Tour of my house in Connecticut - Update — Transcript

2. 0:03so a lot of people been asking me to do
3. 0:06an update video on my house my house is
4. 0:08much the same but I've been living here
5. 0:09for about nine months now I've been
6. 0:11working a bit on the garden
7. 0:13um working on the lawn one of my
8. 0:15neighbors when I first moved in here
9. 0:17commented on how bad my lawn was before
10. 0:19I'd even got to know him so I was all
11. 0:22right buddy I'm going to take you on
12. 0:23with the lawn hey Tui come on we're
13. 0:26going to do a tour let's go
14. 0:28in the house
15. 0:30so in through the front door I have a
16. 0:32bowl of sweets for luring children in I
17. 0:34have a picture of my mum hey mum if you
18. 0:37remember when I first did a tour of my
19. 0:39house this room here I wasn't sure what
20. 0:40I was going to do with and subsequently
21. 0:43you may have seen my video on my stereo
22. 0:44equipment but this room has turned into
23. 0:46my favorite room in the house this
24. 0:47little tiny front room gets a lot of sun
25. 0:49and so I sort of did a lot of
26. 0:52colors in here and I put a sofa in here
27. 0:55and I put my my uh my record player and
28. 0:58I move my speakers to the front like
29. 1:00people on the internet that suggested
30. 1:01that I do and I like to sit on this over
31. 1:04here and listen to my records I just
32. 1:06love this room
33. 1:07I put lots of little plants in here and
34. 1:09lots of little toys I've got this neat
35. 1:11um nexi clock from
36. 1:14from Russia that I love and photos of my
37. 1:17family all up here my record player
38. 1:20or photos of my family a Tui and of
39. 1:24course
40. 1:25my classic rock records that I love
41. 1:28books and stuff so forth and of course
42. 1:30my rather phallic collection of cactus
43. 1:35succulent plants so yeah the front room
44. 1:37might just I just love what's what's
45. 1:39happened with the front Roma is a real
46. 1:40surprise how much it's changed and how
47. 1:43much I love it
48. 1:44moving down the hallway here
49. 1:46another room that was blank when I
50. 1:48toured last time was the formal dining
51. 1:50room formal right dining room now has
52. 1:53seating for six or eight and a few other
53. 1:56bits and pieces photos and pictures and
54. 1:58so forth I just got to find another
55. 1:59seven friends and we're all set for
56. 2:01having a dinner party we're doing some
57. 2:04new lighting as well
58. 2:06uh further down the hall the uh
59. 2:09downstairs bathroom has remained
60. 2:11unchanged
61. 2:13uh kitchen is pretty much unchanged my
62. 2:16sister Becky and I are going to repaint
63. 2:17these chairs soon so they match the uh
64. 2:20it's the the blue of the other colors in
65. 2:23this kitchen but yeah the kitchens the
66. 2:25kitchen is really one of the best
67. 2:27features of this house it's such a big
68. 2:28lovely kitchen to work in I just love it
69. 2:31so well alert and it's just easy to use
70. 2:34great great appliances
71. 2:36over here is yet another Tui
72. 2:39a bit of a
73. 2:40bit of a dewy theme in this house and my
74. 2:42goldfish
75. 2:44and other bits and pieces onto the
76. 2:46living room
77. 2:48pretty much just change in the living
78. 2:49room a few other pictures and so forth
79. 2:50have gone up I've changed the carpets in
80. 2:52here I've put a bean bag in here which I
81. 2:54thought was going to be for me but it
82. 2:55turns out it's a Tui there's my gorillas
83. 2:58there's Albert and there's William
84. 2:59[Music]
85. 3:01and into my office
86. 3:03the office I've changed the desk in the
87. 3:06office so I much prefer this desk really
88. 3:08works well in here and I love using this
89. 3:10office
90. 3:13um
91. 3:13quite a little room and it's uh let's
92. 3:16throw to all my YouTube videos for you
93. 3:17fine people of course there's my picture
94. 3:20of my old 911.
95. 3:22and I wanted to show you a couple of
96. 3:24rooms that um that I had didn't show you
97. 3:26last time but before we got into that
98. 3:28we'll go up to the backyard here once
99. 3:30again the backyard is a bit of a work in
100. 3:32progress
101. 3:33it was just a big mud patch when I moved
102. 3:35in so really I've been focused on
103. 3:37getting in the lawn right

105. 3:40so I'm going to plant more trees as I go
106. 3:42but to that corner there I've put some
107. 3:43aggravates to hide that ugly chain link
108. 3:46fence of my neighbors so they'll grow
109. 3:48out and up the back I put hydrangeas so
110. 3:51they'll get bigger and bushier and
111. 3:53they'll sort of hide that back end a bit
112. 3:55better but yeah it's a really lovely big
113. 3:57backyard now and Tui spends a lot of
114. 4:00time out here chasing a ball and
115. 4:02uh yeah I'm really pleased with it so oh
116. 4:04there's my neighbor's dog
117. 4:07um so I put some rhododendrons here
118. 4:09they'll grow up and get nice and Flowery
119. 4:10but yeah it's um oh my dad bought me
120. 4:13this barbecue when I moved in that's
121. 4:15cool
122. 4:16so yeah a lovely backyard I might extend
123. 4:18this deck a little bit out this way
124. 4:20get some deck furniture so that's my
125. 4:22backyard
126. 4:24into the garage it was a bit of a mess
127. 4:26last time I showed you if I remember
128. 4:27I've tidied it up a bit I put some speed
129. 4:29rail to put my tools along the wall
130. 4:31there
131. 4:32here's my golf hey golf
132. 4:34and I put some of my tires up on the
133. 4:36wall those are the tires for the Porsche
134. 4:38actually these are the tires down here
135. 4:40for the BMW that we sold when I sell the
136. 4:42BMW
137. 4:43say hi to the BMW
138. 4:45am4 what's going on brother
139. 4:49um but otherwise yeah no I'm not I'm not
140. 4:51crazy tidy garage guy I'm not going to
141. 4:53put a false floor or any of those crazy
142. 4:55things that people do it just has to be
143. 4:57functional so yeah my garage is
144. 4:59functional
145. 5:01um oh look fireworks you know they're
146. 5:03going to be strapped too
147. 5:06hey Joey let's go let's go
148. 5:08let's go doggy
149. 5:10okay so onto a room that I didn't show
150. 5:12you last time which is the basement
151. 5:15there's nothing been done in the
152. 5:16basement but I wanted to show it to you
153. 5:17this time
154. 5:18because it's one of the rooms that I
155. 5:20want to work on
156. 5:22so down here
157. 5:23just a pretty standard basement here in
158. 5:26the US
159. 5:27and what people in the US tend to do
160. 5:29with their basements is fill them with
161. 5:30and that's what I've done as well
162. 5:32but my basement is huge and it's very
163. 5:36it's got a very even climate it's always
164. 5:39the same temperature somewhere in winter
165. 5:41so I think it's going to be a great
166. 5:43a great room to finish say some stage
167. 5:45it's just enormous so it's got the
168. 5:48plumbing for another bathroom down here
169. 5:50so I think I built another bathroom and
170. 5:52just
171. 5:53finish off the walls and so forth
172. 5:55there's companies that especially do up
173. 5:58basements here in Connecticut so that's
174. 6:00what I do and of course the super I just
175. 6:02store a lot of my crap that I am slowly
176. 6:04putting on Craigslist and getting rid of
177. 6:07so yeah the basement's interesting in
178. 6:09that it's just so huge and so quiet and
179. 6:11so kind of warm sort of even temperature
180. 6:14year round so it's going to be a great
181. 6:17room to do up at some point
182. 6:19so back upstairs
183. 6:22of course are where the bedrooms and the
184. 6:25other two bathrooms are
185. 6:26uh not much has changed in my bedroom
186. 6:30uh I put up some extra
187. 6:32pictures
188. 6:34of New Zealand I put up and I took
189. 6:37myself
190. 6:38yeah so just a few more photographs and
191. 6:40pictures in here
192. 6:43doing it Pig
193. 6:45my bathroom hasn't changed
194. 6:48it's all good
195. 6:49I've started decorating this yellow room
196. 6:52put some pictures up
197. 6:54the carpet in that type of thing I'm
198. 6:56actually going to change the paint color
199. 6:57in this bathroom at the moment it's an
200. 6:59apricot I'm going to change it to a
201. 7:00slate to make the match the floor I
202. 7:03think that'll look better but I'm pretty
203. 7:05pleased with how this room's turned out
204. 7:06this is the blue room I found some
205. 7:09some blue pictures some blue chairs blue
206. 7:11carpets blue everything
207. 7:13a little bit of Ikea furniture as well
208. 7:16but yeah I love this little blue room
209. 7:19and over in here is Becky's room not
210. 7:21much has changed in here
211. 7:23just a few extra pictures and some extra
212. 7:24furniture
213. 7:26yeah it's a nice quiet room this one
214. 7:30and I have my uh
215. 7:32my laundry in here
216. 7:35so this is the other room I wanted to
217. 7:36show you guys is up here is my attic
218. 7:40and it's another room that's unfinished
219. 7:47and it's another huge area
220. 7:50that is
221. 7:52available to be finished in this house
222. 7:54and I think I might do this before the
223. 7:56basement it's just an enormous space
224. 7:59and it's uh pre-piped for air
225. 8:01conditioning and so forth
226. 8:03it just needs to be finished off the
227. 8:05walls and edges and so forth
228. 8:08so yeah I'd be excited to get this room
229. 8:10done I think this will add a lot of
230. 8:11value to the house
231. 8:13so there you have it quick update to my
232. 8:15house how things are coming along I'll
233. 8:17probably do another one in a year or so
234. 8:18once I have my Garden's a little bit
235. 8:19more established comfortable yeah
