  9. 0:23many of them even have a daily paper
  10. 0:26delivered to their homes in time for
  11. 0:28breakfast
  12. 0:30British newspapers can be divided into
  13. 0:32two groups quality and popular
  14. 0:36quality newspapers are more serious and
  15. 0:39cover home and foreign use thoughtfully
  16. 0:41while popular newspapers like shocking
  17. 0:44personal stories as well as some news
  18. 0:48these two groups of papers can be
  19. 0:50distinguished easily because quality
  20. 0:52newspapers are twice the size of popular
  21. 0:55newspapers
  22. 0:57now you are going to hear about the
  23. 1:00circulation of some of these two groups
  24. 1:02of newspapers in 2003 and when they were
  25. 1:05founded
  26. 1:07First Quality daily newspapers
  27. 1:11The Daily Telegraph was founded in 1855
  28. 1:15and its circulation was 990 000 in 2003.
  29. 1:21the circulation of the times was 690
  30. 1:25000.
  31. 1:26and it was founded in 1785.
  32. 1:30the guardian was founded in 1821 and its
  33. 1:34circulation was 410 000 in 2003.
  34. 1:39the financial times was founded in 1888
  35. 1:43and its circulation was four hundred and
  36. 1:46fifty thousand
  37. 1:48now we come to the Quality Sunday
  38. 1:50newspapers
  39. 1:52the Sunday Times was established in 1822
  40. 1:56and in 2003 its circulation was 145
  41. 2:01000.
  42. 2:02and the circulation of the Observer was
