1. 0:00Arcana is one of the most important
2. 0:01progression system in IO2. But a lot of
3. 0:03players are building incorrectly or
4. 0:05wasting resources chasing the wrong
5. 0:07cards. As the number one assassin on the
6. 0:09Taiwan server, I've spent a lot of time
7. 0:11optimizing my Arcana setup. In this
8. 0:13guide, I'll show you which cards to
9. 0:14prioritize, how to farm efficiently, and
10. 0:17how to maximize your DPS from beginner
11. 0:19to endame. And believe it or not, a
12. 0:21green Arcana can actually be better than
13. 0:23a gold one. Let's jump right in. First,
14. 0:26let's understand why Arcana is so
15. 0:28important. Think of arcana as a skill
16. 0:30card that increase the levels of your
17. 0:32active and passive skills. Normally,
18. 0:34your main skills can reach level 10.
19. 0:37[screaming]
20. 0:38The dividend board gives you another
21. 0:40four levels, bringing them to 14.
22. 0:43But to maximize DPS, we want our most
23. 0:45important skills at level 20 to unlock
24. 0:47their third skill, specialty. So, here's
25. 0:50the optimal setup. 10 base plus four
26. 0:52devel
27. 0:54four arcana plus two ring soulbind
28. 0:57equals to level 20. However, changing
29. 0:59soulbinds can be expensive early on. If
30. 1:02you don't have the correct soul binds
31. 1:03yet, you can get all six remaining
32. 1:05levels from arcana instead. Now, let's
33. 1:08quickly go over what each arcana
34. 1:09contains. Malice is the most versatile
35. 1:12one. It contains all of your active and
36. 1:14passive skills,
37. 1:16making it one of the hardest of cards to
38. 1:18get with the exact skills you want.
39. 1:20Parchment and Campus [music] each
40. 1:21contain roughly half of your active
41. 1:23skill pool. So, you'll need to target
42. 1:24the right card depending on which skills
43. 1:26you want to level up. Mirror Annabelle
44. 1:28works similarly, but each contains half
45. 1:30of your passive skills pool. When you're
46. 1:33just starting out, your goal is not to
47. 1:34get the perfect arcana setup. It's to
48. 1:36improve your important skills to at
49. 1:38least 16 while progressing through the
50. 1:40transcendence dungeon.
51. 1:44At stage one, don't worry about perfect
52. 1:46stats or completing a set. and just
53. 1:48focus on getting green cards to improve
54. 1:49your gear score and progress to the next
55. 1:52stage. Once you reach stage two,
56. 1:54prioritize blue parchment and a campus
57. 1:56since these contain your important
58. 1:58active skills.
59. 2:00Your goal is to get your main DPS skill
60. 2:02from level 14 to at least level 16.
61. 2:05As for mirror and bell, don't worry too
62. 2:07much about getting perfect passive bonus
63. 2:09yet. You'll eventually replace these
64. 2:10cards with the gold ones. Also, at this
65. 2:14stage, don't stress about whether your
66. 2:15arcana is vigor or magic armor. As long
67. 2:18as it has the right skills, use it. But
68. 2:20which set is actually better? There are
69. 2:22two main arcana set effects. Primal
70. 2:24vigor and magic armor. Early game, when
71. 2:26your attack is still relatively low, the
72. 2:29four-piece primal vigor bonus provides a
73. 2:31decent damage boost. However, as your
74. 2:33attack increases, that extra 150 PvE
75. 2:35attack becomes less impactful on your
76. 2:37overall DPS. So, don't stress too much
77. 2:40about completing the four piece set,
78. 2:42especially if it means giving up
79. 2:43important skill bonuses.
80. 2:46Now, let's go through which arcana I do
81. 2:48recommend for each slot. Chalice for
82. 2:50every class, I do recommend a chalice of
83. 2:52vigor for the sweet combat speed bonus.
84. 2:56Parchment of a vigor is generally the
85. 2:58best choice for the extra HP.
86. 3:01However, if you're playing Templar, you
87. 3:03can consider the magic version for
88. 3:04additional endurance and tankness.
89. 3:09For Belle, I recommend the magic one for
90. 3:11the percentage attack increase,
91. 3:14which becomes increasingly valuable as
92. 3:16your character gets stronger.
93. 3:20Campus. This depends on the content you
94. 3:22are running. If a boss has high accuracy
95. 3:24requirements, go for Campus of Vigor for
96. 3:27the percentage accuracy bonus.
97. 3:30Otherwise, stick with Campus of Magic.
98. 3:33For assassin especially, I don't
99. 3:35recommend a campus of magic since
100. 3:37attacking from behind allows you to
101. 3:39ignore the boss parry. For mirror early
102. 3:42game, I do recommend to go for the vigor
103. 3:43one for the cooldown reduction,
104. 3:44especially for assassin.
105. 3:47However, mirror of magic is also a solid
106. 3:50option for other DPS classes that
107. 3:51benefits more from additional double
108. 3:53chance.
109. 3:55Now, let's talk about how the arcana
110. 3:56enhancement works. Each rarity has a
111. 3:58different enchantment limit as shown
112. 4:00here.
113. 4:01Higher rarity cards gives you more
114. 4:03opportunities to improve your skills.
115. 4:05But here's something important. A high
116. 4:06rarity card doesn't always mean it's
117. 4:08better. For example, your blue or green
118. 4:10parchment may get your main skill to
119. 4:12level 20, unlocking its third specialty.
120. 4:14But switching to a gold parchment with
121. 4:16the wrong skills could make you lose
122. 4:17that bonus even if your gear score
123. 4:19increases. So always prioritize
124. 4:21important skills levels over gear score
125. 4:23unless you specifically need that extra
126. 4:25gear score to unlock a content. Now,
127. 4:27let's talk about when you should start
128. 4:28farming the gold arcana. At 2200 gear
129. 4:31score, you will unlock stage three
130. 4:32transcendence. But I wouldn't recommend
131. 4:34farming it too much since gold arcana
132. 4:36only has around a 12% drop chance.
133. 4:39Instead, pushing to 2500 gear score to
134. 4:42unlock stage 4 where the drop chance
135. 4:44jumped to around 60% with a chance to
136. 4:46obtain a gold chalice as well. But
137. 4:49here's a trick to help you to reach 2500
138. 4:51gear score faster. By reaching 4,000
139. 4:53points in Ascension Trials, you will
140. 4:55receive three mysterious crystals.
141. 5:01You can then redeem another two using
142. 5:04season points.
143. 5:07With five crystals, you can craft your
144. 5:09first gold arcana. And without the
145. 5:12doubt, I do recommend crafting a gold
146. 5:13chalice. Chalice contains your entire
147. 5:16active and passive skill pool, making it
148. 5:18much harder to obtain with the exact
149. 5:20skills you want. By crafting it with the
150. 5:22five mysterious crystals, you can
151. 5:24guarantee one important active skills of
152. 5:26your choice.
153. 5:29And of course, the remaining skills and
154. 5:31enhancement bonuses are random, so you
155. 5:33may not get the perfect result. But
156. 5:35that's fine. Your first priority is
157. 5:36reaching 2500 gear score to unlock stage
158. 5:39four. And since parchment is easier to
159. 5:41farm and has a smaller skill pole, you
160. 5:44can farm parchment to fill in the
161. 5:46missing skill levels. Now, let's talk
162. 5:48about how to get the perfect arcana
163. 5:50combination endame. As you progress, you
164. 5:53will eventually have more resources to
165. 5:55work towards your ideal arcana setup.
166. 5:57For assassin, we have three important
167. 5:59active skills that we want to bring to
168. 6:01level 20. Ideally, you want your
169. 6:03apartment to provide a plus four on one
170. 6:05of those skills.
171. 6:11So, a chalice only need to cover the
172. 6:13other two.
173. 6:15This leaves room for two powerful
174. 6:17passives on chalice, which for assassin
175. 6:19would be rear smite and assault stance.
176. 6:22Of course, your first crafted chalice
177. 6:24doesn't need to be perfect. You can keep
178. 6:26farming parchment to complement the
179. 6:28skills you already have. Then gradually
180. 6:30improve both cards as you get more
181. 6:32resources. Now, let's finish the build
182. 6:34with the campus bell and mirror. For
183. 6:36campus, aim for at least plus two on
184. 6:39your stagger skill to bring it to level
185. 6:4116. For assassin, I do recommend plus
186. 6:43two storm rampage and ideally plus four
187. 6:46savage draw. For bell and mirror, focus
188. 6:49on stacking enhancement bonuses on your
189. 6:50strongest of damage passives. For
190. 6:52assassin, here's my recommended setup.
191. 6:56Of course, getting the perfect setup
192. 6:58takes time. So, prioritize your most
193. 7:00important active skills first and
194. 7:02improve the rest as you progress. I know
