  30. 1:21I want you to do, you know why you built
  31. 1:23this app. So all I want you to do is
  32. 1:26create one premium feature. Do one thing
  33. 1:30really, really well. Don't forget
  34. 1:34Facebook now Meta started out just as a
  35. 1:37social network for Harvard. No status
  36. 1:41updates. Like I think I don't even think
  37. 1:43they had photo sharing, none of this
  38. 1:45stuff. Uber started out as a black car
  39. 1:49in San Francisco where the founder was
  40. 1:53the driver.
  41. 1:55Every big brand that you know started
  42. 1:58off as a tiny little company. But you
  43. 2:02only have to focus on one premium
  44. 2:04feature. Solve one problem. Hopefully a
  45. 2:08problem that a lot of people have and a
  46. 2:11lot of people are willing to pay for.
  47. 2:12All right. even if it's not a lot of
  48. 2:14people, a small group of people are
  49. 2:16willing to pay for. All right, here are
  50. 2:18some apps that have done really well and
  51. 2:20I'm going to link up the full breakdown
  52. 2:23in the YouTube description below, so
  53. 2:25check it out. But Migraine Buddy, all it
  54. 2:28does is track your migraines. The app
  55. 2:31because of the distribution and ranks
  56. 2:33really well for migraine tracker that
  57. 2:35people do search for is making
  58. 2:38approximately $55,000
  59. 2:41a month. Close to a sevenf figureure
  60. 2:43business. Really, really cool. Remote
  61. 2:47for Fire Stick and Fire TV. Here's
  62. 2:49another app. They rank number two for
  63. 2:52Fire TV remote. They're doing 80K.
  64. 2:55That's a seven-figure business by doing
  65. 2:58one thing really well. Focusing on being
  66. 3:02a digital remote on your iPhone for Fire
  67. 3:07TV. All right, here's one of our apps
  68. 3:09and I'm showing you the whole sales.
  69. 3:11Okay, those are big numbers. This is the
  70. 3:13whole sales. So, for the lifetime of
  71. 3:16this app, this is one of our apps called
  72. 3:18Paraphrase AI. We've made over 27,000
  73. 3:22and we're averaging about $3,000 in
  74. 3:25sales. Again, doing one thing really,
  75. 3:27really well that people are willing to
  76. 3:29pay for. All right, so you got the big
  77. 3:31examples and you got the small examples.
  78. 3:33This is how you get to profitability
  79. 3:35really fast. Let me tell you a little
  80. 3:37secret. Most people come to us with a
  81. 3:39fully built product that they think is
  82. 3:42so amazing. And no shade, I'm sure it
  83. 3:44is. But if you want to work with my team
  84. 3:48and our app portfolio team to build the
  85. 3:53what I'm calling MVR, minimum viable
  86. 3:57revenue, right? We're going to help you.
  87. 3:59So rather than you telling us what to
  88. 4:02build, we're going to tell you, hey,
  89. 4:04we're going to try to build your minimum
  90. 4:06viable revenue within a limited budget.
  91. 4:10And so I'm opening the doors so that you
  92. 4:13can work one- on-one with my own app
  93. 4:15portfolio team. And if you're
  94. 4:18interested, just use the link in the
  95. 4:20YouTube description or check out
  96. 4:21appmasters.com.
  97. 4:23All right, now let's get into number
  98. 4:26two. Build a payw wall during the
  99. 4:28onboarding process. Again, my team will
  100. 4:30help you do this, but most users buy
  101. 4:33during the onboarding process. All
  102. 4:36right, this is common knowledge, but if
  103. 4:38you're creating your first app, you
  104. 4:40might not know this. This is common
  105. 4:42knowledge for those in the app space. 60
  106. 4:44to 80% of all the people who buy, they
  107. 4:47buy during the onboarding process. Yes,
  108. 4:50before they even use your app. All
  109. 4:54right, let me give you some examples.
  110. 4:56Here's the same app publisher for the
  111. 4:58Fire TV app. They have another app, the
  112. 5:01Universal TV remote app, right? And
  113. 5:04here's their store listing. You open the
  114. 5:06app, here's the first page, here's the
  115. 5:09payw wall. That's it. That's all they
  116. 5:12have. And the app makes over $375,000
  117. 5:17according to app figures by doing a few
  118. 5:20things really well. Now, obviously, they
  119. 5:22have to support all these TV brands,
  120. 5:24Google, Roku, LG, Samsung, Fire TV, and
  121. 5:27so forth. But all they are is a TV
  122. 5:30remote. That's it. Distribution matters
  123. 5:33more than your features. All right,
  124. 5:35distribution matters the most. In fact,
  125. 5:38I've seen app developers create one app
  126. 5:42for LG, one app for Samsung, one app for
  127. 5:44Roku, one app for Sony, and so forth.
  128. 5:47All right, I've seen their accounts. I
  129. 5:49won't put them on blast, but I've seen
  130. 5:50their accounts. They just focus on a
  131. 5:52specific brand. And when you look at
  132. 5:54their app developer profile, you'll see
  133. 5:58remote controls for all these different
  134. 6:00types of companies and brands. Right.
  135. 6:02Here's from App Magic. One of our
  136. 6:04favorite tools to use. The sales for
  137. 6:06that app is about $200,000
  138. 6:09a month. A month, by the way. All right.
  139. 6:12So, kudos to this craft work, guys.
  140. 6:16All right. Next, and the most important
  141. 6:19thing instead of your features is
  142. 6:23distribution. Distribution matters so
  143. 6:27much. I'm going to break down the simple
  144. 6:29distribution path that you can use to
  145. 6:32start generating revenues for your app.
  146. 6:34Here it is. It's simple. Take a
  147. 6:36screenshot right now cuz this works. I
  148. 6:38do it with all my apps. I do it with a
  149. 6:40lot of client apps. I've seen apps
  150. 6:42making half a million a year purely
  151. 6:45relying on ASO and Apple ads. What used
  152. 6:49to be Apple search ads. That's it. Okay.
  153. 6:52So, just these two alone can get you
  154. 6:54very very far. just those two alone.
  155. 6:57Now, other people have said obviously
  156. 7:00organic social media that's going viral
  157. 7:02on social media leading to those
  158. 7:04downloads. I'm not an expert in that,
  159. 7:07but we have a ton of videos on that if
  160. 7:09you guys want to check that out. And
  161. 7:10then other people have done lifetime
  162. 7:12free Reddit marketing. You don't need
  163. 7:14any of these three and four. If you're
  164. 7:15an expert at three organic social media,
  165. 7:18go ahead and do that. But I'm an expert
  166. 7:19in one and two, so that's what I'm going
  167. 7:21to focus on as well. And if you want
  168. 7:24more case studies of apps that have done
  169. 7:26really, really well using the
  170. 7:29distribution first mindset, I've got a
  171. 7:32video on that and I'll link that into
  172. 7:34the show notes as well so that you can
  173. 7:35check it out. But it really breaks down
  174. 7:38how using just a few of these variables,
  175. 7:42just a few channels in the early days
  176. 7:44can get you to profit right away.
  177. 7:47Whether it's just ASO, whether it's just
  178. 7:49Apple ads, whether it's organic social
  179. 7:51media, you can do wonders with just
  180. 7:53that. And so rather than you figuring
  181. 7:56out what next feature to build, think
  182. 7:58about what next distribution channel you
  183. 8:01should test. Okay? If you're not an
  184. 8:04expert in any one of those things, I
  185. 8:06would then study that. Stop thinking
  186. 8:08about what new features you want to
  187. 8:10build and start thinking about what
  188. 8:12distribution channels you need to learn
  189. 8:15and execute and test on. That's what I
  190. 8:17would be doing. All right. Again, if you
  191. 8:20want access to our entire app portfolio
  192. 8:24team, amazing UX UI folks, amazing
  193. 8:28developers, we have a couple of
  194. 8:30developers on our team, a couple of UIUX
  195. 8:32developers, and we're going to help you
  196. 8:35decide what features to build along with
  197. 8:38the go-to market strategy. We're going
  198. 8:41to open this up to a few select people
  199. 8:43just to beta test this. If you're
  200. 8:45interested, use that link in the YouTube
  201. 8:47description and schedule a call with us.
  202. 8:50We'll help you figure it out. But what
  203. 8:51we're promising you is we're limiting
  204. 8:53you on the budget. We're not going to
  205. 8:55quote you. You'll have a limited budget
  206. 8:58that you can spend with us to get you to
  207. 9:01your first minimum viable revenue.
  208. 9:04Right? Let's make that money first, then
  209. 9:07start building on top of that. I just
  210. 9:09showed you a few apps. I've got many
  211. 9:11more in our portfolio that are doing
  212. 9:13much better than a few of our clients
  213. 9:15who spent 30 $40,000 on an app and I
  214. 9:19spent maybe a weekend building this app
  215. 9:23via my team by the way, but now it's
  216. 9:25generating revenues. And so for us, it's
  217. 9:28about testing out different ideas and
  218. 9:30finding the right app that we can scale
  219. 9:33using the portfolio approach. But for
  220. 9:35you, I want you to not spend $30,000 on
  221. 9:40an app on creating an app. I rather you
  222. 9:42spent that on possibly trying to grow
  223. 9:44that app versus creating it. Creating is
  224. 9:47easy. We're going to help you build the
  225. 9:49right app from the very start versus
  226. 9:52building your app and then coming to us
  227. 9:54where we have to change a lot from the
  228. 9:56payw wall, from the onboarding, from the
  229. 9:58ASO and so forth. It's just too much
  230. 9:59work for us. I was like, well, let's
  231. 10:01just do it from the very jump. Let's
  232. 10:03just help these app founders from the
  233. 10:05very beginning in making sure they build
  234. 10:08the right things the right way from the
  235. 10:11very start and constrain their budget so
  236. 10:16they have a bit more budget for the
  237. 10:18marketing versus spending it all on the
  238. 10:22development backwards opinion. That's
  239. 10:24why we're opening it up. All right,
  240. 10:26check us out atmasters.com and I'll see
  241. 10:28you on the next video.
