0:03it's Thursday evening and today has been
0:07very eventful I am afraid that we are
0:11going to have to talk about the elephant
0:13in the room that is Kanye West Kanye
0:16West went on Alex Jones and said some
0:21really interesting things
0:23that I don't approve of that I will not
0:25condone and I don't care if you will
0:29call me less Free Speech because of that
0:31and I will explain why because I've
0:34gotten both comments there were a couple
0:35things that people said to me when I
0:37tweeted about this earlier today I had
0:39people who were calling me a Nazi for
0:41not seeing this coming which was
0:43intriguing and I also had people who
0:45called me a free speech
0:48non-absolutist or like a fair weather
0:50Free Speech person because I personally
0:52don't love the idea of people spouting
0:54off anti-semitic comments at any given
0:58time
0:58so we're going to talk about that a
1:00little bit it's really fascinating I am
1:03not really looking forward to it but
1:06we're gonna get into it and kind of see
1:08what see what Kanye said and see what
1:11the damage is and we'll go from there I
1:13have this video that has stuff in it
1:15that I don't really want so I want to
1:17pause it part way through this is from
1:18Greg price who's great we had him on Tim
1:21cast IRL a couple times he's fantastic
1:24he brings the news he pretty much broke
1:27this story I think pretty sure he was
1:28watching this Kanye on the um
1:32Infowars earlier today which was very
1:35exciting so let me let me use my new
1:37mouse
1:39hey here we go are we ready
1:57yeah so that's the gist of what he said
2:01he said well I see good things about
2:04our dear friend also every human being
2:08has value that they brought to the table
2:09especially him
2:12so this is actually a really interesting
2:14concept that I think that we should
2:16entertain because as you guys know I
2:18care deeply about the value of human
2:20life and I've had people ask me if they
2:23think that this means that I would
2:24include somebody like
2:27Hitler on that list if I think that his
2:29life had value too and I will tell you
2:31right now that I firmly believe that all
2:33human life is intrinsically valuable I
2:36don't think that's debatable if you see
2:38the world through a even slightly
2:40judeo-christian print Viewpoint you're
2:43going to believe that's the case for
2:44sure because there are Bible verses all
2:46about how God recognizes people before
2:48they're born before they're put together
2:50in utero all of this stuff it's a really
2:54interesting philosophical question to be
2:56asked about somebody like Hitler because
2:59obviously he did do so much damage you
3:01could literally ask the same question
3:03about someone like Mao and Stalin and
3:05all those other people because they all
3:07did similar amounts of similar kinds of
3:10damage obviously Stalin was way more and
3:13Mao was way way more like we don't even
3:15know how many died in China because of
3:17Mao
3:18um so you have to ask yourself is this
3:20person's life intrinsically worthwhile
3:22and I don't think you can say that it's
3:25not even given what we know about know
3:28about what they did looking back
3:31as we know hindsight is 2020
3:33and it's very easy to say something like
3:35well this person was not worthwhile this
3:37person's life wasn't worth anything
3:39because look what they did
3:41there are a couple different things that
3:42I have to say about that because you
3:44guys all know that I am super pro-life I
3:46don't like abortion at all and I will
3:48say right up front that part of the
3:50reason that I'm so gung-ho about being
3:51pro-life is because children before
3:53they're born are literally incapable of
3:55doing anything so a child is clearly
3:59obviously not on the same level as Mao
4:01or Stalin and we have no idea if they
4:04would be that is called the potential of
4:06human life you have to survive the womb
4:10first of all you have to get out and you
4:12have to do something with your life
4:14either positive or negative to make
4:16people question whether each human life
4:18is valuable and it's it's a challenging
4:22question as I said and I think it does
4:25deserve warrant it does warrant some
4:27thought because
4:29there is a school of thought and I am in
4:31the school of thought who firmly
4:33believes that each person has something
4:35interesting to add to the conversation
4:38um and I I really think that's true and
4:41I tweeted about this a while back it was
4:43a little bit vague but I was like I
4:44think that you should be able to look at
4:46every single thinker and come up with
4:49something that they said that is true or
4:52applicable in in some situation because
4:55every different person has a unique
4:58perspective that you would be better off
5:00considering instead of rejecting now I
5:04don't think that Kanye West should be
5:07canceled for saying this I think he has
5:09every right to say it but at the same
5:11time I'm not at home to anti-semitic
5:13conversations I don't like anti-Semitism
5:16I don't like anti-anything that someone
5:18can't change and we talked about this I
5:19think I mentioned this yesterday I don't
5:21like the idea of tacking someone for
5:23anything that they have no control over
5:25that means hair color that means height
5:27eye color you know physical attributes
5:30that you have no no power to change it's
5:33really unfair to attack someone for
5:34something they can't control and this
5:36includes the idea of racism and stuff
5:38like anti-Semitism because these are
5:40things that people have no control over
5:42and it's not fair to bring that into any
5:45kind of conversation you should only be
5:47addressing ID ideas now what Connie is
5:50saying is kind of interesting because he
5:51says that he had
5:53Kanye says every human being has value
5:56that they brought to the table and then
5:58he says especially
6:00Hitler which is an absolutely crazy
6:03person thing to say and I don't know if
6:04you guys caught that but he actually was
6:06wearing what looks like a black sock on
6:08his head
6:09which was really interesting and I kind
6:11of want to get into this outfit because
6:14his wife wore something similar at an
6:16award show and she was wearing
6:18Balenciaga which I don't know if you
6:20guys have been following the Balenciaga
6:21kerfuffle there's a lot of stuff going
6:24on on there that should probably be
6:25thoroughly unpacked by someone who knows
6:27much more about it than I do but I just
6:30found his attire particularly perplexing
6:33given that he just
6:36finalized his divorce with Kim so he's
6:38going to be paying 200 000 a month to
6:41his wife and his kids for child support
6:43so he's done with a divorce uh this man
6:46is clearly mentally unstable he's just
6:50finishing a divorce which is terrible I
6:53know that he didn't want to go through
6:54that divorce I know that he wanted his
6:58wife to remain faithful to him even
7:00though they were separated I know that
7:02he is really going through a really
7:05tough time and I don't think it's fair
7:07to exactly judge what he's saying
7:10because given from my understanding
7:13let's see here that's not what I want
7:15yeah okay so this was a really
7:17interesting tweet which I guess was a
7:19rip-off from another guy also in 2018
7:21saying highly recommend getting off the
7:24Kanye train before inevitably reaches
7:26the blank was a good guy stop that's a
7:29very interesting note the reason people
7:31are saying that he drew this conclusion
7:33was because Kanye West was hanging out
7:35with people like Louis Farrakhan and
7:38these other Darlings of the left wing
7:40who are also hugely anti-semitic Louis
7:44Farrakhan from my understanding is part
7:45of the oh crap I can't remember if he's
7:48part of the the nation of Israel or
7:50Black Hebrew Israelites or
7:53um oh sorry the Nation of Islam boy I'll
7:56never live that down I believe that
7:58Louis Farrakhan is a part of the Nation
8:00of Islam
8:02also known as Black Hebrew Israelites
8:04you guys are welcome to correct me if
8:05I'm incorrect all I know about uh Louis
8:07Farrakhan for the most part is that he's
8:09hugely anti-semitic and that Barack
8:11Obama also was very involved with him
8:14for sure but we also know that there's a
8:16lot of anti-Semitism on the west on the
8:18on the west also on the west I can't
8:21handle directions I called Lauren
8:23Southern Lauren Northern the other day
8:24and now I'm saying instead of on the
8:26left I'm saying on the west because
8:27we're talking about Kanye West I just
8:29can't can't do it I'm like a woman with
8:30directions what can I say we know
8:32there's a lot of anti-Semitism on the
8:34left we can see it with Rashida slabe
8:37and Ilan Omar and it's really nothing
8:39new for them somebody tweeted the other
8:42day saying why can't the right wing ever
8:43just call out anti-Semitism on their
8:46side and I was just like yo you guys are
8:48the ones with the serious anti-semite
8:51problem our good friend Louis Farrakhan
8:53referred to the Jewish people as a kind
8:56of insect which is a very incredibly
8:58unkind and bigoted thing to say about
9:01them but he was never held accountable
9:02for that and those on the left still
9:04Revere him which is insane to me but I
9:08wanted to point out this tweet that I
9:10made as well
9:11look at that if you can care about Free
9:13Speech without being an anti-semite or
9:16condoning anti-Semitism wild because
9:19these were the responses I was getting
9:20either you're a Nazi or you're not
9:23sufficiently pro free speech I think
9:25it's fine that Connie should say exactly
9:27what he thinks but at the same time I
9:30know the left likes to say this but it
9:31is true that there are consequences for
9:33what you say that doesn't mean you
9:35shouldn't be allowed to say it it does
9:36mean that you're going to have to deal
9:38with the Fallout of what you said and I
9:41think that's what's going to happen with
9:42Kanye Edward Snowden was tweeting
9:44earlier that it doesn't look like
9:46there's going to be a present Kanye
9:47after all I think he's 100 right about
9:50that I genuinely feel truly bad for
9:53Kanye West I think that he's a deeply
9:55troubled person
9:56and I know that his life has been really
9:58tumultuous lately I know you guys all
10:00probably saw him storm out of the Tim
10:02Cass Castle the other day
10:04he just is
10:06I think he's in Bad Company for one
10:08thing
10:09um and I think he's being influenced by
10:11people who are trying to use him for
10:13their own ends and using him as a way to
10:15exact revenge on Donald Trump on the
10:19right on Christian religious people I'm
10:22not sure exactly what the plan is here
10:24but it does seem to me like Kanye is
10:27being used as a pawn and he's looking
10:29for support in very much all the wrong
10:31places if I could say one thing to Kanye
10:34it would be that you are cared for that
10:37your family loves you your kids love you
10:39and they need you to stay strong and be
10:41around for them and that means
10:44not saying crazy Off the Wall things
10:46that make them uncomfortable to be
10:48associated with you because I can just
10:49imagine how his kids feel about this or
10:52will feel about this when they're older
10:53like that's kind of a heavy burden to
10:55bear and I don't think that's fair to do
10:57to any kid I think that you have a
10:59responsibility as a parent to kind of
11:01stop and think about what you're saying
11:03even if even if it is a very firmly held
11:06belief
11:08you can hold a very controversial belief
11:11very firmly if you can express it in a
11:14way
11:15that completely completely encapsulates
11:19what you believe
11:20I personally
11:22I'm not sure I will say right off hand
11:25that it doesn't seem to me like Kanye
11:27has any special hate for any one group
11:30of people
11:31I don't think that's the case I think
11:33he's been listening to the wrong people
11:35I think he's been mixing with the wrong
11:37people and I think he's more easily
11:40persuadable maybe more easily influenced
11:44than some people and I know his life is
11:46in a really tough place right now
11:48um that's just my two cents right off
11:51the cuff I know this just happened today
11:52I felt like I had to say something
11:54because I've kind of been going back and
11:55forth with people on both sides of the
11:57aisle about it
11:59being called a Nazi and then also being
12:01called not sufficiently pro-free speech
12:02we'll do that to you but I don't think
12:05that there is
12:09I don't see that there's a disagreement
12:11between being pro-free speech and
12:14anti-anti-semitism
12:17um I don't think that's really too
12:18complicated either I don't think that's
12:20asking too much I think that every sane
12:22normal person is
12:23probably both largely free speech and
12:26also anti-anti-semitic and I don't think
12:29that's crazy to say either but I think
12:32that people get on Twitter and then they
12:34become really myopic everyone's a Nazi
12:37or everyone is not good enough at
12:39promoting free speech
12:41we can be moderate even on social media
12:44and I would really recommend this
12:45especially in the light of Connie this
12:47freaking Kanye thing because we more
12:51than anything we need to recognize
12:53what's going on with him as we do have a
12:56burgeoning mental health crisis in this
12:58country we need to recognize the
13:00symptoms we need to understand when it's
13:03time to maybe put someone in a
13:05conservatorship I'm not saying that
13:06needs to happen with Kanye I am saying
13:08that he needs Connie is a prime example
13:11of someone who needs the support of the
13:13community to make good decisions he
13:16needs that positive cultural enforcement
13:18those people around him who tell him hey
13:20that's not a good idea maybe you
13:23shouldn't do that maybe instead of this
13:25you should do this offer him some
13:27Alternatives give him a different
13:29approach kind of encourage him to be a
13:32little more introspective about what he
13:34says maybe put a pause on going on shows
13:37since apparently that's super stressful
13:39for him like Alex Jones was literally
13:42giving him an out he was literally
13:44saying but you're not what people say
13:46you are you're not what people are going
13:48to accuse you of being right and Kanye
13:52was like well actually maybe I am and I
13:55really feel like he could have used it's
13:57possible that maybe he just shouldn't do
13:59these live shows if they're so stressful
14:01and hard for him he's going to say these
14:03off-the-wall things I think that if he
14:06had
14:07a company of people around him willing
14:09to tell him no and willing to tell him
14:11hey you should maybe give it a rest for
14:13a little while you need to take a little
14:15break go on a vacation focus on
14:17something else
14:18this is what happens I would I dare say
14:20that Kanye West is what happens when you
14:23don't have Community Support to hold you
14:25accountable because Jordan Peterson
14:27talks about how we go crazy if we don't
14:29have other people to bounce our ideas
14:31off of and to me it just seems like
14:33Kanye West doesn't have good friends to
14:36tell him what is a good idea and what's
14:37not
14:38and that's truly truly sad because he's
14:40at the top of the hierarchy he's one of
14:43the richest guys okay he's been
14:45incredibly successful in music he's been
14:47incredibly successful in business he's
14:49done all sorts of amazing things but
14:51still he lacks this basic thing that the
14:54ordinary average peasant used to have
14:56200 years ago like he doesn't have a
15:00church family he doesn't have his family
15:02in his side he doesn't have like a
15:05supportive wife to tell him what to do I
15:08honestly I could place a lot of blame on
15:10his ex-wife too because
15:13when you marry someone you know what
15:15you're getting into with someone like
15:17Kanye you have to understand that you're
15:19going it's going to be hard okay with
15:22someone super smart and super eccentric
15:24like Kanye always has been you have to
15:27recognize that your job is going to be
15:30saying no a lot of the time and it's
15:32going to be kind of pushing back and
15:34bouncing ideas and being like hey you
15:36know I really care about you I don't
15:38want you to do this will you please just
15:40sleep on this or whatever wait to make
15:42this decision just put it off for a
15:43little while we'll come back to it later
15:45you don't have to do this show we can
15:47find you another one
15:49but without the support of his wife with
15:51without his family around him without
15:53his mom for example he talks about his
15:55mom a lot ever since she died and
15:58without a really solid structure to his
16:01life he's suffering and it's clear to
16:04see why and I I my heart goes out to him
16:07for sure I don't want him to be
16:08anti-semitic I don't want him to be
16:10saying all this stuff about Hitler I
16:12think that's terrible
16:14but at the same time to me it just comes
16:16across as much more of a cry for help
16:18than anything else so I really hope that
16:21he finds the help he needs and that's
16:22not just medical that's not just
16:24medicine to make him feel better this
16:26would be stuff like a solid church that
16:29is not led by Louis Farrakhan or anybody
16:31of that nature
16:33um uh consistent family contact and I'm
16:36hoping that he's on good terms with his
16:38ex-wife and stays on good terms with his
16:40kids because I know that he really cares
16:42about them these are things that make a
16:44big difference to him that have been
16:46lately just taken away from him and I
16:48honestly don't blame him for having a
16:50kind of mental break now if he is full
16:53on anti-semitic also that's fine you can
16:55the fact of the matter is at the end of
16:57the day you can still be rude you can
16:59still be mean online and in person that
17:02is called freedom of speech but people
17:04are going to know that about you and
17:06then people are going to judge you for
17:07it that's just one of the things that
17:09happens when we say things when words
17:11when noises come out of our mouth people
17:13will look at us and judge us based on
17:15that no matter how well thought out
17:17those words are or how poorly thought
17:19out those words are so hopefully that's
17:21something that he figures out I hope he
17:23figures out his community situation I
17:26hope he gets his family life back
17:27together and I hope he's able to calm
17:30down maybe Retreat from the public eye
17:32for this I think he needs to get out of
17:34the influence of bad people and into the
17:36influence of good people hopefully at
17:38church and all that good stuff but
17:39that's all I had to say about Kanye
17:41today I just I feel bad at the end of
17:43the day I really do he does seem sad he
17:45seems kind of lost and I hope he's able
17:48to find his way and I hope he can have
17:50that solid family support that everyone
17:52deserves so until tomorrow
