  1. 0:00over 4 000 years old and known
  2. 0:02throughout the whole world
  3. 0:03the nostril piercing is here to stay
  4. 0:09people have gotten their nostril
  5. 0:10piercings throughout history for many
  6. 0:12different reasons
  7. 0:14whether it's to show that they're
  8. 0:14eligible for marriage for fertility
  9. 0:17reasons to help with childbirth
  10. 0:19or just to show off wealth power or rank
  11. 0:21in a certain group
  12. 0:23many people also just get it nowadays
  13. 0:25for decorations because it looks
  14. 0:28fantastic
  15. 0:30[Music]
  16. 0:33traditionally people get the left side
  17. 0:35of their nostril pierced and this comes
  18. 0:36from india because they believe that
  19. 0:38helped with fertility
  20. 0:39childbirth labor pains and all that fun
  21. 0:42stuff
  22. 0:42anything to help now today we are more
  23. 0:45focused on our selfie side
  24. 0:47because we are a vain vein world and
  25. 0:50whatever side we take that picture of we
  26. 0:52want to show off that jewelry so
  27. 0:53that's what most people get there's no
  28. 0:55right or wrong it's whatever you like
  29. 0:57the only thing i want to say about
  30. 0:59placement is is if you're planning on
  31. 1:01wearing the ring
  32. 1:02you don't want to go too high up on the
  33. 1:03nostril or too low
  34. 1:05you want to get it measured out so that
  35. 1:07ring will be nice and snug if you plan
  36. 1:08on wearing the ring
  37. 1:09let your piercing know before you get
  38. 1:11pierced so they can put in the right
  39. 1:12spot for you
  40. 1:13now as far as jewelry options go i
  41. 1:16highly suggest starting off with a stud
  42. 1:18there are typically two different types
  43. 1:19of stud there's the threadless version
  44. 1:21and there's also the nostril screw back
  45. 1:24in the 80s and 90s we use these nostril
  46. 1:26screws like this
  47. 1:27all the time and they work great but
  48. 1:30they can hang down it looks like you
  49. 1:31have the metal booger hanging out of
  50. 1:32your nose
  51. 1:33and they can get caught and pulled out
  52. 1:35so they're not as popular of an option
  53. 1:38today
  54. 1:39nowadays more people are using the
  55. 1:40threadless version like this
  56. 1:42there's the backing and then the top can
  57. 1:44push in that allows you to change the
  58. 1:46different tops and there's a lot of
  59. 1:47different options whether you want the
  60. 1:48titanium
  61. 1:49gold um the list can go on and on so i'm
  62. 1:53not going to go there
  63. 1:54but anyways these are really really nice
  64. 1:56the only negative part i find about
  65. 1:58these is a lot of people can't change
  66. 1:59them themselves
  67. 2:00because you have to stick your finger on
  68. 2:02the inside of your nose so hold on to
  69. 2:03the disc
  70. 2:04and be able to separate those two they
  71. 2:05do make tools for it
  72. 2:07most people go to the piercer to have it
  73. 2:08changed
  74. 2:09[Music]
  75. 2:13this piercing under perfect
  76. 2:15circumstances is a fast healer
  77. 2:17a lot of times it's going to seem healed
  78. 2:19after a month but it's probably a
  79. 2:21minimum of
  80. 2:22two months before it could be fully
  81. 2:23healed up now the thing is
  82. 2:25is we can get these caught on towels
  83. 2:27shirts blankets things like that
  84. 2:29and snagged all the time the more you
  85. 2:31snag it the longer it's going to take
  86. 2:33for this to heal up
  87. 2:34that's kind of the big determining
  88. 2:36factor so you've got to be gentle with
  89. 2:37this
  90. 2:38one little snag can create a bump on
  91. 2:39there and can prolong the healing
  92. 2:41process by
  93. 2:42several months i have seen these take
  94. 2:44six eight months to fully fully heal up
  95. 2:47but like i said take care of it good
  96. 2:49don't get it cut
  97. 2:50don't sleep on it and you should be
  98. 2:51healed up in about two months
  99. 2:53[Music]
  100. 2:58how painful is the nostril piercing well
  101. 3:01have you ever been hit in the face
  102. 3:02really hard it's not that bad let's
  103. 3:05check out the paint meter see what that
  104. 3:06says
  105. 3:09[Music]
  106. 3:13it doesn't say it feels like getting
  107. 3:14socked in the face it's pretty low it's
  108. 3:17not very painful
  109. 3:18and honestly every time i've ever had
  110. 3:20mine pierced it's probably equivalent to
  111. 3:22like maybe pulling a couple hairs out at
  112. 3:24one time
  113. 3:24or a small easy shot of the doctor so if
  114. 3:27you're thinking about it and you're
  115. 3:28freaked out over the pain
  116. 3:29don't be it's not that bad
  117. 3:33[Music]
  118. 3:35like most piercings i love the nostril
  119. 3:38piercing
  120. 3:39there's so many options whether you can
  121. 3:41do multiple piercings
  122. 3:42symmetrical asymmetrical the jewelry
  123. 3:45option tops are insane from
  124. 3:47huge tops to small tops to interchange
  125. 3:50you with rings and studs
  126. 3:52this piercing is fun you want options
  127. 3:53you got it here and even looking at mine
  128. 3:56i have mine stretched out that's an
  129. 3:57option most people don't think about
  130. 3:59and most people don't do because it
  131. 4:00hurts pretty bad but it's another option
  132. 4:02this piercing is awesome it heals good
  133. 4:05the only negatives i'm going to say is
  134. 4:06watch out for those towels and shirts
  135. 4:08because they get caught and that
  136. 4:10really really hurts but it's an easy
  137. 4:13healer
  138. 4:13you might get a bump don't freak out
  139. 4:15there's always easier ways to get rid of
  140. 4:16it and if you look up here
  141. 4:18i'll give you a link to show you the
  142. 4:19different things you can do for bumps
  143. 4:21and irritations like that
  144. 4:22be careful keep this jewelry in all the
  145. 4:24time because it can close real quick
  146. 4:26some people you take it out in five
  147. 4:27minutes
  148. 4:28they start closing so keep something in
  149. 4:30there
  150. 4:31listen to your piercer and if you did
  151. 4:33get a nostril screw keep in mind you're
  152. 4:34probably going to want to have that
  153. 4:35downsized in the future because if it's
  154. 4:37moving around too much
  155. 4:38that causes it's irritation great
  156. 4:42piercing

  165. 4:54on one side or another
  166. 4:56is it a selfie side is it a balanced
