  1. 0:00Russian officials say seven people have
  2. 0:02been killed and 50 others injured in
  3. 0:04Ukrainian drone attacks overnight.
  4. 0:07That set an oil depot and two warehouses
  5. 0:10belonging to Russia's biggest online
  6. 0:12retailers on fire. This is the moment
  7. 0:15the warehouse collapsed in flames.
  8. 0:19Huge clouds of smoke could be seen then
  9. 0:22in the skies. The mayor of Moscow said
  10. 0:24more than 370 drones were sent towards
  11. 0:27the capital region overnight. Ukraine
  12. 0:29hasn't commented. Let's talk to our
  13. 0:31correspondent Paul Adams who's in Kyiv.
  14. 0:34Paul, extraordinarily dramatic pictures.
  15. 0:36Tell us the extent of these Ukrainian
  16. 0:38drone attacks.
  17. 0:41>> Well, look, I think it's worth pointing
  18. 0:43out that both Russia and Ukraine have
  19. 0:45been hitting each other's economic
  20. 0:47infrastructure, and particularly energy
  21. 0:49infrastructure, for a long time, and
  22. 0:52some of those attacks are deep, deep
  23. 0:54inside Russia. I think what is different
  24. 0:55about this is that I think this is the
  25. 0:57first time that Ukrainians have hit
  26. 1:01this Wildberries online retailer, where
  27. 1:05these warehouses.
  28. 1:07This is an unusual development. It
  29. 1:09mirrors something that the you the
  30. 1:11Russians have been doing in Ukraine for
  31. 1:13quite a long time. But, what President
  32. 1:15Zelenskyy has said is that these depots
  33. 1:19are used to store and transport key
  34. 1:23components that go into the Russian
  35. 1:26drones that are used to target
  36. 1:28Ukrainian cities. Some
  37. 1:31defense experts I've been talking to
  38. 1:33really confirm that. They say that
  39. 1:35Wildberries is a place that a lot of of
  40. 1:38Russian military go to for their
  41. 1:39supplies, and that it is part,
  42. 1:42effectively, part of the logistics
  43. 1:44network used by the Russian military. I
  44. 1:48dare say the Kremlin would take a
  45. 1:49different view of that. Certainly, from
  46. 1:52the scenes that we have seen, this
  47. 1:54caused absolute havoc and panic among
  48. 1:57the civilian staff uh manning the
  49. 1:59warehouse. The The attack started at
  50. 2:01night. We've seen scenes of people
  51. 2:04injured and panic-stricken inside the
  52. 2:06warehouse. And then those attacks
  53. 2:08continued uh into the daytime. And we've
  54. 2:11seen video of drones hitting and uh
  55. 2:14members of staff fleeing again in panic.
  56. 2:17So, this was a pretty bold attack and a
  57. 2:20new development in terms of the sorts of
  58. 2:23targets that Ukraine now feels it is
  59. 2:25entitled to go after.
  60. 2:27>> Well, what effect are these continuing
  61. 2:31drone strikes having more widely on
  62. 2:33Russia? We've been hearing about fuel
  63. 2:34shortages for some time now.
  64. 2:38>> Yeah, and I think that remains one of
  65. 2:40the the key features of Ukraine's
  66. 2:42long-range strikes. And in fact, there
  67. 2:45was another uh depot oil depot hit in
  68. 2:48last night's attacks. And the uh cloud
  69. 2:51of smoke hanging over that depot is
  70. 2:53pretty thick. Uh the effect has been to
  71. 2:57deny uh parts of the Russian military
  72. 3:00the vital supplies that they need in
  73. 3:02terms of fuel and other
  74. 3:05uh petroleum supplies. Uh and in fact,
  75. 3:08to make life difficult for Russian
  76. 3:10civilians altogether. In Crimea, you
  77. 3:13know, we've already had reports of
  78. 3:16rationing and people being told to
  79. 3:17conserve uh energy, uh that petrol is in
  80. 3:21very very short supply.
  81. 3:23Um this is a very concerted effort by
  82. 3:27Ukraine to do to Russia what Russia has
  83. 3:30been doing to Ukraine for some time,
  84. 3:32which is to starve the country of as
  85. 3:34much energy as it possibly can.
  86. 3:37>> Paul, thank you very much. Paul Adams in
  87. 3:39Kyiv.
