- 0:00The idea of our self, the ego, is where
- 0:01all [music] problems and suffering arise
- 0:03because it's based in what I call
- 0:05negation language, meaning I'm not
- 0:06something. I'm not enough. I'm not
- 0:08loved. I'm not safe. I'm not wanted. I'm
- 0:10not valuable. And so then the ego will
- 0:11try to compensate. [music]
- 0:13Make sense, right? If I'm not loved,
- 0:14then I'm going to do everything I can to
- 0:15be loved. Not realizing that if I'm not
- 0:18something, [music] but I'm trying to
- 0:19become something, I'm actually
- 0:20constantly reinforcing the underlying
- 0:21belief that I'm not something. This is
- 0:24why [music] most people are sick and
- 0:25tired, exhausted, and that manifests
- 0:26eventually as disease. If you can at
- 0:28least start to [music] reframe what it
- 0:30is you're looking for, you're not
- 0:31looking to alter circumstance, but
- 0:33rather dissolve the limitations that are
- 0:35in the way of the essence [music] you
- 0:36are. One of my catchphrases is I say I
- 0:38don't solve problems, I dissolve them.
- 0:39You know, Rumi had a beautiful quote. He
- 0:41said, "Seek not for love. Seek merely
- 0:43for the barriers you've [music] built
- 0:45against it." You could say seek not for
- 0:47wealth, seek merely for the barriers you
- 0:49built against [music] it. Seek not for
- 0:51health, but seek merely for the barriers
- 0:53you built against it. So this is the
- 0:54dissolution [music] process.
- 0:55Michelangelo, it's a beautiful metaphor
- 0:57many of you would have heard. He was
- 0:58asked, "How did you create this
- 1:00incredible sculpture of David out of
- 1:02just this huge lump of marble?" And he
- 1:04said, "I didn't. I just chipped [music]
- 1:05away everything that wasn't David."
