UEFA Champions League *MATCHDAY 2* Prediction — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00Hello. Ladies and gentlemen, club
- 0:01football is finally back after the
- 0:03extended international break. We just
- 0:05saw a quick glimpse on how club teams
- 0:07did respond since being back. So, of
- 0:09course, it's time to share my
- 0:10predictions of the second match day of
- 0:12the Champions League. Last time I had a
- 0:14few misses, but overall mostly correct
- 0:17in terms of the right win, draw, or loss
- 0:19outcome. But as always, let me know
- 0:21where I went wrong by leaving your
- 0:22predictions in the comments below. Leave
- 0:24an early like and subscribe if you're
- 0:26new for much more Champions League
- 0:28content. If you follow this channel
- 0:29regularly, you probably know that I
- 0:31prefer international break over club
- 0:33football, but definitely not this time.
- 0:36I'm very relieved it's over. That's
- 0:37because my national team, Croatia,
- 0:39suffered their worst defeat in history,
- 0:41conceding seven goals and scoring none.
- 0:43I don't even know what to rate that
- 0:45performance because my friend's team the
- 0:47other week wasn't that great either. I
- 0:49filmed them with the Xbox Go Falcon, an
- 0:51AI camera which was able to track their
- 0:52performance and they conceded nine goals
- 0:55which gave them a 4.92 out of 10 rating.
- 0:58The craziest thing is they still got six
- 1:00goals themselves that match and they
- 1:02still got that brutal of a rating. Hey,
- 1:04that's at least better than my national
- 1:05team. Xbox Go Falcon allows you to track
- 1:07any motion of play, giving you the best
- 1:09highlights of your game effortlessly
- 1:11without needing anyone to manually pan
- 1:13your camera. It's super easy to set up
- 1:15and comes with this huge tripod. You
- 1:17just place it right off the halfway
- 1:18marker on the pitch and it's ready to
- 1:20go. And once you upload your recording,
- 1:22their pro soccer tool allows you to find
- 1:24any key moments throughout the game.
- 1:25Breaking it down here with goals, shots
- 1:27on target, corners, penalties, saves,
- 1:30shots, and free kicks. So, even though
- 1:32my friend side did not have the best
- 1:34night, it's all good as there's a full
- 1:36overview on the attack and defense
- 1:37analytics so we can see what they need
- 1:39to improve on. You're also able to see
- 1:41how many goals, shots on target,
- 1:42assists, and saves were made. Yeah, it's
- 1:45obviously great to get this type of data
- 1:46along with the effortless footage on
- 1:48your end as the Xbox Go Falcon model has
- 1:50made huge improvements with their
- 1:52tracking and zooms allowing you to get
- 1:54some of the best footage possible and
- 1:55you can do the same with many other
- 1:57sports. If you want to improve your game
- 1:59as well, make sure you click the link in
- 2:00the description of this video. Anyway,
- 2:03let's get into it. Starting off with
- 2:04Lance versus Sporting. Lance have been
- 2:06doing my head in. I'm not going to lie.
- 2:08The last Champions League match day must
- 2:10have been so heartbreaking for their
- 2:12opposition. sparked the Praa looking
- 2:14like they were actually going to pull it
- 2:15off despite having a red card for nearly
- 2:17the entire second half. Thurm scoring a
- 2:19beautiful brace and what looked to be
- 2:21the winner in the 88th minute, but Lon's
- 2:23response was to score two goals in
- 2:26stoppage time to win the match
- 2:28themselves. Anyway, despite Top Mer
- 2:30finding a way in his first Champions
- 2:32League match with the club along with
- 2:33winning the French Super Cup over PSG at
- 2:35the beginning of the season, they
- 2:37decided to get rid of him as they did
- 2:38not like his assistant coach and thought
- 2:41Mhler refused to be separated from him
- 2:43from my understanding. Now they got
- 2:44Yanni Kawuzzak who was also just an
- 2:46assistant coach for the club, but since
- 2:48he has taken proper charge, he's gone
- 2:50one win, one loss. This side definitely
- 2:52have some solid attackers like Fani
- 2:54Ivanovic, Dalvin. However, this side
- 2:56have not convinced me defensively.
- 2:58whatsoever. They haven't kept a clean
- 3:00sheet since that PSG victory in the
- 3:02French Super Cup final. That being said,
- 3:05Sporting's defense has not been so
- 3:06brilliant either. In fact, prior to the
- 3:08international break, things seemed a bit
- 3:10concerning. They picked up two draws,
- 3:12even blowing a very early 2-nil lead.
- 3:15But they just responded well, getting a
- 3:16huge away win over Braa. Honestly, this
- 3:18club is in a pretty similar situation in
- 3:20my opinion. Brilliant attackers to
- 3:22utilize. Luis Suarez's numbers are still
- 3:24great, but the defense has some solid
- 3:26names on paper, but still they randomly
- 3:28let their side down. With Sporting being
- 3:30away, that's my only real concern. I
- 3:32wouldn't be surprised if this match
- 3:34finishes in a draw, but I'm going to
- 3:36just lean towards Sporting doing it. I
- 3:38do think both teams will get on the
- 3:40score sheet, though. I'm seeing Sporting
- 3:42pull it off with a 23 win away. Rui
- 3:45Borggas is obviously way more
- 3:47established right now in his managerial
- 3:48role and yeah, Sporting definitely have
- 3:51a recent resume as of late themselves,
- 3:53just making it pretty far in the
- 3:54Champions League. So, I do think that
- 3:56they're the safer team to back here, but
- 3:59maybe only just. We'll see. Moving on
- 4:01now to Saba versus Slavia Praha. One of
- 4:03the more underrated matches in this
- 4:05match day. Like I talked about though,
- 4:07Slavia Praa had absolute heartbreak in
- 4:10the last one. They were minutes away
- 4:12from actually winning their first match.
- 4:14Now, they very much need to grab three
- 4:16points here. Although, it's not going to
- 4:18necessarily be easy despite Saba looking
- 4:20like a huge underdog. In Saba's debut
- 4:22Champions League match, the 9-year-old
- 4:24club got destroyed by Manchester United
- 4:26at Old Trafford. But now, obviously,
- 4:28they're home and we all know how
- 4:30passionate Azerbaijani clubs can be. Not
- 4:32to mention within the Champions League
- 4:34qualifiers themselves, the amount of
- 4:35time Saba turned it around at their own
- 4:37home ground. And after the United loss,
- 4:39they have picked up their form.
- 4:41Unfortunately failing to score though in
- 4:42the most recent match after the
- 4:44international break. Slavia Praha did
- 4:46not let that lon's loss phase them too
- 4:48much as well. They've been cruising
- 4:49through in the Czech league and cup even
- 4:51defeating some top opponents like
- 4:53Victoria Pizzen. One concern for Slavia
- 4:55Praa though is their main defender
- 4:57Chalupek is ruled out with an injury.
- 4:59This one's a really tough one to call.
- 5:01Obviously Slavia Praa are the favorites
- 5:03on paper but you can't rule out Saba.
- 5:06They're going to want to do something in
- 5:07this Champions League where it's a
- 5:09miracle that they're here in the first
- 5:11place obviously, but they fully deserve
- 5:13it. Getting some very convincing results
- 5:15at home, like I said, already within
- 5:17Europe. So, I just believe in Saba to
- 5:19get some points in this Champions
- 5:20League. I don't know if they'll be able
- 5:22to escape this group, but I'm going to
- 5:24say they get their first win. They pull
- 5:26off a 2-1 victory at their own home
- 5:28ground. Moving on out to Galatasai
- 5:30versus Barcelona. There is a clear
- 5:33favorite in this one. Obviously, no one
- 5:35wants to travel to Rams Park on a
- 5:37European night. That is one of the most
- 5:38hostile atmospheres you could ask for in
- 5:41the Champions League. Barcelona's
- 5:42results have not just been good. They
- 5:44have been 10 out of 10 nearly every
- 5:46single week. Right now, they are easily
- 5:48one of the most informed teams in all of
- 5:50Europe. When you look at the scores,
- 5:52they're truly just scoring goals for fun
- 5:54every single week. I mean, now it's
- 5:55considered a shock if they score less
- 5:57than three. One huge concern for
- 5:59Barcelona, though, is that their
- 6:00striker, Rafiniah, is likely to be ruled
- 6:02out. He sat out against Gafe after the
- 6:04international break ended, but prior to
- 6:06that he scored backto back hat-ticks and
- 6:09has been on an unreal run already
- 6:11scoring 14 goals in eight matches. So
- 6:14obviously not having him as a blow, but
- 6:15Barcelona still have the depth to cover.
- 6:17Jesus can now prove his worth. And on
- 6:19the wing, Anthony Gordon has been
- 6:21ridiculous. Somehow only just scoring
- 6:23his first goal for Barcelona this
- 6:24weekend, but prior he was distributing
- 6:26so many assists. We all know Yamal's
- 6:28brilliance as well. His form has been
- 6:30excellent even in the international
- 6:31break. I can go on and on about each of
- 6:33their players. Barcelona are not only
- 6:35looking like the best side in the world
- 6:36right now, but also they are one of the
- 6:38most fun sides to watch. It's going to
- 6:40be very tough for Galatasai to defend
- 6:43against them as Galatasai have not been
- 6:45convincing whatsoever defensively
- 6:47recently and as a whole have not been up
- 6:50to par compared to their normal selves.
- 6:52Obviously, they have been missing Osman
- 6:54for some time which was a huge loss.
- 6:55that's their key striker. But still that
- 6:57loss to Sporting then getting demolished
- 6:59to throbs on Sport. Of course, now that
- 7:01Osman returned, he came on as a sub.
- 7:03Galatasai were able to register a home
- 7:06win, but still conceded there.
- 7:07Obviously, with Osiman regaining his
- 7:09fitness, that's a huge boost for
- 7:10Galatasai to have him back on a European
- 7:13night like this, but again, I'm just
- 7:14concerned for this side defensively. I
- 7:17do think they might be able to find
- 7:18themselves on the score sheet at Rams
- 7:20Park, but I'm still going for Barcelona
- 7:22to win this one. I'm gonna say it's an
- 7:24outrageous score as well of five to2.
- 7:27Moving on to Leipig versus PSV. This one
- 7:30is very tough to call in my opinion.
- 7:32Maybe some of you think it's obvious as
- 7:33Leipig just destroyed Frankfurt this
- 7:35weekend. In Kunku being back at his
- 7:37beloved club, he just scored a hat-tick
- 7:40too. But even with Leipig's recent
- 7:41success in the Bundesliga, it's still
- 7:43just so hard to trust them within
- 7:45Europe. We'll never forget about the
- 7:47first time we saw this league phase. But
- 7:48also, they just got destroyed by Ko 41.
- 7:51Their form has just been way too back
- 7:53and forth when you look at the recent
- 7:54matches. This could be another off game
- 7:56for them, especially considering PSV
- 7:59have been able to dismantle some very
- 8:01respectful sides within UEFA before.
- 8:03Betic still balling out at his age.
- 8:05Bodakovic finally getting the chance
- 8:07with the club this season. Vanbal's been
- 8:09one of my favorite players to watch for
- 8:11the Netherlands in the Chavi era. Some
- 8:13of their forwards might be injured, but
- 8:14Till's been their top goal scorer so
- 8:16far. I feel like Leipzig will be able to
- 8:18show themselves dominantly at first, but
- 8:20for some reason I see PSV responding. It
- 8:22finishes in a high-scoring 2-2 draw.
- 8:25Moving on to Arsenal versus Le.
- 8:27Obviously, football is full of
- 8:29surprises, but this might be one of the
- 8:32more clear-cut matches in my opinion.
- 8:34Arsenal obviously had that shock of a
- 8:35loss when traveling to Brighton, but
- 8:37that was their only loss this season and
- 8:39they picked their form back up against
- 8:40Leads. Few bet injuries for this side
- 8:42though obviously like Celiba in the back
- 8:44line and Solis but still Gimodayish has
- 8:46proven to be an excellent signing so
- 8:48far. They're so compact in the midfield
- 8:50as a whole with the other options they
- 8:52have. While Le have been putting off
- 8:53some good fights but they have still
- 8:54been way too back and forth in form.
- 8:56Barely winning at home despite their
- 8:58opposition getting a red card in the
- 8:59second half losing to Nice before that
- 9:02and also losing to Real Bethis in their
- 9:04first Champions League match. Let's also
- 9:05not forget they will be missing Ethan
- 9:07Mbappe for this match due to his
- 9:09horrible lack of judgment against Real
- 9:11Vetes. I do rate some of the signings
- 9:13like aa the top goal scorer the air
- 9:14devis last season but Arsenal are just
- 9:16too well established right now for this
- 9:18match to be at the Emirates. I cannot
- 9:20see an upset even with Celipa injured. I
- 9:23think Arsenal can pull off a clean sheet
- 9:24here. I'm going to say it finishes
- 9:262-nil. Moving on out to one of the more
- 9:28highly anticipated matches, Atletico
- 9:31Madrid versus Manchester United. Man
- 9:33United getting their first win back in
- 9:35the Champions League, but that was to
- 9:36Saba. Now, a huge test awaits them. But
- 9:39I'm sure many of their fans are nervous
- 9:40as this weekend did not go to plan.
- 9:43Despite the winless Tottenham getting a
- 9:45red card, they were able to equalize in
- 9:48stoppage time. That means since that
- 9:50Saba victory in the Champions League,
- 9:51Manchester United have not won a single
- 9:54match. They're currently 13th place in
- 9:56the league with just six points. Not
- 9:58what many were expecting with Carrick at
- 10:00the helm. After taking charge last
- 10:02season, many were optimistic about him.
- 10:04But this is now Manchester United's
- 10:06worst start to the Premier League since
- 10:071986. There's been a huge lack of
- 10:10intensity from some of the players. They
- 10:12seem a bit sluggish. So to go in with
- 10:14that type of form traveling to Madrid,
- 10:16it's not going to be easy cuz Atlety's
- 10:18form has been the complete opposite.
- 10:20They lost their first Champions League
- 10:21match to Liverpool, but then they've won
- 10:23every single one since, even defeating
- 10:26Real Madrid. Bayern on the wing's been
- 10:28so good for them. Jonathan David's been
- 10:30a solid signing so far. Obviously,
- 10:32there's been all that Alvarez drama, but
- 10:34they have so much depth in the attack.
- 10:36The other new signings are clicking as
- 10:37well. Curaldo and Kangin Lee have been
- 10:39great. But honestly, it's very shocking
- 10:41that Manchester United have been this
- 10:42poor. Bruno Fernandez breaking the
- 10:44assist record in the Premier League last
- 10:46season. Has now only had one match this
- 10:48season where he actually put off some
- 10:50numbers, scoring a hat-tick against
- 10:52Ipsswich to be fair, but still he's
- 10:54disappeared in the other fixtures. Even
- 10:56against Tottenham this weekend, it took
- 10:57him some time to complete his first pass
- 10:59in the match. Yeah, sometimes even when
- 11:01the Premier League sides are in poor
- 11:03form, they show their class in European
- 11:04football. But with Atletico Madrid being
- 11:07in very good form, it's too hard for me
- 11:09to see Manchester United pulling off in
- 11:11a way win here. I think Atletico Madrid
- 11:13will do it narrowly, but still pick up
- 11:14the three points. It finishes 2-1 for
- 11:17Atleti. Moving on now to definitely one
- 11:19of the tougher matches to predict this
- 11:20week. Villa Royale versus Napoli. Both
- 11:23these sides are obviously quite highly
- 11:25regarded when you look at their sides on
- 11:26paper. However, both massively
- 11:28disappointed last season in the
- 11:30Champions League, getting eliminated in
- 11:31the league phase. Very especially being
- 11:34one of the worst sides in the
- 11:35competition. They put off a good fight
- 11:36against Dormund, but eventually lost
- 11:38have been continuing to lose against the
- 11:40other La Liga clubs that are in the
- 11:42Champions League like Real Bet and Real
- 11:43Madrid, but were able to win quite
- 11:45comfortably against Malaga and Levante.
- 11:47Napoli. There's been so much speculation
- 11:49with this side with Allegri at the helm
- 11:51and people including me continue to
- 11:52judge him after some poor performances,
- 11:54but he did keep it close against some
- 11:56highly respected opposition. Ko have
- 11:58been on the rise. They still scored
- 12:00twice against Inter and they only lost
- 12:02to Arsenal by one goal. Competition has
- 12:05smeared down a tad bit in terms of the
- 12:07teams on paper and now they are
- 12:09undefeated since that Arsenal loss. Huge
- 12:11problem for Napoli though is they do
- 12:12have a good amount of injuries.
- 12:14Thankfully, De Bruyne isn't one of them,
- 12:15and at times he's been really clutch
- 12:17this season, even for his national team.
- 12:19Neither of these sides are convincing me
- 12:21as a whole. Anything is possible here.
- 12:23Of course, both definitely need to
- 12:24regain their confidence within the
- 12:26Champions League. So, it will feel like
- 12:28a mustwin for both, but I'm saying it
- 12:30finishes in a stale draw. It's going to
- 12:32finish 1-1, I think. Now, moving on to
- 12:34Viking versus Byron. Very excited to see
- 12:36how this one goes as a whole. Viking,
- 12:38from what I've seen, unfortunately, is
- 12:40not a fun ground to travel to. The fans
- 12:42are going to enjoy no matter what having
- 12:44their first match on their Champions
- 12:45League home ground. And who knows how
- 12:46it's going to go because Bayern
- 12:48struggled to Augsburg this weekend.
- 12:50Unfortunately, there's a lot of question
- 12:52marks for Neuer now as thanks to Azair
- 12:53at the beginning of the match, Augsburg
- 12:55scored the fastest goal in Bundesliga
- 12:57history against Bayern Munich. That slip
- 12:59up surprisingly has Bayern in third
- 13:01place now, but they are still one of the
- 13:03three undefeated sides. And prior they
- 13:05got some very dominant home victories
- 13:07against Union Berlin. They scored seven
- 13:08and in the first Champions League match
- 13:10against Bolo. only scored five. But
- 13:12that's the thing, they've been poor away
- 13:13when you look at all their other scores.
- 13:15Like I said, drawing with Augsburg,
- 13:16barely defeating a newly promoted club
- 13:18and even drawing with Shala with a
- 13:20goalless draw. So, it's definitely going
- 13:22to be interesting to see if they can
- 13:23improve their away form now. It's
- 13:25definitely still safer to back them when
- 13:27you look at the individual talent they
- 13:28have up top. Canon still got ridiculous
- 13:31numbers this international break. Oise's
- 13:33performances in particular were insanely
- 13:35impressive. Viking. Yes, they're coming
- 13:36into this match as huge underdogs, but
- 13:38they do have some electric components on
- 13:41their team that can throw off Bayern. I
- 13:43got to keep emphasizing him. Their
- 13:44captain's LCO Tripic, he is their best
- 13:47playmaker, getting 20 assists in the
- 13:49elite city in this season. And despite
- 13:51losing to another Bundesliga club
- 13:53previously, Stokart, he got himself on
- 13:55the score sheet in that match, too. That
- 13:57being said, it is much safer to back
- 13:58Bayern here. But with their
- 14:00instabilities at moments, I wouldn't be
- 14:02surprised if Viking get on the score
- 14:03sheet. I'm going to say Byron win, but
- 14:05it does take them some time to click.
- 14:07Still, it finishes 3-1 for the German
- 14:10Giants. Moving on out to Inter versus
- 14:12Club Bruge. Unfortunately, a very poor
- 14:15matchup for Club Bruge. I was expecting
- 14:17them to maybe frustrate a struggling
- 14:19Aston Villa in the opener. And although
- 14:20they ended up putting off a good fight
- 14:22at the end, they're continuing to score
- 14:23a decent amount of goals, they still
- 14:25conceded way too much and show that they
- 14:27do struggle defensively. That being
- 14:29said, insert that are known for their
- 14:30solid defensive ability have been really
- 14:32poor there as well. They just sharpened
- 14:34up against Parma to be fair, getting
- 14:36their first clean sheets since August,
- 14:38but in all of September, they conceded
- 14:39no less than two goals in each match.
- 14:42Not the easiest schedule by any means,
- 14:43and they still showed their fighting
- 14:44grit in these matches. I mean, in many
- 14:46of those City affairs, they were 2-nil
- 14:48down and still found a way. They have
- 14:50been one of the most entertaining teams
- 14:52to watch without a doubt. And with them
- 14:54playing at their own home ground in
- 14:55Milan, I just cannot see Club Rouge
- 14:57winning here. Club Rouge have picked up
- 14:59their form since that Aston Villa loss,
- 15:01but I just cannot see Inter making this
- 15:02easy for them. Maybe they will concede
- 15:04quite a bit, but still Inter showing
- 15:06their dominance. They went 4-2. Moving
- 15:09on to Lask versus Liverpool. Definitely
- 15:11a clear favorite on paper here. Many
- 15:13were disappointed with Liverpool this
- 15:14weekend for not defeating Manchester
- 15:16City after their 114 charges, but that
- 15:18red card definitely threw them off,
- 15:20which by the way was a questionable
- 15:22decision in the first place. Definitely
- 15:24not an ideal result for Liverpool's
- 15:25morale, but they have to keep in mind
- 15:28despite all the controversy Manchester
- 15:30City are going through, they are
- 15:31obviously a brilliant squad and just
- 15:33handled that pressure well. Lask I'd
- 15:35like to think is more manageable, but
- 15:36they should still not rule them out.
- 15:38Very underrated attacking pieces with
- 15:40the Denidan to us. Elij has had some
- 15:43solid moments for the national team, but
- 15:45he did have some poor misses against
- 15:46Ike. Still Kristoff Lang is their top
- 15:48goal scorer right now. Despite some of
- 15:50those strikers getting a decent tally
- 15:52though the form has not been good
- 15:53overall. Along with that Ike loss, they
- 15:55have not won any matches after.
- 15:57Liverpool's injury list is definitely
- 15:58quite concerning especially up top with
- 16:00Isak and Nekitke both out. Everyone's
- 16:02questioning Vertz's ability again after
- 16:04that Man City loss. Despite some of the
- 16:06recent struggles, I am expecting
- 16:08Liverpool to come out on top here and I
- 16:10think they're going to get a 3-nil away
- 16:12win. Moving on now to Fordo versus Ko.
- 16:15Obviously, Fenord had that heavy loss to
- 16:17Barcelona on the first match day, but
- 16:19other than that, they've been impressive
- 16:20this season. 14 goals scored in their
- 16:22last three matches and none conceded.
- 16:25Zachiel has been absolutely brilliant
- 16:27for them, getting so many goals and
- 16:29assists. But Komao as a whole have been
- 16:30making obviously so much headlines for
- 16:32their insane rise in football. In their
- 16:35Champions League debut, they got one
- 16:36hell of a win against Leipzig, but have
- 16:38oddly slowed down a tad bit since. a
- 16:40narrow win against Parma and then
- 16:42haven't scored in their last two
- 16:43matches, even losing to newly promoted
- 16:45Froson. Still, even in those matches,
- 16:47they had some electric moments, just got
- 16:49unlucky at times. Fine Art have
- 16:51obviously been great defensively apart
- 16:52from that Barcelona match, but what can
- 16:54you do? It's Barcelona, but I think they
- 16:56might start to concede once again
- 16:58because Ko do have some brilliant
- 16:59attackers. That being said, I definitely
- 17:01see Feer getting on the score sheet a
- 17:03few times themselves. For me, this one's
- 17:05going to be very high scoring. Tough to
- 17:06pick a winner. I'm settling for a 2-2
- 17:09draw. Moving on now to Shaktar versus
- 17:11Ike. Very tough one to call. Two
- 17:14quoteunquote underdogs in the Champions
- 17:16League. Many were backing PSV to do it
- 17:18against Shaktar, but that finished in a
- 17:19draw. And since Shaktar have had very
- 17:21dominant displays in their own domestic
- 17:23league, not conceding a single goal
- 17:25since there's been some speculation with
- 17:27Turk just sacking Montella. Many are
- 17:29saying that Ardo Turan will take the
- 17:31helm instead. Hopefully, that doesn't
- 17:33impact any of the morale within the side
- 17:34as he still has that shockard job.
- 17:36Obviously, Ike got that very narrow but
- 17:39muchneeded win against Laskque. And
- 17:40despite getting a few underwhelming
- 17:42draws, they are still undefeated this
- 17:44season. Ike have been missing Varga who
- 17:46has been in great form and I believe he
- 17:48is set to return for this fixture.
- 17:50That's obviously a huge boost when he
- 17:51got the likes of Luca Yoic as well, but
- 17:53unfortunately their main goalkeeper
- 17:55Strakosha will still be ruled out as
- 17:56he's got a hand injury. I know Ike fans
- 17:59want to be hopeful for this one. I might
- 18:00lean towards them if this was played at
- 18:02their own home ground, but with this
- 18:04being played in London, I'm probably
- 18:06gonna go for Shaktar to just do it with
- 18:09a 2-1 victory. The depth they have with
- 18:12all that Brazilian talent is outrageous.
- 18:14And yeah, their confidence is looking
- 18:16pretty good. Won't be surprised if it
- 18:18finishes in a draw instead, but I'm
- 18:20going to back Shaktar here. Moving on
- 18:21now to Real Betes versus Porto. Real
- 18:24Betes just coming off of a 52 victory
- 18:27over Asasuna. They randomly have a shaky
- 18:29defensive performance, but still quite
- 18:31often score a lot. So many of the
- 18:33attackers pulling through, but in
- 18:34particular, I'm really impressed with
- 18:36how impactful East Coast still is in
- 18:382026. For just got a narrowway victory,
- 18:41but overall have been in good form since
- 18:43that Manchester City loss. This side
- 18:45just might need some time to click. I
- 18:46mean, one of their main strikers
- 18:48previously, Aahoa, is just recovering
- 18:50from his injury and finally getting some
- 18:52minutes after all this time. I do see
- 18:54them improving as the season goes on. It
- 18:57might be tough against Real Betis
- 18:58obviously, but I definitely see them
- 19:00having a more solid defensive display
- 19:02compared to some of Real Betis'
- 19:04opposition. They have one of the best
- 19:05goalkeepers in this tournament, and
- 19:07Kivar and Benk have been an incredible
- 19:09partnership. I think Asparini will
- 19:11adjust his tactics to be more
- 19:12defensively composed and maybe squeeze
- 19:14out a goal here. It could be a nil-nil
- 19:17draw, but I'm going to say it finishes 1
- 19:19nil for Real Betis. Moving on out to
- 19:21Roma versus Real Madrid. Both of these
- 19:24sides just got bitter red cards over the
- 19:26weekend. Malin getting sent off in the
- 19:28second half in their nil no jaw to Ko
- 19:30and then Real Madrid were able to defeat
- 19:32Villa Real, but Venicius Jr. came on as
- 19:34a sub, scored a goal that was ruled off
- 19:36for off sides, then committed one of the
- 19:38easiest red cards ever seen, but decided
- 19:41to act completely shocked about the
- 19:42decision. Obviously, he'll be suspended
- 19:44in La Liga and not this fixture. Same
- 19:46goes for Mullen, obviously. But yeah,
- 19:48although Real Madrid are the favorites
- 19:50on paper, the fact that they're
- 19:51traveling away to one of the more
- 19:53informed teams this season, it's too
- 19:55tough to rule out the Italian side. Roma
- 19:57are currently one of the undefeated four
- 19:59city sides. And although they have
- 20:01slowed down recently, they were scoring
- 20:03loads of goals prior. Malan and Dybala
- 20:05were forming a terrific partnership.
- 20:07Cone to me is still currently one of the
- 20:09most underrated midfielders. And yet,
- 20:10Gasparini is a manager I very much
- 20:12highly rate in the city. Getting Roma to
- 20:15shine bright. They do have some great
- 20:16defenders to utilize. However, their
- 20:18main goalkeeper, Spillard, does have a
- 20:21broken finger and he will be ruled out
- 20:23for this fixture. Real Madrid do have
- 20:24some injuries in the backline
- 20:26themselves, but something tells me
- 20:27they'll squeeze through in this one.
- 20:28Will be interesting to see Jose Mourinho
- 20:30return to his former club. I'm sure the
- 20:32Roma fans adore him for getting them
- 20:34their first European trophy. But yeah,
- 20:36that feeler injury definitely has me
- 20:38concerned. Real Madrid, despite their
- 20:40imperfections as of late, they're a side
- 20:42that will 100% take advantage if you
- 20:44show any mistakes in that back line. We
- 20:46saw it against Inter, another city
- 20:48outside. Real Madrid were able to just
- 20:50squeeze through with two early goals
- 20:52from some Inter mistakes. One of them
- 20:53being from their goalkeeper. So I won't
- 20:55be surprised if this one could finish in
- 20:57a draw. But I am just going to lean
- 21:00towards Real Madrid to do it narrowly.
- 21:02Probably once again, just like that
- 21:04inter result, even if they're away this
- 21:06time, I'm going for 2-1. Moving on now
- 21:08to Sloven Bratislava versus Stoodkart.
- 21:11Stokart had a great start to their
- 21:12Champions League campaign against
- 21:14Viking. The Mudovic becoming the fastest
- 21:16ever Bosnian to score a hat-tick in the
- 21:18Champions League. They have lost a few
- 21:19matches after but to some admirable
- 21:21opponents. They picked up their form
- 21:23after and I'm expecting them to get a
- 21:24win to Slovar Batislava even if they're
- 21:27away. Yaya Toé unfortunately had a
- 21:29brutal Champions League debut. Nothing
- 21:30to be ashamed of to be fair was against
- 21:32PSG. But yeah, conceding six goals and
- 21:35since Lauren Batislava have been very
- 21:37leaky. You know, I want to see Yaya do
- 21:39well. But yeah, I do think Stuckard's
- 21:41draw in the Champions League was not too
- 21:43bad at all. by any means. So, I'm
- 21:45expecting them to take advantage of the
- 21:46matches where they are favored. I'm
- 21:48going to say despite being away, they
- 21:50will win 4-1. Moving on out to Aston
- 21:52Villa versus Fenerbachce. This is
- 21:54actually the last European match I've
- 21:56watched live when Fenabach were the home
- 21:58side in the Europa League. In that
- 22:00match, it was a narrow loss for Fenner.
- 22:02Since then, Aston Villa have definitely
- 22:04gotten a bit worse in form and have lost
- 22:06a lot of key players. But obviously,
- 22:08competition in the Premier League has
- 22:09gotten a lot higher. For example, their
- 22:11draw against Brenford. Brenford have
- 22:12been doing very well this season so far.
- 22:14Fenerbachce could definitely put off a
- 22:16good fight though. They impressively got
- 22:17a draw against Roma in the first match
- 22:19day. And since then they have only
- 22:21getting clean sheets and everything,
- 22:22even getting an 8-nil win where Marici
- 22:25scored four goals. Huge news for
- 22:27Fenobachce though, their midfielder,
- 22:29Guendozi, who was suspended from the
- 22:31Champions League for a while due to his
- 22:33celebrations after qualifying them for
- 22:35the competition against Leon, his ban
- 22:37has been revoked now. He is now clear to
- 22:39play against Aston Villa. And when you
- 22:41look at the rest of their squad, they
- 22:42truly do have what it takes. I think
- 22:44Fenobachce have improved. I talked about
- 22:46Murici's goal contributions. They still
- 22:48got Lukaku's reinforcement. Mason
- 22:50Greenwood might be motivated to do
- 22:51something in his home country. Despite
- 22:53Aston Villa's struggles this season, I
- 22:55still feel like they are building that
- 22:57momentum. Obviously, they're going to
- 22:58struggle when they totally revamp their
- 23:00squad. I'm tempted to go for a draw,
- 23:02honestly. But the last time I ruled out
- 23:04Aston Villa for their poor performances,
- 23:05they proved me wrong. I'm a bit afraid
- 23:07to rule them out once again. And I've
- 23:09already seen them beat this side live,
- 23:11so I'm expecting Aston Villa to do it
- 23:13narrowly here 2-1. O, this one's a
- 23:16killer. Manchester City versus PSG. So
- 23:19much speculation on how Manchester City
- 23:21would perform after they were found
- 23:23guilty of those 114 charges. Many
- 23:26thought they would be under the pressure
- 23:27at Anfield, but they destroyed Liverpool
- 23:293-0. Yes, like I mentioned, there was
- 23:31some controversy on that red card, but
- 23:33you still can't take away how brilliant
- 23:35City did respond. Holland continuing to
- 23:38get on the score sheet. Douko with the
- 23:39brilliant finish. Beautiful team goal
- 23:42for Cherokee. I know a lot of football
- 23:43fans are outraged and want to see this
- 23:45football club have their downfall.
- 23:46However, you got to give credit to the
- 23:48manager and the players for handling all
- 23:50this pressure well. I definitely had a
- 23:52good feeling for Mesa being the
- 23:53successor to Pep. Obviously PSG is so
- 23:56highly regarded right now, winning
- 23:57back-to- back Champions Leagues, but I'm
- 23:59not fully confident that they can defeat
- 24:01Manchester City here right now because
- 24:03let's not forget they have somewhat
- 24:05struggled in the league phase despite
- 24:07winning the competition both times. They
- 24:09still have never finished in the top
- 24:11eight of the league phase. And let's not
- 24:12forget Modesca has proved himself
- 24:14against this mighty PSG side in that
- 24:16FIFA Club World Cup final when everyone
- 24:18expected PSG to win that trophy. Chelsea
- 24:21shut them down 3-0. PSG obviously have
- 24:24some of the most established players in
- 24:25their position. It's still hard to judge
- 24:27their domestic results because Luis
- 24:29Enrique is rotating the side randomly.
- 24:31You look at these two sides
- 24:32head-to-head. It's hard to necessarily
- 24:34back either just considering the
- 24:36situation Manchester City are in. And
- 24:38then looking at PSG's unreliability
- 24:40within the league phase. We've seen it
- 24:41many times. They're just slow at the
- 24:43beginning of the season and then find
- 24:45the momentum later on. But with this
- 24:47match being played at the Etiad and
- 24:49Manchester City having a very positive
- 24:51away result, I'm going to back them
- 24:52here. Doesn't mean I'm going to be
- 24:53ruling out PSG in the future, but for
- 24:55this current matchup, I am expecting
- 24:58Manchester City to win. I think it will
- 25:00be close though. Let's go for 3-2. And
- 25:02the final match we are looking at, Bodo
- 25:04Glenn versus Barussio Dortmund. Can
- 25:06Borto take advantage of their very
- 25:08frustrating home ground? It's definitely
- 25:10a possibility as let's not forget these
- 25:12two sides had to come up against one
- 25:13another last time in the league phase
- 25:15where Dormund were the home side and
- 25:17Bodo still pulled off a draw. Obviously
- 25:19Bodo got shut down by Byron in the first
- 25:21match day but let's not forget they were
- 25:23playing away that match and had some key
- 25:24injuries including their fantastic
- 25:26goalkeeper Hiken and Tormund are just
- 25:28way too inconsistent with their form.
- 25:30They randomly absolutely turn up in
- 25:32style but also can heavily disappoint.
- 25:34This weekend for example they just blew
- 25:36a two-nil lead conceding two very late
- 25:38goals. It's obviously great that
- 25:40Schlurtherbeck is fit, but they're still
- 25:41conceding a bit too much. Still
- 25:43sometimes hard to rule out this side
- 25:45when you got the likes of Gedasi who
- 25:46achieved so many Champions League goals
- 25:48the past two seasons. Dormund's defense
- 25:50can definitely be a bit more leaky with
- 25:52playing on this artificial turf on the
- 25:54north of the Arctic Circle. Baldo have
- 25:56just been that new nightmare in the
- 25:57Champions League to travel to. So, I
- 25:59don't know. I won't be surprised
- 26:01obviously if we see the upset with
- 26:02Bodo's home advantage, but I'm going to
- 26:04say it finishes in a draw still 22. But
- 26:07there you have it, guys. all my
- 26:08predictions for Champions League match
