The Warlock Build That DEFIED TIME! It's Sad.. [Destiny 2 Warlock Build] — Transcript

1. 0:00As I was thinking back throughout my
2. 0:01years of playing Destiny and through all
3. 0:03the different builds that I have played,
4. 0:04there was one build that kept popping up
5. 0:06over and over. It was back in 2018. Man,
6. 0:09saying that feels like such a long time
7. 0:11ago. We got the Forsaken expansion in
8. 0:13Destiny 2, and that was when my love for
9. 0:15the game was reignited. We had seen the
10. 0:17Tangled Shore in all the promotional
11. 0:18materials, but when we all hit the
12. 0:20Dreaming City together as Guardians and
13. 0:22explored such a great destination,
14. 0:24that's where my enjoyment of builds went
15. 0:26through the roof. We got something like
16. 0:2720-plus new Exotics to chase down, and
17. 0:30they were mostly just random drops, so
18. 0:32when you got one, it felt amazing. And
19. 0:33therein lies the Warlock build that
20. 0:35defied time. It's sad to think about it
21. 0:37this way, but it also brought me so much
22. 0:39joy over the years that it was all worth
23. 0:41it. This is the Vortex grenade Void
24. 0:43Warlock, and at the end of Destiny 2, it
25. 0:45remains one of the best builds to ever
26. 0:47see the light of day throughout the
27. 0:48lifetime in the game. And that's saying
28. 0:50something pretty powerful. Guardians
29. 0:52would always come back to this season
30. 0:54after season, as this build brought the
31. 0:56power of the black hole, and it always
32. 0:58looked so cool to watch the Void black
33. 1:00hole just vaporize entire rooms of
34. 1:01enemies.
35. 1:03On top of that, it had the single target
36. 1:05damage that was always at the top, and
37. 1:07it had a gameplay loop that allowed a
38. 1:08pretty much infinite loop to always have
39. 1:11these deadly Vortex grenades available.
40. 1:13You could just be chucking them out at
41. 1:14enemies left and right. Well, the
42. 1:16gameplay you're watching is with no
43. 1:17extra modifiers on. This is the raw
44. 1:19Vortex grenades on a pretty much
45. 1:21infinite loop that do absurd damage, and
46. 1:23the best part now is the artifact
47. 1:25choices we make that allows us to put
48. 1:27together the best version we have ever
49. 1:29seen. This is adding Void overshields to
50. 1:31a Void Warlock that is normally not
51. 1:33accessible, and this gives us a layer of
52. 1:35damage reduction we have never seen
53. 1:37before. We also add in a damage
54. 1:38reduction armor stat to further this,
55. 1:40and throw in the Strand unravel debuff
56. 1:42to make our Vortex grenades shoot out
57. 1:44that green strands throughout the
58. 1:45battlefield. That makes it one of the
59. 1:47best looking abilities in the game now.
60. 1:49Needless to say, the Void Vortex
61. 1:51grenades on the Void Warlock are still
62. 1:54one of the best abilities throughout the
63. 1:55game, and the Exotic we use was released
64. 1:58back in 2018. So, that's 8 years running
65. 2:01now in Destiny 2 that this thing has
66. 2:02been this powerful. Season after season
67. 2:05or expansion after expansion, it would
68. 2:07have different changes, but the core
69. 2:08remains the same. And now that we have
70. 2:10this final version of Destiny 2 with all
71. 2:12these different artifacts that we can
72. 2:14choose from, it opens up the build to a
73. 2:16lot of possibilities. But before we jump

120. 3:43Void Warlock build that I named the King
121. 3:44of Time, of course you're on the Void
122. 3:46subclass, and you take the Vortex
123. 3:48grenade as our grenade. We pair that
124. 3:50with the two aspects Chaos Accelerant
125. 3:52and Feed the Void. Chaos Accelerant
126. 3:54increases the size, linger duration, and
127. 3:56pull of the Vortex, and it also grants
128. 3:58an additional grenade charge, which was
129. 4:00new a couple seasons ago. So, now you
130. 4:01have two Vortex grenades just sitting in
131. 4:03your back pocket to throw out whenever
132. 4:04you want. You pair that with Feed the
133. 4:06Void. Defeating a target with a Void
134. 4:08ability activates Devour, which our
135. 4:10Vortex grenade will always do. Our
136. 4:12Devour effects are improved, restoring
137. 4:13additional health and grenade energy. We
138. 4:16get close to 20% grenade energy coming
139. 4:18back just when we kill an enemy with our
140. 4:20Vortex grenade, which you're going to be
141. 4:21doing so often. Echo of Remnants, your
142. 4:23lingering grenade effects, which is our
143. 4:25Vortex grenade, has increased duration.
144. 4:27It makes it last longer on the field,
145. 4:29which again just is doing more damage.
146. 4:31We'll pair that with Echo of Harvest.
147. 4:32Defeating weakened targets creates an
148. 4:34Orb of Power and a Void Breach. So,
149. 4:35since that grenade is weakening with
150. 4:37Echo of Undermining, it's auto procking
151. 4:39Echo of Harvest, and it's popping out
152. 4:41Orbs of Power and Void Breaches, which
153. 4:43both play into the build in certain
154. 4:44ways. The Orbs of Power will give us
155. 4:46that Unraveling Rounds to our Strand
156. 4:48weapons, and Void Breaches will give us
157. 4:50class ability and extra super energy
158. 4:52thanks to the artifact we're running.
159. 4:53The last fragment is up to you. I took
160. 4:55Echo of Dilation here just because this
161. 4:57gives us a plus 10 to our super stat and
162. 5:00our weapon stat, which both of those I
163. 5:01wanted to hit close to 100, so this
164. 5:03helped me to do it. For the exotic
165. 5:05weapon you're seeing in the gameplay,
166. 5:06that is Wave Splitter. I've used this in
167. 5:08a couple previous videos. I think it's
168. 5:09one of the best special weapons in the
169. 5:11game now. If you guys want a complete
170. 5:13breakdown on it, you can watch the first
171. 5:15video I posted on the Titan that you see
172. 5:16up on screen, and Wave Splitter just
173. 5:18hits like an absolute truck now, and
174. 5:20thanks to the artifact that we're using,
175. 5:22we just get a flat 50% damage bonus on
176. 5:24it all the time.
177. 5:26The heavy machine gun you're seeing I
178. 5:28was using was Commemoration. Just pick a
179. 5:30Void weapon here, and I was using this
180. 5:32for anti-barrier. So, this allowed my
181. 5:34primary Strand auto rifle to stun
182. 5:36unstoppable champions, my Wave Splitter
183. 5:38would handle overload champions, and the
184. 5:40heavy machine gun would stun barrier
185. 5:41champions for me. For the armor set, I
186. 5:43was running the Exodus Down armor set.
187. 5:45This gives you extra damage reduction
188. 5:47every time you pick up an orbit power.
189. 5:49As you see I had a times two or a times
190. 5:51three up all the time throughout the
191. 5:53gameplay. And when we pair that with our
192. 5:55artifact and how we're procking void
193. 5:56over shields, it just adds a layer of
194. 5:59damage reduction that we've never seen
195. 6:00on the void warlock, which is very
196. 6:02great. For our exotic of choice, we are
197. 6:04taking Contraverse Hold. Again, this
198. 6:06came out in 2018 back with Forsaken.
199. 6:09It's been one of the best exotics in the
200. 6:10game this entire time. Has seen a ton of
201. 6:14different variations and changes from
202. 6:15Bungie, but it still remains one of the
203. 6:17best. And this just gives us the small
204. 6:19perk, which is charged void grenades
205. 6:21return grenade energy on hit. And this
206. 6:23is really important against bosses or
207. 6:25champions because it allows us to just
208. 6:27cycle our grenade back over and over
209. 6:29even on high health targets. We already
210. 6:31have two grenades from the sub class
211. 6:32anyways, so this just further enhances
212. 6:34it. And it allows you to drop that
213. 6:36weakening fragment up top. So you could
214. 6:38run something else here, but the only
215. 6:40reason that I kept this on just in case
216. 6:42I changed my exotic or changed my
217. 6:44grenade out because Echo of Undermining
218. 6:46is still one of the best fragments in
219. 6:47the game. For the stat priorities, you
220. 6:49are aiming for 200 grenade stat. This
221. 6:51allows that grenade to hit 60% harder.
222. 6:54So that is the by far the most important
223. 6:56one. And then you want to get your
224. 6:57weapons close to 100 and your super
225. 6:59close to 100. The weapon just allows our
226. 7:01trace rifle wave splitter to hit that
227. 7:03much harder. And our super stat, we are
228. 7:05going to be getting our super back very
229. 7:06often. So if you have it close to 100,
230. 7:08it plays into the artifact mods we're
231. 7:10going to take that lets you loop that
232. 7:12Nova Bomb very quickly. As you can see
233. 7:14in the gameplay I think I throw like
234. 7:16seven Nova Bombs just in this short
235. 7:17matter of time. So it makes a huge
236. 7:19difference. Speaking of that artifact,
237. 7:21that is the Tablet of Ruin. I still
238. 7:23think it's the best artifact in the
239. 7:25game. And there's three perks in here
240. 7:26that we're taking that just buff this so
241. 7:29well. First is Malignant Harvest, which
242. 7:31is applying weaken provides a small void
243. 7:33overshield. Since our grenades are
244. 7:35always applying weaken to everything
245. 7:37they hit, and since they have such a big
246. 7:39AoE, you're tagging multiple enemies all
247. 7:41the time. This is just refilling your
248. 7:44void overshield over and over. So, it
249. 7:46basically just gives you an infinite
250. 7:48void overshield, which is 70% damage
251. 7:50reduction up all the time. And when you
252. 7:52pair that with the Exodus Down armor set
253. 7:53that we talked about, you have double
254. 7:55the damage reduction that you've ever
255. 7:56had on a void warlock. We'll also take
256. 7:59Unraveling Orbs, which is when we pick
257. 8:01up that orb of power, it grants our
258. 8:03strand weapons Unraveling Rounds. That's
259. 8:05why you see me pull out my Lethal
260. 8:06Abundance auto rifle, which is just
261. 8:08strand, and just tag one or two enemies
262. 8:10with it to apply the unravel debuff, and
263. 8:12then go back to my normal gameplay with
264. 8:14the grenades, because the grenades will
265. 8:16damage enemies and spread that unravel
266. 8:18throughout the entire battlefield. It
267. 8:19does extra damage and it just looks so
268. 8:22satisfying to see. We also take Harsh
269. 8:24Refraction, which trace rifles do more
270. 8:26damage to targets afflicted by elemental
271. 8:28debuffs matching their element type. So,
272. 8:30since our grenades are weakening
273. 8:31everything, we're already doing 50% more
274. 8:33damage with Wave Splitter out the gate.
275. 8:35And if you didn't hit something with
276. 8:37your grenade, Wave Splitter with the
277. 8:38catalyst will suppress targets, which
278. 8:40means you're still proccing this either
279. 8:42way. For the last two perks at the end,
280. 8:44we take Elemental Supercharger, which is
281. 8:46defeating Exhausted or Severed targets
282. 8:48with a with a weapon matching your super
283. 8:50element grants super energy. So, Wave
284. 8:52Splitter is doing this for us and giving
285. 8:54you like 5% extra super energy on every
286. 8:56kill you get. And that Exhausted targets
287. 8:59deals reduced damage. That's 40% less
288. 9:01damage they're dealing to you. And you
289. 9:03stack that on top of the damage
290. 9:04reduction we already mentioned, that's
291. 9:05what makes you so strong. You'll take
292. 9:07Defibrillating Blast, stunning a
293. 9:09champion grants maximum stacks of Bolt
294. 9:11Charge, and then damaging those targets
295. 9:13with the Bolt Charge, which is our
296. 9:14grenade will do that for us, will apply
297. 9:16the Jolt debuff to them. So, now you
298. 9:19have Jolts, Unravel, and Weaken all
299. 9:21happening on a high-health target with
300. 9:23just a grenade. For the first two
301. 9:24columns, we'll take Volatile Marksman.
302. 9:27This will just give us those volatile
303. 9:29detonation rounds to our Wave Splitter,
304. 9:31which we'll have up pretty much all the
305. 9:32time. And the detonations also grant us
306. 9:34class ability energy. And then we'll
307. 9:36take Elemental Siphon. So, when we pick
308. 9:38up the elemental pick up, which is the
309. 9:39void breach, we get extra super energy
310. 9:42coming back to us. Lastly, let's cover
311. 9:44the armor mods. On the helmet, we'll
312. 9:45take ashes to assets. This is just more
313. 9:47super energy when we get grenade kills,
314. 9:49a harmonic siphon to allow wave splitter
315. 9:51to spawn orbs of power for us, and a
316. 9:53special ammo finder to keep up ammo in
317. 9:55the wave splitter exotic. On the
318. 9:57gauntlets, you'll take a firepower. This
319. 9:59will spawn an extra orb of power every
320. 10:0010 seconds from those grenades. When
321. 10:02this is combined with echo of harvest,
322. 10:04you have pretty much an orb of power out
323. 10:06on the field all the time. And then I
324. 10:08took two grenade fonts here, which gives
325. 10:09me a plus 40 to my grenade stat, which
326. 10:11allowed me to hit that 200 grenade stat
327. 10:13that I wanted. This gives those grenades
328. 10:1560% extra damage, and you want to be
329. 10:17using this all the time. On the chest
330. 10:19piece, I use a arc resist, a solar
331. 10:21resist, and a void ammo generation. Void
332. 10:24ammo generation just to help wave
333. 10:25splitter, and combine that with special
334. 10:27ammo finder, and you shouldn't be
335. 10:28running out of ammo ever with wave
336. 10:30splitter. On the boots, I took triple
337. 10:32void weapon surges. This gives us weapon
338. 10:34surge 25% extra damage on our void
339. 10:36weapons, which again is wave splitter
340. 10:39and our heavy. And then on the class
341. 10:40item, you'll take a powerful attraction.
342. 10:42So, when you pop that class ability,
343. 10:43you'll scoop up any orbs of power, a
344. 10:45reaper mod, so again we spawn an extra
345. 10:47orb of power when we kill something with
346. 10:49our weapon, and a time dilation to make
347. 10:51those armor charges last 15 seconds
348. 10:53instead of 10 seconds. That way in a
349. 10:55boss fight or against champions, you
350. 10:57always have that extra 25% damage from
351. 11:00those void weapon surges. And when
352. 11:01you're combining that with the extra
353. 11:03damage from the wave splitter exotic on
354. 11:05its own when it picks up an orb of
355. 11:06power, and the harsh refraction from the
356. 11:08artifact, your wave splitter alone is
357. 11:10putting out serious damage. And when you
358. 11:12combine that with the vortex grenade
359. 11:14going off on the same enemy, you're
360. 11:15pretty much guaranteed to just burst
361. 11:17them down. So, I hope you guys liked
