Full transcript
- 0:00by 2050 our planet will be a vastly
- 0:03different place
- 0:07by 2050 artificial intelligence will be
- 0:11everywhere AI driven stores will allow
- 0:14you to purchase goods without cashiers
- 0:16or waiting lines AI will diagnose and
- 0:19treat patients manage transportation and
- 0:21analyze massive quantities of data
- 0:24ai chat BOTS and voice recognition
- 0:26systems will sound like and behave just
- 0:29like real people
- 0:30AI will be implemented into robots by
- 0:332050 robot dogs and other pets will
- 0:36serve as companions robots will dominate
- 0:39factories and began to serve as teachers
- 0:41cooks pharmacists law enforcement
- 0:44officers athletes and other
- 0:46professionals in 2050 Universal
- 0:49translators will remove all language
- 0:51barriers and voice recognition will be
- 0:53ubiquitous hundreds of sensors will be
- 0:56installed in our clothes homes an
- 0:58overall environment to monitor our
- 1:00well-being and improve our lives
- 1:02computing will change by 2050 we may run
- 1:06on quantum computers based on the
- 1:08properties of quantum physics quantum
- 1:10computers could deliver massive leaps in
- 1:12computing power
- 1:13outstripping any current transistor
- 1:15based models AI and computers will
- 1:18integrate into humans brain ships like
- 1:21Elon Musk's neural link will treat
- 1:23neurological disorders like Alzheimer's
- 1:24Parkinson's spinal cord injury and
- 1:27blindness these brain chips will allow
- 1:29people to control computers and
- 1:31prosthetics with no physical interaction
- 1:33by 2050 we may be controlling things
- 1:36with our minds and communicating through
- 1:39brain signals by 2050 robotic
- 1:41prosthetics may be stronger and more
- 1:44advanced than our own biological ones
- 1:46prosthetic eyes and ears will enter the
- 1:48market during blindness and deafness and
- 1:50in 30 years like AI virtual reality will
- 1:55be everywhere
- 1:56people will try and clothes in virtual
- 1:58reality closets and a holograms will
- 2:00bring FaceTime to a new level
- 2:02the our platforms will allow you to move
- 2:05around while staying still we will be
- 2:07able to travel the world and experience
- 2:10life on other planets
- 2:11all from home
- 2:16in 2014 320,000 new electric vehicles
- 2:21were registered around the world in 2019
- 2:24that number was 2.3 million by 2025
- 2:27global evie sales are projected to
- 2:29surpass 10 million and by 2050 the
- 2:33majority of automobiles will be electric
- 2:35gas stations will disappear and be
- 2:37replaced with at home charging stations
- 2:39refueling vehicles and as low as 10
- 2:42minutes automobiles will become
- 2:44driverless as of now Tesla vehicles
- 2:47already have autopilot features that
- 2:49achieve a level two automation on the
- 2:51Society of Automotive Engineers vehicle
- 2:53automation ranking other companies such
- 2:56as Google have invested billions of
- 2:58dollars into self-driving technology
- 3:00currently it's expected that fully
- 3:02autonomous level 5 vehicles will roll
- 3:05out to consumers in the late to mid
- 3:062020s and become commonplace in the
- 3:092030s by 2050 people will be hopping
- 3:12into cars with no steering wheel
- 3:14thousands of autonomous vans and semi
- 3:17trucks will travel across country
- 3:18delivering packages and shipments with
- 3:21no human interaction drones will do the
- 3:24same for shorter distances by 2050
- 3:27swarms of drones will be delivering
- 3:29small packages from floating or vertical
- 3:31warehouses there will also be
- 3:33surveillance in security drones along
- 3:35with the drones for construction
- 3:36entertainment and agriculture evie tolls
- 3:40or electric vertical takeoff and landing
- 3:42aircraft will provide urban
- 3:43transportation currently there are
- 3:46several working evie toll aircraft
- 3:48prototypes the urban market for them is
- 3:50massive and studies have revealed that
- 3:52the technology could become a highly
- 3:54profitable one of the companies working
- 3:56on evie tools is uber who wants to make
- 3:59aerial ride-sharing a reality there's
- 4:01also Airbus who have their drone like
- 4:03Airbus pop-up concept the Humber Airbus
- 4:07and other companies succeed we could see
- 4:09widespread adoption of the technology by
- 4:122050 cities will likely have air taxis
- 4:15everywhere but that may not work
- 4:18Elon Musk says that roads must go 3d
- 4:20which means either flying cars or
- 4:22tunnels he believes the ants
- 4:25tunnels right now Elon Musk's boring
- 4:28company is digging small experimental
- 4:30tunnels under cities if musk can
- 4:33significantly cut down boring costs by
- 4:352050 cities will have thousands of
- 4:38tunnels underneath them another one of
- 4:40musk sprained child's Hyperloop will
- 4:43revolutionize long distance land
- 4:45transportation Hyperloop the idea for
- 4:48vacuum maglev high-speed trains could
- 4:50speed up to 700 miles per hour a trip
- 4:53from Los Angeles to San Francisco would
- 4:56be only 43 minutes long compared to a
- 4:58six-hour car ride by 2050 Hyperloop
- 5:01systems will certainly be constructed
- 5:03and replacing airplanes may evolve into
- 5:06the most popular type of long-distance
- 5:08domestic travel but for travel between
- 5:11continents airplanes will remain
- 5:14dominant with improved batteries we
- 5:16could see electric airliners take to the
- 5:18skies in addition several companies are
- 5:21working to bring back supersonic
- 5:23aircraft these aircraft are certainly
- 5:25not airliners but small-scale jets meant
- 5:28to carry only 10 to 100 people by 2050
- 5:31we could have Concorde like but safer
- 5:34supersonic aircraft soaring through the
- 5:36skies or as an alternative to airplanes
- 5:39what if we traveled around in Rockets
- 5:42well Elon Musk wants to use his starship
- 5:45to transport people all around the world
- 5:47soon and musk starship 1 could travel
- 5:51from New York to London in only 29
- 5:53minutes
- 5:58our energy system is transforming over
- 6:01the past decade the cost of solar power
- 6:03has plummeted due to economies of scale
- 6:06and improved technology the price of
- 6:09solar equipment has dropped by 89
- 6:11percent since 2010 the cost for wind
- 6:14power has plunged as well due to these
- 6:17decreases new solar and wind investments
- 6:19are usually cheaper than natural gas and
- 6:22coal investments
- 6:23however renewables still have one major
- 6:25setback energy storage for utility scale
- 6:29systems renewables need a way to store
- 6:31excess energy from windy and sunny days
- 6:33for cloudy and calm days to help with
- 6:36this researchers are developing new
- 6:38methods to store large amounts of energy
- 6:41some examples include storing energy as
- 6:43heat in materials compressing air or
- 6:46turning error into a liquid although it
- 6:48remains to be seen which method is best
- 6:50these solutions will certainly be
- 6:52implemented for large-scale utility in
- 6:54the future by 2050 renewables are
- 6:58expected to provide in nearly half of
- 7:00all world electricity but that's not all
- 7:03a solar and wind began to dominate the
- 7:05energy sector fusion power will rise
- 7:08currently fusion power is purely
- 7:11speculative
- 7:12however 35 nations are collaborating on
- 7:15it err a 20 billion dollar project in
- 7:17France to test the feasibility of fusion
- 7:20for power generation it err will work by
- 7:23creating a fusion powered plasma inside
- 7:25an experimental machine the walls of the
- 7:28machine will absorb the energy using it
- 7:30to produce steam that will generate
- 7:31electricity with turbines bidders first
- 7:34plasma is planned for December 2025 by
- 7:372050 we could have fully functional
- 7:40fusion power plants operating more
- 7:42efficiently than any other power source
- 7:44in history
- 7:50with the NASA's Artemis program it's
- 7:52planning to land humans back on the moon
- 7:54by 2024 SpaceX Dianetics and Blue Origin
- 7:58are all working on Landers for the
- 8:01project after to the moon NASA wants to
- 8:04send humans to Mars sometime in the
- 8:062030s spacex is even more ambitious they
- 8:10are developing the starship a rocket
- 8:12that they hope will send humans to Mars
- 8:14by 2024 once they get there
- 8:17SpaceX planes to establish a permanent
- 8:19colony by 2050 Elon Musk plans to have a
- 8:23Martian City with as many as 1 million
- 8:25people SpaceX is also developing
- 8:28Starling thousands of satellites that
- 8:31will provide the world's most advanced
- 8:32broadband internet system other space
- 8:35companies such as Blue Origin Boeing
- 8:37Lockheed Martin and Virgin Galactic are
- 8:40all racing for space as well in 30 years
- 8:42we might have a permanent colony on the
- 8:45moon space hotels in orbit in humans on
- 8:48Mars
- 8:53by 2050 our food consumption will be
- 8:56wildly different mostly due to meat
- 8:59livestock contributes to 15% of human
- 9:02greenhouse gas emissions and uses 26% of
- 9:05the Earth's terrestrial surface to feed
- 9:08our growing population while lowering
- 9:10emissions we must move away from meat
- 9:13assisting with this our meat
- 9:14alternatives companies like beyond meat
- 9:17and impossible foods have obtained
- 9:19billion dollar valuations supplying the
- 9:22rapidly growing meat alternatives market
- 9:24in addition plant-based diets as a whole
- 9:26are growing in popularity then there is
- 9:30cultured meat cultured meat is meat
- 9:32produced by in vitro cell culture it
- 9:35avoids the slaughtering of animals and
- 9:36produces very minimal emissions by 2050
- 9:39we will likely have in vitro t-bone
- 9:42steaks produced for the masses to meet
- 9:45the demand for increased plants in the
- 9:48growing population while escaping the
- 9:50uncertainty of the changing climate
- 9:52Farms will move indoors vertical and
- 9:55into cities the vertical farming market
- 9:58is exploding by 2050 there will be
- 10:00large-scale vertical farms all around
- 10:03the world
- 10:03feeding the growing population while
- 10:06using very little land and water as our
- 10:08food consumption transforms
- 10:10biotechnology will advance while
- 10:13prosthetics replace large organs stem
- 10:15cells will regenerate injuries and
- 10:17diseases stem cells which can be guided
- 10:20into becoming a wide variety of specific
- 10:22cells will be used for therapies
- 10:25eventually like brain chips stem cell
- 10:28therapies could help those with
- 10:29Parkinson's and Alzheimer's but also
- 10:31those with type 1 diabetes heart disease
- 10:33burns cancer arthritis and all sorts of
- 10:37other diseases
- 10:38another biotechnology is gene editing
- 10:41using CRISPR / canine technology
- 10:44scientists can now remove strands of DNA
- 10:46that are causing illnesses and replace
- 10:49them with different ones in the future
- 10:51scientists hope to cure lifelong
- 10:53inherited diseases with this technology
- 10:59while we decarbonize the world's economy
- 11:02we will utilize carbon removal
- 11:05technology carbon capture and storage
- 11:07will catch carbon emissions from a
- 11:09source and then transport them
- 11:10underground
- 11:11leaving the atmosphere unaffected
- 11:13advanced technologies will remove carbon
- 11:16directly from the air and seawater
- 11:18additionally some minerals naturally
- 11:20react with carbon dioxide and we can use
- 11:23them to convert carbon from gas into a
- 11:25solid it's not sure which of these
- 11:27strategies is best but in the future we
- 11:30will certainly see that our widespread
- 11:32implementation if you enjoyed this video
- 11:34it would be amazing if you like and
- 11:37subscribe also remember to check out the
- 11:39comments and join the conversation
- 11:41thanks for watching and see you next
