- 0:00You are somewhere here on this tiny rock
- 0:03floating in the immensity of space.
- 0:06You cannot see yourself from this view,
- 0:07but you are there. Maybe you are here or
- 0:09here.
- 0:11You could be practically anywhere on
- 0:13this surface, but at this very moment,
- 0:16as you listen to these words, you are on
- 0:18a planet traveling at incredible speed,
- 0:20crossing a space so vast that your mind
- 0:23cannot even imagine it.
- 0:26Because this rock is tiny compared to
- 0:28the universe, and you are tiny compared
- 0:30to this rock called Earth.
- 0:32Let's try moving away a little. Look at
- 0:35how small you are, even more so, even
- 0:37further away. And you are there in the
- 0:40middle of all this, a tiny being on a
- 0:43tiny planet in a huge and immense solar
- 0:46system.
- 0:47Yet, somehow, all of this keeps working
- 0:51on its own. The Earth spins, the Sun
- 0:54illuminates the planet, the oceans move
- 0:57, the seasons change, clouds form and
- 0:59dissolve.
- 1:01You don't have to remind the Earth to
- 1:03spin, you don't have to tell the sun
- 1:05when to rise, you don't have to convince
- 1:08the trees to grow. All of this happens.
- 1:11And now let's go back to you, because
- 1:14inside you, something just as incredible
- 1:16is happening.
- 1:18Your heart is beating, and it is doing
- 1:20so without you having to give it any
- 1:22orders. The heart beats on its own,
- 1:25about 100,000 times a day, without you
- 1:27having to think about it.
- 1:29And your breath.
- 1:31You inhale and exhale continuously, even
- 1:34while you sleep, without having to
- 1:37remind your body to do it.
- 1:40Yet there is something curious, because
- 1:42despite all this, you spend a huge
- 1:45amount of time trying to control every
- 1:47single aspect of your existence.
- 1:50Do you want to know what will happen
- 1:52tomorrow? Do you want to know if things
- 1:54will go well? Do you want to know if you
- 1:55will make the right decision? If you
- 1:57will make a mistake. You want to know
- 1:59how you will reach your goals, you want
- 2:01to know when you will reach them, you
- 2:03want to understand what others think of
- 2:05you.
- 2:06And when you don't have these answers,
- 2:08you start to worry.
- 2:10You try to predict every possibility,
- 2:12you try with your small logical mind to
- 2:15control everything. But stop for a
- 2:17moment, look at this planet.
- 2:20It has been here for billions of years,
- 2:22it has gone through enormous
- 2:23transformations, it has seen many life
- 2:25forms arise and disappear, gone through
- 2:28climate changes, catastrophes, wars,
- 2:30extinctions, and transformations you
- 2:32cannot even imagine.
- 2:33And you have arrived here for only a
- 2:35very brief interval of time, a small
- 2:38moment in the history of this planet.
- 2:41And right now, you are trying to control
- 2:43everything: your relationships, your
- 2:45work, your future, the opinions of
- 2:47others, circumstances, the unexpected,
- 2:50as if the entire functioning of
- 2:52existence depended on your ability to
- 2:54foresee everything.
- 2:56But that is not the case. You cannot
- 2:58eliminate uncertainty from your life.
- 3:00You can prepare, you can work hard, you
- 3:02can make smarter decisions, but you
- 3:04cannot control everything that happens
- 3:06around you.
- 3:08And the beautiful thing is, you don’t
- 3:09even need to. Think about how many times
- 3:12you’ve ruined the present by worrying
- 3:14about a future that never actually
- 3:15arrived. Or how many times have you
- 3:18suffered for something that existed only
- 3:20in your mind?
- 3:21Or how many times have you tried to
- 3:23force a situation, a relationship, or an
- 3:25outcome because you were in a rush to
- 3:28make it happen?
- 3:29And how much energy have you spent
- 3:31trying to hold every single piece of
- 3:33your life together?
- 3:35And meanwhile, the sun rose, the earth
- 3:38turned, your heart beat, your breath
- 3:41continued, and life went on as it always
- 3:44has.
- 3:45So I tell you, stop worrying. You don't
- 3:48need to know every answer, you don't
- 3:50need to foresee every obstacle, you
- 3:52don't need to know exactly how it will
- 3:54end.
- 3:54Sure, you will face difficulties,
- 3:56someone will betray your trust.
- 3:59You will suffer for a while, but life,
- 4:01in its wisdom, knows where to lead us.
- 4:04It knows the exact moment, the most
- 4:05authentic path, the rhythm that is right
- 4:07for us.
- 4:09Even when everything seems still and
- 4:11difficult, something inside us keeps
- 4:13moving, just like trees in winter, bare
- 4:15and motionless, yet already ready to
- 4:18bloom.
- 4:20That is why I ask you to trust the
- 4:22process a little more, because this rock
- 4:24will keep spinning, the stars will keep
- 4:26shining, the seasons will keep changing
- 4:29, your heart will keep beating, your
- 4:31breath will keep coming and going, and
- 4:33one day, like everything else, your time
- 4:35on this planet will also end.
- 4:38You will leave behind this body you
- 4:40inhabit.
- 4:40So, why spend all this time trying to
- 4:43control everything?
- 4:46Why not enjoy this incredible journey a
- 4:48little more with some lightness? Why not
- 4:50grant yourself the luxury of not having
- 4:53all the answers ready? Of not knowing
- 4:55exactly what will happen tomorrow?
- 4:57Of not knowing when you will reach your
- 5:00goals, of living a day without having to
- 5:02plan every single minute, of looking at
- 5:04the sky and remembering how incredibly
- 5:06wonderful it is to be here.
- 5:09Do your part, work hard to achieve your
- 5:11dreams. Love, explore, laugh, make
- 5:13mistakes.
- 5:15And when something slips out of your
- 5:17control, breathe and let go, because you
- 5:20are here on this tiny rock spinning in
- 5:23the immensity of space, and as worried
- 5:25as you might feel, you are part of
- 5:28something incredibly vast, and
- 5:30ultimately, life sustains itself—it
- 5:32doesn't need our constant worrying.
