- 0:08Good morning. If you want to learn
- 0:11simplicity, then learn from Bung Hatta.
- 0:15Until the end of his life, Bung Hatta
- 0:18lived a simple life. Bung Hatta refused
- 0:21to worship excessive pleasures, nor did
- 0:23he want to use money that was not his
- 0:26right. Bung Hatta taught that being a
- 0:29man of honor does not have to be rich.
- 0:33Hatta also behaved honestly and avoided
- 0:36corruption. Something that is very rare
- 0:40today. He also never wanted to take
- 0:42money that was not his right. Hatta
- 0:45once asked his assistant to return the
- 0:48vice president's tactical funds of Rp
- 0:5125,000. Even though it was okay if it
- 0:55was not returned. Actually, the
- 0:58tactical funds did not need to be
- 1:01accounted for, but Bung Hatta's morals
- 1:03were responsible for them. Bung Hatta
- 1:06was an honest and honorable man. Bung
- 1:10Hatta was very careful in using money.
- 1:14He only used money that was his right.
- 1:18He did not want to use his official car
- 1:20for his family. He did not want to use
- 1:24state funds for family or personal
- 1:27interests. The state funds budgeted for
- 1:30him were only for the smooth running of
- 1:33his work. Remember, whatever your field
- 1:37and job title, responsibility is one of
- 1:40the important things you must carry.
- 1:45With responsibility, civil servants
- 1:49will feel needed and take pride in
- 1:52their work. However, given
- 1:57responsibility will be useless if they
- 2:00lack accountability. Accountability
- 2:07empowers you to fulfill your
- 2:09responsibilities. People who lack
- 2:14accountability often blame others or
- 2:17parties if something goes wrong in
- 2:21their work. Without responsibility and
- 2:28accountability, civil servants
- 2:30typically lack ethics, only perform the
- 2:33necessary tasks, and exhibit a lack of
- 2:36commitment, often displaying
- 2:38indifference. I will share some very
- 2:42important research. The Corruption
- 2:46Eradication Commission (KPK) released
- 2:48the 2021 National Integrity Index,
- 2:49measured through an Integrity
- 2:51Assessment Survey (SPI). The National
- 2:55Integrity Index measures the level of
- 2:57corruption risk in ministries,
- 2:59institutions, and local governments
- 3:01through public perceptions and
- 3:03experiences, as well as objective data
- 3:06from internal institutions, service
- 3:08users, and stakeholders. Based on the
- 3:12SPI results, corruption risks are still
- 3:16widespread in almost all agencies. Some
- 3:20key findings mapped based on the SPI
- 3:23results include misuse of office
- 3:25facilities for personal gain, the risk
- 3:28of corruption in the management of
- 3:30goods and services procurement, and
- 3:33bribery or gratuities that persist in
- 3:35almost all agencies. Intervention,
- 3:39whether in the form of determining
- 3:41activity programs, licensing,
- 3:43determining winners, or procuring goods
- 3:46and services, most often occurs in
- 3:50central ministries and institutions.
- 3:53The risk of corruption in promotions or
- 3:56transfers, or the buying and selling of
- 3:58positions, is common in district
- 4:01governments. Now, we must understand
- 4:06that accountability is a principled
- 4:10value that must be a characteristic in
- 4:14the workplace. Virtually everyone
- 4:19understands and comprehends the meaning
- 4:22of accountability, but they are unable
- 4:25to implement it. Accountability is
- 4:30neither simple nor easy. It requires
- 4:34sincerity, self-control, and honesty. I
- 4:40will present guidelines for accountable
- 4:42behavior. First, carry out duties with
- 4:47honesty, responsibility, meticulousness
- 4:50, discipline, and high integrity.
- 4:55Second, use state assets and assets
- 4:58responsibly, effectively, and
- 5:00efficiently. Do not abuse the authority
- 5:04of your position. What is the
- 5:07conclusion? Your honor, your entire
- 5:11career, your future, and your success
- 5:14are influenced by the way you work and
- 5:18the conscience you pour into your work.
- 5:22Character, maturity, and sincerity are
- 5:26meaningless compared to the salary you
- 5:29receive. If you do your work
- 5:33half-heartedly, haphazardly, and
- 5:35incompletely, it will destroy your
- 5:38character. We cannot have an honest,
- 5:43whole character, or a spotless career
- 5:47if we constantly waste our time
- 5:50irresponsibly doing our jobs. Remember,
- 5:56seek the truth, demand the truth, and
- 6:00practice it in society so that it
- 6:03always guides all our actions. Bung
- 6:08Hatta, follow me. Take a deep breath,
- 6:12say we are responsible for the trust
- 6:14given to us. Let us uphold
- 6:18accountability. Greetings, civil
- 6:21servants with morals.
