Want Spiritual Power? Never Start Your Morning Without This | E.W. Kenyon — Transcript

- 0:01The house may be quiet when you wake up
- 0:03in the morning.
- 0:04The sun has not yet filled the room.
- 0:06The world has not yet asked anything
- 0:08from you. There are no phone calls, no
- 0:10errands, no noise. It is just you and
- 0:13another day that God has placed gently
- 0:15into your hands. For what happens in
- 0:17those first moments may determine more
- 0:19than you realize.
- 0:20Many believers spend their lives asking
- 0:23God for more spiritual power while
- 0:25giving him the last few minutes of their
- 0:27day. They wonder why they feel weary and
- 0:29spiritless. They wonder why fear speaks
- 0:32louder than faith. They wonder why peace
- 0:34seems to come and go like the wind.
- 0:37But what if I told you that spiritual
- 0:38power is not something God is hiding
- 0:40from you? What if it begins with
- 0:42something so simple that many have
- 0:44overlooked it for years?
- 0:46What if it begins before breakfast,
- 0:48before the news,
- 0:50before the worries of life find their
- 0:51way into your thoughts?
- 0:53There is something holy about the
- 0:54morning.
- 0:56Before the world has spoken its first
- 0:57word to you,
- 0:59God is waiting to speak his word into
- 1:01your heart. He is not waiting with
- 1:03disappointment. He is not standing there
- 1:05to remind you of yesterday's failures.
- 1:08He is waiting like a loving father who
- 1:10delights in his children. He simply
- 1:12desires fellowship with you.
- 1:14Many Christians think spiritual power
- 1:16belongs only to great men and women of
- 1:18faith. They read stories of believers
- 1:20who changed lives, prayed with
- 1:22confidence, and walked in great peace.
- 1:24And they quietly say to themselves, that
- 1:26could never be me.
- 1:28My dear friend, that is simply not true.
- 1:31Spiritual power was never meant for a
- 1:32chosen few. It was never reserved for
- 1:35pastors, missionaries, or Bible
- 1:37teachers.
- 1:38For God has always desired that every
- 1:40one of his children would walk closely
- 1:42with him. The greatest tragedy is not
- 1:44that Christians lack God's love.
- 1:47It is that many have never learned how
- 1:48to begin their day with him.
- 1:50You see, every morning someone will
- 1:52disciple your heart. Either the world
- 1:54will speak first, or God will.
- 1:57Either fear will enter first or faith
- 1:59will. Either your circumstances will
- 2:01become greater in your eyes or your
- 2:03heavenly father will become greater. For
- 2:06many people, the very first thing they
- 2:08do each morning is reach for their
- 2:09phone.
- 2:11Before they have spoken to God, they
- 2:13have listened to the world. Before they
- 2:15have thanked him for another day of
- 2:17life, they have already begun carrying
- 2:19the burdens of the day ahead.
- 2:22Their minds become crowded before their
- 2:23spirits have had an opportunity to
- 2:25breathe.
- 2:26Then they wonder why peace feels so
- 2:28distant.
- 2:29I have learned something through the
- 2:30years. You cannot fill your mind with
- 2:33worry and expect your spirit to remain
- 2:35strong. Well, your spirit was created
- 2:37for fellowship with God. Just as your
- 2:39body needs food each day, your spirit
- 2:42needs his presence.
- 2:43Some believers have prayed for spiritual
- 2:45power for 40 years while neglecting the
- 2:48simple habits that produce it. They have
- 2:50waited for God to suddenly change them
- 2:52when God has been lovingly inviting them
- 2:54every morning to simply sit with him.
- 2:57Spiritual power is not always loud.
- 3:00Sometimes it looks like a quiet believer
- 3:02sitting beside their bed before sunrise
- 3:04whispering, "Father,
- 3:06thank you for another day."
- 3:08Sometimes it sounds like an elderly
- 3:10saint opening their Bible with trembling
- 3:12hands and reading only a few verses with
- 3:14great love in their heart. Sometimes it
- 3:17is nothing more than sitting quietly
- 3:18before God and saying, "Lord, I belong
- 3:21to you today."
- 3:22Never underestimate the power of small
- 3:24beginnings.
- 3:26We live in a generation that loves big
- 3:27moments. We want powerful experiences
- 3:29and dramatic stories. Yet throughout
- 3:32scripture, we continually find God
- 3:33working through what seems small. A seed
- 3:36becomes a tree. A shepherd becomes a
- 3:37king. Five loaves feed thousands. Well,
- 3:40God delights in beginning with simple
- 3:42things. Your morning may become one of
- 3:45those simple things that God uses to
- 3:47transform your life. Some of you
- 3:49listening today have faithfully walked
- 3:51with Jesus for many years. Your hair has
- 3:54turned gray. Your steps may have slowed
- 3:56a little.
- 3:57You have known both victories and
- 3:59sorrows.
- 4:00Perhaps you have buried loved ones.
- 4:02Perhaps there are prayers you have
- 4:03carried for decades. Full. Perhaps there
- 4:06are mornings when getting out of bed
- 4:07requires more strength than it once did.
- 4:10Please hear me carefully. Full.
- 4:12God has not finished speaking to your
- 4:14heart simply because you have grown
- 4:16older.
- 4:17There is no retirement from fellowship
- 4:19with him. Full. I believe some of the
- 4:21sweetest years of walking with God are
- 4:22often found in the later seasons of
- 4:24life. Why?
- 4:27Because there is something beautiful
- 4:28about a heart that has learned that God
- 4:30is faithful through every season. Full.
- 4:33Do not allow the enemy to whisper that
- 4:35your greatest days with God are behind
- 4:37you. The Holy Spirit does not grow weary
- 4:39of meeting with his children. Full. His
- 4:42mercies are still new every morning.
- 4:44Not occasionally. Not only when we feel
- 4:46worthy. Every morning. There are
- 4:48mornings when you may not feel spiritual
- 4:50at all. Your mind may be distracted.
- 4:53Your body may feel tired. Your emotions
- 4:55may feel heavy. Come to him anyway.
- 4:57Do not wait until you feel powerful
- 4:59before you seek God.
- 5:01Full. Seek him and he will strengthen
- 5:02you. Some people have made prayer seem
- 5:04complicated.
- 5:06Others have made fellowship with God
- 5:08feel difficult. Full. But I want to tell
- 5:10you something precious today. Your
- 5:12heavenly Father is not asking for
- 5:14perfection when you come before him in
- 5:16the morning. He is asking for you. Full.
- 5:18He is not measuring how eloquently you
- 5:20pray. He is not counting how many
- 5:23chapters you read before breakfast. He
- 5:25desires your heart more than your
- 5:26performance. Perhaps your prayer is only
- 5:2930 seconds long. Perhaps all you can say
- 5:32is Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me.
- 5:34Walk with me today.
- 5:36Heaven hears that prayer. Full. Perhaps
- 5:38you open your Bible and read only a few
- 5:40verses before quietly thinking about
- 5:42them throughout your day.
- 5:44Heaven delights in that fellowship.
- 5:46Full. Never make the mistake of
- 5:47believing that God is impressed by what
- 5:49impresses men. He is moved by faith, by
- 5:52love, and by hearts that simply desire
- 5:54him.
- 5:55And I wonder how different our days
- 5:57would become if before we spoke to
- 5:59anyone else, we simply gave God the
- 6:01first moments of our morning before fear
- 6:04has an opportunity to speak, before
- 6:06yesterday's disappointments return to
- 6:08our thoughts, before tomorrow's worries
- 6:10steal today's peace. Full.
- 6:12Because there is something that happens
- 6:14when God speaks first into your day that
- 6:16many believers have never discovered,
- 6:19and it changes far more than your
- 6:20mornings.
- 6:22It begins changing how you think, how
- 6:24you pray, how you speak, and even how
- 6:26you face the battles that once seemed
- 6:28impossible to overcome.
- 6:30And perhaps that is where we must begin
- 6:32before we ever speak about spiritual
- 6:34power itself.
- 6:35Because there is a secret hidden in
- 6:37those first moments after you open your
- 6:39eyes each morning that many believers
- 6:42have spent their entire lives missing.
- 6:44Well, there is a reason the enemy fights
- 6:46so hard for your mornings. He
- 6:48understands something that many
- 6:49believers have forgotten.
- 6:52He knows that whatever fills your heart
- 6:53first often follows you throughout the
- 6:55day.
- 6:56If he can fill your mind with worry
- 6:58before faith speaks, he has already
- 7:00gained ground. If he can fill your
- 7:03thoughts with fear before God's promises
- 7:05enter your heart, he knows your prayers
- 7:07will become weaker.
- 7:09Your peace will become smaller and your
- 7:11joy will become quieter.
- 7:13Have you ever noticed how one thought
- 7:14can shape an entire day? You wake up
- 7:17discouraged,
- 7:18and before noon everything feels heavy.
- 7:21But have you also noticed that when your
- 7:23heart is filled with God's peace in the
- 7:25morning, well, difficult moments do not
- 7:27shake you quite as easily. That is not
- 7:29an accident. What enters first matters.
- 7:31Many years ago,
- 7:33I began noticing something beautiful
- 7:34about mature believers.
- 7:36It was not their knowledge that
- 7:37impressed me most. It was their peace.
- 7:41There was something settled about them.
- 7:43Life had wounded them, but it had not
- 7:45hardened them.
- 7:46They had known loss, but they still
- 7:47carried joy.
- 7:49They had walked through difficult
- 7:50valleys, but their eyes remained fixed
- 7:53upon the goodness of God.
- 7:55I would often wonder what made the
- 7:56difference.
- 7:58Then I discovered something simple.
- 8:00They had learned to guard their
- 8:01fellowship with God.
- 8:03They were not hurried people when it
- 8:05came to his presence.
- 8:07They knew that before they could give
- 8:08anything to the world, they must first
- 8:10receive something from him.
- 8:12Their mornings belonged to God. My dear
- 8:14friend,
- 8:15spiritual power does not begin when you
- 8:18stand before a mountain and command it
- 8:19to move.
- 8:21It begins when you quietly bow your
- 8:23heart before your father when no one
- 8:24else is watching.
- 8:26The greatest victories are often
- 8:28prepared in the quietest moments. We
- 8:30love public testimonies, but God often
- 8:32does his deepest work in private places.
- 8:34Before David stood before Goliath, he
- 8:37walked faithfully with God in lonely
- 8:38fields.
- 8:40Before anyone saw his victory, God saw
- 8:41his fellowship. Do not despise quiet
- 8:44mornings with God. Heaven does not.
- 8:46Sometimes we imagine spiritual power as
- 8:48something dramatic. We imagine powerful
- 8:51prayers and extraordinary moments.
- 8:53But often spiritual power looks much
- 8:55simpler than we expected. It looks like
- 8:57opening your Bible while the coffee is
- 8:59still warm.
- 9:01It looks like thanking God for another
- 9:02sunrise. It looks like speaking his
- 9:05promises softly over your family.
- 9:07It looks like sitting quietly when you
- 9:09do not know what to pray and simply
- 9:11whispering, "Father, I am here." That is
- 9:14where strength begins.
- 9:15I know there are some listening to me
- 9:17who feel disappointed with themselves.
- 9:19You have started morning routines
- 9:21before.
- 9:22You have made promises to God before.
- 9:25Perhaps you kept them for a few days or
- 9:26a few weeks, but life became busy and
- 9:29slowly those moments disappeared again.
- 9:31Please do not allow guilt to speak
- 9:33louder than grace. God is not waiting to
- 9:36remind you how many times you failed
- 9:38yesterday. He is inviting you again
- 9:40today. Isn't that beautiful? His
- 9:42invitation is always fresh. He does not
- 9:44say, "You should have come yesterday."
- 9:47He simply says,
- 9:48"Come now."
- 9:49Sometimes we are harder on ourselves
- 9:51than God is. We imagine him standing far
- 9:53away when all along he has been standing
- 9:55very near.
- 9:57We imagine disappointment in his voice
- 9:59when there is only love.
- 10:00We imagine that we must somehow earn our
- 10:02way back into his presence when Jesus
- 10:05has already made the way for us.
- 10:07Never forget that God delights in
- 10:09spending time with his children.
- 10:11Think about that for just a moment.
- 10:13The creator of heaven and earth desires
- 10:15fellowship with you,
- 10:17not because of what you have
- 10:18accomplished, not because you prayed
- 10:20perfectly yesterday. He desires you
- 10:22because you are his.
- 10:24There are mornings when you may feel
- 10:26weak. Come anyway. There are mornings
- 10:28when you feel joyful. Come anyway.
- 10:30There are mornings when your prayers
- 10:32feel powerful. Come anyway. There are
- 10:35mornings when all you can offer him is
- 10:36your tired and weary heart. Come anyway.
- 10:40Well, never let your feelings decide
- 10:41whether or not you will meet with God.
- 10:43Feelings are wonderful servants, but
- 10:45they make poor masters.
- 10:48Some of the sweetest moments you will
- 10:49ever experience with God will happen on
- 10:52ordinary mornings that seemed
- 10:53unimportant when they began. You may
- 10:56never know how one quiet prayer changes
- 10:58an entire day.
- 10:59You may never realize how one verse
- 11:01hidden in your heart becomes the very
- 11:03strength you need later that afternoon.
- 11:06Perhaps the peace that carries you
- 11:07through tomorrow's trial is being
- 11:09planted during today's fellowship with
- 11:11him.
- 11:12God always works deeper than we can see.
- 11:15I often think about how quickly we
- 11:17prepare for important moments in life.
- 11:19We prepare for meetings. We prepare for
- 11:21appointments.
- 11:23We prepare for family gatherings and
- 11:24celebrations. Yet sometimes we walk into
- 11:27an entire day without preparing our
- 11:29hearts. We prepare our calendars but
- 11:31neglect our spirits. No wonder so many
- 11:34believers feel spiritually exhausted. We
- 11:36were never created to carry life's
- 11:38burdens without first learning to rest
- 11:40in his presence. You do not need another
- 11:42complicated formula.
- 11:44You do not need 12 difficult steps to
- 11:46become spiritually powerful. Sometimes
- 11:49the greatest truths are also the
- 11:50simplest ones. Give God your first
- 11:52moments. Before the world speaks, let
- 11:55him speak. Before fear speaks, let faith
- 11:58speak. Before your circumstances speak,
- 11:59let his promises speak. Sit quietly if
- 12:02you must. Open his word slowly if you
- 12:04must. Pray softly if you must, but give
- 12:07him those first moments. Little by
- 12:09little, something beautiful begins to
- 12:11happen. Your mind becomes quieter. Your
- 12:13faith becomes stronger. Your prayers
- 12:16become more confident. The things that
- 12:18once troubled you lose some of their
- 12:19power over your heart.
- 12:21And then one day you realize that God
- 12:24has been doing something much deeper
- 12:26than changing your mornings. He has been
- 12:28changing you. People may not immediately
- 12:31notice it, but they will eventually see
- 12:33it upon your face. They will hear it in
- 12:35your words. They will feel it in your
- 12:37presence.
- 12:39There will be a peace about you that
- 12:40cannot be explained by circumstances
- 12:42alone. And what began as a few quiet
- 12:45moments each morning will slowly become
- 12:47something precious that you cannot
- 12:49imagine beginning your day without.
- 12:52Because there is another beautiful truth
- 12:54about spiritual power that most
- 12:56Christians never discover until they
- 12:58learn what it truly means to give God
- 13:00not only the first moments of their day,
- 13:03but also the first place within their
- 13:05hearts. You see, there is a difference
- 13:07between giving God a few moments and
- 13:09giving him first place. For many
- 13:12believers do the first, but never learn
- 13:14the second. We can pray in the morning
- 13:16and still carry the world in our hearts
- 13:18all day long. We can read a chapter from
- 13:21our Bible and still allow fear to have
- 13:22the loudest voice in our minds.
- 13:25God desires something far more beautiful
- 13:27than a religious habit. He desires a
- 13:30relationship that follows you wherever
- 13:32you go. He never intended for you to
- 13:34leave him in your prayer chair when you
- 13:36begin your day.
- 13:38He desires to walk with you into your
- 13:40kitchen,
- 13:41into your workplace, into your doctor's
- 13:43appointment, into your moments of joy
- 13:45and your moments of uncertainty.
- 13:47Fellowship with God was never meant to
- 13:49last for 15 minutes in the morning.
- 13:52It was meant to become the atmosphere of
- 13:54your life.
- 13:55That is why your mornings matter so
- 13:56much. They are not the destination. They
- 13:59are the beginning. When you give him
- 14:01your first moments each day, you are
- 14:03quietly saying, "Father, before I belong
- 14:06to this world today, I belong to you."
- 14:09There is something powerful about that
- 14:10surrender. I am concerned for many
- 14:12believers today, not because they do not
- 14:15love God, but because they have become
- 14:16spiritually distracted. We live in noisy
- 14:19times.
- 14:21Every voice is demanding our attention.
- 14:23Every day the world tells us what we
- 14:25should fear, what we should worry about,
- 14:28and what should trouble our hearts
- 14:29tomorrow. And slowly, without even
- 14:32realizing it, many Christians have
- 14:34become more familiar with the world's
- 14:36voice than they are with the voice of
- 14:38their heavenly Father. That should
- 14:40concern us. There was a time when many
- 14:42believers carried God's promises in
- 14:44their hearts throughout the day.
- 14:46Today, many carry their anxieties
- 14:48instead. There was a time when they
- 14:50would wake expecting God's faithfulness.
- 14:53Today, many wake expecting another
- 14:55difficult day before they have even
- 14:57placed their feet upon the floor.
- 14:59My dear friend,
- 15:01do not allow fear to become your morning
- 15:02companion. Let God be the first voice
- 15:05that welcomes you into a new day.
- 15:07When you wake tomorrow morning,
- 15:09before you remember yesterday's
- 15:10disappointments, remember his
- 15:12faithfulness.
- 15:13Before you think about everything that
- 15:15remains undone, remember that his
- 15:17mercies are new once again. Do not say,
- 15:19"I am too old to grow spiritually."
- 15:22Abraham was called later in life. For
- 15:24Moses began one of the greatest
- 15:26assignments of his life at 80 years old.
- 15:29God is not measuring your usefulness by
- 15:31the number of candles upon your birthday
- 15:33cake. For as long as there is breath
- 15:35within you, there is still fellowship
- 15:37waiting for you. There are treasures in
- 15:40God's presence that some believers never
- 15:42discover because they stopped seeking
- 15:44too soon. Do not stop now.
- 15:47Some of you have walked with God for
- 15:48decades, but I want to lovingly tell you
- 15:50something.
- 15:52There is still more of his peace for you
- 15:53to experience.
- 15:55There is still more joy to discover.
- 15:57There is still more confidence in prayer
- 15:59waiting to become part of your daily
- 16:01life.
- 16:02And for some listening today, for
- 16:04perhaps this message feels like a gentle
- 16:06invitation home. You have loved the
- 16:08Lord, but life has become crowded. Your
- 16:11Bible has gathered more dust than
- 16:12fingerprints.
- 16:14Prayer has become shorter than you
- 16:15intended.
- 16:16Your mornings belong to everyone else
- 16:18except God. Please hear my heart when I
- 16:20say this.
- 16:22There is no condemnation waiting for you
- 16:24in his presence. Only open arms. You do
- 16:26not have to explain your absence to him.
- 16:28For you simply have to come start
- 16:30tomorrow morning.
- 16:31Not next month. Not when life becomes
- 16:34easier. Not when you feel more spiritual
- 16:36than you do today.
- 16:37Tomorrow morning, before the world
- 16:39places its burdens upon your shoulders,
- 16:42place your heart into his hands. Sit
- 16:44quietly if that is all you can do.
- 16:46Whisper his name if that is where you
- 16:48must begin.
- 16:49Open his word even if you can only read
- 16:51a few verses. He is not asking for
- 16:53perfection. He is asking for fellowship.
- 16:56And when God truly becomes first within
- 16:58your heart, something begins to happen
- 17:00that reaches far beyond peace and
- 17:02comfort.
- 17:03Because there is a kind of spiritual
- 17:05authority that quietly grows in
- 17:07believers who have learned not only to
- 17:09seek him early,
- 17:11but to remain close enough to recognize
- 17:13when he is speaking.
- 17:14There There some things that quietly
- 17:16steal our spiritual strength. And we do
- 17:19not always recognize them when they
- 17:20first arrive.
- 17:22They do not come knocking loudly at our
- 17:23door.
- 17:25They simply settle into our hearts a
- 17:26little at a time.
- 17:28Unforgiveness is one of them. A wounded
- 17:30heart can still sing hymns on Sunday and
- 17:32yet feel far from peace on Monday
- 17:34morning. You can love God deeply and
- 17:36still carry hurts that he never asked
- 17:38you to carry alone.
- 17:40Some of you listening today have carried
- 17:42pain for years. You remember every word
- 17:45that was spoken. You remember every
- 17:47disappointment. You remember who left,
- 17:49who betrayed you, and who failed you.
- 17:52And I know forgiveness is not always
- 17:53easy. Sometimes the deepest wounds come
- 17:56from the people we love the most.
- 17:58But my dear friend, please hear me
- 18:00carefully. God never asked you to become
- 18:02a prison for yesterday's pain.
- 18:05He never intended for bitterness to
- 18:07become your closest companion in the
- 18:08later years of your life.
- 18:11The person who hurt you may have
- 18:12forgotten what happened long ago. But
- 18:14your heart continues to carry what God
- 18:16desires to heal. Forgiveness is not
- 18:19pretending that nothing happened. It is
- 18:21placing your pain into God's hands and
- 18:23saying, "Father, for I trust you more
- 18:25than I trust my own understanding.
- 18:27Sometimes forgiveness must become a
- 18:29daily prayer. Lord, I choose to forgive
- 18:32again today."
- 18:33Do not wait until your feelings agree
- 18:35with your obedience.
- 18:37Feelings often follow where faith has
- 18:38already gone. There are also some
- 18:41listening today who have become
- 18:42discouraged with themselves. You love
- 18:45the Lord, but if you are honest, you are
- 18:47tired.
- 18:48Perhaps you have prayed the same prayer
- 18:50for years.
- 18:51Perhaps there are battles you thought
- 18:53would have ended by now. Perhaps you
- 18:55look at your own spiritual life and
- 18:57quietly wonder why you still struggle in
- 18:59certain places.
- 19:01Please stop speaking to yourself more
- 19:03harshly than God speaks to you.
- 19:05The enemy loves to remind us of where we
- 19:07have failed. The Holy Spirit lovingly
- 19:09reminds us where we may return. There is
- 19:12a great difference between condemnation
- 19:14and conviction. One pushes you away from
- 19:16God.
- 19:17The other gently draws you closer. If
- 19:19you feel his loving conviction today, do
- 19:21not run from it. Run toward him.
- 19:24Repentance is one of God's greatest
- 19:26gifts to his children.
- 19:27It is not something we should fear.
- 19:30It is simply turning our hearts back
- 19:31toward the one who has loved us from the
- 19:33beginning.
- 19:35Perhaps repentance for you is not
- 19:36turning away from some great outward
- 19:38sin. Perhaps it is much quieter than
- 19:40that.
- 19:41Perhaps you simply need to repent of
- 19:43worry.
- 19:44You have carried tomorrow's troubles for
- 19:46so long that you no longer know what it
- 19:48feels like to rest. So, perhaps you need
- 19:51to repent of allowing fear to become
- 19:53more believable than God's promises.
- 19:55Perhaps you need to repent of believing
- 19:57that your best days with God are already
- 19:59behind you. Or perhaps you need to
- 20:02repent of giving God what remains of
- 20:03your day instead of giving him your
- 20:05first and your best.
- 20:08Do not allow pride to keep you from
- 20:09simple repentance. There is something
- 20:12beautiful that happens when we humble
- 20:14ourselves before God.
- 20:15We discover that his mercy has always
- 20:17been waiting for us. He is far kinder
- 20:19than we imagine him to be.
- 20:21I wish every believer could truly
- 20:23understand how deeply they are loved by
- 20:25their heavenly Father. So many spend
- 20:28their lives trying to earn what he
- 20:29freely desires to give. They serve him
- 20:32faithfully. Yet secretly wonder if they
- 20:34have disappointed him one time too many.
- 20:37My dear friend, if you belong to Jesus,
- 20:39then hear these words and hold them
- 20:41close to your heart. He has not grown
- 20:43weary of you.
- 20:45He has not become tired of hearing your
- 20:47voice in prayer. He has not closed the
- 20:49door to his presence. His invitation
- 20:51remains the same today. Come closer.
- 20:54Trust him a little more tomorrow than
- 20:55you did today.
- 20:57Forgive a little more freely than you
- 20:58did yesterday.
- 21:00Worry a little less than you did last
- 21:02week. Open his word a little more often
- 21:04than you did before. Walk with him a
- 21:07little more closely than you once
- 21:08thought possible. Do not underestimate
- 21:11what God can do with an ordinary
- 21:12believer who simply chooses to remain
- 21:15near him day after day. Well, mountains
- 21:17are not always moved in a single moment.
- 21:19Sometimes God changes a life quietly,
- 21:21faithfully,
- 21:22and beautifully through thousands of
- 21:24ordinary mornings spent in his presence.
- 21:27And there is something else that begins
- 21:29to happen when a believer learns to
- 21:30trust God not only with their prayers,
- 21:34but with their fears, their future, for
- 21:36their failures, and even the hidden
- 21:38places of their heart because they
- 21:40slowly discover that spiritual power is
- 21:42not first about what God does through
- 21:44them, but about what he lovingly desires
- 21:47to do within them when they finally
- 21:48become still enough to let him speak.
- 21:51My dear friend,
- 21:53if there is one thing I hope you carry
- 21:54with you after hearing these words, it
- 21:56is this, God is not far away from you.
- 21:59He has never been far away.
- 22:01Even in the seasons when you felt
- 22:03distant from him, he remained near. Even
- 22:05when your prayers felt weak, he was
- 22:07listening.
- 22:08Even when your faith felt small,
- 22:10his faithfulness remained great. Do not
- 22:13spend another day believing that
- 22:14spiritual power belongs to someone else.
- 22:17It belongs to the child of God who
- 22:19simply learns to walk closely with their
- 22:21father.
- 22:22Never forget that God is not asking you
- 22:24to become someone else. He is asking you
- 22:26to come as you are and allow him to
- 22:28shape who you are becoming.
- 22:30Tomorrow morning is not just another
- 22:32morning. It is another invitation.
- 22:35When you open your eyes, remember that
- 22:36his mercies are waiting for you. Before
- 22:39you speak to the world, speak to him.
- 22:41Before you carry your burdens, place
- 22:44them into his hands. Before you listen
- 22:46to your fears, listen to his promises.
- 22:48Do not make your mornings complicated.
- 22:50Keep them simple. Keep them sacred. God,
- 22:53thank him for another day. Open his
- 22:55word. Speak to him honestly. Sit quietly
- 22:57if you need to. And stay there long
- 22:59enough to remember whose you are. Years
- 23:02from now,
- 23:03no one may remember the busy days that
- 23:05filled your calendar,
- 23:07but heaven remembers every quiet moment
- 23:09of fellowship you shared with your
- 23:10father.
- 23:11No prayer has ever been wasted. No tear
- 23:14has ever been ignored. No morning
- 23:16surrendered to God has ever been
- 23:17meaningless.
- 23:19Some of you listening today have walked
- 23:20with God for 50 or 60 years. Others may
- 23:23feel as though they are only now
- 23:25learning how to truly walk with him. Do
- 23:27not stop. Keep coming closer. Keep
- 23:30trusting him.
- 23:31Keep forgiving.
- 23:33Keep believing. Keep opening your Bible.
- 23:35Keep speaking his promises over your
- 23:37life and over those you love.
- 23:39And when difficult days come, because
- 23:41they will come,
- 23:43remember that the strength you need
- 23:44tomorrow is often found in the
- 23:46fellowship you cultivate today. The
- 23:48greatest treasure of the Christian life
- 23:50is not merely receiving blessings from
- 23:52God. It is knowing him,
- 23:54walking with him,
- 23:56hearing his gentle voice throughout the
- 23:57ordinary moments of life. So, when
- 23:59tomorrow morning comes,
- 24:01do not begin your day alone when heaven
- 24:03is waiting to walk beside you.
- 24:05Give him your first thoughts. Give him
- 24:07your first words.
- 24:09Give him your first moments. And little
- 24:11by little, day after day, you will
- 24:13discover that what you were seeking was
- 24:15never merely spiritual power.
- 24:17It was his presence all along.
- 24:20And when his presence becomes the
- 24:21greatest desire of your heart, you will
- 24:23find that the quiet believer who begins
- 24:26each morning with God possesses a
- 24:27strength this world can never give and
- 24:30can never take away.
