0:00Hey guys, Gassy TV here with a rather
0:02special video and a bit of a video
0:04series / project that I'm working on.
0:07Essentially, I'm in the process of going
0:09through every single league mechanic
0:11that the game has to offer and then I'm
0:14going to go through the low-budget way
0:16of farming that, little bit of juicing
0:18of medium levels of investments and of
0:21course high budget super high juicing
0:23meta investment farming strategies. I've
0:26spent the last few days focusing my
0:28efforts on expedition. There's a lot to
0:30cover from this mechanic, but I will
0:32start off by saying that you can find up
0:34to 10 Rune Remnants and even more that
0:38provides the extremely valuable Ol Dor's
0:40Legacy, which is currently going for
0:43just under 300 Divine Orbs. And the
0:46other options that are valuable from
0:48this 10 Rune Remnants are actually boons
0:50that give your character a permanent
0:52bonus similar to the campaign objectives
0:55and bosses and you can get plus 10 to
0:58maximum spirit. There's one with maximum
1:00life and mana. Hell, even one with extra
1:02skill points to use in your passive
1:04tree, not to mention tons upon tons of
1:07currency farming this mechanic. The
1:09context of what I've been doing is to
1:11run exclusively tier 15 and tier 16 maps
1:15on this entire test run. They've all
1:18been fully modded by making them rarer
1:20than using an Exalted Orb to then smack
1:23up to the maximum amount of modifiers
1:25and then I've even corrupted them in
1:27hopes of turning them into a tier 16.
1:30After this, I've used the tier 15 maps
1:32for the regular maps and the 16s I've
1:35exclusively used for every single Grand
1:37Expedition during this testing.
1:40The focus of this video will be about
1:41the Grand Expeditions themselves with
1:43some tips and tricks for expedition
1:45encounters in regular maps. If you like

2:01In regular maps, you'll encounter
2:03expeditions, which normally has a couple
2:05of remnant nodes and some clusters of
2:08red flags. The most important thing to
2:10consider here is whether or not the
2:12rewards from the remnants are worth
2:14picking up. Things like Celestial
2:16Alloys, Uthred's Saga, or if you're
2:19lucky, Elder Saga, are worthwhile to
2:21pick up and of course any and all
2:23high-valued currency orbs. The red flags
2:26are rather important to not neglect if
2:28the rewards from the remnants are
2:30disappointing, as they have an increased
2:32chance of dropping the actual logbooks
2:34used to explore the ocean. And they're
2:36worth about a divine orb each right now,
2:38a little bit less. And the ones with two
2:40flags have an even higher chance of
2:42dropping logbooks. In the descriptions
2:45below this video, you will find two
2:47expedition cheats. One of these will
2:49show you the outcomes of rumors, which
2:51is very important when it comes to
2:53picking what areas are better or worse
2:56to use your logbooks on.
2:58For example, if you have the rumor
2:59Fallen Stars, this will guarantee the
3:02unique Mor map, which is more or less
3:05guaranteeing you to get an Elder Saga as
3:08an option. This can be taken a step
3:10further by utilizing a Visions of
3:12Paradise Irradiated Unique Tablet. This
3:15will turn the map itself irradiated
3:18after completing it instead of actually
3:20completing it, which allows you to run
3:22the map a second time, giving you
3:25literally two Elder Saga, which are
3:27very, very, very valuable. We're even
3:29going to be using this Elder Saga in the
3:32high-budget investment of this video.
3:34Normally, the boss providing rumors are
3:36not very valuable. Uthred coming from
3:39the Star Drinker rumor or just the
3:41Uthred Saga is pretty decent value,
3:43though. The main thing to consider when
3:45using a logbook is to have as many
3:47rumors as possible. But we only see
3:50three rumors on the Atlas at a time.
3:52Now, there's a neat trick to check if
3:54there's more rumors there. What you'll
3:56be doing is you'll hover over an area
3:59and you'll see in this case, I have warm
4:01but risky, nothing to drink,
4:05and sulphites in this specific zone.
4:09Now, if I move an item, in this case, I
4:13just picked an Elder Saga up and down,
4:15doesn't matter, then hover over it
4:17again.
4:18It says warm but risky, sulphite, and
4:21nothing to drink. In this case, it said
4:23sulphite in the middle. I move it again,
4:26and as you can see, it shifts places.
4:28Now, it says warm but risky, nothing to
4:30drink, and sulphite. I can do it again,
4:33and I can see that it's still these
4:34three. This tells me that there should
4:36only be three rumors here because they
4:38shift positions.
4:40However, if I check in this one that
4:42says star drinker,
4:44sulphites, and warm but risky, and then
4:48move an Elder Saga or any item in my
4:50inventory, doesn't matter, I hover over
4:52it, and now, what it says is something
4:54fishy, warm, and sulphite.
4:57As you can say see here, the star
4:59drinker is a rumor on this one, but it's
5:01it's a fourth rumor in this case. There
5:03is now a something fishy. And I can add
5:06this to my little check here, and then I
5:08can move an item again, and I see that
5:10now I have star drinker, warm but risky,
5:12sulphite. I already know that those
5:14three are there. I also know that
5:15something fishy is there, which is kind
5:17of fishy. I moved it again, and now I
5:20can see that there's a fifth rumor in
5:21here saying bleak and awful. Since
5:24there's five rumors, out of four of
5:26which is not a boss, but one is, so this
5:28is what I would consider a four rumor
5:31area. This would be a great opportunity
5:33for me to use an Elder Saga on as an
5:35example. But if you're not going to do
5:37the Elder Saga super juicy, this is a
5:39good rumor island rumor to pop because
5:42there will be quite a few maps in this.
5:44So, I'm going to pop this one open so
5:45you guys can see how that looks. As you
5:48can see, I got tons of maps and out of
5:50this I have the map boss here, the
5:51secluded temple. I got one I got two
5:54bosses actually. Uh one uh two three and
5:58four grand expeditions. Now I did this
6:00with an older saga so I can double check
6:03if they got if I got any juicy ones and
6:05it looks like I got two decent I got two
6:08decent ones and two half ass ones. This
6:11wasn't a great one but I have four grand
6:14expeditions as a result of this that I
6:16used and that was because it was five
6:17rumors out of which one was a boss and
6:20you can again double check this by
6:21simply just moving an item in your
6:23inventory. It can even be in the same
6:25position to check for the rumors.
6:28Obviously going for remnants is an
6:29expected approach but currency providing
6:31icons on the maps can be very good
6:33especially if they are of the more
6:35bright and filled in yellow color as
6:38they have an increased amount of loot
6:39compared to the usual ones. Thanks to
6:41the expedition atlas tree node, the
6:43quest continues. Grand expeditions gain
6:46an extra area level. This combined with
6:49an irradiated tablets and a tier 16 map
6:52makes the area level 82. Combine this
6:55with a Jado spy craft node keen
6:57appraisal allows you to have an
6:59increased drop chance of exceptional
7:01items that can have an up to extra
7:03socket and finding that on good bases
7:05can be worth a stupid amount of
7:07currency. Speaking of Jado, the atlas
7:09master, the other nodes I like to run
7:11with are unexpected missions providing
7:14extra juice from corrupted maps. Eastern
7:16knowledge giving the remnants we get a
7:18chance to be of better value. Partial
7:21translations to further benefit from
7:22whichever tablets I use and of course
7:25keen appraisal as mentioned earlier for
7:27better bases. Now with the context
7:29explained out of the way, let's start
7:30off by diving into the zero budget
7:33investment approach to farming the
7:34expedition mechanic. The focus here is
7:36as mentioned earlier that every time you
7:38run a map that is not a grand expedition
7:41that you put effort into hunting down
7:42those flags for increased chance of
7:44dropping logbooks, of course, unless the
7:46remnants have a worthwhile reward to
7:48take. We will simply not use any sagas.
7:51Instead, we'll be selling these and use
7:53the logbooks ourselves on areas that
7:55have at least three rumors, as explained
7:57earlier in this video. Most important
7:59one is the Fallen Stars rumor. If you
8:02get that, you should make sure to get
8:04yourself a Visions of Paradise tablet.
8:06When you run that, you get twice the
8:08value out of it. Let's talk about
8:10juicing up your maps a bit without
8:12breaking any banks. Now, we essentially
8:14do exactly the same as in the lower
8:16budget approach, but we will now include
8:19tablets in our gameplay. For maps that
8:21are not grand expeditions, you can
8:23simply run whichever league mechanic you
8:25enjoy the most or if you have a uh a
8:27non-grand expedition farming strat that
8:29you like.
8:30I personally like to just throw in three
8:32random breach tablets so I can get some
8:34hive blood to craft some juicy minion
8:35gear from the Genesis tree. However, for
8:38the grand expedition maps, there is a
8:39little bit more to it. Tablets will
8:41simply not add any league content to the
8:44maps except for the irradiated tablets,
8:46which will increase the level of the
8:48area by one level.
8:50This does not stack, so using one of
8:52those is always a good call, while the
8:54remaining two tablets can literally be
8:56of any kind.
8:58Modifier-wise, the only modifiers I'd
9:00consider to be valuable here would be
9:01the increased item rarity and monster
9:04effectiveness.
9:05So, for this budget approach of farming,
9:07I'd try to get one of those modifiers on
9:09each of your tablet, while one of the
9:11tablets is an irradiated tablet, just to
9:13keep the cost down.
9:15Rest of the farming strategy is the
9:16exact same as the previous budget
9:18approach. For the grand expeditions, we
9:21are obviously always taking good value
9:23rewards from the remnants. When the
9:24rewards are not good, you have two
9:26options. One, which is with the
9:29expedition Atlas node Feeling Lucky,
9:31Alva will actually sell you liquid
9:33Veridian, which can be used on the
9:35remnants to reroll the available option,
9:38but this does cost you some Veridian to
9:40do and the new random option doesn't let
9:43you pick which reward you'll get as it's
9:45completely random. The second option is
9:47that you pick whichever reward has the
9:49best rune that follows the chain. It
9:52seems like a lot of people have missed
9:53how these runes operate, so let me break
9:55it down for you. So, in this expedition
9:58we're going to be running here is all
10:00Veridian remnants have at least five
10:01rune slots. This is an older saga pop
10:03one by the way. Runes lost to duplicated
10:05and excavated chests have a chance to
10:07contain twice as many items. So, the
10:11thing we're going to be looking at when
10:12we do this is quite simple. We are going
10:15to be looking at the rewards from the
10:17remnants and then we're going to see if
10:19there's anything we want. If there's
10:20nothing we want from there,
10:22then we're going to be looking at runes
10:24that are good that follows the chain.
10:25I'm going to try to explain that in a
10:27better way and visualize this for you
10:28guys. So, as you can see up here we have
10:31one that has five rune slots.
10:33You see how one of the its rune slots
10:35has this golden frame around it with
10:37three little spikes above it?
10:40That is a rune that will follow the
10:41chain. So, if I hover over this one,
10:43it's going to tell me that the runic
10:45modifier in this slot will be added to
10:47all monsters unearthed after this
10:50remnant.
10:51This is a modifier that applies to the
10:53monsters, so they don't stack or
10:55shouldn't stack rather.
10:57And this means that if I choose
10:58whichever recipe this is, then all of
11:00the enemies here will have this
11:01modifier. So, then we open this up, you
11:04can see here on this menu that these
11:06runes are all prismatic runes because it
11:09seems like that in this case it is
11:10actually stuck here. So, the first thing
11:12we're going to do is check if any of
11:14these rewards are worth bothering.
11:15Master work runes, perfect jewels, it's
11:17a little bit of exalted for this, but
11:19since this rune is now going to apply to
11:22every explosion in the chain, if I look
11:24at the map I can see that it's very
11:26likely that we're going to go north
11:28before we go down to the southern ones.
11:30Instead of doing this, I then have the
11:32choice to click on the liquid Veridian.
11:34This is obviously a payment involved if
11:36I click on this one. What's going to
11:38happen is I'm going to reroll randomly
11:40the new runes. I can't choose the recipe
11:42now. It is random. And what I ended up
11:45is getting a cold rune
11:47with a time rune, tempest rune. So I got
11:50this one. I'm going to get the Lady
11:51Astra's rune a winter and a cold rune
11:54meaning all enemies will do extra cold
11:55damage. That's just a randomized outcome
11:57of rerolling it. And that's the reason
12:00we took that was because the rewards
12:01themselves was not very great and the uh
12:04the rune I could pick was not very good
12:06good. So then I can then just yolo it
12:08and take it from there. In here, we have
12:10a bone rune. Now bone rune is actually
12:13not bad. Bone rune is pretty decent. So
12:15what this does is that rare monsters may
12:17transfer a mod on death, which is
12:18fantastic to make enemies harder and
12:20more rewarding. It also gets increased
12:22chance to spawn rare monsters and rare
12:24monsters have more monster modifiers.
12:26This is a great rune. So in here, I'm
12:28not going to reroll this and I I don't
12:30know which one of these are worth the
12:31most. They're probably all [ __ ] So as
12:33you can see, there's another marker here
12:35with a golden border, which means two
12:36modifiers will follow. So because this
12:38one's already showing, that means all of
12:40these will be bone runes and I can then
12:42check here on the right that that's a
12:43death rune, which is a yet another
12:45really good rune. Electrocution,
12:47prismatic, and volcanic are all pretty
12:48ass. So by taking this one, I'm then
12:50guaranteeing the bone and death rune are
12:52here and now I'm very incentivized to
12:54start from this area and go up here to
12:57pick this up very early cuz I already
12:59have access to a bone rune and a death
13:00rune, which are very very good. Then
13:02we're going to check the next part of
13:03this. Then we see that there's only one
13:05a marker here. We see that there's a
13:06rebirth rune is actually not bad and is
13:09another rebirth rune and that's it. So
13:11because rebirth rune is good because it
13:13gets chance of rebirth on death, I'm
13:15just straight up going to take that. So
13:16I'll take the rebirth rune and then
13:18we're going to move on. You can also see
13:19here that there's a golden shiny
13:21currency uh spot there, which means that
13:23size of higher higher amount of currency
13:25providing. Then then we have oh, ooh,
13:28three perfect exalted orbs. So, this is
13:30a great example of the rune being
13:32absolute ass, but the reward being good,
13:34so you don't care about the rune. You're
13:36just going to take the reward cuz that's
13:37like what seven divines to something.
13:39So, we're just going to take that.
13:40That's just money straight off the bat.
13:42In here, we have volcanic momentum,
13:43volcanic momentum. Okay, so this one has
13:45bad
13:46rewards, and it also has bad runes. So,
13:48we're going to use a liquid viridium. I
13:50ended up with a toxic rune. That's
13:51pretty ass. This one doesn't really
13:53matter. And then, we are going to go
13:56over here. What do we have here? We have
13:58a sky rune that's locked in place, but
14:00nothing else. So, that's pretty bad. So,
14:02in this case, I will be rerolling that.
14:05And we ended up getting a momentum rune.
14:07The reward's pretty ass, so that doesn't
14:08really matter. Over here, we have a
14:11power rune. Power rune doesn't really
14:13matter that much, but what we can do
14:15here is
14:16This is 3 6. Okay, this could have had
14:21older's legacy, but it didn't, which is
14:23really sad. So, then we have a couple
14:24choices. You can either take one of
14:26these,
14:27or you will simply go for rerolling it.
14:30I actually don't remember which one of
14:31these are worth money. Uh so,
14:34no, passion older is not that good, is
14:36it? You know what? We're going to yolo
14:38reroll it cuz I don't care about a power
14:40rune, do I? Do I care about a power
14:42rune? You know what? Yolo. We're just
14:43going to take one. It doesn't really
14:44matter. Ooh, here's a big one. In here,
14:47we have catless gloom, which is not
14:49worth too much money, but it's a little
14:51bit. We have a time rune here, and we
14:53have a bond rune. Then, I can
14:55double-check if I If you really want to
14:57min-max the outcome of this, then you
14:59double-check. That was time and bond. I
15:01know I had a death and something up
15:02here.
15:03Forgot what it was. I had bond and death
15:07rune that are following. So, since I
15:08have bond and death, then I can make
15:10sure I get my time rune down there,
15:12which is a very good outcome in the
15:15chain of explosions to get as much value
15:17out of this possible. So, I'm just going
15:19to take this Uh, just mainly for the
15:21rune itself. In here, we have prismatic
15:23alloy rebirth rune. We already have
15:25rebirth. We don't have an opulent, which
15:27is a bit of a shame. So, in this case,
15:29I'm just going to yolo reroll this or
15:30take the rare unique. I'm just going to
15:32yolo reroll. I ended up with a
15:33protective rune and absolute dog [ __ ]
15:35loot. We'll do the same procedure here.
15:37We have rage rune ward rune. I'm going
15:39to reroll it. We got an oath rune, not
15:41that it matters. Pretty bad. And then I
15:43think we have three to go, right? Uh,
15:45masterwork rune, time rune, death rune.
15:49I'm going to reroll this cuz we already
15:50have the runes and we ended up with
15:52wisdom and a rebirth rune, which means
15:54we did get a masterwork rune. That's
15:56pretty decent. In here, we have a death
15:59rune. We already have a death rune cuz
16:00we're already going top side first. Five
16:03ran, no, we missed that. We get the
16:04spirit gem, which is about 30 occultist,
16:07I think. And then we have Urthrun saga.
16:10It's good money here. Now, older saga is
16:13a celestial rune, time rune. It doesn't
16:16really matter. We're just going to pick
16:17up the Urthrun saga for the money. And
16:18now we're just going to tr- create our
16:20explosions. Don't explain this. We have
16:2215 to go, so we're going to go all the
16:24way here. We're going to pick this up to
16:27get those juicy runes. This. And did we
16:31care about this one on the side here?
16:33That's a rebirth rune. We definitely
16:34want to grab that. I make that better?
16:38Not really. This. And then I think what
16:41we'll do is we're going to try to go
16:44over here for this first. Get that
16:47Urthrun saga cuz we're not going to be
16:49able to reach everything. We don't care
16:51about that one. See which one I'm going
16:53to be missing. We have two more
16:55explosions. This one had the power rune.
17:00And this one here had the
17:03time rune. So, I'm going to want to grab
17:05this and then this. And this obviously
17:08means we're going to be missing out on
17:10some of these things, but most
17:11importantly, it's the uh, the runes that
17:14I'm looking to get and I pick up the
17:15most important rewards. And that's
17:16basically the strategy.
17:18And then we run it.
17:20Here we go.
17:23That will do. Perfect ex- you see how
17:25much [ __ ] loot we're getting out of
17:27this? Woo!
17:29Money, money, money! And this is because
17:32of the um
17:34insistent pressure of extra runes that
17:36we're doing
17:37that's letting us have more and more
17:39rewards. Let's cover the little bit more
17:42interesting and more advanced version of
17:44high-budget approach. The baseline is
17:46essentially the same as the previous
17:48budgets. However, in here we want both
17:51monster effectiveness and rarity on all
17:54three tablets, out of which one is is an
17:57irradiated tablet. This does increase
17:59the cost of your tablets. I personally
18:01like to only run my grand expeditions
18:03with tier 16s to have the best chance of
18:05getting crazy valuable bases, but you
18:07can choose to run them on tier 15s, or
18:10run your maps with Omen
18:12modifiers as well if you'd like to as
18:14well. The part that sets this budget so
18:17much higher than the previously
18:18mentioned ones is that we'll actually be
18:20using the Alder's Saga when we open up
18:23an ocean area. This will add a special
18:25modifiers to the grand expeditions and
18:27make it very important that you aim to
18:29do this on zones with more than three
18:32rumors as I showed earlier. Whilst
18:34trying to avoid boss rumors as you'll
18:36find more grand expeditions in these
18:38zones, making the investments of using
18:40the Alder's Saga more worthwhile. These
18:43modifiers can be anything from making
18:45remnants lucky to guaranteeing a minimum
18:47amount of remnants on every single
18:48remnant, as well as providing extra
18:50remnants in your grand expeditions.
18:53This is what makes the Alder's Saga so
18:54valuable to use. What's important to
18:57keep in mind with this strategy is that
18:58there's a cost of using both a logbook
19:01and the Alder's Saga, then there's also
19:03a cost involved in using three properly
19:06rolled tablets, as well as rolling fully
19:08modded maps only to corrupt them and
19:10hope you get a tier 16. Due to this
19:12level of investment, it's crucial that
19:14you be mindful of the amount of rumors
19:16you open the zones with so you don't end
19:18up having to roll the dice whether or
19:20not you'll end up making profit or not.
19:22You can get very lucky and find 10 rune
19:25remnants or even the seven rune remnants
19:27that can provide the older saga without
19:29ever using an older saga. But with this
19:32investment, you'll want to be pushing
19:33for as high return of investment as
19:35possible. And this means that when you
19:38start a grand expedition, you first
19:40check if the rewards available are worth
19:42taking. If not, you then check if any of
19:44the runes that will follow the chain are
19:46of good value. And if that's not the
19:49case, we will indeed be rolling the dice
19:51by investing even further into our maps
19:54by using the liquid vericium that I
19:56mentioned earlier.
19:58A good older saga should net you at
20:00least 100 plus or more divines while the
20:03okay ones should get you a little bit
20:05less than that.
20:06I found myself enjoying this mechanic so
20:09so much. The permanent character boons
20:11provides a nice chase for blaster gamers
20:14or just crazy value choice instead. Due
20:17to the nature of this type of farm, it
20:18creates its very own ecosystem where
20:21low-budget farming feeds the people who
20:24wants to do the mechanic with higher
20:25investments allowing for all types of
20:28players to enjoy this mechanic in a very
20:30lucrative way no matter what budget you
20:32decide to farm on. My personal takeaway
20:34from the mechanic is that if you do
20:36decide to push high investments, it's
20:38very important you don't mess up on the
20:41rumors as you can end up getting a set
20:43of islands only having one or two grand
20:46expeditions. Stay away from opening
20:48zones close to any land and make sure
20:50there's more than three rumors.
20:52If you don't have access to that, I'd
20:54literally just pop them without any
20:56sagas and run some lower investment till
20:59you get a proper one with multiple
21:01non-boss rumors.
21:03I'll be hunting my last 10 rune remnant
21:05character boon and on stream later and
21:08then I intend on letting my chat vote
21:10for the next league mechanic as I'll
21:12deep dive that one and learn the stages
21:14of farming and make a video on that
21:16mechanic just like this video.
