1. 0:00We have a situation now where many
2. 0:01people including Amnesty International
3. 0:04which seems to have strayed I would
4. 0:05think from its original charter but
5. 0:07that's another story and Human Rights
6. 0:10Watch are accusing Israel Israel of
7. 0:14committing genocide in Gaza and many
8. 0:17seem to parrot that line particularly in
9. 0:19the media. Can we just begin what is
10. 0:22genocide? the word's bandied around so
11. 0:24much that I don't think people have much
12. 0:26of an understanding of where it came
13. 0:27from and what it means or how it's
14. 0:31actually being inverted at the moment in
15. 0:33its application.
16. 0:34>> Well, quite right. It's being
17. 0:35monstrously abused as a word. I mean,
18. 0:38genocide was uh as a word, as a concept
19. 0:41uh was invented by someone called Rafael
20. 0:43Lmin uh I think in 1944 around the end
21. 0:48of the Second World War. Um and very
22. 0:50much influenced by the Holocaust. But
23. 0:52Raphael Lmin had been thinking since the
24. 0:55Armenian genocide or whenever that was
25. 0:581920s um uh about the fact that um there
26. 1:02was no words to describe or means of
27. 1:05getting to grips with the intentional
28. 1:08murder of very large numbers of people
29. 1:11um who were part of uh who represented a
30. 1:14specific ethnic group or race. And that
31. 1:18was the that's the meaning of genocide.
32. 1:19He coined the phrase um in order to
33. 1:22invent this concept that it was the
34. 1:24intentional uh destruction uh the
35. 1:27attempt to destroy an ethnic group an
36. 1:29entire ethnic group or race. Now um it's
37. 1:33been used uh the the the Nazi Holocaust
38. 1:38uh was um uh inspired uh by the aim of
39. 1:43committing genocide against the Jewish
40. 1:45people to wipe them off the face of the
41. 1:47entire earth.
42. 1:49and what the Israelis have been up
43. 1:51against uh for many years and which uh
44. 1:55was demonstrated so horrifically in the
45. 1:57October 7, 2023 pogram in southern
46. 2:00Israel. Uh what the Israelis are up
47. 2:02against is the attempt to commit
48. 2:04genocide against them, against Jews, uh
49. 2:07to wipe out Israel and destroy every
50. 2:09Jew. And we know that that is the
51. 2:11intention that is the intention of uh
52. 2:14the Islamic uh Republic of Iran uh which
53. 2:17has been mounting a sevenfront war
54. 2:19against Israel of which the October 7
55. 2:22pogram was one part. So as I understand
56. 2:24it although they've actually been
57. 2:26playing with it a little bit, Hamas's
58. 2:28actual charter
59. 2:30specifically refers
60. 2:33to the elimination not just of the
61. 2:35Jewish state but of Jews everywhere.
62. 2:38>> Uh that's right. Um it is uh sort of
63. 2:42foundational belief of Islamists that is
64. 2:45to say the people who interpret Islam to
65. 2:48uh mean that they have a sacred duty to
66. 2:49Islamize the world. um it's in intrinsic
67. 2:53to their belief system uh that the Jews
68. 2:56have to be completely destroyed because
69. 2:59they see Jews as basically the devil and
70. 3:02to be and and specifically to be um uh
71. 3:06the key driver behind the West and
72. 3:08behind modernity which of course they
73. 3:10think is bad and threatens Islam. So um
74. 3:13I mean the Republic of Iran um you know
75. 3:16they intend to wipe out Jews. It's a
76. 3:18explicitly genocidal project and so it
77. 3:21is beyond grotesque. It is quite
78. 3:23horrifying and quite baffling uh that uh
79. 3:26Israel is being accused of genocide. Um
80. 3:29because genocide is the intentional uh
81. 3:31destruction of an entire ethnic group uh
82. 3:35or uh race. And that is precisely what
83. 3:38Israel and the Jews are the victims of
84. 3:40again as they have been before. And
85. 3:43moreover um it is particularly uh uh uh
86. 3:48politically, religiously, historically
87. 3:51illiterate uh because um the Palestinian
88. 3:55Arabs of Gaza are not an entire ethnic
89. 3:58group nor are they a race. Um I mean
90. 4:01this is another discussion. I would say
91. 4:03there is no such thing as a Palestinian
92. 4:05people. uh but the people of Gaza uh are
93. 4:09people who belong to the Arab world or
94. 4:13the Muslim world and quite clearly I
95. 4:16would have thought who anyone who is
96. 4:18reasonably uh intelligent and sane.
97. 4:21Israel is not trying to destroy the Arab
98. 4:23world or the Islamic world at all. It is
99. 4:26trying to defend itself against um an
100. 4:29Islamic world that has that is intent
101. 4:32upon committing genocide against it. So
102. 4:36um it's it's it's it's it
103. 4:41indicates
104. 4:43the completely inverted and uh uh not
105. 4:48just wrongheaded but the way in which so
106. 4:51many people in the West have completely
107. 4:54reversed truth and lies when it comes to
108. 4:57the Middle East, when it comes to Israel
109. 4:59and the Arabs. They not only have no
110. 5:01idea what they're talking about, they
111. 5:04not only have absolutely no idea of
112. 5:06what's going on now, they have
113. 5:08absolutely no idea of the history of the
114. 5:10Middle East, no idea of the history of
115. 5:12the Jewish people in the Middle East, no
116. 5:14idea about Judaism. Most of them have
117. 5:15never met a Jew. They have no idea what
118. 5:18they're talking about, but they've taken
119. 5:19up this thing which is a propaganda
120. 5:22trope uh designed basically to fry the
121. 5:25western mind which has duly been fried
122. 5:28put out by um malign actors from within
123. 5:31the Islamic world who understand that uh
124. 5:36propaganda and the effect of prop their
125. 5:39propaganda on the credulous and ignorant
126. 5:42western mind is their greatest weapon
127. 5:45against Israel and the Jewish people and
128. 5:47against the West.
