5. 0:30and for us our approach is really to
6. 0:32focus on work life integration cuz at
7. 0:35the end of the day it's just life the
8. 0:37Zabo culture is uh unlike anything else
9. 0:39I've ever seen uh we joke that it's
10. 0:41happier than
11. 0:43Disney it's like a family it's like this
12. 0:46big family and we're happy to see each
13. 0:48other we come to work we enjoy it and we
14. 0:51have fun
15. 0:52here company culture is our main
16. 0:55business strategy it's the number one
17. 0:57priority of the company I think that
18. 0:58we've always felt that competitors could
19. 1:01copy our selection they can copy our
20. 1:03shipping but one thing that could never
21. 1:05be copied was our company culture from
22. 1:08the very beginning uh Fred and I
23. 1:10interviewed every single person but our
24. 1:12criteria was really would we want to go
25. 1:15grab a drink with this person uh even if
26. 1:17we weren't in business together and if
27. 1:19the answer was no then we just wouldn't
28. 1:20hire that person that's kind of the idea
29. 1:23behind the way that we hire here is it's
30. 1:25more important that we're getting the
31. 1:26right people the people that are going
32. 1:27to fit into our culture that are going
33. 1:29to appreciate our culture help grow our
34. 1:31culture performance reviews include
35. 1:33whether you're living or inspiring the
36. 1:34core values in others but what we found
37. 1:36is it's much much easier just to spend
38. 1:38the extra effort on the front end and
39. 1:41sometimes that means it'll take twice as
40. 1:42long to fill a position but if you get
41. 1:44the culture right then most of the other
42. 1:46stuff like delivering great customer
43. 1:48service or building a long-term enduring
44. 1:50brand or business will just be a natural
45. 1:51byproduct of that how are you
46. 1:53contributing to the culture are you um
47. 1:55going outside your department and making
48. 1:56friends outside your department these
49. 1:58are things that you actually get scored
50. 1:59on in order to get promoted when you
51. 2:01when you grow like we've grown
52. 2:02throughout the years and you have so
53. 2:04many new employees they're responsible
54. 2:06for creating this culture maintaining it
55. 2:09and making it better we're allowed to
56. 2:11feel free to say Hey you know it' be fun
57. 2:13if we all went for a hike cool plan it
58. 2:14do it that's something that they really
59. 2:16stress too is it's all up to everyone to
60. 2:18scale this culture and to grow with the
61. 2:19company as the company gets bigger you
62. 2:22know telling these guys figured out a
63. 2:23long time ago that you actually can get
64. 2:26your work done be focused but you can
65. 2:29also you know be happy and have fun
66. 2:32while you're doing that I don't know
67. 2:33we're just happy to be here because we
68. 2:34enjoy what we do we enjoy each other too
69. 2:37zapus has a unique culture and uh what's
70. 2:40important is not that you have a zapo
71. 2:43culture but that you have a set of core
72. 2:45values and you define what your culture
