4. 0:14today we'll be exploring a few hip tips

6. 0:17trading in a rhythm section and
7. 0:19supporting each soloist

14. 1:25now that was very good we started off
15. 1:26trading guitar
16. 1:28to drums bass to drums
17. 1:31guitar to drums and then the head out
18. 1:34but there was one thing that i think
19. 1:36might help the situation just a bit now
20. 1:39when we played behind the bass solo
21. 1:41sometimes
22. 1:41the bass may want brushes but in this
23. 1:44situation it's a little more difficult
24. 1:45to just
25. 1:46switch to the brushes now this symbol
26. 1:50has the sizzles so it rings a bit much
27. 1:53so why don't we try trading with the
28. 1:54bass on the other symbol
29. 1:56without the sizzles just to bring it
30. 1:58down just a bit or you can go to the
31. 1:59hi-hat let's just try the trade again

40. 2:44without crashing
41. 2:46so to be a clean start with that bass
42. 2:48solo and see if we can hear that bass
43. 2:50more right so let's just start from the
44. 2:51guitar to drums then bass to drums

48. 3:25did you notice the sound you could hear
49. 3:26the bass a bit more
50. 3:28by starting on the crash symbol here
51. 3:32this symbol is not being played so when
52. 3:34you start here it's a fresh start so you
53. 3:36could actually re-establish the sound
54. 3:37and dynamics of the symbol
55. 3:39versus crashing and it kind of bleeding
56. 3:41over it's kind of like playing a piano
57. 3:43and holding the sustain pedal
58. 3:44and trying to play other chords it kind
59. 3:46of bleeds over could you hear
60. 3:48a little better that was very good that
61. 3:51was just a quick little hip tip
62. 3:53on playing and trading in the rhythm
63. 3:55section and making sure that we can hear
64. 3:57each other
