  1. 0:00what I still practice to this day is you
  2. 0:02I wake up to no alarm so I wake up
  3. 0:04naturally uh I also have uh windows in
  4. 0:08my room that are that are not blocked
  5. 0:10from the light so there is an element of
  6. 0:12natural daylight that also comes in that
  7. 0:14engages in when I wake up but I will
  8. 0:18wake up and then upon waking up sitting
  9. 0:20next to my bed I'll have 500 milliliters
  10. 0:22of water and I will sit on the edge of
  11. 0:24my bed literally just kind of pivot from
  12. 0:26where I'm sleeping put my feet over the
  13. 0:29edge plant my feet solidly on the ground
  14. 0:31and then I'll start drinking my 200 M or
  15. 0:33my 500 MERS of water um not in any kind
  16. 0:35of rush but in a in a fashion that is
  17. 0:38intended to hydrate not a fashion that
  18. 0:40is intended to just sip away at water
  19. 0:42and during that period of time I will
  20. 0:45just sit in a comfortable position uh
  21. 0:47it's very similar to Transcendental
  22. 0:49Meditation and then I'll personally I
  23. 0:52will close my eyes I'll cross my fingers
  24. 0:54so that I have connection from Left Hand
  25. 0:55to right hand that's a physical
  26. 0:56connection kind of a closed circuit of
  27. 0:58the body and then I'll
  28. 1:00uh I will repeat a mantra in my head
  29. 1:03that was given to me when I learned
  30. 1:04Transcendental Meditation and then I'll
  31. 1:06just essentially practice that
  32. 1:07transcendental Mantra and constantly
  33. 1:10trying to push it further back and
  34. 1:11further back into my into my conscious
  35. 1:13mind and it's through that process that
  36. 1:17I will start to see what thoughts are
  37. 1:21dominant against the Mantra and that
  38. 1:24kind of helps me see what my mind is
  39. 1:27subconsciously stewing on and what those
  40. 1:29priorities are to me and often times
  41. 1:31I'll find myself thinking about you know
  42. 1:33a deep problem at work or in the
  43. 1:35business or a deep problem in the family
  44. 1:37or deep concern for a family member but
  45. 1:40um but it gives me a chance to kind of
  46. 1:43connect at a very deep level with what
  47. 1:46is sitting on my brain both conscious
  48. 1:49and subconscious I think that's a
  49. 1:51critically important statement that you
  50. 1:53made assessing the thoughts that arise
  51. 1:56against the Mantra the thoughts that are
  52. 1:58powerful enough to seem important enough
  53. 2:01to overpower that Mantra are you then
  54. 2:03doing any type of writing afterwards or
  55. 2:06during in a journal to capture those
  56. 2:07thoughts correct yeah and then there's a
  57. 2:09and then I have a very light journaling
  58. 2:11process I am not good at journaling and
  59. 2:13I am Inc incredibly jealous of people
  60. 2:16who are good at journaling uh and and
  61. 2:18again it's I'm using a a values based
  62. 2:21judgment right to to decide this but
  63. 2:23when I Journal I don't journal in detail
  64. 2:25I don't journal in full sentences I kind
  65. 2:27of journal in fragments so I'll write
  66. 2:29down what ever is at the top of my mind
  67. 2:31right um the baby got sick last night or
  68. 2:35uh I'm worried about my grandmother's uh
  69. 2:37Health right now or the the business
  70. 2:40needs a new marketing strategy for Q3 or
  71. 2:42whatever else it might be I'll journal
  72. 2:45in fragments but then what it gives me a
  73. 2:47chance to do is by the end of the week I
  74. 2:49can review the fragments of the week and
  75. 2:51I'll start to see the true anchor points
  76. 2:53and what are which of these are
  77. 2:55consistent patterns exactly that's very
  78. 2:58interesting Okay so so you have this
  79. 3:00meditation component and these journals
  80. 3:03I'm I'm assuming you just kind of save
  81. 3:04them and come back to them or review
  82. 3:06them at a certain point I'll actually
  83. 3:08translate my my written journals into
  84. 3:11dashboards like Excel dashboards that I
  85. 3:13can then categorize and sort over time
  86. 3:16so I think I have somewhere you know 370
  87. 3:19or so P um uh lines of journal entries
  88. 3:23that I can then draw from for the entire
  89. 3:25year yeah it's basically uh working in
  90. 3:28the process of integration from
  91. 3:29analytical standpoint which is smart
  92. 3:31versus just having a bunch of random
  93. 3:32thoughts that you never come back
  94. 3:37[Applause]
  95. 3:38to Fresh
