The World's Best LinkedIn DM Outreach Sequence (INSANE) — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00This is a LinkedIn DM system that has
- 0:02gone absolutely nuts. It reaches out to
- 0:04hundreds of your ICP prospects
- 0:07automatically on autopilot. But that's
- 0:09not even the mad part because let's be
- 0:11honest, automation at scale at this
- 0:13point is pretty easy. I'm sure you tried
- 0:15it before, we certainly have. The mad
- 0:17part is not in the automation, it's
- 0:19[music] in the steps of this automated
- 0:20sequence that I guarantee you no one in
- 0:23the game is doing because [music] in
- 0:24this video I'm going to show you an
- 0:26automated sequence that spoiler includes
- 0:29voice notes, includes videos, includes
- 0:32[music] things so disruptive and
- 0:34personal that actually prospects will be
- 0:36thanking you for sending them this
- 0:37[music] sequence. Thank you for a cold
- 0:39outreach message. When does that ever
- 0:41happen? And by the way, them thanking
- 0:43you for that message is actually the
- 0:44worst case scenario in this sequence.
- 0:47The best case, well that's that they
- 0:48become a client of yours paying you
- 0:50money on a monthly basis. There is
- 0:52genuinely no real bad outcome. In this
- 0:54video I'm going to give you all four
- 0:56steps. Step one, connecting with ICP
- 0:58prospects. Step two, is sending them a
- 1:00voice note. Step three, a personalized
- 1:02video. And step four, moving that
- 1:05process [music] into a sales process.
- 1:07Stick with me to the end of this video
- 1:08cuz I guarantee you that by the end you
- 1:10will have the exact blueprint you can
- 1:12implement today to start filling up your
- 1:14inbox tomorrow. Let's get into it. I
- 1:16quickly want to explain why this system
- 1:18works so well before I get into exactly
- 1:20how you build it. Because almost all
- 1:22cold outreach fails for the same reason.
- 1:25It fails because people ask too much,
- 1:27too soon, in the wrong place to the
- 1:29wrong people. If someone connects with
- 1:31you and immediately you hit them with a
- 1:32pitch or even worse, a link to a booking
- 1:35page or a demo, they don't care about
- 1:37you. They're not going to be interested.
- 1:39In fact, they're just going to have bad
- 1:40blood to you and your company for
- 1:42hitting them with that cold message.
- 1:44Whereas this system is completely
- 1:46different. It's designed and crafted
- 1:49around how human interactions genuinely
- 1:51work outside of the workplace and then
- 1:54that's applied to a workplace setting to
- 1:55help you win clients. It's low-friction
- 1:57at the start, it's very casual and
- 1:59personal, and instead of asking for a
- 2:02sale straight up, it's getting lots of
- 2:04small yeses. So, now I'm going to walk
- 2:06you through each of the four steps to
- 2:08this incredible outreach sequence,
- 2:09showing you why it's installed into the
- 2:11sequence, how you can install it, and
- 2:14showing you an example that I've used to
- 2:16get clients. So, step one is the
- 2:18connection request note on LinkedIn.
- 2:20Now, I'm going to give you a strange tip
- 2:21here that I'm sure you've never been
- 2:23told, and that's actually to leave your
- 2:24connection request note blank. I know
- 2:26that probably goes against everything
- 2:28you think you know. Actually, in this
- 2:29case, curiosity wins. And there's two
- 2:32reasons I want you to leave it blank.
- 2:34The first is your connection request
- 2:36acceptance rates will actually go up.
- 2:38People don't disqualify you as someone
- 2:40trying to sell them something too early
- 2:41on before you've had a chance to
- 2:42actually explain your idea. Just a
- 2:44connection request without a note sparks
- 2:46the curiosity to think maybe it's a job
- 2:48offer, maybe it's someone I should know
- 2:50or I've met in the industry before.
- 2:52There's a hundred reasons why they might
- 2:53then go and accept the connection
- 2:54request note. And the second one is it
- 2:56gives you a fresh inbox when you then go
- 2:58and send that personalized message. If
- 3:00you send a connection request note,
- 3:02that's actually going to appear in the
- 3:03inbox before your message, which gives
- 3:05the impression that you're almost
- 3:06berating them with message on message
- 3:08before they've had a chance to reply. We
- 3:10want that first powerful message that
- 3:11we're going to send it through in step
- 3:12two to be the first thing that lands in
- 3:14their inbox. So, that is step one, set
- 3:16your automated outreach machine to
- 3:18connect with ICP prospects with no note.
- 3:20Very simply it's to install, but I
- 3:22guarantee you it's better than the more
- 3:23complicated alternative. Now, before I
- 3:25get into step two, which is the
- 3:26game-changer, it's where we go into
- 3:28voice notes and how to use them in your
- 3:29LinkedIn DM strategy, I just want to
- 3:31quickly call out that if you're enjoying
- 3:33this video, please do like and
- 3:34subscribe. This is just one long form
- 3:36I'm doing on a massive series on
- 3:38LinkedIn across the board, so how to
- 3:40create good LinkedIn content, how to win
- 3:42clients on LinkedIn, how to grow on
- 3:43LinkedIn, how to become a key person of
- 3:45influence on LinkedIn. It's all there,
- 3:47so please do subscribe to not miss out.
- 3:49Let's get back to the video. So, step
- 3:51two, as I mentioned, is a voice note.
- 3:53Now, let me ask you something. I don't
- 3:55want you to think about your personal
- 3:56experience on LinkedIn here. When was
- 3:58the last time you received a voice note?
- 4:01Was it today? Was it this week? Was it
- 4:03this month? Or was it, which is actually
- 4:05going to be my guess, never?
- 4:07Personally, I do a lot on LinkedIn and I
- 4:10have very rarely, if ever, actually
- 4:12receive a voice note. So, what does that
- 4:14mean for you? That means if you go and
- 4:16send voice notes to prospects, you are
- 4:18disrupting the pattern of their
- 4:21They receive 10 messages of people
- 4:22trying to sell them something boring
- 4:24every day, whereas a voice note pops up
- 4:26in their inbox, that's going to spark
- 4:28curiosity. And I challenge anyone to be
- 4:31received a voice note and not click
- 4:32play. It's human psychology to click
- 4:35play there. But, it's not just the fact
- 4:37that it gets them to actually hear you
- 4:38out why voice notes are so good here.
- 4:41Voice notes are casual, they're
- 4:42personal, they actually give them a
- 4:44chance to hear your voice and hear a bit
- 4:45more about you so they can understand
- 4:48your personality and they feel a bit of
- 4:49connection to to you as a person. You're
- 4:52already building rapport with them in a
- 4:5315-second voice note, the way that a
- 4:55message never could. I really could talk
- 4:57for an hour on how voice notes are so
- 4:59good and well received, but like I
- 5:01mentioned in the intro, people want to
- 5:03do business how they live the rest of
- 5:05their life and how they communicate
- 5:06normally as a human in family and friend
- 5:08dynamics. Voice notes are a part of that
- 5:11and it should be no different on
- 5:12LinkedIn. So, what do you say in your
- 5:14voice note? Well, the answer is very
- 5:16easy. You follow the pattern of a normal
- 5:18voice note. So, keep it casual, keep it
- 5:20light, keep it easy. Don't expect them
- 5:22to listen to a 5-minute voice note
- 5:24because my mom could send me a 5-minute
- 5:26voice note and I wouldn't listen to
- 5:27that, so a cold prospect definitely
- 5:28wouldn't. It could even work for you to
- 5:30make a little joke in the voice note
- 5:31about why you're sending it. That
- 5:33casualness is deliberate, it's not a
- 5:35mistake. It makes you a real person
- 5:37rather than a sales person reading a
- 5:39script. So, it could go something like
- 5:41this. Hi, sorry for the voice note that
- 5:42I know is a bit out of the blue. I'm
- 5:44just on the move right now and really
- 5:45wanted to get this message over. I've
- 5:47had a look at your LinkedIn profile and
- 5:49it's very interesting. You've actually
- 5:50spent the last 10 years in marketing. I
- 5:52actually saw you also hiring for a
- 5:54marketer at the moment. I've actually
- 5:55got an idea that I think will be a much
- 5:57better angle for you guys than hiring a
- 5:59marketer. Is it okay if I send a quick
- 6:01video explaining what I mean? So,
- 6:03there's a few parts to that voice note.
- 6:04There's the casual intro, there's the
- 6:06introduction to myself, and then there's
- 6:08the next step. It is going to be sending
- 6:10them a video. And why are you asking
- 6:12permission to send them a video? Well,
- 6:13the answer is actually quite a selfish
- 6:15one. It's going to take you at least 10
- 6:17minutes to put together a personalized
- 6:18video for them, and yes, it should be
- 6:20personalized.
- 6:21You don't want to be doing that to every
- 6:23single prospect if they've shown no
- 6:24interest. So, in the voice note, ask
- 6:26permission. That means you'll probably
- 6:27be making four to five a day as opposed
- 6:30to 20 a day when you're making them for
- 6:31prospects that wouldn't even reply. It
- 6:33means you're focusing on hot leads,
- 6:34people that are interested in hearing
- 6:36you out as opposed to cold leads, people
- 6:37that might just tell you to eff off
- 6:39after you spent the last 20 minutes
- 6:40making a video for them. The other
- 6:41reason is them opting in is actually a
- 6:45good sales indicator in their own head.
- 6:47It's a micro commitment.
- 6:49It's a yes that they've said to you.
- 6:52That means that further down the line,
- 6:53they're going to be more receptive to
- 6:54actually watching the video and hearing
- 6:56your argument out. Now, quick pause
- 6:57here. While we are on the topic of how
- 6:59to get in front of your ICP prospects,
- 7:02because if you're wanting them to come
- 7:03to you inbound rather than you going out
- 7:06to them outbound, the answer is actually
- 7:08in content. What do I mean by content? I
- 7:10mean content across the board, along
- 7:12from video like this, short form videos,
- 7:14LinkedIn posts, and posts across all
- 7:16other social channels. Content is the
- 7:18key in 2026. Now, I'm actually running a
- 7:20special offer for anyone watching this
- 7:22video right now, which is a free week of
- 7:25content. All you have to do is fill out
- 7:26a quick form on yourself, your business,
- 7:28and the people that you're trying to
- 7:29target and win as clients, and our team
- 7:32of expert video editors, designers, and
- 7:35strategists will put together a free
- 7:37week of content for you consisting of
- 7:39two long form videos, 10 short form
- 7:41videos, and posts to go out on LinkedIn.
- 7:43This is absolutely the thing you should
- 7:45be doing to complement this LinkedIn DM
- 7:47strategy that you're rolling out. You
- 7:49need to have outbound and inbound
- 7:51machines running at the same time.
- 7:52Follow this video for the outbound part,
- 7:54and sign up to our free week of content
- 7:56to get the inbound machine moving. If
- 7:58you're interested, we have 10 slots.
- 7:59It's linked in the description. Let's go
- 8:01back to the video. So, you've connected
- 8:03with your ICP prospects. You've sent
- 8:05them a voice note. They've listened to
- 8:06it. They already like you a little bit.
- 8:08They've given you that thumbs up next
- 8:10step. So, now you are putting that video
- 8:12together for them. You've deemed them as
- 8:13a hot lead worthy of, you know, 10-15
- 8:15minutes of your time to put that video
- 8:17together. So, what do we put in that
- 8:18video? What makes a good video? And how
- 8:20do you send it on LinkedIn? Now, the
- 8:22video itself is very simple. You don't
- 8:24need to go to a production level like
- 8:25this. Simply download a Loom or a
- 8:27similar tool and do a screen recording
- 8:29with yourself in the bottom right-hand
- 8:30corner. Now, here's the clever part.
- 8:33You're always going to start on one of
- 8:34these two things in your video. You're
- 8:36going to either start on their LinkedIn
- 8:38profile or their website. The reason for
- 8:40this is threefold. One, like the voice
- 8:43note, it forces them to click. They're
- 8:45going to see a video thumbnail pop up in
- 8:47their LinkedIn DM box, and if it's their
- 8:50face or their LinkedIn profile looking
- 8:51right back at them, you have to see what
- 8:53they're saying because you know they're
- 8:55talking about you. It's the same for the
- 8:57website. Now, the second reason is it
- 8:58proves it's personal. It proves you
- 9:00haven't just lumped out the same video
- 9:02to a thousand other people on LinkedIn
- 9:04because there's a personalized start to
- 9:06it, be it their website or their
- 9:07LinkedIn. And this is the crazy part. It
- 9:09sets up the pitch. So, you're going to
- 9:10start that video on their LinkedIn
- 9:12profile talking about what makes them a
- 9:14good fit. Why have you made this video?
- 9:16That's the question I like to ask
- 9:17myself. Why have I made this video for
- 9:18this person? So, you might start it
- 9:20like, "Hi, I was looking through your
- 9:22LinkedIn profile and I saw XYZ, so I
- 9:25thought you might be a very good fit
- 9:27for" Now, that line, "I think you might
- 9:28be a very good fit for dun dun dun",
- 9:30that is actually a segue into a sales
- 9:32pitch. And before they know it as a
- 9:34prospect, they're hearing you out on a
- 9:36sales pitch, even perhaps going through
- 9:38your sales deck without realizing. When
- 9:41in any other marketing channel, can you
- 9:43get an ICP prospect hearing your sales
- 9:46process out and willingly doing it
- 9:48without being forced to?
- 9:50From cold. So, at that point, there are
- 9:52really two outcomes. Best case, they'll
- 9:55hear your video out, they'll be
- 9:57appreciative you took the time to make
- 9:58it, they'll see what you're selling,
- 10:00what you're offering as a service or
- 10:01product, and they'll then go and book in
- 10:03a call with you.
- 10:04That's the best case scenario. I
- 10:06guarantee you will see a few of them
- 10:07throughout the week. Now, the worst case
- 10:10scenario is so brilliant because it's
- 10:11not really a worst case. The worst case
- 10:14scenario is they're going to thank you
- 10:16for taking the time to put that video
- 10:17together, sending the voice note
- 10:19earlier, and they're going to say it's
- 10:20not a good fit right now, but thanks for
- 10:22taking the time to make the video. Now,
- 10:24that is good one because it's goodwill,
- 10:26there's no bad blood like a normal cold
- 10:28email where they're disliking your brand
- 10:29for reaching out to them, but also it
- 10:31means that if their needs change further
- 10:33down the line, let's say in 6 months
- 10:35they do need a marketing agency, guess
- 10:37who they're going to come to? You. You
- 10:38have now turned cold outreach into a
- 10:41machine that generates warm, qualified
- 10:44leads watching your sales pitch for 2
- 10:46minutes and then mucking around if they
- 10:48book in a call with you. Unheard of for
- 10:50cold outreach. So, that is the system in
- 10:53just four steps. The first is to send a
- 10:55connection request at scale, make sure
- 10:57you don't include a note. Two, your
- 11:00first direct point of contact to that
- 11:01prospect is going to be a voice note to
- 11:03disrupt their inbox, engage them, and
- 11:06show them that you are a real, normal
- 11:07person. Three, you're going to use that
- 11:09voice note to ask permission to send
- 11:11through your main idea for them, which
- 11:13is in the video. Four, you're then going
- 11:14to send through that Trojan horse, the
- 11:16piece de resistance, which is your
- 11:18personalized video made exactly for
- 11:21them. Using this system, best case,
- 11:23you're going to get a client. Worst
- 11:24case, you're going to get a hot lead
- 11:26that might do business with you in the
- 11:27future. Like I say, that is the outbound
- 11:29machine. Go and get it working today. If
- 11:31you are trying to work on building out a
- 11:3310 out of 10 inbound machine, the first
- 11:35step you need to take is signing up to
- 11:36our free week of content, link in
- 11:38description, and that will get the ball
- 11:40rolling for you on content. If this
- 11:41video was useful, please do like and
- 11:43subscribe. See you on the next one. I've
- 11:44got a lot of good titles cooking, so
- 11:46stay tuned.
