These SECRET Samsung Galaxy Features Are Not Known By 99% Of Users (Use Them Now!) — Transcript

- 0:00Separate app sound is a setting hiding
- 0:02in your Samsung right now, and it fixes
- 0:04a problem you've probably had a hundred
- 0:06times without ever knowing there was a
- 0:08fix. You connect your phone to a
- 0:10Bluetooth speaker, the playlist is
- 0:12going, everybody's vibing, and then you
- 0:14open TikTok. What happens? The music
- 0:17cuts out and the entire room gets to
- 0:19hear some guy reviewing gas station
- 0:21sushi. Separate app sound lets you pick
- 0:23one single app, let's say Spotify, and
- 0:26send only that app to the speaker, while
- 0:29everything else, your videos, your
- 0:31notifications, your navigation, stays
- 0:33right there on your phone. You'll find
- 0:35it under settings, sounds and vibration,
- 0:37separate app sound. Flip the toggle,
- 0:40choose the app, choose the speaker, and
- 0:42that's it. The party keeps its music,
- 0:44and you keep your terrible TikTok taste
- 0:46to yourself. And honestly, that's the
- 0:49warm-up, because a little later, there's
- 0:50a code you can type into your phone app
- 0:52that opens a menu Samsung built for
- 0:54repair technicians, not for you. Battery
- 0:57protection is the reason some Samsung
- 1:00phone still last all day after three
- 1:02years, while others are begging for a
- 1:04charger by lunchtime, and almost nobody
- 1:07switches it on. Here's what your charger
- 1:09will never tell you. Lithium-ion
- 1:11batteries hate sitting at 100%. Every
- 1:14night, your phone stays plugged in at
- 1:16full charge, the battery is under extra
- 1:18stress, and that stress slowly eats away
- 1:21at how much it can hold. So, Samsung
- 1:23quietly built in a fix. Go to settings,
- 1:26battery, battery protection, and you'll
- 1:28find three options. Basic stops charging
- 1:31at 100 and only starts again once you
- 1:34drop to 95, so the battery isn't being
- 1:36topped up all night long. Then there's a
- 1:39sleep time option that learns when you
- 1:41usually go to bed, holds the charge at
- 1:43around 80% overnight, and finishes the
- 1:45job just before you wake up. And if you
- 1:48want the full bodyguard treatment,
- 1:49maximum lets you cap charging at 80, 85,
- 1:5390, or 95%. Sure, you lose a little bit
- 1:56of battery every single day, but in
- 1:59return, you get a battery that ages like
- 2:01Keanu Reeves instead of like a banana.
- 2:03Wireless Power Share turns your Samsung
- 2:05into a wireless charger, and yes, that
- 2:08means your phone charging other devices
- 2:10straight from its back. If you've got a
- 2:12Galaxy flagship from roughly the S10
- 2:15onwards, or one of the foldables, just
- 2:17swipe down, tap the wireless power share
- 2:19tile in your quick settings, and lay
- 2:21your phone face down. Now, drop your
- 2:23Galaxy Buds or your Galaxy Watch on the
- 2:25back and watch it start charging. It
- 2:28even works with other phones that
- 2:29support Qi wireless charging. So, the
- 2:32next time your friend's iPhone hits 2%
- 2:34at a festival, guess who's the hero.
- 2:36It's not fast. Think emergency drip, not
- 2:39fire hose. And it switches itself off
- 2:42once your own battery falls to 30%, so
- 2:45you don't sacrifice your phone
- 2:46completely. But when your earbuds die
- 2:49halfway through a flight, that little
- 2:51drip feels like actual magic. And
- 2:54speaking of things hiding in plain
- 2:55sight, the next one can show you
- 2:57messages that people deleted before you
- 3:00ever read them.
- 3:01Notification history is the closest
- 3:03thing your Samsung has to a time
- 3:05machine, and it's the reason this
- 3:07message was deleted might not be the end
- 3:09of the story. You know that feeling when
- 3:12someone sends you something, panics, and
- 3:14hits delete for everyone before you open
- 3:16it? Your curiosity goes through the
- 3:18roof. Here's the trick. When
- 3:21notification history is turned on, your
- 3:23phone keeps a log of every notification
- 3:25it received over the last 24 hours. So,
- 3:28if that message popped up as a
- 3:30notification, the text was already saved
- 3:32in the log, and in a lot of cases, you
- 3:35can still read it there, even after the
- 3:37sender deleted it in the chat. Go to
- 3:39settings, notifications, then, depending
- 3:42on your software version, advanced
- 3:44settings, and turn on notification
- 3:46history. Now, a few honest rules. It
- 3:49only works if the feature was already on
- 3:51before the message arrived. It only
- 3:54shows what was in the notification, so
- 3:56no photos and sometimes only the first
- 3:59part of a long text. And if you muted
- 4:01that chat, there's nothing to catch. But
- 4:03once it's on, it also rescues every
- 4:06notification you accidentally swiped
- 4:08away. Your friends are going to hate
- 4:10this one. Star #0star#
- 4:13is the code I promised you at the start.
- 4:16And on most Samsung phones, it opens a
- 4:18secret test menu that Samsung never put
- 4:21a single button for. Open your phone
- 4:23app, type it into the dial pad like
- 4:25you're calling someone, and the screen
- 4:27suddenly flips into a grid of plain gray
- 4:29buttons that look like they came
- 4:31straight from 2009. Why does it look so
- 4:34ugly? Because it was never meant for
- 4:36you. This menu was built for repair
- 4:38technicians, and it lets you test pretty
- 4:40much every piece of hardware inside your
- 4:42phone. Tap red, green, or blue, and your
- 4:45entire screen turns into one solid
- 4:48color, which is the fastest way to spot
- 4:50dead pixels. Tap touch, and you have to
- 4:52draw across a grid. So, if part of your
- 4:55screen ignores your finger, you'll see
- 4:57it immediately. There are tests for the
- 4:59speaker, the vibration motor, the
- 5:01cameras, and the sensors as well. So,
- 5:04why should you care? Because if you ever
- 5:06buy a used Samsung, this is how you find
- 5:08out in 60 seconds whether the seller is
- 5:11being honest with you. And if nothing
- 5:13happens when you type it, don't panic.
- 5:15Some carrier versions simply block the
- 5:17code, so it's not you, it's them. Back
- 5:20tap is basically a secret button on the
- 5:22back of your Samsung. And the crazy part
- 5:24is that it isn't even a real button. It
- 5:27comes from Good Lock, Samsung's own
- 5:29customization toolbox that for some
- 5:31reason they just never pre-install.
- 5:33Download Good Lock from the Galaxy
- 5:35Store, open it, install the module
- 5:37called RegiStar, and switch on back tap.
- 5:40From now on, when you tap the back of
- 5:42your phone twice, it can take a
- 5:44screenshot, turn on your flashlight,
- 5:46open any app you like, or even fire up a
- 5:49whole routine. No more awkward power
- 5:52plus volume finger yoga just to
- 5:54screenshot a meme. And while you're
- 5:55inside Good Lock, grab Sound Assistant
- 5:58as well because it lets you give every
- 6:00app its own volume. So Instagram stops
- 6:03screaming at full blast while your music
- 6:05stays nice and quiet. iPhone users have
- 6:08had back tap since 2020, and Samsung is
- 6:10reportedly working on a built-in
- 6:12version, but you can have it today for
- 6:15free. Now, everything so far was about
- 6:17making your phone better. The last two
- 6:19are about protecting it from other
- 6:21people. Maintenance mode is the one
- 6:23feature you should switch on every
- 6:25single time your phone goes in for
- 6:26repair, and it might be the most
- 6:28underrated thing Samsung has ever built.
- 6:31Think about it for a second. You hand a
- 6:33complete stranger your phone. They ask
- 6:35for your PIN so they can test it, and
- 6:37suddenly they have access to your
- 6:39photos, your messages, your banking
- 6:41apps, basically your entire life. Sounds
- 6:44a bit terrifying? It should. Go to
- 6:46settings, battery and device care,
- 6:48maintenance mode, and your phone
- 6:50restarts into a separate user account
- 6:52that has zero access to your personal
- 6:55data. The technician can still test the
- 6:57screen, the cameras, the speakers, and
- 6:59the pre-installed apps, but your gallery
- 7:01is basically locked away in a vault.
- 7:04When you get the phone back, you exit
- 7:06maintenance mode with your fingerprint
- 7:07or PIN. The phone restarts, and
- 7:10everything that was created during the
- 7:11repair is wiped automatically. So the
- 7:14repair guy gets to see a phone, not your
- 7:16life, and you no longer have to pray
- 7:18that he doesn't scroll through your
- 7:19camera roll. And that brings us to the
- 7:22feature you'll want if your phone ever
- 7:24ends up in hands that are a lot less
- 7:25friendly than a repair shop. Theft
- 7:28protection is the feature that turns a
- 7:29stolen Samsung into something almost
- 7:32useless for the thief, and you should
- 7:34check right now whether yours is
- 7:35actually on. Go to settings, security
- 7:38and privacy, lost device protection,
- 7:41theft protection. The first thing in
- 7:43there is theft detection lock, which
- 7:45uses on-device AI to recognize the
- 7:47movement of someone snatching your phone
- 7:49and running, biking, or driving off with
- 7:52it. And the moment it notices, it locks
- 7:54the screen. Then, there's identity
- 7:56check. Thieves love watching you type
- 7:59your PIN over your shoulder before they
- 8:01grab your phone. And for years, that
- 8:03meant game over. With identity check,
- 8:06whenever you're outside a place you've
- 8:07marked as safe, like your home, changing
- 8:10really important things, like your PIN,
- 8:12your fingerprints, or switching off
- 8:14theft protection itself, needs your
- 8:16actual face or fingerprint. So, a stolen
- 8:19PIN alone just isn't enough anymore.
- 8:22Offline device lock locks the screen if
- 8:24the thief tries to cut your phone off
- 8:25from the internet. And with remote lock,
- 8:28you can lock it from any browser using
- 8:30nothing but your phone number. Set it
- 8:32all up once tonight, and the only thing
- 8:34a thief walks away with is a very
- 8:36expensive paperweight. Want to see more
