65. 2:34part-timer which is which is kind of

74. 2:56early I honestly actually last night I
75. 2:58thought no they're going to cancel like
76. 2:59I was like 0% chance I saw you before
77. 3:03the match I was and you say good luck
78. 3:05kill it out there I'll see you in the
79. 3:06morning I was like yep 10 a.m. brother
80. 3:08like I'm running up four hours of sleep
81. 3:11I got a plane waiting on me brother I'm
82. 3:12sorry oh really I'm going home man yeah
83. 3:14dud I saw I saw him backstage I was
84. 3:16walking with Kristen before before your
85. 3:18match and I was like dude I wonder what
86. 3:20this guy's like because I grew up
87. 3:21watching him and that and that
88. 3:23Undertaker Persona is just so much
89. 3:25larger than life and so dread inducing
90. 3:29and Kristen just like he's really the
91. 3:30nicest guy and like I was just like man
92. 3:33and I and I walked past him I was like
93. 3:35should I say what's up and I was like
94. 3:36and you were having a conversation I was
95. 3:37like no I'm just going to keep him
96. 3:38moving I'll meet him tomorrow it's funny
97. 3:40because people they have a hard time now
98. 3:43separating right um especially even our
99. 3:46talent like because I was there for so
100. 3:49long a lot of our talent grew up
101. 3:52watching me I wrestled their dads yeah
102. 3:54there's some guys that I wrestle their
103. 3:55dads and I've wrestled them it's how
104. 3:57long I was there generational and and
105. 4:00you know they pretty much got the the
106. 4:01same thing so now when people are
107. 4:03actually getting to see Mark Callaway
108. 4:06there's a little bit of a disconnect
109. 4:08like he's just a dude just a guy that
110. 4:11was your doing too I mean you you were
111. 4:13so protective of The Undertaker brand
112. 4:15the whole time that you you know
113. 4:18participate in during all your
114. 4:19appearances that you you know you didn't
115. 4:21show Mark at all so so now has it become
116. 4:25has it been that much more difficult to
117. 4:27kind of separate the two beings it was
118. 4:29uh at first you know once once I retired
119. 4:33from the ring I had a little bit of a a
120. 4:35time period there I was like all right
121. 4:37who who the hell am I here right like
122. 4:40it's like did you have identity crisis I
123. 4:42I did somewhat have an identity crisis I
124. 4:44like like okay that part of me it's over
125. 4:47now but it's been ingrained in me to be
126. 4:51that L you know that ominous character
127. 4:54all the time so it took me a while to
128. 4:55let now now you know here at work and
129. 4:58everything else I mean the guys got to
130. 4:59you know see who I was but uh you know
131. 5:02the the public you it would never were
132. 5:05you nervous to start showing your actual
133. 5:07personality oh dude this is the funny
134. 5:10thing like I could get out in front of a
135. 5:13stadium like that it could be completely
136. 5:14sold out as
137. 5:17Undertaker I'm I'm I'm I'm cool it's
138. 5:20it's not it's not a thing you put me in
139. 5:22front of 10 people and try and get me to
140. 5:25like give a a speech or anything as Mark
141. 5:28Callaway dude my ass is so puckered I
142. 5:31couldn't yeah I could do it me czy and
143. 5:34so you know when they they find they you
144. 5:36know they called me they say hey we want
145. 5:37to put you in the Hall of Fame I was
146. 5:39like and it wasn't that I wasn't I
147. 5:41wasn't honored I was just like I'm going
148. 5:43to have to give a speech no way as
149. 5:45yourself I'm going to have to give a
150. 5:46speech as myself right so I i' like I
151. 5:49had to think about it for a while
152. 5:50because it was like I had to process it
153. 5:52like fck okay this is it man this is if
154. 5:55you do this you know here the curtains
155. 5:57coming wide open and and here we go so
156. 6:01uh well you worked so hard to stay in
157. 6:03character both on and out or in and out
158. 6:06of the ring yeah it was just it was just
159. 6:09I wish I could say you know I was that
160. 6:11smart to you know but I I didn't I never
161. 6:14expected everything that the business
162. 6:16has to offer now back then so it was a
163. 6:19great thing that I protected the brand
164. 6:21and and even not knowing that I was I
165. 6:23was just protecting that character and
166. 6:26the
167. 6:27business uh for the way it was everybody
168. 6:29ran it back then such a smart thing to
169. 6:33do well you you had the veil of the
170. 6:35character which was I mean I'll use the
171. 6:39word perfect in my opinion like every
172. 6:42once in a while you have the perfect
173. 6:45concept all come together and I think we
174. 6:47saw that with the Undertaker like the
175. 6:50storyline the character the music your
176. 6:53move set your height just your build
177. 6:55everything just fit you so perfectly
178. 6:58which I think contributed to the reason
179. 7:01that you were able to remain relevant
180. 7:03for 20 plus 30 years like even even now
181. 7:07but man it's like you are still the
182. 7:10Undertaker and it was because of your
183. 7:11commitment to this character yeah well
184. 7:13thank you yeah it was it was definitely
185. 7:15a commitment and and it was um you know
186. 7:19it it was rough for people too cuz you
187. 7:21know everyone had to go along you know
188. 7:23had go along with it they had to they
189. 7:24had to sell it to and and everybody it
190. 7:26was all part of the deal and if it
191. 7:28didn't then you know then you see the
192. 7:30other side of me like okay that's he's
193. 7:32an [ __ ] but it it was business
194. 7:35everything you know everything was
195. 7:36business and uh uh but now you know I'm
196. 7:39in a good place now like I'm I'm at a
197. 7:41place now where I can I okay I can talk
198. 7:44about Undertaker and I can be Mark
199. 7:46Callaway and and it it's all good well
200. 7:48you're you're a podcaster oh I would
201. 7:50that I I wouldn't go as far as to call
202. 7:52me a podcaster yet but we do we do
203. 7:54occupy some some time here and there um
204. 7:57and that's a you know that's a that was
205. 7:59that was kind of a challenge too because
206. 8:02you know it it's one thing sitting here
207. 8:04being interviewed but then you know when
208. 8:06you're trying to extract and then you
209. 8:08know I'm sure as you experienced
210. 8:10sometimes you have guests that are you
211. 8:12know like oh yeah so then it really puts
212. 8:17the work on you because you've got to
213. 8:18extract you you've got to get we just
214. 8:20talk to each other when that happens
215. 8:22okay so you got to start breaking out in
216. 8:23conversation I'm I'm dying over here
217. 8:25right okay I got it how many episodes
218. 8:27Have You Done of six feet under right
219. 8:29yeah six feet under I think uh we're
220. 8:31about I don't know 24 five in oh that's
221. 8:35like right when you start grooving like
222. 8:37you'll you'll be like if you're not
223. 8:40already you'll be feeling like 100% like
224. 8:43yeah I was it was a couple of shows ago
225. 8:46we I we were yeah like I said they're
226. 8:49always surprised when I show up and and
227. 8:51and do it because I you know I hadn't
228. 8:54really embraced it yet
229. 8:57um and you know OB obious I don't know
230. 9:00you've heard of my my my group my boys
231. 9:02the bsk right of course so I don't know
232. 9:04I don't I was feeling it one day and I
233. 9:06was like hey if we hit a million
234. 9:08subscribers or whatever from s you know
235. 9:10by Mania I said we'll do a we'll do a
236. 9:14reunion a reunion podcast with all the
237. 9:17bsk members right that are still
238. 9:20alive and I said it and it's out there
239. 9:23and then I'm like that was the worst
240. 9:25thing that I could have possibly done to
241. 9:27get all these guys back together again
242. 9:29if if that would if that happens and I
243. 9:31don't get canceled like it's impossible
244. 9:33no way no
245. 9:35way just wild cards like that yeah I I
246. 9:38mean I personally I don't mean I don't I
247. 9:39think you know you only get canceled if
248. 9:41you let yourself get canceled but
249. 9:43there's some wild cards in that group
250. 9:44yeah there definitely uh there there's
251. 9:47some there's some interesting
252. 9:49personalities that'll uh well welcome to
253. 9:51social media the world of social media
254. 9:53will where people will pick you apart
255. 9:56every part of of you you know and that
256. 9:58and that's the scary thing about about
257. 10:00revealing who you are right cuz now
258. 10:03you're now you're not in character my
259. 10:05guess is and I don't want to speak for
260. 10:07you but like you know what are you going
261. 10:08to say about the Undertaker you don't
262. 10:10know much about him besides he shows up
263. 10:12and kicks ass yeah but the more Mark
264. 10:14talks now you got opinions that could
265. 10:17rub people the wrong way they find out
266. 10:18more about you they don't agree that's
267. 10:20the thing though they're my opinions so
268. 10:22you know I think that's the biggest I
269. 10:24think that's the biggest issue with
270. 10:25social media is that is that you know
271. 10:27people are we're all allowed we all have
272. 10:29that right to have our own opinion and
273. 10:31we don't have to agree with it and I'm
274. 10:33not going you know what if I say
275. 10:36something that you don't agree with I'm
276. 10:37not you know no offense I'm not going to
277. 10:39lose any sleep over it and yeah but I I
278. 10:41think people are just really way
279. 10:44too sensitive today and I I think there
280. 10:47is a there's a part you mean you we have
281. 10:49to as people be a little more sensitive
282. 10:51but I think it's gone too it's gone way
283. 10:53over the top of like we're in a odd spot
284. 10:56yeah yeah we're in a odd place right now
285. 10:58my my advice would be just stay off
286. 11:01social media that's what I try to do as
287. 11:03much as possible I'm down to like 14 I
288. 11:05think 14 16 hours a day right now but
289. 11:08I'm getting I've been doing much better
290. 11:11I think okay I think I'm GNA take your
291. 11:12ADV I think I can handle that yeah uh
292. 11:14you know what it's and too and like with
293. 11:18my kids like with social media like and
294. 11:20I'm kind of guess I'm shooting myself in
295. 11:22the foot here because obviously that's
296. 11:23what we want is people you know watching
297. 11:26our content it's is like man don't don't
298. 11:30live vicariously through through me go
299. 11:33out and live your life I think there's
300. 11:35too many people that just rely on on on
301. 11:38social media and and like I said we're
302. 11:41I'm shooting you know I'm I'm killing
303. 11:43our stuff here but you know go and live
304. 11:45your life man and and have your own
305. 11:47experiences and and then uh but don't
306. 11:51man don't don't live your life
307. 11:52vicariously through somebody else
308. 11:53there's there's too much stuff out there
309. 11:55to do and enjoy this summer slam's been
310. 11:58crazy but thinking to myself I'd like to
311. 12:00go to a Cavs game or maybe a Guardians

362. 13:45have always wondered and and they the

364. 13:51I've got 30 plus years of of I don't
365. 13:54remember everything okay CTE is real
366. 13:56some I mean I've had a few concussions
367. 13:58and and and I will throw something out
368. 14:00there that's wrong like a date or a

370. 14:05whatever and they have no hesitation

373. 14:13such and I'm

384. 14:40absolutely not no no but I I think it's
385. 14:43also different in that um while they
386. 14:46have such passion for whether it's love
387. 14:49or hate for their baby face or their
388. 14:51heel it's uh there's like an
389. 14:54understanding and it the it it I think
390. 14:56love is the like underlining yeah no
391. 14:59they they they love wrestling they're
392. 15:00they're they're they're proud I think
393. 15:01they're proud to be wrestling fans
394. 15:03because obviously for years and years
395. 15:05and years he's like oh man I watch
396. 15:06wrestling you you know people kind of
397. 15:07crap on you but there is a lot of
398. 15:09competition in what we do and you want
399. 15:12you want to be the guy well the criteria
400. 15:14isn't just the sport absolutely that's a
401. 15:16small part of it yeah it's like what is
402. 15:19your move set how are your promos how do
403. 15:21the fans react to how are you connecting
404. 15:23with your fans how are you connecting
405. 15:24backstage are you an [ __ ] you people
406. 15:26like you like are do you deserve that
407. 15:28spot do you do you deserve to lose the
408. 15:31United States title sore subject there
409. 15:35right no but before we before we move on

436. 16:41picture and and of him with the belt my
437. 16:43belt you're like whose belt is no
438. 16:45literally I was like bro that's my belt
439. 16:47like that's it's just crazy see with
440. 16:50someone else yeah but uh yeah man I I
441. 16:53try to do it uh I'm I'm running on four
442. 16:56hours of sleep Mark you got to forgive

447. 17:08and you still around the scene cuz you

452. 17:20product is is a lot different from when
453. 17:23I worked but I think there's a lot of
454. 17:25elements that I can like I I can still
455. 17:28that are still relevant to today's
456. 17:31product um and you know I think there's
457. 17:35a there's a handful of guys that'll come
458. 17:37still pick my brain and I have to do
459. 17:40that yeah you brother if you see me and
460. 17:42you got something on your mind I mean
461. 17:44like I said today's game is a lot
462. 17:46different so I have to process the
463. 17:48information that I give because it is a
464. 17:50different product but there's a lot of
465. 17:52the the root principles of of of
466. 17:55wrestling that still apply are you you a
467. 17:59fan yourself of WWE's current product I
468. 18:02I am it's different it is like you know
469. 18:04I've had to stop myself from being that
470. 18:07old crusty you know Oldtimer like I
471. 18:10ain't the way we did it you know uh
472. 18:14but the business is freaking incredible
473. 18:17right now it is it's it is absolutely
474. 18:19insane so I can't [ __ ] too much about
475. 18:22it because you guys are killing it
476. 18:24whenever we ask like we had hulon like
477. 18:28two weeks ago or three weeks ago or
478. 18:29something and we ask a very similar
479. 18:31question about today's product and there
480. 18:33there's always like a little bit of a
481. 18:35pause where like it feels like it looks
482. 18:37it looks almost like you're reminiscing
483. 18:39back on 30 years of Destruction yeah you
484. 18:43know real destruction what what in your
485. 18:45mind like what's the core difference
486. 18:47core difference between today and
487. 18:49yesterday's product so one there was a
488. 18:52really high
489. 18:53turnover of my my generation and my guys
490. 18:58and then the new new guys that coming up
491. 19:01and I
492. 19:02think and and and for you too this would
493. 19:05be I think there's the guys are so
494. 19:10athletic like the things like that the
495. 19:14springboard thing it's like that's video
496. 19:17game [ __ ] brother like I couldn't have
497. 19:19in my day I couldn't have never even
498. 19:21imagined doing that like it was just
499. 19:24like and I guess it is from the
500. 19:26generations playing video games and like
501. 19:27shut up I could do that right I was like
502. 19:31holy [ __ ] but what you know again those
503. 19:34kind of
504. 19:35moves increase the risk again like I
505. 19:38said earlier exponentially I mean I
506. 19:41always feel like in any given
507. 19:43match you're one two inches away from
508. 19:46something really catastrophic happening
509. 19:48yes right and you experienced it last
510. 19:50night you felt you know
511. 19:52yeah so I think there's an element to
512. 19:56the
513. 19:57storytelling that
514. 19:59guys aren't comfortable with that yet
515. 20:01where they are comfortable with their
516. 20:03athleticism and they know what they can
517. 20:04do athletically but what happens my
518. 20:07opinion what happens is then the
519. 20:11audience that's what they
520. 20:13expect and you have to
521. 20:16continually put okay so you did a a a
522. 20:20back springboard moonsault onto the
523. 20:22floor yeah okay I've seen that now now
524. 20:25what do you got yeah you know what I say
525. 20:27they they get desens
526. 20:29to to you know I mean when you and
527. 20:32Ricochet did the the the the midair
528. 20:36Collision the the clothes lines like oh
529. 20:38[ __ ] something that no one's ever seen
530. 20:40yeah so what what ends up happening is a
531. 20:43lot of times you might get yourself put
532. 20:44in a box where uh I don't you know no
533. 20:48back flips
534. 20:49tonight yeah but if they're invested in
535. 20:53the character and I think you've done a
536. 20:55really really really good job of of
537. 20:59being who you are and in your platform
538. 21:02and your social media and being that guy
539. 21:04and not trying to be well let me tell
540. 21:06you something brother kind of of a guy
541. 21:09you're genuine so I think people I think
542. 21:11people resonate whether they love you
543. 21:13whether they hate you I think I think
544. 21:15you could get to a point where you
545. 21:17didn't necessarily have to do that it's
546. 21:19nice to have it in the toolbox but don't
547. 21:22rely on it I don't want to ever do that
548. 21:23move again yeah I I I wouldn't blame you
549. 21:25no I'd never do that again it it's it's
550. 21:28on film now brother it'll live forever
551. 21:30yeah but I but I think that's that's
552. 21:32where the the and it's coming back
553. 21:35you're starting to see more guys that
554. 21:36are in you know Roman and all the
555. 21:39storytelling aspect of it that's what
556. 21:41makes people care so as someone new who
557. 21:44is who's uh now coming to understand
558. 21:47this really intricate business and and
559. 21:50uh WWE is the hardest thing I've ever
560. 21:52done I'm kind of realizing that now
561. 21:56because when I first got in here I knew
562. 21:57I knew I could shock people with these
563. 21:59these moves that I could that I could do
564. 22:01and it's still very fun and there's that
565. 22:03Daredevil in me that's like how far can
566. 22:05I push push this and one day I'm sure
567. 22:07he'll get the answer to that question oh
568. 22:10it comes it comes yeah it comes
569. 22:11eventually and with the Ricochet one
570. 22:13like you know not a not a great landing
571. 22:15took a little bit from me like my soul
572. 22:18and and and these things happen but like
573. 22:21I worked on that move for months right
574. 22:23for months because I knew I was in in
575. 22:27Cleveland in my hometown Brown stadium
576. 22:28and I wanted to send it I'll do it once
577. 22:30in my life I'll never do it again
578. 22:32because it is extremely hard and
579. 22:34dangerous and like you said there's
580. 22:37there's basically zero margin for error
581. 22:39no margin for error on that your foot
582. 22:41slips dude it's no I had I had our
583. 22:44referee secretly you can see this uh if
584. 22:47you watch your film back secretly he'd
585. 22:49put his armpit on the rope and dry it
586. 22:51off because if it like rub it just cuz
587. 22:53if there was oil on there and this has
588. 22:55happened before uh there's oil on there
589. 22:57you slip up and you do the
590. 22:59but what I'm getting
591. 23:01is I'm envious of guys like Roman who
592. 23:05don't have
593. 23:06to risk their entire like body and
594. 23:10health and wellness because people are
595. 23:12so invested in the story yep in the
596. 23:14story and it's it's such a such a good
597. 23:17note that's a veteran note but that's
598. 23:19the hardest part it is it how can you
599. 23:21tell that story to get people invested
600. 23:24in in in in who you are yeah it takes
601. 23:27time because
602. 23:29and especially somebody coming in you
603. 23:31know what two three years yeah yeah I
604. 23:34mean at three years I could barely lace
605. 23:36my boots I mean there's just a it's such
606. 23:38a a process but it's trial and error too
607. 23:41like you have to figure out because what
608. 23:44you want you want it to look natural you
609. 23:46want it to look real and you just have
610. 23:49to I think a lot of times what happens
611. 23:52are the guys and and I tell them this
612. 23:55all the time it's like you don't look
613. 23:57like a wrestler to me you look like
614. 23:59somebody trying to emulate a wrestler
615. 24:02you're trying to be something that
616. 24:03you've seen on TV I don't get that with
617. 24:06you I get I I get Logan Paul that's what
618. 24:10I get and and and that's and that's
619. 24:12awesome I don't don't try to change is
620. 24:14my point to that don't try to don't be
621. 24:17that kind of WR don't don't try to be
622. 24:19fit that wrestler you know and and I
623. 24:21think you're smart enough you know that
624. 24:22but I'm just you know talking to you but
625. 24:26I think that's the is the essence is
626. 24:28they they they have to trial and error
627. 24:31so you did you did a decent amount of
628. 24:33trial and error before you found the
629. 24:35Undertaker oh yeah man I mean how many
630. 24:37how many characters had you play oh jeez
631. 24:38I went through you know I mean a lot of
632. 24:40them didn't count CU it was just me
633. 24:41trying to come up and you know back then
634. 24:44it was just find find a ring to get in
635. 24:47like I would have to pay money to help
636. 24:50set up a ring so that I would get put on
637. 24:52some little you know backyard promotion
638. 24:55kind of card with 20 people that's crazy
639. 24:59see will you ever have that same respect
640. 25:02that you have for or that same vibe that
641. 25:04you have towards yourself having paid
642. 25:05your dues like that and all the other
643. 25:07guys that you used to look at versus you
644. 25:09know guys that could come along nowadays
645. 25:11and use a bolstered social media and
646. 25:14skill set not to remove from his his
647. 25:16incredible skill set to to kind of just
648. 25:19appear like the Undertaker would no that
649. 25:23is a that is a really good question
650. 25:25because there there was a time there it
651. 25:27was like again I was that salty kind of
652. 25:30you know Oldtimer who had his day I was
653. 25:32like look at these kids oh my gosh they
654. 25:34get but then when I look back at it it
655. 25:37was like dude you were part of this you
656. 25:39you you kind of helped pave the way so
657. 25:42that we have a performance center down
658. 25:44in Orlando where we can we can send our
659. 25:47guys down there to train with the best
660. 25:50and it puts us on the same kind of level
661. 25:54as NFL or NBA or major league b baseball
662. 25:58I mean the way that the WWE is run today
663. 26:01is it is a
664. 26:04pro uh you know it is a pro franchise
665. 26:07call it a well oiled machine yeah and so
666. 26:11if if if we're in a position where we
667. 26:14can one have these tryouts and handpick
668. 26:18the guys that we want and you put them
669. 26:20in the system and you pay them like you
670. 26:24know it's just like a man they're not
671. 26:25paying well you know what
672. 26:28there there's a there's a certain part
673. 26:30of paying dues and and going so through
674. 26:32some of the stuff that I had to go
675. 26:33through that gives you an edge and gives
676. 26:36you makes you a little saltier maybe but
677. 26:38I don't know that you need that in this
678. 26:41day and age I I just you know I wouldn't
679. 26:43change the way I came up man I I I just
680. 26:45wouldn't because it prepared me for
681. 26:47things you know that I would never think
682. 26:50you know that I would be in situations
683. 26:52that I would be put in uh you know I
684. 26:55lived in my car I lived in my car for
685. 26:57almost a year year cuz I didn't have you
686. 26:59know I I left I left school how does a
687. 27:03guy was I think it was a 87 Monte Carlo
688. 27:08yeah oh that's a a longer
689. 27:11body when you're when you're 6'8 and 315
690. 27:15lbs that gets eaten up really quick yeah
691. 27:17that's CRA that's crazy but it's like
692. 27:19indicative of how much you loved the
693. 27:21business and you love what you do yeah
694. 27:23and this what I'm saying like the
695. 27:24Collision of of you mark 6'8 3 50b guy
696. 27:28who loves professional wrestling meeting
697. 27:31this concept of The Undertaker was like
698. 27:35perfect like I'm saying every once in a
699. 27:37while you get that and lightning in a
700. 27:39bottle it's it's literally lightning in
701. 27:41a bottle like like dude even the fact
702. 27:42that you can do that thing with your
703. 27:44eyes and the and the tongue yeah like
704. 27:47it's all just it's all just too perfect
705. 27:49and I know you want to you told this
706. 27:51story probably a ton of times but like I
707. 27:55am just so curious the concept of the
708. 27:57under Aker did it click for you
709. 28:00immediately when you went this is it and
710. 28:02I'm going to do this for the rest of my
711. 28:04life um you know initially I was just I
712. 28:09was just excited that I wasn't going to
713. 28:12be the Eggman you know that was that was
714. 28:14a legitimate that was that was a
715. 28:17legitimate uh source of anxiety for me
716. 28:19for a while that I was going to you know
717. 28:22cuz I I I'd been at WCW and I was trying
718. 28:25to grow my hair out and I'm like he's
719. 28:28going to shave my head shave my I'm
720. 28:29going to be you know I got a big ass
721. 28:31head anyway I look like an egg so I'm
722. 28:33going to be this you know I was just
723. 28:34like I I was losing sleep about it cuz
724. 28:36it just that's just the way it was and
725. 28:38there was so many over-the toop
726. 28:40outlandish characters and uh you know
727. 28:43the old man called me one day and it was
728. 28:46he didn't call me Mark he he just said
729. 28:48is this the Undertaker you know and I'm
730. 28:50having this moment like covering the
731. 28:52phone up right and I'm like Undertaker
732. 28:56Undertaker
733. 28:58Undertaker's not
734. 29:01Eggman yeah yeah yeah this is the
735. 29:03Undertaker ah great man great can you be
736. 29:07up here tomorrow I want to show you some
737. 29:08stuff uh yeah like I I got no money I
738. 29:12don't like I have no clue that they're
739. 29:14going to send me a ticket right I'm I'm
740. 29:16Greener you know I'm Greener can be so
741. 29:19they flew me up there and so Vince had
742. 29:21the concept of The Undertaker the look
743. 29:23and everything and kind of explained to
744. 29:26me what it was and you know I was like
745. 29:29this could be really cool and then you
746. 29:31know once you know then they they
747. 29:33started making the the the original
748. 29:36costume and everything I was like yeah
749. 29:38this is like cuz you know I loved like
750. 29:40old the old Clint Eastwood westerns
751. 29:43right and I'm like okay all right and
752. 29:46then you know the you know is he is he
753. 29:49dead or is he alive kind of thing so
754. 29:50then it's like okay so now there's some
755. 29:52Horror in this thing too right so
756. 29:54there's all these different elements
757. 29:55that that uh you know that I did have a
758. 29:59lot of interest in so um could I have
759. 30:02told you then in in 1990 uh that you
760. 30:06know 30 plus years later that I'd be
761. 30:08sitting here talking to you about it no
762. 30:10absolutely not uh but it had to have hit
763. 30:13at some point like this is working yeah
764. 30:15no no no it it was like by 90 so I
765. 30:19started in November of
766. 30:2090 um yeah by the end of ' 91 like it's
767. 30:25there's there's there's Jake Flair and
768. 30:28myself we're all the top heels already
769. 30:30you know and I'm like okay and then the
770. 30:33switch to me you know this character the
771. 30:36darkest character that anyone's ever
772. 30:37seen is now becoming a baby face you
773. 30:40know was just like yeah okay this
774. 30:42thing's got legs and this whole time you
775. 30:45know I'm I'm developing and and and
776. 30:47figuring out what works and sound like
777. 30:50my
778. 30:53coffin somebody somebody let somebody
779. 30:55out Jeff too yeah that's my manager uh
780. 30:59he's he's a scumbag who always gives me
781. 31:00the brass knuckles that's the one right
782. 31:02there yeah yeah yeah I was going to I
783. 31:05was going to ask about the uh the
784. 31:07finisher and and and H how quickly did
785. 31:09the did the move set how quickly did the
786. 31:12tombstone join you in the process well
787. 31:14funny enough like with the with the with
788. 31:16the move set is like I had
789. 31:18to I had a I had a move I was pretty
790. 31:21athletic mhm yeah for your size
791. 31:24especially dude yeah crazy I had to I
792. 31:27had to pull in the rain cuz I was still
793. 31:28like the first couple of matches that I
794. 31:31did uh you know I'm still doing leap
795. 31:34frogs and drop downs and drop kcks and
796. 31:37then you know and as I'm watching it
797. 31:39back and I go it doesn't work so I had
798. 31:42to kind of put my ego aside cuz like
799. 31:45like nobody my size was doing [ __ ] like
800. 31:48that right and then I had to
801. 31:50go it doesn't work it doesn't work so
802. 31:54you know then I had to you know then I
803. 31:55come up with this really really slow
804. 31:57pace where was methodical I was always
805. 32:00like that that that shark that had an
806. 32:03injured seal in the water right and I'm
807. 32:05just circling around and then I was like
808. 32:08but then there would be that instant
809. 32:10somewhere in there where I'd hit
810. 32:12something fast like you know everybody
811. 32:14would kind of get lulled into my pace
812. 32:15and then bam I hit do something fast
813. 32:17like the big flying clothes line or
814. 32:19whatever it was and then roll boom and
815. 32:21right back into the slow pace like
816. 32:23people like what the hell yeah what was
817. 32:26that what he he can't move you know so
818. 32:30it was those first few years that's what
819. 32:31I was doing is I was throwing stuff up
820. 32:33against the wall to see what's stuck and
821. 32:36um and it just resonated I think there's
822. 32:38everybody kind of has this little darker
823. 32:40side anyway that kind of either they
824. 32:42embrace it or they suppress it but it's
825. 32:45in there in everybody and I think people
826. 32:47it really resonated with people like you
827. 32:50know it's all right to be you know he's
828. 32:52a little different but you know it's
829. 32:54he's got some issues but he's got some
830. 32:56issues he's got some issues but he's got
831. 32:58yeah and funny enough
832. 33:01like so back in the day like coming out
833. 33:03of mad you've worked in the garden now
834. 33:05right well back you know back in the day
835. 33:08they didn't let us drive up and you know
836. 33:10get your get out of your cars and
837. 33:12everything we used to have to park
838. 33:13across the street in the parking lot and
839. 33:15then walk across all those people see
840. 33:17these are the moments that you're
841. 33:18talking about that he he goes under the
842. 33:21stadium and the Sprinter and people
843. 33:23carry them in exactly right dude the
844. 33:25yeah with the the big fans

847. 33:33yeah so we used to have to walk across
848. 33:35the street right and you know New
849. 33:37Yorkers too right they're just like get

853. 33:48even my street clothes although they
854. 33:50weren't the same as what I wore in the
855. 33:52ring they were dark like if it was
856. 33:54winter time I had a long black coat I

858. 33:58and it would be like it be like the Red
859. 34:01Sea partying with these people like they
860. 34:03didn't want they didn't want to mess
861. 34:04with me hey man you're you can say it
862. 34:06for me you're six you're 6 fo8 dude and
863. 34:09we don't know we don't know if you were
864. 34:11alive at the time and that's where I was
865. 34:13going with it that they were people
866. 34:14would ask is he alive or is he dead I'm
867. 34:17like are you [ __ ] kidding me dude
868. 34:18dude I was when I was a kid watching you
869. 34:21straight up I thought I thought he's
870. 34:22dead I don't know what I thought a
871. 34:25corpse or a zombie or something it it it
872. 34:28was it was so good and and and again the
873. 34:31eye roll the infamous Undertaker eye
874. 34:34roll how is that something CU like I
875. 34:36tried it I can't do it have you always
876. 34:38been able to roll your eyes like that no
877. 34:40I just did it I did it in a match it it
878. 34:42was totally by chance I think I was
879. 34:44working with uh I think I was working
880. 34:46with Greg Greg The Hammer Valentine and
881. 34:49I had him down in the corner and you
882. 34:50know my I think my hair and everything
883. 34:52was kind of getting my ass I kind of
884. 34:53slung my my head back and when I slung
885. 34:55my head back my eyes kind of rolled too
886. 34:57and I was like and I held them so I come
887. 35:00back to the gorilla position and
888. 35:01everybody's just flipping out like what
889. 35:03the hell was that with the eyes and I
890. 35:05was like I don't know man I just tried
891. 35:06what what it look like and they like you
892. 35:08know they're trying to play it back for
893. 35:09me look at this [ __ ] I was like oh
894. 35:11that's creepy dude that's yeah so the
895. 35:14eye roll and then the you know the
896. 35:15tongue deal it was just it all yeah I
897. 35:18mean and then and then another thing
898. 35:20that was just perfect one of the most
899. 35:22iconic pieces of The
900. 35:24Undertaker your music oh yeah the durge
901. 35:28yeah it was how Jim Johnston man he was
902. 35:32he was amazing he uh he sat down and you
903. 35:36know he would start composing and and
904. 35:38and then he'd bring me in and I was like
905. 35:42oh that's perfect man that is so good
906. 35:44yeah are you I mean this was Mike's
907. 35:46question I'll let you ask did you see ad
908. 35:49aagna walk out to yeah oh yeah what did
909. 35:52you think of it
910. 35:53yeah I mean for obviously for you know

925. 36:26pretty beat Perera I think so yeah yeah

940. 37:13Conneticut except except for for I had
941. 37:16one hat and one duster left that I wore
942. 37:19that night in in Saudi and then when it
943. 37:22was all over I found uh Prince tury I
944. 37:26said your Excellency these are yours so
945. 37:31I I gave them I gave them to Prince
946. 37:33turkey and so now I don't have them
947. 37:37anymore got nothing got a good a good
948. 37:39guy to gift stuff dud you get you get
949. 37:41Mark Callaway or you it's you know you
950. 37:44get the America more of American Badass
951. 37:46hybrid version you know I I'll dress in
952. 37:48black but I'm not I'm not putting the
953. 37:49hat and coat back on was was that
954. 37:512018 no more recently way more recently

964. 38:20some people in the
965. 38:21community rolling stone for example who
966. 38:24was a little bit critical of your
967. 38:26continu appearances in the in the space
968. 38:29as a as a vet who you would think would
969. 38:31be you know welcomed with open arms for
970. 38:35anytime he wants to make an appearance
971. 38:36in the in the in the organization that
972. 38:38he helped build did you feel a sense of
973. 38:40betrayal from the community for that for
974. 38:42that um acting no because see there's
975. 38:47not a bigger critic of me than myself
976. 38:49right and this is the first thing time
977. 38:53I've even heard about Rolling Stone so
978. 38:55oh good for bringing that up man well I
979. 38:58have to go to the bathro but I don't
980. 38:59yeah no I don't I don't R rolling is not
981. 39:02is not my rolling did you see any of the
982. 39:05no no I had I'm I'm I'm struggling on
983. 39:08the inside myself like I'm at that point
984. 39:11of my career I'm looking for one
985. 39:13match I knew I knew you were no I knew I
986. 39:17can tell you're dude you're backstage
987. 39:19and I can see you like itching and just
988. 39:22the length that you went this was
989. 39:24another line of questions I wanted to
990. 39:25ask didn't we have to there but do you
991. 39:28do do you mean one match to cap it is
992. 39:30that what you mean that's what I was
993. 39:31looking for yeah just just to just to
994. 39:33put the exclamation point on the career
995. 39:35like I wanted to have you know that one
996. 39:37match I could hang my hat on and say you
997. 39:40know and say goodbye because my body I
998. 39:43mean it it it was it was breaking down
999. 39:46at that point to to the point
1000. 39:48where you know I can't like I can walk
1001. 39:51and talk and I could I mean I could get
1002. 39:53out right now and I could do a match but
1003. 39:56you know it's not a match that that you
1004. 39:59as an Undertaker fan or an Undertaker
1005. 40:00fan is like Ah that's not my that's you
1006. 40:02know they they may give me the benefit
1007. 40:04of the doubt because I've got all that
1008. 40:06Equity built up in all those years but
1009. 40:08you don't want that but I don't want
1010. 40:09that I don't want to that was one of the
1011. 40:11big things that that I was trying to
1012. 40:12fight against and was why it made it so
1013. 40:14hard is like I did not want to become a
1014. 40:16parody of myself like I had too much
1015. 40:19pride in in in what I accomplished and
1016. 40:22what i' done through the years but I
1017. 40:25also I wanted to have that one match
1018. 40:27where I could hang my hat on it and say
1019. 40:31you know I could put my six shooters up
1020. 40:33on The Mantel and say see you it's I can
1021. 40:36understand it's something you want but I
1022. 40:39think moments might be equally as
1023. 40:41valuable the moment you had at
1024. 40:43Wrestlemania
1025. 40:4540 I don't know if I've ever heard a pop
1026. 40:47that big in my life it was I mean that
1027. 40:50was fun and and that
1028. 40:53really that helped me actually a a lot
1029. 40:56because um like personally yeah
1030. 40:58personally like cuz I was still you even
1031. 41:01to then I was still struggling like I
1032. 41:03would I will come to the shows and I
1033. 41:04will say h and and and and you know and
1034. 41:07I'll talk to some of the guys and maybe
1035. 41:09watch a couple of the matches but then I
1036. 41:11got to leave CU still my my body and and
1037. 41:15my mindset is like dude you should be
1038. 41:16getting ready right now D oh man cuz you
1039. 41:19should be going out in a in in a little
1040. 41:21bit and and especially at Mania because
1041. 41:24I my my history with Mania is of course
1042. 41:27what it is of course but you know so i'
1043. 41:30I'd have to leave because I just like I
1044. 41:32get you know not depression but it's
1045. 41:35just like I feel that that need that I
1046. 41:37need to be getting ready to go out and
1047. 41:39and perform and wanted to perform and
1048. 41:41especially at Mania I mean that's just
1049. 41:43that's just a whole another level of of
1050. 41:46you know when you being on the you know
1051. 41:48on the card at Mania is just is awesome
1052. 41:51but yeah those last few years like I'm
1053. 41:53I'm I'm battling Father Time who's
1054. 41:56undefeated uh um you know I've got I've
1055. 41:59got injuries that that need to you know
1056. 42:02knees need to be replaced my back's you
1057. 42:05know got issues but that that that one
1058. 42:08part that part in your head that that's
1059. 42:11got you this far says you know you still
1060. 42:13got one in you somewhere you know you
1061. 42:16got one you got one match that people
1062. 42:17are going to go wow and do you think
1063. 42:20it's
1064. 42:21true
1065. 42:22um I don't know I I I think I took it I
1066. 42:26I I think I took my to the limits of of
1067. 42:28of what it could do cuz now you know
1068. 42:30like when I the last few things that I
1069. 42:32did like I've always picked my stuff
1070. 42:35apart like you know they just like ah
1071. 42:37man I wish I had done that differently
1072. 42:39you watch back film oh yeah oh yeah and
1073. 42:41I I never watch with anybody I have to
1074. 42:43be by myself because I don't want to
1075. 42:45hear anybody saying oh [ __ ] that was
1076. 42:46great that was good I want to because
1077. 42:48I'm looking for the I'm looking for the
1078. 42:50things that I do and the Transitions and
1079. 42:52and and and the little things that that
1080. 42:55people that they don't necessarily pick
1081. 42:57up while they're watching it but make
1082. 42:58everything make sense right and so I
1083. 43:02would I would just pick everything apart
1084. 43:05and um I could tell like my body was my
1085. 43:09body was getting stiff and like there
1086. 43:12wasn't you know like the like man it was
1087. 43:16horrible um the match that I had with
1088. 43:18Goldberg uh in Saudi Arabia you know
1089. 43:23there was never a time in my career
1090. 43:25where I didn't
1091. 43:28feel like no matter what happened that I
1092. 43:30couldn't figure out a way to make it all
1093. 43:33work and make it make sense get it back
1094. 43:35on track and still have you know have a
1095. 43:38decent match and you know he got
1096. 43:41concussed early on it's 98 degrees at at
1097. 43:45midnight in the desert and uh you know
1098. 43:50it was just like it was just like a
1099. 43:51train wreck and and the more I tried to
1100. 43:54to fix it the worse it got and you know
1101. 43:57know but I'm not pointing I'm not
1102. 43:58pointing fingers it's just one of those
1103. 44:00things that happened where like I just
1104. 44:02didn't have it in me physically anymore
1105. 44:05to make things right and so you know so
1106. 44:08I'm getting you know I'm getting all
1107. 44:10that right I'm getting all all that and
1108. 44:12then and like I said I'm my worst critic
1109. 44:14but I still feel like you know if I can
1110. 44:17get there's that one person somewhere
1111. 44:18that I can have you know and I'm not
1112. 44:20looking for anybody that's going to say
1113. 44:22well that could carry me CU that that
1114. 44:24would kill me if I felt like I was being
1115. 44:26carried through
1116. 44:27so does does that feel like a did you
1117. 44:30see the wrestler with Mickey oror I
1118. 44:32would assume I'm sure has meaning too AB
1119. 44:35some form and you know obviously for
1120. 44:37like a a guy like that who's still
1121. 44:39wrestling in or at the time wrestling in
1122. 44:41back rooms he's looking for another you
1123. 44:43know chance to kind of have that moment
1124. 44:45but he's putting it all on the line his
1125. 44:47life at I mean at the end we don't
1126. 44:48really know exactly what happened um but
1127. 44:51do you feel do you ever feel
1128. 44:54like do you ever feel like maybe that
1129. 44:57moment has already happened oh no I'm
1130. 44:59done brother yeah it's it's no yeah it's
1131. 45:03all over now I don't know if you really

1136. 45:15with AJ Styles we did that cinematic
1137. 45:18deal uh which for us we got lucky cuz
1138. 45:21that you know that was right in the
1139. 45:22middle of Co and um we got to go offsite
1140. 45:26and do something different which was fun
1141. 45:29and then I I think we delivered on it
1142. 45:31was it a was it a traditional wrestling
1143. 45:34match like we had planned absolutely not
1144. 45:37um but I was I was like okay I think
1145. 45:40this is you know we started shooting
1146. 45:43that thing at like 8:00 at night we
1147. 45:45wrapped at at
1148. 45:48Sunrise uh putting that thing together
1149. 45:50and it's at about 4:00 A.M when it
1150. 45:53really Dawns on me like dude you're done
1151. 45:57you know it's it's over well look like I
1152. 45:59said I mean for me at least um my
1153. 46:03mentality something that's very
1154. 46:04important to me even just the way I
1155. 46:05build my businesses are moments at least
1156. 46:08in the WWE I try to get those that those
1157. 46:10that one moment that people will be like
1158. 46:12do you remember the midair Collision
1159. 46:14right and like for me uh now as like a
1160. 46:18like really invested wrestling fan like
1161. 46:21I said you coming back at Wrestlemania
1162. 46:2340 to choke slam the
1163. 46:25rock have me feeling like a CH like a
1164. 46:28kid again I don't know if you seen the
1165. 46:30video of me reacting but man you have
1166. 46:33what 70 80,000 people in the in the
1167. 46:36stadium all reacting the same way and
1168. 46:38that's the moment like you're good man
1169. 46:40you're no but that's yeah but that's not
1170. 46:42going to be the one that he's got
1171. 46:44moments like yeah no that was fun and
1172. 46:46and it was but you said it did something
1173. 46:48for you like I know you yeah it it was
1174. 46:50just it kind of gave me the that that
1175. 46:52closure like you know what I still got
1176. 46:54it I still got it I do this sh you yeah
1177. 46:57but I don't want to now right you you
1178. 46:59know I'm I'm I'm good and it was the it
1179. 47:02was just the you know the right group of
1180. 47:03people two that had happened with and uh
1181. 47:07you know funny enough I'm I'm up you
1182. 47:09know I don't know if you've heard the
1183. 47:11story but you know they had called me
1184. 47:12earlier in the week and mentioned that
1185. 47:14they might want to do something oh wow
1186. 47:17yeah Paul calls me on a Tuesday Qui
1187. 47:20Tuesday oh my God and drops the seed I
1188. 47:23was like all right man let me know I'm
1189. 47:25GNA be there
1190. 47:27so I'm up in the suite chilling with my
1191. 47:29family right friends which I've never
1192. 47:30been able to do in all these years and
1193. 47:33I'm sitting there I feel my foone
1194. 47:35buzzing in my back pocket get it
1195. 47:39out where it go I'll be back in a minute
1196. 47:44wait that casual yeah I told my wife I
1197. 47:46was like I'll be back in a minute and
1198. 47:48she she knew but nobody else in the
1199. 47:50suite had a clue that's insane yeah I
1200. 47:53kabed everybody my God I I I have ask
1201. 47:57what do you do under the ring when
1202. 47:59you're just sitting there or is that not
1203. 48:00where you come from where do you come
1204. 48:01from that night no I had to I had run
1205. 48:05from the other end of the stadium I saw
1206. 48:07it yeah but you're but you're under the
1207. 48:08ring for like 30 minutes no no no not
1208. 48:10that not not at Mania how'd you get oh
1209. 48:12you ran in when the lights were off when
1210. 48:14the lights no so they all the Finish
1211. 48:18while all these people were coming in
1212. 48:19you know they brought me in uh from the
1213. 48:23far end of the stadium and then behind
1214. 48:26hard camera
1215. 48:27they had a little place set there so I
1216. 48:29staged right there and then I think when
1217. 48:32Seth went I edged up a little bit closer
1218. 48:35Hood it Hood it up yeah yeah yeah and
1219. 48:37then uh and then when it was my turn
1220. 48:40they went black I said oh man knees
1221. 48:42don't fail me now brother cuz I'm
1222. 48:45working on brand new
1223. 48:46knees and then it was such a perfect J
1224. 48:49like it was uh yeah so it it was fun and
1225. 48:53I go back up and everybody in the sweets
1226. 48:56like what the hell what are you doing
1227. 48:58you didn't tell us no so but yeah they
1228. 49:01they I got I cut a lot of [ __ ] for that
1229. 49:03but uh they you know it's like it was
1230. 49:05more fun right it was more fun that you
1231. 49:07didn't know like if I have told you yeah
1232. 49:09it wouldn't have been as fun it it
1233. 49:11wouldn't have been as fun no it was
1234. 49:12insane but and and we don't like to do
1235. 49:14superlatives on this go for it go I I
1236. 49:16just want to ask about a couple more
1237. 49:18moments a couple more of his iconic
1238. 49:20moment no that's where I was going I was
1239. 49:21just oh specific ones go ahead yeah when
1240. 49:25you threw mankind off the top of the
1241. 49:27cell did you think you killed him dude
1242. 49:31look I did I did so truth be told I
1243. 49:33didn't want to do it like I said like
1244. 49:36Mick to this is craziness right like I
1245. 49:41said here's the and here's the his
1246. 49:44mindset was that the first the first
1247. 49:47Hell in the Cell was in 97 Bad Blood me
1248. 49:50and Shawn Michaels and it was [ __ ]
1249. 49:52good I mean and I don't I don't usually
1250. 49:54put my stuff over but it was good Shawn
1251. 49:56Mich could to have a five-star match
1252. 49:57with a
1253. 49:58broomstick okay I mean that's just how
1254. 50:00good he that's how good he is or was or
1255. 50:03whatever so we have this killer Hell in
1256. 50:07the Cell match and that was Kane's debut
1257. 50:09and all that right so we get so it's now
1258. 50:13it's a few years later and and Mick
1259. 50:15keeps looking back at that and he's like
1260. 50:16there's no way that we can have that
1261. 50:18kind of match and I'm like Mick we can
1262. 50:20do it just you know and so he he had in
1263. 50:23his mind like he needed to do something
1264. 50:25that would fool the people into thinking
1265. 50:27that they had seen something right so
1266. 50:30he's he's on me week after week he's
1267. 50:32like I think I think I can do it you
1268. 50:34know you throw me off the top and I'm
1269. 50:36like Mick I'm not throwing you off the
1270. 50:38[ __ ] top it's murder yeah I don't care
1271. 50:40I'm not I'm not throwing you off the top
1272. 50:42right so it gets to be like the day of
1273. 50:46and uh still like i' I've got a hard no
1274. 50:49on it and then he goes and gets in in
1275. 50:51the old man's ear right so then they
1276. 50:53come and they they double team me oh
1277. 50:56yeah he says he can do it and I'm like
1278. 50:59[ __ ] you there's no we don't need to do
1279. 51:01it I said fine all right you want to get
1280. 51:04thrown off the top fine I'll throw you
1281. 51:05off the top there you happy he's I've
1282. 51:08been you know and he he had told me like
1283. 51:10I I've been up there I could see he
1284. 51:13never went to the top he never went to
1285. 51:15the top of the cell he never looked at
1286. 51:16it to see what it looked like and there
1287. 51:18we are and like you
1288. 51:21ready
1289. 51:23bye and then you know people think I'm
1290. 51:26full of [ __ ] when I say this like this
1291. 51:28is the one time that I in my life that I
1292. 51:30had a total Out of Body Experience cuz I
1293. 51:33let L I let him go and I can see myself
1294. 51:36standing there and I can also see him
1295. 51:39falling which seemed like it took 20
1296. 51:41seconds for him to hit that table right
1297. 51:44and I'm just and then he hits and then
1298. 51:47the way he was hit with so much force
1299. 51:50that he hit and then he slid under the
1300. 51:52the railing that was there right and
1301. 51:54he's I don't know that he could move I'm
1302. 51:56just waiting like I'm just looking at
1303. 51:58him like [ __ ] come on Mick move I just
1304. 52:00killed a man yeah yeah exactly I'm like
1305. 52:03I what I'm going to go down and history
1306. 52:04for I killed Mick Foley and I'm just
1307. 52:07thinking like Mick just move I'm saying
1308. 52:09this in my head and I have I'm oblivious
1309. 52:11to the fact that they've raise the cage
1310. 52:13and I'm standing on top of it and I'm
1311. 52:16just like okay Miss just move finally he
1312. 52:18starts stirring you know and I think
1313. 52:20somebody might have turned and gave me a
1314. 52:22you know like yeah he's okay and I'm
1315. 52:25think wow okay that's over with yeah
1316. 52:27that some [ __ ] gets by you he starts
1317. 52:30climbing back up you know I'm like oh
1318. 52:33[ __ ] man [ __ ] doesn't die this
1319. 52:35guy wants to die
1320. 52:38so little did we know that that was
1321. 52:41going to be the easiest part of his
1322. 52:43night cuz the when I choke slammed him
1323. 52:46through the top dude
1324. 52:48dude you didn't expect that that break
1325. 52:51like that no no no no that's that's
1326. 52:53that's
1327. 52:53horrifying he out through it
1328. 52:57the top of the cell yeah he rotates
1329. 52:59another couple inches dude he don't get
1330. 53:02up this business is crazy it is crazy
1331. 53:06and crazy yeah he goes through and so
1332. 53:10we're walking up on that mesh and you
1333. 53:12can hear like the the brackets that they
1334. 53:15had they're popping off
1335. 53:18like like me and Sean weren't that heavy
1336. 53:20I guess but you know Mick was a heavy I
1337. 53:22don't know what they did differently but
1338. 53:24it's like and you could see you my foot
1339. 53:28I'd step and it would just keep going
1340. 53:29down and like what was what was supposed
1341. 53:33to happen is we hit that panel and it
1342. 53:36was supposed to kind of give way in a
1343. 53:38corner and we were going to cuz I had a
1344. 53:41broken ankle going into the match
1345. 53:44so we were going to we were going to go
1346. 53:47we were going to kind of slide down one
1347. 53:49of the panels and then get back into the
1348. 53:52ring and finish the match but I'm I'm I
1349. 53:55I can tell like this thing is not going
1350. 53:57to hold so at the last second I get off
1351. 54:00of the mesh and I stand on the Barra on
1352. 54:02the on the poles you said [ __ ] this yeah
1353. 54:04hell with that brother and man when I
1354. 54:08chok he just never stopped man he hit
1355. 54:10that thing and that thing popped all the
1356. 54:11way open and then the the chair yeah
1357. 54:15that was on top come down hits him in
1358. 54:16the face
1359. 54:18too big he's he's crazy dud he is he he
1360. 54:23is he a sweetheart of a man but man he
1361. 54:25took some took some damage uh yeah he's
1362. 54:28missing an ear he's he did lose an ear
1363. 54:31lost an ear wrestling I was 13 for that
1364. 54:34Hell in a Cell in '98 I watched that
1365. 54:37live and it was one of the craziest
1366. 54:40things I've ever seen in my entire life
1367. 54:41it absolutely insan when you when you
1368. 54:43look at that
1369. 54:45moment was that you said it was the only
1370. 54:48time you've had this out of- body
1371. 54:49experience was that to you the standout
1372. 54:52moment was that the the biggest moment
1373. 54:53of your career or was it a Shawn Michael
1374. 54:56you know WrestleMania or was it a you
1375. 54:58know I think at that point I I you know
1376. 55:00I mean I by this time I I'd won the
1377. 55:04title um which was a big moment but I
1378. 55:08mean in retrospect I mean that people
1379. 55:11still talk about that for sure to this
1380. 55:14day I mean it's been what 25 how you
1381. 55:17however long ago it's been now 27 yeah I
1382. 55:20mean people will still stop me on the
1383. 55:21street like man that time you choke slam
1384. 55:24you know Mick
1385. 55:26you know the one one of the weird things
1386. 55:29about that I really remember is like
1387. 55:31after he got his faculties back again
1388. 55:35you know I'm like Mick let's let's go
1389. 55:38home yeah you know and he's like no no
1390. 55:39no we got to he had to get to the tax
1391. 55:42that's how he thinks this is how he
1392. 55:44thinks right we got to get to the
1393. 55:47tax you were good I have thrown you off
1394. 55:50of this thing I've thrown you through it
1395. 55:53I said I don't think they care about the
1396. 55:55we got to get to the tax right and the
1397. 55:56whole time I'm like you know I'm looking
1398. 55:58at him this kind of gross but like he's
1399. 56:01got this huge booger what I think is a
1400. 56:04booger in his nostril right and it's
1401. 56:06weird like the things you pick up in the
1402. 56:08course of a match well come to find out
1403. 56:10it's not a booger it's his
1404. 56:11tooth what in his nose yeah it went
1405. 56:15through when he when he went when he
1406. 56:17landed his inzer went through his lip
1407. 56:22and lodged in his nose oh my and it's
1408. 56:26stuff like that you said like dude you
1409. 56:28got you know like you know you got you
1410. 56:31got a big booger in you know would you
1411. 56:32wipe your nose or something like that
1412. 56:34and you know I'm hit I'm looking at [ __ ]
1413. 56:37last last night they were looking at him
1414. 56:39they're like are you okay he like he's
1415. 56:41like yes you know hurt my face a little
1416. 56:43bit this dude had a tooth in his nose
1417. 56:45and he was still wrestling dude sport
1418. 56:48has changed changed his tooth he gets
1419. 56:51his tooth out and he hands it to the ref
1420. 56:53they said hold that for me hold that y
1421. 56:55can I get that
1422. 56:56that's crazy he was tough man he he
1423. 57:00bless his heart he he is a sweetheart of
1424. 57:02a human being man I don't know if y'all
1425. 57:03been around him much but i' I've seen
1426. 57:05the documentaries it it to me it doesn't
1427. 57:07make sense that how that person is
1428. 57:10capable of doing the the damage to his
1429. 57:13body and and and like he likes it yeah I
1430. 57:16think you know that was kind of what he
1431. 57:17felt his Niche was that was his uh what
1432. 57:20would separate him from everybody else
1433. 57:22which it did um you know and I'm kind of
1434. 57:25like the
1435. 57:26the the recipient of of of his lunacy
1436. 57:30yeah you know like I said I didn't I
1437. 57:32didn't want any part of it I didn't you
1438. 57:34know I was like I don't think we need to
1439. 57:35do it but we didn't even talk about the
1440. 57:37stre I know you have an 11 out we didn't
1441. 57:39even talk about the streak at all he's
1442. 57:40got to go things we missed that the WWE
1443. 57:42fans are going to re us for but I just
1444. 57:44want to mention just so they know we
1445. 57:45were gonna because we could have a
1446. 57:474-Hour podcast on this obviously Kane
