UNTOUCHED For 8 Years | ABANDONED IBM Complex With EVERYTHING Left Behind — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00Up a long driveway along the New Jersey
- 0:03New York border sits a massive abandoned
- 0:05office and convention hall. This is the
- 0:08Palisades IBM conference center. Inside
- 0:12was an entire self-contained campus
- 0:14spanning many acres. Over 200 private
- 0:18guest [music] rooms, large conference
- 0:20halls and auditoriums, an underground
- 0:22restaurant, lounges, a full fitness
- 0:26center, an indoor swimming pool, offices
- 0:30with personal things left behind, and so
- 0:32much more.
- 0:34Everything was carefully planned, clean,
- 0:37controlled, and professional. A
- 0:39reflection of IBM itself at the time.
- 0:42For decades, they weren't just a
- 0:44technology company. They helped build
- 0:46the modern world with governments,
- 0:48banks, [music] and global corporations
- 0:50relying on their systems. So when IBM
- 0:54trained its people, it didn't do it in
- 0:56rented hotel ballrooms. It built places
- 0:59like this. Ultimately, it was designed
- 1:02to be in a comfortable atmosphere
- 1:04[music] where employees, engineers, and
- 1:06highlevel executives could be brought in
- 1:08to train, strategize, and focus without
- 1:11distractions.
- 1:13For years, it ran successfully, but
- 1:15corporate priorities quickly changed. As
- 1:18IBM [music] downsized and its operations
- 1:21shifted, properties like this became
- 1:23unnecessary.
- 1:25In 2016, the company [music] sold the
- 1:27entire complex to a Chinese-owned
- 1:29convention and hospitality group for
- 1:32tens of millions of dollars with plans
- 1:35to repurpose it as a large-scale
- 1:37convention and event center.
- 1:43On paper, it was a success, but after
- 1:45the sale, they struggled to find
- 1:47constant use, even turning it into a CO
- 1:5019 testing center. And by around 2020,
- 1:54operations were completely shut down.
- 1:57However, that was only the start of the
- 1:59problems. A mechanical malfunction
- 2:02spilled petroleum into the lake on the
- 2:04property. Pipes burst [music] into the
- 2:07building, completely flooding the
- 2:08basements. And at one point, emergency
- 2:11crews were called, but they were unable
- 2:13to drive [music] in because of sinkholes
- 2:15forming along the roadways. As of
- 2:18recently, vandals have completely
- 2:20wrecked it, [music] and security has
- 2:22been put in place, but we were able to
- 2:24take a look at it in its untouched state
- 2:26in 2024.
- 2:28Join me as we explore.
- 2:32So, as we can see, this place has been
- 2:34abandoned for, I think, around 2 years.
- 2:36But, I mean, the driveway is all messed
- 2:38up. There's literally tree falling. And
- 2:40this sign, guest registration and
- 2:42parking just looks so apocalyptic.
- 2:45We have massive parking lots right here
- 2:48to the left. Even a helellipad, too.
- 2:51So, this place is no joke for sure. We
- 2:53were here a few days ago just kind of
- 2:55scoping it out, seeing if there was a
- 2:57way in. And here we are maybe a week
- 2:59later. So, we know how to get inside. We
- 3:01know all that where the cool rooms are.
- 3:04But, I mean, look at this place. It's
- 3:07huge. Multiple floors. So many acres.
- 3:11And if we come over here, we can even
- 3:12see a massive stream just going around
- 3:16and a little waterfall all the way over
- 3:18there. And then we have the skywalk kind
- 3:21of separating the two buildings. There
- 3:24were koi in this uh little river before.
- 3:27I don't see it now, but maybe they're
- 3:29just hiding. Here they are.
- 3:33That's so weird that they just left
- 3:34these here when the place got abandoned.
- 3:37I'm honestly surprised they're still
- 3:38alive cuz I there was a big sheet of ice
- 3:42on top of the whole water. So yeah, I
- 3:46mean good for them for still being
- 3:48alive. There's even big flock of ducks
- 3:50over there. So I mean nature and animals
- 3:53are definitely letting this place
- 3:54abandoned for sure. I returned back in
- 3:57the spring to get more footage. You will
- 4:00see the contrast and seasons later in
- 4:02the video. All right, folks. So, we're
- 4:03starting right here in the hotel part
- 4:05and we're going to explore all the
- 4:07rooms, see everything that is inside,
- 4:09and then we're going to move on to the
- 4:11offices and see everything over there.
- 4:14But, as you can see, look at how big
- 4:16this part is. Wow.
- 4:35This is huge. Great natural lighting as
- 4:37well.
- 4:39So, I assume as we go up to the higher
- 4:41floors, that's where the rooms are going
- 4:42to be more luxurious, have a lot more
- 4:45features. So, let's walk into room 214
- 4:49and kind of compare and contrast them.
- 4:53Yeah. Everything is left behind.
- 4:56Dang.
- 4:58Yeah, even the TV, the remotes,
- 5:01just the generic uh hotel stuff.
- 5:05I mean, look at the soap, hair dryer.
- 5:08So, I presume that's what all the rooms
- 5:10on this floor are going to look like.
- 5:11So, let's go upstairs and see some of
- 5:13those.
- 5:15Oh, wow.
- 5:17Little conference area here. I love all
- 5:20the natural lighting. All the windows
- 5:21here and the dead plant over there
- 5:25really brings an apocalyptic view here.
- 5:28I imagine they could walk out here. I
- 5:31imagine they could walk out here, take a
- 5:33breath. It really is in the middle of
- 5:35nowhere. We're just surrounded by woods
- 5:37and really foresty area. So, it is
- 5:41pretty peaceful out here. And just to
- 5:43bring into perspective how big this
- 5:45place actually is. Look at how far the
- 5:48hotel rooms go. And we have like five
- 5:51floors of this as well.
- 5:54This is incredible.
- 6:01Let's see if these rooms are any
- 6:03different up here on the third floor.
- 6:06Oh, wow. Yes, they are. Dang. So, here
- 6:11we have the the kind of living room area
- 6:12of the room, desk space, and then actual
- 6:18bedroom.
- 6:20Now, this is really cool. Yeah. And
- 6:22these circular windows right at the
- 6:25corner.
- 6:27Oh, this is awesome.
- 6:30They have all these different, you know,
- 6:32controls here. Wake up call, conference
- 6:34hall, fitness center.
- 6:37Seems like we have one more floor. Let's
- 6:39check that out.
- 6:41Really starting to get a good view of
- 6:42this place. Just the scale, [music] just
- 6:45the natural lighting is incredible, too.
- 6:49And look at this expensive machinery
- 6:50left behind. It really shows that they
- 6:52took nothing with them.
- 6:55Oh, wow. It's definitely worth a few
- 6:56grand here. Of course, another dead
- 6:59plant. Seems like a little tree.
- 7:04Oh, we got another small room. Again,
- 7:06this one's not too special.
- 7:09See this water was $3.
- 7:12Wow. And look at these vending machines
- 7:14here. Everything is left behind in them.
- 7:17This is so apocalyptic.
- 7:19It looks like some people, you know,
- 7:20broke the glass. This was very recent
- 7:24for sure, but probably to, you know,
- 7:26kind of take the money that was left
- 7:28behind.
- 7:31Looks like someone drank some of that
- 7:33Pepsi. It's kind of half empty.
- 7:36This is really cool, though.
- 7:38And here we got the bar area, kind of
- 7:40the entertainment center for the actual
- 7:42convention hall. [music] I can imagine a
- 7:44lot of the guests, you know, grouping up
- 7:46here at the end of the day, just going
- 7:49for a party and nice drink here. But the
- 7:52fascinating thing about this, look at
- 7:54this.
- 7:56Wow.
- 7:57This drink was kind of left behind. And
- 7:59you could tell this is old because of
- 8:01the mold buildup there. Oh my gosh.
- 8:07This was like wine. I believe it's like
- 8:10everyone had to leave in like a rush.
- 8:13Like something bad happened in the
- 8:15middle of the day and everyone had to
- 8:16evacuate.
- 8:18We still got all the drinks that haven't
- 8:20been taken or anything.
- 8:23Love to see that.
- 8:25All these beer bottles
- 8:28of the register. Someone try to, you
- 8:30know, kind of get in that. Oh my gosh.
- 8:32This is crazy.
- 8:36One grilled steak, one salmon. 7:45 p.m.
- 8:44[music]
- 8:53It's such an open space. I imagine a lot
- 8:57of, you know, fun times would have had
- 8:58here and even the game corner. So that I
- 9:02think this definitely would have been
- 9:03the the desired room to be here after a
- 9:06long day's work. It's a shame someone
- 9:08like kind of broke this window. Really
- 9:11sad the disrespect people have. They
- 9:13don't, you know, care about these
- 9:14places. I presume a TV would definitely
- 9:17been over there. Oh, no way. And look at
- 9:20that. That looks like a raetball court.
- 9:24And now this area as well is, you know,
- 9:26this kind of sports hall. We're going to
- 9:28go downstairs and see the racket court
- 9:30shortly.
- 9:31But look at this. We got the pool over
- 9:34here. And then right below us is the
- 9:37fullsize gym. Oh, that's like frozen in
- 9:40time. All the pool toys and everything
- 9:42left behind. So downstairs we got the
- 9:44the locker rooms and saunas and then the
- 9:48fitness center. And so this is kind of
- 9:50where that begins here.
- 9:53Whoa.
- 9:54And look at this. All the equipment.
- 9:58Oh my gosh.
- 10:01It feels like the wood is kind of
- 10:02starting to buckle a little bit. Quite
- 10:04an echo here, too. We got another
- 10:06basketball court here, too.
- 10:09There's a different layout. Yeah, the
- 10:11the floor is definitely buckling here
- 10:13without a doubt.
- 10:16>> Oh, yeah. Oh, this is like raetball or,
- 10:19you know, squash or something.
- 10:21Yep. Raet ball rules.
- 10:25And then [music] pretty much parallel to
- 10:27the courts here, we have the gym and the
- 10:30pool.
- 10:31I'm really excited to see this part. And
- 10:34when I was here a few months ago, this
- 10:36door was actually locked and [music] we
- 10:38had to like crawl through this uh you
- 10:42know this broken glass part. This is
- 10:44amazing though.
- 10:47I can imagine this place when it was
- 10:49open. Clear blue waters, people all
- 10:52over, probably launch chairs, [music]
- 10:53you know, kind of around here.
- 10:56Wow.
- 11:00And then the cool thing is behind this
- 11:02kind of 80s glass windows is the gym.
- 11:05So, we'll see that, you know, really
- 11:07soon.
- 11:17I love these square windows, too. kind
- 11:19of the the tile decor really, you know,
- 11:22matches well. And directly outside, we
- 11:25actually have this, you know, stream and
- 11:28small waterfall.
- 11:30So, it brings in, you know, really
- 11:32ambient noise as you're kind of chilling
- 11:34here. It seems to be the same depth the
- 11:38whole time. It doesn't get deeper
- 11:40anywhere.
- 11:41Look at this. Here is where we start to
- 11:43see, you know, a lot of the decay. the
- 11:46the the ceiling just completely falling
- 11:48down here.
- 11:50But all this equipment, there's so much
- 11:52money in this room just left behind.
- 11:56And look at this mold just kind of
- 11:58forming up here. That's so sad. Oh yeah,
- 12:02the lighting here would have been
- 12:03incredible.
- 12:05Light bulbs kind of going around the
- 12:07windows. Free weights over here. [music]
- 12:10bench.
- 12:23Right underneath us, we have the the
- 12:25stream that kind of goes around the
- 12:26property.
- 12:28And we can see the kind of parking lot
- 12:30from here. And then right under that
- 12:32kind of glass roof is the main entrance,
- 12:35kind of the carport where you can get
- 12:37dropped off.
- 12:40I mean, looking around in every
- 12:42direction, all we see is just the
- 12:44massive building and then the forest.
- 12:49And then right here, we're approaching
- 12:50the main entrance. And I love the use of
- 12:53natural light here because there's no
- 12:56windows around. There's just these top
- 12:57ones. And they just shine a beautiful
- 13:00light [music] right here on these
- 13:02chairs.
- 13:04There would have been, you know, potted
- 13:05plants in between all of them. They're
- 13:07all like dead and gone now. Yeah. So,
- 13:10that's where we came from. The guest
- 13:11rooms, fitness center, and game room.
- 13:13And this is what you see when you first
- 13:15walk in here. There actually used to be
- 13:18a big model of the whole property here
- 13:20of the whole building [music] and
- 13:22everything. And it was just taken out.
- 13:25Very tall ceilings.
- 13:45They had a lot of nature in this room
- 13:47and now it's just completely dead. And
- 13:49it might have been Christmas time, too,
- 13:51cuz we have, you know, Christmas lights
- 13:53kind of all over this tree here. And
- 13:55look how incredible this is.
- 13:58This was kind of the dining hall right
- 14:00here. You could eat inside or you could
- 14:02walk outside here and eat. And look at
- 14:04how apocalyptic that looks. But I mean,
- 14:08it's really cool because that part is
- 14:10actually underground. And so above that
- 14:12area is a a courtyard. Even this gas
- 14:16fireplace to greet you as soon as you
- 14:17walk in.
- 14:19And right here are the front doors.
- 14:22There might have been, you know,
- 14:22probably a door man or, you know,
- 14:24receptionist
- 14:26um in this area past this door here. Oh,
- 14:30yeah. Yep. There we have it. The
- 14:33reception desk.
- 14:35So, we have three sets of doors. Wow.
- 14:38Really cool light. Very modern looking.
- 14:41Now, we have the classrooms. Watson
- 14:43room, whatever that is, and the
- 14:45concierge
- 14:48probably had these TVs playing, you
- 14:49know, some promotional uh adverts or,
- 14:52you know, even a show maybe.
- 14:55So, before we go in that section, which
- 14:57is the the offices and convention halls.
- 15:00Uh we're going to go downstairs here,
- 15:02check out the dining room and the
- 15:04kitchen. And it's incredible because all
- 15:06the food is left behind. It's like
- 15:09everyone just vanished completely. Look
- 15:12at this. This part is actually still
- 15:13alive. And I think people were kind of
- 15:15dumping their drinks here. And that just
- 15:18barely saved this part of the plant.
- 15:22That's so cool. So this is what happens
- 15:24as soon as you walk down the stairs. We
- 15:26have the the kind of cashier here kind
- 15:28of to bring you to the dining hall over
- 15:31there.
- 15:33Yeah. Some vandals definitely ripped
- 15:35out. The money took it all. But I mean,
- 15:39the trash can's still full. The menus
- 15:42right here on the bottom, the cocktails,
- 15:45even someone's shoe, probably a worker's
- 15:47uniform.
- 15:50And then directly to the left is all the
- 15:53different restaurants.
- 15:55And look how cool this is. This display
- 15:58here full of, you know, alcohol and
- 16:01everything. I imagine there would have
- 16:03been probably like 10, 20 different
- 16:06restaurants here all serving different
- 16:08types of food. Really cool that. I mean,
- 16:11everything is left here still. The
- 16:13takeout boxes, the colory,
- 16:16maybe had like a buffet style table
- 16:20right here under the chandelier. Think
- 16:22that's definitely what it was.
- 16:24Here's like the kitchen for anybody
- 16:26curious.
- 16:28Everything's still kind of here, but I
- 16:31almost missed this room.
- 16:34All the wine. That's got to be not not
- 16:37too old. Probably still drinkable.
- 16:46Holy cow.
- 16:49It's left just as it was. All neatly
- 16:52stacked.
- 16:54I think they had this hose to pump water
- 16:56out of the basement. I remember reading
- 16:58something about a massive, massive leak
- 17:01[music] that happened down there. And I
- 17:03mean, because of that, the whole thing
- 17:05is covered up and down with black mold.
- 17:08I think that's the reason they have this
- 17:09here now.
- 17:12But look at this. Wow. And here are the
- 17:15skylights that we saw, you know, before.
- 17:17[music]
- 17:18So, right above us is a courtyard. You
- 17:20could like walk up here.
- 17:27I love how everything is still set up.
- 17:30There's not a piece of graffiti
- 17:32anywhere. Nothing's trashed.
- 17:37Oh, and this the the dishwashing station
- 17:39right here.
- 17:41It does smell like food in here, not
- 17:43going to lie.
- 17:45And all the dishes are left behind. All
- 17:48this kind of the the cleaning station
- 17:51kind of the belt. It goes around. This
- 17:53looks like food was left behind here.
- 17:57I think that's what happened. Yeah. Wow.
- 18:00So these were the the dirty plates up on
- 18:03these shelves here. And they even had a
- 18:05buffet [music] area right here too. So
- 18:09they had a lot of options without a
- 18:10doubt.
- 18:13Another view of, you know, a little bit
- 18:14decay happening.
- 18:17Wow.
- 18:19This is awesome.
- 18:21This is such a big room.
- 18:23Look at this.
- 18:26And we have speakers on like every
- 18:28corner. stereo systems, everything.
- 18:32And we even have some private dining
- 18:34rooms here, too. And this is what they
- 18:36would have looked like. So, you could
- 18:38probably, you know, have a meal during a
- 18:40meeting. I even see a place to put down
- 18:43a a kind of projector screen right
- 18:45there.
- 18:46Some great natural decay.
- 18:49This kind of rust water just building up
- 18:51on the carpet.
- 18:53Yeah. And these are all dining rooms.
- 19:00Even this ATM left behind. This place
- 19:03was probably abandoned with all the
- 19:04money in there. And it looks like
- 19:06someone kind of broke in and took all
- 19:09the money from inside. This really shows
- 19:11how quickly this place closed. So now
- 19:14here we are back in the lobby and we're
- 19:17going to continue through this kind of
- 19:19small skyway over to the classrooms
- 19:23and Watson room. [music] Right outside
- 19:26we have a good view of the driveway just
- 19:28all overgrown. All the vines on the
- 19:31pillars and we have a little bit of rain
- 19:32coming down. Really adds to the mood.
- 19:35And this is what I was talking about
- 19:37before. You kind of walk on top of the
- 19:40actual dining room. And this is what I
- 19:42was talking about before. You can walk
- 19:43on top of the dining room. We have the
- 19:45little path and then the grassy area
- 19:47which would be maintained once upon a
- 19:49time.
- 19:52And now this is where we have kind of
- 19:53the offices, the classrooms, that type
- 19:56of stuff right here. This kind of the
- 19:58main lobby for that area.
- 20:02And then look at this.
- 20:05Wa.
- 20:08All those lights up top. I'm sure a lot
- 20:10of big presentations would happened
- 20:12here. We have the the three projector
- 20:14screens as well.
- 20:22Oh, look at this. Yeah, this is really
- 20:24cool. And we have like a really good
- 20:27view of the front entrance to this place
- 20:29as well. The kind of circular driveway
- 20:31up here and the glass roof.
- 20:35Yeah, we got a bunch of storage and
- 20:37cleaning equipment back here.
- 20:41They probably did a service where they
- 20:43could do laundry for you. they would
- 20:45come to your room, just take your
- 20:46clothes and then bring it back when it's
- 20:48already done. So now we have two levels
- 20:51we could check out here. And then from
- 20:53there it kind of branches off to, you
- 20:55know, a third floor and fourth floor as
- 20:56well. I think we'll start down here and
- 20:58then we'll move on later on. So we got
- 21:01classrooms, telephones, restrooms, and
- 21:03elevators over here in this section. So
- 21:06yeah, so along this hallway, we just
- 21:08have a lot of different conference
- 21:09rooms. Definitely, you know, a lot
- 21:11smaller than the main one we saw just
- 21:13now, but there there has to be, you
- 21:16know, hundreds of them. Oh, this natural
- 21:19decay right here is amazing, too.
- 21:21There's some moss just growing on the
- 21:23carpet.
- 21:25Wow. There's black mold and moss just
- 21:28growing on the carpet.
- 21:30That's incredible.
- 21:33And this is one of the the nourishment
- 21:35hubs that they had. And I imagine this
- 21:38would have been this table at least
- 21:40would have been filled with, you know,
- 21:42cups and, you know, different drinks,
- 21:44snacks,
- 21:46all that type of stuff. So, this was
- 21:48like a full-on professional conference
- 21:51hall. You know, they catered to
- 21:52everyone. I'm sure it was, you know,
- 21:55pretty expensive as well.
- 21:58Yeah. And a business center, too.
- 22:01I'm sure all these cubicles, you know,
- 22:03had like a computer to it, maybe a
- 22:06printer, fax machine.
- 22:10Oh, we actually have one over there. Fax
- 22:12machine. But yeah, this is definitely
- 22:15really professional business center. And
- 22:17you can just walk out those doors, get
- 22:20some fresh air, too.
- 22:22And these individual rooms right over
- 22:25there, that would have been for, you
- 22:26know, telephones. um if you could have
- 22:28like a private call. And I'm sure this
- 22:31is kind of soundproof right here as
- 22:33well. And then as we continue going on,
- 22:36all these rooms on the left are just,
- 22:39you know, different classrooms.
- 22:41This reminds me of kind of like a
- 22:42college campus.
- 22:44Especially this room. It seems like this
- 22:48whole hallway is just pretty much the
- 22:50same thing. Yeah. Another nourishment
- 22:52hub, but then more, you know, phone
- 22:55stations. though. And we end off the
- 22:57first floor with once again another
- 22:59nourishment hub and then doors. Dang,
- 23:03they had a lot of these. I don't know
- 23:05why they had so many of them. There's no
- 23:07really point and having like five in
- 23:10just one small corridor.
- 23:12And this kind of is the end of the
- 23:14property building wise. I mean, we have
- 23:16tennis courts all the way at the end. A
- 23:19lot of other places to relax and hang
- 23:21out, but this is the end of the
- 23:23buildings.
- 23:25Look at that massive camera. Definitely
- 23:28outdated.
- 23:29We have a really good view of all the
- 23:31buildings and the property. I mean,
- 23:32that's the hotel place we were just in
- 23:34before. And I mean, you could see the
- 23:36span of it, how far it just goes back. I
- 23:39mean, the camera really doesn't describe
- 23:41how big this place actually is.
- 23:45Now, here we are on the second floor.
- 23:48Wow, look at this. And this is actually
- 23:51level to the land outside. So, I don't
- 23:53know. This place is kind of built on a
- 23:54an incline.
- 23:57Striker trauma 2011.
- 24:02What?
- 24:05Yeah. So, this was some like medical
- 24:07classroom here. Look at all this
- 24:10equipment left. Look at the boards. They
- 24:13still have, you know, kind of the
- 24:15classroom writing to it. And now the
- 24:19second floor. It seems like pretty much
- 24:21an exact copy of what we saw down below.
- 24:24You know, the nourishment hub on the
- 24:26right, the phone calls on the left, but
- 24:29this one is actually really cool because
- 24:32everything is left behind.
- 24:34Yeah. So, this is a really good view of
- 24:36what this would have looked like, you
- 24:37know, before we had all the drinks here.
- 24:44M&M's
- 24:48probably for, you know, fruits and
- 24:49vegetables up here. Oh, and this is the
- 24:52the courtyard right above the dining
- 24:54hall. A good view of that.
- 24:58And this uh business center kind of like
- 25:01a mini lobby. You could talk to someone
- 25:03about, you know, maybe uh getting a room
- 25:05or something.
- 25:07But look at this. It's all of it left
- 25:10behind.
- 25:13So this was all of their stuff, their
- 25:15you know personal belongings all left
- 25:18behind.
- 25:20This is unreal. And that's them. [music]
- 25:23You know the kind of workers here. So
- 25:25it's calendar January 2019. Well, that's
- 25:292020.
- 25:30So maybe you closed because of co to
- 25:33Gino. I'll miss working with you every
- 25:35day. I know I'll always be your favorite
- 25:38conference planning partner. You are the
- 25:40best. [music]
- 25:41We actually have some prices. So, wine
- 25:43glass $9,
- 25:46beer six, five. So, just regular prices,
- 25:51just the of course upcharged, but
- 25:55and that that right there in the picture
- 25:57on the left,
- 25:59that is a photo back when this was still
- 26:02active. That's the the skywalk and then
- 26:04the kind of stream underneath it.
- 26:10Yes. So, this one's frozen in time, too.
- 26:12Everything's left here.
- 26:15Yeah. And a buffet buffet section, too.
- 26:18But it seems like, you know, it's the
- 26:19same thing over and over again. So,
- 26:21we're going to move on.
- 26:24I imagine it's going to be pretty
- 26:26similar to what we already saw, but I'm
- 26:28sure there's going to be some new rooms
- 26:30cuz this part does go back quite a lot.
- 26:33Seems to have like offices just lining
- 26:36up throughout there.
- 26:38Okay, so we have more call centers than
- 26:41the refreshment areas
- 26:44and then a lot more rooms. Room C370 is
- 26:48a massive conference hall right here. A
- 26:52lot of modern lights up top.
- 26:58You've been on this section for a while
- 27:00now. Is there anything like really cool
- 27:01to see? Yeah. I mean, this section that
- 27:03we're in right now, it looks like the
- 27:05there was like an IBM um headquarters
- 27:07that kind of stayed in this wing. And
- 27:09then the the wings A, B, and C, there's
- 27:12like looks like it was for guests. Uh
- 27:15there's like mugs still set up, like big
- 27:18sky [music] rooms, probably five of
- 27:19those. And um everything's just kind of
- 27:23left just as it was. There's massive
- 27:25theater rooms in A, B, and C as well.
- 27:27Just all the chairs are there. And
- 27:29they're all kind of different, too. It's
- 27:31really cool. Uh I just I don't know how
- 27:34not much was taken from here. [music]
- 27:36It's all just kind of left around.
- 27:38>> So in this section we have the training
- 27:40and development area. And so maybe this
- 27:42was a like some sort of technical
- 27:44school.
- 27:49Yeah, just some industrial stuff.
- 27:54Oh, interesting. Okay, so this section
- 27:56is actually locked.
- 27:59Hm.
- 28:01So, we have just a lot of office
- 28:02cubicles in here. Well, I suppose let's
- 28:06uh head up the stairs and we can see
- 28:08what's up here.
- 28:13Wow, look at all these papers.
- 28:16Dang. So, this is from 2009. [music] The
- 28:20minimum wage was 725.
- 28:23Another coffee bar type of thing.
- 28:26Hallway full of offices. This one's
- 28:28actually unlocked.
- 28:32This is fascinating. Yeah. So, this was
- 28:34everyone's like individual cubicle kind
- 28:37of thing. They had a lot of these here.
- 28:41Bunch of keys were left in this one. And
- 28:44we also have a view of kind of all the
- 28:46roads that lead up to this building.
- 28:49All abandoned and decaying.
- 28:51[music]
- 28:55Same basic stuff pretty much. It's a
- 28:57chair. Trash can.
- 29:01They might have taken all the computers
- 29:02out.
- 29:05What? Look at this one. Big meeting room
- 29:08presentation area.
- 29:11Yeah. Seems like some local kids have
- 29:13found this place.
- 29:17They're playing hangman,
- 29:19just writing a bunch of gibberish.
- 29:22Luckily, they kept it just on these uh
- 29:25kind of screens [music] and not on the
- 29:27walls or anything. So, that's good.
- 29:33The room signing sheet.
- 29:37So, it seems [music] like this place
- 29:38just doubled as a hotel, convention
- 29:41center, and then even offices for
- 29:44different companies. It was that big.
- 29:48very modern kind of lunchroom area or
- 29:50hangout spot.
- 29:54This place just doesn't fail to surprise
- 29:56me. There's always just new stuff on
- 29:58every corner.
- 30:00I thought we were going to be done like
- 30:0330 minutes ago, but no, there's always
- 30:04more. Even all these phones left behind.
- 30:08Flip phones.
- 30:11Now, up here on the the third floor,
- 30:12this is where the actual offices are.
- 30:15Oh my gosh.
- 30:19Holy cow.
- 30:22What happened here?
- 30:24All of their personal belongings are
- 30:26left behind.
- 30:30This beats box goggles,
- 30:34a medicine,
- 30:37and all of the offices, the cubicles are
- 30:40just like this, too.
- 30:43Here's another one.
- 30:46A lot of valuables in here. Look at all
- 30:48this.
- 30:50Maybe some IT room.
- 30:52Definitely.
- 30:54What's this?
- 30:57Guest room technology team.
- 30:59The power and
- 31:02yeah. Some kind of storage
- 31:04parts. If you know something broke, they
- 31:07can come here fix it up.
- 31:09Look at the heavy lock here too. Wow.
- 31:12They really try to keep this secure.
- 31:16Fourth floor C-section. Just seems to be
- 31:19a ton of offices.
- 31:22Lucky for us, the doors actually open.
- 31:25So on the right, we have the individual
- 31:27queue. [music] Oh my gosh.
- 31:30What?
- 31:32This is incredible.
- 31:34Oh my goodness. I mean, all his personal
- 31:37things are still here.
- 31:40papers, his mug,
- 31:42passwords,
- 31:44FBI most wanted
- 31:47expenses,
- 31:49even the cubicles of everything left
- 31:51behind. All the paper folders and
- 31:55plants. This whole place reminds me of
- 31:57like Fukushima
- 31:59with everything just left behind.
- 32:03Just incredible.
- 32:06And just to think that every single
- 32:08cubicle and office room has everything
- 32:11left behind.
- 32:13This one's locked.
- 32:16That one is too, I believe.
- 32:20Yeah, like uh original writing is still
- 32:23on the board.
- 32:25Oversold room types.
- 32:28Some of them are locked, but most of
- 32:29them are still open, which is gives us a
- 32:32great view of how this place used to go.
- 32:35It's just insane.
- 32:39>> As of now, the property is no longer in
- 32:41use and remains under private ownership.
- 32:45Redevelopment plans have been discussed,
- 32:46but due to the scale of the site,
- 32:49environmental issues, and structural
- 32:51damage, any future project would likely
- 32:54require extensive demolition and
- 32:56remedation.
- 32:57The existing buildings are not expected
- 32:59to reopen in their current state. And
- 33:02whatever moves forward here, the complex
- 33:04as it once existed is effectively
- 33:07finished.
- 33:08Thank you for watching.
