- 0:15United Arab Emirates has always been
- 0:17shaped by the climate the location and
- 0:19by the purpose of the building the
- 0:21Emirates comprise three main
- 0:22environments the coast the mountains and
- 0:25the desert and structures vary
- 0:27accordingly these structures of which
- 0:30there are approximately 1,000 include
- 0:32forts watchtowers houses mosques and
- 0:42sus in the mid 1900s Abu dhabi's most
- 0:45prominent building was the ruler's
- 0:47residence known as alisen Palace located
- 0:50near the sea it was one of the largest
- 0:51forts in the Emirates and its four tall
- 0:54watchtowers and high walls surrounding a
- 0:55pleasant Courtyard can still be seen
- 0:57today

- 1:06guard over the entrance to Abu Dhabi

- 4:04back to the late 1800s constructed of
- 4:06local materials such as Mountain Stone
- 4:08and mud brick for the walls and palm

- 4:13several houses and a mosque there are

- 6:56fort and mosque at Fila
- 7:05Rising high above the gravel plane the
- 7:07three-story fjera Fort is one of the
- 7:09oldest in the UAE built in 1670 and
- 7:12strategically positioned on a natural
- 7:14Rocky outcrop it both defended The
- 7:16Village below and served as a residence
- 7:18for the ruling family it is constructed
- 7:20of rock and lime based
- 7:23plaster bitna Village can be found in
- 7:25wadam which runs from fjera through the
- 7:28hajar mountains to CG its Fort is built
- 7:31with two
- 7:32towers the Historic Site of alal Palace
- 7:35dated 1830 lies in the Hills behind
- 7:37modern-day
- 7:40fjera the Charming aledia mosque just
- 7:43north of fjera is the uae's oldest still
- 7:46functioning place of worship with its
- 7:48four small domes supported by Massive
- 7:50Central column its design is unique it
- 7:53is protected by two watchtowers at the
- 7:55top of the mountain to the West
- 7:56radiocarbon dating analysis suggests
- 7:58that this mosque was built in 1446 ad it
- 8:01was restored by Dubai municipality and
- 8:04inaugurated in
- 8:052003 as we have been blessed with so
- 8:08many of these historic monuments spread
- 8:10all around UAE it is our duty to
- 8:13safeguard and pass them on to our future
- 8:15Generations
