- 0:00In this tutorial, I'll show you how to
- 0:02model a coffee mug using only a few easy
- 0:04shortcuts. It's completely beginner
- 0:06friendly. Let's get started. Once you
- 0:09open Blender, press A to select
- 0:11everything. Then press X and click
- 0:13delete to clear the scene. Now we'll
- 0:16start fresh. Press shift A, go to mesh,
- 0:18and choose cylinder. Now press G, then
- 0:21Z, then one to place it above the grid.
- 0:24Right click, go to set origin, and
- 0:26choose origin to 3D cursor. Now when you
- 0:29scale it will stay perfectly above the
- 0:31grid. Press tab to go into edit mode.
- 0:33Then press three for face select mode.
- 0:36Click on the top face. Then press I to
- 0:38insert it and delete that face. Then
- 0:41press two for edge select mode. Select
- 0:44this edge. Go to face and choose grid
- 0:46fill to keep the mesh in quads. Now
- 0:49press E to extrude it downward. Do the
- 0:52same for the bottom face as well. Now
- 0:54press Ctrl+R to create a loop cut and
- 0:57right click to confirm it in the center.
- 1:00After that press Ctrl +B to bevel the
- 1:02loop. Select these two loops and press
- 1:05Ctrl +B again to bevel them just like
- 1:08this. Switch to face selection and
- 1:10select these faces. Press E to extrude
- 1:13them out just a little bit. Go to the
- 1:15edge menu and choose bridge edge loops.
- 1:18In the options panel, increase the
- 1:20number of cuts until the handle looks
- 1:22nice and round. Press tab to go back to
- 1:24object mode. While your mug is selected,
- 1:27press Ctrl 3 to add a subdivision
- 1:29surface modifier. Go back to edit mode.
- 1:32Add a loop cut near the top edge of the
- 1:34cup to support and sharpen the corner.
- 1:38And that's it. You've modeled your first
- 1:40coffee mug in Blender. Subscribe for
