Three People Who Hate VDM — Transcript

1. 0:01Yes, good evening. So, for good or ill,
2. 0:03every human being was created with
3. 0:05certain traits that make them who they
4. 0:07are, you know, different and unique. In
5. 0:10last couple of weeks, there have been
6. 0:11this obloquy about the VDM. He has
7. 0:14received some love and also some very
8. 0:16vitriolic statements. So, in this video,
9. 0:19I want to tell you three groups of
10. 0:20people who hate VDM. Number one, we have
11. 0:24the corrupt people.
12. 0:26Corrupt people know that they have some
13. 0:28corrupt practices that they want to do
14. 0:31and VDM is an obstacle. You know, they
15. 0:33know VDM will scupper their plans. He's
16. 0:36blocking their path to success,
17. 0:38according to them. So, they hate VDM.
18. 0:40Also, among these corrupt people are
19. 0:42people who believe that everybody is and
20. 0:45should be corrupt. So, when they see
21. 0:48somebody like VDM fighting corruption,
22. 0:50it reminds them of who they are, that
23. 0:52they are corrupt, all right? And it also
24. 0:55reminds them that there are other people
25. 0:57who are not like them and they loathe
26. 1:00this epiphany. They hate this
27. 1:02realization. So, that's number one.
28. 1:04Number two, we have the envious and
29. 1:07jealous people. We have people who
30. 1:09believe that how can this man be so
31. 1:12smart, so intelligent? He doesn't have
32. 1:15proper formal education. I have a BSc,
33. 1:18BTech, a master's degree, but this guy
34. 1:20is able to think deeper than me. They're
35. 1:23jealous of that. Also, they are jealous
36. 1:26of the kind of veneration that he gets
37. 1:30because they feel how this boy just come
38. 1:32from nowhere. They know him from his
39. 1:34incipient days and now he's all of a
40. 1:37sudden more important than their
41. 1:39so-called icons. He's more important
42. 1:42than any activist that we have, that we
43. 1:45used to have in Nigeria. Before now, we
44. 1:47used to be Femi Falana, but now nobody
45. 1:49hears about Femi Falana anymore. VDM
46. 1:52has,
47. 1:52you know, overshadowed all of those. And
48. 1:55then, they also feel, you know,
49. 1:57why is he so loved? Why is he getting so
50. 1:59much love? So, they are so jealous of
51. 2:02this. Jealous and envious people, they
52. 2:04hate VDM. The third group of people who
53. 2:07hate VDM are the myopic and
54. 2:09self-righteous people. As we know, VDM
55. 2:12he can be rambunctious at times. He can
56. 2:14be iconoclastic at times. He doesn't
57. 2:17claim to be religious, [clears throat]
58. 2:19right? So, there are people who feel,
59. 2:21"How can this man be like this? If he
60. 2:24continues like this, people might turn
61. 2:26away from religion." That is their mind.
62. 2:29You know, people might begin to, you
63. 2:31know, because they can observe that VDM
64. 2:33gets much much much love than their
65. 2:37religious leaders.
66. 2:39There's hardly any religious leader in
67. 2:40Nigeria today who is
68. 2:42as loved as VDM is. It gets them angry
69. 2:46and they begin to think, "Ah, if VDM
70. 2:48continues like this, people will begin
71. 2:49to leave religion." So, they want to do
72. 2:52anything possible to bring him down.
73. 2:54According to them, for religion to
74. 2:56survive, VDM must go down. So, they
75. 2:59always want to put a kibosh on every
76. 3:01single thing he he does. These are kind
77. 3:03of people who spread lies about him.
78. 3:06They are too myopic to see that they can
79. 3:09actually, you know, what VDM is actually
80. 3:11doing is what VDM is doing is what
81. 3:13religion actually tells us to do.
82. 3:16All right. Help assisting sick uh the
83. 3:18assisting oppressed people and so on.
84. 3:20Religion actually teaches you to do
85. 3:22that. And they don't know that they can
86. 3:24actually spread their religion, you
87. 3:27know, some somehow by supporting VDM's
88. 3:30work. As a pastor, if you support VDM's
89. 3:33work, you are reminding your
90. 3:34congregation that, "Oh, what this guy is
91. 3:37doing is actually encouraging
92. 3:39Christianity." As an Imam, if you
93. 3:41support VDM, you can that could be a
94. 3:43sign to your congregation that what VDM
95. 3:46is doing is good and he's actually
96. 3:48supported in religion. They are too
97. 3:50myopic to see this. All right. So, that
98. 3:53is why they always want to spread all of
99. 3:55this hatred. And they don't know that
100. 3:58even according to their own scripture,
101. 4:00these self-righteous people, even
102. 4:02according to their own scripture, they
103. 4:04are useless people. Because these are
104. 4:06the people who spread all of these lies
105. 4:08against VDM. So, what exactly is your
106. 4:11problem? So, you can be talking about
107. 4:14wanting a better country, at the same
108. 4:16time you hate VDM. You are just going to
109. 4:19fall between two stools. You see these
110. 4:20three groups of people, make sure you
111. 4:22are never part of them. Thank you.
