- 0:00Poppy Playtime is a game known both for
- 0:02its super in-depth, but also very
- 0:04complex and confusing story hidden
- 0:06throughout dozens of documents, VHS
- 0:09tapes, multiple chapters, ARGs, a
- 0:12spin-off, a book, a Fortnite map, and
- 0:14more. So much so, it would take me hours
- 0:17to explain the entire story. And that's
- 0:19why for the next 2 and 1/2 hours, I'm
- 0:22going to fully break down and explain
- 0:24all of the lore in my updated Poppy
- 0:27Playtime timeline. My name is Elliot
- 0:31Ludwig. The Bigger Bodies Initiative. We
- 0:35called it the Hour of Joy.
- 0:39I'm not afraid.
- 0:41I can
- 0:42I can make
- 0:44better.
- 0:45>> [screaming]
- 0:46>> Reminder, as always, this timeline is
- 0:48just my opinion of the story based on
- 0:50what we have now, but relax and I hope
- 0:53you guys enjoy.
- 0:57The entire story of the game starts in
- 1:00the year 1930 with a man named Elliot
- 1:04Ludwig living in Michigan. Elliot was a
- 1:07normal man with a normal life and a
- 1:10normal wife named Molly Ludwig, who you
- 1:13wouldn't think twice about when seeing
- 1:15around town. However, deep down, Elliot
- 1:18was extremely ambitious. He enjoyed
- 1:21creating and inventing things, but most
- 1:24of all, he loved to see people happy.
- 1:28So, one day, he had a great idea to
- 1:31create some happiness of his own by
- 1:34starting a toy factory to provide
- 1:37entertainment and smiles to children and
- 1:40families around the world, leading to
- 1:42the founding of Playtime Co. this same
- 1:45year. From here, Elliot grinded for long
- 1:48hours at the factory trying to get the
- 1:51company off the ground, and eventually,
- 1:53it got to a point where he started to
- 1:55prioritize the families he was making
- 1:58toys for over his own family at back
- 2:01home, leaving his house for work in the
- 2:03early morning and not returning into the
- 2:06late late night to the point where his
- 2:08own neighbors found him to be weird and
- 2:11creepy. After so many months of Elliot
- 2:14doing this, his wife had felt completely
- 2:17abandoned by his commitment and so not
- 2:20even a year after the factory's opening,
- 2:23Molly Ludwig would divorce Elliot,
- 2:26leaving him all alone.
- 2:32The Playtime Factory was still only
- 2:34minorly successful at this point, enough
- 2:37to keep the doors open but no iconic
- 2:40toys to blast the company into the
- 2:42mainstream or anything like that.
- 2:44However, despite this, Elliot wanted to
- 2:46take his love for providing happiness to
- 2:49children to the next level as he quickly
- 2:52realized that among the many families he
- 2:56had already been starting to bring so
- 2:58much joy to with his toys, there were
- 3:01also many children that had no family,
- 3:05orphans. And while for the moment at the
- 3:08small size of the company, there wasn't
- 3:10much Playtime Co or Elliot could really
- 3:13do about this, in the year 1949 on March
- 3:177th, a child was born under the name
- 3:20Poppy. Poppy's past for the most part is
- 3:24left a mystery but we know that she must
- 3:27have been an orphan herself as shortly
- 3:29after her birth, Elliot would make his
- 3:32first attempt at solving the orphan
- 3:34problem by taking her in and adopting
- 3:37the young child, giving her the new name
- 3:40Poppy Ludwig. And little did they know
- 3:43that this moment would change the
- 3:45trajectory of their lives and the
- 3:47Playtime Factory forever.
- 3:53Elliot was now a single father to the
- 3:56young child Poppy and he absolutely
- 3:59adored her, caring for her deeply
- 4:01despite his long hours at the factory,
- 4:03cherishing that he once again had a
- 4:06family. And eventually to show his
- 4:08appreciation for her, he chose to make
- 4:11an ode to her in the factory by creating
- 4:14a toy completely dedicated to Poppy of a
- 4:17doll that he named Poppy Playtime. The
- 4:22Poppy Playtime doll was an absolute
- 4:24mastermind creation of Elliot's. Using
- 4:26his inventor skills, he managed to
- 4:28create a doll that was more
- 4:30technologically advanced than any other
- 4:32at the time, being able to talk to the
- 4:35children and hold a conversation like
- 4:37she was a real person. Furthermore, her
- 4:40red hair was super realistic and smelled
- 4:43of poppy flowers, which would soothe the
- 4:46children that interacted with it, giving
- 4:48it a therapeutic element as well. This
- 4:51toy, upon release, would absolutely
- 4:53explode Elliot's company into stardom.
- 4:57Millions of families would purchase the
- 4:59toy for their homes, providing the joy
- 5:01to the many children that Elliot was
- 5:03striving to reach for so many years now.
- 5:06This was everything he ever wanted. With
- 5:08such big growth of the company, Elliot
- 5:10would also start to hire out some help
- 5:13to make operations more efficient,
- 5:15bringing on employees such as Thomas
- 5:18Clark in 1955. Or most importantly,
- 5:21around a similar time, he hired Leith
- 5:23Pierre. An employee he was much closer
- 5:26to than the others, putting him in
- 5:28charge of innovation at the factory. And
- 5:31he had even let him meet his daughter
- 5:33Poppy. Although make no mistake, Leith
- 5:36was a lot different personality-wise
- 5:38from Elliot, being much more arrogant
- 5:41and business-minded. Although under
- 5:43Elliot's leadership, he was still a
- 5:45great fit and only helped the factory
- 5:48more. Furthermore, Elliot would also
- 5:50revamp the factory with things like the
- 5:53Grab Pack to make building these toys
- 5:55not just easier, but also fun. His main
- 5:59goal with everything. Then he struck
- 6:01gold again as he made another toy in the
- 6:04late 1950s that called Dowie Doe. A
- 6:08Play-Doh ask moldable clay featuring the
- 6:11mascot Dowie the Doe Man, which shot the
- 6:14factory's pop ularity up even further.
- 6:17Things were going amazingly for Elliot.
- 6:19He had a daughter that he could call a
- 6:21part of his family after being left
- 6:23alone for years, and his factory was
- 6:26reaching explosive heights all thanks to
- 6:29her. Safe to say it was a good time to
- 6:31be Elliot Ludwig in the 1950s.
- 6:37Following the boom of the Playtime
- 6:39Company, Elliot was able to provide more
- 6:42forms of joy for families when he would
- 6:44open up his factory for official tours,
- 6:47where anybody could come inside and view
- 6:50how the many toys he was creating were
- 6:52built. He even would invent the
- 6:54Make-A-Friend Machine in 1960, so that
- 6:57the visitors of the factory could come
- 6:59inside and create their very own toys
- 7:02out of this cartoonish toy maker with
- 7:04levers to pull and eyes that moved
- 7:06around like it was really living. On the
- 7:09topic of Poppy the human, she had just
- 7:12reached 11 years old in March of that
- 7:15same year, and as she grew up, she only
- 7:17became more and more in love with
- 7:20Elliot's factory. She wrote in her diary
- 7:22how much she adored all of the new toys
- 7:25Elliot was creating every single year,
- 7:27with the most recent one being some kind
- 7:29of sailor toy as she wrote. Now, at this
- 7:32point, she had begun going to school for
- 7:35a while, and with her status as the
- 7:37daughter of the famous Elliot Ludwig,
- 7:40other kids would often talk with her
- 7:42about him and warned her that as she got
- 7:45older, she would grow bitter and her
- 7:48love for the factory would wane over
- 7:50time. But, she didn't care what they
- 7:52said. She loved it. Elliot would also
- 7:54tell her that he eventually wanted to
- 7:56build more Playtime Co. facilities all
- 7:59across the world one day and she hoped
- 8:01to travel there to see them when they
- 8:03were finished. Beyond Poppy though, the
- 8:05factory would create more successful
- 8:07toys like Bron the Dinosaur in 1961 and
- 8:11Boxy Boo in 1966 among presumably many
- 8:15other undated experiments like
- 8:17Pianosaurus and his dinosaur band to
- 8:20keep growing the factory further.
- 8:22However, as the years went on, Elliot
- 8:25wanted to do even more to help out
- 8:28children. As while sure, the factory was
- 8:31doing its job great and he had also
- 8:34adopted an orphan to give her a better
- 8:36life, he knew he could do so much more
- 8:39good if he just kept innovating. So,
- 8:43while nothing much would come from it
- 8:44for now, he began to mess with the idea
- 8:47of scientific experimentation.
- 8:50Specifically, he wanted to see if it
- 8:52were possible to not just improve the
- 8:54lives of the living children with
- 8:56material objects, but also potentially
- 9:00extend the lives of the children
- 9:02biologically. It sounded like a crazy
- 9:05over ambitious goal, but when did that
- 9:07ever stop him when creating the factory?
- 9:09Over this time, he would begin to run
- 9:12these little mini experiments with
- 9:14things like rats attempting to find a
- 9:17way to scientifically resurrect them.
- 9:20Now, for the first few hundred
- 9:21experiments, things were unsuccessful,
- 9:24but by experiment 814,
- 9:28he had created some kind of red gel
- 9:30mixture made with poppy flowers that he
- 9:34would submerge deceased rats into hoping
- 9:37for them to resurrect. This did not
- 9:40work, but it gave Elliot hope that there
- 9:42was a future there with the Poppy Joe,
- 9:45especially since he theorized that there
- 9:47would potentially be better results
- 9:49working on larger test subjects. And so,
- 9:53from here on out, he would continue
- 9:55testing out the technology with a farcry
- 9:57goal that maybe at some point it could
- 10:00be used to revive actual people. But
- 10:02anyway, at some point in the '60s,
- 10:05Elliot also had another idea to help
- 10:08children in need, specifically when it
- 10:10came to building careers. As he would
- 10:13develop and launch the Young Geniuses
- 10:16Program, a program where children could
- 10:19visit the factory and help Elliot Ludwig
- 10:22with innovation. Meant to be a way to
- 10:25both get children involved with the
- 10:27invention part of the factory and to
- 10:30scout out intelligent minds that could
- 10:32help develop the factory when they got
- 10:34older. Especially when it came to the
- 10:37experimental stuff that he was starting
- 10:38to tinker with. Many children would
- 10:40apply to this program and many would get
- 10:43accepted, like Charlie Moth, Bruno
- 10:45White, Benjamin Rutherford, and most
- 10:48importantly of all, there was a child
- 10:51named Harley Sawyer. Harley was a very
- 10:54quiet and isolated child with a very
- 10:57shaky life back home and that showed
- 11:00when he visited the factory, as he had
- 11:02little care for talking or friendship.
- 11:05However, he took a very intense liking
- 11:08to Elliot and the scientific [music]
- 11:10process. He enjoyed getting to learn
- 11:13from him and said being a part of the
- 11:15program was all that he had ever wanted.
- 11:18Not only that, but he was extremely
- 11:20intelligent. He was even described as
- 11:23the most brilliant mind that Elliot had
- 11:26ever seen. Despite this, Ludwig was
- 11:29quick to keep an eye on Sawyer, as it
- 11:32was clear that with a mind as cynically
- 11:34dedicated to progress as Harley is, if
- 11:37not surrounded by kindness, it could
- 11:40quickly twist for the worst. And as time
- 11:43passed, that's exactly what happened.
- 11:46Because Elliot and Harley began to
- 11:48quickly and not get along for one very
- 11:51simple reason. While Elliot believed in
- 11:54research and innovation for the sake of
- 11:57helping others, Harley, as mentioned,
- 12:00was much more cynical and believed that
- 12:02progress was the most important thing at
- 12:05any cost. This led to Harley believing
- 12:08that Elliot was soft and was missing the
- 12:11point of innovation. But that mindset is
- 12:14what led to Elliot eventually removing
- 12:17Harley from the program despite his
- 12:20geniusness. And while this would send
- 12:22Harley down a complete mental spiral
- 12:24saying that nobody cared or nobody
- 12:26understood or he even called Elliot a
- 12:29soft pathetic small-minded backstabber.
- 12:32For now, he was out of the factory,
- 12:34probably for the better. This made
- 12:36Elliot sad, but unfortunately, things
- 12:40would get a whole lot worse for him. As
- 12:43suddenly and tragically, his daughter,
- 12:46Poppy Ludwig, would end up passing away
- 12:49far, far too young. And just like that,
- 12:53again, Elliot's only family member had
- 12:55left him. This time, his own daughter.
- 12:58This brought him to his lowest point
- 13:01mentally, but that doesn't mean that
- 13:03things were completely hopeless. We
- 13:06already mentioned before that Elliot had
- 13:08began messing around with the idea of
- 13:11biological experimentation and
- 13:13specifically resurrection. Stuff that
- 13:16didn't work on rats, but as he noted in
- 13:18the experiment log, had potential to
- 13:21work on larger test subjects, perhaps a
- 13:24human. This gave him the desperate and
- 13:28quite frankly insane idea to try
- 13:30experimenting on his own daughter and
- 13:33attempt to revive her. Specifically
- 13:36settling on the idea of turning her into
- 13:39a Poppy Playtime doll, since after all
- 13:43the doll was meant to be a toy
- 13:45recreation of herself anyway, and the
- 13:47porcelain synthetic build of the doll
- 13:50would allow her to bypass the mortality
- 13:53of a normal human body. Elliot thought
- 13:55it would be worth the attempt. But with
- 13:58how little experience he had, he knew it
- 14:00would be extremely risky to essentially
- 14:03take apart his own daughter surgically,
- 14:05especially with how difficult it would
- 14:07be to transfer her entire human body to
- 14:10the small shell of a doll. He'd only
- 14:13have one shot at creating her, but he
- 14:16just wasn't confident enough in himself.
- 14:19And he needed some way to practice,
- 14:22giving him an extremely desperate but
- 14:24also extremely sketchy idea. Out of
- 14:27desperation, Elliot would adopt himself
- 14:30a new child, a son under the name of
- 14:34Oliver. However, he did not adopt this
- 14:37orphan with plans to nurture and take
- 14:39care of them like he did with Poppy, but
- 14:42rather he took advantage of the fact
- 14:44that he was a child with no parents to
- 14:46look after him if he were to say it
- 14:49disappear. And therefore, going against
- 14:52all of his morals he had established
- 14:54over the past decades, he experimented
- 14:57on the child first and turned him into a
- 15:00large-scale model of the planned Poppy
- 15:02doll's hand skeleton, since that was the
- 15:05smallest part of the doll and therefore
- 15:07the hardest to create. He worked hard on
- 15:10the experiment, using this mysterious
- 15:13red gel to hopefully bring the child
- 15:15back to life in this new form, and to
- 15:18his absolute shock, it was a complete
- 15:21success. He had proved that he could
- 15:24create a living breathing toy with his
- 15:271,006th
- 15:29experiments. However, among all of this
- 15:32panic trying to find a way to revive his
- 15:34daughter, Elliot failed to consider the
- 15:36fact that what he had just done was
- 15:39essentially turn an entirely innocent
- 15:42healthy child into a morbid robotic
- 15:45beast. When Oliver woke up and saw the
- 15:48being that he had been turned into, he
- 15:50was rightfully mortified and was more
- 15:53specifically angry. He was taken
- 15:56advantage of for the sake of a different
- 15:58child that he never even knew and this
- 16:01devastated him. He didn't feel like a
- 16:04human being anymore and even refused to
- 16:07go by his old name Oliver and instead
- 16:10just wanted to be called the prototype
- 16:12since that's all he considered himself
- 16:14anymore, a prototype sacrifice for
- 16:17somebody else's creation. If there was
- 16:20any good news among all of this tragedy
- 16:23though, it was that using the large hand
- 16:26model as a reference, Elliot would
- 16:28eventually work on his actual daughter
- 16:31and would successfully surgically
- 16:33replace and revive her as a Poppy
- 16:36Playtime Doll, experiment 1007.
- 16:41Poppy Ludwig was back. Now, this was
- 16:45phenomenal news, but Elliot no longer
- 16:49could stand the idea of wasting so much
- 16:51of his time away at work when he should
- 16:54be cherishing the time with his clearly
- 16:57fragile family he almost lost for the
- 16:59second time. So, this time around he
- 17:02decided to bring his family to work,
- 17:06building a small home inside of the
- 17:08factory right across from his office
- 17:11where he put Poppy, allowing him to
- 17:14easily visit her just a few steps away,
- 17:17and have a some kind of family life like
- 17:20he always had wanted. Although, I should
- 17:22note somebody not included in this
- 17:25family equation was Oliver. Despite
- 17:28Elliot telling Oliver that they could
- 17:30still be a family, We could be a family
- 17:35if you want. And that him and Poppy
- 17:38would get along great, he wouldn't let
- 17:40him meet Poppy despite him constantly
- 17:43asking. The reason for this is unknown,
- 17:46but it's most likely that Elliot was
- 17:48scared of the prototype. Because as we
- 17:51mentioned, 1006 was specifically
- 17:54extremely angry, and Elliot probably
- 17:57didn't want to risk allowing something
- 17:59into the home with Poppy that could
- 18:01possibly harm her once again.
- 18:03Nonetheless, Elliot got what he wanted
- 18:06with the return of Poppy, and that's
- 18:08where this decade came to a bittersweet
- 18:11close.
- 18:15With the continued success of the
- 18:17factory, new toys would be created like
- 18:20Candy Cat, a rolling gumball machine,
- 18:23and Yarnaby, a fluffy rainbow lion with
- 18:27hair made of yarn meant to promote a
- 18:29wildlife conservation campaign, another
- 18:32good deed of Elliot's. Eventually in
- 18:341972, Elliot would partner with a
- 18:37construction company, Warren B.
- 18:39Construction, to expand the Playtime Co.
- 18:42building further, creating all sorts of
- 18:45new areas, namely a full-blown
- 18:47innovation wing, all sorts of production
- 18:50lines, and a Playtime Co. theater where
- 18:53they could play shows for tour guests to
- 18:55name a few. However, the biggest thing
- 18:57that they would create during this time
- 19:00would be in 1976
- 19:03when Elliot revisited his relationship
- 19:05with orphans. While it had been rocky up
- 19:08until this point to say the least, he
- 19:10still valued them, and possibly out of
- 19:13guilt for what he had done with Ollie,
- 19:15he decided to create an entire orphanage
- 19:19program under his company, centered
- 19:21around providing homes and happiness to
- 19:24those without parents. Starting the
- 19:26Playtime Co. Foster and Adoptive Care
- 19:28Initiative to encourage the adoption of
- 19:31children among Playtime Co. employees,
- 19:33while also having Warren Bach build an
- 19:36entirely new place to house them in
- 19:39Playcare. An orphanage below the ground
- 19:42that was domed off and designed to
- 19:44recreate essentially a paradise for
- 19:47children. It gave them beds to sleep,
- 19:49schools to learn, counselors to talk to,
- 19:52a toy store, a playground, all
- 19:55throughout a massive city facade. Elliot
- 19:58would also hire all sorts of upper-level
- 20:00employees at or around this time, like
- 20:03Stella Grayber, who would manage
- 20:05Playcare, Jimmy Roth, the head of
- 20:07marketing, Stuart, who would be the
- 20:10current head of shipping, and Eddie
- 20:12Ritterman, the head of research, among
- 20:14others.
- 20:19At this point in Playtime Co.'s history,
- 20:21they were certainly successful, and the
- 20:23factory would continue to expand as
- 20:26normal with the creation of toys like
- 20:28the Swap-a-Mols, a line of expandable
- 20:31toys featuring PJ Pug-a-Pillar and
- 20:33Cat-Bee. There was Bonzo Bunny, and they
- 20:36even made an action figure based off of
- 20:38the popular Dewey Dough toy, Dewey the
- 20:40Dough-Man. But now, being 30 years
- 20:43removed from the release of Poppy
- 20:46Playtime, the factory's best days
- 20:48appeared to be behind them. That is,
- 20:51until the year 1984,
- 20:54when Elliot and Playtime would release
- 20:57none other than Huggy Wuggy, a blue,
- 21:01hairy, smiling stuffed animal that
- 21:04absolutely exploded the factory's
- 21:07popularity to even higher levels than
- 21:10the Poppy doll ever did. Huggy quickly
- 21:13became Playtime Co.'s most successful
- 21:15toy, selling millions, and it wouldn't
- 21:18take long for them to capitalize on this
- 21:20success further by immediately turning
- 21:23around and releasing a pink female
- 21:25version of Huggy named Kissy Missy just
- 21:28a year later in 1985, expanding the
- 21:30universe even wider, along with
- 21:33releasing the mini Huggies around this
- 21:35point for a more affordable version as
- 21:37well. Playtime Co. now had hit a
- 21:40completely new peak. It was making more
- 21:42money than ever, selling more toys than
- 21:45ever, and most importantly to Elliot,
- 21:48helping and providing joy to more people
- 21:51than ever. Although speaking on Elliot,
- 21:55at this point he was beginning to get a
- 21:57quite old, working on the factory for
- 22:00over 50 years now. And so he began to
- 22:03scale back into retirement, allocating
- 22:06more and more duties to his right-hand
- 22:09man, Leith Pierre, to be his presumed
- 22:12successor once he fully was retired.
- 22:15Although he wouldn't really get to
- 22:18retire because brewing beneath all of
- 22:21this newfound success over all of these
- 22:23years was Oliver or the prototype's rage
- 22:27against Elliot for what he had done to
- 22:29him. After years now his anger had
- 22:33finally reached a boiling point and it
- 22:35was his time to get revenge. Eventually
- 22:38the prototype would attack and kill
- 22:42Elliot before then attempting to make an
- 22:45escape through Playcare where he'd
- 22:48temporarily hide among all of the other
- 22:50children. After Elliot's mysterious
- 22:53disappearance, at first nobody knew what
- 22:56happened to his body, but it wouldn't
- 22:58take too long for them to to out. As a
- 23:01back over into Playcare, the prototype
- 23:04wanted to break for the next exit.
- 23:06However, in order to power on the back
- 23:09door he wanted to use to escape, he
- 23:11would need to power it with two green
- 23:14GrabPack Hand Chargers, an attachment
- 23:17for the GrabPack developed so that
- 23:19employees could power on doors whenever
- 23:21they wanted. Obviously, he couldn't
- 23:23power these on because he was just a
- 23:25hand and also risked being caught when
- 23:28trying to steal the equipment. However,
- 23:30for as limited as he was physically, he
- 23:33had grown to mentally be extremely
- 23:36intelligent and more specifically
- 23:39manipulative. Because he eventually
- 23:41befriended a child inside of Playcare
- 23:43named Theodore Grambell, a young
- 23:467-year-old kid that sadly didn't have
- 23:49very many friends. However, the
- 23:51prototype offered to befriend him and
- 23:53would live under his bed pretending to
- 23:55be a quote imaginary friend as to not
- 23:59raise any suspicion if the kid were to
- 24:01talk about him. Anyway, 1006 manipulated
- 24:05Theo into digging through Playtime Co.
- 24:07documents and eventually collected the
- 24:09two GrabPacks and two green hand
- 24:12attachments that he needed before
- 24:14finally planning an escape one night
- 24:16through the aforementioned exit.
- 24:18However, while trying to do this, Theo,
- 24:21still being a young child, ended up
- 24:24shocking himself with the green hand and
- 24:27was critically injured. Now, the
- 24:29prototype could have and maybe should
- 24:31have ran away and left Theo here to die.
- 24:34However, I guess realizing that he'd be
- 24:37no better than the man he just killed if
- 24:40he himself were to destroy the life of
- 24:42another orphan by leaving him here, the
- 24:44prototype instead awarded the staff to
- 24:47the child's injuries, both saving Theo's
- 24:51life but also leading to the discovery
- 24:53of the prototype and perhaps most
- 24:56importantly Elliot's body, finally
- 24:58giving them some kind of reason for his
- 25:01disappearance. He was killed by this
- 25:03thing. Nonetheless, the factory workers
- 25:06were horrified by what they saw,
- 25:08especially the company's new leader,
- 25:10Leith Pierre. And upon trying to talk to
- 25:14the prototype in containment to figure
- 25:16out what happened or develop some kind
- 25:19of motive, he simply wouldn't talk or do
- 25:22anything to give any kind of
- 25:23explanation. However, to learn more
- 25:26about this Playcare incident, Leith
- 25:28would hire himself a private
- 25:30investigator named Jared Lockhart, who
- 25:33he tasked with investigating all of
- 25:35these incidents and going through
- 25:37Elliot's files, specifically to
- 25:40hopefully learn more about what this
- 25:42random metal claw creature is meant to
- 25:44be. Only for Jared to find mentions and
- 25:48later discover that there was a second
- 25:51creation, experiment 1007,
- 25:54Poppy. The real, living Poppy. This doll
- 25:58perplexed Leith because while she was
- 26:01much more willing to talk and give him
- 26:03answers, which was helpful, she
- 26:05introduced herself as Poppy Bloodwig, as
- 26:09in [music]
- 26:09Elliot's daughter. And she even
- 26:12remembered meeting Leith years ago and
- 26:14had the same voice from back then as
- 26:16well. Although notably, she didn't
- 26:18particularly look happy, but rather
- 26:21appeared to be traumatized by
- 26:23everything, likely because her father
- 26:25was dead. While Leith would be thrown
- 26:27another curveball when throughout
- 26:30Elliot's files, they found mentions of
- 26:32the resurrecting red Poppy gel as well.
- 26:36Now, as confusing as discovering all of
- 26:38this must have been, Leith, being the
- 26:40businessman he was, quickly saw a ton of
- 26:44potential in all of this for the
- 26:46company. Elliot first burst onto the
- 26:48scene with the lifelike Poppy doll, but
- 26:51if they can now figure out how to use
- 26:53all of this tech to make toys as
- 26:55realistic as this Poppy doll, it would
- 26:58put any other toy company out of
- 27:00business. They wouldn't be able to
- 27:02compete. Now, unfortunately, Leith
- 27:04didn't have the technical know-how to
- 27:06take these things apart and definitely
- 27:08wouldn't know how to recreate them. But,
- 27:11he knew some people that maybe could. As
- 27:14another thing that Elliot had left
- 27:16behind was the Young Geniuses program.
- 27:20Filled with a list of ambitious children
- 27:23from decades in the past. Leith would
- 27:25have his investigator, Jared, track down
- 27:28every single member of the program and
- 27:31figure out what happened to them all.
- 27:33Some people built up normal successful
- 27:35careers doing things like
- 27:36anesthesiology. Some people appeared to
- 27:39be dead. Others had no descriptions at
- 27:41all. However, there was one person that
- 27:44stood out to the team, Harley Sawyer,
- 27:48now Dr. Harley Sawyer, who had many
- 27:51years of what they called, quote,
- 27:53practical experience, being certified by
- 27:56the ABNS or the American Board of
- 28:00Neurological Surgery. Meaning that after
- 28:02his run-in with the factory, Harley had
- 28:04become a professional in neurology or
- 28:08the study of the brain. This, along with
- 28:10his reported high-level intelligence in
- 28:12the past and obsession with Playtime Co,
- 28:15made him everything that factory needed
- 28:18right now. Although, there were still a
- 28:20lot of worries about his reported
- 28:22temperament as a child. So, despite him
- 28:25being by far the best candidate, they
- 28:28would instead avoid him and would rather
- 28:31hire a few other scientists from the
- 28:33program, namely Bruno White, Anthony
- 28:36Carrizales, and Carmine and Evelyn
- 28:39McCabe. Upon bringing them all in to
- 28:42study everything, they too were
- 28:45unsuccessful at understanding these
- 28:47creations with how complex they were.
- 28:50And the only person to have any real
- 28:52documented success would be Anthony, who
- 28:55couldn't recreate any of Elliot's
- 28:58inventions or anything. But he was able
- 29:00to make something interesting of his
- 29:03own. A red poppy flower based gas that
- 29:06he would call Eternum Somnium, Latin for
- 29:11eternal sleep. Because it was found that
- 29:14when a subject would breathe the [music]
- 29:16gas in, it would immediately put them to
- 29:19sleep. Eventually being renamed to the
- 29:22better known red smoke. And while sure
- 29:25it didn't bring them any closer to
- 29:27solving the experiments or even being
- 29:30useful in any way, especially since it
- 29:32had a ton of negative side effects like
- 29:35hallucinations, unusual heart activity,
- 29:38and chills, it was still very
- 29:40interesting and the company would keep
- 29:42producing and testing this stuff into
- 29:44the future to see if it could be useful.
- 29:47Now, I'll touch more again on all the
- 29:49experimental stuff in a moment, but for
- 29:52now the factory wasn't focused on that.
- 29:54Because eventually they discovered that
- 29:56Elliot's files hid one more important
- 30:00thing. Plans for a never released toy
- 30:04line called the Smiling Critters. A set
- 30:08of eight themed characters designed to
- 30:10come with plushes that dispensed various
- 30:13scents and had a cartoon centered around
- 30:15them. With the factory raking in dough
- 30:18with the Wuggy success, Leith had a ton
- 30:21of faith in this conceptual line and
- 30:23therefore dumped as much of their new
- 30:25fortune as they could into developing
- 30:28and releasing the line ASAP, hoping for
- 30:31it to be a massive success. Releasing in
- 30:341989,
- 30:35however, it was extremely controversial.
- 30:39For the cartoon, only one season was
- 30:42ever produced because it was hated by
- 30:44almost everybody that watched it. Mostly
- 30:47for how creepy one of the critters were,
- 30:49Catnap, who unlike all of the others
- 30:52with these bold and outgoing happy
- 30:54personalities, was stone-cold silent.
- 30:58And in one of the episodes, he dispensed
- 31:01a red smoke to the critters to make them
- 31:03sleep. A direct nod to the smoke being
- 31:06produced in the factory, which creeped
- 31:09children out. And furthermore, when
- 31:11producing the plush line with all of the
- 31:14toys unique scents, Catnap was supposed
- 31:17to dispense a clear lavender scent, but
- 31:20instead, he dispensed none other than
- 31:22the red smoke itself, causing the owners
- 31:26of the plush not to be soothed, but
- 31:29rather to fall into an intense sleep
- 31:31with horrifying nightmares. This
- 31:34disaster led to the Catnap plush being
- 31:36recalled, but Playtime Co. was put under
- 31:39so much back lash that the line itself
- 31:41would never really recover. And despite
- 31:44them publicly pretending that the
- 31:46Smiling Critters were a success, the
- 31:48company was basically financially ruined
- 31:51by this. They would attempt to sort of
- 31:54resurrect the line with a sequel in the
- 31:57Nightmare Critters, but the tragedy of
- 31:59the Smiling Critters would leave that
- 32:01unsuccessful as well. They would also
- 32:03attempt to recreate the Wuggies craze by
- 32:06making a similarly themed character,
- 32:09Chum Chugging,
- 32:10that was also not very well received.
- 32:13Not only that, but with the
- 32:15disappearance of Elliot to the outside
- 32:17world, eventually police would search
- 32:19his home, and inside of a duffel bag
- 32:22upstairs, they would find a body of a
- 32:25young boy with missing organs and bones.
- 32:29The body that once made up the child,
- 32:32Oliver. This report going public shed
- 32:35another new negative light on the
- 32:37company. And while Playtime Co.
- 32:39proclaimed his innocence, neighbors
- 32:41noted Elliot's creepy behavior when he
- 32:44would suspiciously leave the house at
- 32:46random times at night, building more of
- 32:49an eerie narrative around the factory.
- 32:52The founder was dead, and the happy
- 32:54image they had built for decades was
- 32:57beginning to crumble.
- 33:02Following all of these disasters around
- 33:04the company, it seemed like Playtime Co.
- 33:07was going to fall under Leith Pierre's
- 33:09leadership, and he needed to figure
- 33:11something out quickly. With his only
- 33:14real hope being the couple of
- 33:16experiments and biological research done
- 33:19by Elliot Ludwig. Sure, he saw the
- 33:21potential in them, but even with the
- 33:23help from the other scientists, they
- 33:25couldn't figure out how any of it was
- 33:27made. However, he did still have one
- 33:30final option, Harley Sawyer. By far the
- 33:35smartest and most applicable of any of
- 33:37the studied young geniuses program at
- 33:39children. Sure, he was super problematic
- 33:42in Playtime Co. years previously, but at
- 33:45this point, the company was desperate
- 33:48for any kind of knowledge that they
- 33:50could get. And so, Leith would end up
- 33:52inviting him back all these years later
- 33:55on January 15th of 1990. An invite that
- 33:59Harley was sure to not miss. Leading to
- 34:03him officially joining the factory's
- 34:05team. Harley was now back. When entering
- 34:09the factory, he was introduced to Poppy,
- 34:12the prototype, and of course, the red
- 34:15gel with the goal of recreating them.
- 34:17Now, first, starting with the gel, after
- 34:20researching it a bit, it was understood
- 34:22that this Poppy gel was a restorative
- 34:24mixture that encouraged cellular
- 34:27regeneration and tissue growth.
- 34:29Essentially, it was how Elliot was able
- 34:31to repair and regenerate the bodies he
- 34:34was experimenting on to give them life.
- 34:37Now, when Playtime Co. studied the
- 34:39medium with Harley, they were actually
- 34:41eventually able to recreate it out of
- 34:44their own poppy flowers. However, upon
- 34:46studying their medium, they learned that
- 34:49it had some harmful effects.
- 34:51Specifically, it would harm human beings
- 34:53that were exposed to it without
- 34:55protection, and when given organic
- 34:57material to feed off of, it would
- 34:59uncontrollably grow. So much so that
- 35:03when testing the red gel on plant life,
- 35:06it immediately grew uncontrollably and
- 35:09even developed massive fruits and
- 35:11vegetables that when consumed by lab
- 35:14rats would then grow and consume their
- 35:17internal organs from the inside out,
- 35:19proving that the gel was dangerously
- 35:22good at reproducing itself and needed to
- 35:24be controlled. So, along with the poppy
- 35:27gel, they also had to create a separate
- 35:30negation compound that essentially did
- 35:33the exact opposite and stopped
- 35:36biological growth. Next, Harley would
- 35:38study both the prototype and a poppy to
- 35:42figure out how they were created, taking
- 35:45specifically the more cooperative poppy
- 35:47apart and seeing what was inside.
- 35:50Eventually deciding that he was ready to
- 35:52attempt an experiment of his own.
- 35:55Except, there was a problem. These
- 35:57beings were not independent and had to
- 36:00be created from something already
- 36:02living. And as we saw from Elliot's
- 36:04research, smaller subjects wouldn't
- 36:06suffice and they need an actual human
- 36:08being. So, where would they find human
- 36:11test subjects to experiment on? Well,
- 36:14Leith and the Playtime Co. team was
- 36:17super desperate, so they needed to find
- 36:19something now. Both the prototype and
- 36:22poppy were made from children, so they
- 36:24specifically want to find a child test
- 36:27subject that also wouldn't alert anyone
- 36:30so they wouldn't get caught. Then just
- 36:32like Elliot, they realized they have an
- 36:35entire orphanage program built into the
- 36:38factory with dozens of children that had
- 36:41no parents and no records outside of the
- 36:44company. If they were to say go missing,
- 36:47nobody would notice exactly like what
- 36:50Elliot did all those years ago. So they
- 36:53began to select and take various
- 36:56children out of play care as if they had
- 36:58been {quote} adopted and gave them to
- 37:02Sawyer to begin experimenting on them.
- 37:04Where at first he was shockingly very
- 37:07unsuccessful. Continuing off Elliot's
- 37:10experiment numbers by experiment 1015,
- 37:14when transferring a child's mind to a
- 37:16toy, the best Harley could get was minor
- 37:20brain activity and that was all.
- 37:22Nonetheless, he stayed confident that
- 37:24this is normal writing. After all, we
- 37:27are dealing with a field so new it has
- 37:29no name, much less a clear path. By
- 37:32experiment 1026, Sawyer was finally able
- 37:35to build some kind of consciousness
- 37:37within the toys. Noting that this
- 37:39experiment was alive for a total of 45
- 37:42minutes. However, only three of those
- 37:44could be considered a conscious state.
- 37:46Upon first signs of awakening, 1026 sat
- 37:49upright as if startled by something.
- 37:52They stared blankly at the other end of
- 37:54the observation room. Of course,
- 37:56assisting staff members rushed in
- 37:58checking the equipment and asking them a
- 38:00variety of questions. 1026 answered none
- 38:03of them, but directed their gaze at
- 38:05whoever was talking and was even able to
- 38:08track a moving object, a staff member's
- 38:11index finger, when prompted. Subject
- 38:13then slowly laid back down and closed
- 38:16their eyes. After a few minutes, blood
- 38:18pressure began falling extremely rapidly
- 38:20and 1026 expired. Attempts to
- 38:23resuscitate were unsuccessful. After
- 38:26over a hundred more experiments trying
- 38:29the same thing, Harley continued to fail
- 38:32and eventually he started to hit a wall.
- 38:34No matter what he did, these tiny
- 38:36toy-sized experiments were far too
- 38:38difficult to recreate as attempting to
- 38:41stuff all these organs and bones and
- 38:44nerves into something as small as a toy
- 38:46was borderline impossible without
- 38:48absolute perfection. Something Elliot
- 38:50clearly had with the Poppy doll, but
- 38:53something Harley was far from
- 38:54uncovering. However, when taking a
- 38:56closer look at the interior of the Poppy
- 38:58doll through an x-ray, they noticed that
- 39:01the hand of the doll was almost
- 39:03one-for-one identical with the claw of
- 39:06the much larger prototype. This is when
- 39:08Harley realized that before trying to
- 39:11make things small and precise, he first
- 39:14needed to try working on something
- 39:16bigger. For instance, a giant toy. One
- 39:20that wouldn't need to be nearly as
- 39:22precise and could contain all of the
- 39:24proper human biology needed for them to
- 39:27live. The toy he decided to try this
- 39:30idea with was none other than Boxy Boo
- 39:34under the name experiment 1160.
- 39:37After working and developing the
- 39:40creation for a while, to his shock, it
- 39:43was a huge success. Boxy could move, he
- 39:47could respond, he was fully sentient. He
- 39:49could do almost everything that they had
- 39:52wanted. He wasn't absolutely perfect as
- 39:55Elliot's experiments were far more
- 39:57stable and were also totally immortal in
- 40:00the way that while Boxy Boo had to be
- 40:02fed and actively sustained like a human
- 40:05being, Elliot's experiments did not and
- 40:07realistically couldn't die. But,
- 40:10regardless, this was plenty of good
- 40:12enough. So, Harley now knew how to make
- 40:15the experiments. However, only being
- 40:17able to make a large toys instead of
- 40:20small ones, he needed a way to sell the
- 40:22idea of a big life-size experiments to
- 40:25the company so that they would keep
- 40:27funding his research into the future.
- 40:29Therefore, he came up with the idea of
- 40:32the bigger bodies initiative. An
- 40:35initiative where Harley would create
- 40:37these massive toys not to be played with
- 40:40or bought by children as products, but
- 40:43rather to work inside of the factory.
- 40:46This would solve a ton of issues for the
- 40:48company. Their revenue was down from the
- 40:51Playtime Co. scandals, and therefore
- 40:53things like lawsuits from them cutting
- 40:55corners became a big concern. However,
- 40:58if they replaced all of the employees
- 41:01with bigger bodies, they would save
- 41:03money because they wouldn't have to pay
- 41:05their salaries, and lawsuits from
- 41:07factory accidents were no longer a
- 41:10concern. It was a perfect idea that
- 41:13Leith and his quote-unquote money men
- 41:16loved. With Harley noting, "They will
- 41:18have their investments and see money
- 41:20saved, and I, Harley Sawyer, will be
- 41:23able to continue on with my work." Now,
- 41:26in order to better mass-produce and
- 41:29streamline the production of these toys,
- 41:31they both needed a place to work on
- 41:34them, as well as a place to test the
- 41:36children in Playcare to ensure they had
- 41:39the proper physical and mental abilities
- 41:41before being experimented on. So, they
- 41:43would end up renewing Elliot's old
- 41:45contract with Warren Bob Construction to
- 41:48build a future creations. And would
- 41:50start by having them develop a
- 41:52laboratory deep deep below the factory
- 41:55surface where it could never be found.
- 41:58They painted this to Warren Bob as if it
- 42:00was just an innovation and research lab
- 42:03with nothing fishy going on. Although,
- 42:05to ensure that nobody discovered this
- 42:07build, Eddie Ritterman, the head of
- 42:09research, offered the company at figures
- 42:12in hush money to ensure their silence.
- 42:14In this lab, they were given the ability
- 42:16not just to create more and more
- 42:18experiments as needed, but they also
- 42:21began to build little childlike rooms to
- 42:24place experiments in for observation.
- 42:26Along with developing what they called
- 42:29{quote} conditioning rooms, where they
- 42:32would hire the lead counselor of the
- 42:34area, Gracie Green, and have her play as
- 42:37a young child show host, Miss Gracie,
- 42:40where she'd attempt to brainwash the
- 42:42children into believing that they were
- 42:44and always have been toys, hoping to
- 42:47keep them calm when obviously waking up
- 42:49as these horrifying new bodies. In terms
- 42:52of mass producing of the poppy gel that
- 42:54was able to revive these things, down in
- 42:56the labs, they built an autonomous farm
- 42:58system that grew and harvested thousands
- 43:01of poppy flowers, allowing them to
- 43:03produce them in super high quantities
- 43:05and keep experimenting at all times.
- 43:07Furthermore, for testing the children,
- 43:10they also had them build the game
- 43:12station that on the surface appeared to
- 43:15just be a playground for the children to
- 43:17hang out at with three mini games
- 43:19inside: musical memory, a game of Simon,
- 43:23whack-a-woogie, a game of whack-a-mole,
- 43:25and statues, a game of red light, green
- 43:28light. However, in reality, they had set
- 43:31up observation rooms in all of these
- 43:33areas so that they could log and track
- 43:35the performance of the children, testing
- 43:38their memory, reflexes, and physical
- 43:40ability before considering them for
- 43:42experiments. To hopefully improve the
- 43:45scores further, after some more testing
- 43:48of Anthony's red smoke, it was revealed
- 43:51that despite its many negative side
- 43:53effects, it also produced some positive
- 43:55results in test subjects, like improved
- 43:58brain functions during sleep, increased
- 44:00memory retention, and better emotional
- 44:03processing of the day's events. So, in
- 44:06Playcare, they'd have Warren Bach
- 44:08install the gas production zone, which
- 44:11would mass-produce the smoke and pump it
- 44:13through some pipes in Home Sweet Home
- 44:15during the night to put the children to
- 44:18sleep, as well as make them better test
- 44:20subjects. This also had the bonus effect
- 44:23of preventing any more incidents like
- 44:25the Theodore Grambell one of children
- 44:27getting rowdy at night. Playtime Co.
- 44:29would also hire a ton of scientists to
- 44:32work on these experiments with the most
- 44:35notable ones being Impressive and
- 44:37Willard and Jessica Newman. Another
- 44:39employee they hired was the head of IT,
- 44:42Rowan Stoll, and finally they'd hire
- 44:44various warehouse workers like an angry
- 44:47man named Rich Lovett to handle storage.
- 44:50From here, more bigger bodies were
- 44:52created. For instance, there was
- 44:55Pianosaurus, Experiment 1163, who sadly
- 44:58was a pretty big failure as he was
- 45:01described as being extremely feral and
- 45:04was so mentally degraded from the
- 45:05experimentation that while he would
- 45:08attack and try to eat anything he saw,
- 45:11in his eyes he actually hallucinated the
- 45:13world as being bright and colorful and
- 45:15thought he was simply playing around.
- 45:17This basically made him useless. Then,
- 45:20in August of 1990, there was Experiment
- 45:231166, a bigger body of Yarnaby, who was
- 45:27created from a child, Quinn Navidson, a
- 45:30child who actually had a pretty bad
- 45:32performance in the game station at first
- 45:35before he was mentored by none other
- 45:37than Harley Sawyer, who had a sense that
- 45:40he wasn't trying his best. And so, when
- 45:43retesting, Quinn scored extremely poorly
- 45:46on musical memory, the mental test,
- 45:48while excelling in more physical tests
- 45:51like Whack-A-Wuggy and Statues, leading
- 45:53to them experimenting on him and
- 45:56creating Yarnaby, who was more
- 45:58successful than Pianosaurus, although
- 46:01not by that much. As while he was
- 46:04physically excellent just like his Game
- 46:06Station assessment suggested, he was
- 46:09also mentally underwhelming, not being
- 46:11able to do much independently, building
- 46:14extreme reliance on security staff to
- 46:16take care of him. If there was any good
- 46:19news from this experiment though, at
- 46:22least for Harley Sawyer, it was that he
- 46:25took advantage of Yarny B's easy
- 46:28attachment to others and would therefore
- 46:31isolate the being inside of a room that
- 46:33only Harley would ever visit, allowing
- 46:36him to essentially condition Yarny B
- 46:38independently to the point where he
- 46:40began to view Harley as almost god-like,
- 46:43something that he found pretty amusing.
- 46:45The first known actual improvement in
- 46:48the Bigger Bodies Initiative since Boxy
- 46:50Boo was actually a bigger body of Huggy
- 46:53Wuggy, Experiment 1170, who upon
- 46:57creation was seen as far more successful
- 47:00than any other experiment they had made,
- 47:03specifically because of his obedience
- 47:05paired with intelligence. This led to
- 47:08Playtime Co. designating him as the
- 47:11first known monster to take a real
- 47:13employee's role, being the Playtime Co.
- 47:17security guard, watching over the
- 47:19entrance to the factory so that no
- 47:21intruders would come sneaking in while
- 47:24also standing still as a statue so that
- 47:27he could be a tourist attraction for
- 47:29people that were visiting, leading to
- 47:31him being one of Playtime Co.'s biggest
- 47:34successes experiment-wise, at least that
- 47:36is at first. As with time, a trend they
- 47:39noticed with him is that when put under
- 47:42stress, he would throw these very large
- 47:45fits, especially during his conditioning
- 47:47when they tried to get him to complete
- 47:49various tasks, which stressed him out to
- 47:51the point that he attacked and tried
- 47:54killing the employees. So, to solve
- 47:57this, they would create a body of his
- 48:00female counterpart, Kissy Missy,
- 48:02experiment 1172 in late 1990, whose
- 48:06personality was very similar to Huggy,
- 48:09being quiet and obedient. She also liked
- 48:12to draw and write despite her hands
- 48:14making it hard to do so, which is pretty
- 48:16cute. But, essentially, they created her
- 48:19to be a friend for Huggy, given to him
- 48:22when he was feeling stressed out, which
- 48:24smoothed out most of his temperament
- 48:26issues nicely. Moving over into the game
- 48:29station, in order to automate the
- 48:31testing process, they would create three
- 48:33bigger bodies that would be the mascots
- 48:36of the three games. There was a Bunzo
- 48:38Bunny who was assigned to Musical
- 48:40Memory, the Mini Huggies who were
- 48:42assigned to Whack-A-Huggy, of course.
- 48:45Then, finally, there was PJ
- 48:46Pug-A-Pillar, experiment 1174, who would
- 48:50run Statues. All would play as the
- 48:52games' antagonist to add a bit more of a
- 48:55threat. Then, going over into Playcare,
- 48:58the employees there were also being
- 49:00slowly replaced with experiments. As
- 49:03first off, Playtime would release a doll
- 49:06of a teacher named Miss Delight, and
- 49:09would create eight identical bigger
- 49:11bodies of her to work as the schools'
- 49:13teachers. Wow, for the rest of Playcare,
- 49:16they had an even better plan. They
- 49:19decided to make use of the great idea
- 49:22that was the Smiling Critters by
- 49:25repurposing them as the mascots of
- 49:27Playcare, since down here none of the
- 49:29children were aware of any controversies
- 49:32that surrounded the line. And alongside
- 49:34that branding, they attempted to create
- 49:37bigger bodies of every single one of
- 49:39them to roam around the area. This
- 49:41wouldn't be particularly successful at
- 49:44first, since we saw with experiment
- 49:461186, Bobby Bearhug, that she couldn't
- 49:50speak like they had wanted her to and
- 49:53suffered from mobility issues. However,
- 49:55by experiment 1188, they decided they
- 49:58wanted to make a bigger body of none
- 50:01other than Catnap. Specifically with
- 50:04plans to attach a red gas apparatus to
- 50:07the monster itself, allowing it to emit
- 50:10the red sleeping smoke as it breathed.
- 50:12Planning to let the monster out in the
- 50:14playcare around night time so that way
- 50:17the children could be put to sleep by a
- 50:19character they knew and trusted. But
- 50:21before creating an experiment like this,
- 50:23they needed the perfect test subject.
- 50:26They looked around and listed a few
- 50:28different children as possible patients.
- 50:31However, one stood out above all of the
- 50:33others, Theodore Grambell. Theo, since
- 50:37being saved by the prototype, was on
- 50:40Playtime Co.'s radar not just because he
- 50:42had a lack of friends, making it much
- 50:45easier to remove him without anyone
- 50:46noticing, but also knowing he was easy
- 50:49to be manipulated and was a little bit
- 50:52of a troublemaker, they decided to
- 50:54eliminate all of that risk by turning
- 50:56him into the bigger body Catnap. Which,
- 50:59upon doing so, compared to Bobby
- 51:02Bearhug, was much more of a success
- 51:04physically as the experiment was able to
- 51:07walk and move unlike Bobby. And they
- 51:10even successfully got Catnap to speak by
- 51:13giving him a voice box. However, in
- 51:15experimentation, it did break and as a
- 51:18consequence, he had a deep scary voice.
- 51:20Although, that was far from his only
- 51:23problem because mentally, he had a whole
- 51:26new set of issues. For one, he almost
- 51:29immediately showed that he didn't like
- 51:31being experimented on one bit. As when
- 51:34trying to contain him for a little bit
- 51:36inside of the labs and study him before
- 51:39being implemented into playcare, he
- 51:41displayed extreme aggression and even
- 51:44found a way outside of his cell,
- 51:47attacking and killing six scientists
- 51:50working down there. This was all
- 51:52reported on by one otherwise meaningless
- 51:55scientist among all of the others,
- 51:57Preston Willard, who saw firsthand how
- 52:01aggressive Catnap and the experiments in
- 52:04general were becoming and begged the
- 52:06company to be safer with experimentation
- 52:09to ensure nothing like this could happen
- 52:11again. This moment wouldn't lead to
- 52:13anything catastrophic for now, but it
- 52:16quietly led to Preston being overwhelmed
- 52:19with guilt for what he was doing down
- 52:21here and how dangerous it was, which
- 52:24began to weigh on him over the coming
- 52:26years. Anyway though, Catnap would be
- 52:28calmed down after going through Miss
- 52:30Tracy's brainwashing tapes and his
- 52:32aggression was mostly ironed out
- 52:34following this, allowing him to be moved
- 52:37into Playcare mostly successfully. As
- 52:40well, the children at first found him to
- 52:42be a bit creepy, they warmed up to him
- 52:45over time and started to like him,
- 52:48allowing the scientists to both create
- 52:51the rest of the Smiling Critters and fix
- 52:53the previously failed ones to roam
- 52:55Playcare, also creating a little prison
- 52:58inside of the playhouse to store them
- 52:59safely at night. However, there still
- 53:02was one other issue with Catnap, being
- 53:05that whenever he was placed inside of a
- 53:08room with Experiment 1006, the
- 53:11prototype, he acted strange around him
- 53:14as he would follow the prototype around
- 53:17like a lost puppy despite 1006 not
- 53:21really seeming to show any emotion
- 53:23towards it. This worried Leith Pierre,
- 53:26who first pointed this stuff out since
- 53:28it displayed, like his child version,
- 53:30Catnap was highly impressionable,
- 53:33especially when it came to anything the
- 53:35prototype says or does, which could be a
- 53:38problem in the event he might have been
- 53:40told to do something violent. For now
- 53:42though, that was that. One other
- 53:45unrelated experiment they would
- 53:46eventually develop for Playcare was a
- 53:48bigger body of Chompe Chompekins, who
- 53:51they had created with the hope of using
- 53:54his mouth as a hiding pod for the
- 53:56children to relax inside of. This didn't
- 53:59work as the children were horrified when
- 54:01put inside, so he mostly was a failure,
- 54:04although not much is documented on the
- 54:06beast outside of that. Another
- 54:08interesting experiment around this point
- 54:10was experiment 1199,
- 54:12which was one of Playtime Co.'s many
- 54:14attempts at still trying to create a
- 54:16smaller toy-size experiments. However,
- 54:19this time to do this, they actually
- 54:21tried experimenting on an adult, Thomas
- 54:25Clark, because since starting with the
- 54:27factory, he ended up getting lung cancer
- 54:30and therefore actually volunteered to be
- 54:33experimented on, which sadly was as well
- 54:36a pretty unsuccessful as the brown toy
- 54:38could barely show any any signs of even
- 54:41being alive. And after trying to store
- 54:43him with some of the other experiments,
- 54:45they grew violent since they recognized
- 54:48that he was an employee and one of the
- 54:50ones responsible for turning them into
- 54:52experiments. So, they attacked him,
- 54:55forcing the employees to store him away
- 54:57all alone while also making it evident
- 55:00to them that over time the experiments
- 55:03were starting to get angry. Regardless
- 55:05though, they didn't really care, and
- 55:08another child Playtime Co. was
- 55:10interested in inside of Playcare was
- 55:12named Marie Payne, a girl that like some
- 55:16of the children outside of the factory
- 55:18responded especially badly to the red
- 55:21smoke, having intense nightmares at
- 55:23night where her skin went pale, her
- 55:26heart went crazy, and she was hot to the
- 55:28touch. This led to them wanting to
- 55:31experiment on her, but this time they
- 55:33had an interesting idea, being that they
- 55:36wanted to turn her into something
- 55:38completely new. A never-before-seen toy
- 55:42named Mommy Long Legs, a pink
- 55:45spider-like being. Testing out a new
- 55:47idea for what they called elastic
- 55:50plastic, a way to essentially make a toy
- 55:53a super, super stretchy. And as an
- 55:55experiment, this physically worked out
- 55:57super well as Mommy could actually talk
- 56:01by moving her lips and walk around like
- 56:04a full-blown spider. Even being able to
- 56:06use the new plastic technology to
- 56:08stretch out her hands super, super far.
- 56:11Now, like all of the other experiments,
- 56:13she did have some flaws of her own.
- 56:15Specifically around her relationship
- 56:18with the employees. Because with her
- 56:20once being a child in Playcare, she felt
- 56:23extreme rage towards the workers that
- 56:26made her this way. Kind of like the toys
- 56:28from the Bron experiments. However, she
- 56:31would actively go out of her way to
- 56:33attack them on site. At the same time
- 56:36though, ironically like a mother, Mommy
- 56:39loved and nurtured the children of
- 56:41Playcare when around them. Now, at first
- 56:44the employees tried to calm this temper
- 56:47of Mommy's by creating another
- 56:49experiment that was just a male version
- 56:51of her named Daddy Long Legs, like what
- 56:53they did with Huggy, but she ended up
- 56:55just killing him. So, that was
- 56:57unsuccessful. And instead, they decided
- 57:00the best way to make use out of this
- 57:02monster was to just move her over into
- 57:05station that was purely inhabited by the
- 57:07children and let her take care of them
- 57:10herself while the scientists simply
- 57:12observed from 20 yards away. Which led
- 57:15to her actually being quite successful
- 57:17as an experiment. So much of a success
- 57:20that when the company was trying to find
- 57:22a flagship toy to sell to the public
- 57:24using the elastic plastic technology, at
- 57:27first they had an idea for an orange
- 57:30stretchy robot toy of some kind, but it
- 57:33ended up just settling on selling an
- 57:35action figure of the Mommy Bigger Body,
- 57:38along with a Daddy and Baby Long Legs,
- 57:41which was a great idea and sold quite
- 57:43well. Now, at this point, the factory
- 57:45was bouncing back thanks to Harley
- 57:47Sawyer and the Bigger Bodies' success.
- 57:50Money was being saved and it felt like
- 57:52they might have finally made it past the
- 57:54public scandals from the end of the last
- 57:56decade. However, there quickly started
- 57:59to be a new problem they didn't
- 58:01consider, which was that only a small
- 58:04number of employees actually ever knew
- 58:07about the experimentation going on in
- 58:09the factory, and a growing fear was that
- 58:12an angry or unsuspecting employee could
- 58:15dig around the place when they weren't
- 58:16supposed to and find something they
- 58:19maybe shouldn't have. Now, their first
- 58:22encounters with dysfunctional employees
- 58:24mostly started small. For one, there was
- 58:27a somewhat unknown worker named Patty
- 58:30Hall, who in January of 1991
- 58:33intentionally sabotaged a paint machine
- 58:36seemingly just to mess with the company,
- 58:38leading to them sending her down to a
- 58:40place named Storage B to, quote, receive
- 58:43a further instructions, whatever that
- 58:44means. While one of the warehouse
- 58:47employees, Rich, was getting frustrated
- 58:50with the company's incompetence himself
- 58:52when having to sort through a bunch of
- 58:54the orphanage junk to find Huggy boxes,
- 58:57something they would catch him
- 58:58complaining about on a security camera
- 59:00before then demoting him to the rejected
- 59:02toys room to deal with all of the broken
- 59:05toys, which frustrated him even further
- 59:07and would lead to him hating the
- 59:09company. That would be until one day
- 59:12when he was working with the head of
- 59:14shipping, Stewart, where while going
- 59:16into Playcare, he opened up to Stewart
- 59:19about his anger towards the company and
- 59:22how upset he was with the state of
- 59:24specifically the Playtime orphanage,
- 59:26wishing the children inside would be
- 59:28able to go outside like for real and not
- 59:32in a dome. Stuart could see the good man
- 59:35in the otherwise temperamental Rich and
- 59:37decided to give him a chance. Stuart was
- 59:40near retirement, so he selected Rich to
- 59:44be his replacement as the head of
- 59:46shipping when finally retiring, giving
- 59:49Rich some hope that not everybody in
- 59:51this company was just bad people and
- 59:54finally making him happy. Now, with both
- 59:57of these dysfunctional employees
- 59:59seemingly dealt with positively, you
- 1:00:01would think the lower down employees
- 1:00:03would no longer be a problem. However,
- 1:00:05this was actually just the beginning as
- 1:00:08things would get a whole lot worse when
- 1:00:11on March 21st of 1991, Playtime Co.'s
- 1:00:14worst nightmare came true. In a report,
- 1:00:18the lower down employee, Marcus
- 1:00:19Brickley, claimed that he saw some kind
- 1:00:22of monster with a thousand legs,
- 1:00:25referencing the bigger body of PJ
- 1:00:27Pug-a-Pillar that he spotted out by the
- 1:00:30cafeteria. Somebody on the outside had
- 1:00:33seen a moving experiment. Now, Marcus
- 1:00:37was obviously extremely shaken up by the
- 1:00:39incident, although thankfully when
- 1:00:41bringing it up with Leith Pierre, he was
- 1:00:43kind of just told to F off and he
- 1:00:46listened. So, no harm, no foul there.
- 1:00:49However, just a week later on March
- 1:00:5230th, a much more resilient employee had
- 1:00:55something to say. Rowan Stoll. Rowan,
- 1:00:59who worked as the head of the IT
- 1:01:00department, feared some kind of security
- 1:01:03risk when watching the eyes of Huggy
- 1:01:05Wuggy that looked a bit off. His main
- 1:01:08concern was that somebody might have
- 1:01:10secretly installed some kind of camera
- 1:01:12system to spy on the company. So, he
- 1:01:15brought it up with Leith Pierre in a
- 1:01:17little VHS tape, thinking nothing too
- 1:01:20serious of it. However, after recording
- 1:01:22this, he kept investigating and
- 1:01:24discovered something horrifying. Huggy's
- 1:01:27eyes didn't look suspicious because they
- 1:01:29had cameras inside of them, but rather
- 1:01:32because the eyes were real organic eyes
- 1:01:35occupied by a real body inside of the
- 1:01:38statue. Once Rowan realized this, he
- 1:01:41knew he had to dig deeper, but also
- 1:01:43realized his horrible mistake with
- 1:01:45letting the company know he noticed the
- 1:01:48experiment. So, he quickly sent over a
- 1:01:50file of VHS tape pretending to retract
- 1:01:53his worries and move on with his life.
- 1:01:56However, this didn't work as Playtime
- 1:01:58Co. now saw him as a parasite inside of
- 1:02:01the company that needed to be removed
- 1:02:03before he discovered everything. Now,
- 1:02:06they couldn't just fire him or something
- 1:02:08like that because then he would speak
- 1:02:10out against the company and potentially
- 1:02:12expose them. Rather, they somehow would
- 1:02:15need to make him disappear. And they
- 1:02:17first tried this by taking away his
- 1:02:19pension to get under his skin before
- 1:02:22tampering with his car leading to one of
- 1:02:24his tires flying off the interstate
- 1:02:27hoping that he would die in a {quote}
- 1:02:29unquote accident that he miraculously
- 1:02:31would survive. Anyway, when this stuff
- 1:02:33didn't work, they had to think of
- 1:02:35something fast and quickly they turned
- 1:02:38to the first experiment they ever
- 1:02:40created, Boxy Boo. Boxy at this point
- 1:02:44didn't really have any specific use
- 1:02:46despite being one of the better success
- 1:02:48stories of the bigger bodies initiative
- 1:02:50and he was kind of just hanging out
- 1:02:52doing nothing. So, to address Rowan,
- 1:02:55Harley Sawyer thought to start tailoring
- 1:02:58Boxy's appetite specifically to human
- 1:03:01flesh and teach Boxy to crave it. While
- 1:03:05this conditioning was going on, Rowan
- 1:03:07was very aware at this point that
- 1:03:09Playtime was trying to kill him. So, he
- 1:03:12gathered as much information as he could
- 1:03:14about the experiments and the shady
- 1:03:16history of the company, uploading and
- 1:03:18releasing it all onto an FTP server
- 1:03:21during a security maintenance period.
- 1:03:23Writing and sending out a letter to his
- 1:03:26mother with an IP address, hoping to
- 1:03:28allow her to access all of the files
- 1:03:31remotely before they found them.
- 1:03:33However, after sending all of this out
- 1:03:35and making one final VHS tape explaining
- 1:03:38this entire story, Rowan found himself
- 1:03:41going down to a storage room where none
- 1:03:44other than Boxy Boo was waiting for him.
- 1:03:47He investigated the box, but before he
- 1:03:50could do anything, Boxy jumped out and
- 1:03:54ate him, finally killing him and getting
- 1:03:56Rowan out of the way. At the same time,
- 1:03:59Playtime sent a document posing as
- 1:04:02Rowan, announcing that they would be
- 1:04:04sweeping through their entire database
- 1:04:06to presumably find and delete all of the
- 1:04:08files he uploaded, eliminating that
- 1:04:11threat successfully. However,
- 1:04:12regardless, this fear of somebody
- 1:04:15finding out about what was going on down
- 1:04:17here started to become a bigger and
- 1:04:20bigger concern as Sawyer kept producing
- 1:04:22more and more of these toys. In fact, a
- 1:04:25year later in June of 1992, Huggy Wuggy,
- 1:04:29their golden child, broke free again
- 1:04:32despite fixing him like they thought.
- 1:04:34This time he actually escaped the
- 1:04:37factory and began to attack and eat
- 1:04:39everything in the nearby forest. This
- 1:04:42included animals and more tragically
- 1:04:44multiple workers that tried to subdue
- 1:04:47him. Fortunately, they were able to stop
- 1:04:49Huggy outside of a house by
- 1:04:51tranquilizing him, just barely
- 1:04:53preventing what would have been a
- 1:04:54company-ending disaster. But one thing
- 1:04:57was made clear by this incident. The
- 1:05:00more experiments the company created,
- 1:05:02the more they were risking their
- 1:05:03reputation, especially as the toys
- 1:05:06seemed to be getting more and more
- 1:05:08aggressive, something that would need to
- 1:05:11be addressed soon. And speaking of
- 1:05:13aggression, Harley began to notice these
- 1:05:16angry traits as well with none other
- 1:05:19than Oliver or the prototype, who while
- 1:05:22studying for the very first time would
- 1:05:25speak to him not using his real voice
- 1:05:28but rather mimicking the voices of all
- 1:05:31of the other employees around the
- 1:05:32factory where he asked Harley a simple
- 1:05:35question. I
- 1:05:37have a
- 1:05:39question.
- 1:05:41Go ahead.
- 1:05:42Do you
- 1:05:44feel anything?
- 1:05:46You stick us. Feed us. Pure flesh. DO
- 1:05:51YOU FEEL IT?
- 1:05:53HE asked if Harley could feel anything
- 1:05:57or if he had any kind of remorse for
- 1:05:59what he was doing to all of these
- 1:06:01innocent children he was using it for
- 1:06:03the sake of progress. Harley, obviously
- 1:06:05being the cynic he was, didn't really
- 1:06:08seem to care since after all it was
- 1:06:10progress at all costs, remember?
- 1:06:12However, this would only agitate the
- 1:06:14prototype further and he would begin to
- 1:06:17sabotage the employees in retaliation,
- 1:06:19attacking any worker that went near him
- 1:06:22including in one incident 1006, who had
- 1:06:26only become more and more intelligent
- 1:06:28over time, was able to turn the alarm
- 1:06:30clock in his observation room into a
- 1:06:33laser pointer and destroyed his camera
- 1:06:36literally just so that an employee would
- 1:06:38have to enter and fix it, which would
- 1:06:40give him an easy kill. This led to
- 1:06:43scientists wanting to destroy the beast
- 1:06:45especially with worries about how his
- 1:06:48intelligence and craftsmanship could
- 1:06:50affect them in the future, but his
- 1:06:52extreme intelligence rendered him
- 1:06:54valuable to Sawyer so he let him live
- 1:06:57although his anger and engineering
- 1:07:00skills aren't something to be forgotten,
- 1:07:02especially since he began to not just
- 1:07:05create things himself from other things,
- 1:07:08but he also began to add parts onto him,
- 1:07:11slowly making himself bigger and bigger
- 1:07:14over time. Although, I'll get back to
- 1:07:17this. From here towards the end of the
- 1:07:19year, things would honestly only get
- 1:07:21worse for the company because in
- 1:07:23Christmas of 1992, a child outside of
- 1:07:26the factory named Jack, who was a fan of
- 1:07:29Playtime Co., would get himself a Dewey
- 1:07:32the Doman action figure for Christmas
- 1:07:34along with an invitation to visit and
- 1:07:37tour the Playtime factory. The following
- 1:07:39year in 1993, Jack would end up going on
- 1:07:43his tour, but it was a complete
- 1:07:45disaster. As while in the section where
- 1:07:48the Dewey dough was produced, Jack got a
- 1:07:50bit too interested in the dough and
- 1:07:53accidentally fell over the observation
- 1:07:55railing he was watching from, causing
- 1:07:58him to fall into it and die. This had
- 1:08:01the potential to be the killing blow for
- 1:08:03Playtime because now there was a real
- 1:08:06child casualty outside of the factory
- 1:08:08with video footage of it as well. If the
- 1:08:11public found out about this, it could
- 1:08:13easily lead to an investigation, which
- 1:08:16would cause all their secrets to be
- 1:08:18discovered. So, quickly they needed to
- 1:08:20find some way to sweep this controversy
- 1:08:23under the rug, and that's when they had
- 1:08:26the perfect idea. What if they used the
- 1:08:29body of Jack to turn him into a bigger
- 1:08:32body of his favorite toy, Dewey the
- 1:08:35Doman, and save his life for the
- 1:08:37parents? Sound crazy? I know. But
- 1:08:40regardless, this is what they would end
- 1:08:42up doing. Granted, there was a little
- 1:08:44bit of a catch because in order to make
- 1:08:47this massive dough character into a
- 1:08:49bigger body, it would have to be 900
- 1:08:53total lb. So, to produce it, they would
- 1:08:56need to use three separate children and
- 1:09:00combine them to make the one body. They
- 1:09:02would begin the experiment named
- 1:09:05experiment 1322 with Jack, of course,
- 1:09:08who they label as 1322A.
- 1:09:11Then, they went into Playcare and
- 1:09:13studied various other children to become
- 1:09:15a part of this, settling on two others,
- 1:09:18Kevin Barnes 1322B
- 1:09:20and Matthew Hilliard 1322C. Kevin Barnes
- 1:09:24was a little bit of a worrying child
- 1:09:26because he struggled to get along with
- 1:09:28others and was both aggressive and
- 1:09:31confrontational, even being labeled a
- 1:09:34{quote} problem child. However, they
- 1:09:36chose him because he excelled in all of
- 1:09:39the Game Station's tests, and so he was
- 1:09:41valuable in the eyes of Dr. Sawyer.
- 1:09:43While to hopefully balance this out a
- 1:09:45bit, they also added Matthew Hilliard,
- 1:09:48who on the other hand was described as a
- 1:09:51dream child. He was known for being
- 1:09:54kind, considerate, and understanding.
- 1:09:57Not being nearly as intelligent as some
- 1:09:59of the other children, but he was also
- 1:10:01far more mature, being one of the oldest
- 1:10:04children in Playcare at 15. Anyway, now
- 1:10:07that they have their three test
- 1:10:08subjects, they would combine all of them
- 1:10:11before Jack's parents would file any
- 1:10:13kind of police report for whatever
- 1:10:14reason, and together they created Joey,
- 1:10:18who was mostly a success in terms of
- 1:10:21physically being able to move, walk, and
- 1:10:24talk, even being able to shapeshift
- 1:10:26because of his malleable dough body.
- 1:10:29However, there was a big issue with his
- 1:10:32brain, being that he would often
- 1:10:34randomly balance between acting like a
- 1:10:37young child with traits reminiscent of
- 1:10:39Jack, then he'd become aggressive like
- 1:10:42Kevin, and then he'd act more mature
- 1:10:44like Matthew. This chaoticness made his
- 1:10:47behavior a huge wildcard, but
- 1:10:50nonetheless, they had him created and
- 1:10:52would send out a letter to Jack's family
- 1:10:55inviting them over to the factory, and
- 1:10:57claiming they saved him. Upon the
- 1:11:00parents entering the room with, quote
- 1:11:02unquote, Jack, they realized he was
- 1:11:05turned into a living monstrous beast.
- 1:11:08The father was obviously horrified,
- 1:11:11while the mother tried to show
- 1:11:13compassion towards the monster, since
- 1:11:15after all, it technically was their son,
- 1:11:18right? Well, it didn't really matter,
- 1:11:21because obviously Playtime Co. didn't
- 1:11:23actually bring them here and show them
- 1:11:26one of their precious classified
- 1:11:27experiments for no reason. No, they
- 1:11:30wanted to silence the parents from
- 1:11:32speaking out against the accident they
- 1:11:34had witnessed. And now that they've seen
- 1:11:37a full-blown experiment, they couldn't
- 1:11:39escape alive. So, the scientists shut
- 1:11:43and locked the door behind the parents,
- 1:11:45and after interacting with Dewey for a
- 1:11:48little bit, he quickly flipped to his
- 1:11:50aggressive and angry personality,
- 1:11:53leading to him attacking and eventually
- 1:11:55killing both of his parents. Although,
- 1:11:58he did eventually snap out of it and saw
- 1:12:01what he did, causing him to burst into
- 1:12:03tears.
- 1:12:13Nonetheless, for Playtime, it was
- 1:12:15another close call. Although, it
- 1:12:17wouldn't take long for there to be
- 1:12:19another big problem in the factory. This
- 1:12:21time, surrounding Harley Sawyer. See,
- 1:12:24Harley was already growing controversial
- 1:12:26with the employees because his cynical
- 1:12:29attitude, which led to him being
- 1:12:31extremely rude and demanding, making
- 1:12:34strict remarks to workers that they were
- 1:12:36only, quote, one bad day away from
- 1:12:39catastrophe, even crashing out on
- 1:12:41employees for making a sandwich wrong.
- 1:12:43However, what he said in that letter was
- 1:12:46technically right. They were just one
- 1:12:48bad day away from everything falling
- 1:12:50apart. Because at this point, there were
- 1:12:53literally hundreds of experiments
- 1:12:55created in the factory, and Harley
- 1:12:57really didn't have a good place to put
- 1:12:59them. They had built that little prison
- 1:13:02inside of the playhouse to store the A
- 1:13:04smiling critters, along with the little
- 1:13:06observation pods in the labs, which all
- 1:13:08worked well. But as for the rest, they
- 1:13:11kind of just roamed around the factory,
- 1:13:13which was super risky because there
- 1:13:15would be incidents like the Marcus
- 1:13:16Brickley one, where PJ Pug-a-Pillar was
- 1:13:19just caught roaming around the factory
- 1:13:20during late hours. So, to solve this,
- 1:13:23Harley would look towards the Playtime
- 1:13:26Co. theater, where he came up with a
- 1:13:28good idea. The theater was used to play
- 1:13:31shows for tour guests with human beings
- 1:13:35playing as the toys. However, what if
- 1:13:38instead of using actors dressed up as
- 1:13:41monsters, they simply moved the unused
- 1:13:44experiments over into the backstage of
- 1:13:47the theater and use them to run the
- 1:13:49shows. Having people believe they were
- 1:13:52just super realistic, kind of like the
- 1:13:54Huggy statue, not knowing they were
- 1:13:56really living. This would both save them
- 1:13:59on having to hire actors since the
- 1:14:01bigger bodies were free, and this would
- 1:14:03give them a good place to hide them
- 1:14:06backstage. Since all they had to tell
- 1:14:08people was to not go backstage and spoil
- 1:14:12the magic. Nothing suspicious there. So,
- 1:14:15Harley would end up doing just this. And
- 1:14:17while it might have seemed like a good
- 1:14:19idea on paper, something he clearly
- 1:14:22didn't consider is what would happen if
- 1:14:25the experiments were to potentially
- 1:14:27throw any of their fits while
- 1:14:29performing. And well, soon he wouldn't
- 1:14:32have to wonder because at some point in
- 1:14:341993, during one of these theater
- 1:14:36performances, this very worry would
- 1:14:39happen as one or multiple of the
- 1:14:42experiments would go on a rampage,
- 1:14:44attacking and destroying the theater,
- 1:14:47catching it on fire in the process, and
- 1:14:50most devastatingly leaving 66 separate
- 1:14:53visitors to the factory dead, along with
- 1:14:56presumably many other guests witnessing
- 1:14:58the event and surviving. Following this
- 1:15:01incident, which they dubbed the theater
- 1:15:03incident, Jared Lockhart was assigned to
- 1:15:06investigate and find out what happened,
- 1:15:09while a group of resource extraction
- 1:15:11specialists were formed to go digging
- 1:15:13around and assess the damage. With 12 of
- 1:15:16them also dying in the aftermath.
- 1:15:19Anyway, after collecting evidence and
- 1:15:21digging through everything, one thing
- 1:15:23became immediately clear. That this was
- 1:15:26all the fault of Harley Sawyer and his
- 1:15:29negligence. And once the higher-ups got
- 1:15:32word from Jared that the blood was on
- 1:15:34Harley's hands, they realized that they
- 1:15:37could no longer let this man stick
- 1:15:39around. There were plenty of close calls
- 1:15:42before this, but now dozens upon dozens
- 1:15:46of people from the public were dead, and
- 1:15:49at best the factory's reputation was
- 1:15:51completely ruined. Now, I can only
- 1:15:54assume the factory wasn't completely
- 1:15:56shut down after this, because like I
- 1:15:58said, the bigger bodies were portrayed
- 1:16:00as being nothing more than actors. So,
- 1:16:03it could have been painted as a
- 1:16:04terrible, terrible accident. But still,
- 1:16:07outside of the devastating reputational
- 1:16:09damage this must have caused, it also
- 1:16:12gave Playtime Co. and its higher-ups two
- 1:16:15huge new problems they needed to solve
- 1:16:17right now. One, dealing with Harley
- 1:16:20Sawyer, and two, dealing with all of the
- 1:16:23experiments that caused this. They
- 1:16:25couldn't just put them back here,
- 1:16:28because then something like this would
- 1:16:29just happen again. So, what would they
- 1:16:32do? Well, first, regarding the rogue
- 1:16:34experiments, Playtime Co. decided to
- 1:16:36have Warren Bot Construction quickly
- 1:16:39build their very own dedicated prison. A
- 1:16:42place where they could put all of the
- 1:16:44misbehaving experiments while they were
- 1:16:46still being tested instead of just
- 1:16:48leaving them out. Now, Warren Bach for
- 1:16:51the first time, if you can believe it,
- 1:16:53was actually super against building this
- 1:16:56as they finally realized that none of
- 1:16:58these weird things Playtime Co. was
- 1:17:01making them build were actually for the
- 1:17:03fun of children and for factory
- 1:17:06research, but rather this prison was
- 1:17:08indicative that there was some shady
- 1:17:11stuff going on here and all of this
- 1:17:13stuff was meant for something crazy.
- 1:17:15Regardless, they didn't really have a
- 1:17:17choice to being contractually obligated
- 1:17:20to build the prison and so they obliged
- 1:17:23constructing it on July 12th of 1993
- 1:17:26along with the building a secondary labs
- 1:17:29right next to it where they can more
- 1:17:30easily test the prison subjects. Hiring
- 1:17:33out a warden to watch over the prison
- 1:17:35while also assigning the scientist Bruno
- 1:17:38White with running the secondary labs.
- 1:17:40As for Harley Sawyer, while they no
- 1:17:42longer wanted him around, they couldn't
- 1:17:45just kill him because after all, he knew
- 1:17:48how to create the experiments better
- 1:17:50than anyone alive. And while they had
- 1:17:52their issues with Harley and his
- 1:17:54initiative, they knew that they needed
- 1:17:56to keep crafting these experiments for
- 1:17:58Playtime Co. to keep turning a profit.
- 1:18:01So, going into 1994, they had come up
- 1:18:04with an idea to turn Harley into an
- 1:18:07experiment of his own under the name
- 1:18:09experiment 1354,
- 1:18:12the doctor. Planning to hook all of his
- 1:18:15vital body parts to Playtime Co.'s
- 1:18:17computer system right next to the
- 1:18:19secondary labs, allowing him to still
- 1:18:22live and talk. However, with no body, he
- 1:18:25wouldn't be able to disobey the factory.
- 1:18:27And from there, the relationship would
- 1:18:29be simple. The employees could go to
- 1:18:31Harley for advice on how to create the
- 1:18:33experiments and he'd have to answer or
- 1:18:36else they'd unplug him. They had planned
- 1:18:39to operate on Harley in April of 1994.
- 1:18:43However, before commencing the
- 1:18:44experiments, Harley had sent over one
- 1:18:47final letter to Leith Pierre with a
- 1:18:50breakthrough. Being that with there only
- 1:18:53being a limited number of orphans in
- 1:18:55Home Sweet Home to take from, running
- 1:18:57out of test subjects became a concern.
- 1:19:00However, Harley thought he had a
- 1:19:02solution for this problem as he was
- 1:19:04testing with neural mapping. Where
- 1:19:07basically, in short, he thought it might
- 1:19:09have been possible to map and recreate
- 1:19:11the mind of one single individual, and
- 1:19:14then use that individual's brain data
- 1:19:16for multiple different experiments,
- 1:19:18essentially solving their problem. He
- 1:19:21would even create this mapping machine
- 1:19:23inside of the labs to collect this data,
- 1:19:26and even revisit archived memories from
- 1:19:29other experiments. Now, while this
- 1:19:31technology had the potential to be
- 1:19:33revolutionary for Harley Sawyer, this
- 1:19:36gave scientist Bruno White an idea. To
- 1:19:39ensure nothing like a power outage or
- 1:19:41anything would accidentally kill Harley
- 1:19:44when he was turned into the computer
- 1:19:45system, they thought to revisit this
- 1:19:48neural mapping technology Harley was
- 1:19:50testing, and would actually use it
- 1:19:53against him, mapping his mind to create
- 1:19:56a digital backup while then finally
- 1:19:59experimenting on his real physical body
- 1:20:02to successfully turn him into his
- 1:20:04variant own experiments, hanging on to
- 1:20:07the backup just in case. Obviously,
- 1:20:09Harley Sawyer was not a fan of this and
- 1:20:12was extremely frustrated. From now on,
- 1:20:15you're here to give the lab boys answers
- 1:20:18when they need them, and carry out
- 1:20:20procedures when and how we tell you to.
- 1:20:23So, fight, or give in, or whatever,
- 1:20:27because either way, we own the
- 1:20:28infrastructure you're wired into. You'll
- 1:20:31pay for this,
- 1:20:34Leith. get my hands on you,
- 1:20:39you're dead man.
- 1:20:41But now the higher-ups had all that they
- 1:20:44wanted and Harley was reduced down to a
- 1:20:47computer with a graphic of an eye to
- 1:20:50represent himself. Alongside all of
- 1:20:52this, to ensure security in the factory
- 1:20:55further, the employees would develop the
- 1:20:58Omni Hand, a grab pack hand only given
- 1:21:01to Leaf Pierre, Stella Graeber, Eddie
- 1:21:03Ritterman, and the Warden, allowing them
- 1:21:07to open all of the company's most
- 1:21:09private areas, specifically down in the
- 1:21:11labs where their biggest secrets lie.
- 1:21:13Along with building a safe room that
- 1:21:15they called the Safe Haven that
- 1:21:18contained a separate, completely
- 1:21:20off-the-grid electrical system that
- 1:21:22could only be managed by the Omni Hand,
- 1:21:24meant to give them a little place to
- 1:21:26hide in case another bigger incident
- 1:21:29happened and they needed somewhere to go
- 1:21:31camp out. Now, with all this being said,
- 1:21:33there was a little bit of a sad
- 1:21:35consequence of removing Harley Sawyer
- 1:21:37from the factory, being that since the
- 1:21:40Yarnaby experiment I mentioned earlier
- 1:21:42had been manipulated to grow super
- 1:21:45attached to him. With Harley no longer
- 1:21:47in the picture, Yarnaby became severely
- 1:21:50depressed and essentially immobile
- 1:21:52without his pal. With the removal of his
- 1:21:55master, 1166 appears lost. Despite
- 1:21:59Sawyer's apathy, the subject formed an
- 1:22:01attachment of sorts. Without whatever
- 1:22:03sense of comfort or stability that
- 1:22:06brought him, his motivation has been
- 1:22:08sapped. [music] He sits, stares,
- 1:22:11listens, and only acts with aggression
- 1:22:13whenever I approach him. He truly just
- 1:22:16doesn't care anymore, said one of the
- 1:22:18scientists observing him. But moving on,
- 1:22:21around this time there would be all
- 1:22:22sorts of other toy lines and experiments
- 1:22:25created like the Wrong Side Out animals,
- 1:22:28a line of stuffed animals that were
- 1:22:30meant to be similar to the Smiling
- 1:22:32Critters. However, these toys' unique
- 1:22:34quirk was that they could be turned
- 1:22:36inside out to essentially create an
- 1:22:38entirely new plush. However, they
- 1:22:41weren't really liked by parents in focus
- 1:22:43groups as they thought turning toys
- 1:22:45inside out was morbid and satanic,
- 1:22:48leading to it never releasing. However,
- 1:22:50some other toys that were conceptualized
- 1:22:52and existed around the time would be
- 1:22:55ones like Gibblet, a heart-nosed fox,
- 1:22:58Lily Love Raines, a humanoid doll with
- 1:23:00long purple hair, Glooby, a toy pen that
- 1:23:03could write in invisible ink and then
- 1:23:05use the attached black light to
- 1:23:07illuminate the text, and Boogie Bot, who
- 1:23:10was just an interactable little robot
- 1:23:12dude. Some of which, like Gibblet, would
- 1:23:14be turned into bigger bodies, among many
- 1:23:16more. They were even able to eventually
- 1:23:19successfully produce smaller living toys
- 1:23:22like they originally wanted from the
- 1:23:24start. Although, there isn't much known
- 1:23:26about how they did this and what they
- 1:23:28did with these smaller experiments.
- 1:23:30Anyway, for a short period of time,
- 1:23:32things were at least a little bit
- 1:23:34peaceful. There weren't any notable
- 1:23:36crash outs or even really many notable
- 1:23:39experiments towards the later half of
- 1:23:411994, likely because down in the labs,
- 1:23:44at some point they would create a little
- 1:23:46facade they would call Sweet Street, a
- 1:23:49place that, when containing a toy
- 1:23:51inside, allowed them to more easily
- 1:23:54observe their behaviors in a natural
- 1:23:56environment and found that the area
- 1:23:58actually helped to maintain their
- 1:24:00temper. The only other real thing worth
- 1:24:02noting around this period was that,
- 1:24:05while expanding the factory more, the
- 1:24:07company attempted to pipe the red smoke
- 1:24:10from the gas production zone down deeper
- 1:24:12into the factory to places like the
- 1:24:15prison to make the experiments of that
- 1:24:17area fall asleep. However, something
- 1:24:20they didn't find out till after the fact
- 1:24:22was that the red smoke was actually
- 1:24:25extremely flammable and one accidental
- 1:24:28spark could set it all on fire. That's
- 1:24:30possibly why the theater ended up
- 1:24:32catching fire during the theater
- 1:24:34incident. So, down towards the prison,
- 1:24:37they began to store all sorts of liquid
- 1:24:39nitrogen canisters used to keep things
- 1:24:42cool and avoid sparking to prevent the
- 1:24:45factory from suddenly catching fire and
- 1:24:47blowing up. However, while this was all
- 1:24:49happening, something else was brewing.
- 1:24:52Specifically with none other than the
- 1:24:55prototype, who at this point had built
- 1:24:57his body up so much using leftover parts
- 1:25:01around the factory and adding them onto
- 1:25:03himself that he developed from just a
- 1:25:05small claw to a large intimidating
- 1:25:09jester. This definitely made him look a
- 1:25:12lot scarier. However, at the same time,
- 1:25:14he also seemed to have developed a soft
- 1:25:17side. Since eventually he and Poppy
- 1:25:20would end up acquiring a couple of
- 1:25:22Playtime phones that were connected to
- 1:25:25each other, allowing the prototype to
- 1:25:28talk to Poppy, the toy that he had
- 1:25:30wanted to meet all those years ago.
- 1:25:33Using the phone, despite the prototype
- 1:25:35building himself into this monstrous
- 1:25:37intimidating beast, to Poppy, he was
- 1:25:40finally able to lift the mask and just
- 1:25:43told her that his name was Oliver, or
- 1:25:46rather Ollie, as Elliot would call him,
- 1:25:49mimicking a child's voice to seem just
- 1:25:52like a friend. Poppy would cope with who
- 1:25:54she thought was just another child and
- 1:25:57not the prototype about the new state of
- 1:25:59the factory. She once saw it as this
- 1:26:02amazing place where everybody was and
- 1:26:05would be happy, but now it was in this
- 1:26:08diminished state. And furthermore, the
- 1:26:11years of employees continuing to take
- 1:26:13her apart to study her had driven her
- 1:26:16insane. At first it hurt, but by now she
- 1:26:20had lost the ability to even feel it.
- 1:26:23She once felt human, but now she felt
- 1:26:26nothing. Ollie would comfort her on the
- 1:26:29phone during these moments, and
- 1:26:31eventually she even began to grow
- 1:26:33attached to him, treating him like a
- 1:26:35friend during these dark times. However,
- 1:26:38this all only made the prototype angrier
- 1:26:41because now not only was he angry at the
- 1:26:44factory for taking his life away from
- 1:26:46him, but the one thing that he was
- 1:26:49sacrificed for in Poppy was being used
- 1:26:52and abused torturously. At this point,
- 1:26:55the prototype knew he needed to put an
- 1:26:57end to things and soon. So, when he
- 1:27:01could, he would interact with all of the
- 1:27:03other toys and try to get them on his
- 1:27:05side, using his extreme intelligence,
- 1:27:08especially with toys like Catnap, to
- 1:27:10convince them to try and stop things
- 1:27:13with force. Painting it as him saving
- 1:27:16them, as Catnap would describe it.
- 1:27:24This wouldn't work on all toys though,
- 1:27:27as eventually when word went around,
- 1:27:29Kissy Missy, who was originally seen as
- 1:27:32successful, started to have some severe
- 1:27:34problems. As after being transferred
- 1:27:37over to the prison to be investigated,
- 1:27:40they found that she was suffering from
- 1:27:42extreme anxiety and had {quote} an
- 1:27:45impending sense of doom. She would
- 1:27:47constantly rub her arms like something
- 1:27:49was bugging her, and the only way they
- 1:27:51could get her to calm down temporarily
- 1:27:53was to let her interact with the other
- 1:27:56toys. Eventually they somewhat solved
- 1:27:58this problem by sending her over to
- 1:28:00storage B, where she could work in a
- 1:28:02quieter, calmer setting, but that's all
- 1:28:04we really know. Regardless though, the
- 1:28:06prototype and his plan were going well.
- 1:28:09However, if you wanted to revolt against
- 1:28:11the employees, he knew that with him in
- 1:28:15all of the other toys being closely
- 1:28:17monitored and enclosed, it wouldn't just
- 1:28:20take convincing the monsters to help him
- 1:28:22end this, but he would also need help
- 1:28:25from an employee. And that's when he
- 1:28:27began to talk to Preston Willard.
- 1:28:30Preston, as I mentioned earlier, showed
- 1:28:32signs of guilt around experimentation
- 1:28:35while conditioning the Catnap toy unlike
- 1:28:38any of the other scientists for the most
- 1:28:40part. And this guilt would begin to
- 1:28:42weigh on him more and more over time. He
- 1:28:45even began to set up talks with one of
- 1:28:48the higher-up employees, Stella Grayber,
- 1:28:51who also had a heart for the children
- 1:28:53and wanted to save them to discuss some
- 1:28:56kind of solution. This all made Preston,
- 1:28:59specifically, the perfect target for the
- 1:29:01prototype. 1006 convinced Preston that
- 1:29:05he knew a way to stop the Bigger Bodies
- 1:29:07Initiative once and for all. And all
- 1:29:10Preston would have to do is just let him
- 1:29:13free. Preston, Stella, and the prototype
- 1:29:16would talk among each other for a while
- 1:29:18going into 1995, and eventually they had
- 1:29:22selected a date to finally end this
- 1:29:24initiative for good, August 8th of 1995
- 1:29:28at 11:00 a.m., calling it the hour of
- 1:29:33joy. Preston also would begin to write
- 1:29:35down as many notes as possible in his
- 1:29:38employee orientation notebook, logging
- 1:29:40out and setting the record straight
- 1:29:42about what actually happened in this
- 1:29:44factory in the event somebody found it
- 1:29:47in the future. So, the date was set. In
- 1:29:50the months leading up to this event, the
- 1:29:52employees could tell that something was
- 1:29:54off about the factory. Tensions felt
- 1:29:56higher, and they got a sense that this
- 1:29:59factory wouldn't last with the
- 1:30:01production of all of these experiments
- 1:30:02down here forever. And if Playtime Co.
- 1:30:05were to still exist for years to come,
- 1:30:08they would need to expand outside of
- 1:30:11this building. Both to help the company
- 1:30:13grow further, and also to get out of
- 1:30:16here in time before the worst could
- 1:30:18happen. This is when they would work on
- 1:30:20some brand new {quote} {unquote}
- 1:30:22projects outside of the factory. One
- 1:30:26named Project Broader Horizons, one in
- 1:30:28Japanese that translates to Project New
- 1:30:31Beginnings, and Project Garden World a
- 1:30:35Play Park. The first project there isn't
- 1:30:38much known about outside of that it was
- 1:30:40meant to take place in the US. While for
- 1:30:42the other two, Project Garden World a
- 1:30:45Play Park was supposed to be some kind
- 1:30:47of Playtime Co theme park similar to
- 1:30:51like Disney World. And the Japanese
- 1:30:53Project New Beginnings was apparently
- 1:30:56meant to be an entirely new factory that
- 1:30:59took place overseas. Which in particular
- 1:31:02was a good idea because it would allow
- 1:31:04the company to move to a country that
- 1:31:06was never familiar with any of Playtime
- 1:31:09Co's products and therefore
- 1:31:10controversies, giving them a fresh start
- 1:31:13and a way to continue experimentation
- 1:31:16outside of the limited confines of one
- 1:31:18location. The company needed to rush the
- 1:31:21stuff out the door fast before anything
- 1:31:23happened. So right away, they first
- 1:31:25began production of the Play Park, which
- 1:31:28fortunately it wouldn't take too long.
- 1:31:30While they also in July of 1995 prepared
- 1:31:34to send over everything that they would
- 1:31:36need to farm and produce poppy flowers
- 1:31:38and gel over to Japan to ensure they
- 1:31:41could continue experimentation overseas.
- 1:31:44While also being sure to remind
- 1:31:46everybody to not let Rich hear any word
- 1:31:49about this. And this is because moving
- 1:31:52into early August of 1995, the top level
- 1:31:55employees began to have an issue with
- 1:31:58none other than the new head of shipping
- 1:32:00I mentioned earlier in this video, Rich
- 1:32:03Leavitt. In the years since getting in
- 1:32:05this higher-up position, Rich's attitude
- 1:32:08heavily changed. He once was the grumpy,
- 1:32:11angry man who hated the factory, but
- 1:32:13since had grown into being much kinder
- 1:32:16and therefore loved by the other
- 1:32:19employees. They saw him as a ground-root
- 1:32:21story of somebody from the bottom
- 1:32:24finally rising to the top, and they
- 1:32:26would look to him as an inspiration.
- 1:32:29Furthermore, unlike the other higher-up
- 1:32:31employees who were super mysterious or
- 1:32:34arrogant, Rich was much more vocal,
- 1:32:37specifically when it came to the flaws
- 1:32:39of the company. He would talk and mentor
- 1:32:42younger workers in shipping and would
- 1:32:44blatantly call out the company for
- 1:32:46being, quote, far from angelic. He was a
- 1:32:50realist, and this made him likable by
- 1:32:52the lower-down employees, as I said, but
- 1:32:54this was something that the higher-ups
- 1:32:57would absolutely hate, as they now
- 1:32:59feared that a person of authority could
- 1:33:01lead the lower-down employees into
- 1:33:04suspicion around the company's morals,
- 1:33:06which could cause them to do worse at
- 1:33:08work. Or, even worse, the main fear was
- 1:33:11that they could potentially start
- 1:33:13sniffing around and would discover the
- 1:33:15experiments. They needed a way to
- 1:33:18silence Rich. At this point though,
- 1:33:21there wasn't much they could do. They
- 1:33:23couldn't make him disappear like Rowan
- 1:33:25or experiment on him like Harley,
- 1:33:27because at this point that would only
- 1:33:29turn him into a martyr and lead to all
- 1:33:32of the other employees getting even more
- 1:33:34suspicious of the factory. Fortunately
- 1:33:36though, in a phone call between Eddie
- 1:33:39and Leith, they had come up with a
- 1:33:41perfect idea to actually promote Rich
- 1:33:45even further from the head of shipping
- 1:33:47to one of the heads of the entire
- 1:33:49company up with them. Not because they
- 1:33:53actually liked or cared for Rich in any
- 1:33:55reasonable way, but rather they thought
- 1:33:58that if they treated him like an
- 1:34:00executive, then the lower down employees
- 1:34:02would think that he sold his soul and
- 1:34:04became one of the elites. It was a
- 1:34:07perfect plan and they were ready to give
- 1:34:09this an attempt. Although it would be up
- 1:34:11to Leith to do it alone since Eddie had
- 1:34:14to take a work trip from the 7th of
- 1:34:17August to the 12th to inspect the
- 1:34:19Playtime Park and see how it was going.
- 1:34:22Since at this point the park was about
- 1:34:24ready to open and they even began
- 1:34:26advertising it around the factory. So,
- 1:34:29Eddie would leave on August 7th, but the
- 1:34:32next day would mark August 8th, the hour
- 1:34:36of joy day. This day started mostly
- 1:34:40normal for the factory as if it were any
- 1:34:43regular day. The only notable thing
- 1:34:45going on here was that the scientist had
- 1:34:47planned to take Kissy Missy out of
- 1:34:49storage B and try transferring her over
- 1:34:52to Playcare to potentially interact with
- 1:34:54the children. However, while doing this,
- 1:34:57the clock would strike 11:00 a.m. And
- 1:35:01this was when Preston would finally free
- 1:35:04the prototype and all of the other
- 1:35:07experiments. Where to his shock, nearly
- 1:35:10every single one of them attacked any
- 1:35:13and all humans they could find. All of
- 1:35:16the employees, all of the visitors from
- 1:35:18the tours, even Thomas Clark was caught
- 1:35:21up with and killed. No human except for
- 1:35:23the Playcare orphans was spared. They
- 1:35:25even went out of their way up in the
- 1:35:27prison to take some of the security
- 1:35:30guards and lock them inside of their own
- 1:35:32prison cells just to be able to hear
- 1:35:34them suffer slowly while they died. This
- 1:35:37attack lasted for an entire hour and one
- 1:35:40of the most notable parts was when the
- 1:35:42warden of the prison was trying to make
- 1:35:44a run for an exit. He had actually ran
- 1:35:47past Harley Sawyer. Now, Harley who was
- 1:35:51connected to the entire Playtime Co.
- 1:35:53computer system, actually had offered
- 1:35:56the Warden a deal. He was in possession
- 1:35:59of the Omni Hand, which allowed the
- 1:36:01owner not just the ability to open any
- 1:36:04high-level door, like I mentioned, but
- 1:36:06also it had another feature, which was
- 1:36:09that it let the owner use the
- 1:36:11accompanying Omni chip to open doors
- 1:36:15remotely. So, quite simply, Harley
- 1:36:17offered to open up an exit for the
- 1:36:20Warden if he simply handed over the hand
- 1:36:23and chip. The Warden, in a panic,
- 1:36:26agreed. However, perhaps as expected,
- 1:36:28Harley didn't live up to the deal and
- 1:36:31didn't free the Warden, leading to him
- 1:36:33dying. But now, most importantly, this
- 1:36:36gave Harley the ability to control the
- 1:36:39entire factory. At least that is except
- 1:36:42for the Safe Haven, which wouldn't
- 1:36:45actually be inhabited by employees
- 1:36:47running from the hour, but rather it
- 1:36:50would be taken over by some of the toys.
- 1:36:53These include all sorts of smaller
- 1:36:55experiments not involved with the hour
- 1:36:57of joy, and even some larger ones like
- 1:37:00Joey the Doe Man. Now, they couldn't
- 1:37:02access the interior of the backup
- 1:37:04generator without the Omni Hand in case
- 1:37:07anything went wrong, but for now it was
- 1:37:10a safe place for them to hang out.
- 1:37:12Someone less lucky would be a second
- 1:37:15Kissy Missy experiment living in the
- 1:37:18prison named Riley, who was originally
- 1:37:21brought into Playcare less than a year
- 1:37:23ago in August of 1994 after losing her
- 1:37:27family in some kind of fire. When
- 1:37:29noticing in the orphanage that various
- 1:37:31members of Playcare were being, quote
- 1:37:34unquote, chosen under the assumption
- 1:37:36they were being adopted, she would be
- 1:37:38excited when one day she would be
- 1:37:41chosen. Although this excitement very
- 1:37:43quickly dissipated when, to her
- 1:37:45surprise, being chosen meant that she
- 1:37:49would be put under and experimented on,
- 1:37:52leading to them turning her into a Kissy
- 1:37:55Missy toy, living inside of one of the
- 1:37:58prison cells for examination. This
- 1:38:00mortified her, but fast forwarding to
- 1:38:02the present hour of joy, she finally was
- 1:38:05able to leave her cell and to her shock,
- 1:38:08she found that there were all sorts of
- 1:38:10dead bodies that looked just like her.
- 1:38:13Realizing over the next few hours that
- 1:38:16the factory had been completely
- 1:38:17destroyed and taken over, giving her no
- 1:38:20way out, she was left with no choice but
- 1:38:23to go out on her own terms. Stealing the
- 1:38:26key to the prison train station so
- 1:38:28nobody could ever return and hiding in
- 1:38:30her cell until she died of starvation.
- 1:38:33But now that the hour had happened and
- 1:38:35almost all of the employees were dead,
- 1:38:38the prototype had freed all the toys
- 1:38:40from their control. However, this was
- 1:38:43far from all that the prototype wanted
- 1:38:45because something he didn't exactly tell
- 1:38:48the toys initially was that he didn't
- 1:38:50kill all of the employees simply to let
- 1:38:53the toys free, but rather he wanted to
- 1:38:56take control of them himself. He would
- 1:38:59tell all of the toys that they wouldn't
- 1:39:01be allowed to leave the factory and
- 1:39:03would take all of the remaining orphans
- 1:39:05who were not targeted by the hour of joy
- 1:39:07and brought them down to the labs,
- 1:39:10containing them in what he called quote
- 1:39:12the better place, where he and the
- 1:39:15orphans would call home. Although I'll
- 1:39:17touch more on this place here in a
- 1:39:19moment. Back up above, as for all of the
- 1:39:21remaining bigger bodies, the prototype
- 1:39:24would gather everyone that he could find
- 1:39:26and force them to work under his rule or
- 1:39:29else. His first goal with gathering this
- 1:39:32group was to force them to go looking
- 1:39:34around for any surviving employees that
- 1:39:37might have been hiding out. The toys
- 1:39:39that are part of this group that we know
- 1:39:41include the experiment version of
- 1:39:43Giblet, Chum Chumpkins, Huggy Wuggy, one
- 1:39:47of the nightmare critter experiments,
- 1:39:48Baba Chops, Kissy Missy, and even all of
- 1:39:52the smiling critters bigger bodies. They
- 1:39:55would search around the labs finding as
- 1:39:57many bodies as they could before killing
- 1:40:00them. And while some of them believed
- 1:40:02that this was for the greater good and
- 1:40:04they were finally getting revenge on the
- 1:40:06employees that tortured them for so many
- 1:40:09years, there were some that a lot less
- 1:40:12and were clearly being forced to do this
- 1:40:14under threat of the prototype harming
- 1:40:16them. Giblet for instance couldn't bring
- 1:40:18himself to kill anybody. So he kind of
- 1:40:21just tied them up and that's all. Other
- 1:40:23toys like Kissy Missy and Hoppy
- 1:40:25Hopscotch would obey the prototypes
- 1:40:28orders temporarily, but would attempt
- 1:40:31and successfully escape his wrath
- 1:40:33finding refuge in the safe haven.
- 1:40:35However, nonetheless the cult kept
- 1:40:37searching for survivors and eventually
- 1:40:40they were attempting to find two
- 1:40:42scientists that were still missing. Dr.
- 1:40:45Preston Willard, the one that started
- 1:40:47the hour of joy, and Dr. Jessica Newman,
- 1:40:50one of his co-workers. They also would
- 1:40:53supposedly at one point or another link
- 1:40:56up with Marcus Brickley, although what
- 1:40:58happened to him isn't really ever
- 1:41:00mentioned. They had both been hiding out
- 1:41:02in the labs without ever being spotted
- 1:41:05outside of actually running into the
- 1:41:07Poppy Playtime doll who was roaming
- 1:41:09about a days after the incident on
- 1:41:12August 12th and unlike the others
- 1:41:14appeared far more traumatized and spared
- 1:41:17the scientists promising to not report
- 1:41:20them to anybody. However, she also said
- 1:41:22that there would be quote consequences
- 1:41:25if the prototype found out about what
- 1:41:27happened. So she simply just pretended
- 1:41:29she never saw them. Otherwise Poppy kept
- 1:41:32searching for refuge herself and as for
- 1:41:34the two scientists, they found a newer,
- 1:41:37more secure hiding spot. Where Jessica
- 1:41:40was originally optimistic that somebody
- 1:41:43would eventually be sent over soon to
- 1:41:45let them out. But over time, that hope
- 1:41:48started to wane more and more. And as
- 1:41:51for Preston, he quickly started to feel
- 1:41:54super guilty about what he did. As the
- 1:41:57days passed on, this guilt consumed him
- 1:42:00and he chose to come clean to Jessica
- 1:42:03that he was the one that that let the
- 1:42:05experiments out the whole time. Upon
- 1:42:08revealing this information, this sparked
- 1:42:10an explosive argument between the two
- 1:42:13and quickly, as they raised their voice,
- 1:42:16none other than Huggy Wuggy heard and
- 1:42:19found them. Breaking down their hiding
- 1:42:22spot and forcing them to run.
- 1:42:24Fortunately, both of them escaped at
- 1:42:27least from Huggy. However,
- 1:42:28unfortunately, Preston, while running,
- 1:42:31would end up bumping into Chompe
- 1:42:33Chompekins, who would take his body and
- 1:42:36bring him over to the prototype. As for
- 1:42:39Jessica though, after cooling off a
- 1:42:41little bit, she searched around the labs
- 1:42:43trying to meet back up with Preston
- 1:42:46since after all, it was her only friend
- 1:42:48down here. Eventually, she ended up
- 1:42:50finding an apology letter from him
- 1:42:52saying sorry for everything he did and
- 1:42:55had to do, along with his name tag,
- 1:42:57which he would place back on his desk.
- 1:42:59Regardless, she kept searching for
- 1:43:02Preston while seemingly being stalked by
- 1:43:05Catnap. [music] And eventually, when
- 1:43:07going down a flight of stairs, she was
- 1:43:09jumped by none other than the prototype,
- 1:43:13who had now attracted down and
- 1:43:15eventually stopped her. Taunting her a
- 1:43:18little bit before doing what he did to
- 1:43:20all of the other offending employees by
- 1:43:23killing her. As for Preston though, the
- 1:43:26prototype liked him enough at least to
- 1:43:28not kill him since after all, he was the
- 1:43:31one that let him out. So, instead, the
- 1:43:34prototype attempted to let him live in a
- 1:43:36mortal life and experimented on his
- 1:43:39body. And using all sorts of toy parts
- 1:43:42he found around the factory, he turned
- 1:43:44the Preston into this horrific primitive
- 1:43:47experiment reminiscent of the
- 1:43:49incognizant Thomas core toy from all
- 1:43:51those years back that was alive.
- 1:43:54Although clearly 1006 wasn't much of a
- 1:43:57pro at making experiments, at least yet.
- 1:44:00This isn't all for the remaining
- 1:44:01employees hiding around that the
- 1:44:03prototype wanted to find though, as he
- 1:44:05still hadn't been able to locate maybe
- 1:44:08his least favorite employee of them all,
- 1:44:10Gracie Green, the one that ran the Miss
- 1:44:14Gracie conditioning tapes. If there was
- 1:44:16anyone who did the most harm to the
- 1:44:18children in the factory, it had to be
- 1:44:21her, as she was literally in charge of
- 1:44:23brainwashing their delicate minds. After
- 1:44:26searching around for her for a little
- 1:44:28bit, eventually a bunch of the critters
- 1:44:30had found her hiding behind a barricaded
- 1:44:33door. She, unlike the others, was
- 1:44:35actually in contact with the outside
- 1:44:37world trying to get help from somebody
- 1:44:40named Todd. However, before long, the
- 1:44:43door was broken down and she was
- 1:44:46captured. Now, like Preston Willard, the
- 1:44:48prototype actually didn't want to kill
- 1:44:51her. However, unlike Preston, it was
- 1:44:53because he hated her so much that he
- 1:44:56wanted to torture her mind in the same
- 1:44:59way that she did to the children. So, he
- 1:45:01looked around and eventually found some
- 1:45:03experiment plans for a never created
- 1:45:06experiment that was meant to be a bigger
- 1:45:09body of Lily Love Brains. And following
- 1:45:12these guidelines, he turned Gracie into
- 1:45:16this very experiment. However, not only
- 1:45:19did he experiment on her, but he also
- 1:45:21had locked her away inside of one of her
- 1:45:24own conditioning rooms playing the Miss
- 1:45:27Gracie tapes on loop forcing her to be
- 1:45:30brainwashed by her own video. He
- 1:45:33provided her with food and drink so that
- 1:45:35way she wouldn't die purely because he
- 1:45:38wanted to see her go completely mad and
- 1:45:41that she did. Over the next 400 days she
- 1:45:46would begin to lose her identity as a
- 1:45:48human Gracie and would completely morph
- 1:45:52herself into having the bubbly and
- 1:45:54friendly personality of Lily Love Brains
- 1:45:57completely forgetting her past identity.
- 1:45:59After this for spatial reasons that
- 1:46:01aren't really ever clarified the
- 1:46:03prototype moved her out of the
- 1:46:05conditioning room but he definitely
- 1:46:07wasn't done with her. As he threw her
- 1:46:09inside of Sweet Street specifically
- 1:46:12inside of the house leaving her all
- 1:46:15alone where quickly she went completely
- 1:46:17mad. Since not remembering her old
- 1:46:20identity she became confused and
- 1:46:23frustrated with why nobody especially
- 1:46:25the prototype wanted to visit her. It
- 1:46:28led to her making her own fake friends
- 1:46:31and constantly living in fear that she
- 1:46:33was a quote-unquote bad toy and that's
- 1:46:37why she wasn't liked. But that's jumping
- 1:46:39ahead. One other employee who the
- 1:46:42prototype and his group actually
- 1:46:44couldn't find was none other than the
- 1:46:47head of shipping Rich Lavette who after
- 1:46:50his promotion had taken some time off
- 1:46:53away from work and therefore like Eddie
- 1:46:55Ritterman he missed the hour of joy. And
- 1:46:59upon hearing about the disappearance of
- 1:47:01all of his co-workers he was completely
- 1:47:04devastated as well as super curious as
- 1:47:08to what might have happened to them
- 1:47:10especially since he was already very
- 1:47:11suspicious of Playtime Co. Nonetheless
- 1:47:14though for now he would attempt to stay
- 1:47:17away from the place and keep it out of
- 1:47:18his thoughts. Going back to the
- 1:47:20prototype's cult, eventually 1006 went
- 1:47:24completely mad for power. As his
- 1:47:26greatest follower, Catnap began to truly
- 1:47:29treat him and his cult like it was a
- 1:47:32full-blown religion, building a shrine
- 1:47:34for him with candles and scratching
- 1:47:37words in the wall, everything. While at
- 1:47:40the same time, one of the critters who
- 1:47:42tried to go against the cult was the
- 1:47:44bigger body of Dog Day. He originally
- 1:47:47pretended to be on the prototype side.
- 1:47:50However, unlike the others, he ended up
- 1:47:52being caught as being a traitor and was
- 1:47:55therefore tortured for his disobedience
- 1:47:58by being strung up inside of the
- 1:48:00playhouse prison and was forced to sit
- 1:48:03there while hundreds of many critters
- 1:48:05crawled up and ate him alive.
- 1:48:07Presumably, along with any of the other
- 1:48:09critters that tried the same thing.
- 1:48:12Although, one experiment that was
- 1:48:14actually spared from the cult and its
- 1:48:15harsh ways was one of the Miss Delight
- 1:48:18dolls. Who, after the Hour of Joy, was
- 1:48:21mysteriously locked inside of the school
- 1:48:24with all of her sisters. And while at
- 1:48:26first she attempted to defend them by
- 1:48:28crafting a weapon out of rulers and
- 1:48:30pencils that she called a barb in the
- 1:48:32event that whoever locked them inside
- 1:48:34chose to show themselves. As time passed
- 1:48:37and they all began to get hungrier and
- 1:48:39hungrier, it didn't take long for them
- 1:48:42to single her out as their next
- 1:48:44potential meal. The only reason they
- 1:48:46didn't eat her was because due to lack
- 1:48:49of energy, she just played dead on the
- 1:48:51floor like she had already starved to
- 1:48:54death, so they left her alone. Although,
- 1:48:56at this point, all of this had driven
- 1:48:58her so insane that her face began to
- 1:49:01disintegrate down to flesh and she even
- 1:49:04began talking to her own weapon, Barb,
- 1:49:08who convinced her that if she wanted to
- 1:49:10live, she would have to kill her own
- 1:49:13sisters for food, which tragically she
- 1:49:17did, leading to her surviving but at the
- 1:49:20cost of all of her companions.
- 1:49:22Nonetheless, eventually the door finally
- 1:49:24opened and upon investigating, it turns
- 1:49:27out it was actually a catnap that closed
- 1:49:30in on her. Where despite her quite valid
- 1:49:33frustration with him, he offered her a
- 1:49:35deal. Protect [music] the school from
- 1:49:38any wandering employees and they'd let
- 1:49:41her live. This is also presumably what
- 1:49:43they did with other toys like Mommy Long
- 1:49:45Legs in higher parts of the factory who
- 1:49:48watched for any intruders in exchange
- 1:49:50for getting to survive outside of the
- 1:49:51cold. So now at this point, the
- 1:49:53prototype seemed like he had everything
- 1:49:56that he could have ever wanted. However,
- 1:49:58he was still missing one thing, Poppy.
- 1:50:03After successfully taking over the
- 1:50:04factory and most of its toys, he still
- 1:50:07heavily desired to reunite with Poppy,
- 1:50:10hoping to finally meet her after all of
- 1:50:13these years. So he searched for her for
- 1:50:16a while and even was able to track her
- 1:50:18using the phone. Since of course at this
- 1:50:21point she thought the prototype and
- 1:50:23Ollie were two different people. So
- 1:50:25while trying to avoid the prototype, she
- 1:50:27would talk to Ollie and reveal her
- 1:50:30location. Eventually he figured out that
- 1:50:32Poppy had actually made her way up with
- 1:50:34a lot of the other toys inside of Safe
- 1:50:37Haven. They would all hang out together
- 1:50:39for a while in here and try to make some
- 1:50:42kind of new life among the rubble.
- 1:50:44However, with the prototype's prized
- 1:50:47possession, the Poppy doll being inside
- 1:50:49of here, he and his cult would begin to
- 1:50:53attack the Safe Haven and its toys,
- 1:50:55trying to find their way inside to
- 1:50:57capture Poppy. The Safe Haven toys would
- 1:51:00fight back and eventually this build-up
- 1:51:03would lead to the start of the 1997
- 1:51:07toy war where both sides, the
- 1:51:10prototype's new rule and Poppy's
- 1:51:12rebellion would violently fight against
- 1:51:15each other for control. Now, honestly,
- 1:51:17very little is known about the specifics
- 1:51:20of this war or what exactly happened
- 1:51:22during it, but what we do know is that
- 1:51:25it quickly started to weigh heavily on
- 1:51:27one member of Safe Haven, Poppy. [music]
- 1:51:30Poppy was quick to panic under stress.
- 1:51:33So, after listening to the constant
- 1:51:36battling happening around Safe Haven,
- 1:51:38she was so freaked out that she decided
- 1:51:40she needed an escape. [music] And one
- 1:51:43day would end up leaving the Safe Haven
- 1:51:45to go inside of the one place where she
- 1:51:48felt safe, her old room by Elliot's
- 1:51:51office. She would stay here for a little
- 1:51:54bit, but again using the phone, it
- 1:51:56wouldn't take long for the Prototype to
- 1:51:59find her inside. Now, you'd expect 1006
- 1:52:03to want to kill her for being a part of
- 1:52:06this rebellion. However, he actually
- 1:52:08chose to speak with her.
- 1:52:12Here you are,
- 1:52:14hiding in your room.
- 1:52:16Running away. Stop them. Rebellion you
- 1:52:20>> [music]
- 1:52:20>> started. She begged him to stop all of
- 1:52:23this and to let the orphans go, pleading
- 1:52:25with him that killing her wouldn't stop
- 1:52:28the war and that nobody needed to die
- 1:52:30for either of them. But the Prototype
- 1:52:33didn't want to kill her. In fact, he saw
- 1:52:36her as extremely valuable. They were the
- 1:52:39original two experiments created by
- 1:52:42Elliot and were absolutely perfect and
- 1:52:45therefore immortal experiments that
- 1:52:48wouldn't age away like the rest of the
- 1:52:49factory over time and lack of resources.
- 1:52:53So, he didn't want her dead, but rather
- 1:52:56wanted her to join him in his better
- 1:52:59place. He revealed to her that he
- 1:53:01couldn't let the orphans go because
- 1:53:03without them they'd be left all alone in
- 1:53:06this factory for a miserable infinite
- 1:53:08experience. But clearly, according to
- 1:53:11the prototype, Poppy didn't understand
- 1:53:13how painful loneliness was. So, to show
- 1:53:17her an example, the prototype would take
- 1:53:20her and would lock her inside of a case
- 1:53:23up in her room where nobody would see
- 1:53:25her, visit her, or interact with her.
- 1:53:29There's only
- 1:53:30one way to make you see this.
- 1:53:33NO!
- 1:53:34NO!
- 1:53:35PROTOTYPE, PLEASE!
- 1:53:39PLEASE, PROTOTYPE!
- 1:53:43PAINTING AN ENTIRE red poppy flower
- 1:53:46mural with all sorts of messages telling
- 1:53:48anybody that could have encountered it
- 1:53:50to turn around, hoping to show her how
- 1:53:53dark loneliness can truly be. Now, at
- 1:53:56this point, it seemed like the prototype
- 1:53:58truly had everything he ever could have
- 1:54:00wanted. He had ruled at least most of
- 1:54:02the factory and was borderline its god,
- 1:54:05and both Poppy and the orphans were
- 1:54:07secured for his immortal future.
- 1:54:09Although during this, something that the
- 1:54:11prototype was well aware of was that
- 1:54:14while him and Poppy could ideally live
- 1:54:17forever together, the orphans he wanted
- 1:54:20to keep them company could not. They
- 1:54:22were human beings, and therefore if he
- 1:54:25wanted to keep them around here with
- 1:54:26them, he would have to figure out how to
- 1:54:29create perfect immortality himself like
- 1:54:32what Elliot once did and experiment on
- 1:54:35the orphans. However, evidently, he was
- 1:54:38no professional when it came to
- 1:54:39experimentation at this point, having to
- 1:54:42follow the guides of the scientist to
- 1:54:44produce a Lily Love Braid and having a
- 1:54:46lot less success when trying on his own
- 1:54:49with Preston. But up at the prison, he
- 1:54:51knew Harley Sawyer was still living
- 1:54:54among the Playtime computer system, the
- 1:54:56man with more knowledge about the
- 1:54:58experiments than anyone alive. So, he
- 1:55:01would go up there and use Harley in the
- 1:55:04same way he was used back when the
- 1:55:06factory was open. The prototype
- 1:55:08consulted Harley for advice on how to
- 1:55:10make the experiments under threat of
- 1:55:13destroying him. Harley would comply and
- 1:55:16slowly the prototype would begin
- 1:55:18experimenting himself, attempting to
- 1:55:21create immortality of his own using the
- 1:55:24remaining orphans as test subjects. He,
- 1:55:27like the scientist, would document these
- 1:55:30experiments under his own number system.
- 1:55:33And by experiment number four, he wasn't
- 1:55:36very successful. As he originally tried
- 1:55:39reviving them using the poppy gel
- 1:55:41independently without the negation
- 1:55:43formula to stop it, which led to the
- 1:55:46experiment overgrowing, causing the
- 1:55:48stitching to unravel and the entire
- 1:55:51being's body spilling onto the table as
- 1:55:53it breathed. By experiment number eight,
- 1:55:56he attempted to fully submerge the
- 1:55:58experiments in the poppy gel, making the
- 1:56:00body easier to mold. By experiment 15,
- 1:56:03he was finally able to create a fully
- 1:56:06moving and living experiment. However,
- 1:56:09upon applying the negation formula to
- 1:56:12stop the poppy gel's growth, he
- 1:56:14accidentally over applied it and
- 1:56:16therefore dissolved all of the muscle,
- 1:56:18bone, and growth medium. By experiment
- 1:56:2128, he had seemingly found a good
- 1:56:24balance between the gel and the negation
- 1:56:26formula, creating a fully conscious
- 1:56:29being that could talk. He identified
- 1:56:31himself as her giver and identified her
- 1:56:35as a girl named Gabby. Although sadly
- 1:56:38after that, she would die. By experiment
- 1:56:4134, he finally produced a fully
- 1:56:43independent, living, breathing, walking,
- 1:56:46and talking experiment. Despite this, he
- 1:56:49still considered himself far from the
- 1:56:51goal of infinite life and it's presumed
- 1:56:53after this, he would continue
- 1:56:55experimenting and perfecting these
- 1:56:57things to try and make them more like
- 1:57:00himself. Plus, while it's not very well
- 1:57:03documented, at some point around this
- 1:57:05time, the prototype would also begin
- 1:57:07experimenting on already living toys,
- 1:57:10specifically problematic toys that he
- 1:57:13wanted to punish by taking their bodies
- 1:57:16and then turning them inside out to
- 1:57:19hopefully teach them a lesson about
- 1:57:21going against the prototype's rule,
- 1:57:23turning them into these morbid,
- 1:57:25disturbing denizens. One of the victims
- 1:57:28of which even being the bigger body of
- 1:57:31Giblet, possibly because behind the
- 1:57:33scenes, Giblet would secretly join the
- 1:57:36fight against the prototype alongside
- 1:57:38the bigger body Chum Chompkins and would
- 1:57:41befriend the people of Safe Haven like
- 1:57:43Dewey to presumably help them. These
- 1:57:45denizens that he called Outamols,
- 1:57:48inspired by the wrong side animals,
- 1:57:50would live down below the factory in
- 1:57:53anarchy. And interestingly, they would
- 1:57:55sustain themselves by feeding large
- 1:57:58amounts of food to this bigger body Bron
- 1:58:01that would half digest the food into
- 1:58:03slop that they could eat from a hole in
- 1:58:06his stomach. So, pretty weird.
- 1:58:11Life was horrifying in the factory going
- 1:58:13into the 2000s. The Safe Haven
- 1:58:16inhabitants were terrified about Poppy's
- 1:58:18disappearance and would draw on the
- 1:58:20walls begging for her to come back along
- 1:58:23with painting murals documenting the war
- 1:58:25that went on around them. Eventually, to
- 1:58:27try and help out during these trying
- 1:58:29times, they would start running
- 1:58:31expeditions outside of Safe Haven where
- 1:58:34they would attempt to bring supplies up
- 1:58:36to Playcare to help sustain some of
- 1:58:38their allies like Dogday. However, these
- 1:58:41were pretty risky and in one expedition
- 1:58:44from February 9th of 2001, a bunch of
- 1:58:47toys including Hoppy Hopscotch got
- 1:58:50jumped by the outside creatures. And
- 1:58:53eventually, in one of these expeditions,
- 1:58:55Hoppy suffered an injury bad enough that
- 1:58:57it caused her to tragically pass away.
- 1:59:00As for the Safe Haven's leader, Joey,
- 1:59:02while he was by far the most powerful
- 1:59:05and had no problems physically,
- 1:59:07mentally, he struggled quite a bit as
- 1:59:10he'd randomly, mysteriously leave Safe
- 1:59:13Haven and travel all the way to the top
- 1:59:16of the factory just to look at the exits
- 1:59:19and imagine all the possibilities. He
- 1:59:21knew he could make it out alive if he
- 1:59:23truly wanted to, but he also knew he'd
- 1:59:25be abandoning the friends at Safe Haven
- 1:59:28that saw him as a leader. Fortunately
- 1:59:30for them though, Joey would always come
- 1:59:32back down and stick with them through
- 1:59:34thick and thin. Over on the side of the
- 1:59:36prototype, while working with Harley
- 1:59:38Sawyer, he would end up accidentally
- 1:59:41uncovering the backup to the doctor's
- 1:59:43mind that was archived by Playtime Co.
- 1:59:46Now, as cool as this was, the prototype
- 1:59:49actually found this as being a pretty
- 1:59:51dangerous because with it containing the
- 1:59:53intelligent mind of Harley Sawyer, that
- 1:59:56means that if somebody found it, they
- 1:59:58could have used it to figure out how to
- 2:00:00create these experiments themselves and
- 2:00:02more specifically how to create things
- 2:00:04like the negation compound that, as we
- 2:00:07saw in his past experiments, would
- 2:00:09degrade all biological matter it touched
- 2:00:12including that of already living beings,
- 2:00:15which would give him a huge weakness if
- 2:00:17somebody were to discover it. At the
- 2:00:19same time though, he didn't want to
- 2:00:21destroy the backup because it was far
- 2:00:23too valuable of information to just get
- 2:00:25rid of. So, he would store it all the
- 2:00:27way down in the Playtime Co. data center
- 2:00:29by the labs where hopefully nobody that
- 2:00:32wanted to harm him would find it. Moving
- 2:00:35forward a bit, by 2003, the only real
- 2:00:38notable thing to have happened was
- 2:00:40rumors started to circulate that after
- 2:00:43the Hour of Joy, 23 different toys
- 2:00:46called the Joyless led by a toy named
- 2:00:49Gentle John, had apparently found their
- 2:00:52way up and out of the factory, escaping
- 2:00:56the Prototype's cult. He obviously
- 2:00:58didn't like this and didn't want any
- 2:01:00other toys to get the same idea. So, he
- 2:01:03would go around the factory
- 2:01:05interrogating any toys that knew about
- 2:01:07this incident and to silence them, he
- 2:01:10would kill them. While at the same time,
- 2:01:12the members of the Prototype's cult
- 2:01:15would create a newsletter called A
- 2:01:18Better Press, where the Prototype would
- 2:01:20have them release all sorts of
- 2:01:22propaganda. For instance, he had them
- 2:01:24make up a story that the rumored
- 2:01:26escapees were found dead in a fire in
- 2:01:29the Innovation Wing, while also saying
- 2:01:32that his enemies in Safe Haven were
- 2:01:34supposedly starting to eat each other,
- 2:01:37hoping to keep anybody from joining
- 2:01:39their side. Now, otherwise, the
- 2:01:42Prototype's plans continued to go well
- 2:01:44and going into 2004, it seemed like he
- 2:01:47was on the verge of winning the toy war
- 2:01:49against the Safe Haven. As the room was
- 2:01:52having some problems with the generator,
- 2:01:54which began to malfunction. Now, this
- 2:01:57normally wouldn't be a big problem
- 2:01:59because Dewey was able to easily collect
- 2:02:01all the parts he needed to fix that.
- 2:02:03However, to access the generator, the
- 2:02:06Omni Hand was required with the only
- 2:02:08known one still in existence owned by
- 2:02:11Harley Sawyer, who at this point, while
- 2:02:14it's not known how, had developed
- 2:02:16hundreds of robotic minions of his own
- 2:02:19to live up in the domain that he could
- 2:02:21transfer his mind onto, making him a
- 2:02:23very powerful source. Or in other words,
- 2:02:26they had no real way to access it
- 2:02:28without risking death. In December of
- 2:02:302004, they even began trying to find new
- 2:02:34places to hide to desperately find an
- 2:02:36out from the Prototype, and although the
- 2:02:39ally Giblets would suggest that they
- 2:02:41come down to the recycling area in the
- 2:02:44labs where he was stationed. They
- 2:02:46wouldn't end up doing so and by 2005
- 2:02:50things had reached the end of the line.
- 2:02:53The enemy toys had completely surrounded
- 2:02:55the safe haven and while the members
- 2:02:57would attempt to place traps to stop
- 2:03:00them, the prototype had figured out how
- 2:03:02to get past all of them and would
- 2:03:04menacingly wait outside of their door
- 2:03:07tapping on it. With the reality that
- 2:03:09safe haven was on the ropes and could be
- 2:03:11breached at any moment, one of the
- 2:03:14inhabitants had a crazy idea, Kissy
- 2:03:17Missy. She had known about the employee
- 2:03:20Rich who survived the hour of joy and
- 2:03:23was out there somewhere giving her the
- 2:03:26idea to call for him for help. So, Kissy
- 2:03:30using her primitive drawing skills wrote
- 2:03:32a little letter and exited the safe
- 2:03:35haven to go outside and send it. Hoping
- 2:03:39that Rich would respond. Going outside
- 2:03:41of the factory to Rich's residence,
- 2:03:44since the hour of joy he just wanted to
- 2:03:47forget about the factory. He had no idea
- 2:03:49where any of his co-workers had gone nor
- 2:03:52did he think he'd ever see them again
- 2:03:54and the survivor's guilt of being one of
- 2:03:56the only people to make it out alive
- 2:03:59weighed on him heavily and there was
- 2:04:01nothing he could do about it. That was
- 2:04:04until he got a package at his door
- 2:04:08featuring a VHS tape for the Poppy
- 2:04:10Playtime doll and a letter that said
- 2:04:13there were still co-workers alive in the
- 2:04:16factory directing him to the flower
- 2:04:19mural by Poppy's room. Getting this
- 2:04:21letter meant everything to Rich because
- 2:04:24it meant he could finally get some
- 2:04:26answers to what happened to the factory
- 2:04:28and the employees. Maybe some were alive
- 2:04:31like the letter suggested. Either way,
- 2:04:33out of both curiosity and guilt, Rich
- 2:04:36would make his way 10 years later to the
- 2:04:39Playtime factory to explore and see what
- 2:04:43he found inside. Starting at the plot of
- 2:04:46the main game where Rich is the player
- 2:04:49who for now I'll just refer to as us.
- 2:04:52Upon entering the factory, at first
- 2:04:54everything looked exactly how we
- 2:04:56expected it to. Everything was
- 2:04:59abandoned, broken toys lied everywhere,
- 2:05:02and it was extremely silent. However,
- 2:05:05when grabbing a grab pack and entering
- 2:05:07the lobby, we saw none other than Huggy
- 2:05:11Wuggy. We tried to ignore the statue,
- 2:05:14but eventually it completely disappeared
- 2:05:16and we realized it was one of the
- 2:05:18experiments that still lived. From here
- 2:05:22on our journey, we saw the experiment
- 2:05:24sneaking around like it was trying to
- 2:05:26hunt us. And after moving throughout the
- 2:05:28factory some more, we eventually made it
- 2:05:32to the make-a-friend machine. Collecting
- 2:05:34a Catbee plush to enter the next room.
- 2:05:37But this is when Huggy finally pounced
- 2:05:40on us, chasing us into the nearest vent.
- 2:05:44After running from the beast for a
- 2:05:45little bit, we ended up nearly making it
- 2:05:47out and dropped a box on Huggy, dropping
- 2:05:50him down the catwalk area to his
- 2:05:53presumed death. Which conveniently
- 2:05:55landed us right next to the flower room
- 2:05:58we were sent here to find. We approached
- 2:06:01and entered the mysterious room to find
- 2:06:04that the entire place was themed like a
- 2:06:07house. As strange as this was, we
- 2:06:09continued down and at the end were some
- 2:06:12wooden doors that when opening revealed
- 2:06:16none other than Poppy locked inside of a
- 2:06:20case. Naturally, we finally opened the
- 2:06:23door and after multiple years of being
- 2:06:25stuck, Poppy was free. After waking up
- 2:06:29from a sleep caused by all of the Poppy
- 2:06:32scents that built up in that case. We
- 2:06:34exited the room and entered Elliot
- 2:06:37Ludwig's office. After exploring around
- 2:06:39a bit, we finally met back up with
- 2:06:42Poppy, who seemed super optimistic and
- 2:06:45had a mission for us to complete, which
- 2:06:48was to go down to the game station and
- 2:06:50activate the train to find an escape. We
- 2:06:53mindlessly obliged. However, what Poppy
- 2:06:56didn't tell us was that the game station
- 2:06:59was still inhabited by Mommy Long Legs,
- 2:07:02who before Poppy could even finish
- 2:07:04talking to us, stole her and forced us
- 2:07:07to go and try to save her. Upon
- 2:07:09confronting Mommy, she knew that we
- 2:07:11wanted the train code, but before giving
- 2:07:14it to us, she wanted to get revenge. We
- 2:07:17were a former employee, so before
- 2:07:19getting the code, she forced us to play
- 2:07:22through the game station games
- 2:07:24ourselves, giving us little parts of the
- 2:07:26code for each game we beat. So, that's
- 2:07:29exactly what we did. We went through
- 2:07:31musical memory and whack-a-waggy without
- 2:07:34being attacked by the now hungry and
- 2:07:36vicious toys who occupied the area.
- 2:07:39Although, after surviving the first two
- 2:07:41mini games, Mommy kind of raged out a
- 2:07:43bit and actually killed Bunzo Bunny and
- 2:07:46the Wuggies. After completing those two
- 2:07:49mini games though, we found ourselves
- 2:07:51stuck behind a gate that we couldn't
- 2:07:54open from the outside. This was when
- 2:07:57none other than Kissy Missy was waiting
- 2:08:01for us, where she came up and opened the
- 2:08:03gate, allowing us to pass through. From
- 2:08:06here, we then made it to the final game,
- 2:08:10statues, that after making it to the end
- 2:08:13of, we saw was completely blocked off,
- 2:08:16revealing that Mommy never actually
- 2:08:19intended for us to survive this
- 2:08:20challenge. Regardless, there was a
- 2:08:22grapple we could use to launch ourselves
- 2:08:25into the observation room, which
- 2:08:27thankfully it meant we survived. But
- 2:08:29Tamami, she considered that cheating.
- 2:08:33So, she refused to give us the final
- 2:08:35piece of the train combo and instead
- 2:08:38attacked us, chasing us all around the
- 2:08:40factory until eventually she
- 2:08:42accidentally got herself caught up in a
- 2:08:44grinder, which we activated, killing
- 2:08:47her. But not before none other than the
- 2:08:51prototype made his first appearance,
- 2:08:53reaching out and grabbing her body to
- 2:08:56eventually add onto his own. Anyway, we
- 2:08:59continued moving and found the final
- 2:09:01part of the train code along with
- 2:09:03rescuing the Poppy doll, allowing us to
- 2:09:06finally be done and escape, [music]
- 2:09:08right? Well, not exactly. What Poppy
- 2:09:11didn't specifically say about all of
- 2:09:13this is that she had much bigger plans
- 2:09:16with us when finally getting on the
- 2:09:18train. So, instead of helping us escape
- 2:09:20like we thought, she ended up changing
- 2:09:23the directions to none other than
- 2:09:25Playcare. Eventually, for better or
- 2:09:28worse, the train ended up crashing,
- 2:09:30which knocked us out. And while Poppy
- 2:09:33would end up running away before
- 2:09:35anything happened, this is when
- 2:09:37Playcare's main inhabitant, Catnap,
- 2:09:40would find us. To quickly dispose of us,
- 2:09:42he would dump us inside of Playtime
- 2:09:45Co.'s garbage disposal room. But
- 2:09:47thankfully, we ended up waking up just
- 2:09:49in time and were able to escape this
- 2:09:51area before it closed in. After
- 2:09:53exploring the new area we were dropped
- 2:09:55into a little bit, we found a phone that
- 2:09:59on the line had none other than Poppy's
- 2:10:02quote-unquote friend, Ollie. Not knowing
- 2:10:05Ollie was actually just the prototype,
- 2:10:07we listened to him as a guide and made
- 2:10:10our way into Playcare. When entering, we
- 2:10:13listened to a little speech from Elliot
- 2:10:15about how much he cared about making
- 2:10:17people happy before inventing the
- 2:10:19Playcare. And then Ollie finally
- 2:10:22informed us why we were there, which was
- 2:10:24to make our way to the gas production
- 2:10:27zone where the red smoke was being
- 2:10:29created and redirect the gas down to the
- 2:10:32prison. However, when doing this, the
- 2:10:34power went out, and it was our job to go
- 2:10:38inside Playcare's various different
- 2:10:40buildings and activate their backup
- 2:10:42generators. We aren't told exactly why
- 2:10:44we needed to do any of this, but once
- 2:10:47again, we oblige and make our way into
- 2:10:50the first building, at Home Sweet Home,
- 2:10:51where the children slept. First, we are
- 2:10:54met with a ton of red smoke that we walk
- 2:10:56through, which causes us to fall into a
- 2:10:59nightmare of our own. Where, after
- 2:11:02walking through these long, deep
- 2:11:04hallways, we see writings on the floor
- 2:11:07that displayed we were feeling really
- 2:11:09guilty about our involvement with the
- 2:11:12factory. On radios lying around the
- 2:11:14area, we hear about the news report of
- 2:11:17the body of Oliver found in Elliot's
- 2:11:20home. Tragic news this morning as of
- 2:11:239:45 a.m., local authorities report that
- 2:11:25the body of a young boy has been found
- 2:11:28on the estate of the late Elliot Ludwig.
- 2:11:30We even get to revisit our old desk from
- 2:11:33when the factory was still open.
- 2:11:36Nonetheless, we push further in this
- 2:11:37dream and eventually find ourselves
- 2:11:40stuck inside of a lab room, the place
- 2:11:43Playtime Co. would work on these
- 2:11:45experiments. Where, for a role reversal,
- 2:11:48an evil Huggy comes out of the TV and we
- 2:11:51become the victims. As he corners us and
- 2:11:54eats us, finally ending the dream. Once
- 2:11:57we woke up, though, we continued our
- 2:11:59journey. Quickly, we saw that like
- 2:12:02Huggy, Catnap was lurking around hunting
- 2:12:04us, but didn't strike yet. Regardless,
- 2:12:07we successfully powered on the Home
- 2:12:09Sweet Home generator and made our way
- 2:12:11out. When stepping outside, we are
- 2:12:14ambushed by none other than Kissy Missy,
- 2:12:16who had met back up with Poppy and
- 2:12:19attacked us out of pure fear after the
- 2:12:21hour of joy that clearly traumatized
- 2:12:23her. Anyway, with Poppy now back with
- 2:12:26us, she explained to us that the reason
- 2:12:28she dragged us down here in general was
- 2:12:31to defeat the prototype once and for
- 2:12:33all. Since after all, they were the one
- 2:12:35keeping all of the toys down here and
- 2:12:38the one that needed to be killed to stop
- 2:12:40the war. Hearing this, we make our way
- 2:12:42into the Playcare school to power on the
- 2:12:45next generator, where we find Miss
- 2:12:47Delight. And like she agreed to, she
- 2:12:50tried to protect the school by attacking
- 2:12:53us when activating the generator.
- 2:12:55However, fortunately for us, we stayed
- 2:12:57resilient and escaped, shutting a door
- 2:13:00on her, killing her in the process.
- 2:13:03Next, after running into Catnap's
- 2:13:05prototype shrine, which he was actively
- 2:13:07praying to, we made our way to the
- 2:13:10playhouse, which was no longer inhabited
- 2:13:12by children, but rather hundreds of mini
- 2:13:15critters. Where upon exploring, we see
- 2:13:18that every other smiling critter bigger
- 2:13:20body was now dead, except for DogDay,
- 2:13:24whose body at this point was completely
- 2:13:27eaten from the hip down. He tried to
- 2:13:30warn us to leave as there was nothing
- 2:13:32left to save here. However, just seconds
- 2:13:35later, the mini critters came to finally
- 2:13:37finish him off, eating him from the
- 2:13:39inside out and possessing his body
- 2:13:42before chasing us out of the playhouse
- 2:13:45and back into Playcare to enter the
- 2:13:48final destination, the counselor's
- 2:13:50office. Upon entering the office and
- 2:13:53activating the final generator, Catnap
- 2:13:56finally attacked, jumping us, sending
- 2:13:59the player into a second dream sequence,
- 2:14:01where this time we imagine all of the
- 2:14:04children inside of Playcare before it
- 2:14:07was destroyed, even having a little
- 2:14:09flash to the hour of joy. This time when
- 2:14:12waking up, Catnap strictly tells us on
- 2:14:15the phone to leave. However, before
- 2:14:18doing that, we attempted to power on the
- 2:14:20gas production zone finally, only for
- 2:14:24Catnap to have enough and pounce on us
- 2:14:26in the process, chasing us up a lift
- 2:14:29where after fighting off Catnap for a
- 2:14:31while, we were able to activate a green
- 2:14:33hand charge where we were given no other
- 2:14:36choice but to use the green hand of our
- 2:14:38own to charge it and then shoot it at
- 2:14:41Catnap, only for him to breathe out his
- 2:14:44red smoke causing an explosion all over
- 2:14:47his body, burning every ounce of his
- 2:14:49hair off. The prototype came from above
- 2:14:52as Catnap once again got into a prayer
- 2:14:55position. However, for whatever reason,
- 2:14:581006 had had enough of him, stabbing and
- 2:15:02killing him before taking his body away
- 2:15:05as well. Anyway, we finally get to power
- 2:15:08on the gas production zone and send the
- 2:15:10gas down towards the prison. When
- 2:15:12getting on the lift to take us to the
- 2:15:14prison with Poppy while Kissy pulled the
- 2:15:16lever to let us down. As we got lower
- 2:15:19and lower, suddenly Kissy was attacked
- 2:15:23by the prototype who tore her apart as
- 2:15:25well. Fortunately, once we reached the
- 2:15:28bottom, Poppy left us to search for the
- 2:15:30safe haven and went up to go save Kissy.
- 2:15:34We keep moving and eventually come
- 2:15:36across the toy graveyard filled to the
- 2:15:39brim with piles upon piles of now dead
- 2:15:43toys. After passing through this area
- 2:15:46and reaching the train that takes us to
- 2:15:48the prison, we end up uncovering the now
- 2:15:51decaying body of Riley holding the key
- 2:15:54to one of the doors that we took and
- 2:15:57used to enter the prison train. However,
- 2:16:01while waiting for it to start, we end up
- 2:16:03coming face to face with none other than
- 2:16:06Harley Sawyer who all this time, as it
- 2:16:09turns out, has been watching over us and
- 2:16:12our journey through the Playtime
- 2:16:14cameras. And now was here, showing
- 2:16:17himself through one of the Playtime Co.
- 2:16:18TVs. He taunts us for a little bit here,
- 2:16:21and then eventually finally it drops us
- 2:16:24into the prison. We explore around a
- 2:16:26little bit while Harley continues to
- 2:16:28mess with us, doing things like locking
- 2:16:30us in one of these cell blocks that he
- 2:16:32filled up with red smoke until we nearly
- 2:16:35escaped. Once making it out of the
- 2:16:37prison cell blocks, we go into an
- 2:16:39observation room where Harley reveals
- 2:16:42that he had since reunited with an old
- 2:16:45friend of his, Yarnaby, who he let out
- 2:16:48of containment to try and hunt us down.
- 2:16:51Anyway, we keep moving, sneaking around
- 2:16:54Yarnaby, and even having to run from him
- 2:16:57when he eventually does spot us. But
- 2:16:59then, when entering a different
- 2:17:01observation room, we accidentally fall
- 2:17:04down and land defenseless in front of
- 2:17:07none other than Pianosaurus, who was
- 2:17:10still alive and quickly, like he did in
- 2:17:13the past, charged towards us. Only for
- 2:17:16us to thankfully be saved last second by
- 2:17:19none other than Joey the Dough Man, who
- 2:17:22introduces himself to us and directs us
- 2:17:25over to Safe Haven. However, on our way,
- 2:17:28we are dragged into a hiding spot by
- 2:17:30none other than Kissy Missy, who
- 2:17:33miraculously survived her attack from
- 2:17:35the Prototype and had met back up with
- 2:17:37Poppy. However, the Prototype was still
- 2:17:40hot on our tail, walking past our hiding
- 2:17:43spot until we quickly find an opening
- 2:17:45and exit and run into Safe Haven just in
- 2:17:48time. Here, Poppy finally explained to
- 2:17:51us how exactly she planned to kill the
- 2:17:53Prototype, which was to use the red
- 2:17:56smoke that we directed down here to burn
- 2:17:59the entire factory down and kill the
- 2:18:02prototype. This was controversial with
- 2:18:04Joey since he knew to kill the
- 2:18:07prototype, they'd also have to kill
- 2:18:09every other toy in the process. Would it
- 2:18:11be worth it to sacrifice all their lives
- 2:18:14to end the prototype's control and
- 2:18:17abuse? Well, for now, Kissy and Poppy
- 2:18:19stood by to be taken care of by the Safe
- 2:18:22Haven's medic. While Joey briefs us with
- 2:18:24the current mission he needed us for,
- 2:18:27which was to acquire the Omni Hand from
- 2:18:30Harley Sawyer in order to repair the
- 2:18:33Safe Haven generator or else risk the
- 2:18:35prototype breaking in and killing all of
- 2:18:37them. So, we made our way out to the
- 2:18:40doctor's domain. However, before we
- 2:18:42could do so, out from the doors comes
- 2:18:45Yarnaby, who chased us down into a place
- 2:18:48called No Man's Land, forcing us to hide
- 2:18:52and power up and escape, which when
- 2:18:54doing successfully finally lets us kill
- 2:18:57Yarnaby by dropping him into some lava.
- 2:19:00Anyway, finally, we were able to enter
- 2:19:03the doctor's domain, where once
- 2:19:05exploring a bit, he forced us to face
- 2:19:08off against his other pet, Baba Chips,
- 2:19:11who chased us through a room of cages
- 2:19:13with many other nightmare critters
- 2:19:15inside until Harley eventually locked us
- 2:19:18inside of a room and gave us a very
- 2:19:21interesting dilemma. To test our morals,
- 2:19:23we were given the choice to either stay
- 2:19:26inside of this room until we ended up
- 2:19:28dying or we could simply kill this
- 2:19:31innocent Simon Smoke, also trapped
- 2:19:33within a tube to be granted freedom.
- 2:19:36Where did our morals lie? Thankfully,
- 2:19:39this wouldn't really matter because we
- 2:19:41were able to find an escape through a
- 2:19:43hidden exit that he didn't consider, and
- 2:19:45finally, Harley would let us face off
- 2:19:48against him and his minions. And after
- 2:19:51running from them and thankfully
- 2:19:53surviving, we made it to the central
- 2:19:56part of his operation and took out the
- 2:19:58Omni chip as well as finally
- 2:20:01deactivating the doctor once and for
- 2:20:04all. After recollecting the Omni hand,
- 2:20:07we made our way back to Safe Haven and
- 2:20:09finally fixed the generator. Our mission
- 2:20:12was complete with Dewey, although
- 2:20:14somewhat bittersweet, it was time to end
- 2:20:17everything with Poppy. She directed us
- 2:20:20over to the factory's foundation where
- 2:20:23we found and placed dynamite all over it
- 2:20:26and made our way back over to finally
- 2:20:28set everything off. However, while doing
- 2:20:31so, Dewey approached us and realized
- 2:20:33that with both of us out here, nobody
- 2:20:36was watching for the prototype in Safe
- 2:20:38Haven who, in between this blind period,
- 2:20:41had actually stolen all of our
- 2:20:44explosives and snuck into Safe Haven,
- 2:20:47blowing up absolutely everything and
- 2:20:50killing every single toy inside. After
- 2:20:53assessing the damage, we saw that there
- 2:20:56was nothing left but rubble and Dewey
- 2:20:58was heartbroken. Here, we see him bounce
- 2:21:01wildly across his three personalities,
- 2:21:04saying it was his fault and then
- 2:21:06ultimately deciding that it was actually
- 2:21:09our fault, causing him to shapeshift
- 2:21:11into a massive demonic salamander and
- 2:21:15chase us down. When fighting Dewey, we
- 2:21:17take advantage of the liquid nitrogen
- 2:21:20canisters left down here and exploded
- 2:21:22them onto Dewey, leading to his body
- 2:21:25freezing and allowing us to saw his
- 2:21:27otherwise malleable body down, taking us
- 2:21:30to a pressing room where we freeze him
- 2:21:33once more and finally crushed his body,
- 2:21:37causing him to sadly die, but not before
- 2:21:40finally snapping out of it and
- 2:21:42apologizing.
- 2:21:43I'm sorry.
- 2:21:46I'm
- 2:21:48sorry.
- 2:21:49Anyway, after making our way through, we
- 2:21:51enter a little vent shaft and find that
- 2:21:54miraculously Poppy and Kissy had snuck
- 2:21:57away from Safe Haven before it had blown
- 2:21:59up. However, at this point, the
- 2:22:01prototype was done pretending to be
- 2:22:03Ollie all these years for Poppy, and he
- 2:22:06revealed to her that this entire time he
- 2:22:10actually always was 1006,
- 2:22:13telling her he was going to blow up the
- 2:22:16vent we were all hiding in, causing
- 2:22:18Poppy to run through a little exit,
- 2:22:20abandoning us and Kissy while the
- 2:22:22prototype blew up the shaft, which
- 2:22:25thankfully both us and Kissy survived.
- 2:22:28But, while trying to hold us up, Kissy's
- 2:22:30arm tore off and we fell below,
- 2:22:33separated from both of them. Now, for
- 2:22:35the player, we did end up surviving this
- 2:22:38fall as well and found ourselves right
- 2:22:40outside of the lab's entrance, where
- 2:22:42using the Omni Hand, we were able to
- 2:22:45enter. However, when doing so, we saw
- 2:22:48that from the outside
- 2:22:50we had accidentally awoken a familiar
- 2:22:53beast, Huggy Wuggy, who had apparently
- 2:22:56survived his fall and now was repaired
- 2:23:00and ready to attack, banging on the
- 2:23:02glass and chasing us throughout the
- 2:23:04labs. The beast continually kept
- 2:23:07attacking us until we ended up making it
- 2:23:09into an elevator, where Huggy ambushed
- 2:23:12one more time and stole our grab pack,
- 2:23:14finally leaving us alone for a little
- 2:23:16while. On the other hand, for Poppy,
- 2:23:19after running through the vents from the
- 2:23:20prototype, who is now in full pursuit of
- 2:23:23trying to put Poppy back in her case,
- 2:23:25she thankfully managed to escape him.
- 2:23:28However, she only did this by
- 2:23:30accidentally falling through the vents,
- 2:23:32which landed her directly in front of
- 2:23:35none other than Lily Love Brades inside
- 2:23:37of her doll house. As for Kissy, she
- 2:23:40attempted to follow Poppy and looked
- 2:23:43around for her around the sweet street
- 2:23:45area, only for Lily to find and capture
- 2:23:49her as well, trapping both of them
- 2:23:51inside of her prison to treasure them as
- 2:23:54her new friends. Back over to the
- 2:23:56player, after exiting the elevator, we
- 2:23:59saw that down in the darkest depths of
- 2:24:01Playtime Co, there were the Outimals,
- 2:24:04these creepy Inside Out toys that lurked
- 2:24:07and lived around here. We ended up
- 2:24:09finding a toy Globy that allowed us to
- 2:24:12search for hidden ink drawn around the
- 2:24:14labs, along with being able to shine
- 2:24:16lights to scare the Outimals away.
- 2:24:19Anyway, after being jumped by one of the
- 2:24:21Outimals and slowly dragged away, we are
- 2:24:24saved by none other than Giblet, one of
- 2:24:27the prototype's old collaborators who
- 2:24:30had been living down here the entire
- 2:24:32time and had even made a little weapon
- 2:24:34of his to fight off the monsters.
- 2:24:36Anyway, after hiding from the prototype,
- 2:24:38who was still working around here, he
- 2:24:40ends up taking us over to his base and
- 2:24:43he directed us to a new Grab Pack, which
- 2:24:45was in the mouth of the feeder bigger
- 2:24:48body Bron. After exploring a little bit
- 2:24:50further, we end up running into none
- 2:24:53other than Chum Chompkins, who also
- 2:24:55worked with Giblet and tasked us with
- 2:24:58finding some research notes that they
- 2:25:00said could contain the prototype's
- 2:25:02weakness. Upon digging around a little
- 2:25:05bit and eventually finding these notes,
- 2:25:07we learned that the notes in question
- 2:25:09were actually a presentation centered
- 2:25:12around the negation compound, the stuff
- 2:25:15used to destroy biological matter and
- 2:25:18the prototype's only weakness. At the
- 2:25:20end of the presentation, they listed an
- 2:25:22archive sheet for where to find more
- 2:25:25information about the compound, listing
- 2:25:27the master backup inside of the data
- 2:25:30center as the only place containing the
- 2:25:32information. After giving these notes to
- 2:25:35Giblet and Chum, they tasked us with
- 2:25:37making our way to this data center and
- 2:25:39accessing this master backup to
- 2:25:42hopefully learn how to create this
- 2:25:44negation compound and use it against the
- 2:25:46prototype. Anyway, again, the prototype
- 2:25:49came looking for us. However, this time
- 2:25:51we actually just chose to hop into Chum
- 2:25:54Chompkin's belly like what the children
- 2:25:56used to do until the prototype passed
- 2:25:59and sadly Chum had to leave us. Anyway,
- 2:26:02in order to get to this back-up Giblet
- 2:26:04wanted us to reach, we had to cross
- 2:26:07through sweet streets with none other
- 2:26:09than Lily Love Brains. After having
- 2:26:11another run-in with Huggy outside of the
- 2:26:14sweet streets entrance, having to use
- 2:26:16projections of Kissy Missy to distract
- 2:26:18him, we finally powered on the entrance.
- 2:26:21And upon exploring, it didn't take too
- 2:26:24long for Lily Love Brains to find us and
- 2:26:26take us into her dollhouse like the
- 2:26:28others. Upon doing so, she revealed that
- 2:26:31she wanted us to gather her friends for
- 2:26:34the tea party that was supposedly
- 2:26:36happening soon. Since with her trapping
- 2:26:38the Poppy doll down in the basement, the
- 2:26:41prototype finally agreed to come over as
- 2:26:44a special guest to collect the doll.
- 2:26:46After we organized all of her toys and
- 2:26:49eventually snuck into her room which
- 2:26:51contained the original skeleton of Miss
- 2:26:54Gracie, we find her prison key and make
- 2:26:57our way to the basement where Kissy and
- 2:26:59Poppy were locked, freeing them. On the
- 2:27:02way out, however, Lily eventually
- 2:27:04captures us and forces us to be a part
- 2:27:07of the tea party where finally after all
- 2:27:10this time the prototype fully revealed
- 2:27:12himself to us, barging into Lily's
- 2:27:15house. She was excited for his presence
- 2:27:18after being ignored for so many years.
- 2:27:20Although admittedly, he didn't really
- 2:27:22care and was really after his prized
- 2:27:25possession, Poppy, who he finally had
- 2:27:28right in front of him once again. He
- 2:27:31explained his mission as he grabbed the
- 2:27:33Poppy doll. However, before he could do
- 2:27:36anything, he accidentally would crack
- 2:27:38her face, shocking him and causing him
- 2:27:41to drop her. Seeing this happen enraged
- 2:27:44Kissy, especially after what he did to
- 2:27:47her. So, she attacked the prototype
- 2:27:49giving us a window to escape. Lily then
- 2:27:52tried to chase us down. However, after
- 2:27:54climbing up the Sweet Streets clouds, we
- 2:27:56were able to drop one that she was
- 2:27:59standing on, leading to her falling on
- 2:28:01the floor and dying. Now, finally making
- 2:28:04it past, we met back up with Giblet,
- 2:28:07Poppy, and Kissy to tragically see
- 2:28:10Poppy's now destroyed face. But
- 2:28:12thankfully, for now, she was safe. And
- 2:28:15from here, we were directed over to the
- 2:28:17Reanimation train station to find the
- 2:28:20backup. On our way there, however, Huggy
- 2:28:23Wuggy pounces once again. And after
- 2:28:25running from him for a little, we
- 2:28:27finally met back up with our pals at the
- 2:28:30train station. Huggy rushes towards us
- 2:28:33in hot pursuit. However, upon seeing
- 2:28:36Kissy, like when he was first created,
- 2:28:38he was calmed by her presence for the
- 2:28:41very first time since us entering.
- 2:28:44However, the prototype tracked us down
- 2:28:46once again and held no punches, stabbing
- 2:28:49both Huggy and Kissy, forcing us into
- 2:28:52the train right away. After riding the
- 2:28:55train for a while, Giblet directs us to
- 2:28:57jump off at the data center before it
- 2:29:00crashes with the prototype still on it.
- 2:29:03And while the crash exploded the train,
- 2:29:06the prototype somehow still survived,
- 2:29:08leaving us cornered without a way out.
- 2:29:11He quickly stabbed us as we tried to
- 2:29:13run, and finally it took Poppy for real
- 2:29:17this time. Oddly enough though, the
- 2:29:19prototype didn't leave us to die, and
- 2:29:22rather, once he had Poppy, he took our
- 2:29:24body and dropped it into the red Poppy
- 2:29:27gel, allowing our wounds to regenerate
- 2:29:30and us to survive. Getting resuscitated
- 2:29:33from Giblet's staff that shocked us.
- 2:29:35However, Poppy was now gone.
- 2:29:38Nonetheless, we went to activate the
- 2:29:41backup from the data center where we
- 2:29:43found out the archive for the negation
- 2:29:46formula was actually just the conscious
- 2:29:50backup for Harley Sawyer who we had just
- 2:29:53reactivated into the real world. And
- 2:29:56while this is definitely not what we
- 2:29:58thought and on the surface is a bad
- 2:30:01thing, it seems like we might get to use
- 2:30:03him to finally help us capture Poppy and
- 2:30:06create the negation formula to defeat
- 2:30:09the prototype once and for all. Outside
- 2:30:12of Playtime Co though, that's not all
- 2:30:14for the story because there was the
- 2:30:17otherwise untouched Playtime Co Park
- 2:30:20that seemed unaffected by the hour of
- 2:30:22joy and was still occupied by the
- 2:30:24executive Eddie Ritterman. While across
- 2:30:27the sea, there was the entire Japanese
- 2:30:30Playtime Co factory which while we saw
- 2:30:33in a note that none of the Poppy flower
- 2:30:35farming material made it over could
- 2:30:38still be running and functioning to this
- 2:30:41very day.
- 2:30:43But guys, that is all for the timeline.
- 2:30:45Let me know what you guys think of it. I
- 2:30:47obviously had to assume quite a lot of
- 2:30:49things narratively since there's plenty
- 2:30:51of stuff that isn't fully explained or
- 2:30:54isn't given an exact date. And there's
- 2:30:56also a lot of theories that could change
- 2:30:58up the timeline a bit. Like for
- 2:30:59instance, I went with the rich is the
- 2:31:02player theory for this timeline, but
- 2:31:04there's infinite other plausible ideas.
- 2:31:06So, let me know what you guys think of
- 2:31:08the timeline below and I appreciate you
- 2:31:10guys watching.
